Problem Solver or Strong Leader? | Rev Up You Business with Lindsay Slavin - Duration: 2:48.Hey Everyone, Lindsay Slavin here. Welcome to Rev Up Your Business!
My question for you today is: As the business owner, are you the Chief Problem Solver?
Every day do people come to you?
Your staff and your team and your crew and your guys -- do they come to you looking for the answers to
problems that they're having on the job site or in the office?
Would you like your team to take more ownership for the jobs that they're working on? Are you thinking:
"How come they can't figure this out?"
"I really would love it if they could just take care of these problems!"
Because what can happen is when they are continuing to come to you with their problems
and you're solving them, it takes up a LOT of your time
O.K. So, I want to share with you a strategy to help them improve their
ability to deal with problems, and your faith that they are making solid decisions and that your customer is getting the very best
Service and results, which, is why they hired you in the first place, O.K?
So next time somebody comes to you with a problem that they've got, say: "This has happened. What do I do?"
O.K. - Here's what I'd like you to do:
Send them off and say "Come back to me with three solutions."
"O.K.? Give it a think and come on back to me with three ideas that that you think will work here, O.K?"
And then when they come on back, say: "Great! Which one do YOU think is best?"
Right, it's about asking questions -- and asking and pulling the answer out of THEM
and if they're like: "Well...I don't know."
"Well...I don't know" is not really a good answer
...but they'll come up with one. Our brains are trained to come up with an answer
when given the space and the time to think about it. So give them the time & give them the space to think
about it -- ask them: "Which one do YOU think is best? What do YOU think we should do?
And then just...*zip* just let them think about it. And they WILL come up with an answer.
And it's going to be either a terrible answer or it's gonna be a great answer, O.K.?
And if it's not a great answer, just, you know...help guide their thinking on developing
What would be -- what would you do.
And tell them why. So that next time when they come to you and they come to you with their three suggestions
and you ask them: "Which one do you think is best?"
They're more likely to come up with the answer that you think IS actually the best one, O.K.?
So a winning team starts with strong leadership. And that doesn't mean that you have to be the "Chief Problem Solver", O.K.?
It means that you're training your team, and you're raising your expectations of them.
And by getting them to come to you with solutions, you're guiding their thinking, O.K.?
And you'll find that they'll come to you less and less -- that they are solving problems better and better
O.K. so that's it this for this week guys!
Resist the urge to be the problem solver and be a strong leader, O.K.?
Have a great week. See you next time!

Crystal Amerson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com | SML TV - Duration: 8:46.Crystal Amerson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com
Brian Westerfield Crystal Amerson thought she ate bad Chinese food, but instead gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!.
Crystal Gail Amerson, 29, of Pensacola, Florida was in for a big surprise after mistakenly believing she was having stomach pains from an order of bad Chinese food.
"Surprise, it's a boy!," were not the words Amerson and her fiancé, Brian Westerfield, expected to hear, though in a beautiful twist of fate that is exactly what happened.
The woman, who also has an 18-month old son with Westerfield, gave birth to a bouncing baby boy after calling an ambulance as the pains grew to be unbearable.
Heavy spoke with the father of the surprise bundle of joy, whom they named Oliver.
Here are the details you need to know:.
She Thought She Ate Bad Chinese Food, & Ended Up Giving Birth to a Beautiful Baby Boy.
Crystal Amerson is shown with her adorable baby boy, Oliver.
Westerfield told Heavy that his fiancee ate a General Tso chicken meal at a local Chinese restaurant at about 8:30 p.m.
Saturday evening.
The woman woke up at approximately 4 a.
, Westerfield said, and once the pains became too much to handle, she asked Westerfield to call an ambulance.
At 6:59 a.m.
on March 25, Oliver James was born in the back of an ambulance only a short distance from the couple's home, weighing in at 5.27 pounds and measuring 18.9 inches.
Her Fiancé Said There Were Few Signs, in Retrospect.
Though Amerson had no idea she was pregnant, in retrospect Westerfield told Heavy that there were a couple of signs.
He stated:.
She started having a craving for eating crushed ice the last month, which she did with our other son, Wyatt, while pregnant.
But with no real signs I guess we just didn't add it up.
Within the last week, I did feel her stomach felt hard once and I thought to myself, 'maybe we should take a pregnancy test.' But then I thought maybe it just stays after the first pregnancy or maybe she's getting fat and I don't want to be rude!.
Westerfield is a stay-at-home father to 18-month-old Wyatt, and is excited about the surprise addition to the family.
"I'm a stay-at-home, work-from-home dad buying and reselling household goods, yard sales and that type of stuff," he told Heavy.
"I literally just got done the day before rearranging stuff, donating and making more space, de-cluttering…I even moved Wyatt's crib from out of our bedroom to the living room and dropped it down to a toddler bed.".
Brian Westerfield is shown here with the couple's son, Wyatt.
In most cases, a woman will have an inkling that she is pregnant when she misses a monthly period.
However, Westerfield told Heavy it wasn't that simple for Amerson.
"I'm not sure she's had a period since we've been together the last few years," he stated.
"It was always irregular and she mentioned that after previous birth control when she stopped taking it that her 'monthly' pretty much stopped completely.".
She Had Irregular Periods & Didn't Gain Much Weight From the Pregnancy.
Brian WesterfieldBrian Westerfield posted to Facebook about his surprise baby boy.
Amerson said she gained only "a little bit of weight," and her fiance said her periods hadn't been regular since coming off of birth control.
"I gained a little bit of weight, but I think with my first baby I didn't notice either," Amerson told the Pensacola News Journal.
"I never gained that pregnancy shape, really.
And then I wear scrubs to work because I work at a retirement home for Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
So I guess the way they fit me as well, it was hard to notice anything or tell anything.".
The Baby Is Expected to Go Home Soon.
When asked how Oliver is doing, Westerfield told Heavy:.
He's healthy and we couldn't be more happy about that considering she wasn't doing the typical pregnancy routine.
Things like taking it easy, taking her vitamins and eating better…that kind of stuff.
He's eating more which is what the doctors wanted to keep an eye on before releasing him.
He hasn't had any complications.
He definitely has a special birth story that will be fun to tell for years to come.
The now-father-of-two said the hospital hasn't said when Oliver will be released yet, but he believes they'll be provided with more updates, adding that the baby boy will be receiving a hearing test before going home.
A GoFundMe Has Been Set Up to Help the Family With the Very Real & Unexpected Expenses.
Westerfield set up a GoFundMe account to help the family through the surprise of their lives.
The GoFundMe account states:.
Crystal Amerson, my fiance, woke up on March 25th with stomach pains she believed were from the food she ate the night before.
It turned out that we were 37 weeks pregnant and she delivered our 2nd son, Oliver, shortly after leaving in an ambulance.
Our current vehicle is a 2 door scion that she still owes money on, with high payments and high insurance bills, and a 2nd car seat just won't fit, our 18 month's car seat barely fits alone and we need a family vehicle asap.
We appreciate all the love and support we have recieved.
Oliver and mom are healthy and well.

Do you want to know more about Sitejet? - Duration: 2:18.Hey Webdesigners
I'm an early access user of Sitejet and the guys ask me to record a video where I simply
tell you why I like to work with it.
Soo..
I like to emphasize that it is a drag-and-drop system that is easy to use and clear
but doesn't lose any of my individual design possibilities.
The live-editor combines the efficient handling of recurring website elements with great flexibility
in creating new elements.
I think avoiding largely redundant tasks is their greatest strength.
I can work easier and faster and the system gives you the possibility to code and design
your own individual code.
It's just a really good interaction between frontend and code-based creation of a page.
You can use the editors for HTML, CSS and JS in split screen.
It all happens in one window, I don't need to search for the CSS file if I want to change something.
With the section presets they follow the system of a construction kit, but that doesnt mean
you are restricted in the individual design and I can fully unfold my creativity.
It is very clear and user-friendly, making it easy to understand.
It's just nice to work with because you can easily create and edit section templates
in the WYSIWYG editor.
When I'm done with my work, my clients can use the integrated feedback tools
to leave feedback or comments.
When I want to know where I have to change something, I just click on the feedback comment
and it scrolls me to that element on the website and I can easily implement the feedback.
Oh, what I really love are the shortcuts.
After a while you can do so much stuff so fast.
In my opinion Sitejet is simple and intuitive, supports my workflow and gives me the chance
to be more creative because I need less time to create individual websites.
You can create websites in no time at all, since many tasks that would otherwise be repeated
such as creating databases, installing and setting up scripts in general are done automatically
by the system.
Wow, that was a lot.. thanks for listening and happy website building! :)

Grace and Truth: God's Policy and Orientation (03.25.18 PART 2) * - Duration: 27:00.That's what happens to Christians when they keep himself from church when they
keeps himself from Bible study when there keeps himself from reading the
word you we as human beings naturally flow away from God we do it's just true
I don't know why it's true but it's true it's the way that we're made now this
part right here where it says if we are in our right minds it is for you what
he's talking about the word here yeah and I love this read for it means the
ability of mentality it means soundness of mind it means not
emotional but sound I was reading about George Washington
that I got up reading about a but a 900-page book on him and it was talking
about how he was in one of the battles one day when the British were trying to
leave New Jersey and just chaos was going on and George Washington came up
to that thing and by the way he was a great believer if anybody reads anything
about him but he came up in that situation he looked at the chaos he goes
what is happening here and he just started giving orders straightening
everybody out his sound mind and the view that craziness was cysts ability
we're talking about here okay his stability was based on the Word of God
if you've read anything about George Washington okay in chaos his mind was
sound it was stable and in view of everything around him he stopped
everybody said what are you running for this let's find a place to sit aside and
talk so right there's all this stuff going on and he does say there's
thousands of men on the field with guns and running and stuff this is this part
right here it is the sound mind okay now my part is funny about this is that Paul
needed a sound mind in order to talk to the Corinthians because it's talking
it's like I have to I've always thought for watch out like in trouble it's like
when you're talking to somebody who is not stable it is more important for you
to be stable to help them be stable okay it is important to be the sound mind in
a group because when you're not you actually contribute to the instability
okay and so that's what's happening here so reality Paul doesn't have a rapport
really close rapport with him because he they're kind of jerks right especially
were right now they're kind of jerks so what happens but if you look the way he
talks to them he talks to them very stable he doesn't get emotional about it
he doesn't get worried about that he doesn't chastise them he did he
satisfies him but he just did very stable right he doesn't get weird he
doesn't call them names when they actually deserve it so that's what he
does what's important bout that I thought was funny about this particular
this this word the word here the Greek word is the word for sophomore okay
sophomore I don't know if you know any sophomores but they're not stable
okay that's been my experience and the word kind of tells you that
because this sophomore in the Greek is the word Sophia and the word moron put
together okay and that's it that's what I think a sophomore actually is but but
they use it for the mental stability I think it's kind of funny so how so how
do you have a how do you have a stable mentality as a believer you orient
yourself to the Word of God the stability of the Word of God is the most
stable thing in the entire universe what we stand on every day is less stable
than the Word of God okay and grace when we look at the grace of God we repair
our knowledge up that he has given to us and our character of God and you put
them together and what do you get you get faith and stability that's what you
get that's why it's important it's the foundation that's what he's trying to
get them to grace that supposed to be sits I spelled it wrong
grace sits on truth the stability of the mind is one grace grace comes when you
understand who God is and understanding who God is is understanding Bible
doctrine and grace only sits on top of that when the bottom one is true when
you know Bible doctrine grace comes from you when you do not know Bible doctrine
grace escapes you and you go to legalism
legalism belongs to Satan okay it's most prevalent place that you find it is in
churches
when you don't understand grace is because you don't understand Bible
doctrine because if you understand Bible doctrine you not only know the truth but
you know God in the truest sense of that word
christ died Christ's love compels us because we are convinced that one that
one died for all and therefore all died
it says we are constantly the word here is that we are constantly motivated by
the love of Christ that's what that says remember that we're present act
indicative that's what Osama the word compel here is not compel it's actually
the word to be motivated okay the initiator is Christ's love for
motivation if you wonder why you don't do more for God is because you don't
have love for him you may have an emotional love but you don't have true
love because true love motivates obedience and motivates all that we do
it is the motivating factor for everything Christians do it's the love
of Christ and guess what the problem we'll love is is that you have to
understand who you love just like my wife if I don't understand I can think
she's hot and I do but Shh well I got in trouble for that too she's good like
okay so she's really nice okay but that does not motivate me to love her I
desire her but it doesn't motivate to love her you have to know somebody to
love them so if you spend if you spend the same amount of time with the person
that you love as you do with the Bible both will suffer okay
the the point of this whole thing is that the function of Christianity is
based on loving Christ that's what it is when you have one problem with one is
the other an example of that is like we're going to talk about ambassadorship
but I get moving pretty quick ambassadorship is that the
ambassadorship that we have is 100% dependent on the priesthood that we have
in Christ okay now if you familiar with the difference between
those two the priesthood is our relationship with God our ambassadorship
is our relationship with people if you do not have a perfect I'll say perfect
in Christ if you don't have a perfect relationship and love the Lord it shows
up in your ambassadorship you have no motivation okay they go one on one
this part here says this is where we are convinced that was not convinced that
words discern we discern we discern what we just certain one died for all how did
you how did you discern that you discerned it from Bible doctrine you
decided because the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ died for all okay and
therefore all died we died in Christ
Galatians 5:22 23 this is the piece that's really important but this is the
part I think is missing and missing in Christianity see Christianity has come
to the point where it thinks that something we do we can do for God it's
all about doing it's not about doing this is the piece that tells us that he
says but the fruits of the spirit hmm why didn't they put Richard in there
okay why didn't they put Richard why didn't put put your name in there why
why the spirit why not us this the fruit of the Christian is love that's not what
it says it says the fruit of the Spirit so how do you get the fruit of the
Spirit you have to be filled with the Holy Spirit not just enjoy you'd be
filled with the Holy Spirit he is the operational power of Christianity he is
God's power God does not do godly things without godly truth and godly power
guess what your part is you choose sound like that sounds like the exact
same equation for when you got saved right did you do anything to save
yourself Ephesians 2:8 and I said you didn't it is zero not even that much
zero force by grace you have been saved through Christ okay it's the same thing
God did not change his modus operandi he didn't sit and say okay you know
something I want you to be saved this way by grace but guess what I want you
to be a working fool on this side for Christianity it doesn't work that way
it's by the power of the Holy Spirit that's why I says it is the fruit of the
Spirit when you walk with the Lord and the truth of the Lord and you walk in
the Holy Spirit your spirit produces Christ likeness Spirit is in love the
love of God the joy of God the peace of God the forbearance of God the kindness
of God the goodness of God the faithfulness of God the gentleness of
God and you are self controlled it's not your joy it's nothing to say your joy
doesn't say your peace if you're talking about how you feel or what you do you
don't understand this verse this verse says that God does it through you when
you humble yourself and you submit yourself to the truth of God and the
power of the Holy Spirit just like Jesus Christ he didn't do it
in the way either that's how he did it same way not a second way there's only
one way God accepts that and he raised again that no next one I'm Lauria the
next verse so let's go to the next verse he says and he all right and he died for
all this is a good piece that there's actually repeat of the verse before
where toxa died for all for those of us who should not live no law should live
no longer for themselves but for him whose to him Jesus Christ okay when it
says no longer live for themselves it means that you're being self-centered
this is a recommendation this is an imperative that God has given to us who
died for them people he's talking about here in this case people were saved and
was raised again so it shows the cross and the resurrection side
side right this minute Jesus Christ is it the right hand of the Father that's
where he's at right now and he's he's not here except in us we are his
representatives okay we are Christ to the world I was thinking about this
piece so he says you know we've talked about the gospel it says the gospel is
really easy says he died for all I don't know about you there's a part of
Christianity is somehow misses that okay to me is that you know something
I'm so glad Jesus died for all now you can't say that outside of regular
circles and Christianity you get that okay because you're never supposed to
hope that somebody died okay but I'm so grateful that Jesus Christ died on the
cross for me he died for all now this this way he died there by grace what
does that mean I don't have to take anything with me I don't have to
thinking in put it on the altar of Christ for me to be saved
and nobody else else does either they don't have to be good to be saved a lot
of times people said well you know I'm a really bad guy you don't have no idea so
was I so come anyway guess what His grace is sufficient don't have to be
good don't have to be rich don't have to be smart don't have to be pretty I can
go on forever okay you don't have to be okay you just have to humble yourself
and believe what the Bible tells us this is the message you're giving to
unbelievers and says guess what this is a great thing God is so great he saves
somebody like me is that cool or what I mean
that tells me that if God saved me you're a piece of cake okay I don't know
about you but if somebody told me that I'd say that's great news you mean you
mean I don't have to I don't have to like be good I'll have to get better
nope this people sounds horrible and you that's amuse you don't have to change
one tiny bit to be saved how do I know that grace
what's grace grace means that there's no strings attached
nothing zero zilch if I become if I believe in Jesus Christ and this is
gonna be against everything you've heard if I believed in Jesus Christ for a
moment and I decided I like my old way of life I'll be miserable but I can
still go back to it I can just be as invisible I want and then somebody I'll
die and guess what I'll pop up in heaven
because of grace now I can't think of an unbeliever who wouldn't take that off
guess what yeah you don't have to worry about fire insurance I'm telling you
that my God is so gracious that this is the offer he has on the table this is
that how do I know that thief on the cross this is always a joke okay
did-did-did the thief on the cross have to raise his hand to come down no no I
wasn't gonna have him did he have to come what do you have to do then you
have to go to church do an offering serve what do you have to do nothing he
was dead hours later he brought zero to the cross okay
and Christ saved him in spite of that fact it says even this day theif you
will be with me in paradise that's the confirmation that's the acid test the
gospel is so much bigger than we think because we always wanted to well you
know now you gonna have to go to church you have to straighten your life out no
no no stay away from that that's not in the Bible
okay that's a result it's not a goal the goal is guess what Christ died for you
and he doesn't require anything from you except faith that's it just believe what
I'm telling you you're going to heaven that's it that's the end of the
salvation message it doesn't go on that doesn't go on from there people take it
on but salvation happens in a point in time it's by the grace of God this is
called the this is called the the doctrine of unlimited atonement
and this is the part where it says right here says and he died for all oh not
some not half okay the words the Greek word here is all okay just want to check
that I'm just messing with you he says what is the doctor unlimited
toilet means it means that there is enough grace and provision in the cross
for everybody who has ever lived ever it's just waiting there waiting to be
claimed not to be earned just to be claimed just say I want it
that's grace that's the gospel don't make the world
don't make the gospel complicated okay the gospel is real simple we'll learn
later is that the gospel feel simple all you do is and you've heard this before I
said you just say he does something I was a moron to like you but I'm not
anymore III found this eternal life I found this
grace that God wanted to give me and I said I want that and I was saved and
that's all there is to it I don't have to understand the cross I
don't send all that stuff I just I just know that God offered to me and I said I
want that I need that I'm a sinner it's that simple that's the gospel it has
been paid for us for free free to us but infinitely costly to somebody else the
first thing I look at that that that sounds crazy to me it is it is crazy but
it's true
first Timothy 4:10 that is why we labor and strive because we have put our hope
in the Living God who is the savior of all people not some all
and especially for those who believe what does that mean especially for the
he is that he is the it's called efficacious it means that God Christ
died for everybody but only those who choose it and pick that gift up does it
belong to if you leave that gift with that and go to eternity without it
you're gonna have to stand on your own on the white throne judgment of Christ
and explain why you're so good without him first John 2:2 just in case you
didn't get the first time he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins
not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world there's nobody left
out this opportunity is for everybody what does it depend on faith faith faith
like a child humility that's it nothing else hmm so from now on we
regard no one from a worldly point of view though we once regarded Christ this
way but don't but do but do not do so do not do so long no longer but this is
saying is that you can understand how people people don't see God right they
don't see Christ right if you're not saved you I'm right okay means that we
once had that same view so when people are apprehensive about Christ why is
that it's because they're blind okay Satan has blinded them and that
means that doesn't mean that Satan somehow did something to them they
didn't want done to them it's a cooperation because Satan doesn't have
the ability to do things that people don't cooperate with I have to want the
not know Christ for myself to be blind about Christ okay
and what it means here is that that we were once but before we were saved we
were blind to you know what happens when we give the gospel nowadays we give
from this powerful life hopefully I'm speaking for you we give this from this
powerful life of Christianity and we forget what it's like to be on the other
side we forget what it was like to not understand the grace of God not to
understand how wonderful Jesus Christ is we have to go from there side we have to
go back and remember when we were afraid of Christ to Lisa I don't want to give
up being happy I stopped hurting to do call me when I'm 90 okay that was my
attitude didn't make it very far but 39 but that's not bad yeah it's not bad
so hopefully I say you have to look at from their point of view is saying we
don't we don't regard people from a worldly view we're supposed to revive
them from God's view is that they are lost they need a mess that we have this
is the greatest message that has ever been told or said by the lips of men
ever it's the greatest message and we have to remember how blind they are so
sometimes your job isn't to arm wrestle with them is just to tell them the truth
we're talking about just simple that's why Bible doctrine is so important
because Bible doctrine is this is the foundation of the divine viewpoint you
cannot see as God sees without knowing the Word of God that's what their
problem is that's why they don't know who God is that's why they resist the
gospel is because there's no way that they can know who Jesus Christ is all
they can do is see it in us Matthew 4:4 Jesus jesus answered it is written
member when this was this was in he's in the desert it says man shall not live by
bread alone but from every word that comes from the mouth of God this is
Jesus quoting Deuteronomy 8:3 how much do you know about Deuteronomy that's a
joke most of us know much about it okay but this is saying is that man does not
live by bread alone is that you know something if you do not read the Word of
God and study doctrine I'm not talking about pretty pretty stories in the Bible
I'm not about reading the words I'm talking
about studying the Word of God study dig deep dive deeper that's what I'm talking
about because your soul as a Christian will starve to death if you do not and
our souls are wandering souls we wandered by nature and what this does is
it gives us a compass it gives us a North turn north this is someone one of
my favorite verses and actually the whole chapter which is only like six
long but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day
and night keep god's principles in your mind
all the time running over your head bathe in the rest of this that said he's
like the tree that that that's in the water stream of water and his fruit does
not wither as his leaf do not wither and his fruit always produces okay why does
that happen because he meditates on the Word of God day and night
okay our stability the fruit of our lives are based on the Word of God okay
if we do not know it it does not help us it keeps the divine viewpoint and keeps
you away from your own and others
therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come has scratched by now
how to read up there has come the old has gone and the new is here now this
this if here this is another first-class condition it means if it is as a if
anyone and if anyone is in Christ Jesus and they are they are a new creation but
since we here is that the the word this is this is what they call positional
truth okay and what additional means truth means that when we become saved at
the very moment become saved we are that very moment a new creation we don't we
don't there's not a there's not a there's not like a runway
okay this is this verse is not a runway first now there is this is what they
call technically they call this positional sanctification it means that
God cleans you up the moment you got saved just like that put the Holy Spirit
in you put Christ in you and give you eternal life I'm using this is Brazilian
he's gave he gave us if you look at william lewis chafer he says there's 36
things that we all got moment we got saved baptized by the Holy Spirit that's
what he does we got associated with Christ all right
relationship with Adam gone our relationship with Christ now eternal
that's a great deal that's why it always in Christ see you look around you'll see
this in Christ over and over and over again okay it's because we are in Christ
and we will be in him forever we will share his heritage we will share
everything about Christ we share with him okay
the word for new here is means new and species that's an interesting the word
know there's a very different word for there's another word for Neos which
means new in time this is not this is new in species means you're brand new
you're not like something in this before this happens like I said at the baptism
the Holy Spirit we you are put in perfect union with Christ and that is an
eternal union you won't get out of it ever

Now, people across the nation are hoping and praying that he will be seen again alive, somehow surviving a horrific crash that killed his two adopted parents, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, and at least three of his siblings.
Officials have said that it's likely Devonte Hart, 15, was also in the car that plunged from a cliff, killing his family.
Police believe Devonte and two of his siblings were also in they car, and now they're searching for them, hoping against hope that they somehow survived.
The young man who wears a sign reading "Free Hugs" wherever he goes is now on the hearts and minds of people across the country and the world.
One of Devonte's Adopted Mothers Was Driving When the Car Plunged Off a 100-Foot Cliff.
Facebook/Jen HartJen and Sarah Hart, Devonte Hart's parents.
The crash was found by a passerby on Monday afternoon, but officials have no idea how long the car was there.
Officials said that Jen Hart was driving, Sara was in the front seat, and three children were found outside the car.
All of them were dead at the scene.
According to officials, Jen had navigated the 2003 GMC Yukon XL onto a dirt turnout, and there were no signs of skid or brake marks before the car drove off the cliff.
CHP Sgt.
Christopher Dalin said: "We don't know if it rolled over the edge or if it launched over the edge.".
Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman said the car had to cross a wide expanse of gravel between the road and a dirt berm (about 75 feet) in order to even reach the cliff, Press Democrat reported.
The car landed upside down while Jen and her wife, Sarah Hart, were in the front seats, wearing seat belts.
Investigators found three of their six children dead at the scene, thrown from the car: Markis Hart (19), Jeremiah Hart (14), and Abigail Hart (14).
Officials are searching for the other three children: Sierra Hart (12), Hannah Hart (16), and Devonte Hart (15).
Allman said they "have every reason to believe" that all six of the children were in the car.
According to a friend's Facebook post, Jen and Sarah had been together for 18 years.
Jennifer and Sarah Hart adopted all six of their children, including Devonte.
Friends said that all their kids came from troubled backgrounds.
Friend Ian Sperling wrote about the couple on Facebook: "I don't know how to articulate the hurt that is being felt right now. Jen and Sarah Hart were raising the most remarkable six children that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
These six children came from the most outrageously messed up families that you can imagine.
These amazing women came and rescued all six of them.
Showered them with love and all six kids were turning into the best humans you can ever imagine.
Yesterday, their car went off a cliff in Northern California.
They are gone.
Gone from this earth far too soon.
We feel hurt when we are left here on earth, but I know they are frollicking in the afterlife.
BUT, this one hurts like nothing I can articulate…" (sic).
Family & Friends Said Devonte Was Abused As a Baby, But He Still Loved People With All His Heart.
Devonte was born with all odds stacked against him, according to a story in Paper Trail.
He was born with drugs in his system, and by the age of four he had smoked, drank, and suffered abuse and neglect.
He was behind his peers in school, only knowing a few words, and had violent outbursts.
Jen and Sarah Hart adopted Devonte, and felt overwhelmed and heartbroken over what he had been through.
He was the the last of the six children they adopted.
The article read: "With their unconditional love, nurturing natures, patience and acceptance, Devonte defied all odds and has grown into a young charismatic man with a heart of gold." .
A close friend of the family, Jay Lash, shared a story on Facebook about Devonte's adoption and how his mothers helped him through a difficult time.
Lash wrote that Devonte had been born into a severely abusive situation, and Jen and Sarah poured all their hearts into healing him.
Here is what he wrote: "Jen told us the story of when they went to pick up Devonte.
He was born into a severely abusive situation.
He was broken and stunted into a state of wild carelessness.
That first night in the hotel he ran away.
Jen and Sarah were flooded with doubt.
They questioned whether they could help him.
The police found him and brought him back.
Jen said when she saw this little boy, full of rage standing at the door all alone in this World, love came out of every part of her.
A love that was not a choice but a reaction from within the heart an instinct to protect and care.
Devonte absorbed all of it along side his brothers and sisters.
They went well beyond recovery and thrived.
They became a source for this caring and love.
One that transformed everyone in their path.
They lived fully and did more healing work on themselves then most do in several life times.
It may seem short and tragic by many standards but we all know these shooting stars were angels sent here to shine.".
Devonte never let his background hold him back.
His mother Jen Hart said in 2014: "He inspires me every single day.
He has proven doctors, psychologists and teachers wrong.
His future is most definitely not bleak; he is a shining star in this world.
His light shines bright on everyone on his path.".
A Photo of Devonte Hart Went Viral in 2014, When He Hugged a Police Officer During a Ferguson Protest.
In 2014, the nation learned about Devonte Hart, thanks to a touching moment caught on camera in Portland.
During a tense rally protesting a decision not to indict police officers in Michael Brown's death, brave Devonte stood in the crowd wearing a sign that read "Free Hugs." A police officer responded and the two embraced.
The moment was caught on camera and shared with the world.
Portland Police Sgt.
Bret Barnum said that he saw Hart standing in the crowd with tears in his eyes, holding the sign.
He called Hart over, they talked, and then he asked Hart for a hug.
Jen Hart described what happened on Facebook.
She wrote: "We hit the streets (Nov.
25) with the intention of spreading love and kindness, and to remind (ALL) people that they matter in this world.
