Best rep range to build muscle - How heavy should you train? - Duration: 4:32.

The question was: What is best, to lift as heavy as you can

or least?

This is dr.Fox from the Fox's Power Basement. Please, like and subscribe.

We are asked all the typical questions about working out over and over again.

What exercises should I perform?

How often do I have to workout?

What workout split should I use?

In the end, only a few things matter most if you want to build muscle and strength.

Nr.1 is consistency and patience.

Building a strong and esthetic physique takes a lot

of work and time. There is no way around that.

Nr.2 is focusing on the compound movements,

that you should perform first in each workout, followed by some lighter isolation work.

And nr.3 is progressive overload, both in intensity as in volume.

This means over time

you have to lift heavier weights, and do more volume. There is no point in coming back to

the gym each week to do exactly the same workouts.

You should track your lifts and progress,

and try to do more each week.

Now to answer the specific question "How heavy should you train?"

The answer is: as heavy as you can, with good form, in a certain rep range.

So what is the best rep range?

Studies show that you can make muscle gains

training in any rep range as long as you're progressing. But results are not equal in

all situations. The medium rep ranges win out in the end.

Here is why.

High rep ranges (more than 15-20 reps) with

low loads are not optimal for growth because they don't provide enough tension to recruit

all muscle fibers.

Low rep ranges (less than 5 reps) with heavy

loads is only effective if you do enough volume.

Optimal growth doesn't come down to high

tension on the muscle fibers, it also requires muscle damage and metabolic fatigue.

That means you need a certain amount of time under tension to create muscle damage and

a certain amount of reps to fatigue the muscle fibers.

You need to do enough volume too.

Doing lots of volume with heavy loads will make you feel very exhausted and the risk

of injury is much higher.

The medium rep range (5 to 12 reps) is ideal,

because you use a heavy enough load to recruit all muscle fibers, you get enough time under

tension to produce muscle damage, and you do enough reps to fatigue the muscle.

It is the easiest way to accumulate volume with a heavy enough weight.

So start your workouts in this medium rep range and try to progress in that range, meaning

as soon as you can do 12 reps with a certain load, try to lift heavier next workout.

This is why tracking your progress is essential.

Remember the best ways to track your overall progress are: your bodyweight on the scale,

your leanness or body composition in the mirror, and your gym performance. If you can perform

the same number repetitions (in the 5-12 rep range) with a heavier weight and strict technique

or you can perform more repetitions in that range with the same weight and strict technique,

sure as hell you are getting stronger and bigger muscles!

I hope this clears things up for you. Give it a try in your next workouts!

Bangkok Bikesploring/ Exploring the best of Bangkok by bike - Duration: 19:00.

Food smells, markets, Buddhist temples, giant shopping malls everywhere!

Where are we? We are in Bangkok!

and we want to show you some of the main tourist highlights, of course

but also, we want to show you the unbeaten path, the hidden streets, how locals live

with this two little weels

Sawadika! Welcome to Thailand!

A good area to try biking in Bangkok is in its historical center

you can see that they recently just installed some new biking lanes and parcours

and they connect most of the important temples in the center

the Dusit area

is european-style area with big avenues and is the political center of Thailand

While taking the bike route in the Dusit area

we came to Wat Benchamabophit which is better known as the, and easier as the

marble temple because all its structure is standing on marble that was

directly brought from Italy

we are just going to leave the bikes here

for visiting a little bit the temple

you can really see the massive marble structure

We are now heading north of the historical and Dusit area towards

the Chatuchak district in order to visit one of my favorite markets in Bangkok

we just arrived to Chatuchak weekend market

and at the name says it is just happening every weekend

it is the biggest market in Thailand for sure and one of the biggest in all South East Asia

and we are going to go with this little ones!

We are walking in Siam, one of the most famous neighborhoods of Bangkok

and this is really the heart for shopping

you have just huge shopping malls and big restaurants, food courts, everywhere!

one of them just behind me is Central World, you have another one called Zen

you name it!

and here we are now enjoying a refreshing drink on a very nice view

on top of the Zen World Department Store

we are going to enjoy also some food here

and the nice views!

We are now at Wat Pho temple, one of the most important temples in Bangkok

and we are here to see the famous reclining Buddha

it is one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok

so we saw the splendid 46 meter long reclining Buddha

apart of that Buddha

here is where the biggest Buddha collection in Thailand is hosted

and it's also the birthplace of the Thai traditional massage

it is still teached here and still practice here

and it is also the first educational center

public center in Thailand and now we are going to continue our route with our

little bikes which are parked just right here, perfect parking!

It can certainly be intimidating to bike in Bangkok at first, so much traffic,

noise and pollution but discovering Bangkok by bike is perfectly possible

and so nice to do! You just need to be a bit smart around it

there are already many areas that have biking lanes like the Dusit area, the riverbank

but you can go pretty much all around Bangkok by bike

you don't need to go in the middle of the big busy roads

you can just avoid those by going around them through

the many little streets which are full of life, passing many markets and temples

and when not possible, you can always take for a bit the pavement.

Just do it slowly and very carefully in order to be respectful to the pedestrians

Behind us is Wat Arun or temple of Dawn

it is one of the most spectacular sights in Bangkok

especially at sunset

We are here in the Tuk Tuk experiencing the real Bangkok

with our Bromptons just packed in a box because we needed

to find some boxes for the plane

but we thought it was not possible to bring them in the Tuk Tuk but they made it possible

and we are crossing one of the many markets full of fruit

you will see a really big fruit on the way

pineapples, you have mangos, plenty of mangos,

and a very very green fruit which is dragon fruit, which is delicious!

We are here at Patpong night market

where we are really going to test our bargaining skills!

We are on our way to Bang Krachao island which is south of Bangkok in Phra Pradaeng district

and it covers 16 square kilometers

yes you heard it! An island!

for going there we need to take a boat and cross to the other side of the river.

They call it the green lung of Bangkok, not only because of its lung shape

when seen from above but you will now see why!

Bang Krachao is a smog-free government protected urban green oasis

it is a great escape from the fast pace of the city and it is a perfect area for biking

you can still see from here the skyline of Bangkok; as it is so close to the city

it is such a contrast with the concrete jungle of the city!

It feels like you are in an entire different world!

We continued our road to Lumphini park which is right in the middle of Bangkok

and it's one of the nicest parks and biggest parks in Bangkok

and we are just going to bike a little bit around

people here come to do some running, yoga, aerobics

and Tai Chi

oh! and they have some open air fitness also!

We are here at Pier 21

one of the many food courts in Bangkok

this one is in the Sukhumvit area which the most cosmopolitan area of Bangkok

and the food is fantastic

you have a lot of selection of all kind of Asiatic food

and fresh juices

and the best the Thai coconut, the mini Thai coconut which is just delicious

and everything... we had two dishes each, 4 coconuts, a coffee

for like 9 dollars

Here we are at the Grand Palace in Bangkok

which is a big complex so it doesn't only contains the Royal Palace itself

and the Royal Halls but it contains also many government buildings as well as

the well-known temple of the Emerald Buddha

and I'm standing at the Upper Terrace right now

and just behind me is the Emerald Buddha temple

which is the most sacred temple in Thailand

We are now biking around Chinatown which is an area full of markets and street vendors

so here we are Food Loft which is supposed to be another food court experience

these are different stands actually of famous restaurants in Bangkok

of some of the best restaurants in Bangkok

We are here at Central World, we couldn't find the food supermarket

so they just picked us up and they are driving us there with our bikes

how cool is this?!

Thank you for watching!

If you liked my video and want to follow me in my next adventures

please don't forget to subscribe, share it and give it a thumbs up!

Thank you very much again and until very soon!

7 Simple Ways to Naturally Reverse Cavities and Heal Tooth Decay! You Need To See This! - Duration: 5:29.

1.

Change your eating habits.

Changing your eating habits and switching to a healthy diet always helps boost your

health, no matter what your goal is.

A study published in The British Medical Journal suggested that a change in diet can actually

reverse tooth decay.

We already know that the consumption of products rich in sugar leads to teeth decay and that

phytic acid can block the absorption of calcium.

However, if you change your eating habits, you may never face such problems.

2.

Chew sugarless gum.

It might sound ironic, but chewing sugarless gum can actually help you prevent tooth decay.

Most sugarless gums contain a component called xylitol, which is a natural sweetener.

Unlike food, xylitol does not lead to the growth of bacteria in your mouth.

Plus, when you chew, your mouth fills with saliva that can naturally wash off food remains.

3.

Clean and change your toothbrush regularly.

Whats the most important tool that we use to clean our teeth?

Right!

A toothbrush.

However, few people know how important it is to Change your toothbrush regularly because

its bristles deteriorate with time and usage.

As a result, you dont clean your teeth as well as with a new toothbrush.

4.

Follow a basic dental care routine.

It might sound like overfamiliar advice, but it really works.

According to the International Dental Health Association, almost 42% of adults use just

a toothbrush for their oral care.

Sometimes we dont realize that our dental care isnt right or requires changes.

If you want to protect your teeth from early decay, include the following steps in your

dental care routine in the morning and before going to bed.

Brush your teeth for 2 minutes at least twice a day.

Try to brush all the surfaces of your teeth, reaching out to the farthest corners.

Floss your teeth.

Sometimes even brushing doesnt work as well as flossing.

Use floss to pull out any remaining food from underneath your gums, and try to get to the

germs that are stuck there.

Use mouthwash.

Any mouthwash has an antibacterial effect and helps you get rid of any remaining bacteria

in your mouth.

Dont rinse your mouth with water the effect will last longer.

5.

Visit your dentist for regular cleanings.

We know that regular visits to the dentist are not the most pleasant procedure, but its

always better to prevent a problem than to treat it.

No matter how well you brush or floss your teeth, there will always be areas that are

hard to reach.

A dentist will clean near the gum line on the back and front of your teeth to remove

any plaque and tartar.

Regular cleaning is a very important step in the fight against cavities.

Many people say that they enjoy cleanings and the lovely smooth feel of their teeth

afterward.

Make sure that you book an appointment at least once or twice a year.

6.

Add supplements and vitamins to your diet.

Weve already discussed eliminating sweets and candies from your diet, but theres

one more thing you can do to help your saliva fight dental plaque.

Vitamins are essential for establishing the good health of your teeth.

7.

Try coconut oil pulling.

Do you want to know another good way to use coconut oil?

You can try coconut pulling to naturally protect your teeth from decay.

The oil pulls bacteria out of your teeth and naturally heals them.

Simply swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes until your saliva

and the oil turn a milky white color.

Dont swallow it.

Its so simple yet so effective!

Oil pulling does not reverse the effects of tooth decay, but it helps prevent cavities.

By the way, it works twice as effectively alongside brushing and flossing.

Do you follow any of the rules listed above?

Or do you prefer professional dental treatment?

Do you know any other tricks that might help prevent teeth decay?

Share your ideas and experience in the comments.
