(Singing) I know my God has made the way for
me. I know my God has made the way for me.
ANNOUNCER: Jesus desires to heal you and do
miracles on your behalf. Your faith is necessary
to receive what God has for you, so activate your faith and live
victoriously. Now let's join Kenneth Copeland
for today's Believer's Voice of Victory.
KENNETH: Let's open our Bibles this morning,
please, first of all, to Matthew, Chapter 8. Now,
we have been following Jesus. We've learned that Capernaum was
home. Say it, "Home." AUDIENCE: Home. KENNETH: Jesus' home was
in Capernaum. And go through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
All of them declare and show you--the 4th chapter of Matthew
gives the scripture of why He lived in Capernaum. He didn't
just get up one morning and decide, "I don't like it here in
Nazareth. I'm going to Capernaum." He did not do
anything like that. If you will study carefully, you can sum up
the ministry of Jesus like this, particularly if you start with
the 14th chapter of John when He said, "The words that I speak
unto you are not my own; it is the Father that dwells within
me, he does the works." And then He said, "I only say what I
hear my Father say. I only do what I see my Father do." Jesus
made no decisions outside the Word, outside of faith, outside
of love, amen-- AUDIENCE: Amen. KENNETH: --because He made no
decisions on His own. Isn't that wonderful? (Audience Agrees)
Glory to God. Now, He moved to Capernaum because God had spoken
in His Word by the prophets that He would move to Capernaum. So
He did. Amen. And do you know, they have found that house, and
they--they thought it was Peter's house. They found
the--the foundation of it and so forth, because it was so big.
But they have realized, no, it wasn't Peter's house. It was
Jesus' house. (Audience "Amens") Amen. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE:
Hallelujah. KENNETH: Now, when you--when you begin to see those
small--I was starting to say, "grains," but they're not
grains. They're--they're small nuggets. Oh, they're precious.
The things that--that I like to call "going widescreen." I
was--you know 51 years in the ministry how many times you read
these things? Over and over and over and over and over again. I
was studying--you know, I read where God blessed Adam. Then I
read where God blessed Noah. And then I read where God blessed
Joseph. Then I read where God blessed Isaac--you know,
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, all down through the line. And especially
blessed Abraham. And one day, I mean, it just like--a light came
on. "That's the same blessing!" (Audience Agrees) Whoa.
AUDIENCE: Yes. KENNETH: Now, that's going widescreen.
(Laughter) You start seeing it from Genesis to Revelation.
AUDIENCE: Amen. KENNETH: Amen? (Audience "Amens") Now, this
will give you a clue into the ministry of Jesus. This is the
difference between what Jesus preached and what the Pharisees
and others in religious hierarchy preached. He preached
the blessing; they preached the curse. AUDIENCE: Right. KENNETH:
They majored on the curse of the law. The curse, "If you do this
on the sabbath..." See, that's where they got that. And
so--anyway... well, I get back online here. So now, from the
8th chapter--ha-ha--of the book of Matthew--what are you
laughing about? I'm just laughing because I love the
Lord, I love His work, and I love you. Praise God. (Audience
"Amens") Amen. You and I are in this together. Amen? (Audience
Agrees) Thank You, Lord. "When he was come down from the
mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, there came
a leper and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you will, you
can make me clean. Jesus put forth his hand, touched him,
saying, I will." "I will!" that settled it. He is no respecter
of persons. He can't have one will for one man and another
will for another. No, no. He settled it forever for all men
for all time. "I will." AUDIENCE: Amen. KENNETH:
Hallelujah. Say, "I will." (Audience Repeats) Now, say, "He
will. And He does. And I receive it." It's that simple! "I will;
be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy--his leprosy was
cleaned. Jesus saith unto him, See that thou tell no man; but
go thy way, and show thyself to the priests, and offer the gift
that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. And when
Jesus was entered into Capernaum--" AUDIENCE: Home.
KENNETH: Home. Write "home," right up there just beside that.
When Jesus went home, "there came unto him a centurion,
beseeching him, saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of
the palsy, grievously tormented. Jesus said, I will--" AUDIENCE:
He will. KENNETH: Ha-ha-ha. "I will come and heal him." You're
way too quiet. (Laughter) This Book is Jesus speaking to you
this morning. (Audience "Amens") He has just said, "I will come
and heal you." (Audience Agrees) AUDIENCE: Yes, amen! Glory!
KENNETH: Now, you have to put in your mouth, "He will." AUDIENCE:
He will. KENNETH: If He said, "I will," then you say, "He will."
AUDIENCE: He will. Yes, He does. KENNETH: Amen. (Audience
"Amens") See, you don't--don't ever let Jesus say one thing,
and you say something else. AUDIENCE: Amen, amen. KENNETH:
No, no, no. Fear does that. I--from--from these many years
in the Bible, if I believe God was going to heal anybody on
earth today, it's going to be me--(Laughter)--because I'm His
favorite, you know. (Laughter) Amen. (Audience "Amens") That's
the way faith thinks. That's the way faith talks. "Well, I'd like
to know who you think you are, Brother Copeland." Well, you
ain't got time for me to tell you. (Laughter) I'm a joint heir
with the king of Kings and the Lord of lords. I am--I walk with
Him, I talk with Him. We share secrets together. We praise our
Father together. Hallelujah. He's my financier. AUDIENCE:
Yes. Amen! Glory to God! Whoo! KENNETH: Well, you asked.
(Laughter) Thank You, Lord. He is my healer. (Audience Agrees)
Glory to God. Now then, let's--let's go on here. "The
centurion answered and said, Lord, I'm not worthy that thou
shouldst come under my roof." Now, there has been this--I'll
be as kind as I can--unscriptural humility. It's
actually a false humility, saying, "I'm just so unworthy."
Now, you just insulted the blood. You just insulted the
Scripture. "Brother Copeland, I would never do that." I know you
wouldn't do it intentionally. II Corinthians 5:17, "Any man--"
Now, let's stop here for a moment. Women, too. (Laughter)
Well, come on. Sometimes you have to--you know. I know--I
know this church is well taught, but we're talking to a lot of
people all over the world today on BVOVN. And there's a--you and
I will be shocked if we knew how many people, particularly in
other countries, are really hung up on that. He was not talking
about gender. The Bible doesn't talk about gender unless it
identifies itself "man" or "woman." AUDIENCE: Amen. That's
right. KENNETH: It's talking about mankind. (Audience Agrees)
Amen. (Audience "Amens") Hallelujah. (Audience
"Hallelujahs") There are male tigers, and there are female
tigers, but they're both tigers. (Audience "Amens") And one of
them--one of them will get you just as quick as the other one.
Ha-ha-ha-ha. Amen. A woman tiger ain't no weak tiger. AUDIENCE:
Come on. KENNETH: Mm-hmm. Just wanted to get that in.
(Laughter) Hallelujah. So any man, anybody that is in Christ--
AUDIENCE: Yes. KENNETH: --is a-- TOGETHER: --new creature.
KENNETH: Let's turn and look at--I want you to put your eyes
on this. Don't lose your place right there in the 8th chapter
of Matthew. II Corinthians, Chapter 5. "Therefore if any man
be in Christ, he is a new creature." Now look. "Old things
are passed away." There went all your unworthiness! (Audience
"Amens") Just--just wave it goodbye. Now, you're not worthy
in yourself. No one's worthy for what He did. But He did it
anyway, so let's take advantage of it. (Audience Agrees) "Old
things are passed away; behold, all things are new. And all
things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by
Jesus Christ--" Hallelujah. (Audience "Hallelujahs") See, He
did--He reconciled you to Him before you ever accepted Him as
Lord. He'd already done His part. AUDIENCE: Yes. KENNETH:
Yeah. See, God had already done His part. He--He's not holding
sin against anybody. He's already dealt with sin. Go on
right--just read the rest of that. Oh, come on. Shew! Anybody
on the planet can get saved anytime they want to. AUDIENCE:
Amen. KENNETH: And there is no sin under heaven but one that'll
keep them from being saved. That one sin is rejecting Jesus.
AUDIENCE: That's right. KENNETH: He's taken care of all the rest
of it. Hallelujah. (Audience "Hallelujahs") I baptized a
serial killer in water in the Bexar County Jail in San
Antonio, Texas. Killed 21 women. Became a good friend of mine and
had several opportunities to visit with him. And I was the
last person to visit with him right before he was--he was
executed. And we had--we had a great conversation there. And I
said, "Steven, do me a favor, will you?" He said, "Okay." Now,
that--the system with lethal injection, the minute they hit
the switch on that thing, it makes a loud clanging noise. You
know you're going to be dead in a few seconds. It's--it's--it's
not easy unless you know Jesus. And--ha-ha--Warden Harvey, who
is a very good--very good friend of mine, we--anyway, I won't go
into all that. Anyway, Warden Harvey turned around and said,
"Steven, you got anything you want to say here, son?" Well,
he's strapped in this gurney. I'm about as far away from him
as from here to the front row. Just the little railing here,
and there were other people there to witness his execution.
So he's strapped to this gurney, and he's facing like this. And
all he could do is turn his head because his--his arms are
strapped down to the table, IVs in both arms like this. And I
said, "Steven, when the time comes, let me know if grace is
enough." "Yeah," he said, "I'll do that." So when Warden Harvey
gave him the opportunity to say something, he started preaching.
He said, "I want to tell y'all something," big smile on his
face. "I want to tell y'all something. If the Holy Ghost
could do something with somebody like me, think what He could do
with you if you would just receive Jesus as your Lord and
Savior." I mean, he's preaching, and he went on. And, of course,
the warden is letting him get on with as much of it as he
possibly can, see? And so finally, he interrupted him and
said, "Steven, forgive me, son, but we've got business to do."
He said, "I understand." And he laid down there like this, and
he's--he's like this, you know, and he's--he looked over at me.
(Laughter) Not this. "More than enough." Seconds later--no,
excuse me. I said it wrong. That clanging noise happened. That's
when he looked over and said that, "More than enough." A few
seconds later, he was looking at Jesus. Hallelujah. (Audience
"Hallelujahs") "I don't see how God is saving a no-good like
that." The same way He saved a no-good like you. (Audience
Agrees) AUDIENCE: That's right. Amen! KENNETH: And me. Amen!
(Audience "Amens") All right. Where was I when the Lord took
us over there? All right. "I will come and heal him. The
centurion answered and said, Lord, I'm not worthy--" He was
saying, "I'm not worthy" because this man was not a Jew. And that
was the ground from which he was speaking. He--he was--he was--he
had built a synagogue there. He had--he had helped every way he
could. He loved God, and he--and--but he knew. He was
speaking from a biblical standpoint. But things have
changed since then. Jesus went to the cross since then. Jesus
went to hell since then. Jesus raised from the dead since then,
glorified, seated on the right hand of the Father-- AUDIENCE:
Amen. KENNETH: --bringing the new birth. Hallelujah. (Audience
"Hallelujahs") Amen. (Audience "Amens") "I'm not worthy that
you come under my roof: but speak the word only, my servant
shall be healed." Did he say faith, or did he not say faith?
He didn't say, "Speak the word only, and if we can, we'll do
our best to receive, but if it's not Your will--" No, no. Jesus
already said, "I'll come and heal him." AUDIENCE: Amen.
KENNETH: The will was already established. No. He--he said,
"Speak the word only, my servant shall be healed. For I am a man
under authority, having soldiers under me: I say to this man, Go,
and he goes; to another, Come, and he cometh; to my servant, Do
this, and he does it." See what he said? "I understand what it
means to command." Now, this man was an officer in the Roman
army. He's a centurion. He didn't get there by being
sloppy. He got there by command authority. So this is a man that
understands authority from both sides. He became--he got
promoted because he was a man that would go when they said,
"Go," and come when they said, "Come," and do it when they
said, "Do this." So he said, "You say it, my servant will be
healed." Now, notice this: "When Jesus heard it, he marveled--"
Now, there's another place He marveled at their unbelief. Ooh,
I don't want that. That's one marveling I don't want. I'm just
not going there. Ha-ha. Amen. I want to be caught believing God.
"--and said to them that followed, I say unto you, I have
not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." Now, that tells
me Jesus was looking for faith. Why was He looking for faith?
Because faith is the connector. He's looking for faith
everywhere He can find it. He came here to heal, He came here
to deliver, He came here to do miracles, He came here to save,
He came here to seek, He came here--He came here for that
reason. He didn't come here to condemn. He came here to bless!
He didn't come here to put you down. He came to raise you up!
He didn't--hey! That's the only reason for His existence on the
earth! (Audience Agrees) AUDIENCE: That's right. KENNETH:
And He's looking for a connection somewhere. "Somebody
just believe me just a little--just believe me and
just--just a mustard seed, just enough for a mustard seed, and
I'll get rid of the mountains in your life." AUDIENCE: Yes. Amen.
Praise the Lord. KENNETH: That's the reason He continually said--
AUDIENCE: Hallelujah! KENNETH: --"Be it done unto you according
to your faith, because without your faith I'm helpless here."
ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed today's teaching from Kenneth
Copeland Ministries. And remember Jesus is Lord.
