Waching daily Mar 2 2018

- There's three taboos in the car scene.

Slanty wheels, base model Camaros, and stretched tires.

So why do people do it, and where did it start?

Now obviously, stretching tires is not a new thing.

It's gained popularity probably within

the past five to 10 years, but nobody really knows

where it started, or why it even became a thing.

You go on any forum, any Facebook post,

any thread about it, and it is an argument

on both sides of the fence, and it's terrible.

Stretched tires came from a long time ago.

It started overseas, and within the Volkswagen community.

According to the German military installations document,

there were a few guidelines that you have

to meet in the U-Safe document to actually drive

your car in Germany.

A lot of these regulations included

having your license plates on the front

and rear of your vehicle, prohibiting

any sort of aftermarket lights on your car,

and of course, making sure that the tires

did not exceed the fender of your vehicle.

What resulted from that, was individuals wanted

to run wider wheels, lower offset,

and that pushed the wheel further out of the car.

Well what happens when you end up putting

a tire that would actually match those widths,

is that the tire would extend past the fender,

and they would get pulled over.

So, a lot of individuals started to run stretched tires

a size down or two sizes down to essentially

pull the tire within the fender to avoid

getting tickets in general.

Of course, stretched tires have been fought

for and against since the dawn of time.

And in fact, Engineering Explained did

an amazing job where they talk

about stretched tires and the actual dangers

of it, and a generalization term.

So, when you're looking at stretched tires,

you're probably not looking at a

performance-oriented point of view.

From a function point of view, you should not stretch tires

on your 17-inch wheels.

We're getting that disclaimer just right out of the way.

So why do people do it?

Two reasons, slidy-slide, and aesthetics.

From a drifting point of view, stretched tires

are easier to kick loose, have less sidewall bending

or flex, and overall are cheaper

than if they're going up to the proper size

when they are blasting these things

and just blowing them up every four laps.

Now, I know there's gonna be a ton

of drifters that are gonna go in the comments section

and try to argue with me about hipari tires,

and running wide tires and things like that,

but that's not what this video is for.

This video is trying to explain why people do it.

The second reason, and probably 90%

of the reason people do it, is for looks.

Nowadays, the world is wide.

Nine-inch-wide wheels is becoming

the standard for almost any sort of aftermarket wheel.

If you're running anything less than that,

you're likely not getting it right.

But people don't understand that a lot

of times with wide wheels come wide tires.

And, people just don't want to spend the money sometimes.

On top of that, when you're running

a wide setup, it does require modification.

Usually from order of importance

in terms of least amount of work

to most amount of work is something like this.

Stretching tires is probably the easiest

form of fender modification that's gonna allow you

to clear the things that you need to.

Rolling up to that is probably rolling

and pulling your fenders.

Then, modifying your inner fender liners

until finally, you end up cutting your fender liners

out, and then you go into metal fabrication

where you're actually cutting into your

fenders to make space.

Finally, going into over-fenders or fender flares

is the next step, until finally,

you upgrade to a wide body installation

to fit your wheels and tires.

It's much easier to run down a size

or two on your 2010 Subaru STI than

it is to remove your inner fender liners

and cut them all to pieces to fit a 275/40.

On top of that, stretching your tires

gives you less side-wall, it allows you

to see more focus on the wheel,

allows you to go lower to the ground,

just generally speaking, and of course,

helps people achieve that fender-to-lip look

that everybody wants so bad.

Overall, stretched tires, it's an aesthetic thing.

It's not necessarily a performance thing whatsoever.

And that's fine, you're welcome to build

your car however you want, whether you're building

it for a stance car show, or you're dragging

it down Brockville Speedway.

It's just gonna be something that you decide to do.

Just understand that when people

are stretching their tires, more times

than not, they're doing it for the aesthetic point

of view, and they're doing it to clear their fenders.

So what do you guys think about tire stretching?

Do you like it, do you not like it,

do you hate it, do you love it?

Illegal Aliens Are Angry At The Release of Trump's New Campaign Hat – Will You Buy One? - Duration: 5:39.

Illegal Aliens Are Angry At The Release of Trump's New Campaign Hat – Will You Buy

One?

After watching the left repackage illegals with the name "dreamers," the Trump campaign

decided to take the term back.

This concept was coined at President Trump's first State of the Union address on January

30th.

He pushed back against the campaign to make illegals seem more palatable to the American

public by stating "My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber

is to defend Americans — to protect their safety, their families, their communities,

and their right to the American Dream…Americans are dreamers too."

The idea by the left was to make these DACA recipients who were named "dreamers" seem

like helpless children who needed our support.

The problem with that is that many are no longer children and have done nothing to work

out their supposed desperate situation and become legal citizens.

Sadly, many of those illegals who are being given a PR makeover and made to seem like

innocents aren't as warm and fuzzy as we would like to believe.

Many are on welfare, not productive, and others are chronic lawbreakers, continuing the bad

habit they started when came.

To drive that point home, the President's campaign came up with a way to remind people

that it's not in the American dream to work hard to pay for other people to live off our

tax dollars.

According to The Hill, the Trump Campaign has launched another one of their iconic trucker

hats, this time the front says "American Dreamer" in bold lettering:The Trump campaign

store is now selling an 'American Dreamer' hat for $50, monetizing one of President Trump's

signature lines from his State of the Union speech last month.

The hat reads 'American Dreamer' across the front, has an American flag stitched onto

the side and '#MAGA' stitched onto the back.

The hat is 'proudly made in the USA,' according to the website.

During his State of the Union speech last month, Trump defended his administration's

hard-line stance on immigration, declaring 'Americans are dreamers, too.'

The comment was an allusion to the 'Dreamers' who benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood

Arrivals (DACA) program.

Those are individuals who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children, and are able

to stay and work here without fear of deportation because of the program.

The Trump administration announced last year it was canceling DACA with a six-month delay.

A federal court has blocked that decision, however, and the Supreme Court on Monday refused

to hear the Trump administration's challenge to that stay.

Congress, meanwhile, has been unable to reach an agreement on the future of the program

and its beneficiaries.

The Senate is looking for short-term solutions that would extend DACA, while the House is

considering a conservative bill from Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.)

The Trump administration has proposed giving DACA recipients a path to citizenship in exchange

for money for his proposed wall on the Mexican border and changes to two legal immigration

programs.

It was met with opposition from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle."

President Trump's slap in the face to the liberal brainwashing wasn't taken well by

the left.

They consider this to be his belittling the need to deal with the immigration problem.

Unfortunately for them, the opposite is true; he considers it very important to fix the

problem of immigration, he just doesn't plan to bow to their constant pressure or

let the new terminology affect his decision making.

One of the first out of the gate to bash the new Trump slogan was Think Progress.

They released an article titled Trump campaign sells hat with slogan embraced by white supremacists

with the tagline For $50, you too can advertise bigotry.

In this not so subtle swing at conservatives who don't support illegal immigration, they

attempt to unravel the workings of the Trump campaign:

"On the surface, the product seems perfectly innocuous.

"American Dreamer," after all, is a reference to one of Trump's most popular lines from

his first State of the Union address.

The phrase was seen as intentionally divisive and mirrored Trump's language last September

when he announced he would rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program

that provided legal protections for hundreds of thousands of those Dreamers.

"[Y]oung Americans have dreams too," Trump stated at the time.

The phrase 'Americans are dreamers too' was quickly embraced by white nationalists

following Trump's State of the Union speech.

Many of them made memes of the phrase, pairing Trump's words with stock images of white

people.

The timing of the 'American Dreamer' hats sale is curious, considering the deadline

Trump set for Congress to come up with a permanent DACA fix, March 5, is just around the corner."

It appears that the left is now not only supporting illegals, but they're also suggesting that

if you're a legal American citizen who dreams, and wants to wear a cap declaring as much,

then you're a white nationalist.

Once again, the left is redefining things to try and support their agenda.

But just like the acceptance of being called deplorable, we can accept this as a badge

of honor, knowing that we've once again upset a liberal apple cart.

Deplorable American dreamers got President Trump elected once.

How taking risks can advance your career - Duration: 1:16.

[MUSIC]

I think women should focus on taking risks to accelerate their career, because by not

doing so, I believe that they miss out on opportunities.

I took a risk about ten years ago.

In the midst of the financial crisis, I was managing a portfolio of high-yield bonds,

and I was also two months pregnant with my first child.

There was a lot of change at our organization that presented a new opportunity for me.

My knee-jerk reaction was that it wasn't a good time.

I ultimately took the role, and it ended up being a transformational point in my career.

To truly achieve leadership, you have to push yourself outside your comfort zone, and so

I think the first thing women can do is focus on taking action, in participating, in contributing,

in finding your voice, and sharing your voice.

My advice to women is to believe in yourself, and take action.

Quit overthinking, quit overanalyzing, quit being afraid of failure.

Have confidence in yourself, believe in yourself, and do it.

You can do it.

Hi everyone, welcome to another edition of Homebuyer's School.

Today I'm joined by Mutjaba Syed Manager Mobile Mortgage Specialist

with TD Canada Trust, and today the question we're gonna answer is,

What's the difference between open and closed mortgage rates?

So Mo, what is that difference?

Yeah, so it's a great question.

The difference the main difference between open mortgage and a

closed mortgage is that in open mortgage is there's not really a term attached to

it. You could actually leave that lender at any time without any penalties

incurred. A closed mortgage just means that technically you've signed a

contract with the bank to be there for a certain time period so if you

decided to go with a 5-year term you have to kind of stay with your 5-year

term and then decide after that if you want to stick with the same bank or kind

of go somewhere else, but with an open mortgage it's just--you can actually

move at any time without actually incurring any penalties.

So when should I pick an open versus a closed mortgage rate?

Yeah, so it's--mostly what I would recommend to my clients is that if

they're thinking of what's selling any time soon or leaving, or they're thinking

about moving out of the country or moving cities, an open mortgage is a very

good option at that time so you can get in for a very short time period and

actually get out without paying heavy penalties to get out. Once again it's a great

conversation to actually have with your lender at that time and let them know

about your future plans as well and that could help you determine what the best

rates are for you guys, if open makes more sense or close makes more sense.

Does an open or closed mortgage rate have anything to do with a fixed or

variable mortgage rate or completely simply separate things?

Yeah so there are actually--that's a great question, so we have an open fixed

mortgage rate and we also have open variable mortgage rates. They are--

predominantly it's going to be a little bit higher than the closed fixed

mortgage rates and closed variable rates, and the reason is because banks offer

discounts for clients--to attract clients when you're going with an open mortgage

rate, there's no loyalty, what banks technically finds so it's going to be a

little bit higher and technically in line with what all the banks are

offering, so it's not going to be a discounted rate at all you know, it will

be a little bit of a higher rate than the fixed, the closed fixed with a closed variable.

So in an open mortgage rate, say halfway through that term that you

signed, you can just switch to another bank?

Yeah absolutely, you could switch to a

different lender which you feel like has better rates for you, has better terms for

you. You can sell your home, you could do any of those things to actually get out of

that mortgage, without any penalties.

So why did the banks actually provide the

option of a open? Because wouldn't the banks want to you know, lock you into a

mortgage with that particular bank?

Yeah absolutely--

but I think at the end of the day what we want to do is we want to

actually give options to our clients, whatever it's going to be best fitted

for their needs. A lot of different life situations can happen where options are

a great thing to have. So for banks we want to be able to know

what's best for them.

So Mo do you have anything else to add in terms of

open and closed mortgage rates?

Yeah absolutely, I would just recommend

speaking with your specialist and bank or lender and see what's best for you, it

kind of fits in with your guys budgeting, with your plans

or future plans, and determine which kind of rates are going to be ideal

for your situation.

Perfect well thank you very much Mo.
