One of the biggest reasons people don't do videos or content for their business
is because they don't feel they have the time. Hey there, I'm Tracey Rose from
TraceyRose.com and in today's video I'm going to share with you an exercise I did with
one of my teammates and we came up with a whole year's worth of content in just
20 minutes. I know that sounds insane, like 20 minutes, what!?!? And she is set for
the year because originally she came to me and she said Tracey I'm feeling really
overwhelmed and I was like okay let's figure out what you want to do what you
want to put out there and she said to me well I want to do at least one video
blog or video per week for my audience so that's 52 videos to come up with for
the whole year I said alright let's get to work and here's what we did first of
all I came up with a list of the holidays. We came up with all the holidays that
are relevant for her audience she's in Australia and is mainly and has mainly
an Australian audience so we have Australia Day, Valentine's Day, Easter,
Anzac Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day, Halloween, Christmas, New
Year and she wanted to do a birthday post and we talked about her health
journey is basically from this list she could do a post or a video that was
themed around those holidays but then the major holidays or ones that she
thought were more interesting to her audience or she could create more
content around like say Christmas we said well let's do four Christmas themed
posts so whether she was going to do Christmas cooking and using some of her
products or coping emotionally around the holidays because a lot of the stuff
that she likes to talk about is also mums and coping and stress and anxiety
and and all that sort of emotional stuff so she could talk about you know the top
five essential oils to keep emotions in check so check around the holiday period
so in this list you can see it we've kind of numbered okay you can have one
post on that one post on that two posts on that one
that totaled and then she's got a health journey so I said to her write three
posts on this throughout the year you know share your journey how are you
going what's working what doesn't yada-yada .. and over that holiday period she
could come up with 20 video topics very very easily that were themed to
that so there we go we got we need to do 52 and she's already got 20 now the next
thing I asked her was do you have any posts or content from this last year
that we've used that perhaps didn't really reach a big audience and she said
oh yeah I've got 20 oil recipes that I've made up and I've created little
Facebook you know image posts to go with them but I could do a video on those and
I was like sweet there's another 20 video posts already prepared so now so
far we have the holiday posts which we've now come up with so we've spent a
bit of time doing those okay coming up with okay what do you want to do for
Australia Day and she goes oh I could do a post on Australian essential oils
which is like tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil so so we went through
those and then we did she got like I said she's got those existing recipes so
that's 20 so we're up to 40 already so in about 10-15 minutes we've already
come up with 40 video post ideas and now we pretty much have 12 to go and this is
where my handy little cheat sheet comes into play this is called the 103 video
and blog post ideas and this is downloadable for free on my website over
at TraceyRose.com and basically with this you won't ever run out of ideas to
talk about in your videos and posts again now i've laminated mine so I can
have it near my desk and never ever run out of things to talk about so I said
alright let's go through the list and come up with 12 more now I asked her
are there any tools or technology that you would like to showcase and I know
that she has some beautiful diffusers in her home that she uses with
her essential oils and I said well not everyone knows what diffusers are or how
to work them or why you would need one as opposed to maybe an oil burner so why
don't you do a video on reviewing one of those
and sharing how to use it or she could do a post on the different types of
diffusers on the market another suggestion on the list is to go to
events so if you are in a company or you're even if you're running your own
company go to your industry events take notes and then go create a video about
what you've learned at those events I also suggested to her that she interview
some other home business mums so even though her blog is about like lots of
DIY stuff and essential oils and natural living and being a mom and all that sort
of stuff mums are always interested in learning
about how other mums are working from home and making that happen around their
around their children and juggling that you know that that balance of lifestyle
versus work so you know interviewing successful work at home moms would be
really interesting to her market she could do a post about doing things on a
budget she could do a post debunking some of the most common held beliefs
about certain products that maybe she sells she could do a beginner's guide to
using essential oils with babies so that's a beginner's guide that's the
idea behind it so you can beginnings guide to using essential oils with
horses beginner's guide to using essential oils for emotions and
everybody loves a hacks video if you've got a cool hack that makes someone's
life easier in some sense then do a video on that so in the end we came up
with 52 blog post ideas in about 20 minutes now you could take a bit longer
but spend as long as you want to but the idea of doing it in this fashion is like to
batch your ideas so you have a massive list of ideas that throughout the year
you can go alright it's time to do you know a video for the next couple of
weeks and again I batch even recording my video is recording my videos that I
batch and at the videos that I like I kind of usually get a couple ready at a
time so I'm very much into batching and leveraging my time and and utilizing my
time more efficiently in fact that's the video idea in itself teaching people how
to batch their home business work so I hope this video has helped you get
organized for the year ahead and if you're watching this video on another
time and it's not the start of the year that's cool do it from now like I used
to do this just 90 days in advance, so every quarter I would get the next 90
days organized if you found this video helpful and you know someone who could
really utilize this in their business by coming up with video ideas or post ideas
in all in one go and please share this video and then go to TraceyRose.com my
website on the front there you'll see that downloadable cheat sheet for free
which is called 103 video and blog post ideas and I'll see you in the next video
