Hey what's up this is Drew, owner of Connoisseur Concentrates. I'm here today
with my Chief Lab Technician; Professor Matsumoto (What's up) and my Media Director; Audrey
(Hey). Today we're gonna be doing a breakdown of the Tangie Berry terpene
profile. The Tangie Berry is a strain that I've picked up at the Cookie Store in
downtown Los Angeles. I loved it and wanted to make a terpene profile of it.
The lineage is that it is a California orange mixed with a skunk hybrid and I
think it's great, so I wanted to make the terpene profile
so everybody could enjoy it. One of the first things you'll notice about the
strain is it is an orange color and that is because I used citrus terpenes in the
blend. Citrus terpenes are not always clear
like other terpenes some of them have a color this one happens to be orange. But
it does fall under the organic line of terpenes meaning that everything in it
is pure terpenes; there's no synthetics, no artificial flavoring ingredients in
them. One of the first things you're going to do when you purchase the strain
is open it up and smell it so I'm gonna go ahead and walk you through what that
smells like.
So the only thing that I can smell coming out of this bottle is tangerine.
And the reason that is is because even though there are a bunch of different
things in it, that's what evaporates the most out at room temperature.
One of the biggest rookie mistakes you can do is purchase your terpenes based
on what the bottle smells like and I'm gonna let Audrey explain why that is. Right so what Drew touched
base on a little bit; the most important thing when you are purchasing your terpenes is to note
that the pen almost never tastes exactly like what the bottle smells like. (That's true.) Yeah, so
when you're buying your terpenes you have to know this because at the end of
the day your client is gonna be tasting the pen, not smelling your bottle. This is
why our product is better. We have formulated these terpenes and these
strains for the end-user and the end taste, not smelling the bottle at the counter.
Yeah don't be a rookie don't make that mistake you always have to try your
terpenes before you buy your terpenes. Cam, can you give us a breakdown as to
what they actually taste like in a pen? Oh, for sure I just made a Tangie Berry pen so
I'm gonna tell you guys exactly what it tastes like.
So I'm getting a creamy cannabis profile in there,
mixed in with sweet berry notes and some tangerine citrus as well. And I will
categorize Tangie Berry as a medium cannabis flavor, meaning that there's
gonna be an awesome balance between the cannabis flavor and those other notes
with them. Sounds about right. Yeah, the Tangie Berry like you said is a
blend between the tangerine, the berry, and a medium cannabis profile so you're
gonna get the best of both worlds on this. So one of the other ways that we
categorize our terpene profiles is based on whether it is a blended strain, or a
separated strain. A blended strain means you're going to taste the same blend of
flavors all the way through the inhale and the exhale, and a separator strain
means that you're going to taste, first the tangerine, then the citrus, then the
pine, then the earth, something different on the exhale. So where does this one
fall? I would designate the Tangie Berry as a slight blended terpene profile,
meaning that you're gonna be able to taste different blends and the flavors
at different points within the inhale and exhale.
Excellent, excellent, one of the other ways we differentiate these terpenes is
whether they are enhancing agents or masking agents and Audrey can explain
that for you. Right so every terpene profile varies on how strong the actual
flavor is. Tangie Berry is categorized in our medium to mild strength profiles. We
designed this profile to be an enhancing agent rather than a masking agent,
meaning on that exhale the cannabis aroma will be enhanced rather than
completely covered, masked, like it would be with bubble gum or blueberry or
fruity pebbles. Where do we fall on the strength of this profile versus other
profiles? Right so this is gonna be categorized toward the more mild end of
things. It's definitely not gonna be in your face but you'll still get that
flavor in the aroma throughout it. What that means is if you were to take six drops
of this blend and put it in a pen, versus six drops of another pen sometimes
they're just stronger. Regardless of whatever the combinations
of flavors are, sometimes we'll just get a really potent profile, sometimes you'll
get a mild profile this one, it's right at the mild-medium level. So if you're
