Waching daily Jan 5 2018

Hi guys I'm Shayda welcome to my first bullet journaling tutorial I don't

really know how I didn't get into bullet journaling for so long I think I just

thought that it was really a time consuming activity that I didn't have

the time for but recently I've been trying it out and it's actually really

meditative and enjoyable and so I wanted to share that with you guys today

actually I don't even know how I avoided it for so long because it's all my

favorite stuff it's like tiny Sharpie lines and crossing off your to-do list

and you know filing an organization so all the good stuff in life um so what I

thought we would do today is I'm going to show you around my journal and show

you sort of my layout for 2018 and also for the month of January I'm a few days

late on that I know and from now on what we'll do is we'll do our monthly layout

together a few days before the start of each month so yeah so let's get started

so before we get into the bullet journal today guys I just wanted to mention that

I have a new website and so this is a place where I'm sharing my portfolio my

body of work as well as a place where you guys can go to find out what's new

with me and the brand and I have portfolio box to thank for that new site

now they're an in-browser software that helps creatives create really beautiful

websites that put your images first if you're a blogger podcaster a makeup

artist an actor and you have a body of work that you want to show portfolio box

makes it really easy to create a beautiful website that's all about those

images that you value so much so right now there's a link in the description

below and you guys can get 10% off a yearly subscription to portfolio box and

honestly if you've got a website to create you could probably do it in a day

with portfolio box so check them out and today's video is kindly sponsored by

them alright let's get to the bullet journal so this is my journal and it's

about 7 by 9 inches which means it's quite square in format

the important thing here is that it's dot grid paper so if you're getting into

bullet journaling this is the type of paper that you want to search for on

Amazon or whatever the dot grid it's not lines it's not a graph it's a grid of

dots that allows you to keep things straight you can make nice rows and

columns and you don't have to worry about having these really harsh lines

across your page now I actually flipped my journal upside down because I liked

the the larger margins across the top that were previously across the bottom

and I'm gonna actually cover it with something in the future so so that's

that that's the journal and then just in the inside cover here I have a few

little of photos that I ordered from eternogram they're just these sweet

little photo cards and I just use some pictures from our travels and I can sort

of use them as bookmarks and decorations in the journal and they just sort of

help me set my my color scheme and then on the inside page here I just want to

point out that I've actually created my own stickers and I know that a lot of

bullet journalers enjoy using little stickers to decorate and I think a

really fun thing that you can do is actually create your own so if you go to

the dollar store or craft store buy a sheet of plain white or craft paper

stickers like I have here and then you can just use your sharpie or your pigma

micron to make your own designs I've put 'this is my year' and I've sort of

reinforced some of my New Year's resolutions with those stickers so

that's a really fun way to decorate then inside here my first page is just my

spread of the entire year so I can sort of see 2018 at a glance I haven't

put in November in December yet and that's because I just wanted to show you

guys how I did that I think the layout is pretty simple I just used this sort

of peachy colored marker to create these nice simple calendars all right let's

flip the page so this is what I would sort of call my 2018 section I haven't

gotten into any of the monthly layout the January layout this is just sort of

my yearly layout so I want to keep things nice and minimal and simple so

I'm using a bit of ripped paper here to create a very simple minimal collage

and then on the right hand side I've made sort of a title page for the year

for the year 2018 and I've done that by drawing a square in the middle and I use

my dot grid paper to align that and then around the square I've drawn a larger

rectangle and I would have done all of that in pencil and then I just took my

pigma micron some of the smaller nibs like the 01 and the 005 and I drew this

very delicate these very delicate floral and botanical illustrations very small

and simple and you're just filling in the space of course I used a little

exacto to cut out the window and then when you flip the page you've got my

year 2018 at a glance so there's still that title in the middle and then around

it I've placed you know my goals my resolutions I've got some words for the

year like free and positive so it's just things that I kind of want to use to

inspire the year ahead and I've got some of my youtube goals and wish lists and

things like that written down at the bottom here ok and then on the next page

this is still within my sort of year at a glance and so on the right hand side

I've got the main projects that I work on every day of the year so I've got of

course my video ideas list I'm always coming up with new ideas for the YouTube

channel in relation to the channel I also have my own blog so I'm also coming

up with little blog ideas and then in the summertime I run my own little gift

shop where I sell some of my own crafts and art so I've also got a list there of

ideas of things that I want to make for the shop or work on for the shop so this

is my year's work in a very general glance and then on the left hand side I

have a list that's easily removed and that's my shopping list for all the

things that I might need to go out and grab in order to do all these crazy

projects that I dream up ok and then on the next page I've just created well

I've left the left hand blank and I'd like to come up with some sort of yearly

tracker I know I saw the year in pixels a lot on Pinterest so I might try that I

haven't decided in that sort of a project for another day but I'd

like to do some sort of tracking thing for the entire year so if you have any

ideas comment below and then on the right hand side I've just done what I

would call an inspirational page where I've collage a bit the floral piece with

some of my own print work and I've just done a little quote there and you can

see here what I've done is I've taped the two pages together with a little

piece of washi tape and that's because I know I'm gonna do a big illustration on

this side and you know with a large illustration a lot of the time the ink

comes through so if you're a bullet journaler what do you do about that do

you tape pages together do you skip pages what do you do about ink bleeding

through the page do you buy a better journal I don't know so comment below

and let me know but this now that we're on this side this would be my January

2018 spread so we're gonna talk about the layout for the month at a glance and

then this is what my weekly spread looks like so this is the week that we're in

right now I've got the date at the top left corner and all the day's laid out

and then what we'll do is we'll flip the page and I'll show you how I did that

layout and we'll do the layout for next week but it'll be the same but

we'll just go through it together okay and then before we jump into the

tutorial bit I had written down a few words that I wanted to use to sort of

guide the process of creating this journal and the words were minimal so I

want to use a lot of negative space neutral I want the journal to be you

know only certain colors black white pink and then the last word was happy I

want it to be a positive place where I want to come and you know dive into

every day so here's a good example of the neutral color palette I'm using

washi tapes in just black I spent about a half hour and staples trying to figure

out which washi tapes define me and I've also got a woodgrain tape that'll help

bring that warmth of same with the craft paper and so it's black white grey pink

and a little bit of brown and here's a good example of the negative space this

is not my layout I took this from an aphid on Pinterest if you know the

source please comment below but that's a great thing about bullet journaling is

that we can all learn from each other but this this format this layout has a

lot of negative space and I think that's what makes it work is

all that blank page makes it so beautiful same here lots of white space

so it's very calm and that also feeds into that happy positive place it's very

you know gentle and positive and simple and clean when I look here and I've got

lots of photos and quotes that make me happy now before we move on I just want

to take a second to say two things one there is a super dope giveaway this week

so make sure you watch to the end of the tutorial for that and - thank you to

everyone who's chosen to support me on patreon it means so much to me and since

this is the first bullet journaling tutorial I've released two packs of

digital stickers over on my patreon site including the junk-food stickers yes

they're finally done so you can go over there for two dollar monthly donation

you'll get access to all of the art that I post there and because this is the

first journaling tutorial I'm also releasing at just three of the nine

junk-food stickers over on my blog in the bullet journal post you'll find the

freebie download so go check it out okay so here's the tools I'm pretty much

using a couple good artist pens like a pigma micron or a triplet fine liner

from Staedler and what I do for the January layout is I'm starting in pencil

to create a calendar grid and I'll just erase all that pencil later a nice soft

gum eraser is good for this so that you don't get creases in your page when you

erase and you can see here I'm using my pigma micron to just mark off the

corners of the calendar and then I'm writing in abbreviated days of the

week at the top and I'm just using a simple cursive lettering to do that and

then I'm going to go through and put all the numbers again negative space so each

number is in its own box of a three by three grid and it has lots of white

space around it Im also going to add some important

dates here at the bottom of the calendar you could put whatever you want in sort

of towards the bottom of the page I'm gonna do a schedule of the months videos

the YouTube videos I'm also going to track some of my stats like how many

subscribers I have on YouTube or many followers I have on Instagram and

that'll just be fun for me to go back and look at at the end of the year but

you could add whatever you want into this bottom bit this layout I also saw

from a photo on Pinterest and I just fell in love with it and then what I'm

gonna do here is just take that marker and do a little under loin line so just

adding a bit of color to the page layout and that's sort of my January 2018 and

the glance and we'll come back and we'll do our title page on the left-hand side

there as well so now let's take a look at the week at a glance again this is

such a nice simple layout you get to do a fun little weekly illustration there

put some notes and you've got everyday your sort of your to-do list laid out

and I'm a big fan of to-do lists so I was very drawn to the weekly layout so

how I'm creating this is I'm just using a mechanical pencil so not a lot of

smudging easy to erase and I'm marking the six lines I'm not doing seven days

I'm using the weekend sort of as one day so that I have an even number of days

and I'm going along in pencil here and adding an M for Monday and a T for

Tuesday etc and then I'm going over it with my pigma micron and I'm doing that

faux calligraphy style for these letters so I'm thickening each downstroke and

then what I'll do is that downstroke is left white and I'll just do some very

small lines to fill in so just nice detail but nothing too complicated I'm

also going to draw a line here for the notes and as I always say if you want to

draw a nice straight fairly straight line just pull the pen towards your body

so you can't see it in the shot but I'm actually standing to the right of the

journal and would be pulling the pen towards myself and that just helps

create a line that looks fairly straight I'll create this section for notes so

just things I want to keep in mind over the course of the week and I've also

used that pen pulling towards your body technique to draw fairly straight lines

underneath all of the letters and then I've just put a little piece of washi

tape at the top there and just cut it so that it's flush with the side of the

page I just write the the weekly date next

I'm just gonna jump back out of the January section and go back to the

yearly section and show you how I did these little calendars so you're just

writing the seven days of the week across each one in its own grid box a

simple underline with the month across the top and then you just write out the

grid of numbers there I mean this is pretty straight forward but just in case

you were sort of like oh it looks you know complicated it's really that dot

grid paper that allows me to keep things really straight in nice rows and columns

and honestly the page at a glance you would barely even see that those dots

are there and then I'm just using my nice chisel tip peach marker to

highlight and give some you know definition in color I decided to come in

with a light pink marker on my January at a glance and add a little more color

on this page and you could take that or leave it so last thing I want to talk

about here is the title page for the month and every month I'm gonna do a

title page on the left-hand side of the monthly layout or the month at a glance

and I'm starting this one with a nice big rectangle again negative space it

always looks good and I'm writing hello January and hello is in a simple print

and then January is going to be in our cursive or our fauxligraphy so I just

practice that in pencil once it was centered and looked the way I wanted

then I went over it with my pigma micron and I decided to I went very bullet

journaly on this I was like I'm gonna be inspired by all the stuff that I see

on Pinterest and on Instagram and I decided to do the cranes and for this

one I just looked up pictures of paper cranes on Google Images and I just

copied from that and actually any line drawing any contour drawing or drawing

that is just lines if you're having trouble with illustrating or you're just

getting started these are really fun and easy to copy and I know I've said before

on the channel one of the ways that I learned to draw when I was a kid was

from practicing from comics so I loved Betty and Veronica and I would draw I

could draw Betty so and not write up the bat but because

she's a simple line drawing once you get it you get it and it's gonna look right

it's not ambiguous the way a photo or a still-life in real life is so these

cranes are really fun to draw they're just made up of lines check Google

Images and just have your phone or whatever print out of them right there

with you and just draw from what you see I started with mine in pencil and then

of course went over them in pen once I was happy with them and I'm basically

gonna leave you today just with the shot of me finishing my month title page

we'll call it let's call everything a title page it's

like I'm in grade six anyways guys I also have a giveaway today and the

giveaway is for a set of paper microns from Sakura these are the best artist

pens if you're doing detail work like the type that you're doing in a bullet

Will My Advertising or Marketing Campaign WORK? - Duration: 5:59.

hello my name is Lakshay Behl and today I want to talk to you about something that

people keep asking me all the time people keep sending us their marketing

campaigns and their marketing ideas and the one question they have that is

common across the board is will it work this is my idea can you tell me whether

or not this will work and today I want to address that question for some of the

most commonly presented campaigns that I see across my desk but first download

our six-point strategy formulation checklist that you absolutely need if

you are the owner or leader of a small or medium enterprise and are looking to

create a new strategy or to reformulate your strategy so as to work with a new

one okay the most common question that I get asked all the time is hey this is

the video that I am working on right now this is the article that I'm writing

right now this is the ad campaign I'm working on right now what do you think

about it will it work or not and most commonly

these are people who are probably dabbling into a new sort of media by the

way I did a video on media and testing your media platforms a few days ago and

you can find a link to it right here on one of these cards here or here

somewhere and you can also find a link to that in

the description below which basically talks about how you should be trying out

new forms of media so if you are trying out new forms of media all power to you

you're on the right track but here's what I found people who are getting into

trying out new sorts of media who are trying to go on a new platform and

trying to work it out and trying to find out if that can be a viable platform for

them to reach their audiences or to reach new audiences and to wider their

customer base well they tend to be very skeptical and very afraid and I have the

perfect answer for you and it's the same answer everybody who asks me this

question receives it's this why don't you test it out

tell me now I'm not trying to be cute but really that's all there is to it I

cannot tell you if a particular marketing platform or a message or a

particular audience targeting is going to work for you that's the triangle of

marketing market message media I don't know if a particular combination is

going to work for you I cannot predict that and if anybody in this world could

predict that they would probably richer than Warren Buffett for our own clients

our go-to methodology is we take their existing advertising that's working well

on some other media platform and we take the targeting that we know is right for

them because we know who their customers are who their existing clients are we

take all of that and we bring it to the new platform and try to test the new

platform with the best performing ads that we've already got if it works if it

even comes close to breaking even we're good we try out more new ads and more

new formats if it doesn't we move on to another media platform after having

spent a set amount of money on testing that platform so that's all there is to

it if you want to find out if a new marketing idea or angle that you have

works spend a little bit of money and today you don't have to spend a lot of

money because you can get started with as little as five to ten dollars a

day on each advertising campaign and if you want to find out whether or not it's

going to work for you well go ahead and test it out that's the only way of

finding that out the world's most brilliant advertiser or copywriter does

not have the answer to that the world's most brilliant advertiser or copywriter

will tell you the exact same thing that I'm telling you right now they're not

going to try to make a prediction and come out looking like an expert because

they know that it's equally likely that a campaign that worked on one media

platform might just not work on another media platform for your particular

business and just because one of their clients has had success with one

platform doesn't mean all of their clients are going to have success with

the very same platform so keep that in mind when you're testing test small

tests quickly and you know what you're gonna fail a lot more than you're gonna

succeed in fact abide by the 80/20 compounded rule 80 percent of all your

successes come from 20% of your tests but you can

compound that so you apply square to both sides of the equation and the

square of 80% is 64% and the square of 20% is 4% so 64% of all your successes

are going to come from 4% of all your tests to take it even further instead of

applying a power of 2 apply a power of 3 and now what you have is this equation

51.2% of all your successes are going to come from 0.8 that's 0.8% of all your

tests in other words more than half of all your big fins are going to come from

less than 1% of the tests so if you perform only 3 tests and then give up

then really you're shooting yourself in the foot because what you ought to be

doing is testing 2 to 3 new campaigns every single day and when you do that

sooner or later you're going to stumble upon a campaign that works for you and

my campaign once again I mean a combination of market which is who

you're targeting message which is what you're saying and media which is the

platform or the method of message delivery my name is Lakshay Behl and on

behalf of the entire Western team I welcome you to download our six-point

strategy formulation checklist that you need for your small business in order to

formulate your strategy or to reevaluate your strategy

you

Crochet Doll Pants Tutorial - Duration: 16:15.

Hey everyone!

I'm Lizfaerie and today I'm going to show you how to make basic clothes for your crochet

dolls.

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make a pair of basic pants for your doll.

This pattern is really easy to customize to any size doll.

But I'll be making mine to fit these dolls, my realistic body doll and my basic doll.

Some things you'll need for this tutorial are:

A crochet hook.

You can use any size you like, I'm going to use a size E (3.5 mm)

A pair of scissors A yarn needle to sew in your ends

You'll need some bobby pins or stitch markers to keep track of your stitches

And you'll need yarn.

You could really use any yarn to dress your doll, but I find a thinner yarn works better,

because it won't add too much bulk to your doll.

So I'll be using crochet thread.

If your doll is small enough, you could also use embroidery floss.

And if you'd like a written pattern, you can find one in my Ravelry store.

The link is in the description below.

I'm going to start with a foundation chain that's the same width as the doll's waist.

To make it easier to make the leg holes later, I'm going to use a number divisible by 2.

So first, I'm going to make a slip knot.

And I'm going to leave a long tail at the very beginning of the work, so I can use the

tail to sew the front of the pants closed when I'm done.

And now, I'm going to create my foundation chain.

For my basic doll, I chained 20.

And for my realistic doll, I chained 18.

If you want, you can use pins to make it easier to find the size chain you need to make.

Now, to begin the row, I'm going to chain 1.

That's going to count as the 1st stitch of the row.

Then I'm going to single crochet in the 3rd chain from the hook.

I'm going to begin every row like that for the first part of the pants, so I can work

in rows.

Then I'm going to single crochet into the remaining chains.

If you want, you could continue repeating rows of single crochet until you have the

length you want for the waistband of the pants.

For my realistic doll, I added 1 more row of single crochet for the waistband.

For the realistic doll, since the rear of the doll is larger, I'm going to increase

the rows until the pants are the same width as the doll's rear.

To find the amount of times I need to increase, I'm going to count the total number of stitches

in the row.

And divide by 6.

And I'm going to increase by the resulting number.

(Don't worry if your row doesn't divide evenly by 6.

Just make sure to add 6 increases throughout the row).

Continue to increase 6 times per row until the width of the doll's rear is reached.

For my realistic doll, I increased for 2 rows.

In the first row, I increased every 3rd stitch; and in the second row, I increased every 4th

stitch.

If width of doll stays the same at the rear, like my basic doll, don't add any increases

or decreases, but skip this step.

Next I'm going to keep single crocheting until I get to where the width of doll begins to

narrow for the end of the rear.

For my realistic doll, I single crocheted for 1 more row.

And once the rear of the doll starts to get smaller, I'm going to start to decrease.

Just like when I was increasing, I'm going to do 6 per row.

But this time, I'm going to place all the decreases at the very middle back of the work,

so that I'm just decreasing the back, and not the front and sides.

For my realistic doll, I only decreased for 1 row: So I single crocheted 9 until the middle

back.

Then I decreased 6.

If you want to learn some ways to decrease, check out my increasing and decreasing tutorial.

Next single crocheted 9 more to finish the row.

If you want to, instead of decreasing, continue to single crochet as normal to elongate rear

for more straight body shape, or if you want the pants to have a looser fit.

For my basic doll, I'm just going to single crochet 4 more rows, until I get to the end

of the rear, since the width stays the same for the entire rear of the doll.

In the next row, I'm going to start to work in the round, to create the leg holes.

First I'm going to single crochet into last stitch of the previous row.

And I'm going to go ahead and mark that as the new first stitch of row.

Then I'm going to single crochet into the rest of the stitches of the row, until I get

back to the first stitch.

And in this row, I'll finish the leg holes.

First I'm going to count the total stitches left in the row.

Then divide that number by 2.

Now, for every 12 stitches in row, I'm going to chain 1. for both my dolls, I just needed

to chain 1.

Then I'm going to count, starting with the next stitch, half the number of stitches I

had in the row.

And I'm going to skip all but the last stitch.

So single crochet into the last stitch counted.

(And mark that stitch as the first stitch of the row).

For the realistic doll, I had 24 stitches in my row.

So I chained 1 and skipped the first 11 stitches of the row.

And single crocheted in the 12h stitch.

For the basic doll, I had 20 stitches left, so I chained 1 and skipped the first 9 stitches

of the row.

And then single crocheted in the 10th stitch.

Now I'm going to single crochet into the rest of the stitches of the row, including the

chain I made in between the 2 leg holes.

I'm also going to mark the stitches of the previous row that I worked into at the middle

front and the middle back, so the stitches worked into on either side of chain.

Because they'll each count as a stitch when working the other leg.

And finally, I'm just going to keep adding rows of single crochet until I reach the length

I want for the leg of the doll.

For my basic doll, I just single crocheted for 5 more rows to complete the leg.

But for my realistic doll, since the legs are much longer, I single crocheted for 25

more rows.

When I get to the length I want, I'm going to slip stitch to first stitch of row to end

the work.

Cut off my yarn, and sew in the end.

And now I'm going to make the other leg.

I'm going to pull up a loop using the same yarn into one of these skipped stitches at

the base of the hips; I'll start at the front.

And make sure that you're working your stitches in the same direction as before, from this

side to this side.

Then chain 1.

And that's going to count as the new first stitch of the row, so I'm going to mark it

with my bobby pin.

Then I'm going to single crochet into each of these stitches for 1 row, including these

stitches that I marked earlier that I've already worked into, and into that chain I made in

the middle.

Alright, I've gotten to the marked stitches at the middle.

So I'm going to work into that first marked stitch.

Then into the chain in the middle.

And then into the last marked stitch.

And now this leg should be the same number of stitches as the leg on the other side.

Now I'm just going to continue to add rows of single crochet until this leg is the same

length as the other leg I've already made.

And now the pants are done.

Now I just need to sew the front of the pants closed.

And now both dolls are done.

HOW TO MAKE 2018 YOUR YEAR!! - Duration: 6:49.

Hey guys, we're Blitzbros and today we're going to tell you how to make 2018 your year!

HELLO! Hi peoples.

If you're new to this channel we're Blitzbros

and this is the BLITZBASE, sort of. This year we're giving it huge upgrades and

renovations and it's going to be so awesome and super cool. Yeah guys the

BLITZBASE is going to be so much better when we're finished construction. Yep! But, this

video isn't about what we're doing in 2018 but how to make 2018 your year! We've been scouring the Youtubes. All of them.

To find the greatest advice of 2018. We're going to share some of that wonderful and

great advice to you, in this. And we're going to teach you how 2018 can be your year!

Let's do it! The problem is 92% of people fail to hit

their new year's goals and why? People love to procrastinate.

Just quickly, he sounds like the guy from man's not hot. Minus 1 + 3, quick math. It's amazing!

92% of people fail to hit their new year's goals and why? People love to procrastinate.

Well, I fully agree with man's not hot man. He's saying that 82% of people... it may have been 92... Quick maths...

Where did he get 92% from? I'm sorry Blitz Nation, but of the 2000 and something of you, 92% of you are going to fail this year!

We're going to move on.

So let's get started. You will need a pen and a notebook or a piece of paper. I need a pen. I need a notebook! Guys, we're failing 2018!

Well, let's keep watching and see what she says. Maybe we don't need it. Don't think that you have to do

exactly what I'm saying because this video is guidance only I'm not telling

you what to do I want you to work out what works best for you because what

works for one does not work for everybody. Okay to make 2018 your year just

do something. Or totally don't. Just whatever. Yeah! Let's move on. Yep! Number two is to stop

looking back. No more coulda woulda shoulda. Stop looking back! The biggest

reason that New Year's resolutions or that good habits are broken is because

people have these moments of weakness constantly. I'm having a moment of weakness! Be strong! You know the people he's talking about are probably not part of the Blitz Nation.

If you are weak and are not part of the Blitz Nation smash that subscribe button and ring the bell

to be a part of the Blitz Nation. BING!!!! Yeah guys take this advice into your life if you are weak...

Be strong! And aware of your moments. Next! The fourth tip that I have for 2018 is

to have a monthly meeting check ups with yourself as well as quarterly. Hahaha... have

monthly meeting check up for yourself. A few moments later

Hi. Hi. How are you? Pretty good. How are you? Good. Just doing my monthly meeting

check up with you. Looking good. You too handsome. See ya! Bye!

Alrighty then. Shall we move on? Let's move on.

Peace!!!

Peace!!! That's good advice. In 2018 you just need to be peaceful. Peace... ful!

I even get emotional around this time of year. I'm like, today is the first

day of the rest of my life! It's so true! Every day is the first day of the rest of your life! So live it!

Lil. I'm really going through a big time right now.

Shall we move on? Yeah.

write a love letter to yourself this is something that I recommend everyone do

because it helps enhance and build self-love. I need to write a love letter

to myself and nobody else will do it. Wow that's a sad way of looking at it.

I was thinking more like, I should write me a love letter because I love me!

Wow that's. Okay. Yeah. It sounds weird but maybe she's right. So to make 2018 your

year... Comment down below a love letter to

yourself. Give yourself a motto for the year... a quick line, a quick word something

that you can say to yourself and that's gonna be the motto of 2018. Potatoes!

That's my motto for 2018. My motto... I'll need a minute to

think about it. I think... no I got nothing. So any single time that you feel

yourself slipping or you don't want to take action you say the motto to

yourself and it gives you got just.

Potatoes!!!

So, to make 2018 your year... Potatoes!

Your motto could be Hakuna Matata!

Hakuna Matata, means no worries, for the rest of your days!

No! No! No! Let's watch this last guy! Last but not least let's commit to having

some fun in 2018 ladies and gentlemen. I think these guys really on to something

BOX HILL Happy Valley | Best National Trust Walks England | What You Need To Know - Duration: 10:01.

Hello, we're at Box hill, it's raining, it's grey, and it's cold. This is a National Trust place so they

have a car park. The car park is not cheap.

Normally there'd be pay and display machine. So I would advise you to bring cash.

We've paid for parking all day and it was six pounds, but it is free if you are a

National Trust member so that's something to consider. Four pounds for four hours.

But we think we might be slow. Well speak for yourself...and I won't be waiting for you.

It's also really muddy. I'm looking at lots of people's feet and

some people look disgusting so goodbye! Hello wellies.

Okay so we just spoken to the very helpful National Trust volunteers which

are very prominent at the end of the car park, yes there in that little hut?... Hut!

They have advised us the route we wanted to do is about four hours long which

will probably take us into darkness so we don't want to be walking in the dark. We don't no.

So we're gonna come back and do that one. But they've advised the ones we

should probably do, which are about an hour and a half each, are the Happy Valley

walk, and the stepping stones but the stepping stones are under water,

but it's alright because we've got wellies on.

Okay let's go!

The first thing that we noticed is that this is definitely something for all the

family. If you're looking for wild adventures then on the adventure factor

scale we're looking at a 1 out of 10 I would say. It's very easy, it's very clear

exactly where you're going, and there's lots of dogs, lots of kids, there's lots

of people. So it's definitely something you can bring the kids along to and just

enjoy with the whole family. It's a nice new year's day walk. Yes. When you're hungover.

not that we are because we were actually quite good weren't we? Only a few drinks.

So box Hill is, as far as my research tells me, is on the North Downs, and you

have lots of butterflies here. I'm not sure we'll see anything today because it's

quite cold. And the beauty of it is that we're only half an hour away from home.

We drove here in half now. We live in Surbiton and so I think you can also get

train down here quite quickly out of London. I'm enjoying eating my hair.

Also really interesting looking cows. Weird. Weird looking cows.

You've got a window here which would be a tight squeeze to get in. Think it looks

structurally unsound. We could look for the door... look for the door, look for the

door. Oh I think it was here and it was blocked in. I have solved the mystery but

it's got a tree stump in it so it must have had a big tree in

it... that's weird. What is the meaning of this? It has to be

some sort of lookout right? Its broadwoods tower on Lodge Hill and the tower built

around 1817 stands above Juniper Hall. That's juniper Hall down there I think.

that's the former Broadway family home.

It's a bit steep and a bit muddy so it's a little bit slippy. I don't know if you can see this but

those tree trunks are like orange. You did Geography. Why are they orange?

Guys if any of you know why there are orange tree trunks then put it in the comments

below. Getting a bit warm. A little bit of a... not a steep hill but just a long

uphill climb. Obviously not a problem for us fit young adventurers. We're still climbing

up I would say it's gone really quiet now.

so I'm guessing most of the people turned around at the steep steps and

just went back, and it looks like it's never-ending.

So you really know you've made the right choice with wellies when you come across

a sight like this.

Now I haven't ever fully waterproof tested these willies so let's just hope...

ok no that's just a bit cold, I thought it was wet, it's just cool.

Phew! Still dry. It looks like there's a nice little pub there, do you want to stop and

have a bite to eat Nicolas? No! No! he's pushing us on. Now hang on, is it that way or is it this way?

I just do as I'm told.

So are we lost Nicholas or we're just gonna.... Do we need the map? Or are you going to... Oh that's a good idea.

Here, so we've got to go down this way.

He is such a slave driver. I asked if we could have a nice sit-down: cup of tea -

er, eat our sandwiches, nice not a restful picnic on Year's Day, and what's he

making us do? Eat while we walk.

As luck would have it we are now able to

eat our lunch in "stile" - See what I did there - a bench has just appeared out of nowhere,

which is basically the universe's way of saying we should sit down and eat. this is

where the danger happens. It wouldn't normally be a problem its just cos it's slippy and it actually moves.

Ahh I got mud on my hands. Yeah, use the, use the emmm, bar.

Nicholas, I've got a question for you. What's the difference between an

amendment and an addendum?

An amendment is change. And an addendum is to add.

Okay, okay so we want to make an amendment to

what you've just seen. We showed you this lovely little bench that overlooks the

North Downs for the Happy Valley walk trail. Erm but it appears that we

actually took the wrong path so where Nicholas took over navigating and said

it's fine it's this way, in fact it was on the wrong route. It wasn't clear I

will say that in his defense but we ended up on the red route so the actual

viewpoint is on the red route not on the Happy Valley route. So we're just

adjusting now. We have also decided that we're not (ahhh)

going to stand our feet - we've also decided that we're not going to join the

two walks together that we wanted to do initially. The stepping stones will have

to wait for another video which I'm doing another day. We're just going to

finish the Happy Valley walk once we get back on track and that's because it's

muddy and it's cold and it's getting dark. Because we... obviously New Year's Day we

just got up a little bit later than we would normally (A lot later than normal)

well yes a lot later, we were 5 hours later than we normally would

definitely ready for the pub. Climbing uphill. Behind us is beautiful scenery. I have just put my

hat and scarf back on but I might need to take it off again in a second.

Nice butt. It's a great exercise for the thigh and the gluteus maximus. What's

that coming over the hill is it a viewpoint? Gatwick eight miles in that

direction. Nicholas? Yes? If I'm not mistaken that

signifies the end of that trail (You mean time for the pub?) that's what I mean!

First Box Hill hike. Cheers!

Join us again hopefully very soon for another one. See ya later!

Join the adventure by SUBSCRIBING!

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting Prevents Failure - Duration: 3:35.

Hey, are you setting goals in your business or your personal life, but you're struggling to set goals that actually drive results

I'm gonna give you my thoughts on that today.

All right, we're all trying to accomplish things in our life, whether it's our personal life,

maybe your health going to the gym or your business, maybe you're trying to 10x your sales.

But we all struggle with this idea of setting goals that motivate us that stretch us

But they don't demotivate because maybe they're unrealistic or maybe they're unclear this is something

I've struggled with in my own business my own personal life

And what I want to share with you guys today

Is this acronym that I learned in business called S.M.A.R.T. and this smart acronym stands for specific measurable attainable?

relevant and time-bound

When you look at your goals whether it's for your personal life

Or your business you want to look at them through the lens of this acronym are your goals

specific? you want them to be crystal clear in what you're trying to obtain

You want to make sure this is your roadmap of where you're trying to get to?

Second is are your goals measurable. You don't want to set a goal

That's unclear like your goal could be I want to grow sales

That's not measurable when you get to the end of the year if you grew by 10 sales or one sale

What's the difference? You want to set a clear measurable goal that you want to grow your sales by 10%?

You want your goals to be attainable so when you look at setting your goal you want to set a goal

That's actually realistic that you have a shot, but at the same time you don't want to set a goal

That's easy because you don't want to get to achieving that goal

And it's anti-climatic and you lose the chance of winning what I encourage you is set a goal and set a stretch goal

You hear Grant Cardone talk about 10x-ing set your 10x goal your stretch goal, but also set something?

That's attainable for you that you still stretches you a little bit

So you can win and celebrate that small win and once you celebrate that small win it puts you in the mindset of?

Achieving that BHAG, that big hairy audacious goal as you go from small win to small win

Next is you want to make sure your goals are relevant. This is really twofold one

Is is it's relevant to your life and relevant to your career,

Operations are your goals leading you and directing you to the life you want to live ?And then second are your goals

Relevant to your skill set your expertise?

This is especially

essential for managers and leaders out there when you look at your

Employees you want to set goals that are relevant to their skill set to their expertise so they can have complete ownership

the last thing you want to do is set a goal for someone for them to get a raise or for them to get a

title and

all of a sudden they don't have control over that goal because it's not in their wheelhouse and

Then last but not least you want to set a goal

That's time bound you have to set a deadline on your goals this deadline is going to create urgency for you. It's ultimately

It's always said that you know the fuel of creativity is

Procrastination once you put a deadline on something it gets that urgency and allows you the ability to reverse engineer

That in order to get here in a year

I have to do this in a month this in a week this in a day this in an hour

So you want your goals to be time bound so there you have it guys

There is the SMART acronym when you set your goals design them to be smart design them to be Specific,

Measurable, Attainable

Relevant, and Time-bound. If you like these tips subscribe to our Youtube channel, of course comment below

Let me know your thoughts, check us out on Facebook and Instagram, but most importantly Take Action On This Today!

How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk - Adele Faber, Elaine Mazlish (Summary) - Duration: 9:05.

How to talk so kids will listen & listen so kids will talk

By, Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish Are you having trouble dealing with your child's

negative feelings.

Does your anger get the best of you sometimes and you end up being hurtful?

Is your child just not listening anymore?

This is the book for you.

It teaches you how to be a more effective parent; engaging cooperation from your children,

and resolving family conflicts while still maintaining peace.

It does this through five major areas: Helping children deal with their feelings

Alternatives to punishment Encouraging autonomy

Praise And Freeing children from playing roles.

Let's start with: Helping Children Deal with Their Feelings

We've all been there, our child expresses anger, frustration, or disappointment and

we just brush it off with statements like: "You're just overreacting because you're

tired."

"There's no reason to be so upset" "Didn't you realize that was going to

happen?!"

But you wouldn't like it if you complained to your spouse or a friend about an incident

that made you uncomfortable and they just brushed it off as if your concerns were nothing.

The way kids feel affects their behaviour.

When you deny a kid's feelings, it can exacerbate problems.

It teaches them not to know what their feelings are, and not to trust them.

So how can we avoid doing this with our children?

The next time your child expresses his or her feelings, try the following four tips:

1.

Listen quietly and attentively 2.

Acknowledge their feeling with a word.

"oh… mmm…

I see…"

Sometimes they already have a solution, they just want to make sure you're in tuned with

them.

3.

Give the feeling a name "Oh what a shock" 4.

Give the child his wishes in fantasy.

"I wish I could make the rain stop so that I could take you to the playground!"

That way, they won't see you as part of the problem they're acting out over.

And remember: All feelings can be accepted, but certain actions must be limited

Let's say your child crosses the limit, then what can you do?

This brings us to: Alternatives to Punishment

It's easy to run to things like time outs and grounding when your child is driving you

crazy or isn't listening, but these only fix the problem in the short term and demoralize

the child.

Bad behaviour is a problem, not a character flaw.

If your response to their behaviour makes them feel bad about themselves, you've taken

the focus off the situation which can be improved and put it on something a lot more complicated.

Instead, we want to enlighten and instruct our children.

So some alternatives to punishment are: 1.

Express your feelings strongly, but do it WITHOUT attacking character.

For example, "I'm furious that my new saw was left outside to rust in the rain!"

2.

State your expectations.

Like, "I expect my tools to be returned after they've been borrowed"

3.

Show the child how to make amends.

"What this saw needs now is little steel wool and a lot of elbow grease."

4.

Offer a choice, "you can borrow my tools and return them or you can give up the privilege

of using them.

You decide" 5.

Take action.

In this case it would be putting locks on the toolbox after your child abuses their

privileges.

6.

Problem solve.

Brainstorm solutions with them until you come up with a compromise.

I noticed a lot of books offer solutions on what to do with your child when they've

done something wrong, but rarely do books mention how to get your child to cooperate

willingly.

This book does that.

Here's how: 1.

Describe what you see, or describe the problem.

For example, instead of saying, "You better not throw the wet towel on the bed", just

describe the problem, "there's a wet towel on the bed"

2.

Give information "the towel is getting my blanket wet" instead of "You're ruining

my blanket" 3.

Say it with a word "the towel!"

4.

Describe what you feel.

"I don't like sleeping in a wet bed" It's not only about their feelings you know!

5.

Write a note.

(please put me back so I can dry)

So we went over Feelings and Punishment.

The next two sections further build your child's self esteem and self confidence.

But, it's really important to keep a balance between them.

Let's start with Encouraging Autonomy

When we allow our child to be completely dependent on us, it can lead to feelings of helplessness,

resentment, and frustration.

Instead we want to: 1.

Empower our children to make choices.

Give them 'pre-approved by you' options.

So let's say, "Are you in the mood for your dress pants or jeans?"

2.

Show respect for a child's struggle.

"A jar can be hard to open.

Sometimes it helps if you tap the lid with a spoon."

Don't just open it for them.

It removes their agency in the world.

3.

Don't ask too many questions.

In can feel like an invasion of privacy.

Your child will talk about what they want, when they want.

4.

Don't rush to answer questions either.

It's their chance to explore.

Instead, ask them what they think.

Or, 5.

Encourage them to use sources outside the home.

6.

And finally, never take away hope.

"So you're thinking of trying out for cricket!

That should be an experience."

The other side of the spectrum is: Praise

When we praise our child too much, it can surpass the line of confidence and end at

the child feeling entitled.

Here's how to keep a balance: The next time your child cleans their room

or shows you their artwork, don't just respond with "good job!"

"Fantastic, you're a great artist!"

Instead: 1.

Describe what you see.

2.

Describe what you feel 3.

Or Sum up the child's praiseworthy behaviour with a word.

So for the clean room you can say, "I see a clean floor, sorted legos, and books neatly

put on the shelf.

It's a pleasure to walk into this room.

That's what I call organization" Or for the artwork you can say "I like how

you put the circle over the zigzags, how did you think of that?

Focus on your child's work and efforts, not their traits.

This allows them to draw their own conclusions of what they may do with their talents, instead

of you confining them by telling them who and what they are.

Finally, we've arrived at the final section of the book.

Freeing Children from Playing Roles Do any of these sound familiar:

"stop being such a crybaby" "Ukh, you're so stubborn"

"All you do is complain.

You're such a complainer" Once you repetitively label a child something,

they start to see themselves in that label, and showing you just how stubborn they can

get, for example.

But never fear, there are ways to free children from playing these roles.

1.

Look for opportunities to show the child a new picture of him or herself.

For example, if your child has had destructive behaviour, you could say "You've had that

toy since you were three and it almost looks like new!"

Bye-bye destructive behaviour, (Put X on destructive behaviour)

2.

Put children in situations where they can see themselves differently.

"Sara, would you take the screwdriver and tighten the pulls on these drawers?"

(Put X on all-thumbs) 3.

Let children overhear you say something positive about them.

"He held his arm steady even though the shot hurt" (Put X on crybaby)

4.

Model the behaviour you'd like to see.

"It's hard to lose, but I'll try to be a sport about it.

Congratulations!"

(Put an X on sore loser) 5.

Be a storehouse for your child's special moments.

"I remember you were the first child on the block to ride a two wheeler bike" (Put

an X on uncoordinated) 6.

When your child acts according to the old label, state your feelings and/or your expectations.

"I don't like that.

Despite your strong feelings, I expect you to be a sport about losing."

(Put X on Sore loser).

As one father in the book put it, "To change a role, you've really got to be able to

put it all together – feelings, alternatives to punishment, autonomy, praise – the works."

Death in Paradise season 7: Viewers baffled over star's bizarre habit - did you notice it?

In the first episode, Diane Smith (played by Elizabeth Berrington) was seen falling from her hotel balcony in a suspected suicide.   But, DI Mooney (Ardal O'Hanlon) believed that she had actually been murdered and launched a full investigation.

However, as he interviewed Diane's fiance Philip Marston (Denis Lawson) and his children, viewers were distracted by one of their bizarre habits.   Many were quick to question why Pearl (Tanya Reynolds) was using the word "totes" in almost every sentence.

Is that really what posh people talk like, or just a way the writers have written the character so we hate her?  #DeathInParadise," one viewer questioned.  While another added: "I'm so glad #DeathInParadise is back, but a) it's taken me down a black hole in remembering where one of the actresses is from (the excellent series As If), and b) no one actually says 'totes' in real life." A third continued: "The writers of #DeathInParadise do realise that young people dont use the word totes.

In fact nobody has for at least 10 years…".

"Seriously does anyone say totes anymore? #DeathInParadise," someone else wrote.  A fifth meanwhile had clearly become infuriated as they simply tweeted: "TOTES!!! STOP!!! #DeathInParadise." It was later revealed that Pearl was one of the culprits along with her sister Karen (Jemima Rooper) and brother Stephen (Rob Heaps), and had simply wanted to stop Diane's wedding to their father.

Death in Paradise continues Thursday on One at 9pm.   .
