Cover Letter Layout - 2018 - Duration: 8:36.

So, I wanna talk about cover letters for a moment.

The harsh reality is this: there is simply a lot of discord in the industry when it comes

to cover letters, and when I talk about the industry, I'm not talking about coaching.

I'm talking about the recruitment industry, the HR industry, and even some hiring managers

out there.

You see, a few years ago, before the internet it was a given that you included a cover letter

for every resume that you were sending out through the U.S. Postal Service.

But today with online applications and applicant tracking systems, there may not even be a

place anymore for a cover letter.

And then you have all of these articles that are out there on the Web that are saying recruiters

and HR people simply are not reading cover letters because they don't have the time.

So, what do you do?

Well, you really only have four options.

I mean, the first option is this: you don't include a cover letter.

Well, most is not all, and there are recruiters; there are HR people; there are hiring managers

who still value the cover letter.

And if there's a position that you're applying for that really excites you, and you're a

great fit for it, and you're not including a cover letter and the competition is out

there, well you may be hurting your chances for the next step, which is being called in

for an interview.

So, you have to ask yourself, do you not want to send in a cover letter and take that risk?

The second option is that you do send in a cover letter.

You go out on the internet and you find a template to use and you fill it out.

Hopefully you don't just download the template and fill in the fields in the boxes but I

know a lot of individuals that do that and you go ahead and send it out.

I'm gonna be honest with you.

You're better off not even sending in a cover letter than doing that, and here's the reason

why.

Again, recruiters are saying they don't have time to read cover letters, and besides, they're

saying all the cover letters read the same way.

They're just a document where the individual brags to try and get into that interview stage.

If you're actually using a template and applying for the position, and the applicant tracking

system can upload that cover letter, well, I'm gonna tell you right now, ATS and templates

do not play well and that information will likely not even be parsed out and will just

get corrupted up there.

So you're probably better off not even sending in a cover letter than if you wanted to use

a template.

Or you're just writing the same thing that everybody else writes.

The third option is sending in a cover letter but making it very short.

Think e-note.

Now this could be a good method, especially when recruiters and hiring managers and HR

people say they don't have the time to read a cover letter because a four sentence cover

letter can be read in about a second and a half.

And the way you do this is you start out that cover letter with exactly what it is that

you're doing there.

Yeah I'm ... Dear John, or Dear Mr. Jones, I'm writing about the opening for.

One sentence, that's it.

And then hit the space, and your second paragraph is going to be only two sentences.

One sentence, which sells yourself.

So, I have over 15 years experience in, and you can say the industry or the position or

the skills.

The second sentence, you refer them to your resume for further information on your skills

and experience.

And then you hit the space again, and you end it out with your fourth sentence, which

is a call to action.

I look forward to hearing from you to further discuss my interest in this position, or further

discuss my skills and experience that can add value to this position.

However you wanna end it, but you end it with a call to action.

Four sentences, three paragraphs.

The first paragraph is one sentence.

The second paragraph is two sentences.

And the third paragraph was one sentence.

Why?

Because white space is your friend, I've said that in many other videos and this particular

cover letter or e-note if we wanna call it that can be scanned within about a second

and a half.

Works well for those individuals out there who say they don't have time for a cover letter.

The fourth option is something that's very new in the industry and it's called the disruptive

cover letter.

And so, the disruptive cover letter starts out something like this: Pretend for a moment

that I was applying for a career guidance counselor position at a local university.

And as a career coach, this is something I could actually do.

So, I would write a cover letter like this: Dear Mr. Jones,

I absolutely believe that people, unless coached, never reach their maximum potential.

Bob Nardelli, CEO, Home Depot.

Now, you notice I did not start this cover letter the way traditional cover letters start,

with that opening statement, "I'm writing about the opening for the career guidance

counselor position at your university."

No.

I actually started it with a quote.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a quote but what you wanna do is you wanna do something

completely different, and I'm gonna use the word disruptive.

You want to disrupt the reader from what he's actually expecting to be reading.

And then I go on to tell a story.

I'm not gonna brag.

I'm gonna be a storyteller.

And that's what disruptive cover letters do.

They tell stories.

So, for example: After almost 20 years in the information services

field, I decided to follow my passion and dedicate my career to making an impact and

difference in the lives of others.

My goal was simple: I wanted to help other people reach their maximum potential.

I was fortunate because I was able to take a part-time coaching business full-time while

I explore opportunities that would leverage my strengths in technology, leadership and

coaching, and most importantly would make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Your university offers this opportunity by allowing me to mentor others with the skills

and knowledge I have obtained over my 20 years in technology.

This is what I'm most passionate about.

And then I close out the cover letter with a simple call to action:

Please find my attached resume for your review, and I look forward to meeting you to further

discuss this opportunity.

Stories bring people together.

Bragging does not.

So, again, the industry out there, mainstream says that most recruiters, hiring managers,

and HR people don't have time to be reading cover letters.

I want you to think of that word most and realize it's not all.

So, I do advocate using a cover letter but I want you to use something a little bit different.

So, either go with a short four sentence cover letter or do a disruptive.

But definitely send out a cover letter.

So, I hope you found this video informative and useful, and if so, make sure that you

subscribe to this channel as I do upload a new career strategy every Tuesday.

A story to make you giggle - Duration: 5:46.

Hey everybody, how are you today?

I'm coming to you, Hi Molly my doggy decided to come and visit.

I am coming to you later than usual today. I've had a busy day

I've been trying talking to my mom a lot on the phone and trying to you know make some travel arrangements

Hey Brad, how are you? Hey Marc!

because

My family is about a six hour flight away from me hi Stephane

So I don't get to see them as much as I'd like to and I'm really excited that this summer

I'm gonna try and get over there to visit them

but the whole

Story that I wanted to tell you about to give you a little giggle is

It made me think it's a story about my dad that my mom told me today, and I will get back to that

But hey Stephane...

What got me thinking about why? I should share this story is that if you go back a few days ago

I did a video on

Sprink I think I called it sprinkle happiness, and it was all about how

You choose to kind of go through life, and and what you make of your day hi Alice

So if you haven't seen it go back and check it out

And the reference will make more sense to what I'm saying to you tonight, so here's the background of my parents

Like I said we're our last six-hour flight apart. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like to and

They are eighty-one years old they have been married for

61 years they were 20 years old when they got married

It's a long time right. It's a really good example for me to follow, too

But my dad in his 40s 50s developed Parkinson's

so

The point is that it has progressed and he's now in a home

In the last year and so it was really hard for them to get used to not being together

And he's on many medications and some cause hallucinations and some cause him to be dizzy

He's

So he's got his Parkinson's. He's also got

Macular degeneration so he can't see really well, so not only is he dizzy

But he can't see so he trips and falls and it happens all the time

he bangs his head, and you know they go to the hospital for stitches like it's

It's tough. It's a tough. It's a tough time of life for sure

But despite all that

my dad keeps his sense of humor and

This is why I have to share this story so the other day. He fell down like he always does

And my mom was telling me he fell down ok you have to understand

They're very prim and proper so the words repeating the story will also be very prim and proper, so he was on his bottom

He fell down. He was on his bottom and the nurse came running in and she's like oh my goodness

Are you ok and he said? Yes, I'm fine, but I think I cracked my bottom

Like really he cracked. He's got a crack in his bottom like really ok, so yeah

Like it just made me think that's hilarious like if you

If you um think that there's anybody that can

Complain about the situation. They're currently in he's probably one of them

But no he's still joking and he's still

Happy that he wakes up still breathing every morning and that he gets to see his wife

And his you know his kids and grandkids

And and he makes the best of his situation and he keeps the nurses in the residence

giggling all the time, so I had to share that story with you and then bring it back to

my video that I shared last week about

The sprinkle happiness cuz really your day is what you make it even

You know compared to that something going wrong in my day could be like peanuts compared to everything that my dad has to deal with

So it also made me realize I get my sense of humor from him

Because I'm always joking and laughing at myself and making people giggle and they're like oh, you're funny

And I'm thinking what did I do like I?

Okay, I didn't try but all right, so I I figured out I get it from my dad

And I appreciate that because he's pretty awesome

So that's just my little nugget to share with you today something to make you smile, and then realize

things aren't always as bad as they seem and

They are what you make them

so everyone try to stay positive try to find the humor in your everyday try to find the humor in the situation because

Stuff happens in life stuff goes wrong stuff is pretty. Icky sometimes, but find that silver lining and

Enjoy your day, so thanks so much for watching

I'm so glad you're all here if you catch the replay later then drop a comment below

Let me know if any of you are dealing with

This kind of situation if you have family that you know has Parkinson's is starting the dementia has Salut claudia

has all

you know those kind of things and how you deal with it if they if you find, you know the good moments in it and

Stuff like that dealing with hallucinations that sort of stuff do you find the humor in your day?

Do you find

You know the good points of their day to bring out, or is it them teaching you how to laugh at the current situation?

Alright, thanks again for tuning in I see you all tomorrow. Bye

A CREEPY HOUSE(Paranormal Activity) | 곤지암같은 소름끼치는 경험 | 국제커플 [Eng] - Duration: 16:11.

You're making me no more space to sit. kkk

Good afternoon. I'm Jay. I'm from Korea.

She's my fiance, Lina. She's from Polandia.

We're in Karimun Jawa Island.

We come to have holiday here.

For about 8 days.

We're going to share our story.

It's like...

Just

our

style...

Haa~

-English is... -Difficult.

Hahahah

Yesterday our accommodation owner recommended this beach.

That's why we discovered this place and come to visit here today.

-It was opened (private island)

That building was a hotel back then.

But it was abandoned.

That's why it more feels like an adventure.

Looks like a creepy house.

Yeah. A creepy house...like in Lombok...

Goosebumps.

Do you want to say about that creepy house in Lombok??

-It's very a long story. -Yeah.

But it was interesting.

Actually I didn't believe about real ghost.

-Yeah right.

But... kkkk (What actually happened?)

It made me goosebumps... (what actually happened that day?)

-We had experience about exorcism(?). -Exorcism?

-Isn't it exorcism?? -No.

-Paranormal activity. -Yeah. It's the best words for it.

I'm still goosebumps.

-It was a good accommodation. -Nice, too.

Because there is only one house on the hill.

And we enjoyed the accommodation during day.

But, at night!!

It feels weird.

Yeah. We kinda felt the presents of something.

We felt someone were looking at us.

You especially had such experiences like that several times, didn't you?

Yeah. I several times had feeling that someone was looking at us.

And... the most... (it makes me more goosebumps whenever I think about it)

hard situation to understand was...

the time when we wanted to go home..

we found something.

On the wall.

The day we were going back home.

After loaded all the beggages...

and said goodbye to the owner, we went to car, but then ...

Jay was surprised.

He could not say anything for awhile.

-What's wrong??

We were frozen seeing this, what did actually happen...

-Goosebumps... -Oh my God...

- How can ... -I do not know either.

...

- Mouse can't climb wall, right??

-Did a lizard do that??

Something creepy was happened.

This is the chocolate bar that I bought on Valentine day.

But at night there was noisy from this thing.

So I thought the mouse took it.

How could it move to this place...

Is this possible?

It's even new.

Our chocolate ...

This house is... a real ghost house...

I was really scared. Slightly in the evening ...

I felt like in 'Paranormal Activity'.

It was really scary. I did not sleep well in the evening.

I heard a lot of strange sounds at night.

It was really creepy.

-How...

You really need a lot of effort to do this.

I know...

And it's weird. It's really high.

And the walls are flat. There is nothing to climb.

Why is it here? There is another bigger hole.

It 's really weird.

Creepy.

If this was a mouse,

it would be a really small mouse.

How small mouse could climb with this heavy chocolate.

- And he did not even eat it. - Oh yeah ...

Like he had another purpose.

- It's weird. - I have no idea what happened.

But actually every night, I felt uncomfortable here.

With the weird sounds, and something else...

It felt like there was a real ghost living here...

How about you ??

When I was downstairs, when I tried to sleep on the first floor...

- You said you often saw some shadows. -Yeah.

- What was that? -I do not know.

I thought it was a dream because I was so tired.

- So goosebumps now. - I thought you were awaken.

I didn't know whether I should go upstairs or not.

I heard someone on stairs few times.

Creepy ... I just slept.

...

-I never wake up. -Never??

- I have never walked.

You didn't wake up to drink??

-You didn't? -Never. I did not.

What?????

-No way. -Really.

I didn't wake up until then you touched me here.

..what??

Because... (speechless)

- I never... - It was not about the stairs.

Because stairs sometimes make noises and it's normal because it made from wood.

- But I clearly heard. -In the kitchen on the 1st floor ??

-No! 2nd floor!! -2nd floor?? (the place where Jay slept)

We had a milk can. (on the floor next to the bed)

- And somebody tried to drink it. -Really?

It was moving. It was different sound.

And how could this thing move here??

(Couldn't say anything because of these unrealistic situations)

- Did not you wake up to drink? -Not at all.

I heard it clearly.

So I thought you were awaken up.

And I could hear sounds that came from the stairs.

But you know I never wake up to drink water.

Just when I want to go to the toilet.

I never drink because I will get pee.

-Oh, my God...

It is really like a movie 'Paranormal Activity' ...

- It's really weird. -Right.

Let's get out of here now.

Everyone... There is always an eerie story from this kind of cottage.

I can't believe it.

But I really wanted to leave this place soon.

- Because I feel weird... - You said you were uncomfortable.

Because of the weird sounds and weird feeling...

It felt like someone was looking at me.

Someone looking at you ?? Oh my goodness...

I was fine last night, i didn't wake up. I just woke up at 5 in the morning.

But on the first day I got up so often.

And we heard the chocolate bar was moving very clearly.

It was so loud.

- And it happened twice ... -Right.

(The chocolate bar was moved from the floor beside the bed to the first floor)

How it was taken outside?

This is really big and long.

You need a lot of effort to take it and place it.

It doesn't make sense.

-How about you pull out it from there? -No.

- Shall we try? Or just go? - Let's just go.

I really can not explain it to you guys.

I really liked this house.

I felt so scary at night. To be honest.

So I couldn't sleep well.

I could hear the sounds from the first floor.

Sounds like someone was moving.

I though it was because the house was made from wood so I could hear such noisy.

When Lina slept on the first floor,

she told me that I kept walking down the stairs. (I have never been doing such a thing.)

She said also I tried to drink water. (There is no such thing ever.)

Lina keeps looking a clue.

Do you want to find a clue?

I'm just looking for holes.

(Lina was wondering how the chocolate bar was moved from inside to the outside of the house)

But there is nothing. really...

It's really weird. Why here?

- You found a hole? - I'm trying.

-Here... - But this is a ground not inside.

(We decided to leave)

We need to get out of here soon.

I feel not so good.

Ah~ that chocolate bar. It moved out from the 2nd floor.

It was scary because

when we were sleeping, we heard some sounds.

- It was very loud. - I was really loud.

We put the chocolate bar on the floor next to the bed.

- We were trying to go sleep. - We heard some sounds.

And the sound was really loud and lasted a long time. (The sound was coming from the plastic that was moving from the side to the first floor)

And the sound was like someone pulling something??

Someone was trying to open that chocolate bar.

-Before that~ - Before that what ???

They took the chocolate bar from the bed to the stairs.

That's right. It was like sliding on the floor but it was really rapidly and loud.

We can't move something so fast without sound,

it was dragged from the side of the bed to the stairs and just dropped there.

- I thought it was because of the wind. From the fan. -Right.

- And I thought it was empty. -That's right. So easy to fly.

But after I checked it out...

It was a new chocolate bar.

It's really heavy ...

The wind cannot move it to the 1st floor...

And we thought maybe it was a mouse.

But we did not hear anything else.

We only heard a chocolate bar being moved.

It was not once.

The second time was the sounds that coming from the stairs. (right next to us.)

But it's really heavy. I do not think mouse can do that.

- Actually, we wanted to believe that the mouse did that. -Right.

Even if it was a mouse, it didn't make sense.

The chocolate bar was next to us.

Right. It's not typical of animals to get so close to the human.

We wanted to make some noise by hitting the floor to scare them.

But it came again.

If you still didn't believe to our story or other scary experience,

this is really not make sense.

Last thing.

The chocolate bar on the wall.

The walls were made of stone and had some gaps between.

And the chocolate bar was in a really high position.

- Like this. - It was put into the gap.

- And it was new. - Right.

Yeah ... kkk

- I tried to find out why. - We just got out from that place.

And talked about it in the car.

Still it didn't make sense.

If you have opinion about this, you can leave comment below.

It's really the most weird experience in my life.

We really thought that was a mouse.

Because the chocolate was gone the next day.

We though that some mouses just took and ate our chocolate bar.

But the next morning, the whole chocolate bar was on the wall ...

- Animals can't do that. - That's high ... it's impossible.

They don't have such a power to put in the gaps.

Okay.

If you have some ideas or opinions about this story,

you can leave it in comment.

We talked about Karimun Jawa and Lombok at once. kkkk

(Some cute moments in Lombok)

On the way back home we met a small puppy.

We could not just pass by, so we stopped for awhile.

Line moves that cute puppy to the more safe place.

- (local children) Hello ~ - Hey.

But the puppy come back to Lina. kkk

See you next time~ Bye~

Jeep Wrangler Artec Industries Under Armor - Bellypan Kit (2012-2015 JK 2 Door) Review & Install - Duration: 5:41.

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review of the Artec Industries Under

Armor bellypan skid plate kit, fitting all 2007 and up JKs.

There is a different version of this kit available for those of you with the two-door and a four-door

JK.

And, there are two kits available, one for the 2007 to 2011 and another for the 2012

and up JK.

So, make sure you get the right one for your Jeep.

Today we're gonna talk about the construction, some of the features, and of course, how to

get this kit installed.

This is for those of you who want complete underbelly skid plate protection.

If you install this kit, you'll be able to take your Jeep off-road and not have to worry

about damaging any of the soft underbelly of your JK.

This kit is also made mostly of aluminum, so it's going to be able to keep the weight

down.

Now, a kit like this is going to be fairly expensive, especially when you compare it

some of the steel skid plates on the market.

Aluminum is, of course, more expensive because it is both lightweight and strong.

Combine that with the fact that this kit includes skid plates for the entire underbelly of your

Jeep, and that all of the skid plates are designed to work in conjunction with each

other without modification, and you have a kit that is both incredibly functional, but

also, a little bit pricey.

This skid plate system is going to protect everything on the underside of your JK that

you would wanna protect.

You'll have protection for the oil pan, the transfer case, transmission, the front of

the exhaust, and of course, the gas tank.

All of those are going to be protected with individual skid plates that are designed to

be modular, yet work together.

This means, you'll be able to remove individual skid plates for service without having to

take apart the entire system.

Each one of the skid plates is made from quarter-inch 661 aluminum, and the brackets are designed

from three-sixteenths-inch zinc-coated steel.

All of the aluminum and the bracketry is C&C laser-cut, and bent on custom-rolled dyes

to give you plenty of strength.

Everything in this system was designed using factory CAD files to give you a precise fit.

All of the nuts are pressed into place to make removing and reinstalling each one of

the skid plates a one-tool simple job, and all of the bolts on the underside are countersunk

to give you a completely smooth bottom.

The only place that you might have a bolt head sticking out is if you decide to use

your factory JK crossmember.

However, if you go with the Artec Industries crossmember, it will be completely smooth

from the front to the back, without a single bolt head to get hung up on.

With this system, you don't even have to drop the gas tank to get it installed.

Everything just bolts into place.

Speaking of installation, I would give this a strong two out of three wrenches.

You are going to have to do a good bit of drilling and install a few nutserts to get

this bolted up in your Jeep.

So, if that's not something you're comfortable with, you will wanna take this to a shop.

However, if you're installing a skid plate protection that is this beefy, chances are,

you wheel your Jeep a lot, you're used to breaking it, and you're used to fixing it,

so I know a lot of you guys are gonna wanna tackle this job in your driveway, and that's

certainly an option.

Artec Industries includes really clear instructions on exactly what needs to be cut, drilled,

and how to get this stuff installed.

The first step in the installation is going to be removing any of the factory skid plates

that you have in place, except for that gas tank skid plate.

From there, you'll just follow the instructions carefully, holding up each piece of skid plate,

marking where you need drill, installing nutserts where they need to be installed, and slowly

installing one piece at a time until you have this entire kit installed.

The installation will probably take you around four hours, give or take, depending on the

tools you have at your disposal, and if you're doing this on your back in your driveway,

or if you're doing it on a lift.

You will need a handful of tools to get this job done, from a drill and some sharp drill

bits, to a cut off wheel to remove the part of the factory gas tank skid plate to, of

course, your traditional hand tools for all the nut and bolt hardware.

There are certainly a lot of benefits to having an aluminum skid plate system.

You'll get lightweight combined with strength.

However, along with those benefits comes a higher price tag, and especially when you're

looking at this much quarter-inch 661 aluminum, you're certainly going to have a hefty price

tag.

When you combine that with the fact that this was designed using the CAD software from the

factory Jeep for a precise fit, all of this adds up to an expensive system.

However, if you're even looking at a skid plate system like this, chances are it's because

you do a lot of hardcore wheeling, and when you consider punching a rock up through the

oil pan and the damage that could cause to the engine, or cracking the housing of your

transfer case, or your transmission, all of a sudden, spending around $1,500 for a bellypan

system like this ends up being cheap insurance.

So, if you're looking for a complete skid plate system that gives you the benefits of

aluminum, being lightweight and strong, and is also a modular system that allows you to

easily access the underside of your Jeep for servicing, this is a great option to take

a look at.

It's certainly going to be a more expensive than a steel skid plate system, but for the

benefits of aluminum over steel, and for the way that this is going to fit under your Jeep,

I think it's certainly worth the cost.

So, that's my review of the Artec Industries Under Armor bellypan skid plate kit, fitting

all 2007 and up JKs, that you can f

Who was Hannah Glasse? - Everything You Need to Know about Hannah Glasse. - Duration: 1:18.

The Search Engine Google is celebrating 310th Birthday of Hannah Glasse.

Today's Google Doodle features Hannah Glasse whipping up a batch of classic Yorkshire puddings.

Her recipe for Yorkshire pudding, among many others, is one of the earliest known ever

published.

Hannah Glasse was born in March 1708 and died on 1st September 1770.

Hannah Glasse was an English cookery writer of the 18th century.

She is remembered mainly for her bestselling cookbook, The Art of Cookery made Plain and

Easy, first published in 1747.

The book was reprinted within its first year of publication, appeared in 20 editions in

the 18th century, and continued to be published until 1843.

Glasse was christened on 28 March 1708 at St Andrews, Holborn, London.

Her mother is said to have been Hannah Reynolds, a widow.

Her father was Isaac Allgood, a landowner of Brandon and Simonburn, both in Northumberland.

He had recently married Hannah Clark, the daughter of a London vintner.

She once described her mother in a letter as being a "wicked wretch!"

During her childhood, Glasse formed a friendship with her father's youngest sister, her aunt

Margaret Widdrington, with whom she corresponded through most of her adult life.

The surviving letters are the major source of information about Glasse's personal life.

On 5 August 1724 at Leyton, Glasse married an Irish soldier, John Glasse.

Glasse's letters reveal that from 1728–1732 the couple held positions in the household

of the 4th Earl of Donegall at Broomfield, Essex.

Thereafter, it seems, they lived in London.
