Learn Stock Trading: Candlestick Entry Techniques - Duration: 17:18.what's going on everybody this is floogiel trader trader Jeff and author of the book
trading part-time and in this video lesson we're gonna talk about learning
how to stock trade Candlestick entry techniques and stick around to the end
because I've got a free document that I created to help you trade more like a
professional so let's check out the video welcome to this video lesson learn
stock trading candlestick entry techniques now there are a lot of entry
techniques that a technical analysis trader can follow but we're gonna talk
about a few here today that's gonna help out with your trading tremendously so
let's go check out the candlestick entry techniques okay so today we're gonna
look at some small candle patterns bullish and we're gonna look at some
large candle patterns bullish so we're gonna talk about bullish entry candles
in this video lesson okay so the first one we're going to look at is the
dragonfly doji okay the dragonfly doji is preceded by a down trending stock and
it's a potential reversal bullish reversal back to the upside okay we're
gonna take a look at the hammer just like Thor's hammer the hammer hammers
out the downtrend so the key is when you have a downtrend we want to start
looking for hammer candle patterns for potential clues to reversals back to the
upside the third one we're gonna talk about is the on the small candle
patterns is the inverted hammer the inverted hammer is the hammer but
flipped upside down okay again it's a bullish entry candle potential reversal
back to the upside so whenever we have a downtrend in the stock we're gonna look
for an inverted hammer as well to give us a potential clue as to reversal back
in the upside then we're gonna take a look at some
large candle patterns and in the large candle patterns we have one is a bullish
per ami it's a large candle pattern because it's a two candle pattern the
ones I just talked about a minute ago the dragonfly doji the hammer and the
inverted hammer are one candle patterns that's why I call them small candle
patterns but in the large candle patterns we have the bullish harami it's
a two candle pattern again it's a downtrend followed by a two candle
pattern it's a big red candle followed by a small either white or red candle
but it's inside the body we'll talk about that we're gonna look at a
piercing line two candle pattern potential reversal we're gonna look at
what's called a bullish engulfing it's gonna engulf the previous candle again
potential reversal to the upside we're also gonna look at it the morning star
pattern okay it's a three candle pattern and guess why it's considered Laurel but
again it's a reversal pattern so let's go take a look at some small candle
patterns on the chart so what we're looking at is the SPX
which is the 500 largest companies in the world and if you see here we've got
a couple of things right here we have an inverted hammer see it's a downtrend
followed by this nice inverted hammer leading to potential upside okay so the
buyers push the stock up the sellers pushed it back down and we form this
inverted hammer like pattern okay so an inverted hammer is a potential reversal
pattern if you notice the momentum continued going up so that right there
when you see an inverted hammer which is a hammer twist it upside down that is a
potential reversal sign
and so the next candle pattern we're gonna look at is the hammer candle
pattern so take that inverted hammer that we just talked about and flip it
around now and a hammer okay a hammer means we're hammering out the downtrend
so let's take a look at one on the chart this is the SP X again we have a
downtrend followed by this nice hammer right here if you notice sellers push
the price down and then buyer step back in and push it up forming this nice
hammer okay now candlestick entry when you see
this this is not an automatic entry into the stock this is a potential setup
pattern we have to get momentum follow-through but if you notice look
what happened here the momentum followed through and we presumed an uptrend okay
so this hammer hammered out the down trend we pushed it back up so the second
one is our hammer okay so we have our inverted hammer which is a potential
bullish reversal candle pattern looks just like this let's flip it around and
we have the hammer just like Thor's hammer boom we're hammering out the down
trim you see that potential rise the upside and then the third one that we're
going to look at is the dragonfly doji so let's go find one of those on the
chart so now we're gonna take a look at the
dragonfly doji is again this is a potential bullish reversal candle so
let's take a look at that again we're looking at the SPX if you notice we have
a downtrend and how do we know it's a downtrend because the line is going down
that's an easy way to know the trend if you notice we're going down or going
down or going down right here okay we have sellers pushed it all the way down
buyers push the price back up and we formed this nice dragonfly doji now the
dragonfly doji it looks like a hammer but it's a smaller body at the top now
it doesn't have to be perfect but again the key is as a potential bullish
reversal candle so when you see a dragonfly doji at the bottom of a
downtrend that's a potential clue that's a reversal so if you notice going
the next day we had a red candle white candle out followed by another dragonfly
doji again momentum on the down is now stalling and then off to the races on
the upside okay so again we got our dragonfly doji at the bottom of a
downtrend we got another dragonfly doji right
there see how it's a very thin body and then the momentum push all the way back
in the up so that is the dragonfly doji so now that we've looked at some small
candle patterns let's take a look at the large candle patterns okay so now we're
gonna take a look at a bullish Pirani we have a downtrend if you notice this big
red candle and then we have this small white candle that's inside the body of
this big red candle dental trend this is inside the body now you can't you can
barely see it but this is inside this body okay and so when we get there
it's called a bullish marami downtrend inside the body off to the races so
again it's a two candle pattern big red candle followed by a small white or red
candle but the key is that it's inside the body of this candle and it's a
potential two candle reversal pattern back to the upside and here's another
example of a bullish Hourani okay so we have a downtrend big red candle and then
this white candles inside the body of that large red candle so it's a bullish
Pirani is what they call it and candlestick analysis and again it
represents a potential reversal back of the upside the momentum is down and then
momentum is starting to shift okay so this candle is inside the body of the
previous candle followed by a downtrend that's another example of a bullish
haraam all right so the next bullish large to
candle pattern we look at is the piercing line formation again it's a
down trending and then followed by it's a toucan of pattern so you see we have
this red candle the open was lower then the close here so it gapped down on the
open and then price shop back up and closed above this halfway mark so it's a
two candle pattern it's a red candle followed by a gap down and then buyer
stepping in but it opened here but sellers push it all the way down but
buyers pushed it back in to where it closed above this midway point so it's a
two candle pattern where you large red candle gap down and then it push back up
and closed above the midpoint two candle pattern again and look what happened
we're gonna nice follow-through and a trend resumed to the upside so it's a
two candle pattern potential reversal big red candle price gaps down sellers
push the price down by step up shoot it up and it closes above the mid candle
that is a bullish piercing line potential reversal candle pattern okay
and so the third large candle pattern bullish potential reversal is the
morning star pattern this is a three candle pattern that happens at the
bottom of a downtrend for example downtrend okay you've got a
big red candle price gap down okay buyer step back in and the next day price shot
back up okay and so you see this big red candle small candle followed by another
big white candle that is the Morningstar three candle pattern okay and then look
at this price shot back up to the upside so it was a bullish
reversal candle pattern followed on a downtrend the key is is a three candle
pattern doesn't have to look exactly as in a textbook but the key to know this
is a big red candle price gaps down a little or a lot okay in this case look
formed another red candle could be a white candle but it gaps down and closes
lower and then price the next day shoots back up gaps up and it gapped up a
little bit and form a big white bullish candle pattern three candle pattern
potential reversal back up to the upside okay and so now we're gonna take a look
at the bullish engulfing it's a two candle pattern but it's a very powerful
candle pattern so we have a downtrend red candle followed by this big white
candle if you notice here the reason why it's called a bullish engulfing his
number one is the body that low the open and the close engulfs the body of the
previous candle now you can heart it's hard to see right here but the low is
lower than this one right here and so that candle engulf the body of this
downtrending candle so when you have a downtrend you have a red candle followed
by a big white candle that engulfs the body
it is called a bullish engulfing a very powerful potential reversal to the
upside if you notice momentum followed through and we had a nice uptrend after
that so we have a downtrend red candle followed by a really big white candle
that engulfs the entire body of that candle and then momentum shifted to the
EFT side very very powerful candle pattern is the bullish engulfing candle
pattern so now let's take a look really quickly
at what we just talked about small candle patterns these are bullish
candlestick entry reversal patterns number one is a dragonfly doji downtrend
followed by this dragonfly doji which is a very thin top sell let's push the
price down buyer step back in and form this thin top we look for confirmation
for potential reversal pattern to the upside followed by that dragonfly doji
the hammer hammering out the down train again downtrend sellers push the price
down buyers push the price back up we form a
a hammer-like pattern it's not as thin at the dragonfly doji a little thicker but
looks like a hammer getting potential reversal camo pattern to the upside
inverted hammer exactly the same but flipped around opposite okay again
buyers push the price up sellers pushed it down but it's formed the hammer at
the bottom and then if momentum continues through then we have a bullish
reversal now we have our large candle patterns we have our large candle
pattern is a 2 or 3 candle pattern as opposed to one we talked about the
bullish harami price goes down red candle followed by a candle that's
inside the body of the previous candle potential reversal back to the upside
and a piercing line we have a red candle prize shot down the buyer stepped in the
candle the next one and push it up and it closed above the body of the red
candle two candle pattern price shut down pushed it back up closed above the
body we have the bullish engulfing
the body of the OKC a red candle and then the next candle the body engulf the
body of the red candle it's a bullish engulfing it's a very powerful signal
that it's gonna be reversing back to the upside very powerful signal big white
candle engulfing the body okay and then we had our Morningstar three candle
pattern large red candle gapped down form the smaller candle and then the
next candle pushed up at the open and formed a big white candle so three
candle pattern Morningstar reversal and now you know stock trading

Expressions as a Pocket Calculator - Duration: 9:34.Hello, this is Mathias Möhl for mamoworld.com and welcome to the third class
of our After Effects expressions course. I named today's class "Expressions as a pocket calculator",
since this is the best way to think about expressions when you want to get started
writing your own expressions code.
Let's write some expressions to place those dots here. The first thing I do is to right-click
on the position and choose separate dimensions, such that X and Y position are two independent properties.
Because then we can apply an expression to only the X or only the Y position,
such that the expression only needs to describe a single number. Expressions for 2D or 3D
position values are slightly more complicated, therefore we will cover them in a later class.
Let's place this dot here exactly in the middle of the comp. As usual, we alt-click
on the top watch to activate expressions for this property. Since our comp is 1920 pixels
wide, the middle is at 1920/2. As you can see, you can simply enter this as an expression
and the layer is placed accordingly. Let's place the second layer 300 pixels
left of the center. So we simply enter 1920/2 - 300 to create the 300 pixels offset. You
can also put parenthesis around the 1920/2 to make clear that the 300 is subtracted after
the division is calculated, although this is not necessary here, since multiplication
and division are always calculated first and then addition and subtraction.
This third dot has a keyframed animation. We can disable it temporarily by entering
the most simple expression ever: a simple number. Let's enter 170 and as you can see,
the layer is not animating anymore but stays at this value although the keyframes are still
present. By turning the expression on and of using this equality symbol, we can toggle
between the expression and the keyframe value. Adding the expression also kind of locks the
value. So when we move the layer in the viewer, you can see it only moves left and right but
not up and down anymore. Note that the keyframes are still changed when moving the layer but
the layer does not move up or down because the y value is controlled by the expression
and not by those keyframes..
In the next example, we want to place this "plus" symbol here in the middle of the
two other symbols. The left one has a x position of 500, the right one of 1500. So the middle
is (500+1500)/2 which is 1000.
Now instead of hardcoding the numbers, we can also use the pick-whip to link to the
positions of the other layer dynamically. So we select the "500" and then pick-whip
to the 500 here on the position of the first point. As you can see, the 500 has now been
replaced by some code dynamically linking to the position of point 1.
The code looks a bit complicated, but is actually not too hard to read. It says "from this
comp, from layer "point 1" please use in the transform section the property xPosition.
Now we also select the 1500, and pick-whip it to the position of the second point.
To make it a bit more interesting and complicated, for the second point I didn't separate the
dimensions. So it does not have an X Position value to link to, but only a Position value
including both X and Y. If we try to pick-whip to this property, we
get an error saying "expression result must be of dimension 1 not 2" which means that
we need to have a single number here but this position is actually two numbers, namely x
and y. To fix this, we first undo, then select the 1500 again and this time don't link
it to the entire property, but drag the pick-whip directly to only the x-value here. Now the
generated expressions code looks a little bit different. This zero in square brackets
at the end says that we don't want to use the entire position value, but only the first
component, namely the x component of it. One thing you need to get used to is that programmers
start counting with 0, so 0 is the x component and 1 is the y component. But we will cover
this in more detail in a later class.
We can move the two points freely now and due to the expression the plus symbol always
stays in the center. Of course, currently it only stays centered in x direction. If
you need it in both directions, you could of course apply an expression to the yPosition
in the same way.
So far we learned that expressions are like little pocket calculator formulas with the
super cool extra feature that you cannot just use fixed numbers in the formulas, but also
link to other properties with the pick-whip. The code snippet you create with the pick-whip
is called a variable. And in addition to the variables you create with the pick-whip, there
are lots of other predefined variables that you can use.
One of the most useful ones is called "value". Value gives you the keyframe value at the
current time of the property that the expression is applied to. This allows you do let the
expression calculate something relative to this keyframed value.
Here, we've got this keyframed bouncing ball, for example. If we enter on the yPosition
the expression "value + 100", you can see that this offsets the motion path by 100
pixels, since at each frame it adds 100 to the keyframed motion path value.
If we enter "value * 2" you can see that the bounces are now twice as high.
maybe let's combine this with an offset of -80 such that it ends up again on the correct
height. So with simple multiplication and addition you can scale and offset a motion
path. And all of this just with the help of the value variable.
Another example for a useful variable that you cannot access with the pick-whip is "thisComp.width".
As you might expect it represents the width of the composition. So if we enter "thisComp.width"
as expression for the xPosition, the xPosition becomes 1920 because this is the width of
the comp. To center it, we can use thisComp.width/2. Like all build-in expressions variables, this
value updates dynamically. So if we cut and paste the layer to a new composition of a
different size, it updates automatically.
Ok, so now you know the value variable and the thisComp.width variable, and there are
lots of other ones. But do you have to learn all of the by heart? No, the great thing is
that you find all of them in the expressions language menu here at this icon that looks
kind of like a play button. To use this menu, you need to understand that variables have
a hierarchical structure. So in the "Global" section, for example,
you find thisComp, but you don't find "thisComp.width". But in the "Comp" section we find all
properties that a composition has. Here you also find "width". The different parts
of a variable name are always connected with a dot, so you know that with "thisComp.width"
you can access the width of the current composition. If you want to know the width of any other
composition, in the global section you can see that you can also get comps by name. So
with "comp" and then in parenthesis the name of the composition, you can access any
comp in your project. Actually, you can also get such a comp with the pick-whip, by pick-whipping
to a comp in the project panel. As you can see that created exactly what we've just
found in the expressions menu. "Comp" and in parenthesis the name of the composition.
Note that those names always must be put in quotes.
So to access the width of this other comp, we now can add .width.
Let's do one more practical example. Let's say this text should always stay right of
the dot, even if we replace the dot with a bigger or smaller image. So we could say "please
use as my x position my keyframed value plus the width of the dot layer". So as expression
we type "value" to get the keyframed position and then "+" and now we need to get the
width of the dot layer. So we use the pick-whip and drag it onto this layer which gives us
"thisComp.layer("dot")". Now we need to find the width of the layer. So in the
expressions menu we look in the layer category what properties all layers have. In the "General"
section you find "width" so we know that with ".width" we can access the width
of this layer". Now the text jumped to the right of the dot. If we replace the footage
of the dot layer with this arrow here, as you can see, the text moves to adjust to the
new size.
Summary! Today you learned that expressions are like
a pocket calculator. That you can enter formulas and in those formulas you can access almost
everything in your project using variables. Those variables have a hierarchical structure,
so you have, for example, variables for each comp and each layer, and by connecting everything
with dots you can dive into those variables and access any properties like the width of
the comp, or layer, for example. Finally, the pick-whip is a tool to generate variables
for properties quickly without the need to type everything manually. And it cannot only
be used to link to properties, but can also link to layers, comps or other project items.
Next time we look at a very practical example and use everything you've learned today
to let the wheels of a car rotate fully automatically.
Again, this is Mathias Möhl for mamoworld.com - see you next time.

BT Daily: How to Have a Successful Bible Study - Part 5 - Duration: 3:04.[Darris McNeely] I had one of my former students come up to me the other day asking me a question
about a particular verse in the Bible and a discussion he was having at work with another
individual about the interpretation of this verse.
I won't get into what the topic was here, it's not relevant.
But what I pointed out to the student, and I will point out to you, when it comes to
having successful Bible study, understanding the Bible, we have to be able to employ this
next tip.
And that is to let the Bible interpret itself.
Let the Bible do its interpreting.
So many problems, so many false teachings have arisen and perpetuated through the years
because individuals, denominations, churches, movements, have put their own interpretation
on the scripture that is not there from the scripture.
If as you read the Bible, something seems to be confusing or contradictory, always let
the Bible shed light on the scripture and lead you to that understanding.
Scriptures do not contradict each other, they complement one another.
But we have to be patient and we have to be willing to put in the work to find out what
the Bible says, all the Bible, on a particular topic.
2 Peter 1:20, speaking about prophecy but it applies also to all scripture and all topics.
Peter wrote, "No prophecy is of any private interpretation."
We can say no part of scripture is of any private interpretation and certainly not prophecy
that people get off into their own weird interpretations of all of that.
But you cannot take one scripture out and make that solely the interpretive explanation
for a particular topic.
Also in order to properly understand the Bible and letting it interpret itself, you cannot
force your personal view into it.
You can't do that.
Or, what you taught, been taught, what you think it should mean, or where it fits, maybe,
where you are in your life.
You can't do that, not with the Bible.
God's Word is truth and we have to approach it with reverence and respect.
In Isaiah 28:9-10, a well-known passage, it speaks to this principle that all of us have
to employ and letting the Bible interpret itself.
It says, "Whom will he teach knowledge?
And whom will he make to understand the message?
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, and there a little."
We have to be able to go through all of the text of the Bible, know what the Bible says
completely on its subject, and let the Bible interpret itself.
Go into it with that point of view, you'll have a successful Bible study.
And it will revolutionize what you think you understand about scripture.
That's BT Daily, join us next time.

How to Calculate CAGR in Excel - Duration: 4:10.Hello this is Mark from Tradinformed.com and welcome to this video on How to
Calculate the Compound Annual Growth Rate in Excel this video is one of a
series that I am currently doing on trading metrics and how to analyze our
trading and backtest performance. So compound annual growth rate we need a
few inputs into this we need, the key one is our final capital our capital at the
end of our trading period and we need our starting capital in addition to that
we need the number of years that we have been trading the strategy because it is
obviously the compound Annual growth rate so we're going to measure this in
the number of years so you can see on the screen the calculation sheet that I
am using and I've highlighted in green the inputs that we need now as I said
the first part of this is final capital and then divided that by the starting
capital we also need the number of trading years and I'm just going to show
you the formula that I've used to calculate this I've used the built in
excel formula YEARFRAC and I've taken the final and the first date now we
always want to make our Excel backtest spreadsheets as automated as possible so
I've made this one flexible and so if we wanted to change this date it will
change the number of years that we are trading okay so the formula is nice and
simple we just take our final capital we divide it by our starting capital and we
put these in brackets and we put this we open up another set
of brackets and we do 1 divided by the number of years let me close that I'm
going to put everything in another set of brackets here and I'm going to subtract
1 from that and it really is as simple as that
I've got a compound annual growth rate of this strategy of 6.2% now we can make
this as I said we've got a bit of flexibility built into there and I'll
just demonstrate as I said if we could change this date here we can see a
compound annual growth rate change as well I can put that - 2015 number of
trading years declines and in this case our anual growth rate increases the
other thing of course to be aware of when we're looking at a trading strategy
is that leverage has a huge impact on how our trading strategy performs so
I've set this up one-to-one but if I was to switch this to two you see our
compound annual growth rate jumps also our drawdown and that is pretty much
always going to happen I could put that to three and again we can see much
higher annual growth rate but we are taking on a greater risk I hope you
enjoyed this video please check out the rest of the videos in this series on how
to measure your trading performance using trading metrics in Excel and for

When I first started university, I had a hard time making friends.
I was painfully shy and a lot of the people around me made me feel very much like an outsider

strategies as well as talking about smart phones just like this one ."So if you
are new here. Consider subscribing and hey' at any point during this video be sure
to check my social media links down below ."So let's jump into the video. so the
first game we have over here is crazy fields as by the neat crazy needs as you
all can see that there is a rider sitting on the bicycle and what we need
to do in the game is to make you character jump and this game is still
not unders 10mb it is 6.4 MV that is a main advantage that a dice game thermal
strips in envelope so now moving on to the second game we have over here is
bullies versus on B's yes I knew it that you guys had played the plant will sit
on place but this game is police pursue donkeys
yes and now the question arises that how much MP it has better only 6 MB now the
benefits of having a game like this that it can be installed any die box smart in
which having more storage old testament and on this is with the distillates it
runs you so what you need to know in the game is that you will find a policeman
who is holding a gun and you need to shoot simple as that and it has three
thousand dollars on base - yes
so the third game behalf over here is the brave ninja yes this is by best game
in these top five half of this video because we get an Internet and we have
to save him through objectives take him to a journey and let him jump
and this game is still not hundred then and we need to jump the ninja through a
bridge and this is not dated before this game is very addictive and very very
chilling fifth game we have over here is sniper models mindfulness we can choose
Hauser or dreadful ended and we get story mode in it as we all can see that
it has endless mode so inclusive of a good story mode propagation and this
shoot like this weekend you can kill your enemy and other characters which
are in between and it's traffic's come on row they are really amazing and it
has the basically T million downloads or pays to guess I think so you can also
check it out ok so now moving on to the fifth game we have over here is friction
which is last but not the least yes friction this game is like by the
name fiction this game doesn't have downloads as you all can see that it has
only one free downloads routes that's the number but we need to do in
the game is to jump and turn the theme of the game and this is really amazing
end of it twisdom and it's team is also very very amazing
so now the question of the day arise is that what do you guys thing about these
five apps let me know in the comment down section below remember that some of
the best feedback in fact come from you guys if you want a copy and you can also
check out me on Instagram and you can follow me over there personally and fast
but every question you wanna ask me were there personally and
that is that is the video for today and I will see you guys next video peace

SONIA Full Interview- With ITV Reporter Caroline Whitmore - Duration: 3:49.Well I'm delighted to be joined by the wonderful Sonia in Cafe Promenade, how are you doing?
Oh, I'm doing fantastic. I'm on board this ship, it's absolutely amazing!
It really is isn't it. Now tell us all about Floating Festivals, cause you're part of the ultimate 80's experience
aren't you? Tell us all about that.
Yes, well we're just going to come on board and take over! It's going to be a massive 80's party
on board this magnificent ship, some fantastic artist. Unbelievable, I'm mean, artists that I grew up with loving, you know.
The Human League, OMD, Andy Bell from Erasure, Chesney Hawkes, Pat Sharp spinning the discs...
And of course you get to explore this magnificent ship, with an ice rink, the theatre's fabulous. There's so much to see and do.
You can get pampered, there's a spa! I mean, it's endless, it's fantastic.
It is incredible how they can fit all that onto one ship and then you're all thrown in for good measure as well!
The 80's is your era. It's just going to be such a throwback, isn't it.
Well this is just like a massive, massive party and luxury, and as you say, if you are a lover of the 80's
this is the place to be.
So how does it work for you on stage then? I mean, do you kind of wear Sonia stuff now, or because it's 80's do you
wear what Sonia would have worn back then?
Well you mix and match really. A lot of people will probably come dressed up anyway, cause they always do.
The outfits are unbelievable because they dress up as all the people that were from the 80's and well, you know
the TV shows and all this Wonder Woman, Hi-de-Hi stuff.
So it's just one big party, but they do dress up a lot!
You know, and I kinda dress up, but it's me now, but obviously I still do all of the hits that they wanna hear
and with the shows it's hit after hit after hit with all the artist.
It takes you back to when you were a kid, it's just reliving it all again with complete and utter luxury all around you.
So you said about dressing up! Is this what you meant?!
Do you know what, I think that you look fab! It's great isn't it!
Tell you what, I remember these! These were my Madonna gloves weren't they, she had black ones didn't she.
But I've got nice bright yellow ones!
I've noticed that you're not joining in Sonia, come on!
I will do on the night!
She will do on the night!
I'll have all the gear on on the night.
I think that people will look a lot better than I do right now though.
They will be enjoying Throwback a lot better.
Do you know what you need, you need leg warmers!
I need a big ra-ra skirt as well!
Yeah, and the leg warmers as we said, yeah you need all that!
Well, I'd love to get involved! But that's what everyone will be doing, they'll all be getting up and looking like me!
Oh, you wouldn't believe, the lengths that they go to with these costumes, it's just hilarious the way they all dress up
but they love it all. They have all the Wham gear on and all that! And you get people from Hi-de-hi and all that type of stuff
and all the kids programs that we had when we were kids. But it's hilarious cause I'm looking out trying to see who's who!
It's funny, it's really funny.
So get dressed up, Ok!

Intel® Developer Zone Update | May 2018 | Intel Software - Duration: 2:44.I'm Stephanie Essin, and this is the Intel Developer Zone
update.
In this episode we provide marketing tips
for your indie game, bring you the newly released Intel System
Studio 2018 Update 1, and show you
how to improve your VR projects with Google blocks.
If you're an indie game developer
and you're ready to bring your game to market,
consider these tips.
Focus on a single brand, snag a good domain name,
keep it simple, avoid branding by committee,
apply your brand consistently, and protect your brand.
This article, Get Ready, Get Noticed,
Get Big: A Practical Guide to Marketing Your Indie Game,
will give you more tips about marketing
your game that can be directly applied to your strategy.
It covers everything from marketing on a budget
to tips about self-promotion and how to become an authority
figure in your industry.
Just recently released Intel System Studio 2018 Update 1.
You can now tap into new features
that make system and IoT application development easier.
Here's how it can help.
Move from prototype to product easier with new capabilities
that seamlessly import apps from our Arduino Create
to Intel System Studio.
Developers can create, build, and edit native Java apps
using Intel System Studio.
And you can use code samples easily
through the new project Creation Wizard,
which automatically sets configuration options for you.
Check it out.
We're breaking the typical workflow for VR development
with Google Blocks.
VRs unique visual perspective creates
issues of scale, placement, and detail when
prototyping, and the combination of code and assets
can get tricky.
There are some huge benefits to prototyping in VR, including
working in the natural 3D environment
by actually moving and shaping in room scale.
In this way, 3D modeling is more like working with clay
than it is adjusting vertices in a modeling app.
Google Blocks provides a simple build by creating and modifying
primitives approach for VR that allows
quick volumetric sketching.
This combination of modified shapes and simple color
surfaces also lends itself to an aesthetic style that
is clean looking and low poly.
Here's what it could look like.
First you'd use the Google Blocks app to build
models in VR using an HTC Vive.
Next, you'll export and share the models
using the Google Poly Cloud Service.
Then use the models in Unity or Unreal Engine software
for actual development.
Lastly, work with the models in your preferred modeling
app for finalized asset development.
Thanks for watching.

Grinding Corn Meal At Home - Duration: 2:22.Grinding Corn The Quick and Easy Way
Have you ever thought about grinding your own corn meal at home?
Today, we'll show you how!
(Music)
Hi, welcome to our kitchen today, we're so glad you could join us.
I'm Dad from Kitchen Time With Dad and this is Leah, and today we have something special
we're going to make!
What are we going to make today, Leah?
Corn meal.
So what is this that we need to put in our blender?
Popcorn.
So we're going to take 2 cups of popcorn and put it in our dry container for our Vitamix.
Go ahead and put that right in there.
Ooh, good.
Now if you blend it for 60 seconds, you will probably make Masa or corn flour.
We just want corn meal for corn bread, so we're going to blend it for about 30 seconds,
or as you watch the texture, you just make it as fine or as rough ground as you really
want it to be.
So go ahead and turn this on right here, Leah, this one right here.
(Blender)
Okay, so we have ground it for awhile and we have corn meal.
Doesn't that feel like corn meal?
Yah, that's kind of cool.
So we're going to go ahead and pour it in this big bowl and see that's it fine.
Now there are a couple clumps in there, just from all the heat.
So we've got our whisk and we're going to whisk that around.
Go ahead and whisk it up a little bit.
So we've taken our corn meal out of our dry container for the Vitamix and poured it into
a bowl.
We whisked out just a few clumps that were in there and now we are going to make corn
bread with our corn meal.
And, a, it's exciting to make your own stuff here at home.
There's no preservatives in it.
We're so glad you could join us today on Kitchen Time With Dad.
Tell us below in the comments if you ever tried to make your own corn meal.
It's real easy!
We'd love to here from you.
Thanks so much for us in our kitchen today.
Subscribe so you can come back and see again what memories we're building as we work in
the kitchen.
We say, "Healthy Food for Happy Families."
That's right!
Thanks so much!

Interview: Juliene McLaughlin on Creativity - Duration: 1:40.Juliene: Hi, my name is Juliene McLaughlin, and I am one of two (2) User Experience Librarians
here at the McLaughlin Library.
Text on Screen: When are you at your most creative?
Juliene: When I have other creative people around me, and it's like 10-15 minutes into
the brainstorm so the really wild ideas are starting to come out.
Yeah, I think a lot of it has to to with the people around you and the environment, so,
feeling safe, and feeling like you can say anything and not be judged, so that has a
lot to do with your colleagues, but also a creative, fun environment I think helps as
well.
Text on Screen: What are some things that prevent creativity?
Juliene: Resistance to change, from colleagues, not being willing to just fail, or experiment
and then fail.
I know for me it helps that I work with someone pretty closely, who literally always says
yes to any of the ideas that I have, which are not always great ideas, but we do it,
and we learn from it.
Text on Screen: What advice would you give to someone starting a creative project?
Juliene: Just do it?
Why not?
That's it.
I think Nike made that slogan.
