Google Home and Siri Integration - Using Siri Shortcuts to Drive Google Assistant Actions - Duration: 9:23.Jam time!
Stop. All right now what you just saw is I use Siri on my iPhone and you could
use an iPad to trigger Google Assistant automation now that means I can utilize
any of these Google Home or Google Home or a Google Assistant related automation
and of course I can go ahead get the news the weather whatever I want to do
with my Google Assistant so let me show you how to do that in your home or even
on the road just with your iPhone now the first thing to do and I already set
this up so I'm going to have to just run it on the screen here on my phone but
you know you basically the first time you go into the Google Assistant
application when it's been updated to the appropriate version on your iPhone
you will see the function of clicking add to Siri and once you add it to Siri
once you go through that little process you have the ability now within
shortcuts which is an iOS 12 and greater basically functionality here that allows
you to trigger automation once you've added the Google Assistant to Siri
there's a couple things I want you to check so I'm going to go into my iPhone
settings here and I'm going to scroll down to the actual assistant application
within the settings here now you can see I'm allowing location to be used and all
these other things but Syrian search is where I want you to go into here so once
inside of there you see this Siri and suggestions there and there's also the
shortcuts showing up because I've already set up one here or I've already
set up actually a number of these now once you've used Google Assistant what
starts to happen is these recent shortcuts start to show up and this
means that they show up as suggestions when you're going to set up a new
shortcut I'll show you what that means in a second here but you want to make
sure that that Siri and suggestions is checked on or turned on here and that's
just the easiest way to go through creating shortcuts with your Google
Assistant now once you've done that we can go into the Google
Assistent application so you're going to need that you're going to need it signed
into the same account that you're using for all of your home automation if you
want to use this at home so you make sure your google Home app is signed into
the same as your Google Assistant app when you do this now the other thing
you're going to do is actually use the Google Assistants' so you you give it
whatever command you'd like to teach so what I did is I said basically play
music on my basement office display that's what this device is called in the
Google Home application so once I said that it showed up as a shortcut in the
in the Siri And Suggestions there and also in that settings page that I just
showed you alright so what I'm going to do next is actually teach Syria command
through the Google Assistant now I'm going to start a YouTube video that you
should be pretty familiar with here on my basement living room display this is
a Google Home Hub so I'm just going to tap the microphone here play automate
your life on YouTube on basement living room okay so there you go I started and
I stopped now what I've done is I've created a series a gesture to go ahead
and use so let me show you how to use that next so now switching over to
shortcuts here now shortcuts is the application if you don't already have it
you can download it on the App Store but it should be on any iOS device twelve
point oh and greater basically now you can see my jam time shortcut that I
created earlier in the video you saw that run actually just random music here
that's the command I had set up but we're going to create a brand new
shortcut so top right I'm hitting the plus here and now that I'm in here I go
to the search bar and I can go to Siri suggestions and you can see all the
different google Assistant ones that I've recently done so I want to play
automate your life on YouTube on base living room display so that's the one I
want to use and you can see I have an untitled shortcut and if I hit that
little play button it will run this shortcut and right away start that on my
basement living room my google Home Hub now there's a couple of things to do to
move forward here and make sure that Siri works seamlessly for you because
you don't want to be saying that every time and that's one of the nice features
here of shortcuts so the first thing I'm going to do is hit the little switches
here and I can rename it up at the top so I'm going to call this one myself now
I can change the icon of course if you wanted to go and pick something else you
could I don't really care for now but add to Siri is the important piece here
so we're going to tap that and now it wants me to record a sound or a
soundbite basically that basically makes this shortcut trigger in iOS now it
allows you to say anything you'd like here you could set anything really but
keep in mind if you're using some of those basic commands that Siri is going
to use all the time like show me the weather you know Siri might interpret
that as actually show me the weather which is embedded inside of Syria these
days so you have to think a little bit outside of the box and so I'm going to
use something a little bit different here show me so now I could rerecord
that phrase if I didn't like how that turned out but I'm going to hit done and
now it's added to Siri and any times I anytime I say show me to Siri now it's
going to run that little basically script essentially now and it's going to
bring in the Google Assistant and run that so let's go ahead now and do a demo
so now that I've gone ahead and I've created that phrase obviously if I
wanted I could do a number of other things here I'm not gonna run through
adding it to the home screen so you can trigger that with a button that's
obviously something that you can do though you can share the shortcut so you
could send this to your family if they couldn't figure out how to do this
but in general we're done here and we can go ahead and run this with Siri or
we can do it inside the shortcuts application so you can see now I have
this this applet here this shortcut down at the bottom of the shortcuts
application so if I just tap on that it will run it and bring it up but that's
not the point here I want to show you how to use Siri to do this so now let's
go ahead and I'm just going to hold the button here start Siri up and then we're
going to go ahead and use the Google Assistant through Siri show me now if
you're watching the screen you can actually see it rolling through the
different portions of the Google Assistant and you can see that command
went in that full command and now we're playing the video on YouTube here on all
through Siri all through iOS shortcuts so stop so there you go I think that's a
pretty good demo now obviously you can take this a lot further you have devices
that are connected to home kit you have devices that are you know connected to
Google Home that aren't connected to home kit and now if you want through a
shortcut you can use a home kit device trigger a scene and then you can use
Google Assistant so you can actually tie together now home kit and your
Google Home and I'll be showing that as we go forward here on automate your life
obviously I'm not going to show you everything today but I think this gives
you a good basis for moving forward with your Google Assistant if you're on the
road you can use that as well and your Google Home suite of products in your
home along with your iPhone and it basically this functionality catches
those of us with an iPhone up to those people with an Android device who have
Google Assistant embedded this allows you to catch up with just a little bit
of extra setup alright guys there you go now you
tell me what you think about this new functionality from Google using Apple
system of shortcuts there that's all I'm going to show you today thanks for
watching and we'll see you next time

Don't Let Fears Stop You! - s1e236 - Duration: 13:25.Alright, welcome to another episode. Another episode in the episodes. I have
lost track of the numbers since… It's two hundred and thirty something I think. I've
lost track… I'm going out I'm working on a video I alluded to this video some
time ago and I said I had an idea for a video I wasn't really sure so it kind of
goes along with with the hashtag be the all human struggle hashtag and it is a
it is about facing your fears this is a theme you may have noticed that I've I
have employed this theme multiple times throughout the life of season one that
if you don't try something if you don't do something then it won't happen and
I'm reprising that yet again because I still see people people around me in my
daily life who want to do something but they let their fears hold them back
they let fear of failure or a fear of rejection or fear that it's going to be
too hard or fear that it's not gonna pay they let fear hold them back
and so I started I started on this video about a week ago
just trying trying to put together a rebuttal to that idea that that fear is
something that you have to you know let it control you
so the the rebuttal and I guess I'll go ahead and say it is going to be a music
video I'm doing another music video I'm gonna try to it's not gonna be a spoken
word this is another I'm calling it the the EDM the EDM urge so that's what I
want to do it and that's why I'm in the car today I'm gonna go out and shoot
some clips for bat video
so I'm trying different ways of using the DSLR while driving in the Acura I
never really found a way to do that in the Tahoe that seemed convenient and I
finally visually gave up and just went to using the iPhone all the time when I
was in the car with the Acura though I don't know I just I feel like it's worth
exploring to see if I can improve my my car time video and audio quality a
little bit so I've been I've been happy enough with the windshield time from
from the Tahoe the problem in the acura is there's just not a good place to
mount the the phone I found a place I kind of liked but then I kind of didn't
like it there so I'm gonna you know yeah try to constantly improve incremental
improvement Bryan flashes a dove I'm sorry I always say the names wrong I've
pronounced my own name wrong Bryan had a video recently about incremental
improvement incrementally getting better with each successive attempt at
something and that is kind of kind of the story of my life I guess is trying
to incrementally get better
today I dropped I dropped the video the the tutorial video on the Photoshop
plug-in portrait Pro and I kind of looked around that that seems like an
area of YouTube that is not overly represented with videos there's a lot of
cool features in the portrait Pro and so I'm gonna do some more tutorials I'm
probably going to try to make that more of a regular thing maybe once a week or
so to to try to fill that gap that appears the the portrait Pro plugin is
pretty amazing and there doesn't seem to be a lot of tutorials on that so I'm
gonna see if I can get in on that I also dropped the reddit the subreddit group
the the guy and then made a subreddit for me and then we sort of had a little
negotiation that if if the subreddit got a certain number of subscribers I would
make a video private link it there so I did so there's a you can go to down in
my description there's a link to the subreddit of videos it's not it's not
blocked from anybody else it's just that it's publicized there and it's kind of
goofy then they wanted a lot of a lot of things and I tried to deliver so if
you're interested in seeing something pretty goofy you can slip on over to
there and check that out
so I've come to Kankakee Marsh to do some some video clips for videos talking
about as I was driving to the Kankakee Marsh I'm gonna whip out my Osmo mobile
here hopefully it's charged up and I'm just
some I'm just gonna be roll with the phone so I I really really like the
effect of the using the gimbal but I have to say there's just not a good way
of putting it down when I was doing the the B the BB video I was trying to put
it down there's there's there's not a there's not a screw mount in the bottom
the screw mounts on the side this you have to have a very particular tripod
thing with a 90 degree neck on it and there's just not a they've made some
improvements and it is very the results are really nice but getting to that
place where you can get those results number of steps that must be followed
also I gave up I haven't tried lately I gave up on their their their video app
I'm using filmic Pro and filmic Pro will talk to this guy I think I'm guy the
blinking you're about to lose your battery indicator
maybe I don't care about audio for this one cuz I'm just doing some video device
hardware Osmo mobile I'll turn it off turn it on and it pairs and now the the
handles and the so I'm gonna go shoot this stuff anyway a little quick
behind-the-scenes I don't know if that interests very many people but there it
was and I'll sit in your doing I thought I'd go ahead and video this all right
I'm gonna shoot some of that I'll talk to you in a second wrap this guy up wrap
up this this episode so bring this conversation back
to the idea of not letting your fears stand in the way of what you're doing
my second son Nathan called yesterday and we were talking and we got talking
about about the the channel and there was that the theme of bravely going
forward was part of that conversation and he made an observation that and I
really appreciate because his his insight into these kinds of things is
very very valuable so he said he said the diversity in my channel was really a
reflection of who I am as a person and he started he started going through all
the different things I've done in my life being a teacher and a coach in the
past and then working in mental health and then working in technology as a web
designer and the photography and music and all the things that I have I have
touched over the years he said the playlists are a great way of putting
that content there for people and and he encouraged me to not be shy about that
he encouraged me not to to feel like that was a mistake he pointed to another
youtuber that he subscribes to does games and and things like that and then
reviews and playtime and he said the the way the guy uses playlists it lets all
of his 2.7 million 3.7 million subscribers know when to know when to
check in and he was tagging things in the titles so that Nathan knew whether
or not he wanted to go watch that video or whether that was going to be one of
his things that Nathan wasn't interested in you know he reviews this particular
game that Nathan doesn't play Nathan doesn't necessarily want to go there he
said that I should keep doing what I've been doing and that I should continue to
be true to who I am and not let my fear and not let my the fear that I'm not
doing when everyone else does he said don't worry about that
he said just keep doing it keep labeling your videos so that if someone wants to
watch a photography tutorial then in a snap life episode appears in their
subscription they they won't go but if they're not interested interested in
photography and a photography video does show up then they won't go I think I
said two negatives if you want to watch the photography video then when them
yeah he encouraged me not to let my fears hold me back and I really
appreciated that I really appreciated that
he reiterated again he said that you have a way of taking really complicated
and interrelated ideas and then just break them down to something simple and
a nice little soundbite he called attention to the must plus one video I
did last week he said you you've taught me that you know years and years ago and
because I've adopted that in my own adult life that I always do that one
more thing just to kind of stay ahead of the game he said but I've never I never
thought of those words and he complimented he said you know my way of
breaking things down like that so I appreciate those those remarks that's it
for this video it's kind of a channel update and in a testimonial about not
myself not letting my fears stand in my way of doing what you know needs to be
done not letting my fears hold me back my fear of not being like everybody else
my fear of not being good enough he's you know Nathan's encouragement was keep
making videos keep labeling the videos keep put him in the playlist if you want
to make another spoken word video by the way he did he had another very
intelligent young man have said that I've got to do more so we'll see we'll
see we'll see what comes with that but the next video that comes out the
one I'm working on today the reason that came to Kankakee Marsh the reason that I
came here there's a sign that is not gonna be spoken more but it is it is
going to be a music video the wind is kind of a kind of brisk I got some more
b-roll I need to shoot for that other video thank you for watching this one
thank you for subscribing to the channel leave me a comment a question a thought
all those sorts of things that is all I have for this one I will see you in the
next one thanks for watching that the diversity in my channel was really a
reflection of Who I am as a person wind is about to blow this over

Shrink Your World with Tilt Shift Photos and Videos! - Duration: 3:25.-------------------------------------------
May these stirring words inspire you - Duration: 6:43.I enjoy doing these videos every week, and I enjoy hearing from the people who watch
them.
After one of my recent videos, I got a note from a woman named Anne and she said, let
me read it here, "I love seeing your Einstein on bike poster in the background.
Ours is a head shot of Churchill.
'Never Give up, Never, Never, Never.'"
She even sent me a picture of her Winston Churchill poster, which she keeps in a spot
where she or her husband can see it any time they go in our out of their kitchen.
And I'm so glad she sent me that, because I've actually been thinking for a while now
that I should do a Winston Churchill video, and Anne has given me the perfect excuse to
do it.
You may wonder what Winston Churchill has to do with cognitive impairment and brain
health, and Anne has the answer for that.
She calls him the "patron saint" for people MCI.
And I tend to think of him that way, too.
Hi, I'm Tony Dearing of GoCogno.com, the website for people with mild cognitive impairment.
We all have things in our life that touch us, and that we draw inspiration from.
And for me, my Einstein on a bike poster is one of those things.
I've had that poster since it hung in my college dorm room.
For Anne and her husband, the Winston Churchill poster is a more recent acquisition.
She told me she bought the poster back in March.
It was a daunting, frightening time for her and her husband, who has cognitive impairment.
They were in the throes of dealing with that.
They were getting him on the Bredesen protocol, and she was learning about the keto diet,
and she was getting him all the supplements that were recommended for him, and getting
into exercise, and brain training and meditation.
They were going to fight this thing, and Anne says that it reminded her of was the dire
situation in 1940, when England was facing an imminent threat of invasion from Nazi forces.
And she finds her inspiration where the Britans found theirs, and that's in the words of Winston
Churchill.
Who has not heard and been stirred by his speeches like this famous one: "We shall fight
on the beaches.
We shall fight on the landing grounds.
We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets.
We shall fight in the hills.
We shall never surrender."
This idea of associating Winston Churchill with MCI first came to mind when I was interviewing
Dr. Richard Isaacson, who is doing some pretty amazing work with people with MCI in New York.
He's the first one who introduced me to the idea of going after cognitive impairment with
everything you've got.
He told me: "Whether it's to reduce someone's risk or to treat them in the most optimal
way, it's like a war.
You need the Air Force, the Marines, the special forces.
Everyone is looking for the blockbuster drug, but we also need dietary changes and exercise
and changes in lifestyle.
We need to hit this disease from every single angle."
I remember thinking, man, he kind of sounds like Winston Churchill.
And you need to understand, this is a relatively new approach.
The traditional way of treating MCI has been very passive way.
The doctor would just say something like, "There's not much we can do for you.
Come back and see me in a year and we'll see what happens."
Unfortunately, some doctors still say that.
But there is so much we know about MCI these days.
There's a lot doctors can do.
There's a lot you can do for yourself.
So, yes, there's something to fight for, but it's not easy.
It's hard, and people like Anne remind me of that every single day.
She truly understands the reality of what she and her husband are facing, but every
time she walks in or out of her kitchen, she sees the Winston Churchill poster and she
takes inspiration from it.
She told me: "When you are going through something like this, it's for the long haul, you have
to be reminded every day that it's not going to be steady progress."
She went on to say: "What impresses me so much about Winston Churchill is that from
the time he took office, there was nothing but disaster and casualties day after day.
When you think of the tenacity of the man, this is something he lived and did every day
for years.
I see that Winston Churchill poster and I say, you know what, every day you begin again
and you have to have that tenacity."
I thought that message was worth sharing, and that's why I offer it to you today.
I thank Anne for sharing it with me.
The people who are living with this, and dealing with it every day, and fighting that fight,
what they are doing is truly heroic.
And there's another group of heroes, too.
I spend a lot of time with doctors and scientists and researchers hers who are working to treat
people with MCI and working toward a cure.
They're getting closer to answers.
You and they are on my mind today, as I leave you with this parting thought from — who
else?
— Winston Churchill: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to
continue that counts."
I'll see you again next week.
Until then, as always, be kind to your mind.

How To Listen To Your Inner Voice - Duration: 9:33.Do you want to make great decisions in your life? I do. Want to make choices that
will move your life forward? Learn to listen to your inner voice. How is it we
can do some amazing and sometimes unexplainable things like heal our own
bodies by the power of our thought mother's intuition the law of attraction
can we really tap into our subconscious mind can we really create our own
realities it begs the question are we novice gods I thank you so much for
joining me on this youtube series are we novice gods
it's been amazing we've been looking at all the evidences that show we have
divine DNA within us we are creators at heart and I would like to create and I'm
sure you were in the same boat would like to create amazing things in our
lives to where our lives are better than they are right now so the key to do in
that that we're gonna look at today is about listening to your inner voice now
think about this inner voice and you know what I'm talking about you've felt
it before you've heard it you've possibly listened to it and maybe you
haven't heated it and you recognize that there's that inner voice and then
there's what we call the inner chatter this is all this negativity that says
you can't do that you can't do that and just works to put you down you know what
I'm talking about here right I mean this happens to you all tell me I'm not alone
in this okay well anyway the negative energy at ur is not your inner voice and
we have other episodes that talk about how to silence or get rid of the
negative energy a turn it's not so much getting rid of it as in channeling it
and moving that energy away from you so that you are more in control of the
voices that you listen to and so we're talking about that inner voice that
voice that whispers to you that you were meant for something greater that your
life is but you have a purpose that you have a mission that you have a calling
that you have a gift and there are things in your life that will push you
towards that and your interval we'll help you with that but you have to
recognize it and you have to have confidence that that is the right voice
to listen to so I want to give just a few pointers okay first of all you know
and we talked about knowing which is your which is the chatter which is your
inner voice I want to explain that just a little bit more one easy way to know
if it's the negative chatter or if it is your true inner voice talking to you is
to to kind of feel how you feel about what it's telling you to do or to not do
and your negative energy at ur will constrict you it will help you or will
encourage you to live small to be a smaller version of yourself and that if
you follow this often it is giving in to fear and it is giving in to anxiety and
doubts and worries and these you know lack of self-confidence and just making
you shrink and feeling smaller so you know when you hear those voices that
tell you not to do something and a lot of times it's telling you to be smaller
because you're not smart enough you're not good enough you're not pretty enough
you're not skinny enough you're not athletic enough whatever those voices
are those are not your inner voice giving you guidance in what will enlarge
you so you felt those feelings before now think about the times when you felt
an impression a thought come into you that says you should do this and it it
may cause fear but you know that in pursuing that it will give you a greater
self confidence self awareness you will grow you kind of feel that if I did that
I would grow okay I'm gonna tell it a story that is not very okay anyway it's
a personal story years ago I was working on a on an app I ended up creating it's
called feature happy but before actually getting it created I was working with a
multimedia company figuring out how to do this
and the creative director was looking at my app and was all excited about it and
says this has great potential because look at this Kickstarter campaign that
just funded by like three thousand percent and it was just a simple planner
it's a written planner and yours is so much more cool what you need to do Scott
is you need to do a Kickstarter campaign and all you have to do is stand in front
of the camera and tell your story okay as he told me that there was something
inside that says yes Scott you need to do this and you know what I did I got
sick he had a leather couch there I remember I had to sit down I thought I
was gonna throw up because of the thought of standing on camera sharing my
story was so terrifying to me that there was no way I could possibly do that and
I thought I was gonna pass out okay now fast forward here I am talking
sharing my innermost secrets with you as we take this journey on are we novice
gods and you know looking at all the evidences that show we are capable of
war I'm really glad that eventually I listened to that inner voice although
right at the beginning I didn't listen to it I ran away from it so think in
your life when have you heard that voice one of you had those feelings calling to
you that says you are bound for greatness there is something within you
you have a gift to share to the world and it has called to you and beckon to
you to follow maybe you didn't follow right away but you can still follow now
your purpose is still your purpose your gift is still your gift the world needs
you and what you can contribute to it so anyway I want you to remember those
times when you felt those impressions recognized that it was making you feel
if I did that I would grow I would be bigger I would be more confident I would
be more comfortable I would expand its those expansive feelings rather than the
constricting feelings that lets you know if this is your true inner voice or if
it's that negative energy at ur does that make sense okay now the next thing
is you need to condition yourself to continue to hear it the way you do that
is you follow it because if you don't listen to your inner voice if you keep
pushing it away it's gonna go away it's gonna be much harder to hear because
it's not gonna be whispering to you because obviously you're not paying
attention and anyway I could share stories with you of my wife giving me
directions on where to go cuz if I don't pay attention she's not going to tell me
anymore but if you will condition your mind and
if you will make make it it make a commitment to yourself that when you
feel those impressions you will move forward now the third and final step
that I want to share with you on listening to your inner voice is about
when you feel it I want you to write it down and then I
want you to make progress towards that okay now the key here is that if you
will make daily or consistent progress on things that you feel are important to
you are meaningful to you you will find that you are fulfilling your calling
your mission your purpose in life you are making progress there if you want
help with this I have a free planner in the show notes you can grab it's called

'SNL': Female Cast Members Sing 'All I Want For Christmas Is' The Mueller Report - News Today - Duration: 3:31.The hilarious ladies of 'SNL' closed out the latest episode of 'SNL' by singing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You,' and by you, they mean Robert Mueller! At the very end of this week's episode of SNL, all of the female cast members came on stage to sing "All I Want For Christmas Is You"… with one minor alteration: all they want for Christmas is the Robert Mueller report
Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon began the sketch singing, "This need to be done by Christmas, I need a freaking ounce of cheer
" The show-stopping song's hilarious lyrics continue , "I don't need a full impeachment, I just need a little fun
Please don't tell us we aren't crazy. At least indite his oldest son." And after Kate sang, "You better prove that Trump colluded," Aidy Bryant added, "Or that he kidnapped Jon Benet
" The whole musical number ends with Cecily Strong going on a rant pleading for the report to finally come out so she can finally stop taking anxiety medication
Watch the night's stand-out sketch below! On the last episode of SNL, the variety show feted one of the all-time greats of the Supreme Court: the ever-notorious RBG
In the song "Live For Ginsberg", Pete Davidson and Chris Redd rap, "Broken ribs can't stop her, she eat that sh*t for lunch!" Throughout the hilarious faux music video, RBG disses fellow Supreme Court Justices, punches some frozen meat, and even break-dances
Needless to say, Kate McKinnon brought down the house as the justice. Of course, this wasn't the only sketch McKinnon stood out in this season
She hilariously brought back her alien abductee character, who was having some wild paranormal experiences with a raunchy ghost
Her description of her encounter with Toby, a ghoul that looked like "if Danny DeVito got flattened by a train", is so worth it
All I'm asking and hoping for. Thanks @nbcsnl #snl for giving me my holiday anthem #AllIWantForChristmas #Mueller pic
