The positive aspects of depression. Now that's probably a video you weren't

expecting to see in your timeline today. Especially since our timelines are

infiltrated, by, incoherent messages and messages reinforcing the fact that we do

not belong. It's a mess out there in the world, and I think that's why more and

more people are feeling the symptoms of depression. Now, I always liken that

feeling of depression as if, Clark Kent doesn't know he's Superman. You know

that's what depression is and that's how it manifests, because there's a truth

inside every single one of us, and each of us are suppressing that truth on a

daily basis, as we interact with the world, as we try and attempt to fit in, as

we try and become the people we see in the billboards, and the magazines and

the TV shows. That's what's feeding our depression.

You want to overcome depression?

You need to start expressing your truth, you need to

start being yourself, you need to start living life more independently. To be an

independent force, to access your potential, your individual potential, that

requires you to become an independent force of nature. Now, it's amazing how

many, influencers out there quote these incredible individuals like Gandhi and

Dr. Martin Luther King and Maya Angelou. All these individuals who have prevailed

over society's burdens. But notice one thing about them, every single one of

them independently expressed truth, and I can tell you that every single one of

these people probably suffered, to some extent, some depression.

And I've noticed that most people who really fight for change, most people who

are seen as great individuals, come from a very dark place.

So if you're wondering why you're depressed, it's because your mind is

telling you that you're worth something. Your mind is trying to convince you that

there's something wrong out there and that there's nothing wrong with you.

But we've interpreted it the wrong way around, we've accepted the fact that

everything's right out there and everything is wrong within, and this is

why our depression continues to grow. So the positive sides of depression,

dissociation, well you need that in order to think independently. You need to

detach from society for even just a moment, to think clearly, to think openly

and expressively, to think outside the box of that status quo. Depression

restricts us from interacting with the world, while we need that in order to

reflect and evaluate, to really explore what we really want from life and what

fulfillment actually looks like. You know, a lot of people I work with are depressed,

the only reason why, is because I'm in the industry of personal development.

And a lot of these people who express symptoms of depression, who

have worked with their therapists who've told them to pop pills to numb their

feelings. When you actually have a conversation with a depressed person,

when you allow them to express their truth and not judge them for it, and

accept the way they feel is true and that that's a genuine concern to have

about the world. You realize how gentle these individual souls are, you

realize- not fragile- that these people- anyone dealing with depression, myself

included, we are not fragile people, and I think that's a misconception. If anything,

we are people of incredible strength, to deal with this mental illness on a daily

basis but the problem is, the world doesn't want you to be strong.

So long as you conform and consume, you're a part of society, but there's

something incredibly wrong with that, and I think that's what our depressions are

clueing us in to. Imagine you're Clark Kent but not knowing that you're Superman.

That's your depression. That's how you relate to it. You know, the best gift that

you can give anyone is their independence, your depression is trying

to present you with that gift.

Miller, Being Vetted by the White House, Was Suggested to Trump by Speaker Paul Ryan for VA Post.

The Washington Post reported Miller met Wednesday with the Trump administration vetting office, and said that "Miller told people close to the White House that he expects to meet with Trump in coming days.

" It was also reported that Speaker Paul Ryan "publicly suggested (Miller) to Trump…".

And Trump himself has said a more politically savvy and experienced secretary may be a better fit for the job overseeing an administration.

The VA, established in 1930, provides healthcare, as well as disability compensation, education grants, loans, life insurance, vocational rehab and burial benefits.

There are more than 375,000 employees at VA hospitals, medical clinics, local and state benefits offices and all the 135 VA cemeteries.

The costs to run the department includes administration and all benefits totaling more than $270 billion in 2017.

The secretary of the VA is a cabinet level position.

Miller, a Democrat Until 1997, Began His Political Career as a Florida State Legislator.

A bipartisan poll in 2105 following the wait times scandal, despite the overwhelming concern about veterans getting appropriate and timely health care, privatization was still not endorsed by vets.

Acknowledging the issue of privatization is central to the Trump nominee pick and ultimately who is named secretary, Concerned Veterans for America, while not endorsing Miller, is in favor of choice and reform and has encouraged the Trump administration to make choice a priority.

After Miller Left Office, He Became a D.C.-Based Healthcare, Defense & Intelligence Lobbyist.

Miller works McDermott, Will & Emery as a lobbyist advising "clients in the health care, defense and intelligence industries in areas including lobbying, legislative strategy, government contracting and Congressional investigations, his bio on the firm website reads in part.

"…Jeff is well known by members of the (Trump) Administration and a number of leaders of the various (administration) Departments," his bio reads.

"Jeff has extensive experience advancing Republican legislative initiatives within Congress …".

The Military Times spoke to Miller in 2017 about his return to Washington D.C.

as a lobbyist and about Pres.

Trump's plans for the VA.

"I think President Trump is doing exactly what he promised," said Miller, who worked on Trump's presidential campaign as an adviser.

"He has a plan, he is moving in that direction, and he's going to follow that.

So none of what I've seen has been surprising to me.".

"That plan includes promises of significant reforms to VA programs," it was reported.

Gina Frederiksen, a mother of three from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was murdered in what police say was a random garage invasion that culminated in a fire.

Authorities characterized the attack as "random," and they've accused Timothy Wesley Evans of slaying the 38-year-old Frederiksen, whose garage was set alight in an attack that started out as a burglary.

Frederiksen died from "traumatic injuries to her head and other parts of her body.".

Here's what you need to know:.

Authorities Pulled Frederiksen's Body Out of Her Burning Garage.

Frederiksen was murdered on Sunday morning April 29, 2018.

Cedar Rapids firefighters and police officers "were dispatched to 1814 I Street SW at 7:34 a.m.

on Sunday morning when neighbors heard a loud boom and saw a garage fully involved with fire," reported the Cedar Rapids police.

"Emergency responders arrived on scene and found the detached garage fully engulfed in flames.

A police officer at the scene helped pull an adult female victim out of the burning garage.

Emergency medical care was rendered.

The victim died a short time later at a local hospital.

The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner determined that the victim died as the result of a homicide.".

"An investigation by the Police Department identified a suspect in the case.

The suspect, identified as Timothy Wesley Evans, age 38, was arrested this afternoon for Murder-1st Degree, Burglary-1st Degree, Robbery-1st Degree, and Arson-1st Degree," wrote the police on Facebook.

"Evans is accused of breaking into the detached garage, assaulting and murdering the victim, and then setting the garage on fire.

Evans was arrested at the Cedar Rapids Police Station and transported to the Linn County Jail.".

Evans Was Previously Investigated in Another Fire & Was Released From Custody Just Two Days Before the Homicide.

Evans, who was homeless, was already on the radar screen of police – for a similar incident.

The Associated Press reported that he was released from custody only two days before the homicide.

A previous incident occurred in November 2017, According to The Courier, Cedar Rapids authorities "were called to a fire that damaged another home.

Officers found a sliding glass door had been broken out, and the house had been ransacked before someone set a fire in the middle of the living room using gasoline.".

After DNA showed Evans was allegedly a "potential donor," police sought a DNA test in February, the newspaper reported, adding that he wasn't arrested in that case but was detained after another theft and burglary from a vehicle.

"He was released from jail pending trial," reported The Courier.

On Facebook, police asked the public for more information, writing, "The Cedar Rapids Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in the ongoing investigation into several burglaries that occurred in southwest Cedar Rapids between 4:00 a.m.

and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 29th.

Investigators are asking anyone in the geographic area generally east of U.S.

Interstate 380 to the Cedar River and between 16th Avenue SW and 33rd Avenue SW to review any surveillance photographs or video that they may have in their possession.".

One man responded on the police comment thread, alleging that he had "video evidence of him taking multiple things off my porch I showed the police and they did nothing about it perhaps would have saved this womans life.

" He further alleged, without naming the man, "He came back three different times that night walking like he owned the place around my property even went to my vehicle first.

" Police said the man could contact them.

Frederiksen Was Engaged & Plastered her Facebook Page With Photos of Her Three Kids.

According to her Facebook page, Gina Frederiksen studied at Kirkwood Community College and went to Cedar Falls High School.

She lived in Cedar Rapids and was from Cedar Falls.

She was engaged, according to her Facebook profile.

On Facebook, she shared photos of her three children and fiancee.

When one friend wrote that she spotted a ring in an October 2017 photo, Frederiksen wrote, "Yes, I've had the ring for 3 years!! But still NO WEDDING plans!".

Her obituary reads, "Gina Catherine (Pixler) Frederiksen, 38, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 29, in Cedar Rapids as a result of a homicide.

She worked as an administrative assistant for a local financial company.

Gina Was Remembered as 'Sweet' & 'Kind'.

Loved ones remembered Frederiksen on the funeral home's condolence page for her obituary.

"Gina was our first Grandchild and have a lot of memories of her coming to stay with us, she was sweet and kind, Loved her lots and will miss her," her grandmother wrote.

A woman who knew Gina growing up wrote, "My first memories were when Gina would 4 and 5 years old.

Sometimes when at grandma Jeans she attended my class in Sunday School! She was a sweatheart! Very shy, thus, very quite, but she was so cutie!".

A high school friend offered memories also, writing, "Gina and I were great friends in high school but have not stayed in contact as much since I moved to California.

One great memory was visiting my father in California, sunbathing, and eating a lobster she named 'Squiggy.' We went through a lot of rites of passage together during those years.

I remember Gina's humor and heart.

Even as a young adult I knew her family (parents, sisters, children, etc) meant the world to her.

She will be terribly missed.".

Another woman wrote about Gina's love for her children: "Gina was a curious, smart, pretty girl.

She was beautiful inside and out and loved her children more than anything.".

Frederiksen Recently Advertised a Garage Sale on Social Media.

Authorities were looking into whether social media posts that Frederiksen made advertising a recent garage sale could have drawn the suspect to her home, according to The Gazette.

She had posted about the sale on Facebook.

The suspect has a previous criminal history for drugs and burglary and is being held on $2 million bail.
