Name, nickname, age, place of birth.
My name is Vadim, I'm from Rostov-on-Don, my nickname is Pokamolodoy, 21 years old.
What did you do before esports?
I studied, did some sports.
Where did you study?
RGSU, but now it has another name, they merged the universities, DSTU, technical university.
4th year, I will have a presentation of my thesis soon.
How did you decide to try yourself in this industry?
I just enjoyed playing games, then I decided to try PUBG, started my own team, and it just happened.
What's your family's and friends' attitude towards esports?
They didn't really support me at first, but then they became totally supportive, everything is fine.
What games did you play before PUBG?
I played H1Z1 for a long time, I've met Shade there, we were rivals all the time.
I've played around 2000 hours, I was pretty decent.
Before H1Z1, I played CS:GO, 1.6, Source, and aother shooters, like Battlefield, CoD.
Why did you choose PUBG?
It's an entertaining game, you have to survive, win, kill, it suits me.
I've always played shooters, Battlefield, CoD, CS are shooters, I didn't enjoy racing, for example.
How did you start your cooperation with NAVI?
I started my own team, we played for a while and didn't have any offers,
we qualified for PGL first, attended the tournament and placed 2nd.
After that, we started to think about joining an organization, and Lera offered us this team - NAVI.
What are your expectations for the GLL Season 1 LAN Grand Finals?
To be honest, this tournament is very difficult,
because all the participating teams went through the qualifiers, and then the league stage.
This journey was long, also there are 15 very strong teams apart from us: 8 from the U.S, and 7 from EU.
It's gonna be tough.
Should the developers reconsider SKS and Mini-14 stats?
Hm, SKS is a strange weapon, I don't like it, I won't use until they change it.
Mini... if they make it the same as it was before, I'd use it.
It was a good weapon, not anymore though, very few people use it now.
Do you consider the game balanced right now? Should there be some stat reworks?
The game isn't balanced well, it depends on the circle, if there is no circle nearby,
you have to move by car, or on foot, it's difficult.
People can camp you, outplay you, so the most important thing is to make it into the circle,
everything else is less important, so the balance isn't that great.
What do you think of red circles? Some players think they should be removed.
It's a fact, it hinders your play.
You drop School or Pecado for example, make 10 kills, drive forward and get killed by the red zone.
It's not adequate, it should be removed.
Should the developers reconsider the balance of different armor tiers, or are they perfectly balanced?
At this point, it's fine, I like the balance, it fits the game.
Is M416 imbalanced?
Yes, it's nice to spray with it.
Should the pan be penetrable for the sake of realism?
I don't know, I'd rather remove it, sometimes it saves lives.
The guy runs forward, people shoot him in the face, and bullets hit the pan somehow,
and it saves the guy, I'd rather remove it.
Do you enjoy custom modes like deathmatch? Should they be added to the game officially?
If they balance it properly, then yes.
You have to land, and you can get killed in the air, it's not right.
Also VSS, SKS are useless there, during the warm-up.
Your three most favorite weapons.
M16A4, M416, AUG.
Which one is better: to drop into a village with no one around, loot,
and start playing the game, or to drop into a very crowded place?
Probably you shouldn't drop into School straight away, you should drop Mylta or something.
I started from Mylta, you can say I learned to play there.
Then I moved to Pochinki, and to School eventually, I've dropped into both locations.
How to improve your skill?
You have to take fights, not being afraid. Even if you die constantly, it's not that bad,
you have to learn shooting, it's very important, because you should be ready to take any fights,
4vs4, 3vs3, even 2vs4, it doesn't matter.
Quite often the organizers invite the most famous teams to their tournaments.
Do you think it's unfair, or a good squad can always find an org?
A good team will always find a tag, but it's difficult.
You have either to invite all teams, or to make qualifiers for everyone, but there are cheaters in the qualifiers.
The qualifiers can consist of 1000 teams, there are cheaters for sure among them,
it's hard to defeat them, they can do anything.
So it should be more structured, qualifiers or invites.
The duo tournament from GLL has finished recently. How did you like it? Would you take part in the second season?
I started with duo actually, at first I played with my brother, he hooked me on this game.
When my brother saw that I was doing pretty well, I moved forward, I've met Jean, Mumino.
We started playing some duo tournaments, some casual duo, squads, and I didn't really dig the duo mode.
Shade and I recently played a duo tournament and I didn't enjoy it,
because there were a lot of teams and a lot of cheaters, people camping in the bushes.
Which is not the case at a tournament like this,
it's a different style of play here where no one is going to camp bushes with the SKS in the first circle.
I don't like duo, but maybe I'll play in the future, we'll see.
Should the amount of airdrop loot in tournaments be increased?
Airdrop is not a common thing to find.
Only if it lands nearby.
Something could be added.
Like make it a double airdrop,
but with one gun, two level 3 vests and two level 3 helmets, at most.
Otherwise, it'd be imbalance.
What's your take on the new map? Do you want it to be played in tournaments?
I've only tested it out for one day and I didn't particularly like it,
because people die there so quickly and only 15-20 make it past the first circle.
The whole action lasts only the first 5 minutes,
then you're just running around trying to find someone.
There are no vehicles... Well, there are,
but they probably won't be used for rotations on this map, if it makes into the competitive map pool.
But the map is not ready for it yet.
At GLL, Erangel and Miramar are played the same number of times, is it the right decision? Do you like the desert map?
Yes, it is.
There are two tournaments maps, which means there should be 8 Erangel and 8 Miramar games.
The only thing is that 8 games per day is too much.
Do you like Miramar?
Yes, this is one of my favorite maps,
because you don't have to use vehicles there, you can move on foot and take firefights.
That's why I love Miramar.
How do you feel about the amount of loot being increased in tournaments?
That's a good thing because if you're playing Miramar without a loot multiplier,
meaning no increased amount of M's and scopes,
you won't be able to find anything.
Only an M4 with 60 rounds and very rarely a scope.
This shouldn't be the case.
Do in-game bugs affect the competitive part of PUBG?
Of course.
Motorbikes get glitched underground, underwater.
People get blown up out of the blue, just randomly explode in a car.
Of course this heavily affects tournament play.
You're driving as 4, and then suddenly two of your squad members blow up in a car.
Are you good at CS:GO? What's your rank?
I used to be good.
I was Global, I played FaceIT, but didn't achieve much.
What's the difference for you between playing online and offline?
The con of playing at home is that you're used to the environment,
no one's bothering you, you can just sit back and play.
But here... I don't know...
The good thing is that there are not cheaters on LAN. That's it.
After an unsuccessful tournament, teams tend to reshuffle or even disband. Why is it happening?
Maybe their styles of play just don't fit in.
Some players play more safe, some focus more on kills.
Maybe a team needs an aimer or a guy who can survive for long.
Could there be a dominant team in the PUBG competitive scene, like NAVI used to be in the early Dota 2 days?
Or will every tournament bring a new champion?
There are currently two strong teams in the scene: FaZe and Vitality.
Although Vitality didn't even make it to this tournament.
FaZe always post top 1-4 finishes in competitions.
What qualities should a pro player have?
Probably calmness and confidence in your actions. That's it.
How does your typical day start?
I wake up, eat, if I have university matters to attend, take exams and tests, I head there.
Then I come here, eat and start playing pubs, streaming.
In the evening we play some leagues, like PUBG Online, Auzom and so on.
Or we just play pubs.
Then I go to sleep, and repeat.
Also, I go out, of course.
How much time do you spend playing?
Over 6 hours a day I guess.
Sometimes I take a breather from the game.
How do you keep fit?
I don't.
I'm in a normal physical form.
I did sports for 12 years:
11 years of Kudo, it's like a mixed martial art but with protective gear to the head.
And a year and a half of boxing.
Who has influenced you the most?
Probably my parents and my brother. It can't be any other way.
What do you value most in friends?
Loyalty is the most important thing in friendship.
What do you hate in people?
When people lie I guess. Only this.
What's your current goal in life?
Since I'm a pro player at the moment, my current goal is to keep playing, qualify for tournaments and win them.
I don't know what comes next, but that's how I roll now.
What do you picture yourself doing 20 years from now?
I'll probably be fat, sitting around drinking beer.
What one thing would you bring to a zombie apocalypse?
A weapon.
Any weapon to kill zombies.
What are your top 3 favorite games?
PUBG, CS:GO, H1Z1.
3 favorite apps?
3 favorite movies/series?
Series: Lost. I used to watch it, it's a cool series.
Prison Break too.
Movies: Equilibrium. It's a great movie.
3 things you can't live without?
A PC, a bed and a house.
What social media platforms are you on?
VK, Instagram, Twitter. Only these.
A shout-out to my parents and my brother.
Thank you to NAVI and our sponsors.
