Waching daily Nov 27 2018

Whose family is enjoying this nice sunny day outdoors?

We have to warm up first. Come here.

- Dad. / - It's the trio.

It is.

- Are they for kids? / - I like the hula hoop.

I'm good at the hula hoop.

Show me. Let me see how good you are.

Begin.

One, two, three.

What was that?

- Go, Sian. / - You try too, Dad.

Begin.

- What was that? / - Hey.

- Look at him move. / - Three, four,

five, six, seven, eight. Aren't I good?

How come you're good but Sian isn't?

He doesn't take after me much.

(Looking sad)

Stand right here, Sian.

Run into the hoop when it rolls back, okay?

- That's difficult. / - I know.

- Run in. / - He's being cautious.

(Running in)

(Tripping)

It hit his ear.

I think it bumped into his head.

Did you get hit? But you did very well.

- What a good boy. / - You don't cry, right?

You don't cry now, right? Good job.

Let's go.

(They're off.)

(She taunts them from the front.)

(I'm in first place.)

You're annoyed, right?

They're definitely older.

They're taking the lead.

(Sian and Donggook travel side by side.)

Do you like cycling with me?

Yes.

(Donggook rides up to Seola and Sua.)

- Hurry up, Sian. / - What?

Hurry up. Why are you so slow?

Sian?

You can't disappear from my sight.

Sian, you slowpoke.

(Getting angry)

I think he's going to show us something here.

I'm a lot faster now, right?

(But he keeps lagging further behind.)

Wait for me, Dad.

Why are you leaving me behind?

Hello.

(He always has good manners.)

He even says hello.

That bridge reminds me of something.

Hey, Sian. I actually

found you under the bridge.

- He still makes pranks. / - Who?

- You. / - How come?

You were actually found right here.

You were crying alone under the bridge.

Your mom and I found you, and took you home.

But I'm yours and mommy's daughter.

Sure you are.

But you didn't come out of your mom's tummy.

We found you underneath this bridge.

- That's not true. / - I'm serious.

We found Sian, but you had us.

- Of course. Only Sian was picked up. / - Oh, my.

- Hey, Sian. / - Yes?

If someone asks where your hometown is,

say, "Under a bridge."

That's not true. Are you lying again?

He gets teased too often, so he's not falling for it.

Kids, let's rest here. Sian is tired.

(What a relief.)

Dad, I want to raise a dog.

But we already have five puppies at home.

We're your puppies, but we don't have any.

- But... / - Think of him as your puppy and raise him.

He's a puppy. See?

See?

See? He's a puppy.

Dad says you're a puppy.

- Try it, Sua. / - He's cute.

- He's so obedient. / - He's cute.

- He's really the youngest. / - You're right.

Have you seen such a cute puppy before?

He's so cute.

Let's go.

We've made our round. Now let's head back.

Let's a make a bet over who wins.

The winner will definitely be me.

Hey, Seola!

- Games like this really spur competition. / - Yes.

Sian is way in the back. He'll be the last one.

He still can't keep up.

I know.

Hello.

Oh, it's you, Sian.

(Where did they all go?)

(It's the bridge they saw earlier.)

It's the bridge.

Dad! Where did you go without me?

Excuse me.

A moment, please.

- What is it? / - Have you seen my dad?

- Your dad? / - Yes.

I haven't seen him.

He told me that he found me under the bridge.

Did he pick you up from under a bridge?

(I guess he was joking around.)

But he really disappeared.

Look for him over there.

He might be further down the trail.

Please let me know if you find him.

Okay. I'll tell him to come here.

- Okay. / - Bye.

Bye.

Dad, where did you go?

He was in disbelief earlier.

But he's taking it seriously now.

He's getting swayed by his dad's words.

(Sitting)

I think I've been to this place before.

- He says he's been here. / - He says he's been here.

Oh, no.

(Is this really my hometown?)

(His head is being filled with many thoughts.)

Goodness.

Is he going to write "Dad" in the sand?

(Donggook has been watching.)

What is he doing? We were in a race.

Son.

(What?)

Dad!

My son.

Your parents aren't your real parents.

Dad isn't my real dad?

He's not your real dad.

He's a lousy father.

Aren't you lying?

Your house is under this bridge.

You have to live with me here.

It's you, Dad.

You have two dads.

You have two dads.

(I caught you, Dad.)

- It's you, Dad. / - Gosh.

Where is your dad?

(Donggook is getting chased in circles.)

It's you, Dad!

- He got caught. / - Of course.

I found you.

Of course it's me,

your one and only dad.

Did you believe you were found under the bridge?

A little bit.

It's not true. It was a joke.

I don't fall for your pranks very much now.

We'll keep the pranks to a minimum.

(Let's make a promise.)

The Return of Superman, episode 252.

"One Step at a Time Into the World".

("One Step at a Time Into the World")

Hey, Sua.

You can eat all you want today.

You pick up what you want to eat.

Sua, this will be a heavenly place for you.

Are we at Mount Paektu?

No, that's Heaven Lake.

I said "heavenly".

The trio has arrived at a buffet

full of wonderful food.

Will they binge properly at this plentiful buffet?

(It's a food paradise.)

Seola begins by scanning the selections before eating.

What dish will she choose first?

One steak for me, please.

As expected. She chose steak first.

She's smart.

(That was startling!)

(Nice golden brown and delicious-looking)

(Your steak is served.)

Enjoy.

The line is always the longest there.

(I almost spilled it all.)

It's pizza.

(The second choice)

Kids love pizza.

King crab.

Things that can't be eaten at home.

(Meanwhile, what is Sian up to?)

What will Sian choose?

(This looks good.)

- Sushi. / - Egg sushi.

(One more egg sushi)

Another one.

He's wearing yellow today too.

(I want one thing and one thing only.)

He's stocking up on the egg sushi.

He only wants one thing.

(Heaped up)

I got food.

You're first to arrive, Sian. What is that?

I brought what I like.

- That's it? / - Yes.

One for each of us.

One, two, three. These are for you, Dad.

Is this all you're going to get?

It's very good.

You only brought those out of the many things here?

There's no point coming here, then.

I can just make it for you at home.

Is it good?

- I brought a lot. / - Look at your sisters.

She filled her plate with expensive food.

Money isn't wasted.

These are the things you can't eat at home.

I want to eat now.

Go ahead.

(She begins with the appetizer.)

Pineapple makes you pretty and skinny.

(It's nice and fresh.)

I think Sua is bringing the entire buffet here.

My goodness. She's coming.

Be careful.

(Eyes widening)

(Her father is impressed!)

Is it your birthday today, Sua?

(What did she bring?)

How did you pile all that on top?

(It's a tremendous amount of food.)

Oh, my.

She brought back a mountain.

How to enjoy a buffet fully.

First, you create a base with bread.

And level it with pizza.

- Meat, please. / - Okay.

(The cook lays it down very carefully.)

- It's very systematic. / - She's so smart.

(She keeps piling food on top.)

(The buffet food tower is complete.)

(This is a piece of cake.)

(She gets ready to dig in.)

She even rolls up her sleeves.

She's stuffing her mouth.

(She slides a piece of sushi right in.)

(She enjoys all the meat varieties at once.)

- How interesting. / - I know.

(She rinses her mouth with the fruit.)

(How sour.)

(The food tower was piled up like a mountain.)

(It's disappearing in no time.)

(She's definitely a food fighter.)

(Lesson on how to enjoy a buffet properly)

This doesn't stuff your stomach.

You begin with food like this.

Like this.

Do you just eat it raw?

Yes. You're right. You know that word?

See all the empty dishes? The food ran out.

They're going to fill them with new batches.

You can eat them hot and fresh if you wait.

Just wait for a little.

- That's a great lesson. / - Look over here.

- Buffet Eating 101. / - You take this

and eat it when it's hot.

It's a know-how.

Like this.

(Dad sure knows everything.)

You already ate it all?

(Scraped clean)

- Amazing. / - I want to eat more.

You can get more. Go ahead.

Get a new plate.

Hey, Sian. I'll try it first.

Okay.

(He takes a bite too.)

(Take a bite, Seola.)

It's like imitation crab meat.

(It's good.)

It's tasty.

- It's another round. / - "Another round".

Is it another round?

Hey, Sua. It's money well spent with you here.

You eat so well.

(Sua eats very well.)

I want shaved ice.

Shaved ice?

Go get some, girls.

(I can't miss out.)

Bring it over.

- It's time for dessert. / - Right.

- Why can't I reach? / - It's too high.

I just need to reach a bit higher.

Help me, Sian.

I can't reach the lever.

- How can he help? / - How will he help?

- I'll hold you. / - I see.

(Heave-ho!)

There you go.

It worked.

(I can't reach again.)

- I can't reach it. / - I'll lift you up.

You can't lift me.

Shall I bend over? Take off your shoes.

Sian, come over here.

He's grown so much since then.

(He had to help Sua before.)

Hang in there, Sian.

Come down. There you go.

You did a good job. That's your role.

He probably remembers.

(Step on me, Sua.)

I can go up.

(Shaking)

Oh, no. My goodness.

- Are you okay? / - I'm good.

Are you okay?

I'll lift you instead.

They're trying again since it doesn't work.

Did you get it?

I'm so proud of them for handling it

- on their own. / - Right.

(They manage to scoop out some ice.)

They got it.

I helped you, right?

Thanks, Sian.

I helped you with this.

(Now she needs to top it off.)

(Shaved ice is complete.)

Sua, I think

you eat the same amount as a normal adult.

- One adult. / - Right?

(That's an unexpected praise.)

What do you want to do first when you become an adult?

I want to drive.

Do you want to drive?

(Where do you want to drive to?)

Where do you want to drive to?

- Buffet? / - The beach.

The beach?

Do you want to drive to the beach alone?

(There's a lot to eat at the beach.)

How about you, Seola?

What do you want to do when you become an adult?

(Well, I want to...)

(Walking over)

She's whispering.

I want to get married.

- What did she say? / - What?

- Donggook is shocked. / - It has to be shocking.

The first thing you want to do is get married?

Really?

Who do you want to marry?

I guess she has someone in mind.

- Some man. / - Some man?

- How about me? / - You'll be a grandpa by then.

- She's so realistic. / - Okay.

Make sure to invite me to your wedding.

(Of course, Dad!)

- Dad. / - Yes?

I emptied my stomach.

(He begins to dance as he feels comfortable.)

When a bear feels itchy, this is how it dances.

(Bobbing)

- Is that a bear dance? / - Yes.

It does this when its back itches.

- When a bear feels itchy? / - Yes.

(Sian is so cute.)

Drum Teacher Reacts to Dave Lombardo - Drummer of Slayer - Duration: 10:00.

hello and welcome back to another episode of my drum teacher react series

today I'm gonna be reacting to and analyzing a live drum cam video of

Slayers former drummer Dave Lombardo playing the song disciple before we

start off I want to talk about two things number one big thank you goes out

to Dave you can find the full version of this video without my talking in

between on Dave's YouTube channel which I'm going to link below in the

description the second thing I want to talk about if you want a certain drummer

to be next on this YouTube channel and if you want me to analyze a certain drum

video on this YouTube channel make sure to comment below and please don't forget

to also at the YouTube URL of the video you want otherwise I'm not gonna find it

alright that's it for this short introduction let's start right away

actually I have to stop right away playing in such a stadium is every drummers

dream out there almost every drummers dream out there but the bad thing is

that 99.9999% of us will never get the chance to play in a stadium like that

after this long tom fill let's talk about his Tom set up for a bit the first

four Tom's are angled in an extreme way the two floor toms Tom five and six are angled

pretty flat also the cymbals are pretty flat but Tom's one to four are

angled in an extreme way the one thing that can happen if you set up your toms like

that is that you break a lot of drum heads that way but one thing that Dave

Lombardo does his grip is something between French grip and

American grip like that and if you play toms that are angled that way

you're gonna hit them like that so this way you're not gonna destroy a lot of

drum heads but if you use a German grip so on the back of your hand is facing up

and you hit an angled tom like that you're gonna break a lot of drum heads so

with French grip it's kind of okay because Dave Lombardo is also

using a wrist turning motion a lot of wrist involvement but you're hitting the

tom like that and not like that all right let's continue

no bass drum triggers of course

what you could see right here is that he started a short bass drum pattern with

his left foot and he contracted his calf muscle so he raised his heel off the

floor the weight of his upper leg and the lower leg was resting on the pedal

but the bass drum beater didn't touch the bass drum head the reason for this is

he's using a medium low to medium spring tension but his bass drum beater is placed

in a 90 degree beater angle so even when he raises his heel so he's contracting

his calf muscles the weight of his upper and lower leg is resting on the pedal

but still he's a bass drum beater is not touching the bass drum head so that's

actually his starting position looks something like this he contracts his

calf muscles the bass drum beater stops right before the bass drum head

and then he starts to play double bass

all right let's continue

nice double bass lots of power alright again let's talk a bit about his foot

technique so he's using a 90 degree beater angle there are also a lot of videos on

YouTube where he explains his foot technique so make sure to check them out

as well so here's what I took away from those videos he's using a 90 degree

beater angle low to medium spring tension he's sitting extremely low so his hip

joints are always placed lower than his knee joints so if you're sitting that

low it becomes extremely difficult to actively work with your hip flexors like

that this up and down motion so and what he is doing is he's mostly using his

calf muscles when he's playing double bass he's getting a big big beater swing

so a lot of power of course he's not using bass drum triggers as well so he

needs a lot of power and he definitely is able to play all that stuff with a

lot of power and volume one last thing if you want to sit that low always take

care that you don't arch your back because this would cause problems in

your lower back as you can see in this video right now he's always sitting up

straight like that so he has great posture though his sitting so low so if

you want to sit so low pay close attention that you don't arch your back

like that sit up straight like Dave does it in this example

all right that's like every drummers dream to play in a stadium like that

in this example you could see his hand technique really well so he's using an

American grip so in between French and German grip something like that he's

using a lot of wrist motion almost no fingers involved at all

you could see the hand position again when he played the tom fill

Gary Holt on the right

since he's playing double bass again right now let's talk a little bit more

about his foot technique one thing you could see is that every time he

before he starts to play double bass he contracts his hip flexors like that so

he raises his upper legs so he has more space free space to move his ankles

again everything is generated from the calf muscles almost no hip flexor

involvement at all he doesn't need it because he got way enough power with his

calf muscles and what he does with his hip flexors is he's raising his

upper legs and that's a constant and it's a constant contraction yeah it's

not an up-and-down motion from the hip flexors like that the strokes are

generated by his calf muscles but it's a constant contraction to raise his upper

legs so this is what it looks like before he starts to play double bass

he's raising his heels hip flexors are raising his upper legs and then he

starts to play double bass all right let's continue

there you can see it with the left bass drum beater 90-degree beater angle

one more thing his snare drum is placed really low as well so actually if he

would be using a German grip his upper legs would be in the way if he wants to

hit the snare drum like that but since he's using American grip he's

more like in here and so his upper legs don't get in the way of him playing at

the snare drum

yeah great video big thank you to Dave Lombardo for sharing this video again

you can find the full video on his youtube channel which I'm gonna link

below I'm a big fan of Dave Lombardo here's one of my fanboy pictures I met

him in 2013 I think when I played with belphegor he's an awesome dude great

drummer he totally destroyed everyone that day every drummer that day so yeah he's

the man all right that's it for this video don't forget to

comment below if you want a certain video to be next on his youtube channel

and please don't forget to post the YouTube URL makes it way easier for me

alright that's it for today have a great day cheers from Vienna bye

Design & Build a TINY House! (Learn It All) - Duration: 2:52.

My name is Kenton Zerbin and I teach courses on sustainable living and tiny homes.

Tiny Homes are a fantastic option for housing for a wide diversity of situations – affordable

living, light footprint living, sustainable living, plus one suites… you name it.

What do you want out of your life and how can a tiny house help you achieve that?

What is your motivation for going tiny?

Ahh, the sustainability aspect of it.

To work less and live more.

A sustainable sort of lifestyle that is big on minimalism.

They are pretty darn cute!

Hahaha!

This 2.5 day course trains people how to design and build a tiny house.

We go over lots of different things like legalities, and utilities, and how to design a house for the

and how to design a house for the cold climate.

But at the end of this course people are grounded in the nuts and bolts of how to build and

live in one of these houses so it is a reflection of them, their priorities, and is well suited

for their climate.

How are you enjoying the course so far?

Oh, I love the course.

It's awesome!

First of all, Kenton is amazing.

And so knowledgeable.

I have learned so much already and I'm getting to meet people that have the same passions

and interests that I do.

I love it!

Its so much funnnnn!

Hahaha!

It's been really good – its awesome!

The people are fun, Kenton is amazing.

He is very knowledgeable with teaching his stuff and stuff that he's learned and stuff

that he's trialed and errored and saved from a lot of mistakes.

Take the course!

He's amazing, he's funny, he's engaging, and he knows so much.

There is a lot to know.

There is a lot to "dos and donts"… me and my wife did design and build our own tiny

house and have been living it for a year and half.

And as a teacher of sustainable living, I can help other people speed track their dreams

to living [in] and owning a tiny house.

How would you describe your teacher for others who are considering taking this course?

Aww, Kenton's awesome.

He's got very straightforward concepts, doesn't mind if you ask questions.

It seems like he's just talking to you in a class of 20 people.

Yeah, he's definitely very passionate and energetic.

Lots of experience as a teacher which really helps.

Amazing.

He is really helpful with questions and going in depth into things that are important and

letting you know things that are not important.

And step by step processes and things you wouldn't even think about.

Let's Learn English Around the House and Home | English Video with Subtitles - Duration: 10:12.

Hi!

Bob the Canadian here!

Let's learn English around the house.

Come on in!

Hi, Bob the Canadian here.

Welcome to this video.

If this is your first time here don't forget to click the subscribe button below, and give

me a thumbs up at some point during this video if it's helping you learn English.

Well today we're going to learn some English words and phrases that you can use to describe

a house.

I just came in through the front door.

Houses generally have a front door and a back door.

I'll show you that one a bit later.

And I'm standing in the front entrance or the entranceway of the house.

It's a little warm so I'm going to take off my coat and you'll notice behind me

there is a coat hanger.

So I'm going to hang my coat here and I'm going to do what we traditionally do in Canada,

and that is that I'm going to take off my shoes.

Before we go any further though, I want to thank Barb the Canadian for letting me use

her house today to make this video, to help you learn English.

The front entranceway also usually has a closet where you can hang coats and other items.

So especially in the winter when you come into a home you might want to hang your coat

in the closet if there's not enough room on the coat hangers.

So you'll notice behind me here the kitchen.

The kitchen is one of my favourite rooms in the house.

I really like food so I really like kitchens.

You'll notice behind me here that a kitchen has a certain number of items.

We have the refrigerator or the fridge, where you can keep food cold.

This fridge has a freezer on the bottom.

We also have the stove and generally we call this part the oven, where you would bake things,

and over here we have the stove where you would cook things.

If you look behind me here you'll see we have a sink, so when you're all done making

your food and eating your food you can do the dishes, you can wash the dishes in the

sink.

And if you look over here on the counter you'll notice that we have three things that you

find quite often in a kitchen.

We have a coffee maker.

We have a kettle for boiling water, and we have a pitcher of water if you just want to

drink some water.

Up here you'll notice that we have cupboards, so cupboards, notice it's not pronounced

the way it looks.

In a cupboard you'll find things like plates and bowls that you can use for eating.

Those are pretty loud!

And if we look over here, we'll have what we in Canada call a utensil drawer.

So this is drawer where you would keep spoons, forks, and knives.

You'll also see this area here is what we would call the counter or the countertop.

You can use both words interchangeably.

So you might use the countertop or the counter to prepare food.

And you'll notice hiding over here in the corner we have a microwave, just a small appliance

that lets you heat up food really really quickly.

So that's the kitchen.

One of my favourite rooms.

Let's move on to the living room.

So we're in the living now.

The living room is the room in the home where you will usually find chairs and sofas or

what we also call couches.

It's the room where, when you just want to relax, this is the room that you would

generally sit in.

Maybe you want to read a book, maybe you want to watch tv or if we look over here you'll

see that this living room also has a tv, a television, where you could sit just to have

a quiet relaxing evening where you are going to entertain yourself by reading a book, maybe

sitting and talking with friends, or watching some television.

So that's the living room.

Let's look at the dining room next.

So another, another part of the house that I really like is the dining room.

So this is a room with a table specifically for eating meals.

So you would have breakfast, lunch, and supper at this table in the dining room.

You can tell that Christmas is coming soon, I'll do a video soon about Christmas.

I think next week I'm going to a parade and I'll show you whole bunch of stuff about

Christmas, but this is the dining room.

We have a dining room table and we have chairs to sit at as we would eat our meals.

So we're in the bathroom now, and there's really three main parts to a bathroom.

We have a sink where you could wash your hands so you could turn on the water and wash your

hands.

We also have, if I turn just a little bit, behind me here we have a shower.

So you could jump in here to have a shower maybe at the end of a long day of work, and

then we also have, I'm not gonna describe what this is for, but we also have a toilet.

I think everyone in the world knows what this is for and how to use it, so I'm not gonna

spend any time describing it.

But you have a toilet.

This is the toilet seat.

You have toilet paper and this is where you would go if you felt the call of nature.

That's the nice way of putting it.

So we're in the upstairs of the house now, you'll notice that we're in a bedroom.

So there's a good reason why it's called a bedroom.

It's because, there's a bed!

So in a bedroom you're going to have a bed.

You're also going to have things that in English we call dressers.

So if you look over here there is a dresser and a dresser is a place where using these

drawers, this is where you would store all of your clothes.

So in a bedroom you generally have a bed, which is right here, and you have a dresser

where you can store stuff.

There's also in this bedroom what we would call night tables.

So there's a table on each side of the bed with a small lamp.

This is a place where you could keep a book if you read at night before you go to bed.

You would keep it on your night stand, or night table.

So this is a bedroom.

I'm not sure how easy this is to see, but I'm standing in a hallway.

So a hallway is the part of the home that connects all of the rooms together.

This room is empty.

In English we would call this a spare room.

Sometimes a spare room has an extra bed in it.

This room is just empty so we would call this a spare room.

I just came down these stairs and I'm now in the basement of this house.

A basement is the part of the house that is below ground, and many times in a home the

basement is used to store things.

It also usually has a furnace.

This is what heats the home with gas or oil in the winter.

And a hot water heater.

This is what makes hot water for the house as well.

And usually those types of things are found in a basement.

So we're here in the basement, it's the part that's below ground.

I'll just show you a window over here for a sec so that you get a sense of where we

are.

So here's the basement window, it's a little hard to see, but if you look outside

you'll notice the we are at ground level, or below ground level in the basement here.

So a lot of Canadian homes will also have a garage.

A garage is a place where you can keep your car, and a garage has a garage door which

you just saw open behind me.

As well a garage sometimes has a garage door opener.

This is a device that's on the ceiling of the garage, and I'll just show you for a

sec, this is a device that's on the ceiling of a garage that opens the door automatically

when you click the button in your car.

So that's a garage door opener.

It's a little cold to be out here with no coat on but I just wanted to show you earlier

I mentioned the back door.

This is the back door of the house.

When you have a back door a lot of times you'll have a barbecue outside and then also down

here there's just kind of a patio area.

So there's an area where you can come out to cook some food in the summer months when

it's warmer.

You can come out your backdoor.

You can go down your steps, and you can use your barbecue to cook some food.

So this is a small patio area outside the back door.
