Waching daily Mar 4 2018

Hi, I'm Cate and in today's video,

We're going to be focusing on the homophones, 'hole' and 'whole' and talk about their different meanings.

So 'hole' spelt like this is a noun

meaning an empty space or an opening. For example, 'There is a large hole in the ground.'

'Whole' spelled like this with a 'W' which is a silent W

when we pronounce it is an adjective meaning complete or

entire. As I just said before, it is always written with the silent W so we don't pronounce this letter.

An example of how we could use this is we could say, 'Sally ate the whole pizza.'

and this means that she ate the entire pizza. She ate all of it and every single part of it.

So that was a brief summary of the differences between these two quite confusing words in English.

I hope you found this explanation helpful. Thanks so much for watching, and I'll see you next time!

A2X Amazon Seller Help for Bookkeeping - Duration: 6:41.

Hey - it's Patti Scharf, CPA and Co-Founder of Catching Clouds, the leader in

e-commerce accounting, and today we're gonna talk about how not to do your

Amazon bookkeeping (and why you're probably doing it the wrong way). Then

I'll tell you the right way to do it to get to a good end result fast. Make sure

you stick around to the end where I'll give you more useful tips on how to do

it right and with very little effort. Let's start by talking about how you're

probably doing it and why that's wrong. If you aren't really familiar with

accounting, chances are you've seen the deposits landing in your bank account

from Amazon, and you're coding all of that to sales. If you're coding from your

bank accounts, it may seem really simple, especially if you're using QuickBooks

Online or Xero where you've got Bank rules set up where it just automatically codes

everything to sales and you're like, "Done!" I know that's really simple, but please

please, please don't do that. It is not right. That number that is

landing in your bank account is the net amount after all of the Amazon fees, and

if you've been selling on Amazon for any period of time, you know that they are

taking 15 to 40 percent of the gross sales and keeping it for themselves as

some type of service fee for allowing you to sell on their marketplace. That's

great. You may think that's super fine and fair; you may think it's really

excessive. But if you're not keeping track of those numbers, you don't know

how much money they're taking of yours.

And if you're keeping track of that over time in your accounting system, you can

see if they start jacking up your fees. We just found out in January almost all

of our clients noticed that all their fees from Amazon went up. If you're not

paying attention to that, you don't know. So how do you get that information? That

brings us to the second method that's probably wrong, and that is going to your

settlement statement. Your settlement statement may look something like this.

It includes product charges and it shows you some shipping fees and things

like that. Do you know what is not showing on this report? Any sales tax

that you collected. So it doesn't give you all the

information that you need to keep track of. The other thing is if you look up

here, the statement date range is from October 23rd to November 6th. That means

what's in this amount, even though it may tie to the amount that lands in your

bank, it's for sales that cover a period that's not in the right period, so if

you're recording this in November, you're recording some of your October sales in

November. That means you can't track what you're selling over time. You can't track

fees over time. It's all just kind of a hodgepodge of things, and I know if

you're if you're telling me that, "Hey, I'm cash basis - it doesn't matter. It matters

only when I collect it, not when the transaction occurs." I'm telling you that

the sale - you collected this in October - so you're still doing it wrong. You

collected it in October. Amazon collected it on your behalf, but

it still needs to be reported in your October books. So this is a bad problem.

So, if this doesn't give you the information you need,

where do you go next? And the next step would be to look at all the

individual sales from Amazon. Okay, so you go into Amazon, you download all those

individual orders. It gives you the break out including sales tax collected,

it gives you the break out with shipping income, and all these different things,

but the problem now is that - how do you line that up with your batch settlement

statement? You saw before the batch of settlement statements equal what gets

deposited into your bank account, but a massive spreadsheet download from Amazon

does not. And the unfortunate thing is a lot of Amazon's reports don't match each

other, so you may pick the same period for one report as another one and

they don't match. Now you're ready to pull your hair out. The other

problem is if you're selling like ten orders a month, it's not a big deal. If

you're selling ten thousand orders a month, it is a big deal. If you're pulling

all that information into your accounting system, 1) systems

like Xero, they'll only let you pull in a thousand orders a day,

2) it's going to crush your system because your accounting system wasn't

built to house all that information. You really need to enter the information in

a summary fashion. So you're like, okay - I can't do this, this, or this. What do I

do? And I'm so glad you asked. Here is the

answer, and I'm telling you - this is not a paid advertisement. I've been doing it

since 2012. I started doing number one with the bank deposits. No, I knew that

wasn't right right off the bat. Number two, went to the settlement statements.

Within a few days, I was like that's not right either. Tried the individual orders.

That wasn't working either. We ended up creating our own database to just track

everything and make sure we could keep track of returns and everything else, but

in 2014, A2X came along, and it changed my life. It is an amazing tool. I highly

recommend you look into it. This is the right way to record your accounting for

Amazon. The good news is it will go in, it will grab all the information from your

settlement statement, all the details. It'll include all the fees and sales tax

and knows exactly where to put everything. If it spans two different

months, it will create one invoice in one month, one invoice and the other one.

It'll show up in your accounting system and you can just go OK and it reconciles.

It is a beautiful, beautiful thing. And in 2017, they started integrating with

QuickBooks Online in addition to Xero also. The A2X - Amazon to Xero - they now

integrate with QuickBooks Online, so people who love Intuit, they can use

that as well. So now you know why you need A2X to make your bookkeeping life

simple and fast and accurate, but how do you get started? If you

look at the link down below, I have a link to a blog post that we wrote

about getting started on A2X and why you need it and all that stuff. So go

check that out. If you like this video and find it helpful, please like, comment,

and subscribe, and I'll catch you next time.

what name should we pick for this video? хелп needed - Duration: 4:38.

I'm Simon James Pettitt,

I'm a larp designer

and larp player.

I'm Dagmar.

I'm Sasha, I'm 25

and my first MLF was in 2014.

I am Kristoffer

and this is Kirstine.

My name is Lena.

I'm Hanna.

I'm Gints,

I went to Minsk Larp Festival in 2017.

This is going to be my third MLF,

third

So here are two reasons why I think you should go to MLF.

We think that you should go this year because it is a fantastic place to be.

Such an unforgettable experience you can't get in any other place and time.

I remember vividly my impressions from the first MLF.

I felt like Alice who fell down the rabbit hole.

Even though I did things basically the last moment, I had an excellent time.

I got to meet some very lovely people again,

but most importantly I got to play some wonderful larps.

Larps help you explore new worlds,

hell yeah

You explore yourself and get to understand yourself.

Larp is of course a pure form of art, but can also be a professional tool.

My favourite part of larping is learning process,

since Alice, while falling down the rabbit hole, tried to remember multiplication tables, btw

And larps encourage you to think about things you wouldn't probably contemplate in your everyday life.

Games you get to play, they are so different from what you've tried.

They really have their own separate game culture.

Things that are happening with larp and development of civic society are very interesting

and it's the best place to experience it.

It's well organized; as a designer I have been treated this nicely, so I really enjoyed it.

It's new people who can become either your best friends or reliable business partners.

It's projects you didn't know exist. Dreams you couldn't even imagine.

The second reason is Minsk itself. It's a really interesting city that you owe yourself to experience.

We think that you should go to a week-in as well

because you get to meet all the very nice people and experience Minsk as a city and the history of Minsk.

MLF is a unique microcosm.

On the one hand, you're in Minsk, within the borders of Belarus.

On the other hand, you happen to be around all these fantastic people who speak various languages or English,

you play larps together, and someone you met for the first time, say, 30 minutes ago

may become a close person for you in three hours.

And of course there was dancing into the morning, discussing philosophy at lunch,

sudden sing-alongs in the street, ideas, inspiration.

Weekend full of love, laughter, tears, larp,

all sorts of things.

And I really wanna see you there, I'm gonna be there.

The people at MLF will gladly help you experience this unique town

and very creative and unique youth that lives there.

Why you should support the festival at crowdfunding platform Talaka?

MLF is a special forum for international communication

since it brings together people from different countries

who may have different views and opinions but will find the way to understand each other.

Moreover, I believe that larp enables us to become active citizens as it can be a tool

which helps you touch upon and process current essential issues.

I certainly went home much richer than I'd come.

If you can't make it, please support them.

I think the job they're doing is really really important.

So… that was my two reasons and I think you should go.

I am going to MLF.

And I think you should too, I'm looking at you.

Come to MLF, have fun, play larps, join the party.

Touch the magic that we so want to share!

See you there.

Become a Billionaire? Learn from Elon Musk - Incredible CEO of Tesla & Space X - Duration: 5:37.

Hello Morocco! Do you dream of being a CEO that changes the world, makes huge money, and lands on the cover of Time magazine?

That's what Elon Musk did, and I'm gonna share a few things we can learn from his life

if you want to follow in his footsteps.

Let's do it!

I read Elon Musk's biography this summer and at the end of this video

I'm gonna give this book away to one lucky winner in Morocco

So keep watching and that could be you. Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla -

which is an electric car company that makes really really cool cars, and also SpaceX - a rocket ship company that sends

satellites up into space. That's right: He's the CEO of TWO major companies

This guy is the most exciting entrepreneur on the planet right now. Your kids are going to be learning about him in history class

Last month I saw my first Tesla here in Casablanca

It's only a matter of time before you start to see electric charging stations on all the highways around Morocco

He's changing the world. So what are some things we can learn from his life - both good and bad?

I want to share a few. Elon Musk pursued mentors. He sought after people who could teach him and guide him

When he was a university student he contacted professional athletes,

executives, people he admired and asked them if he could have a meeting with them.

It's kind of a rare thing but Elon Musk did it and it ended up being very significant

in his life. The guy who agreed to meet him was an executive at a bank named Peter Nicholson.

That meeting ended up leading to a summer internship at the bank where Elon learned

the world of Finance. so when Elon was finishing University,

He asked for Peters advice. Should I go to grad school and do my masters?

Or should I go straight to Silicon Valley and get into the startup scene? And Peter told him grad school is not going anywhere

It can wait, but what's happening with the internet and Silicon Valley...this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Elon took his mentor's advice, he went, started Zip2 which a few years later

he sold for 22 million. That led to PayPal which he sold for

360 million. That was the seed capital to start up Tesla and SpaceX,

which has led to where he is today: worth 20 billion dollars.

Can you see how that one mentor dramatically altered the course of Elon's life? Peter's advice to Elon

significantly contributed to his success.

But that never would have happened unless Elon, as a young University student, sought out

coaches, sought out mentors and teachers to invest in him.

Now who are your mentors? Who are your coaches? Who are your teachers? Who's invested in your life?

Tag your mentors below to thank them for

investing in you, to thank them for pouring into your life and helping lead you to success.

Another thing that struck me about Elon is his work ethic.

I had some students last summer that were whining about having to do a 20 day internship during their four-month summer break

When Elon was a student he worked two full time internships for the whole summer. During the day

he worked at a company called Pinnacle and at night, starting at 5:00 p.m.,

he would work at his second internship at a company called Rocket Science Games.

His boss was amazed at his ability to pull all-nighters

He operated on very little sleep because he was so driven and ambitious

Even after he started his own company,

he would instruct his secretary to wake him up when she arrived in the morning because he would often work through the night and

fall asleep in the beanbag chair beside his desk.

Even now today, he's worth 20 billion dollars

He could buy a yacht, live on a private island, play golf, sit on the beach

But instead he still works eighty to a hundred hour weeks: more than a full-time job for BOTH his companies!

Because he's so motivated to achieve his goals

He sleeps six hours a night. He travels extensively. There's no one who can outwork Elon

I really admire Elon's work ethic and his devotion to his goals, but being a workaholic

comes at a steep price. It takes sacrifice.

Elon's been divorced three times. He rarely sees his kids, and he's not able to maintain good friendships. He just doesn't have time

So he's accomplishing incredible things in his career, but his personal life has to suffer for it.

So you may admire what he's accomplished, but before you decide to follow in his footsteps

Be sure to ask yourself: What's most important to you? What do you truly value?

I'm inspired to work hard towards my dreams, but not if it costs me the people who I love the most

I love reading inspiring biographies, and this book did not disappoint

So if you'd like to win a copy of this book share this video on Facebook and tag @MarocTreasure

For every time you share it, I'll enter your name into a draw

And I'll choose one lucky winner and send it to you in Morocco or even hand-deliver it if possible
