Mamoudou Gassama: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know - Duration: 11:18.

Mamoudou Gassama: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Facebook Mamoudou Gassama, a Malian migrant, is hailed as a hero after a courageous rescue to save a small boy dangling from a balcony in Paris.

Mamoudou Gassama, a Malian immigrant currently residing in France, has been hailed as a hero following the unbelievable rescue of a young boy dangling from a fourth-story apartment porch in Paris on Sunday.

A video shows 24-year-old Gassama scaling the building while the boy dangled desperately from the balcony as concerned passerby watched from below.

The video went viral almost immediately, reaching French president Emmanuel Macron, who offered the Malian immigrant a French citizenship for his heroic actions. Macron also rewarded Gassama with French nationality and a job as a firefighter.

According to reports by The Times, Gassama was an illegal immigrant who arrived in France in September last year and, following his heroics, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo promised to assist him in obtaining a visa.

Here's what you need to know:.

Gassama Scaled the Building in 30 Seconds and Pulled the Child to Safety, Thanking God for the Courage to Do So.

Gassama's daring rescue has earned him a superhero nickname of "Spider-Man" after he effortlessly climbed up the building, jumping from balcony to balcony as the child desperately clung to the porch by his fingertips.

By the time Parisian emergency services arrived at the building, he had already pulled the child to safety.

He managed to reach the child in just over 30 seconds, and, with the help of the neighbor, the two men were able to haul the child back over the railing.

"I like children," Gassama told CNN International.

"I would have hated to see him getting hurt in front of me.".

"I ran and looked for solutions to save him, and thank God I scaled the building to that balcony," Gassama said during his interview.

"When I started to climb, it gave me the courage to keep climbing.

Gassama and the boy were both treated for shock, but neither of them sustained any injuries.

Gassama Met with French President Emmanuel Macron After the Daring Rescue, Earning Him a French Citizenship and a Superhero Nickname.

President Emmanuel Macron invited Gassama to the Élysée Palace on Monday, where he was given a certificate and a gold medal for performing an act of courage and dedication, according to CNN.

Gassama told Macron: "I didn't think about it, I climbed up and God helped me.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said on her official Twitter on Sunday that she had called Gassama to thank him, congratulating the Malian migrant on his act of bravery.

"He explained to me that he arrived from Mali a few months ago with the dream of making a life for himself here.

I replied that his heroic act is an example for all citizens and that the city of Paris will obviously be keen to support him in his efforts to settle in France," she posted to Twitter.

– With Mr Gassama who saved a child's life on Saturday by climbing 4 floors with his bare hands.

I told him that in recognition of his heroic act he would have his papers in order as quickly as possible and that the Paris fire brigade would be keen to welcome him to their ranks.

I also invited him to submit a naturalization request because France is built on desire and Mr Gassama's commitment clearly showed that he has that desire! A post shared by Emmanuel Macron (@emmanuelmacron) on May 28, 2018 at 2:15am PDT.

Speaking to CNN-affiliate BFM TV after the rescue, Gassama said he had been in the neighborhood to watch the Champions League final at a local restaurant when he saw the commotion.

Gassama Says He Acted on Instinct when He Saw the Child Dangling from the Rail; He and the Boy were Shaken After the Incident but Otherwise Generally Unharmed.

After pulling the child to safety, Gassama told BFMTV that he was shaken, but grateful for the strength to rescue him.

After the adrenaline wore off when he reached the apartment, he said he became scared and started shaking, as would anybody who just climbed four stories to save a life.

"I felt afraid when I saved the child … [when] we went into the living room, I started to shake, I could hardly stand up, I had to sit down.

Gassama also says that he only acted on instinct when he saw the toddler dangling from the raililng.

"I saw all these people shouting and cars sounding their horns," he told BMFTV.

"I climbed up like that and, thank God, I saved the child.".

Macron asked Gassama how the child was when he was rescued.

He replied: "He was crying because he was hurt.".

Gassama Left his Native Mali in West Africa to Live with His Brothers and Several Cousins in "Squalid Migrant Lodgings" East of Paris.

According to The Telegraph, Gassama, 22, left his native Mali in West Africa as a teenager in 2013, according to Le Monde.

"He crossed the Sahara desert through Burkina Faso, Niger and Libya and then traversed the Mediterranean to Italy in 2014 at his second attempt," the Telegraph reports.

"His first bid failed when he was intercepted at sea by police." He told Macron that he had traveled to France because his brother had been living in France for many years. According to Le Figaro, he has been living in squalid migrant lodgings in Montreuil, east of Paris, with three brothers and several cousins.

The Boy has Been Placed with Social Services and his Father is Being Investigated for Abandoning his Parental Responsibilities.

Speaking to French news channel BFMTV Paris prosecutor Francois Molins, revealed:.

The father left the flat just as the incident was unfolding.

He went shopping and then decided to play Pokemon Go in the street which took a little time before he returned home.

The father is very upset because he realises what he did and what could have happened.

The boy's father, who had left him on his own in their flat to go shopping and play Pokemon Go, was arrested shortly after, according to The Mirror.

The child was placed in the care of social services.

The father is being investigated for abandoning his parental responsibilities, according to a spokesman for the Paris prosecutor.

He is no longer in custody, but will be sentenced in September, the spokesman said.

The family of the child have expressed heartfelt thanks to the Malian migrant who saved him, according to the Telegraph.

According to the Telegraph, the young boy had only been in Paris a few weeks before the incident.

According to the Telegraph, he has just left Réunion, the French Indian Ocean island, to join his father in Paris.

His mother and sibling were due to meet them in France shortly after.

The boy had already fallen a few floors before somehow managing to grab hold of the fourth-floor balcony, as he is said to have pointed upwards when a resident in the neighboring fourth-floor flat asked where he came from, according to the Telegraph.

According to his mother, the boy's father had little experience looking after him on his own and that this was not the first time he had left him alone.

Speaking of Gassama's heroic act, she said: "If I were to meet him, I think I would say what everyone is saying: 'thank you, thank you!' At any rate, I wouldn't have been able to go one better than the president.

using a random word generator to prank call in sick to jobs I dont have - Duration: 7:01.

hey guys how you doing how are you doing I like that but stick with that we're

all eventually going to die so this week I'm gonna be calling in

sick two jobs I don't have in knowing that I have extreme social anxiety this

is probably a step forward in the wrong direction I know this video has already

been done before but like why can't we relive old YouTube trends oh that's

right because dead YouTube trends go with a dead YouTube channel I love

myself but instead of doing a normal prank call we love pranks here I wanted

to do something different so I'm gonna have a random or generator generate

three random words that I have to incorporate to the phone call because

one word isn't enough torture so therefore this makes it not only a

traumatic experience but a challenge traumatic experience well we love

YouTube challenges oh god I'm so nervous by the way don't ask about these bones I

think this is what a mental breakdown looks like but I'm not sure yet we're

gonna stick with my heritage for the first phone call or at least a mock

event when you asked my Asian and Panda Express

my aunt's think Panda Express is disgraced but honestly I don't see it

probably because they also see me as a disgrace because I'm not doing med

school wait can I did banned for doing this it's just a prank bro cuz saying

that always seems torture we're also gonna generate a random name to use boy

or girl if it ends up landing on something like Sheneneh that's gonna be

so interesting even better so let's go ahead and generate a random baby

Pushpa already hate this challenge unfair a skin pull pull really fun to

incorporate ball without something I guess you're gonna hate myself

I don't want to do this my heart is beating I can't do it

musics not healthy music hi I need a : sick you're breaking out oh no that's

the old I didn't even get three words why did I hang up she was so nice try

again we'll call somewhere else we'll still have our name is pushed by bowtie

media autonomy and strap I don't even know what a tummy means a hour and try

okay I can work with that hi I need the Colin's sake because I'm

not doing so well miss can you hear me now

okay I'm trying to call in sick this hour as I'm not doing well coming to

work today oh this is Pushpa Pushpa yes I'm trying

to call in sick towards yeah I think it's like hay fever or something like

that the store number is the Daoist location

Pushpa oh okay my bad sorry about that

holy dying inside I got all three why did I think this was a good idea yes for

my store number like I don't have this door number of dad for doing their work

let's annoy some other family members so in this case Panda Express his sister

hey wait I remember one time in my high school history class you're like talking

about where we were and someone said they worked for pay way and in my head I

was like wow I won't pay way but what came out was a moan very traumatic

experience just like these phone calls this is either helping my social anxiety

or making it worse I didn't even like intend to moan either it was like oh I

love pay way but what came out was like ah so now everyone in that cause thinks

I have a pay way finish so just tell me what three words of music disappointment

responsibility info in the random name that we're gonna use pika what I've

never even heard of these names once again I'm on hold this only adds to my

anxiety why do you make me wait

hi I need the Cullen's sick today I think a responsibility for me to call in

sick today from work Deepika yeah I'm sorry it's like a disappointment without

having a whole lot of fun today so I'm coming have to call in sick today from

work I think like back in the house and I'm sorry my wife the back of the

house yes okay thank you

wait is there actually someone named Deepika that works oh my god

wait wait she just took it so nonchalantly she's like okay still not

winning anything for getting all these three words other than making everyone

else's life of living heavier Deepika and you're watching this and you work at

the Hancock Center in Austin I just gave you a free day off today and I'm sorry I

guess you're not washing dishes today - pika we're gonna call Taco Bell next

mostly because they're an Illuminati and I want to talk to the loominatee today

the dollar is powerful at Taco Bell was really behind this maybe it's the day

loominatee I'm going to get killed all right so let's go ahead and generate an

a you must first it's not the Russian hi my name is Oscar mainstream corporation

and supper oh is this the place to call in sick because I'm not feeling I'm

suffering from sickness today so I'm not gonna be able to come into work today

oh I'm sorry this is the wrong mainstream I'm my bad I'm sorry

what oh my god I'm gonna get Oh nope I'm not winning any prizes with this

challenge think the only thing that I'm winning is more anxiety I'm sorry to

anyone who actually has to deal with me today we're not leaving a message

because we do not want this to be stuck on someone's voice box I'm gonna need

the blacklist my number from just about everything now I figured this would be

just kind of like a fun like way for me to get used to calling people on the

phone even though it's like very like ridiculous way of doing it but if you

can just wanted to see me tortured by stuff even more its own collection leave

a like and hit that subscribe button down below because I'm new in every

single Tuesday and see you guys in these balls definitely weren't for a video

that I ended up deleting and now I have no use for these balls definitely not

yes I got a haircut no I'm not sure how I feel about it

8 Pancreatic Cancer Signs You Might Be Ignoring - Duration: 3:53.

8 Pancreatic Cancer Signs You Might Be Ignoring.

Your skin looks yellow.

"Jaundice is one of the clearest symptoms of pancreatic cancer," says Christopher DiMaio,

MD, a gastroenterologist at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

"Often, patients feel fine until one day a friend notices their eyes look yellow, then

they go to the doctor and find they have advanced pancreatic cancer."

Cancers that start near the head of the pancreas can block the bile duct, preventing bile from

reaching the intestines, where it helps break down fats and eventually leaves the body in

the stool.

This bile builds up and causes jaundice, which is yellowing of the skin or eyes.

It can also cause your skin to itch, according to the American Cancer Society.

These are other cancer symptoms women should never ignore and cancer signs men should never

ignore.

You experience abdominal or back pain.

Place the tip of your finger on the top of your abdomen, just below the breastbone.

Then imagine your finger pointing straight back through your body to the spine.

That's a common location that pancreatic cancer patients report feeling pain, says Dr. DiMaio.

"The pain is hard to describe, but a dull, internal pain in this area, or radiating around

the sides of your abdomen to the back, is a tip-off and you should get it checked out,"

he says.

Cancers that start in the body or tail of the pancreas can press on nearby organs, causing

pain.

If the cancer spreads to the nerves surrounding the pancreas, this can cause back pain.

Here are some more reasons your back might be hurting.

You have dark urine or greasy stools.

If your urine starts to look dark (brown or rust colored), this may signal a problem.

As bilirubin, a substance made by the liver that partly makes up bile, builds up in the

blood, urine darkens.

Here's what other urine changes can say about your health.

Clay-colored or greasy stools can also be symptoms of pancreatic cancer, as they can

be caused by cancer blocking the bile duct, says Dr. DiMaio.

You experience nausea or vomiting.

Cancer pressing on the far end of the stomach can cause a partial blockage, making it hard

for food to get through.

According to the American Cancer Society, this can cause nausea, vomiting, and pain

that tends to be worse after eating.

All of these things, therefore, could be symptoms of pancreatic cancer.

Here are the explanations behind 7 other common stomach pains.

You develop pancreatitis.

"Unexplained or chronic pancreatitis can be caused by a small tumor on the pancreas,"

says Dr. DiMaio.

Though pancreatitis is more commonly caused by gallstones, new medications, or alcohol

abuse, if you develop the condition and don't have any of those risk factors, it could be

something more serious, he says.

Don't miss these other signs of cancer in men that go ignored.

You have poor oral hygiene.

If your mouth is a mess of bad breath, inflamed gums, or loose teeth, it could be more than

bad hygiene.

"Pancreatic cancer patients are known to be susceptible to gum disease, cavities, and

poor oral health in general," according to researchers from NYU Langone Medical Center,

who conducted a study examining mouth bacteria of pancreatic cancer patients versus people

without.

They found that the presence of the same bacteria that has been tied to dental diseases like

periodontitis (inflammation of the gums) put participants at a 59 percent greater risk

of developing pancreatic cancer than those whose mouths didn't contain the bacteria.

Here's what else your teeth and mouth can reveal about your health.

You've recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

A diabetes diagnosis doesn't mean you'll get pancreatic cancer, but it is associated with

an increased risk.

One Mayo Clinic study found that 40 percent of pancreatic patients were diagnosed with

diabetes in the months before their cancer diagnosis.

The pancreas is responsible for creating insulin, so the early stages of the tumor may affect

the pancreas's ability to produce insulin, causing diabetes, says Dr. DiMaio.

Here's what else you should do right after a diabetes diagnosis.

You have unexplained weight loss.

If you suddenly have little to no appetite, or if you're losing weight without changing

your diet or exercise regimen, see your doctor; these are some of the common symptoms of pancreatic

cancer, says Dr. DiMaio.

Unexplained weight loss—or gain—is one thing that doctors themselves say you should

never ignore.

INTRODUCING A NEW VIDEO SERIES 🎬 | All Abilities Awareness Intro - Duration: 3:52.

People can get really caught up in the way they experience the world.

It's really easy to only think about your life and the way you go through things,

how your body feels.

I know before I got sick, I never wondered how anybody else felt.

I never considered what it would be like to live in a brain, or a body,

that didn't cooperate with me.

And when I suddenly found myself in that position, it was pretty shocking to realize that other

people live like this, too.

But what's even more shocking to me was how difficult it was

to get healthy people to understand.

Even now when I go to social events, sometimes I'm surrounded by a bunch of healthy people,

and my body's screaming at me, something that I'm doing that's bothering it,

or making it not feel well.

And I look around during these times and I wonder, "What would that person do if they

could feel my body right now?"

This is an issue even in the disabled community.

It's difficult to think about conditions other than the ones you have.

You wanna raise awareness.

You wanna find cures and treatments for your condition

cause you would benefit greatly from them...

but the fact of the matter is, there's a lot more than just your one condition,

and if the disabled community focuses only on their conditions

then it just turns into cliques.

Instead of really trying to raise awareness for disability as a whole.

This past month, in May, was apparently an awareness month for a lot of conditions,

including EDS.

What did strike me was that there were a lot of conditions that I didn't know a lot about,

but I did learn about this month because it was their awareness month.

One of the things I like to do is research other conditions and learn about other people's

lives, and how they live with their health.

And what it would be like if I had been diagnosed with something else.

Because I still live with my mom,

sometimes I'll tell her about these new conditions I learn about.

She's always shocked that it's another thing the body can mess up and do wrong.

But the thing is there's a lot of ways that bodies can mess up, and it's easy to focus

on the only ways that I hear about.

My conditions.

But I don't want to contribute to that problem.

In hopes of raising awareness for more than just EDS,

I am starting a new video series

that is going to be called

the All Abilities Awareness series.

Starting June 1st, I will be posting a video on the first Friday of the month about a particular

condition that you might not know a lot about.

I'll only be making one video a month so I have a month to thoroughly research and understand

the scientific and medical ramifications.

But I'm gonna try to speak in layman's terms as much as possible.

So if you're able-bodied or don't know a lot about medicine, you can still follow along.

The point of doing this will be to raise awareness for some of these conditions, but also to

hopefully show the variance of ways that bodies can act and sometimes even misfunction.

I also think it's important to make sure that I don't get stuck in my own experience again.

Before I was sick, I didn't even realize that your body could be taken for granted,

that one day your body could betray you.

I don't wanna be stuck thinking about only my conditions.

So I'm hoping this series will help prevent that.

Please be sure to like this video and give it a big thumbs up,

and look out for the video coming up this next Friday

that will be about a chronic health condition.

If you have any condition suggestions you want me to do, or you would be willing to

let me interview you about a health condition you have, comment down below or direct message

me on one of my many social media profiles,

and subscribe to my channel if you'd like to see more videos.

Thank you for watching

and I will see you guys in the next video!

Music City Must - JP Lawn Letters - Duration: 1:58.

We work in the middle of the night and weekends.

When you wake up, your sign will be there.

They're like two, little ninjas in the night, setting up signs like the one behind me in

your yard.

It's a surprise gift that you can have done for birthdays, anniversaries, or teacher appreciation

- like we are doing tonight.

It's the girls of 'JP Lawn Letters' and it's my next Music City Must.

We are both librarians, we work together, and we just came up with this idea to do a

sign business on the side.

We love our jobs but this is a lot of fun, too.

We set up fun signs for people to help them celebrate special events like weddings, graduations,

birthdays, anniversaries, or anything you can think of - we can pretty much do it.

We find out what they would like us to do, and we customize the sign to fit their needs.

Then, we show up sometimes in the dead of night, sometimes in the early mornings and

set it up.

What we are doing is it's Sunday night before teacher appreciation week at West Elementary,

and we are putting up a sign that says, 'West Staff Is The Best.'

Their PTO contacted us and wanted to do it for their teachers.

We actually found out about these yard signs and we wanted to put those out there.

JP Lawn signs has done a great job for us.

They came out, they put up all of the letters for us this evening, and our teachers and

parents are going to be so excited to see everything.

We love seeing the pictures we get back.

Those are the best things, seeing people happy.

The girls are going to let me try one now.

It's not as easy as it looks, ok?

Make sure you measure up.

There are so many special events in people's lives, it's just kind of fun to be a part

of it.

To get the girls putting up letters in your yard, just hit the link next to the story.

If you have another idea for a Music City Must, just message me on Facebook at

Casie Mason NC5.
