So today we have a new mop to try out It is the spin mop by Green Direct
I've taken it out of the box already so here's the box that it came in
So let's see what it comes with there is obviously the bucket it's got 2 nice wheels on it and
extra long extendable handle 2 floor mop heads
and one for windows and then...let's see what do they call that?
scrub cleaning brush So it's actually more than a mop
it is a cleaning system so I'm going to ask my daughter here to put the mop handle together
it should be fairly simple we have kids and dog and cats in this house and I'm always
in search of a good mop The mop is said to work on a variety of surfaces
such as hardwood, ceramic tile, wood, concrete and there is a lot of hardwood and tile here
so let me go get some water and then you can get some cleaning fluid
that is a great feature I've never seen on of these that has the cleaning fluid bottle
ok so we've got water in the bucket and we're going to start with just plain water and we
put cleaning fluid in the dispenser Put the mop in the water and what did you
just do there?
undid the lock ok you undo the lock on the handle and then press up and down a few times
now I like the fact that with a spin mop that you can get the mop pretty dry
cause that is actually a problem with a lot of mops
is they are just so wet which can be dangerous and you relock the handle to the desired length
afterwards The extendable handle is a great feature
That is a problem with some mops for tall people
Lillian is almost 6 feet tall and are you having any problems with it?
Nope, it's pretty long you have room t spare there
I want to try this you can stay
the bucket, the mop head put to the side unlock it it's kind of fun
I want to get it nice and dry, well damp I should say - well not soaking wet
lock the handle and adjust with your foot I like the fact that it an get up into the
corners with this
I've been using various mops i use a swiffer a Swiffer Wet Jet and I use one of those sponge
mops that you pull the handle back - that doesn't ever get dry enough
leaves the floor too wet so this is very very easy to use
ok so Lillian is to try moving this with the handle
nice big wheels how is that?

Yes That is a nice feature because buckets with
water get very very heavy I like not having to get my hands wet
So maybe I should get you one of these to take to your dorm room next year - yeah, that
would be nice So you think you'd actually mop in college?
Well, if it is this easy I might Or maybe you could get your roommate to do
it Here's what I like
This swivel handle get all the way under here in hard to reach places
I mentioned that I've been using a swiffer and a sponge mop and this mop head seems to
cover a larger area Ok so now isn't that enough?
I'm having fun It feels like such a nice sturdy handle well
just as a comparison of how lame the mop that I've been using is

here's one of the mops that I've been using I actually have quite a collection now
and look at the difference in the handle this green direct mop is much easier to grip
and a more comfortable handle and the length - this isn't even extended
all the way look at the difference in the length of the handle and then the size of
the mop head and as I mentioned before it's hard to get it dry enough
It's even got a hook so that you can hang it up
so we have not added any cleaning fluid yet Do you want to put a squirt of cleaning fluid
in there?
I think it is designed so that you don't even had to lift it like that you can just push
down on the handle try that and see yeah and then also I suppose you could lift
it out and squirt it directly on the floor if you have a solution that is diluted and
you come to an area with a lot of dirt or stain
so, again, that is a really nice feature not having to carry around a cleaning bottle and
on most of the floors especially since I have to mop so often I prefer to use either water
or highly diluted solution so that's a handy thing to have just fill
the bucket with plain water and then dilute some cleaning product and put it in the squirt
bottle and use if only where necessary we started off with clean water and all that
came up from the floor so let's empty it
looks pretty easy to roll it has sturdy wheels - it's got the lift handle

I did not know that you could do that!
I thought you had to tip if over Wow, that is a great feature!
Did you figure that out?
Ok, so show that again there is a lever and you pull the lever and
it drains so you don't even have to tip if over which
would involve heavy lifting and possibly getting splashed
that is a great feature I had a spin mop a different brand some time
ago and it did not have that feature
it did not have the draining feature, it wasn't as sturdy it didn't have the extra long pole
and it didn't have the cleaning fluid bottle so this is definitely an upscale, upgraded
spin mop Who knew?
