This time, Sakoonthai, time for some Thai food!

Let's meet chef Vith here, he's the master behind Sakoonthai restaurant,

authentic Thai food.

He came from Thailand.

Oh my gosh!

Before I was born!

We're so excited to check out how Pad Thai is made!

The shrimp Pad Thai right here, fresh out of the wok, and it smells so good.

I can't wait to just dig in!

Let's go!

Woo look at this, chewy rice noodles.

The rice noodle is super spongy.

I love how it's a little bit sour, but not too salty.

I need to mix it actually, some peanuts too.

Some peanut crusts.

Mmm I love the peanuts that just added crunchiness to this dish.

And of course, the shrimp right here.

It's so perfectly grilled.

Mmm let me mix in some beansprouts too.

It's interesting because they actually, when they were cooking it, they cooked in

together with some beansprouts,

but then they also serve you with some raw beansprouts on the side.

Mmm look at this.

I like that the beansprouts really added some freshness

and crispness because normally this

is just smooth, chewy, everything is cooked, but then the side of peanuts and the side

of raw beansprouts really added extra texture to this dish.

Crunchiness, some fresh and crispness from the beansprouts.

This is awesome, guys!

Make sure you try this Pad Thai out when you come to Sakoonthai!

As soon as we sat down, Chatchai brought us one iced tea and one iced coffee.

I really have to point out that their iced tea is made from a Thai tea leaf.

And you can't find it in any other coffee shops locally.

So let me take my first sip.

Mmm ooh super milky.

Obviously there's milk mixed into it.

And you don't really find a lot of iced tea or just

general tea that's so in orange color.

It's pretty sweet, but it is different.

Like I don't really taste other tea out there that has a similar flavor to this.

Pretty special!

The second dish we got here is the Prik Gleur.

Prik Gleur is basically any kind of meat of your choice,

and then battered,

and then deep-fried,

and then they stir fry with hot chili pepper and chef's special garlic sauce.

We got the pork version here.

So it's the pork Prik Gleur that we got here.

And look at the presentation.

It looks so pretty

with the green onions, big lettuce leaf on the bottom.

Mmm.

The outside is really crispy.

Inside is chewy.

Ooh spicy, yeah!

A little bit, not so much.

A little bit spicier than mild.

Maybe because it has this green chili pepper too.

Oh and this dish comes with a side of rice too.

How cute is that rice bowl.

Let me try it with a little bit of their side onions and red bell pepper.

Mmm.

I love the combination of the texture that we have here.

There's crispiness, there's chewy.

Just all kinds of flavors mixed together.

A bit spicy, a bit salty, a bit sweet.

This makes a perfect meal, guys!

Mmm let me take my first sip of the iced milk coffee.

Mmm.

It's pretty sweet.

It tastes almost a little bit like Vietnamese coffee,

but Vietnamese coffee is a lot darker

and it's more bitter.

This one is more on the sweeter and milkier side.

Yeah pretty good!

I really have to point out, look at how cute their pitchers are!

The third dish we got here, which is one of the most popularly ordered dishes, it is the

drunken noodles with chicken.

And how different it is, this noodle,

from their Pad Thai, is that this is really big

fat wide rice noodles.

We got the chicken here, so you can also pick another kind of meat.

Or if you're a vegetarian, you can choose tofu or just veggies on the side.

So let me take my first bite.

Mmm.

It's

spicy.

I don't know if it was because of the noodle I got that was laying right to a green chili

pepper, but this is hot!

But it's very flavorful.

Salty, like soy sauce kind of saltiness.

Different from Pad Thai where it's a bit sour, like vinegary.

This is more on the salty side.

And it's definitely spicier than the pork Prik Gleur.

I'll try a little bite of their chicken.

Nice and tender.

Let me take another bite of their drunken noodles.

Actually what an interesting name, right?

And the noodle is so wide and so fat, and so spongy, look at this!

Mmm.

I don't know if it's the sauce, I think it's some kind of herb that they use in

their cooking, in their seasoning.

It's good though.

And I love how they garnish it with caramelized tomatoes,

green peppers,

red bell peppers,

carrots.

Very sweet.

Bell pepper is very sweet.

Mmm.

Let's meet one of the owners of Sakoonthai, Chatchai right here.

The other owner is actually Andrew, but unfortunately he cannot be here today.

So I saw on the internet that there was a different restaurant before Sakoonthai existence.

So can you tell us a little bit about the background of how all this came together and

what happened in the transition?

I started working in Sakoontra as a delivery guy.

Ohh.

Yeah and after that, we got some customers around this area.

The owner said they were gonna shut down their business.

Oh.

That's why I think that

our customers are still here, still need Thai food from Sakoontra.

Right.

That's why we were thinking to open the new location.

Oh so the employees are also the same as from Sakoontra?

They came here too?

Oh wow.

The chef too?

Yes.

The two chefs.

When did Sakoontra open and when did Sakoonthai open?

Sakoontra, they opened, I guess it's 2000.

We opened here, June 20, 2015.

June of 2015?

Yeah.

Ok.

How does Sakoonthai stand out from other Thai restaurants around here?

First thing is we came from Sakoontra.

We saw the kids, they grew up, they married, and they still come back.

They bring their kids here.

Yeah.

They bring their kids here, and tell them you know.

This is what dad and mom ate here before.

Yeah.

That's why we want to keep everything like a loyal family.

From generation to generation, they still keep coming back.

Exactly, you know.

The second thing is the taste of the food.

Yeah that's why that's our top priority, of the food quality.

The food quality and the taste.

Yeah.

And you can see the decoration.

Yeah we want balance of the American and Thai.

American style, but the Thai food.

To make it come together.

Ohh gotcha.

Sort of like a fusion from the traditional Thai food with like the Americanized decoration.

Exactly.

So it's not too foreign to Americans to come here to eat.

When I talked to Chatchai earlier, he mentioned to me about the design of this restaurant.

So the designer meant to represent four parts of a house in this restaurant.

So it's actually divided into four sections.

So behind me is basically the living room where you see the big bookshelf.

And then the area that we're sitting, you can see this couch, the design is sort of

like your bedroom, like your bedroom headboard.

And then where the grass is, represents the deck.

And then the other corner, it represents the dinning area.

So it just makes you feel very comfortable.

It's like you're eating at home.

Look at their menu right now.

It's so cutely designed.

Just like their store right here.

It's so pretty looking.

Let me just dig in to my first green tea ice cream bite.

Ooh look at this.

Mmm.

Another bite of their green tea ice cream.

This thing you have to eat it really quickly because the bottom plate is so hot that it

just sort of melts everything down.

So you need to eat this pretty quickly!

Mmm let me dig in to this roti bread in the bottom.

I guess this is the highlight of this.

Look at this right here.

Mmm.

I love this roti bread.

It's super fluffy, and airy, and chewy.

It's a little bit salty and then the berry just added some citrus-ness to this bread.

Oh my gosh this is so interesting!

Mmm.

Wow.

This is just so fun to eat!

We had so much fun eating here at Sakoonthai.

Really big shout out to chef Vith.

Too bad we didn't have enough time to talk with him today because he was so busy cooking.

But we really want to thank him for showing us how to make Pad Thai today.

Not only does your tongue can enjoy their authentic and delicious Thai food, your eyes

can also be satisfied with their cute decorations on the wall and just their environment.

Also, look at this cute little table out in front of the restaurant.

I think when the weather is nice, people would eat outside.

How to meal prep - Healthy meal ideas - Duration: 7:37.

Hey guys, it's Denai Johnson from Hella Well and today

I'm sharing with you guys my personal food prepping process to ensure that I eat healthy throughout the entire week

I'm telling you if you want to eat healthy

organizing and preparing in advance

It really is key so that when you are

hungry

When you get to those moments of time where you're just starving like that you've got healthier food options already prepped and in your fridge

Or to take to work with you so that you're eating that instead of like takeout so typically when it comes to my food

Preparation for the week I don't bother with prepping my breakfasts in advance most days

I just have a smoothie, so that's easy enough. I don't have to prepare for that if you guys want to see some

Breakfast food prep ideas comment below. Let me know I can totally do that for you guys today

I'm gonna focus on prepping lunches for the week

I'm gonna do my dinner preparation for the week, and I'm also gonna show you guys a couple of different snack

Preparation ideas we're gonna start with our lunches right now

So I've decided that I want to eat salads for lunch this week and with my salads

I always want to make sure that I'm not just eating vegetables

But that I'm also getting some healthy fats in there and my protein as well

So I'm gonna prep my veggies in just a second

But first of all I've gone ahead in advance before I started filming and I made a really tasty walnut cheese

So I've got that as my healthy fat, and then I've also made some black bean sweet potato patties

So this is gonna be my protein black beans have lots of protein in them and these are gonna go

Fantastic in the salads for this week all right up next the most labor-intensive part of the process is just cutting up the vegetables

Okay, so we've chopped our red peppers our chew cumber or green onion

And now I'm going to use my food processor to shred my cabbage and my carrots

And there we go we got a big tub of grated carrot first eyelids so much easier than using a grater

So we're gonna do the cabbage now

Done those all that fabulous

All right there. We go. We've got all of our salad ingredients

I personally wouldn't recommend actually putting together the salads and having them all pre-made sitting in the fridge for a week

I just find with vegetables they release a lot of water a lot of liquid over time so if you make like

All your salads in advance pre-made in containers for the week

They're just gonna start to get like soggy and mucky

Which it's not enjoyable so typically what I do cut them all up shred them all up have them in their own

Individual containers, and then when I actually go to eat my salad

I just hauled the stuff out

Take a little bit of each and eat it fresh then in there so that's all you guys really need to know for the lunches

For the week you're gonna want to get some spinach or romaine or whatever kind of salad base you like kale

But that's really all you're gonna need and I promise you guys having this in the fridge. It's gonna be so much easier

Don't you think you'd be more inclined to eat this if it was already pre-made in the fridge as opposed to ordering pizza

I don't know. Maybe not pizza is pretty damn good, but you're cool

All right now lunch of prepping our dinners so for lunch as I typically do like to have something fresh and raw like a salad

Like I just showed you guys and then for dinners

I personally like to have something warm and cooked so I've gone ahead

Ahead of time and made this homemade vegan shepherd's pie which is such a delicious comfort meal

But for dinners, you know things like stews or soups

Chili's any kind of lentil based dishes curries

Spaghetti sauces you know things like this are fantastic because they're gonna keep in your fridge for up to a week

And it's so easy to just cook them Porche them out

They're in the fridge ready to go so as you guys can see I personally use glass containers for my food

I as much as I can try and stay away from plastics

There's a lot of talk about the plastics in our food disrupting our hormones

Especially when we heat those plastics

so especially if you're gonna take it to work and microwave something in it you really don't want to use plastic so I

Still do have some plastic containers like I'm not that hardcore about it, but I'm slowly transitioning as much as possible into using just glass

There we go you guys six portions

I've got my dinner's ready to rock for the week by the way if you guys want to see videos on anything that I've made

today the shepherd's pie or the walnut cheese or the black beans sweet potato patties just

Comment below, and I can definitely do videos on how to make those things last

But not least it's gonna show you guys a couple of different snack ideas that you can prep for the week

So I'm going to show you two different ideas today the first one we're gonna do is

Veggies and hummus so I went ahead of time and I made my own homemade hummus

So I'm just gonna prep these now

I'm gonna cut my carrots and celery of course you can use any kind of vegetables that you would like and yeah

I'm just gonna chop that up

Laughs is easy enough. We've got our chopped veggies our hummus

I'm telling you guys easy delicious snack another super easy snack idea that I really love

this is my personal favorite is to just have an apple and

some almond butter or peanut butter so you could just throw this if you're going to work or to school throw an apple in your

Bag I usually don't like to cut my Apple in advance because it

Oxidizes and starts to brown so usually when I get to work

I'll cut it up then, but yeah, just throw an apple in your bag

And then a tablespoon of the other peanut butter or almond butter you get a good big sized spoonful done all right

So there you go guys

We've got our meals prepped for the entire week some healthy delicious lunches snacks dinners

I promise you guys if you have this stuff ready and prepped in your fridge

You're gonna be so much more likely to eat this as opposed to hitting up the drive-thru on the way home

Clayton and I met three years ago.

So they asked Clayton and we just clicked.

Even though all of our closest friends were there

and everything was set up so perfectly,

I just thought it was a great evening with friends.

Then, Clayton kneeled down

I was pumped when she said, "yes".

After Clayton proposed, we actually went to his car.

I asked him to repeat his proposal

So one of our favorite things is just drive down to the lake.

We are big paddleboarders and kayakers.

My favorite thing about the Honda Accord is the power.

I went online to do research and when I landed on my Accord,

I liked the color, I liked the price.

I was ready.

Next time we go to purchase a car, it would be a Honda.

My first car was a Honda. Second car is been Honda.

WT here and today I want to talk to you about

getting motivated sometimes it's hard to get motivated today go to the gym had a

great workout who's feeling good I come back and you know I wanted to make a

video I want to talk about doing you know gym routine and how how it fits

into personal development but when I started to try to to make the video I

just wasn't motivated I wasn't feeling

it I wasn't feeling like though the message

really made any sense so when you run into situations like that where you're

planning to do something and it's just not working out it's just not it's not

fitting in right it's not not gelling instead of forcing it just step by step

I can do something else because what it means is that it's not the right time to

do that right now so instead of spending a bunch of energy and get it frustrated

just take your mind off of it and do something else so what did I decide to

do I decided to make a video about you're doing something now similar to

some of the other videos that I made before it is very important I think this

is one of those things that they you run into a lot when you're trying to build

successful when you're trying to grow something is that you get into your mind

that right now you need to do this but it might not be the plan of

life for you to do this right now maybe you should do something else so when you

start to really read decides to learn how to read the signs read the messages

that are around you yeah we always start to guide your success in the right way

that's gonna help you the most to benefit so it might mean that you got to

tweak it a little bit you got a turn left instead of four right you have to

do something maybe a little bit different or in a different sequence and

what you plan to but if you really start to follow those guys you can build your

success without distress and their urgency of trying to do something

fighting against things because this whole thing works like like you're

current in the river and if you flowing with the current you're in alignment

with everything that you're trying to do if you're gonna go against secure you're

trying to go against where it wants to take you so you're trying to go upstream

where it's trying to take you down stream so you have to learn how to

understand how life wants to to move and flow and you got to learn how to

navigate through that and how to get to where you're going without going against

when you're trying to do because this that's one of the things that you know

you will find will happen to you you think you're you're moving forward you

think that you're making progress you're actually really going backwards because

you're fighting against if you're always playing if there's always something

trying to block you stop you from getting to where you're going

look at what is going on around you is there a reason for it is there a reason

that you're trying to go upstream when you should be going downstream it's very

easy to notice when you step back and you really in tune with your feelings

how do you feel it what we try to do right now if you're feeling frustrated

if you're feeling urgent then it means it's not the right time you shouldn't be

doing this right now doesn't mean you can't do something

related to that but the exact thing that you're trying to do just forget about it

so I was trying to do a video above you know personal development and how it

relates to working out of the gym that's why I got my gym clothes on because I

came back from the gym and I was motivated but the words weren't flowing

the message wasn't flowing and then when I realized that my message for today

needs to be about learning how to work with the current learning how to work

with the way the life is trying to flow instead of pushing all the time trying

to say no this is what I'm going to do and I'm going to do it right now it

doesn't matter because when you're doing that you're causing more tension and

stress in your life than unique and the whole idea is to be able to enjoy this

stuff and have fun so if you're running into roadblocks because you're pushing

the wrong direction it just means that you gotta listen to light and realign

and flow with them and as you flow with it you're gonna find that everything is

much easier but these words are just flowing I need to write this down and be

plan this but it's just flowing because I'm talking about something that I am

experiencing and I'm talking about how to navigate how I deal with these type

of hurdles in these type of and I guess roadblocks these type of of stresses I

don't let them stress me I don't let them stop me from having a good day or

stop me from progressing all I do is I change and figure out okay what is it

that I'm supposed to do if I'm not supposed to talk about working out at

the gym right now what am I supposed to talk about and once you open up yourself

to let life guide you they let it flow the words will come to you that ideas

will come to you of what you should do what you can do with the time now so

you're still utilizing your time now wasting your time but you're doing

something that is more beneficial to what your big goal is so that's how you

navigate through universe through these roadblocks and these stresses don't ever

get stressed out if something's not working out just stop and you don't

listen to your feelings for a second and let your feelings guide you to what you

can do instead of what you're trying to do and you'll find that you'll be very

much more successful all the time and things will manifest for you quicker and

easier because you're allowing you're allowing the message to come key you're

allowing the solution to come to you instead of looking and fighting and

saying I need to do this right now maybe a day or two from now I'll do that

video about about working out at the gym and why it's so important but for now

the message that I want to share is how I dealt with things not going the way

that I planned and how I change it instantly I mean I changing this

instantly I'm not sitting and stewing and being upset and waiting I instantly

stop the camera and then he decided to re-record and just talk about what I was

going through and that really worked out well for me I think when I watch this

video after when I'm editing I think I'm gonna find that this was the message

that I needed to say today so that's what I wanted to talk to you about today
