Pronunciation Marathon Day 1 | Don't Practise with Words Alone - Duration: 3:23.

- Hi guys.

It's Marine.

Welcome back to My Little English Page.

Today is a very exciting day

because we are starting the marathon,

the Pronunciation Marathon.

It will last from today, Monday, until Sunday,

and every day, I will post a video with a pronunciation tip

and a tongue twister that you can use to practice with.

So this week is really going to help you

bring your pronunciation up a notch.

For our first pronunciation tip,

I am going to use the word chunks.

Chunks.

And I'm not focusing on the pronunciation of the word,

but actually the meaning of it.

When we practice pronunciation at home,

we usually focus on words alone

or we just try to pronounce an entire sentence all at once.

This is not particularly useful.

So just practicing pronouncing words on their own

can be useful at first,

but then you're going to start sounding very robotic

because you're going to say every single word separately.

Now, practicing pronunciation with an entire sentence

is very challenging.

So we're going to cut the sentences in chunks,

and that's what we're going to use to practice with.

But let me show you with today's tongue twister.

So this is our tongue twister.

It's quite a challenging one.

Let me pronounce it once or at all once.

Lesser leather never weathered wetter weather better.

So like I said, it's challenging,

and saying it all at once is even more challenging.

So let's have a look at what chunks we could make.

The first chunk is going to be lesser leather.

It sounds similar, but if I try and repeat them together

over and over, I'm going to memorize it all at once,

and it will just come naturally out of my mouth.

Lesser leather, lesser leather, lesser leather.

Practice, practice, practice.

Then my second chunk would be never weathered.

Never weathered.

So lesser leather, never weathered,

and then my final chunk, wetter weather better.

So let's try having a look at all three chunks together.

Lesser leather never weathered wetter weather better.

Right?

One more time.

Faster.

Lesser leather never weathered wetter weather better.

All right, guys?

So keep in mind.

Divide sentences in chunks.

Don't focus on pronunciation of words alone

because then you're going to sound like a robot

when you say the words like this all separated.

All right, guys.

This was the first tip and the first tongue twister

of the Pronunciation Marathon.

Don't forget to follow My Little English Page

on Facebook, Instagram, the blog,

but also to press the bell button on YouTube.

That way, you are sure not to miss any of the videos

from the marathon.

All right, guys.

That's it for today.

Thank you so much for watching, and of course,

keep on learning.

Bye bye.

Leather.

God's promises start with a prompting. | Gamechanger | Pastor Steven Furtick - Duration: 50:43.

hey don't start clicking off I promise we're gonna get to the preaching in just

a moment but I'm excited about this this is a very special tradition at Elevation

and we want to speak to all of you who call our church home especially our

extended family our eFam around the world because once a year we have a special

series it's really more than a collection of teachings it's a faith

experience for all of the people who are part of our ministry at Elevation and

this year our theme is Gamechanger I think one of the most exciting things

that God is doing in our ministry is to open the doors of our ministry beyond

our walls what I mean by that is we are amazed at the thousands and thousands

and thousands of you who are letting us know that you're impacted by this

ministry in another zip code in another state in another country maybe

eventually on another planet but what I wanted to mention to you is that you can

be a part of this beyond just consuming many of you've been blessed by God to be

a blessing and I wanted to ask today would you be willing during this special

time of year to make a one-time donation to the ministry or maybe partner with us

on a monthly basis through recurring giving I believe God could use your gift

to enable this ministry to continue to reach to continue to break paradigms to

continue to lift up Jesus and I wanted to ask you personally to go to

www.elevationchurch.org and you can see the ways to give there but most importantly know

that we feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to Minister the Word of

God not only to you but to challenge you to partner with us in reaching people

for the Gospel I believe your gift today could be a game-changer so don't put it

off right now www.elevationchurch.org you can find all of the details I hope you

enjoy this message and thank you for being a part of the family welcome today

to all of our locations can we thank God for all of our campuses and

location I said can we thank God for all of our campuses and locations Amen

I was doing my stalker thing where I go around to all the campuses pushing

buttons with cameras that are set up in the auditoriums I've been on do I look

tired I was on I was on a trip I went to Asheville and Columbia and I even went

to Toronto for a minute all through technology of course before I came out

to see you so I'm a little jet lagged but thank God for the great work He's

doing also with our eFam around the world and our interns our fall 2018 interns

come on thank God for thank God for them thank God for their their wardrobes

for their sense of style and fashion I'm gonna tell you why they're up here in a

minute I'm gonna keep you in suspense but hey one thing that I really always

feel good about is when I'm doing exactly what I know God wants me to do

when I stand up here on the stage and as we get ready for next weekend which is

going to be phenomenal where so many people around the world and here at our

church locally are going to participate in our Gamechanger offering where we

get to bring God something of significance and value to us

and we all get to make that opportunity count to invest something in what can't

be taken away as we have so many times before as we get ready for that I pray

and I try to see how God wants me to preach that would position us each of us

for the season that He's taking us in to and that's important to me not to follow

a formula it's important to me I'm not saying there's anything wrong with doing

it the same way every time because you know we take up these offerings for

expansion and we use so much of it for outreach each year so I guess it would

be fine if I just repeated the pattern each year but maybe it's just my

personality I can't do that and even more than that I don't want to start

trusting in some kind of formula I guess that's the best way to say it if I'm

gonna preach about faith I want to demonstrate faith in the way that I

preach about what I'm preaching about so does that make sense anyway whether it

made sense or not here's what I'm gonna do today because when I was praying

about what we should do as we set up what's gonna happen next weekend and I

pray that you would not skip church next weekend you know some people will always

do that like it's gonna be a guilt trip it's not it's not like there's gonna be

a cover charge next week or something like that it's for everyone but it'll be

really beautiful it'll be special but this week is probably the most important

because this is where we set it up and any good comedian can tell you that the

setup is often more important than the punchline and so but there's nothing

funny about the Word of God so let's go let's go to the Word of God today I

want to share the same scripture just a few verses if I drop a few verses down

from what I shared last week did you get to hear the message last weekend

it's mine to manage touch somebody say it's God's to give but it's mine to

manage and I talked about this concept that we are stewards of the story the

story of how God has saved us and how God has sustained us and as a pastor I'm

coming to understand my role more and more as a steward of the story that God

is telling through this church and it's God's story but it's ours to manage so

powerful and so let me let me get into this real quick and this would be a

little different today I think you can tell that I'm a little I'm excited I'm

really excited but I'm sitting down I'm seated so I'm not gonna scream as much

those of you who don't like all that anyway this is your this is your weekend

and I'm just gonna talk to you a little bit today

you laughed a little too much of that made me feel self-conscious

I might holler once or twice but I really just want to talk to you and I

got all this stuff in my Bible and I tell you what it all is in a moment some

notes and some some money and I'll tell you about that and an envelope and some

post-it notes and we'll get to all that in a moment but first let me read this

this is so important as a backdrop for what I believe God wants to give you as

a back story today every blessing has a back story okay every blessing has a

back story and so this is one for the nation of Israel

Joshua 4:19 on the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan

and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho and Joshua set up

everybody say set up and Joshua set up at Gilgal the 12 stones they had taken

out of the Jordan now they're not in the promised land yet but God is setting

them up and as a part of the setup it's kind of elaborate God it's like hey take

the stones from the Jordan which represents the miracle that I just did for you and

set it up and then after you set up the stones this is the purpose of them

they're not just props I don't want you to just collect these stones for props

and put them in a trophy case somewhere but rather than just trophies these are

triggers these stones that you set up because I'm not done with you yet

and there's a great thing that I'm doing through you and so I want to use the

stones as a set up and then watch verse 21 it gives it gives the purpose he said

to the Israelites in the future when your descendants asked their parents now

stop right there he's teaching them to think

generationally he's thinking them he's teaching them not to just settle for

instant gratification and what's in it for me so in the future when your kids

are asking what do these stones mean tell them tell them they're important

because the stones can't speak for themselves right this is not like Siri

hey Siri bring me lemonade this is not that kind of thing this is not some

magic trick you got you've got to speak and tell them when you see the stones

when they see the stones tell them I love this stuff I love these Old

Testament stories so much in them tell them

Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground for the Lord your God dried up the

Jordan before you until you had crossed over the Lord your God did to the Jordan

what He had done to the Red Sea when He dried it up before us until we had

crossed over every generation is to experience their own move of God not

just worship something God did in the past but to move forward into the future

full of faith and so I want to speak to you for a few moments today on the power

of the prompt the prompt if you'd like to write that down

it's just a little title that I'm giving the message if you wouldn't like to

write it down it's still the title that I'm giving the message

the power of the prompt so about these interns they're pretty cool

www.elevationchurch.org/internship shameless plug

they are two weeks out from finishing their internship and I got to meet with

them Thursday and we had the best time right we're supposed to go 90 minutes

and it went 2.5 hours and then for the first time that has ever

happened I met them at the movies because as a part of their discipleship

process I took them to see Creed 2 amen come on I'm a good good pastor it's Who

I am

now what prompted me to do that well when I was getting to know them I like

to do an icebreaker hey you know what's your favorite music and then they'll

always say Christian bands cuz I'm the pastor and then I don't know what so

what do you really listen to and then they'll uh I'll ask what's your favorite TV

shows they all said the office I think everybody said the office and I said

cool y'all are too young for the office but anyway I understand and then they

said I said what's your favorite movie and one of the kids

screams out Rocky he said it you know like you'd like sometimes you're in a

worship service and somebody goes Jesus but he said the name of Rocky and when

he invoked the name of Rocky he won my heart

in fact come here Gabe real quick LJ just in honor in honor of Gabe let's do

this real quick go ahead go ahead LJ oh you want to run the stairs

I like that yea do those too those stairs too go all the way take those stairs they want to see you go

come on man make it count

so this could be you elevationchurch.org/internship thanks for

coming now let's go sit down man that's enough catch

your breath you know you hadn't done that much

cardio in months

so I was like you like rocky he goes yeah I said now this is a real test I

said what's the best rocky he said and he didn't have to pray he didn't and

this is how I'm gonna test if he's a true man of God he said he wants to go in ministry one

day and there's an answer to this and it's definitely not it's definitely not

5 we all know that could be 3 but he said the right answer he said Rocky 4

when he said Rocky 4 I said I perceived that thou art a prophet and

the words of life I was like just cause that's the first one my dad showed me

I remember my dad on a Friday night we stopped by National Home Video in

Moncks Corner VHS tape and he said you're ready for Rocky 4 and you're

ready for you ready to see by the way it's just I can know who to pray for

that needs the Lord how many of you have not seen Rocky a single Rocky movie oh

come to the altar are you serious your parents

haven't shown you Rocky 4 we call DSS on those parents I almost felt like with

my kids it was a generational responsibility you know to show them how

the Cold War really ended with Rocky defeating Drago and and then so when I

found out that Creed 2 was the sequel to Rocky 4 I was like oh man this is the

this is the equivalent of Joshua and Moses this is like the Red Sea and the

Jordan you know is this - this is probably taking the illustration too far

but I almost had a spiritual experience I met them at the theater on on Thursday

night and we watched Rocky I think we annoyed everybody in the theater

we were so loud at Stonecrest but we went to the temple of Stonecrest and we

watched the Gospel according to Rocky Balboa and then there's so much gospel

in Rocky but you probably know the backstory to it and so you know it

prompted me sermons come to me from all kinds of places but I'm sitting there

Graham and Elijah went with me and we're watching Creed 2 and I won't tell you

how it ends because your homework this week is to prepare your offering read

your Bible and go seek Creed 2 it's fantastic and then and then I was thinking

Graham was sitting with me Elijah was sitting with me the interns were there

and I was thinking like remembering my dad's in heaven now and so I always

remember when he showed me it was just a cool moment where I was like every

generation gets their own Rocky it's pretty cool and then I thought I wonder how many of them know the back story of

how Rocky Balboa was created I wonder how many of I wonder how many of them

know what these stones mean you know they know that Michael B Jordan wasn't

the first Creed I wonder if they know and I don't know

how much of this you knew Gabe but when Sylvester Stallone created Rocky he was

inspired because he was broke right he had been in one movie and he had

moderate success but he moved to LA because he wanted to start really trying

to write and he would walk around writing stuff and that he went to see

Muhammad Ali fight Chuck Wepner how many of you didn't know any of this just

raise your hand real quick ok this is important this is almost biblical Rocky

is canonical and I promise you we'll be in Joshua in just a moment but but let me give the

back story to this and when he was watching Chuck Wepner fight Muhammad Ali

and go the distance even though he didn't win and put the champ down he was

inspired by the story of an underdog he thought that's what I need to write and

he spent the next three days writing the rough draft of Rocky three days three

days so for those of you who don't believe that Rocky is biblical it's

three days and then when he finished writing it he

remembered he was prompted just by something that he saw talk about the

power of a prompt he was prompted watching it I need to write that he

wrote it and then somebody asked him what he was working on when he went for

an audition one time and he almost didn't want to tell him because even

know if it was any good but he showed him I'm working on this thing he's prompted

and then they offered him $25,000 for the script $50,000, $100,000 no because

they weren't gonna let him be Rocky if you wanted to play Rocky and something

in and told him you need to play this character this is a once in a lifetime

thing and then they offered him $250,000 $300,000

$360,000 he had $106 in his bank account and they

offered him $360,000 for the script he said no he

had already sold his dog Butkus Butkus he sold his dog Butkus and and he

turned it down and finally they gave him $1,000,000

dollars to make the movie which wasn't much and he made it and as of 2017

according to what I Googled the Rocky franchise has earned in the box-office

alone over $1.4B so let's thank God for Rocky and then

and then we'll move on cause there's something I want to tell you about I just told you I I can see

some of you like come on man I didn't come for all this shut up I'm trying to get

to something here alright I got a reason for telling you this because everything

great that I've ever seen I would attribute to the hand of God in my life

started with a prompting a prompting and the thing about game-changers and game-

changing decisions is that they don't feel like game-changers in the moment it

doesn't a promise from God usually doesn't feel like a promise here's how

it operates in the pattern of Scripture okay that God will give you a promise

and then He will give you a prompting to act on the promise that He gave

and learning to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is the

most crucial skill that that you could ever acquire in your life it takes

courage it takes discernment it takes sometimes being still shutting the other

voices off but the promptings of the Holy Spirit I mean how many times have I

missed the the the blessing of God in an area of my life because I did not

respond to a prompting how many times have we come to church and heard a

sermon and and then we experienced the prompting but because we didn't respond

to the prompt we did not receive the promise it could be the smallest things

one time God prompted me to send somebody a a voice memo they said they

saved it for 4 years on their phone I didn't know that they were gonna save it

for 4 years I just knew they were going through something then I sent it

to him prompting a prompting and it must have seemed weird to the Israelites

right set up the stones but the stones are not there to serve the purpose that

they seem to be serving on the surface they are to prompt the story now I'm

preaching to you today because there are some things that God has placed in your

life and some things that he's doing that if you will pay attention God is

trying to to use that thing to prompt you in an area of your life where he

intends to bless you the stones prompt the story and then the

story is meant to prompt the faith of the people so that they can continue on

and this is how God works so I want to practice this today I want to do this in

front of you it's one thing to preach it it's another thing to practice it and I

realized that the Israelites didn't go back to that place in Gilgal and tell

their children the story that's why in Judges 2:10 it says that the next

generation didn't know why didn't they know because their parents didn't

revisit the place they got so far from where they started that they lost their

sense of who brought them now I don't want that to happen to us as

a church and so I thought what might be appropriate today to help prompt your

faith is to share a few stones not 12 I'm not gonna do 12 like the 12 stones

we don't we don't have that long but I just want to take 5 just want to take

5 prompts and this is where the post-it notes come in because I wrote

down 5 prompts you know like the writing prompt that you get writing

prompt and I'm gonna hand these one at a time to these interns and I'm gonna ask

them to tell me the story and you can ask me anything you want as long as it's

exactly what's written on this post-it note and I'm gonna answer it

it's a prompt everybody say prompt prompt that's that's the word God gave

me prompt to learn how to respond to the prompting of God that's what this

offering is about that's what life is about

that's what forgiveness is about God is gonna prompt you and will you respond to

the prompt that determines how you experience the promise so I've got 5

of these and they will prompt the story like those stones prompted the stories

and I pray that God will use it you wanna read the first one you didn't get to go

last night okay it's the same ones as last night though yeah I didn't change

them because it went good last night so really nice tell me about the time you

thought your college roommate was going crazy but was actually setting an

example you would follow for the next 20 years what a great question thank you

for asking me that so my college roommate my junior and senior year was

named Alex early which is funny because he would get up super early and he would

pray I would get up last minute 7:57 for an 8 a.m. class we went to North

Greenville University it's where I got my degree it's where I got my wife if you

were to ask me which of those two has served a greater purpose in my life it

would no doubt be that one so I hadn't shown anybody my degree in a while but I

show her off all the time anyway my roommate was Alex Early

he was very spiritual but he's also one of these people who wasn't so spiritual

that he wasn't funny he was like able to he could quote John Calvin to you but he

could also make the funniest prank phone calls

and he would call he had this uh this this redneck persona called Duwiané

McGraw D-U-W-I-A-N-É with a thing over the e cuz it's French Duwiané McGraw

and he called he modeled after Roy D Mercer we had the best time in college but

what I learned from him that I never forget that I am so glad you asked me

about thank you for asking me that is a one day he came running back to the room

between classes and he looked like he looked like he was in a state of

absolute emergency he was in panic mode and he starts grabbing out of the drawers

all the money he can find in the room not my money his money he starts

grabbing all the money out of the room and I was like what are you doing he's

like I don't have time to talk about it I'll tell you when I get back oh my god what

is Alex what is Alex into it's just like some Walter White crap going on and and

so he uh he came back he wouldn't talk to tell me what he was doing he came

back he said he looked so relieved I was like what was that and you and he said

he was real serious he goes God convicted me bro I've been hold on let me tell you

what he what he said next

he said since I've been here at college I haven't been tithing he belonged to a

church that I really admire in his hometown in Woodstock Georgia First

Baptist Woodstock Pastor Johnny Hunt and he said I am I'm sending my tithe I

calculated God spoke to me that His money was in my bank account and I'd

been telling myself the whole time I was here at college that since I was away

and since I didn't have much anyway he said but God convicted me not to keep

His money in my account and that boy mailed the cash and he had coins and

everything he could find and sent it in the mail and God used him one of the

ways God will prompt you sometimes is through the example of somebody else

that's why I always do the giving on the weekend where people come and give

because I think that sometimes an example is better than a sermon Amen

and when he did that God spoke to me you know because my mom had taught me the

same principle of tithing and yet I found so many excuses and you know what

I did next thing I did well I had a checking account I didn't think it had

to be as ghetto as he made it out to be like throwing cash in the mail but I did the

same thing I decided you know what he's right he's right if I can't trust God

with that 10% how can I say everything I have comes from Him and I send it yeah

Amen see I'm not I need you to know this in case you're new or a guest or

something I am not one bit timid about preaching this stuff this is my

testimony I don't apologize for it I believe in what we do I believe in what

God's Word teaches I've seen it in my so like if you need me to get up here

and say yeah it'll be okay you're special that's not me that's not how I feel

about God that's not how I feel about His Word that's not how I feel about His

principles that's not how I feel about His promises

I believe this stuff so so it prompted me and I never I never kept God's money

in my bank account after that no matter how much I had didn't have and it got

harder when you have more you know 10% of $50 isn't that hard

to send send God some some coupons in the mail or something like that then when

God starts blessing you you have to decide do you want to trust Him on the

next level Amen so I believe God's gonna prompt some

people this this year end that you've been holding on to what is God's

I should move on from this point it feels super uncomfortable but these are just

my stones these are my stories this is what God has done for me so here's

another one I really like this one this is probably my favorite one who wants to do

this one you want the prompt yeah okay let's get her a mic Ben Landheer by the

way Ben who's your favorite intern on the stage right now don't answer that

no just give her the mic give her the mic tell me about the big decision you made

at the kitchen table that made you feel like you were going to throw up in your

mouth and I wrote it in an acceptable way I think I actually did throw up in

my mouth and swallow it back down so here's the story too vivid I understand

you know when Holly and I got married she taught school and I traveled and

we saved up and put a down payment on a house and we did what Dave Ramsey taught

in his Financial Peace stuff like no debt and all that we tried to do that

but other than our house but then another thing we did was he said put an

emergency fund and Dave Ramsey said it he said it scared me that to not do it

the way he said it and he said that it should be a certain amount of your

expenses in case something happens and he said do it as quick as you can well

we were just married and we didn't start with a lot

money or anything like that we started with no money but over time I was able

to build up and I'll never forget like we're in our house at 330 Dellwood

Drive Shelby North Carolina you could go by there and knock on the door and ask

the person say hey say hello and then go into the kitchen and then sit down and

you'll see the spot where this happened ok alright so we we had just put that

amount of money we just hit the amount in the savings account and I was going

in to tell Holly hey good news we got our emergency fund we hit the

number because we set the number hit the number and when I went in to tell her

prompt something prompted me and at first I thought it was the devil

I really did because it was like hey what if you gave that money instead we didn't

have kids yet we didn't have that that pressure of providing for children yet

and we were young we could afford number one combos at the Mexican restaurant and

and so it was like what if you gave it away would you do that so when I sat

down at the table I told Holly hey I got good news and bad

news the good news is we've got our emergency fund like the last deposit we

made it to the she said what's the bad news

I said I think God might be I don't know if I used the word prompting but I feel

like an impression that we should give it away

and see I'm counting on her to say that's not God like I'm counting on her

to have no faith right because then I can say well Lord the woman that you

gave me you know

and she goes oh cool I trust you God spoke to you let's go let's do it dang it woman and so I

remember sitting down writing 5 checks I remember who we wrote them to

it's not before we didn't have Elevation Church yet the church we were part of at

the time another ministry and we gave it away but the funniest thing was while I

was doing it I was like my hands were shaking and right when I've written the

last one I felt like a peace and the way that I interpreted what the peace that I

felt was like God was saying to me keep your hands open to me no matter how much

I bless you with no matter how hard things get at certain times in your life

or how tight it seems and I've experienced both of those keep your hands open and

if you'll keep your hands open to me you'll always have everything you need

to do everything I've called you to do

now let me tell you the sequel to that cuz every Rocky 4 has a Creed 2 every

Red Sea has a Jordan just this past Monday I got to sit down with our kids at the

kitchen table and it wasn't some holy sacred moment in fact they were running

around they were I think annoyed that they had to sit and listen to these

stories again I think Graham said dad we know this already but what I did I told

them our testimony and I asked them to bring all their money to the table which

is really technically my money you have no money you understand that but bring

my money that I let you pretend like is your money and keep in your little

stupid wallet bring it to the table Abby has more money than the boys I

don't know what she's running on the side at school selling some Jolly

Ranchers or something Abby is so loaded she got she's like says to her brothers

all the time you need to visit the bank of Abby she's 7 I sat them down and said it's time it's

year end offering you know we did this with Waymaker we did this with

Surround we did this we've been doing this since they were conscious like

here's mommy and daddy and remember Dada Dada Dada Baba Baba Baba cuz different

times we've done that over and over again not the tithe but above and beyond

and then we pray about it and sometimes God will give me like a specific number

that's meaningful sometimes I'll think I have the number and then it's not the

right one cuz it doesn't take faith and God will stretch me because one will be

what I can do and then one will be something that really says how I need

Him but when I was walking them through that and I'm like sit down and listen to

this you know you need to hear this story

I realized something that just this year we had a milestone we're now Holly and I

by the grace of God have been able to give to this church Elevation Church not

what we originally gave at the kitchen table and in Shelby the emergency fund

and not 2 times that but over the course of this church we've been able to

give not 10 times and I couldn't really believe this number not a 100 times

but 1,000 times what we gave at that kitchen table

to this ministry and I'm not gonna tell you the amount because it's not about

the size of the gift it's about the sacrifice that's what it's always about

like some people sit through this teaching and God prompts them to give a

$1,000,000 and they're able to do that we've seen that but some people got

prompts and God prompts them to do something that would seem small but to

him it's bigger because it represents something that comes from your heart

that's all God is when I went to I went to Elevation they just talked about

money I'm not talking about money I'm talking about your heart where your treasure is your heart

will be also and we talk about every element of your

heart but until this happens until your hands are open to God that's that's what

the offering is about it's about getting your hands open not because God needs

what you have you need what He has

I'm preaching on this stool I don't even need a pulpit for this sermon I am preaching

on this stool Drago I'm grateful you know like when we first

gave to outreach I had no idea that that it was a set of a stepping stone it was

a stepping stone God was setting the table because when this church didn't

have much money Hurricane Katrina hit and I felt a

prompting reach out to somebody in New Orleans or in the area and I found a

pastor in Slidell Louisiana and we sent him $1,600 that we did not have we

needed that money for our church but I was operating out of the same principle

you keep your hands open to me and see what I will do through you and now the

fact that we've given and will have given by the end of this year over

$40,000,000 away to those in need come on I'm prompting you right now to

praise God for what we've been able to do around the world you kind of go back and

and you wonder you wonder you wonder what if what if we had said no back then

what if I said no I'm gonna keep my little $1600 for our outreach I'm gonna keep my

and God is prompting some of you to open your hands to Him

and I pray that you'll know that joy it's a it's a real privilege it's a real

privilege let's do another prompt I think we got time for one or two more

you wanna do this one you sure this is a big one don't screw it up

take the post-it now that shiny cross around your neck tell me about the

silver bullet of the church planting the silver bullet of church planting you

want to know about that you sure I don't know if you can handle the silver bullet

of church planting I certainly wasn't ready for the silver bullet of

church planting so imagine this church has not started yet

I'm meeting with the 7 families that moved here to start the church come on

let's go back to the Jordan for a minute you got to go back to where you started

and revisit these miracles so at that time I didn't know anything to teach

these people so all we did was read books from people who knew how to start

church because we never started one I was 25 years old I had no idea I mean

I'm scared to death but I feel like God is prompting us to start this church and

we had just decided to come to Charlotte to start it we put up a map and anyway

you don't need did all that the point is I brought in a guy who I thought was like

an expert in church planting and I asked him to talk to my team tell them anything

you want and I'll give you a $50 Chili's gift card at the time that

seemed generous we got it from credit card rebate points okay and so

he's like eh you're don't have to give me anything I'll just come nice guy and he

shared with us a little bit about evangelism a little bit about marketing

a little bit about team building unity groups all the typical stuff but then

when it was over we'd been recording the whole session so we could listen to

it and learn from it taking notes and all the families are sitting around the

table and he's like at the end he goes okay can you turn that off a minute

can you stop recording you turn it off and he goes can you shut the door what's

about to happen here yeah and we shut the door he's like now I'm gonna give

you the silver bullet of church planting

I'm I'm about to hear this and then he goes there are friends that you have that

belong to other churches and those churches are big and they tithe to their

church but their church wouldn't miss it if they stopped get them to transfer

their tithe from that big church to your little church for 24 months and and when

he said it it felt like a bullet not a silver bullet but it felt like if we did

that if we started this church on that kind of manipulation that we

would always have to manipulate and I thanked him I didn't correct him until he

left the room I said thank you for coming appreciate it

God bless you he prayed he left I shut the door again when he left I said to

the team I said we will not build this church on those types of principles if

we're gonna do God's work and God's will we'll have to do it God's way

and

it was a temptation in the moment you know because it was strategic and

sometimes sometimes you'll be prompted to take a shortcut and to do it your way

you can justify it you know but in that moment here's what God prompted me to

ask of that team and these are just normal people some of them with small

children all of them moving with with no job we didn't have some big funding

it was nothing like that it was nothing like that I just said

what if we gave 10% the tithe to the church that we're currently a part of

until we leave that is sending us and another 10% to the new one we're

starting what if we all committed to lead the way and to do that so that when we

stand up and ask people to be a part of this we will have set an example that

they can follow do you want to know why God is using this ministry today and now

like I look in the camera and it's like in Singapore and Cape Town and Gastonia

and all kinds of places all around the world it's not because of it's not

because of great preaching it's because of personal sacrifice that people were

willing to make and hear me I appreciate the

front row but I want to say something to everybody watching the sermon if we

become now just consumers Christian consumers where it's like I didn't

really like the word today Ah they didn't do my song today Ah it was a guest today Ah was at

this event if it becomes about that God will shut it all down because that is

not what this church was founded on you see how they're looking at me out there

it's like this you are sitting right now in somebody else's sacrifice I always

thought that was so crazy people come and go I don't I don't I don't like when

the church talks about giving how do you think there was a church for you to come

to if somebody didn't give me too JJ I loved it I love to tell the story of how

that original core team they're all still here at the church by the way all

of those families do you know how rare that is that God kept those families together

these 12.5 years and now God is calling on another generation and

I really don't have time for the last two stones I'd I'd like to give them to

you but I'm I'm only gonna be able to give you one of them and I'm gonna let

you vote on this one which one you want do you want to hear about the time that

John the Baptist came into my office

or option a or do you want to hear about the time that we took a bus ride from hell these

are your options pray about it see if God prompts you who wants to hear John

the Baptist make some noise at every location who wants to hear about the bus

ride from hell make some noise alright so John the Baptist

I'm gonna tell you this one real quick that's the that's the time that John

Butler who was a Baptist who yeah he was a Baptist preacher and he came in my

office listen to this you heard this last night but listen again you need to

hear these stories over and over again he came in and he had $300,000 he had a

denominational job he'd been coming to the church the church was full he sits

on my couch in my office he asked for a meeting with me and he said well

preacher you were full this Sunday I noticed you were full I noticed there

wasn't an empty seat in the house and I'm so proud of that I was like yes sir

praise the Lord you know spiritualize it but really I was proud of it

yes sir praise the Lord we prayed for it praise God he goes preacher that's a

problem I said no it's not a problem it's a goal I want a full house he said yeah

but you're telling these people to bring their friends where are their friends gonna

sit you need to start another campus and I have $300,000 that a little old lady

who died left to the Baptist Convention for church planting and I'll give it to

you if you'll start another campus and here's what I said and I'm ashamed to

tell you this to this day because for all you that think this is just a brag

session to tell you about my great faith it's not it's about God's faithfulness

in spite of it because I looked at that man and said I don't have the gifts to

do that people would not watch me preach on the screen

so I thank God for what he said next so powerful he said here's how it works

preacher and he's talking to me like like I like like a young punk like I was

but he said it with love too he said if you get ahead of God trying

to obey Him He'll just shut the door if you get

behind God and won't obey Him He'll just get somebody else to do it you take a

few days and pray about it preacher and let me know what you want to do and he

got up to walk out and I was like hey come back we'll do it we'll do it we'll do it I don't want God to pick somebody else come on I want in on this I want to be in the

middle of what God is doing it and now today watch this over over I want to say

it's 17 locations it's more than that because somebody's watching this in a

hospital room on the screen somebody's watching this on television

somebody's watching this in a prison

and it all starts when you respond to a prompting so for just a moment would you

would you just seated right there where you are for a moment would you

make a space right now in your heart for the Holy Spirit to prompt you in an area

of your life where He is speaking to you but you have not yet responded Joshua

said set up these stones so that when the children of Israel ask you what

these stones mean you can tell them what God did I did my best today in the

little bit of time that we had to tell you some of the things that God has done

for us in the 12.5 years that we've been a church some of it

before you got here some of you have been here for many of these miracles and

I did it in hopes that it would prompt you to know that when faith skips a

generation and when we start to stand in the middle of something that God did

that was extraordinary and treated as common miracles start to dry up and all

I'm asking you to do as we prepare for next weekend online around the world you

know we've already had the conversation with our family here's uh here's Abby's

money it's the biggest one of the kids money that's what God prompted them to

do Holly and I have have been praying and I didn't tell you this yet but in my in

my heart while I was preaching last night my number went up so we need to

talk again because one number was comfortable

and then the other number represented a commitment to not rest on what God has

already done but to make way for what He wants to do and the ask is very simple

ask God ask Him to prompt you some of you have never been through this process

so you've never taken it seriously and I understand it's uh it's uncomfortable

but this card is a prompt it's a prompt for you you know what a

great word prompt prompt prompt it also means immediate prompt

prompt yes God it's yours of course God of course I would advance

your work of course I would give to You of course I would be generous of course

I would want to make a way for someone else like You made a way for me of

course Lord it's Yours when you get that kind of spirit in your heart you begin

to experience promises of God that you could never imagine this is not some

name it claim it blab it grab it weird theology where I'm telling you that you

can get a Mercedes if you give God $10 I don't believe in that I don't

preach that I never have never will what I'm telling you is a testimony that

God has made away for me time after time and I want to see Him do the same in

your life if that means that right now you're in a season where you can't give

then let this be the season that someone else carries the load there's nothing

wrong with that but you pray you pray that those who are able to give will if

not on the level that's comfortable but on the level that represents a true

commitment to the cause of Christ may we never become like this when we started

like this so I want you to bow your head and close your eyes no one moving this

is a pretty important moment right now is a setup for something that God wants

to do in the future and I'd like to just give you 1 minute just 60 seconds

after I stop talking and if you would ask God silently you don't have to pray

out loud or anything like that maybe you want to just open your hands just

physically like right in front of you that's what I do sometimes when I'm

praying about a message or when I'm asking God for direction in my life

maybe just with your hands open and just say God would you prompt me

would you prompt me to respond to the Gospel that you've freely given me as I

get the opportunity to share with others would you speak to me specifically God

show me how I can be used as I prepare my offering so I give it online this

week or bring it back next weekend show me what you've given me that came from

you that I can now give back as an offering and in just a moment I'm gonna

allow you to sit you know God often doesn't shout He doesn't like draw stuff

in the sky He doesn't always respond with a big star sign that comes from

heaven out loud He speaks in a whisper still small voice He prompts you and it

is your response to that prompting that determines how much of His promises you

experience so Father now speak to Your people in this minute of silence and

throughout the next week and prompt them as to what You would have them to do in

obedience hey thanks for joining us today we really hope you enjoyed the

sermon we want to give you some practical ways to put what you heard

today into practice now first of all would you take some time and think about

the stones you have in your life maybe it's the moments when God showed His

faithfulness across your journey second would you pray about what God would have

you give to the year end offering here at Elevation for some of you who call

Elevation home maybe it's just to start tithing that's giving back to God the

very first 10% now for others of you it may be to bring an offering a gift that

will allow us to continue spreading the gospel all around the world and we want

everyone to participate by just choosing a word or a phrase for 2019 something

that you're believing God for in this next year you can visit elevationchurch.org/give

for more details and how to give and be apart we're

excited to see how God is gonna move in our church in this season and believe

that God wants to do something very special in your life

New revolutionary space propulsion - Clixoom Science & Fiction ENGLISH - Duration: 4:02.

This sounds like its been taken right out of a science fiction movie.

ESA has developed a new revolutionary propulsion system for spacecrafts.

It uses the air molecules of the upper atmosphere of planets and thus allows significantly longer

space missions.

How does the drive work and what could that mean for space travel?

Now on Clixoom Science and Fiction, subscribe for three new videos every week.

Welcome.

Hardly anyone has heard of it, but the ESA is very much ahead in the game of spacecraft

propulsion with this technology.

It has already used an electric drive in her GOCE gravitational satellite.

The satellite had the task to detect anomalies in the gravitational field of the earth.

Because the acceleration of gravity of 9.81 M / s squared is not the same everywhere and

it looked for energy sources, underground heat sources that can be used for geothermal

energy.

The mission was a complete success also thanks to an electric power plant.

Instead of burning fuels, which is what usually happens with chemical engines, this drive

ionizes xenon molecules.

Due to the electric charge, these molecules can then be accelerated and ejected with electric

fields.

It creates a recoil.

It's a bit like the old television tube.

Here electrons were shot on a pictorial surface with the help of cathodes and anodes.

In the "air-breathing" electric drive, it is molecules that are shot into space.

Before that, they are compressed to produce a much stronger recoil.

Until now, fuel was still needed for this technology.

In the case of the GOCE mission, it was 40 kilograms of xenon, which had to be transported

first and then eventually used up.

The satellite crashed back to Earth and completely burned up near the Falkland Islands close

to Argentina.

That was the end of the mission.

But now ESA has tested a prototype where this does not have to happen anymore.

GOCE flew at an altitude of only 250 kilometers above the earth.

A height in which the drive is used above all to generate a counterforce against the

low air resistance in the thin atmosphere there.

And there are many spacecrafts that fly so low to do their job.

The ISS, the International Space Station, orbits the earth at an altitude of only 400

kilometers.

Now ESA has revolutionized this drive.

Instead of using xenon the noble gas was slowly replaced, by air molecules during the test

run.

After all, with such a drive it does not really matter which particles generate the recoil.

"When the xenon-based blue color of the jet engine turned violet, we knew we'd made it,"

says Louis Walpot of ESA.

A new era of space travel has begun, because this way very different spacecraft hardly

have to take fuel.

Such a propulsion would also work in a low Mars orbit.

It would allow very long missions everywhere, where particles can be sucked in, ionized

and expelled in some way . In the Martian atmosphere, for example, this could be carbon

dioxide.

And the electrical energy needed for the drive can simply be generated by the sun through

solar cells.

An inexhaustible source of energy.

Great times are coming up for many a mission, and we'll be able to gain better insights.

The Saturn probe Cassini could have stayed in the planets orbit for longer, perhaps even

proving life on Enceladus through new experiments.

You Ask - Ken Answers - How Do I Know If The Singing Info I Get On YouTube Is Legit - Duration: 3:51.

Hey guys! Welcome back again to Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy! I'm continuing my

series on You Ask and Ken Answers, and we're getting singing questions from all

over the world, so you can go to the website, email us, you can go into our

singers forums, we have 15,000, maybe more than that, members now. Just put in a

request there. You can go onto our Facebook page, whatever. But I'm actually

answering these questions, and with that said, let's get started!

Felipe from Sao Paulo Brazil writes "How do I know if I'm getting good singing

information on the internet or YouTube?" Well Felipe, good question! This should go

out to everybody, actually. It's not just about singing information. How do you

know that you're getting any good information? It could be from politics to

religion, to banking, to you name it! Whatever it is. Dog food, I don't care. You

really need to consider the source of where you're getting your information.

And here's what I mean by that. Like I kind of laughed for a long time, and you

know as you get older and you try to make investments and for you younger

kids out there you probably won't relate to this in the same way, but humor me for

a second. I laughed at, as I had this economics professor at UCLA, for example

and he was, you know, telling everybody how they should invest their money. Well

the first question to me was hmm. Are you rich? Did you invest your money wisely?

and the answer was "no", right? So here's a guy teaching at UCLA who is gonna give

everyone else advice on how to invest their money, but he himself hasn't done

it. Don't you think that's a little weird? And there's a lot of disciplines like

that. So we really want to start with, you know, does that person have

qualifications, or have they done it themselves? Now in the singing world, it's

really bizarre, because you can see all these different "vocal coaches" who claim

all this information, and they parrot different things out of textbooks, and

regurgitate something that they read on the internet, or heard someone else say

on YouTube, and it "makes them an expert." So let's start here, Felipe. Ask the

"coach" have they ever toured before? It's a simple question. It's an honest

question. Have they ever made a record? If so, how many records have they made? Have

they ever, you know, done any other performances that they could prove that

you could put online, or you know, just do whatever? So let's start here, because

this is where the rubber meets the road, Felipe. So if you were looking for

quality information, does that - I know I say this over and over again, guys, but

really, track with me on this. Does that coach sing, and sing well, and in the

style that you want to sound like? And do they display other students doing the

same? And like I said, have they ever toured? Do they know what it's like to

sing, night after night, to where they can prove what their method is saying, that

it's legit. Have they ever made a record? Can you listen to their record and say "I

like that voice - I don't like that voice"? And you can make a qualified,

quantifiable, educated decision on whether or not you feel that guy's

qualified to teach you. This becomes increasingly important in a lot of

disciplines beyond just singing. I mean I wouldn't want to go to a heart doctor

that had never - or I wouldn't want to learn, you know, cardiology from someone

that's never done it before. You know what I mean? So like do the math on all this

stuff. I wouldn't want to go to an economist who doesn't really truly know

how to make money but he's gonna tell me how to spend my money

so this translates across a lot of disciplines. And I hope this information

was helpful. Hey guys! If you like what you heard, please like and subscribe to

my channel. And if you want to get notified when I have a new, cool video

come out, you need to go to my channel and click on this little "Bell" icon and

it will actually notify you every time I have a video come out! Thanks guys!

How To Run Long Distances 💗 JUSTICE - Duration: 1:58.

Today, I'm going to teach you

how to run long distances.

Hi, I'm Noe and today I'm going to

teach you how to run long distances.

First, you need to make sure you dress properly.

Make sure that if it's cold, to wear warm clothes

and if it's hot, to wear cool clothes

so that you won't get overheated.

Make sure you have the proper shoes.

Don't run in sandals or anything like that

because then they'll hurt your feet.

I like to have a light protein snack

about an hour before my run

and I also like to stay hydrated by

taking water before and after my run.

Here are some stretches I like to do before my run

so that my legs won't get too tight.

So first, I do a lunge and then I put

my foot down and stretch my hip.

This will help all that leg get stretched out.

And then I do it on my other leg

and then I do some of these stretches

that stretch my hamstring.

A pike is really good to stretch all

of your under part and you just pull

your feet and lay over.

So those are some of the main stretches

I like to do before running.

So now we want to plan our run.

Make sure you have a route before running

and start out slow and build yourself up.

Take big steps when you run so you're not

always pounding on your feet and pump your arms.

It also helps out your legs.

Make sure to take deep breaths while you run so that

you're not taking short breaths and you can't breathe.

I also like to set a good pace I can keep for a while

so that I don't start out really fast and end up

not being able to keep that pace.

If you get tired, don't stop and wait.

Keep a slow walk, or a fast walk, and

build yourself up back to running.

Challenge yourself each time to run more and more

and have fun with it.

How To Control Your Thoughts Of Self Harm - Duration: 15:29.

Today, we're going to talk about how to control thoughts about self-harm. If you

have ever had any of those thoughts yourself or had someone close to you

with those thoughts, we're going to talk about some tools. And we're going to talk

about some ways that you can overcome that or help those you care about

overcome it. Many of you may know that my wife and I run a residential treatment

center for teen girls. A lot of the young women that come into our program have a

history of self-harm. It's interesting if you look at what's happening in our

society over the last 10. maybe 20 years, it seems like this whole idea of

self-harm has just grown and increased. And it can be a real problem and a real

challenge to people that struggle with this situation. So, today we're going to talk

about some ideas that if you happen to be struggling yourself can help you

overcome those thoughts of self-harm. And the behavior of self-harming. And if

there's someone in your life that you love or care about, then hopefully these

ideas can can help you as well. So we need to look at a couple of things. We

want to lay a foundation for this so that we have a common understanding. And

then, as we go through this, it will give you some ideas of how to make some

changes if you want to. So, the first thing to remember is that you're free to

do whatever you want. If you have self-harm behaviors that you participate

in, you're free to do that. And and nobody can really stop you from

doing that. But here's what we know. So everything we do in life we do for a

reason or we want to do it. And the reason that we do it is because of the

payoff or the outcome that it gives us in our life. And so this box... This box

represents our outcomes in life. So, what is a payoff or what do we get from

the behavior. And so, what is it in life that it drives or creates or outcomes?

It's our behaviors. But then what is it that drives or creates our behaviors?

It's our beliefs. And then our beliefs are created by our thoughts. So in life,

we have events that happen all around us from the day that were born. And these

events, this is important to understand that these events, these things that

happen to us and around us have no meaning. In and of themselves, they don't

mean anything until we attach meaning to them. And the way that we do that is with

our thoughts. And most of our thoughts are taught to us by other people in our

life. And so most of the things that happen to us, we create a meaning based

on the experiences that we have had. And other people in their life and the

things that they have taught us or conditioned us to believe. And so we have

these thoughts. They create our beliefs. These beliefs drive our behavior and our

behavior gives us their outcomes. Now, here's part of the problem with this

is that in our brain, we have the conscious part of our brain and we have

the subconscious part of our brain. Well, 90% of the

time, were in the subconscious part of our brain. Which means we're operating on

autopilot. So, the thoughts and the behaviors that come

the subconscious are things that we've been conditioned to do and we don't even

know oftentimes why we're doing it. In fact, if you had a situation where you've

done something a person asks you, "Why did you do it?" And your response is, "I don't

know." Well, that's an example of a behavior that's been learned and then

when we're in that situation, when we're triggered by an event, an emotion,

anything like that then we just react to it without even thinking about it. And we

tend to repeat and make habits or patterns out of behaviors that work for

us. So, when we have an outcome that benefits us, we tend to do it again. Now,

we want to look back and look at well what is the outcome that we're really

looking for in life. And what I believe is that everything we do, we do because

we want to be happy. So research shows there's two main reasons that we do what

we do. 1 is to obtain pleasure. The other is to avoid pain. To me, they're one

and the same thing which is we don't like where we're at or what we're

experiencing. And so we want to experience something better which is we

want to be happy. So oftentimes in life, we may be in a situation where we're

uncomfortable. We may be feeling sad. We may be feeling lonely, angry. And we don't

like that feeling. And so we're looking for something to change that feeling. And

this is how we create oftentimes, patterns that seem to work because it

gives us the outcome that we want in the short-term but it doesn't benefit us in

a long-term. So maybe, I'm feeling sad, lonely, depressed and somebody offers me

some type of a drug. And I take the drug and that's sad that's the loneliness, the

depression goes away. So, the belief then is that this drug will help me feel

better. And in truth, it does. It helps me feel better for the moment.

But it doesn't address the root cause. But if I'm in my subconscious mind, I'm

not really paying attention to that. All I know is in the moment, this tends to

work for me. And our subconscious is designed to keep us alive and to keep us

safe. So anytime we're in a negative state, who are feeling something that we

don't like our subconscious perceives or sees that as a threat to our well-being

and our subconscious then wants us to feel better. So when we have that immediate

payoff and we feel better or subconscious goes, "Okay, that works. Next

time I feel that way, I'm going to try it again. And if it works then we do it

again." And before long, we have a habit that we're not even really aware of. We

don't know why we're doing it. We're just triggered and then we react. And so,

cutting or self-harm, there's lots of different kinds of self-harm behaviors.

Cutting is probably one of the most common. But there are all kinds of

self-destructive behaviors that I would call harmful. Addiction, drugs, that would

be another self-harm behavior. But so in order to change that, first of all, we

need to realize that again, everything we do we do for a reason. It's not that if

we're engaging in behaviors that are not in our self-interest, that doesn't mean

that I'm not a good person or that I'm a bad person. What it means is that I'm a

person that's in a state of unhappiness or discomfort and I'm looking to achieve

happiness. That's what we all want. So, it has nothing to do with what kind of a

person we are. It's just that, we're a normal person that's looking for a way

to be happy. And based on my knowledge, my thoughts and beliefs, this is what I have

come up with it works for me. Maybe I just haven't come up with anything that

works better yet. And it could be because I've never been taught. It could be

because I just never really even thought about it because

up until now, maybe I realize or I didn't realize that what I was doing was not

working. Because it seemed to be working for me.

So first of all, once we recognize that what we're doing is not giving us the

outcome that we want. So maybe it's a short-term feeling of happiness. But

long-term, I'm feeling more depressed I'm feeling worse about myself. My

relationships with others is getting worse and worse. So, I no longer am

enjoying the outcome. If I want to change my outcome, well obviously, I need to

change my behavior. But here's the... Here's the challenge with this. Is if we've been

conditioned to behave in this way when or triggered, so we have a trigger and

because we've been conditioned, our brain works really really quickly.

We may not even be aware that we're going through this process of thinking

about the trigger, choosing a belief and then behaving. It just seems like the

trigger determines the behavior. And here's the problem of trying to change

our behavior. If you have ever tried to change your behavior in your life, you've

probably experienced of how difficult that is. And that's because in order to

change this behavior, which part of my brain needs to be engaged and operating?

If I'm going to change from what I'm doing then I've got to be in my

conscious part of my brain. But I'm only there about 10% of the time. So,

here's the other problem. Do you know what our average attention span is?

Average attention span is only about 7 seconds. Not very long. Which means

I may recognize that this behavior is not working for me. It's not giving me

the outcome that I want. And I make a decision that I'm going to change it. Well,

how long am I going to stay in my conscious mind and remember that I want to change

it. Only about 7 seconds. And then I'm going to get caught back up in the

day-to-day activities of life. I'm going to be back on autopilot. So, back to my

conditioned behavior. So when I am triggered, again, because I'm here, I'm

going to respond the way that I've always responded. So, if I want to

change these behaviors I need to get in touch with what are my beliefs? What are

the thoughts that are driving the behavior. And I need to identify the

errors in my thoughts and beliefs and replace them with healthier who are

working beliefs that will then change my behavior to healthier behaviors which

will then give me the long-term outcomes that I want.

So, whatever the self-harm behavior is that you may be engaging in, again, you

need to realize that you're doing it for a reason. It's giving you a payoff or a

benefit. It may be you know, if it's... if it's cutting, there's a lot of different

things that that can give a person. It may be a relief from some other pain

that they're feeling. Sometimes it's because I'm not feeling anything at all.

And so, it's a way to feel something. And so, by looking out what is the outcome or

the payoff that I want, now I can go back and say, "Are there different behaviors,

different things that I could do that would give me that same outcome without

the negative long-term effect of that self harming behavior?" So hopefully, this

is helpful to you. We just need to look at first of all, if I've got shame,

connected to this that is affecting my self-worth, it's going to make it more

difficult for me to make this change. So I need to realize first of all that

I'm okay. That all of us are just human beings and we're all trying to figure

this life out. And again, we tend to do what works. Well, when we find out that

what we're doing is no longer working, that's a good thing. That gives us

information that it's time to look at our thoughts and beliefs and identify

what would be more helpful or more effective. So once, I recognize that I'm

okay, that I have value. But I'm struggling

with feelings of depression. Again, I can now look at and say, "Well, what's causing

that depression? Well, it's going to come back to my thoughts and beliefs." So

if I can change my thoughts and beliefs about Who I am and then change my

thoughts and beliefs about the behavior and change the behavior that will give

me a better outcome. So, and if I want to feel, well maybe what I need to do is

begin to engage myself in activities. Because I'm feeling sad and depressed. So

I'm sitting home all of the time. I don't feel like doing anything. I'm isolating

myself from other people. And I'm just turning to the one thing that I know

that allows me to feel. When I recognize that, now I can make a conscious effort

to say, "Okay, I'm going to try and do something different. I'm going to call a

friend or I'm going to get up and go participate in something that I used to

enjoy participating in." And watch and see what happens with that behavior. If that

behavior will give me the same outcome. Now, it may not be as intense. I may need

to practice this a little while to actually get the result that I'm wanting.

But just pay attention because if it's moving me in that direction, then that's

the direction that I want to go. So to wrap this up, just remember that, that all

behavior has meaning. Remember that you are okay. We're all okay. We're all just

trying to figure this out together. The goal is we want to be happy. The

solution to this is not so much of changing this behavior. Because that's

going to be a real challenge. But we want to go back and identify what are the

thoughts and beliefs that are driving that behavior, what's the outcome that

we're really seeking for? And then replace this behavior with a different

behavior that will give us that outcome without the negative outcomes of the

behavior that is really harmful to us. Because the truth is there's no way that

we can be totally and completely happy. Whenever we are behaving in ways that

are harming ourself. So thanks for watching today. Hopefully this

Fallout 76 Building - Metal Wall Vs Brick Wall (Testing Wall Durability) - Duration: 5:18.

hey guys welcome back to another fallout 76 video if you haven't already please

make sure you to join the discord the link is below we have a quite a strong

for a same-sex community and then already of over 1,500 members now

today's video comes from a comment on one of my last videos on which walls

are the strongest so we thought we test us as you can see we have all five types

of wolves the wood bomb sheet metal breath and steel walls know all we're

gonna do is fall for frag grenades against each wall it's a very simple

test just to show exactly how much should drops from a frag grenade

obviously will change if we were to use many nukes everything here was just to

give a quick example after that we're gonna use a high level melee weapon to

show how much it takes to actually destroy those structures as well so it's

quite a jump and we'll get through it one by one now first up we have the

standard wooden wall which everyone starts with and the bomb said no the

bomb say can be purchased by vendors i've here that you can actually find it

as well you can see already the grenades of mashing through these quite quickly

and you'll be surprised when the male Americans not later as well no it's not

gonna take a lot to you fooled us at all no people probably wondering what what's

the point in this no is he actually smash a base up if you need a super

mutant camp or federal Gil camp and you're using grenades they throw out

your base trust me it's happened to me plenty of times the place where I build

up with both sets who roam this area and I've come back from a base in quite a

bad shape so you see from the four grenades there

the walls are quite bad now we move on to the sheet metal and the brac now

theoretically these should last a lot longer than the wood so will fire four

of these as well we are finding a problem where it creates a collection a

little better so you'll see more than four being thrown but only four hours

and they blow up so bail out and main on your watching now it's key to know that

the brac set is also postures by vendors I haven't found it anywhere yet I may be

wrong if you know what to find the actual blueprint for itself or the plan

courtesy let me know in the comments below however so far I've not managed to

find it a new waistline itself I haven't finished every mission so

there's quite possible you build together so you can see already

these aren't taking as much damage as a wooden walls so the fede is there but

they're taking quite a lot of damage for what I would say a grenade you do so you

can see the very much probably felt higher now moving onto the steel wall no

that should really hold up against the grenades but surprisingly it takes quite

a bite damage in my opinion for a grenade anyway for me a grenade should

even really touched us it should be a non-existent for me it should be more

money acting missiles they should use for metal steel walls but again these

are just pummeling through they aren't take as much damage as the wooden walls

granted and the tick is slightly less damage than the brick is well so yes the

steel walls are stronger but the still taking considerable damage from our

grenade in my opinion anyway now what we do we take a melee weapon when you take

a super sledge this is a high level super sledge and when you take out the

wooden wall to see how much it takes no so for group frag grenades and two hats

with that teacup wooden wall away they're mirror to the bomb set let's

give it two heads again so they're not very strong so if you're in an area

which is highly popular for AI I would not recommend using them now moving on

to the myth the sheet metal walls and the brick walls these are wood for

grenades as well so it's no taking more as two hats were for melee weapon three

politics x45 yes sex hats no mirror to the brick wall at the for billions as

well yes and all this particularly doesn't great but it's a very simple

experience as I was walking you can see the melee weapon as taking quite a bit

of damage offer but it's taking longer to do so this is obviously a lot

stronger then shemale wall no and feed it the steel wall should hold up to

melee weapon very well but as you can see it's just cutting through it as well

no don't get me wrong this is a high level

weapon from le but a lot of people that live will know as well so guys this was

a quick experiment just to show you exactly the durability of all the walls

and the game at the Manor no as I said this is so when you are building and a

heavy populated AI area you know exactly what you're going to come against a

scotch beast as I've proven melts through steel walls as well so as I

mentioned before if you haven't already joining us cord the link is below we do

a daily giveaways for steam games and they also do meetups and playthroughs

for any quests anything else it's very very active at the moment we've also got

a trading room in there as well so guys fine stopping by and I will catch you in

Why choose JumpCloud over competitors? | JumpCloud Customer Story - Duration: 2:15.

Working venture capital, I was constantly exposed to new

technologies and new ways of thinking. That's one of the upsides to work in VC,

is you sort of stay on that pulse. So I am accustomed to trying new things in

that regard. So when JumpCloud came along, or I found out about JumpCloud I

should say, I was about halfway through a cloud migration strategy and one of the

pieces that was still kind of loose in my plan was Directory Service. And what

is that and where do I put it and is it really still Microsoft® Active Directory® (AD),

which didn't make sense to me because half of my fleet at that point was OSX.

I was actively looking for a new Directory Service, and it needed to be Cloud

because I was no longer going to build out an on-prem data center. And I was no

longer going to host servers in a data center anywhere. I really believed in SaaS

and Cloud. So that was my mission is to find that, and I found JumpCloud.

We invested in a company called OneLogin while I was at scale, and they had one

component for sign-on, but they didn't have Linux and they didn't have Windows.

So when I really looked at the landscape, Microsoft was a partial

solution, OneLogin was a partial partial solution,

Okta® didn't offer anything–really it was only JumpCloud in the sea of of partial

directories that allowed me to actually impact OS X, Linux, and Windows. So it

solved all those needs.

What is Modbus and How does it Work? - Duration: 8:58.

In the real world of the device to device process automation communication,

a dialogue or conversation between devices occurs systematically,

in many cases, over different types of communication networks and in different languages.

Depending on the process automation equipment manufacturer,

a very specific or proprietary language is used

or it may be a language that is commonly open to the industry.

It is these open protocols many manufacturers adapt

to easily integrate their products in a market.

An "Open protocol" means the specifications are published

and may be used by anyone freely or by license.

Open protocols are usually backed by a combination of corporations,

user groups, professional societies, and governments.

This provides users with a much wider choice of devices

or systems that can be utilized to meet specific applications.

Advantages of open protocols include support by multiple manufacturers,

software vendors, and install/service organizations,

active community groups for support,

the ability to stay current and add capabilities in the future.

One of the most common automation communication protocols

of connecting industrial electronic devices used today is Modbus.

In this lesson, we will discuss what Modbus communication protocol is

and the types of Modbus communication used in the industry.

This way you never miss another one!

The Modbus communication protocol is the oldest

and by far the most popular automation protocol

in the field of process automation and SCADA

(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).

Knowing how to create Modbus based networks

is essential for any electrical technician

and engineer working in these occupation fields.

Being able to integrate devices from different manufacturers

is a skill that is in demand

and will ultimately make you more valuable and marketable in the industry.

Modbus is a communications protocol

published by Modicon in 1979

for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Modicon is now owned by Schneider Electric.

Modbus provides common language

for devices and equipment to communicate with one another.

For example, Modbus enables devices on a system

that measures temperature and humidity connected on the same network

to communicate the results to a supervisory computer or PLC.

And the development and update of Modbus protocols

have been managed by the Modbus Organization.

The Modbus Organization is an association of users and suppliers

of Modbus-compliant devices.

Several versions of the Modbus protocol exist for the serial port

and Ethernet and the most common are Modbus RTU,

Modbus ASCII, Modbus TCP and Modbus Plus.

Modicon published the Modbus communication interface

for a multidrop network based on a master/slave architecture.

Communication between the Modbus nodes is achieved

with send request and read response type messages.

Modbus is an open standard that describes

the messaging communication dialog.

Modbus communicates over several types of physical media

such as serial RS-232, RS-485, RS-422 and over Ethernet.

The physical media will be selected at the time when you purchase the devices.

The original Modbus interface ran on RS-232 serial communication,

but most of the later Modbus implementations use RS-485

because it allowed longer distances,

higher speeds and the possibility of multiple devices on a single multi-drop network.

Master-Slave Modbus communication over serial RS-485 physical media

showing two-wire transmit and receive connections.

On simple interfaces like RS485 or RS232,

the Modbus messages are sent in plain form over the network

and the network will be dedicated to only Modbus communication.

However, if your network requires multiple heterogeneous devices

using a more versatile network system like TCP/IP over ethernet,

the Modbus messages are embedded in Ethernet packets

with the format prescribed for this physical interface.

So in this case, Modbus and other types of mixed protocols can

co-exist at the same physical interface at the same time.

The main Modbus message structure is peer-to-peer.

Modbus is able to function on both point-to-point and multidrop networks.

Modbus devices communicate using a master-slave (client-server for Ethernet) technique

in which only one device can initiate transactions (called queries).

The other devices respond by supplying the requested data to the master,

or by taking the action requested in the query.

A slave is any peripheral device such as an I/O transducer, valve, network drive,

or other measuring types of devices which processes information and

sends its response message to the master using Modbus.

Masters can address individual slaves or

initiate a broadcast message to all slaves.

Slaves return a response to all message queries addressed to them individually,

but do not respond to broadcast messages.

Slaves do not initiate messages on their own

and only respond to message queries transmitted from the master.

The master's query will consist of a slave address (or broadcast address),

a function code with a read or write data command to the slave,

along with the write command data

if a write command was initiated by the master,

and an error checking field.

The error checking is a value the master or slave creates

at the beginning of the transmission or response and then checked

when the message is received to verify the contents are correct.

A slave's response consists of fields confirming it received the request,

the data to be returned, and an error checking data.

If no error occurs, the slave's response contains the data as requested.

If an error occurs in the message query received by the slave,

or if the slave is unable to perform the action requested,

the slave will return an exception message as its response.

The error check field of the slave's message frame

allows the master to confirm that the contents of the message are valid.

In this video you learned about what Modbus communication protocol is

and the types of Modbus communication used in the industry.

In the next video, we will discuss the characteristics

of how Modbus communication protocol works between devices.

Growth Mindset: Why you need to value the PROCESS (not just the results) - Duration: 2:42.

Decades of research into the art of high performance has shown us that high performers are made

not born.

And we get this when it comes to our kids.

So for instance, if you have children and you are putting them into a new sport or you're

putting them into piano lessons, you have probably heard yourself say - or maybe you

heard this as a kid growing up - ake sure that you practice, practice makes perfect.

Makes total sense, we get it - when it applies to kids.

But for many ambitious, goal-oriented adults, the idea of practice kind of floats right

out of our heads.

We sometimes think that we should be great at something right away.

We think that we need to get results right away and we're preaching to our kids about

how instant gratification is wrong and bad.

But we want instant gratification.

So we want to do our first panel presentation and nail it immediately, and if we don't nail

it immediately we say: well I guess I'm just not a great speaker.

Or we start hiring staff and building a team, and maybe our team isn't as aligned as it

should be.

Maybe our meetings aren't as efficient as they should be.

Maybe we're finding that we're not yet able to translate what we have in here into instructions

and processes that are good enough for our team to follow.

And you might say to yourself 'Oh I guess I'm just not cut out to be a leader of people.'.

Well that's an example of a really fixed mindset approach to growth.

One of the things that I have seen from working with high performing leaders is that they

get that high performance is all about, yes having goals and yes setting outcomes that

you want to achieve, but then releasing those outcomes and actually staying primarily focused

on the process and being willing to practice your skills so that ultimately you can master

them and then of course at that point the results and the outcome basically take care

of themselves.

So the takeaway for you is, whatever you're doing, whatever goals you're going after,

yes set them, have them, but devote yourself to a love of the process, not an attachment

to the results.

Now let's get to the main part of our video

We never expect an accident to happen at home – until it does.

But why do these accidents catch us by surprise?

The home is where we feel safest, and maybe we let our guard down.

However, a millisecond of complacency can lead to a lifetime of pain.

In the UK in 2007, almost 2.7 million people were injured at home.

In the USA, accidents are the number one cause of death for children and young adults, and

almost half of these accidents happened in the home according to the National Safety

Council.

Studies by the NSA show that while accidents can happen in all of our rooms, one room is

potentially more deadly than all of the others.

Can you guess which room that is?

That's what we'll find out today, in this episode of the Infographics Show, The Most

Dangerous Places in the Home.

Not all homes are equal.

Each home will have its own catalog of risk factors depending on where it is, how it was

built, how well it is maintained, and the age and awareness of the occupants.

For example, an apartment on the 30th floor may have a dangerous balcony, and a country

home may have a rapid river flowing through the garden.

Children and the elderly are obviously more at risk for accidents than the middle aged

at home.

A mentally ill, depressed, or drug-addicted occupant has an even higher accident risk.

The National Safety Council states that there were 33,000 deaths and 8,000,000 serious injuries

that happened in the home in 2002.

That's one death every 16 minutes and one serious injury every 4 seconds for that year.

The leading causes of death and suffering in the home are falling over, toxins, suffocation,

and smoke inhalation.

Poisoning alone caused the deaths of 12,500 people in 2002 in the United States, so watch

out what you ingest while rifling through that medicine cabinet.

Number 5.

The bedroom.

This is probably the safest room in the home.

But babies do die from accidental crib death.

If firearms are kept in the bedroom, the risk of that room being the most dangerous is multiplied

dramatically.

Electrical fires can occur in any of the rooms using electrical equipment, and the bedroom

is no exception.

Number 4.

The living room.

This room is reasonably safe with rugs, sofas, and no real immediate hazards.

However, what might seem harmless enough could be a killer.

The sharp corner of a coffee table might become a deadly weapon if you fall down head first

on it.

The accident risk goes up if one is a smoker and has a tendency to fall asleep while smoking

in a flammable armchair.

Temporary ornamentations such as Christmas trees can occasion festive hazards with all

those electric cables, which are often cheaply made, hanging around a flammable tree.

One electrical short or an overloaded socket and that dried out pine tree covered with

paper decorations can easily catch fire and gift the residents with a Christmas they will

never forget.

Then there's number 3, the garden and the garage.

Power tools and lawn mowers can be deadly in incompetent hands.

Make sure you have power breakers installed.

Lawn mower-related deaths account for 0.09 deaths in 1 million deaths in the USA.

The country with the most lawn mower- related deaths is Moldova with 0.45 per 1 million

deaths.

Number 2.

The kitchen.

The kitchen can be a dangerous place when the stove is burning.

Burning oil left in a pan can be a potential disaster causing what the British call chip

fat fires.

These fires can spread through the home fast.

When oil heats up, it can catch on fire fast and be difficult to put out.

A wet cloth or tea towel is the best remedy for a pan full of burning oil.

Turn off the heat and control the flames with a wet rag.

Throwing water on the grease fire may only spread it.

Beware of boiling water too.

More than 100,000 people in the US every year go to the emergency room due to scalding injuries.

Hot water causes more than 34 deaths each year.

Then there's the danger of leaving appliances with the gas turned on and expiring from the

fumes or the exposed naked flame.

The kitchen is full of other disasters waiting to happen.

In the kitchen, you'll find enough chemicals and cleaning fluids to satisfy any proficient

poisoner.

These need to be kept out of the reach of inquisitive children.

Then you have knives and sharp objects aplenty.

Heavy pans in overhead cabinets and slippery floors due to cooking grease spillage can

also cause your kitchen to become a potential deathtrap.

Then there are those tiny and invisible killers.

Bacteria in uncooked meat can spread onto uncooked foods such as salads.

Bacteria also breeds in cleaning sponges and cloths.

They usually only cause infections and stomach problems, but bacterial infections can be

serious for the very young, very old, or pregnant women.

Keep your kitchen clean and tidy and watch your stove while cooking.

So what's the most dangerous room in the house?

While the kitchen can be a fire disaster waiting to happen, it turns out the riskiest room

in the house is actually, at number 1, the bathroom.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year around 235,000 people

in the United States over the age of 15 visit emergency rooms because of bathroom-related

injuries.

About 14% of those are admitted for an overnight stay.

A third of these injuries happen while bathing or showering.

You can slip, fall, and die in the bathtub, making this the most dangerous place in the

home.

But that isn't all.

You have a whole plethora of sharp objects like razors, scissors, and tweezers in the

bathroom.

This room is where over-the-counter medicines and prescription drugs are stored along with

super strength cleaning products and hair dye.

Medicine misuse accounts for around 500,000 poisonings each year in the US.

Bleach and ammonia mixed together can create a deadly gas.

Peroxide used for hair coloring can be used to manufacture deadly bombs.

Whatever you do, keep those electric devices out of the bathroom.

A radio or a hair dryer falling into the tub with you in it is a sure fast track to the

pearly gates if not an impossibly easy way to pick up some shocking first degree injuries.

Who knew how many mundane household objects are secretly waiting to kill you?!

Luckily, you can cut down the risk by making sure you always have clean, fresh air with

FilterEasy air filters; make sure you give them a try today by clicking the link in the

description!

So, what's the most dangerous accident you've ever had at home?

How To Cope With Disappointment - Duration: 10:25.

So it didn't work. It all fell apart. Didn't turn out the way you wanted to?

Get ready because disappointments creeping in. So here, I'm going to train you

on how to deal and cope with this disappointment. So it does not ruin your

day tomorrow.

Okay, it didn't work out, did it? Ah, you know how this happens and then didn't

turn out the way you wanted to. Your thoughts go crazy and those emotions

come up and now you find yourself just diving into this weird pool of

disappointment. Now, it's totally cool to be disappointment just for a while but

what happens is is when disappointment starts to grow. Because when

disappointment starts to grow, you are going to start having other problems. So,

how do you deal with disappointment? How do you get through this? So it doesn't

consume you for days and days and weeks and weeks. Because when disappointment

gets too big, it's actually going to create more experiences to be

disappointed about. It's a dangerous emotion when it's not

managed very well. So my intention right now is to train you on how to work

through this disappointment so it does not facilitate and create additional

experiences that can keep you down. Because everybody experiences

disappointment. I experience disappointment, you do. But how do we

process it? I... Over the last 10 years of my life, if I had not learned how to

process disappointment, it would have just smothered me. If you're an

entrepreneur or a goal setter or even a dad or a husband, you have experienced

so much disappointment. But if you can process it quickly, you can be right back

up and get going. If you're somebody who's kind of dragging because it's

really heavy on you, this is perfect for you.

Now, another reason to pay attention to what I'm going to show you here is

you're going to meet people who were stuck in disappointment. Like they literally... It

just like their feet are just stuck knee-deep in the just the cesspool of

disappointment and they can't get out. So, if this isn't for you, watch it because

you're going to be talking to somebody soon that's gonna be struggling with this. And

you can help them. So get educated in this and help somebody up out because

it's not a good day when we're just stuck in disappointment. Okay, so what do

you do first? Whenever you have a disappointing moment, instead of looking

at everything that didn't work which can just literally be endless, what you do is

you turn thinking to go literally, "What did you learn from this?" And you might be

a little sarcastic at the beginning. You know, where you say things like, "Oh, I'll

tell you what I learned. I'm never doing that again." You know, at first it's a

little sarcastic. That's going to come out of you. But that's a good start.

And even if you're kind of just throwing statements around like, "I learned never

to call that person again or I learned never to do that I learned to never have

goals." Let all that sarcastic kind of heat come out of you. Because you're

still pointing yourself in a good direction. If you can start to talk this

way, even if it's hot heated and not all really positive,

you're turning your mind to look for what you've learned. That's when you turn

disappointment into an experience that you're going to gain from. And that's what

it's all about. You're going to have the emotion but we got to turn the head in

the thinking into a better direction. So you start talking about what did you

learn. And the next one is what did you gain? And you probably going to think,

"Nothing. This totally fell apart. I gain nothing."

But still keep asking yourself the question, "What did you gain from this?"

Because there is something there. You know, Edison in his inventions. If he

didn't look for what he gained, even if it was tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bits of

information. If he didn't look for what he gained, he would not have kept going.

These are 2 reasons that way if we can turn our head think this way. We can be

the inventors. We can invent a life we've always wanted to live. So what did you

learn? What you gained? Next, you're going to ask yourself what will you do next time?

And while you're in the depth of disappointment is when you're literally

the smartest bout this. If you wait till you

come up out of disappointment to figure out what you're going to do next time, you

will have forgot all the sensitive things that just went wrong. When I'm in

my disappointment slump, "Man, I'm writing in my journal like crazy of the things

I'm going to do different next time." Because it's so apparent, you're so aware,

you're so in tune to the mistake. You're actually becoming really smart. Because

people not only want to know what to do in life they also want to know what not

to do. So you as a person, get smart right now. If you're in a place of learning

what not to do, it's making you so smart for what to do next time. So start

writing it down. Make a list. Okay next, what worked and what didn't work? What

worked, what didn't work? And what I do is I draw a line right down the middle of

paper. Right down the middle of paper and I start making a list of what didn't

work and what did work. And I sit there and bounce back and forth because your

ideas. And your thoughts during disappointment are just scrambled but if

you can begin to organize your thoughts. You start to come up and out of

disappointment. Because now, you're taking what worked and what didn't work instead

they all go on ping-pong back and forth in your head.

You're creating 2 lists. Organize your thoughts on paper like this. it'll help

you gain some balance and some self-control. Next, 5 lessons learned.

You know up here it's like, what did you learn? But I like to take it and go, "Okay,

I'm going to narrow this down to 5 lessons learned." If I can pull 5 super

clear lessons learned from every disappointing situation that I've had,

boy I'm getting really smart along the way. So, up here, these are the things

that you want to take a look at of being able to change your thinking. But this is

like the work. Make your list of what worked, what didn't work. And narrow it

down to 5 lessons learned. Now, I have a file on my computer that I keep all my

lessons learn on. Number 3, express yourself. If you're

disappointed, say you're disappointed. If you're super disappointed, you may need

to go for a walk and rant. Completely just complain and moan and groan and

throw everybody under the bus. During that conversation. But just be sure

nobody's listening. Nobody's listening. You're not you're not expressing

yourself to trash on people right in front of you.

But you do need to go for a walk and express everything that went wrong and

who's driving you crazy and who didn't do their part and who dropped the ball

but express yourself. If you leave all that expressions stuck in your chest,

someday, it's going to come out at the wrong time on the wrong person. And as long as

you have that all gummed up inside you right here and you don't express it, what

happens is you get to carry disappointment into tomorrow. And into

the next day. And because you're still holding on to it, it's going to stick with

you. So number 3... And it is a have to, a must. To express yourself. But not to

the people yet. You need to burn off some steam before you call them. And you know,

where people make their mistake is when they're really struggling, they're really

disappointed about something, they give right on the phone and they just blast

those people. And then what happens is you got yourself a mess. Why? Why do you

need to unload all your emotions on somebody else? Are you just trying to

destroy them? You're trying to like stab them in the chest with those emotions?

You're just going to hurt them. What...? What happened with some miscommunication? But

you go burn off all your steam because some of that steam comes from old stinky

experiences from years ago. It's not just this current situation. It's a bunch of

old stuff all flying out at the same time. So, don't go straight to the person

and load on them. Go for a walk. Vent. Talk out loud, rant

out loud, clear it off your chest, get it off your shoulders then go have the

conversation with the person or the people or that... Or review the situation. But

don't forget number 3. This is how I move and manage through disappointment.

I'm not going to get stuck by it and neither are you. No longer are you going to

get stuck by disappointment. You can process it better now. You know what to

do. But do something about it today. Don't wait til tomorrow, don't put it off till

tomorrow. Handle it today. You'll sleep better tonight. You'll wake up with a

better fresh view about tomorrow. And this is perfect timing for you to click

How does JumpCloud compare to Auth0? | JumpCloud Customer Story - Duration: 2:08.

so Auth0, we actually use it at The Last Mile currently and it's got some

interesting abilities. Like, for example, geofencing via IP address.

So if we wanted to control access to the LMS via Auth0

from a certain prison, we can do that. However, we are considering lifting Auth0

and replacing it with JumpCloud. And the reason for that is if I already have

Students in JumpCloud, then that's my central, single, authoritative directory. And

if I can leverage LDAP with LMS, which I can (we use Canvas) I can get it all

integrated and use provisioning and streamline this process even further –

really eliminating the need for additional steps and creating users and

accessing specific tracks and groups. It goes back to the core mission of

automation and scale. I need to use as few components that are required to get

the job done, but I need to do it securely. And I think that anytime I

remove a component, I remove a variable and that's good for security; you reduce

your threat surface. So I think ultimately we will end up pulling Auth0

out and just leverage JumpCloud as the authoritative directory. Both on

machine access and access to the LMS or any other application that they would need.

What To Expect At Your Disability Pension Denial Trial – New Jersey Attorney Sam Gaylord explains - Duration: 2:34.

You applied for a disability pension and you were denied.

Your matter is now going to trial.

Do you want to know what that's going to be like?

Join me and I'll provide you that valuable information.

Hi, I'm Sam Gaylord, Disability Litigator in the State of New Jersey, handling matters

in the areas of Worker's Compensation, Social Security Disability and Disability Pension

Appeals.

You applied for your disability pension and the pension board said that you weren't disabled,

and so your matter is now going to have a trial at the Office of Administrative Law.

Well, the first thing to know is that trial is a little bit informal than anything I'm

sure you've seen on TV.

The first thing is that it's an office of administrative law, which means it's an administrative

law judge.

There is no jury and there won't be any witnesses that are sitting in the balcony watching you

as you testify.

It's more of an informal process.

However, you do get sworn in and matters are taken, or testimony is taken under oath, but

again, the important thing is to know that there is no jury and nobody is going to be

judging you as you testify.

The only people in the room, in fact, will be the judge, yourself, your attorney, and

the attorney representing the pension board.

There is not stenographer.

There is no jury.

The answer is, the whole matter is being recorded, so you don't have to worry about any of that.

This is not an episode of Law and Order or Perry Mason, and no one is going to say, "Isn't

it true that you were somewhere and something."

It's very informal and the idea of the trial is to basically talk about why it is that

you can't go back to work, what happened to you, and how the disability affects you from

performing your specific job.

If you found that information useful, go to our website.

There's plenty of videos and other written materials that talk about this topic.

If you still have questions, call 609-771-8611.
