Waching daily Nov 27 2018

Hey my little artists! Today I'm showing you a cruelty-free, cheaper dupe, for the

MAC Paint Pots. Since going cruelty free, I have looked everywhere for dupe, a

cruelty free dupe, for the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots. I primarily use the

one in Painterly and in, what's it called? Soft Ochre. These ones right here, because

I use them as eyeshadow bases and they cancel out all the colors and I use

Painterly for more cool toned skin tones and Soft Ochre for more yellow

based skin tones; and they're just perfect, they make the eyeshadow pop, they

make it last all day, so I've been using these for a really long time and I've

always wanted to find a cruelty-free dupe and I think I finally did it! And

I'm talking about the NABLA Cosmetics Crème Shadow Longwear cream eye color. I

got two colors, I got Underpainting and I got Morning Glory. Underpainting is

more the Soft Ochre dupe and Morning Glory is more the Painterly dupe. These

actually have the same amount of product. You wouldn't think it, if you looked at it,

but they both have 5 grams or 0.17 fluid ounces. The Mac Paint Pot, I have to

check my notes, it costs 23 Euros 50 or in the States it costs 22 US dollars.

Whereas this little guy right here, costs 11 Euros 50 or I...they don't have the

prices in US dollars on the website, because this is an Italian brand. It is

produced in Italy and it is sold in Italy, but I do think it ships

internationally. Anyways, so 11 Euros 50 is about 13 Dollars in

the US. So US dollars. You know what I mean! I'm just gonna show you the inside

here. They pretty...I mean this one is pretty old, so it's kind of dried up

already. This one is a lot creamier still and they look very, very similar though

and the same with the other two. Look at that, so similar in the pot already. So

what I'm gonna do, I'm going to show you some arm swatches and then I'm

also going to show you what they look like on the eyes. So one side Paint Pot,

one side NABLA cosmetics. So here we have the arm swatches. This is NABLA

Cosmetics and this is the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. This is NABLA Cosmetics

and this is the Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. It looks like, that those two

NABLA cosmetics ones, are just a tiny bit darker than the Mac Paint Pots, but

they're really very, very good dupes. They're pretty much the same consistency

also. The NABLA cosmetics seems a little softer and a little more thick in

consistency, but my Paint Pots have been opened for a while, so maybe that's why

there is the difference. Let's move on to eye swatches. The way I usually like to

apply these, is use a synthetic fluffy brush first and then I tap them in with

my finger. I'm gonna start with the NABLA cosmetics Underpainting, which

is the Soft Ochre dupe and I'm just gonna spread this all over my lid. Now I

have to say, the NABLA cosmetics are a little thicker from the consistency, so

it's a little more difficult to spread it and it dries down a little more

powdery and quick. You have to work quickly with these, otherwise you will

not be happy. But see how well that covers everything?

Now the Mac Paint Pot.

As you can see, it's pretty much exactly the same color, which is amazing. This one...

this Paint Pot drags a little more than it usually would, because it's quite

dried out. I need to put some Duraline or something in there. Generally speaking, it

is a little smoother from the application. You'll see with the with Painterly,

because that one is a new one. Well not new, but newer. There we go, that's the

two colors. I can't really tell a difference. I think they're very, very

similar and yeah, except the differences I told you in consistency, it's pretty

much a perfect dupe. This is NABLA cosmetics in Morning Glory.

Applying very well, even though it drags a little bit and you have to work quickly,

because it dries quickly. It does look very good, especially as an eyeshadow

primer and when you have these on they will not budge; and Mac Paint Pot in

Painterly.

Do you see a difference in color? Let me know in the comments down below. By the

way, these NABLA cosmetics shadows are not only cruelty-free, they're also vegan.

So that is great! I am so happy, I can't even explain. Let me zoom you out. There,

that's better. That's not as scary, is it? And now you can see the shadows from far

away as well. They have...this one, the Painterly is a little more tacky

than the NABLA cosmetics, but I think they're so similar. I think this is an

amazing dupe. I love that it's cheaper as well. I hope the shipping to the United

States doesn't cost as much, so you will be able to get these as well. I can only

recommend them; and yeah, that's today's video! That was a very quick video, but I

felt it was important to share this information with you! So if you liked it,

What do you need to know about wildfire smoke and your health? - Duration: 4:24.

Wildfires, like the ones currently ravenging California can choke the air of the surrounding

communities with smoke.

People living in those communities can end up breathing this smoky air for days or even

months until the fire is brought under control.

To describe how bad the air is government agencies commonly use a scale called the Air

Quality Index, or AQI, to describe the air quality in a given area--the higher the number

the more polluted the air is.

Recently, in San Francisco the AQI reached 271 which is roughly ten times the air pollution

the city has on an average day.

It's been estimated that breathing this air for a day has the equivalent health risks

of smoking 10 cigarettes.

So, what are the health risks to inhaling wildfire smoke and how can you decrease your

risks?

Wildfire smoke is full of gases and tiny particles from burning vegetation and building materials

that can irritate your eyes, nasal passages, throat, and lungs.

They can also trigger an immune response leading to inflammation.

All of this can lead to coughing, difficulty breathing, a fast heartbeat, chest pain, and

it can even trigger an asthma attack.

Young children are one of the groups with the highest risk for difficulties with exposure

to smoky air —because their respiratory tracts are still developing and they breathe

more air per pound of body weight than adults.

Other high-risk groups include the elderly, and people with heart and lung diseases—like

asthma.

So how can you decrease your risks for breathing in smoky air?

First: Pay attention to the news and listen for public warnings and recommendations about

smoke.

Second: limit your exposure.

If it is smoky outdoors it's better to stay indoors with the windows and doors closed.

In addition, if you're using an air conditioner, make sure that it's recirculating air and

not drawing air in from the outside.

Third: Avoid strenuous outdoor activity.

This is one of the few times where it's advised to skip that workout as heavy breathing

causes you to bring in more of that smoky air into your lungs.

Fourth: Purchase an air purifier.

Air purifiers filter particulate matter out of the air.

Most of them are designed to clean the air in only one room, though, so it's best to

use them where people spend the most time.

For example, you may keep it in living room during the day and move it the bedroom at

night.

Fifth: Use a respirator.

Breathing through bandanas and surgical masks offers very little protection against smoky

air.

Instead look for respirators that are labeled with ratings like N95, R99 or P100.

These numbers refer to the approximate amount of particulate matter that they filter from

the air, so N95 and P100 remove close to 95% and 100% of the particles in the air respectively.

The letters refer the ability of the masks to handle oil-based aerosols, so all letters

should work similarly for smoke.

Now to work properly, the mask needs to be sealed against your face, so facial hair can

be a problem.

Masks also don't often fit small children well, who may also not be willing to keep

a mask on their face for long.

In that case it's better to keep children indoors as much as possible.

Also, using a respirator may tempt you to spend more time outdoors which increases your

exposure and that defeats the purpose of using the mask in the first place.

Depending on their use the masks can last for quite awhile, but it is recommended that

they are replaced whenever they are damaged, soiled, or they cause a noticeable increase

in breathing resistance.

As a final note, even new masks increase breathing resistance, so they should be used cautiously

with people with existing heart and lung problems.

All right, as a quick recap … Smoke pollution can lead to throat, eye, nasal, and lungs

irritation and lead to difficulties breathing.

To decrease your risk to smoky air, pay attention to the news for warnings, limit your exposure,

avoid strenuous outdoor activity, invest in an air purifier, and use a respirator.
