So Trevis, how do you live well with MS?

I suppose that without being too semantical it is because I live WITH it

that I think that I live well. I don't fight it, I'm not afflicted by it

I don't suffer from it. I try to live with it as part of my life because it is.

I don't like that part of my life, I don't like the fact that my hair is grey

and thinning either but I have to live with it. So I suppose if it could be said that

I lived well with MS it's because I try to live in parallel, in tandem with

my disease rather than fighting it.

Ok, so you mentioned the word 'suffer' and

that's a word that has been used a lot to me about my MS and how would you

respond to somebody who refers to your MS like that?

I think that the media has a terrible

responsibility in this one and I used to simply accept it, moving to Ireland that

that was what people refer to us as - 'MS sufferers' - but I think it's time to put a

stop to that. We live with it. No one calls me a 'blazer wearer' because I'm

wearing a blazer - why should they call me a sufferer because on occasion yes I do

suffer but that's not who I am. I am a person who lives with MS. I'm Trevis

Gleason and I live with multiple sclerosis.

Yeah, it's not me either.

Live Stream To Facebook Using OBS - Duration: 5:03.

Today in this video I'm going to show you guys how to live stream to Facebook

using OBS. OBS is open broadcast and it is a free program you can use to

live stream to your Facebook so let's get started.

The first thing you're going to want to do is head over to the OBS site. Let's

get that up here. And because I'm doing this, I use OBS open broadcast software

as a screen capture also, it is actually running right now so I'm not going to be

able to go live. but I can show you what you need to go live.

You can go to OBSproject.com

It's available for Windows, it's available for Apple, and it's also

available for Linux.

And I suggest trying to download it first and just use it for basic

recording. I'm not going to do a full tutorial on it because that can actually

take quite a while. And I want this video to be telling you how to broadcast not

how to use the software. But once you get it downloaded and are familiar with it,

you're going to do some settings. And let me pop it up here for a second so I can

show you how to do the settings. Okay, I have it over here in the little window

as you can see. And I have a display capture, which means it's capturing my

screen. And a lower third, which means I put a little overlay down here this is

my name and my website. And you'll see it as down over in this area. And as you can

see right here I am already recording. Otherwise it has start streaming and

start recording or stop. And let's go into the settings. And the first thing

you're going to do is go in to the general settings, and make sure that

these two boxes are clicked. Automatically record when streaming. Keep

recording when streaming stops. That's what I always do that way I have a

little buffer at the end so I can trim it to what I want. You don't have to keep

this one. But the automatically record when streaming is important that way it

saves a copy.

And the whole reason that you want to do this is because, when you go live on

Facebook you're going live, it compresses it to a small size. If you plan on

repurposing this content, over on, say like YouTube or Vimeo or into another

platform, it's gonna be a smaller size. It's not going to be evenly, it's not

going to be the normal 1280 by 720. So after you make sure you click

'automatically record when streaming', go down here to video. And make sure that

your size is where you want it. Now I like to record mine in HD.

So it's 1920 x 1080. And you can't change it once you start going so you

need to make sure that's set ahead of time. And the very last one is a stream.

Now when you get to stream right here you're gonna have several options. And

you can actually down click on the service here. You can see Facebook live.

You down click and you pick what stream you want to do it. You can live stream to

YouTube, to Twitch, several, but Facebook live is what we're talking about here.

Now, one thing you're going to need is a stream key. And if you're on a computer a

lot of times a stream key can be kind of hard to find. So I'm going to show you a

really easy way to find it real quick.

Facebook.com/live/create. And here it even says get

set up. Use OBS, Wirecast or XSplit, And then to you connect to live stream. So

when you click on this button right here, 'Create Live Stream', I'll go ahead and do

that, it it gives you a temporary live stream key that's only good for so

long. So after you use that live stream key, it won't be valid. So make sure you

get it right before you go live. Let me click over there. And it's loading. And

see, now it gives me the stream key which is right here. Now once you take this key,

and you go back and enter it on the other thing, once you start streaming,

you're still not live. You'll need to come back to this page, go down to the go

live button once it once it's streaming. You can hit this go live button and

you'll be live. Pull the streaming back up. And the settings back up.

And that's where that key is gonna be is right there. And that's that's basically

it. If you have any questions, my name is Diana. Feel free to drop a comment down

below. And also you can find me on Facebook. And you can find me on YouTube.

Alright, thanks a lot. Bye Bye!

How Do You Actually Understand Language? - Duration: 3:18.

Beep Boop Bop, Zero Zero One Zero One.

Oh, my bad.

I meant to say "Hey there and welcome to Life Noggin."

Isn't it awesome that you can hear, see, or feel words and get an understanding of

what someone is trying to tell you!

I love words, especially ones like soliloquy, kumquat, Ronkonkoma

Words are just a part of this wonderful thing called language and I'm super curious where

language comes from in the brain!

We're gonna find out with the help of my good friend Reina Scully

Reina: Hello!

First off, what is language?

Language is the expression of human communication through which things like beliefs, behaviors,

and knowledge can be shared, explained, or experienced.

It's based on a system of conventionally used signs, sounds, gesture, or marks that

can convey meaning within some sort of group or community.

As such, language is a little different from speech, which is more simply just a verbal

means of communication.

Reina: But where does language come from in the brain?

To help us figure it out, let's look at what happens when you hear a word and want

to say it yourself.

Generally, to speak the heard word, the information must first get to your primary auditory cortex.

Your posterior speech area comes into play,

including Wernicke's area, which we'll talk about more later.

The information travels to Broca's area and eventually ends up in your motor cortex

so you can say the word yourself.

It's similar for speaking a word that you read, but your primary visual cortex is involved.

Wernicke's area seems to be super important to your comprehension of sounds and language,

as damage to it can lead to something called Wernicke's aphasia, where a person can lose

the ability to understand language.

They can often still speak clearly, but what they say is often confusing and empty of content.

This is typically referred to as "word salad".

Blocko: Broca's area seems important to language as well, but moreso on the end of generating

articulate speech.

When it's damaged, it can lead to Broca's aphasia, which can make it harder for a person

to speak.

They can typically still comprehend language, but have difficulty replying in ways that

are coherent or grammatically correct.

Beyond these parts of the brain, language might also have something to do with a gene

called FOXP2.

This gene appears to be essential for the development of the speech and language regions

of your brain and it seems to influence language development.

Mutations in this gene can even lead to language and speech disorders.

REINA: And to all my bilingual friends out there, I've got some pretty cool news for you.

A recent study found that language shapes how the brain perceives time and that people

who speak two languages fluently can think about time differently depending on the language context

It's evidence on how language can creep into our senses!

What language you speak might also have an impact of what's going on inside your brain.

It sure is interesting how many different languages there are in the world!

Let me know the ones you know down in the comments!

Bonus points if you can speak robot.

REINA: or Japanese!

Make sure you check out Reina's channel on YouTube!

Not only is she an amazing friend of mine

but she makes incredible videos about Japanese culture

and all the events going on in her life

so if wanna watch more check out Reina's channel.

and tell her Blocko sent you!

Squealing under the hood: Don't Ignore It - GEICO - Duration: 0:53.

Car noises to never ignore: squealing under the hood.

Some car noises are perfectly normal, but some are not.

Like a squealing noise from under the hood when you start your car or when you accelerate

on the highway.

So, what does it mean?

Well, your car has either a series of belts or a single belt, called a serpentine belt.

This drives your power steering pump and other parts.

Over time, the belt can become stretched or warm and may make a squealing noise.

If the belt brakes, your car could become unsafe to drive.

So, don't ignore it.

Take it to a mechanic asap.

Belts are easy and inexpensive to replace.

So next time you hear this sound, now you'll know.

GEICO.

Saving people money on more than just car insurance.

5 Reasons to Hire a Professional Designer.

Coming up next on A Minute Smarter.

While Microsoft and Adobe have made it their mission to create user-friendly software that

allows ANYONE to create their own websites, brochures, posters and yes, even logos, there

are definite reasons why you as a small business owner should hire a professional designer

Think about it.

Is your time better spent creating a brochure and your company website, or by performing

the services that put you in business in the first place?

2) You don't have the skills.

Admit it.

You may have the software, but do you have the time and patience to learn how to use

the software as skillfully as a professional designer with years of experience?

Do you?

3) You want to keep your look consistent.

It's important as you brand your business to keep a consistent look and feel for all

of your marketing collateral.

Professional designers know how to support your visual message across all mediums.

shorter by the minute.

A professional designer does.

5) You'll want ongoing support.

Establishing your brand and marketing collateral is not a "once and done" deal.

DROPSHIPPING Tips and Tricks: 16 Ways Beginners Can Achieve Success [ACTIONABLE] - Duration: 10:25.

Dropshipping is a great business model.

It's low risk, low cost, easy to start up, and is highly automated.

But, if you're brand new to entrepreneurship, there's still quite a bit to learn.

Hey what's up world, I'm Tommy Walker with Oberlo, and today I'm going to give

you 16 different tips for when you're brand new to dropshipping.

If you have any questions, or want to share your experiences with dropshipping, drop them

in the comments below, and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Like I said before, I'm Tommy Walker, and if you like what we're talking about here,

consider subscribing, so you can get new videos every week.

Alright, let's jump right in.

1.

Focus on Mastering Marketing With so many aspects of dropshipping being

automated, you'll have more time to focus on marketing.

Sure, tweaking your website, designing logos, and creating graphics is a lot of fun, but,

if you're not actively working to get the right products, in front of the right people,

at the right time, all that time spent making the "perfect" website will go to waste.

A beautiful website with no visitors is like a "tree falls in the woods" scenario,

where if nobody really sees it, does it really even exist?

Don't get me wrong, design is important, but, if you're not also focused on getting

your beautiful website in front of people, you're never going to get any sales.

That's why you also need to invest in driving traffic.

That could mean through Paid Ads, SEO, Social Media, video marketing or partnering with

influencers.

Honestly, there are a ton of different marketing strategies and tactics you can drive traffic,

which is why I always advise new marketers to focus on the small handful of techniques

that come the most naturally.

Fortunately for you, we've got a ton of resources in the description below to help

get you on the right path.

2.

Create Compelling Offers You know what I love about online shopping?

Sales.

You know what I like even better?

Bundle deals on complementary products.

Because dropshipping can be highly competitive, really think about how you can make buying

from YOU, and building a relationship with YOU even more enticing.

This could mean anything from selectively offering "buy one, get one half off" deals,

to bundling multiple complementary items at a discounted rate, to offering a significant

discount on your visitors first purchase IF they register for an account.

Look at your offer from your visitor's perspective, and ask, "what's in it for me?"

If the offer isn't objectively good or amazing, you should rethink it.

By making offers that are difficult to ignore, you stand a much better chance at converting

more of the traffic you're driving.

3.

Avoid Underpricing Your Products

Now, I know this may sound counter to my previous tip, but avoid racing to the bottom on price

just to remain competitive.

Offering a lower overall cost on bundled products, or through "buy one get one half off"

sales is not the same as selling your entire inventory at just above cost.

This is a massive mistake I see new ecommerce entrepreneurs make all the time, where they're

not making any sales, and suddenly everything in their store is on sale.

Offering everything at rock-bottom prices can have a massive negative impact on a new

brand, and can make the brand feel… cheap.

If you're not making sales, don't jump to assuming it's your prices that are holding

you back.

Instead, reevaluate how you're driving traffic, and the offers you're making.

It's better to find new ways to drive traffic than it is to slash prices, because first

it's hard to raise them again, and second, you still have to pay the bills.

4.

Remove Bad Suppliers Quickly While most AliExpress suppliers are easy to

work with, reliable, and offer good products, sometimes a bad apple or two slip through.

With thousands of AliExpress suppliers, you can easily replace a bad supplier.

Many suppliers sell similar products, allowing you to sometimes even sell the exact same

product but from another manufacturer.

If you notice suppliers don't use the shipping delivery method you've chosen or consistently

ship faulty products, then you can easily remove their products from your store.

Again, this isn't very common.

Suppliers know that by offering quality service you'll continue bringing them more sales.

Also, if you want to minimize your chances of partnering with a bad supplier, check out

Oberlo Supply, which is a network of pre-screened suppliers we work with that are consistent

with their quality, support, and service.

5.

Automate as much of your business as possible With dropshipping tools like Oberlo, many

aspects of your dropshipping business will already be automated, but there is always

always room to take more off your plate.

Tools like Kit can help you automate tasks like advertising, retargeting, emails and

more, while other tools like Buffer can help you schedule your social media postings.

Other tools like Zapier can help you connect your Shopify store to other tools like Quickbooks

for Bookkeeping, Google sheets for order backups, and Hubspot for customer relationship management.

For more information on ecommerce automation, check out the the link in the description

below.

6.

Make sure your website is presentable

You would be shocked to see how many entrepreneurs launch their dropshipping websites with missing

images, placeholder text, and no discernable categorization to their products.

Unfortunately, when you're sending traffic to a website that can't be navigated, it

reeks of unprofessionalism, and immediately diminishes the trust and credibility of your

brand.

Before launching your store, take a look at other websites in your niche.

What does their home page look like?

What's the format of the copy on their product page?

Do their images include logos on them?

What types of pages does their website have?

Which features or apps does the store include on their website?

After taking notes about the look and layout of different stores in your niche, browse

through the Shopify app store to find apps that will mimic the most common features you've

found in your research.

Product reviews, ratings, and email capture are among the most common features of ecommerce

stores.

You can also add pages to feature your refund policies, FAQs, shipping information, and

more.

7.

General Store vs Niche Store

While a lot of advice out there, including our own, will tell you to start with a niche

store, the truth is, sometimes you don't want to sell just one type of thing.

In reality, general stores, while they can be a lot more work, between keeping products

organized and categorized, and marketing to different demographics, are great starter

stores as they force you to think more broadly.

On the other hand, if you want to put the work into researching and validating a niche,

a niche store can allow you to narrow in on finding, and marketing to, the right audience.

The running niche would be an example of a niche within the fitness vertical.

While there's still a ton of competition for running gear and accessories, it's not

nearly as broad as if you were to sell a wide variety of fitness gear.

This really all boils down to one question, "what do you have the tolerance for?"

If you can answer that honestly, and are confident you can drive traffic, you'll be all set.

8.

Be prepared to pivot… fast There are all sorts of unexpected challenges

and adversity that will come up, because at the end of the day, you're running a business.

A supplier may stop carrying a product, a new trend may emerge suddenly, your customers

may hate a product you've added to your store, or one of your ads may be scaling really

well and you'll need to take a loan to continue supporting the growth.

Pivots aren't good or bad, really, but they do require you to be flexible and decisive

when the moment is necessary.

9.

Offer exceptional customer service

There are ways to stand out when you're selling similar products to other companies.

While you may think that offering refunds and responding to inquiries is the role of

customer service, that's just where the job starts.

Tell jokes, write thank you cards, send surprises, and go out of your way to make them feel special.

Like the poet Maya Angelou said, "People will forget what you said.

People will forget what you did.

But people will never forget how you made them feel."

10.

Use Data to Inform Your Inventory Be picky about the products you add to your

store.

Don't just add products because they look nice and you'd like it for yourself.

Look at the data – are these products getting sales and positive feedback?

When evaluating products from your supplier, check to see the order volume, reviews, and

customer photos, and seller ratings to ensure you're partnering with a trustworthy supplier.

11.

Always choose ePacket As a dropshipper, you're free to sort products

based on ePacket shipping.

Since ePacket shipping is the fastest affordable shipping method, you'll be able to ensure

quick delivery to customers without breaking the bank.

On average, ePacket shipping costs under $5 for most products, and will make sure your

customers will get your products between 7 and 20 business days, and often much faster.

If you want to learn more about ePacket, click on the link in the description below.

12.

Be Active Daily Dropshipping isn't an automated business,

and there is no overnight success.

While you likely won't need to put in 8 hours a day, you do need to spend at least

an hour every day to grow your store.

Each day you'll need to process orders, respond to customer inquiries promptly, drive

traffic, and generally just make sure everything's running smoothly.

This is not a "build it and they will come" scenario, and it requires work every single

day to make sure the business is running well.

13.

Import 10-25 items to start

Here's a problem for you - In your excitement to start your dropshipping business, you've

just imported 600 items to your store.

What a great selection you have now, right!?

But then, once you look at your store, you realize, that's 600 product descriptions

you need to edit, 600 titles you need to rewrite, a billion tags you need to come

up with, and 3,000 photos you need to comb to to see which ones you'll have to crop

supplier logos out of.

What do you do?

Most people, myself included, just give up.

Nevermind, this wasn't for me, this is too much work, I quit!

It's much easier to start with a small collection of 10-25 products, that way you can more easily

manage the workload, especially if you're doing this on your own, and after day at your

9-5.

14.

Monitor your competition

Here's a suggestion for you, start a spreadsheet, and include links to all of your primary competitors

websites, social media accounts, and wherever else they're selling online.

Sign up to their email lists, and heck, maybe even buy some of their products.

Once a week, check in on how they're positioning their products, what they're saying in their

emails, what kinds of sales they're running, and how they're retargeting their ads.

This kind of low-level competition monitoring will provide you some insight with how they're

running their business, and can help expose holes in their strategies and may also teach

you some very valuable lessons along the way.

15.

Change the Oberlo Custom Note As a dropshipper, you should change your custom

note to your supplier.

Under Settings, click Suppliers, you'll find Custom Note on the bottom of the page.

Here you can leave a message for all your suppliers.

You'll want something that's relevant to all your suppliers.

Something along the lines of, 'Ship with EPACKET only!

We're dropshipping.

Please no invoices or promotions!'

Since you're only importing ePacket products, it's good to remind suppliers to use ePacket

shipping to ensure customers receive their goods quickly.

It's also important to tell them that we're dropshipping so that they don't add their invoices or

marketing materials in packages.

If you do this, you shouldn't have an issue with suppliers adding their own invoices or

promotions in your packages.

16.

Use Oberlo Supply If you're launching your first dropshipping

store, consider using Oberlo Supply.

Oberlo Supply helps you dropship quality products from trusted suppliers with a wide variety

of products from popular and hidden niches.

The best part about Oberlo Supply is that incoming orders are immediately sent to suppliers

making it great if you're working around a busy schedule.

You'll have more time to focus on marketing so you can make more money.

in the description below.
