Waching daily Jan 28 2019

Hey there, it's Annabelle.

I promised that I would talk about my weavings a bit,

and also about my other projects, but I thought I would start on

my weaving samples, cus I have them all here in a bag.

Just to give a brief, on those who don't understand what I study,

or don't know my major, I'm doing Textile Design,

and the curriculum could be weaving,

screen printing, digital embroidery,

within that, there are different levels,

so you have 1, 2, and then eventually the industrial level,

which I have yet to take.

in our final year, is when we do our own degree project,

kind of pursue what ever we want, and kick off our art practice.

so everything here is from the class where we start weaving on dobby looms.

and it's no longer completely hand operated- like the jack looms.

so we draft on the computer,

depending on what kind of draft- but the gist of it is...

you're looking at a graph paper.

the filled in square means the intersection of warp and weft.

it could be different depending on what structure it is,

finally, designing on the computer,

makes it a lot faster,

imagine, filling in a square with your pencil, versus just clicking once.

in general, you're still designing the entire structure yourself,

and the only reason we use a computer is because

we have so many harnesses, that when we press the one pedal,

the computer connects our draft, translates it to the loom,

and tells it which harness to pick up.

one of the first week's,

was this.

last year we started out with every student having their own loom,

but for this class, there aren't enough for all 12 of us,

so we have to share. every loom is fixed up with different colored yarn,

so that way we can really vary our samples,

you can see, these 2..

it was made on one, because, the warp

is the same turquoise color.

I use cut up fabric here, to make clown fish.

I thought it would be fun and also- this fabric was left over from my final last year.

I really like to reuse and save all of my scraps

here I was inspired by peacock colors,

mainly because I came across

some yarn at michael's that ..

just made sense for me to mimic that feather-like chevron,

so sometimes, the back is nicer than the front. or they're equally interesting.

but this one is not too different,

the 2nd week, I didn't love this, because I was working on the other looms,

and the tie up was completely different, which means that

I can in no way do this structure when the tie up of all the yarns

are in the block tie up.

I just wanted to see what it would be like to mix some matte yarns, with metallic,

rayon- but.. not too...

..special.

I don't like this color at all.

the loom I signed up for was grey, and I hate this color combination,

but I tried to make the best of it,

I wove in some of that holographic cardstock,

and then the other ones we glance over- but it's not super remarkable, so I don't have much to say about them

this one's also from week 1,

and it's the cut fabric. so you can see the edge of the satin is a little bit frayed,

and gives it that fuzzy look, and this was inspired by goldfish.

by also using different materials that are the same color,

it looks like a little gradient, and i wanted to get that sort of fish gill texture.

it just overall looks like stripes.

you can kind of make out....

that in this sample, it's prairie.

but I didn't want it to have a very very familiar, typical, cat shape, so..

I know she's very slender, and kind of weird looking,

and that's why..

this shape,

on my crew neck was inspired by her.

it was just a funny little weaving,

but you can see why it's a little bit more rectangular because,

I had to cut it short since it's really easy to make mistakes.

there's a really big margin for error,

you just miss ONE thread, and it's really obvious,

and it's more obvious in the back.

when..

certain ones, carry through.

and it's not supposed to. right here..

or right here, there's an error.

um, right here...

but...

it's just really difficult sometimes, because especially when you're sharing machines,

the tensions are off, so when you hand operate it,

even though the computer helps you lift the harness,

you're still actually physically weaving it.

it still lifts, and you're still putting yarn through as you saw in my vlogs.

something that was really fun was when we got to double sided weave structures.

and this one,

is on the block draw, which

is why it has to be geometric, I can't really make..

curves, or anything organic.

I found this stretchy spandex fabric, with metallic, and it shimmers.

and on the back, it's the negative, basically.

so you can tell what I was going for, it's like

city at night,

and then city in the day, kind of.

except..

these are clouds,

and then now I don't know.. what that is.

kind of a boring pattern of just strawberries.

I tried to make them more interesting by having them confronted instead of all facing one direction,

and staggered,

but it still looks pretty basic.

kind of more interesting on the back, because you see the negative and then,

a bigger stripe

pattern..

I wove with

super metallic yarn,

and then.. matte black .

just to see what the double weave was like.

this one was from a photo of a forest fire.

you could see i really lost the over all pattern,

and it recedes into just a basic stripe,

like the texture's interesting, just because I chose to weave with a fuzzy material.

but you really don't get much more, and that's not always bad,

but I think..

because it was my intention to do more,

that's what happened.

so here I found,

really thick, bright cord.

and then, we had some chenille, it was like..

really bright green, and fuzzy,

so of course, the complimentary- it reminds me of some sort of trident gum,

it is a double weave,

you really can't tell though, because it looks the same just cus of the pattern.

but..

this is pink,

but then on this side, it's green.

this one's also double,

I just really like experimenting with materials I think-

this one was

tulle- you know, what you see in formal dresses, or tutus,

yeah, I cut that up- it had some paint on it,

and then glitter, so then when I wove it,

with this pattern, I wanted to get...

the essence of coral, because I saw a photo of very pink coral

and then the dark negative space,

here are a couple that I don't really like at all.

just because..

i was getting the hang of it,

this one is okay- this took way too long.

cus I was using tapestry method, meaning I would hand place every single one of these color changes,

and then cut them behind here.

having fun with shiny yarn.

and..it didn't amount to anything.

but sometimes, it doesn't!

and sometimes it does.

this one as well-

I was having a bad, frustrating night. not.. not really

going through with anything I planned,

even if you work at a draft and it's perfectly

structurally sound,

when you finally weave it out,

either the color doesn't work, the yarn, or the material doesn't work,

or it looks not like you expected,

or it's too smooshed, because..

the thickness of the yarn also effects how your image will come out.

you can tell there are some mistakes though-

I'm not gonna actively point them out,

but if you see them, you seen them.

and this one of pickles?

this one was double weave,

pickles is one of Tyler's favorite things,

so he was super excited about the idea of me weaving something about pickles.

so I kinda came out with this pop-arty

random pickles weave.

I'm not sure which side I like better,

this one's kinda typical, this one's kinda more interesting..

and when my professor saw it, she's like "I can't stand pickles"

then we moved onto another weave structure,

matelasse, it's a different kind of tie up, and

when I first practiced with them,

again- you really have to get the hang of it,

just because you operate something successfully, doesn't mean that anything you make might be effective.

these tiny little things that just..gray out,

from afar,

if you look up close, they're intricate,

this one was inspired by art deco,

and this one was inspired by windows,

when I went to *palacio de cristal,

in spain,

and that is not a good pronunciation-

I cannot pronounce.. spanish words

but I redid this one in the end.

so some of the tie ups are mirrored, which is why you see

so this one is a mirrored one,

but

it is a second rendition of this one

because it completely gets lost in how complicated and tiny it is,

as I start to turn it, it turns blue because you see the tiny warp coming through

I went to europe with my mom late summer last year,

these were inspired by the architecture that we went to see,

by gaudi. directly inspired by the sculptures on the roof top,

I think this was meant to go this way, so you can tell I was trying to get that shadow to light

with the curves,

we are already near the end..

and for our final collection, we had to pick one idea

during the festivals or whatnot, we always watched the chinese opera,

and things like that

and there was an act called "bian-lian"

which is "changing faces",

and the concept of the whole act is

distraction, so that's why the helmets are very ornate,

and we have really big winged sleeves,

with fans

I love how vibrant they are, and they inspired my color palette,

as well as

the motifs that I came up with,

so I really like this one because of how playful it is,

I used pipe cleaner,

you can see the back here- it's not as interesting because,

the

yarn I used here,

is metallic, and then this one is not.

with this one, I was trying to get the idea of

the mask,

being concealed,

and you look closely,

there are eyes here,

& originally I wanted to go back with some foil,

like gold leaf, that sort of thing-

I didn't get the time to, but I still can. still free to do what ever I want to this.

this one is similar, and the same concept,

of kind of..

'now you see me, now you don't'

over here you can see the eyes, the nose, and then I meant to have them basically overlapping,

but then,

it kind of..

merges into one..

one mask.

the back looks pretty interesting as well,

just really fun,

this one was the last thing I did, and it's so silly.

I wanted to use this photo, with all of the masks hanging up,

turns out to look like frkn sesame street,

and..

I would've gone longer if I had the time,

but this one already took me..4 hours? maybe longer? I can't really remember.

so I was using tapestry, putting in materials like pipe cleaner again,

and using different sorts of yarns,

this one was focusing on details, on the robe, I believe.

and it was done on the royal blue warp,

which shows up over here,

and I did tapestry with loose, red-dyed fiber.

if I just put it all the way across, then it would pop through in between

but I wanted to define the circles- kind of looks like

when I was little, I would design birthday cakes for fun,

I would draw them, and I always made this sort of crazy thing.

like swirly frosting, and then fruits,

looks like that, but the color doesn't go.

and... the last thing I haven't shown,

this was in a vlog, where I was talking about drying this,

it just made my other metallic yarns loose and wanna fall out,

so it looks a bit sloppy.

but I'm glad that I tried,

to do some finishing techniques

no- this is actually the last one. It looks super short,

and I'll explain why,

but it's my favorite one. you can see a dragon mask,

over here,

and then you have this weird

mickey mouse looking thing,

I was meant to cut this.

cut this part, to reveal a U-shape.

but I enjoy the size variation,

so the back looks like this,

I used a lot more tapestry techniques,

like this triangle,

if I didn't do that, then it would continue all the way

another thing my professor pointed out is that the top

is a little bit longer, just a tiny bit longer.

when I was operating the loom, I was using the beater,

which is the comb that presses all the yarns back,

with every row, I was beating it harder,

and then in the last row, I was a little looser, cus I was realizing how squooshed it was becoming,

that was a mistake, because if you want continuity,

you don't just change it halfway through, you either have them all loose, or all squooshed,

but when it came off the tension,

it also kind of shrunk up, so it's a little bit shorter than I'd want it to be.

I think I have left out random little things,

and there's always these,

you know, practice sample rows, where you throw together different materials,

to see how it works with the color,

this is just what I showed you,

took me maybe..

2 hours to figure out how to weave, or get it exactly how I like,

I think a lot of people wonder, 'how does this apply to the industry?'

so basically, not only is it in apparel,

you know, woven fabrics in apparel, are in furniture,

interior or exterior textiles, but-

in science, for smart textiles, like inventing fire retardant blankets,

space suits,

seat belts- they're woven,

if you're asking me why I wanted to do textile design,

I was choosing between apparel and textiles,

and,

I enjoy the texture, and surface, pattern and color,

a lot more than the...

3D composition and construction of a garment,

so that's why I didn't do apparel.

but how that affects me as a designer, for example,

if I were to graduate and want to start a clothing line,

then, I think I put a lot more emphasis on

exactly what materials I am knitting with- like I am not gonna use acrylic,

um, a lot of plastics,

that's that, I hope it was interesting,

informational, if you have any more questions, I'll try my best to answer them,

and now I'm gonna have to rush off,

I wanted to make it to the post office, but

it's closed, again. and it's storming,

cars rushing by outside- I'm sure that you heard.

prairie is here with me right now!

she was sleeping on all of my weaving samples,

because she just loves to get on top of things,

that you normally wouldn't sleep on.

I would buy her a bed,

but she would choose that instead.

oh! that rhymed.

so we're gonna sign off together,

and if you were interested in this crewneck, I believe it's still on sale until the end of the month,

because I had that flash sale last year,

and a lot of people ended up missing out and then emailing to get on the waitlist.

so I did activate it again,

so the campaign is still going on, but I haven't been actively advertising or

trying to promote it, just because, my favorite thing is just to talk to you

in the comments, and to have this community,

you don't have to feel bad if you can't afford it, or you just don't like it,

it's not..

I don't take it the wrong way, AT ALL, if you just don't want it.

I made it for those who do want it!

it's prairie,

and..just me I guess

this one is me, that's her glaring at me.

sending you my love,

the sun set behind me!

while I was talking

thank you for being here.

bye!

as you can see,

prairie loves me a lot more than she did before,

I've been reading a lot,

and she would just cuddle up on my chest for the whole 2 hours.

she seems..kind of indifferent about being here.

I'm gonna let you go.

The Cat and Dog Riddle! - Duration: 5:35.

This riddle is presented to us in the form of an image and we need to find the height

of the table-stand.

It's adapted from a problem asked to elementary school students in China!

The same three things are given to us in two different situations.

In the first situation, the cat is on the stand and the dog is resting on the floor.

The distance from the dog's back to the cat's head is one hundred and fifty centimetres.

In the second situation, the dog is on the stand and the cat is on the floor.

And the distance from the cat's head to the dog's back is one hundred and twenty centimetres.

With this given information, how will you find the height of the stand?

There are TWO ways to solve this riddle!

But before we analyse this riddle, I want to give you some good news!

2 lucky winners stand a chance to win giveaways from us and there are clues in the video which

will help you qualify for the giveaways!

Keep watching!

This riddle video and the giveaways are made possible because of Puzzle Master, which is

a distributor of puzzles, brain teasers, jigsaws and many more things which help us with analytical

thinking.

They have some really interesting puzzles on their website which you can visit using

the link in the description below!

And hey, they ship their puzzles worldwide!

So here's your first clue: you need to find the COUNTRY Puzzle master is based in.

Keep watching the video to know how this clue can be used.

First, let us understand a simple and logical way to solve it.

As there are 3 things involved, we can use 3 variables for the heights.

Let the heights of the stand, the standing cat and the seated dog be 's', 'c',

and 'd' respectively.

Now look at the first situation which is on the left.

Using simple math, we can say that the height of the stand plus the height of the cat, minus

the height of the dog will be equal to one hundred and fifty centimetres.

Mathematically, we can write it as 's' plus 'c' minus 'd' is equal to one

hundred and fifty!

Similarly, can you write an equation for the second situation?

We can say that 's' plus 'd' minus 'c' is equal to one hundred and twenty!

Can we find 's' using just these two equations?

Of course we can!

We just have to ADD them!

'c' and 'negative c' cancel out.

And 'd' and 'negative d' cancel out.

What we have on the left hand side is '2 times s'.

On the right hand side, we have the sum of 150 and 120 which is two hundred and seventy!

Dividing both sides by 2 will give us the value of 's' as one hundred and thirty

five centimeters!

That's the height of the stand!

Well done to those who got the correct answer!

And this is your second clue.

Keep watching to know how you can use the first two clues!

There's also a visual way to solve the riddle!

All we need to do is place one table on top of the other like this ! Notice that this

length is 'c' units, and this length is also 'c' units.

It means we can get these lengths down by 'c' units.

What if we move both these lengths down together by 'c' units?

This is how it will look.

What does this give us now?

It tells us that the sum of the heights of the tables is equal to the sum of these two

lengths!

So '2 times s' will be equal to two hundred and seventy centimetres.

That gives us the value of 's' as 'one hundred and thirty five centimetres'.

The visual way was much faster right?

Absolutely!

And that brings me to the third clue for which you need to know the date on which you are

watching this video.

So if the date on which you are watching this video is 9th January 2019, then your third

clue will be one nine zero one zero nine, which is in the YY MM DD format.

How do you use these 3 clues?

To stand a chance to win, all you need to do is comment below in the following format:

So if you think Puzzle Master is based in Japan, and you're watching the video on

the 9th of January in twenty nineteen in your country, your comment should look like this:

I wish you All the best!

This competition will continue for 2 weeks post the launch of this video!

Post the competition, you could just comment for fun!

How are you living your life GREAT in retirement? Here's Dorene's story. - Duration: 2:26.

I like to say I approached retirement with mixed emotions,

joy and happiness.

I was so ready, so ready to retire.

I think retirement is about

doing those things that you always wanted to do,

becoming the person that you always wanted to be

so that you can pour yourself into other people's lives.

My name is Dorene

and I've been married to my husband, Dan, for 28 years.

We have three children together

and we have seven granddaughters, all little girls.

I love being with them,

I love the way their parents have raised them,

and I've got to take a little credit for some of that.

Prior to retirement

I spent most of my career in life insurance,

marketing, and also I was in bank management.

and I would measure my productivity by

maybe how many days I was at work and I worked overtime,

or how many phone calls I answered that day.

But now my productivity is so different.

Because it has to do more with how many texts I sent my kids

or how many times I called my granddaughter.

That's what productivity is now.

The way I live my life great in retirement

is by making the most of every moment with my family.

I just love spending time with my grandchildren.

They love going to the park.

And whether we're just hiking

or whether we're at the farm seeing all the animals

it's just a fabulous thing to watch them growing up

and enjoying nature.

And when I'm with my family,

I always tell them how much they are cherished

and how much they're loved, and how important they are to me.

And I think that's more important than anything else that you can do.

You Can't Plan For Everything / WLOG - Duration: 19:43.

Hey, hey, good morning friend. We're back at you with another WLOG here. I'm about to run into Home Depot

Grab some grab some orange peel textured going to finish up another job today gonna be a great WLOG super excited about it

Wanted to mention that I haven't really talked about it a lot lately

But this is like my 44th we launched so I got a whole bunch more we logs

This is a whole series of Wahb. So this is the 44th episode

So if you guys want to check it out, I'm gonna link it up here. You guys can check out the whole

the whole playlist of all my logs

It takes you kind of through the last, you know, four or five months of my business things I've learned

I've changed a lot of pricing

I've got an employee a lot of things have changed and I've been through some ups and downs some good jobs and bad jobs. So

Neither, let's say just check that out. But we're gonna run into Home Depot here. We're gonna grab some texture

So, let's see how fast we go through Home Depot. Let's do it

All right, we did it we got our Gutter orange peel texture here. Hey guys, I got some new shoes pretty exciting check this out

Redwing shoes, you may not be very excited, but I am

You guys may not be very excited about the Redwing shoes, but I'm super excited

I'm cuz they are the first pair of boots that I've ever bought they're to like

Actually, like work boots like I mean, I'm the only I've always cheaped out. So I've always bought like Walmart, you know boots

There's the first time I've actually spent some good money on some good high-quality boots

And I've been wearing them all week so far and I'm loving them. They're really great

I love these they are waterproof and then it's cool with Red Wings

you can bring them in any time and

They give you new laces and they also clean them and oil them for you at any time. So I'm pretty excited about that

So if they ever get dirty just bring him in drop them off. They clean them for me. So pretty exciting

So anyways, let's get head into our job today

We are finishing up a job that I started

last

Week. So basically this lady she had just uh, it's a really old house. It's a house

I did work at before. I installed some ceiling fans for her before

So she had no exhaust fan in this bathroom

So she wanted me to install an exhaust fan. So I went in to install it. I thought it would be pretty pretty simple

I thought I could just take power from where the switch is

Run that up to an exhaust fan

It turns out that all the power comes to the wall lights, which is above the mirror where the vanity is

that's where all the power comes from and then they actually have a

switched

Let's see a switch

So they got power running over on the white wire and then they switched the black wire coming back over to the light

So all the power is in the light picture

So what I had to do is I had to cut a big old square of drywall right there

rewire all that basically run two new wires run it run a full power over to my switch and then run a new wire from

That switch to my exhaust fan. So I have it all patched up. I did one coat of drywall on it

And then she had she wanted to go from one light fixture to two light fixtures

She didn't have the light fixtures in so I'm coming back just gonna install the new light fixtures

and I also need to do another coat of drywall mud, and then my

Orange peel texture because it was a little bit too cold last time

So the drywall compound just wasn't curing as fast as I wanted it to and I had to come back anyway

so

that is the mission for today button that up and then we have a few other jobs to go with we're gonna be meeting with

Frank

And then run into the plumbing store, so it's me a great day. So

Let's get to it. Oh, I'm also curious. What kind of work boots do you guys wear?

I you know, I'm really loving these Red Wings. Do you guys have any other things that you like Frank really likes Wolverines?

Those are the ones that he loves. What are you guys like? Anyways, let's get to it. All right

So here's the drywall patch that I got here need to do another coat there

Anyway with the two lights. It used to just have one light in the center and then we ran power over here

Installed a double switch and our new exhaust fan

So that's what we was there so let's get to it

You

Alright, I've got them all up there root with some Mitchum miss miss matching bulbs. That's all we have

Turned out pretty good, though

Just need to level them out

Alright that job went pretty good

We got everything buttoned up in the bathroom there and you saw that I was painting the ceiling in the hallway

Just around that light because the first song I was up in the attic. I accidentally hit that light with my foot

And knocked it out of the ceiling. So that was kind of a learning lesson

While or last time I was there I patched it up and then I told her I'd paint it this time

So she was cool with that. It wasn't that big a deal

But still you don't want to knock stuff out of ceilings that kind of sucks. But anyways, I will post a before and after picture

Right here in the video

so you can kind of take a look at what it looked like before it only had that one light in the center and then

After now it has the two lights

More importantly, it has a fully functioning exhaust fan and it's fully vented out through the roof everything like that

That's the most important because there are six people that live in that house and they all use that one bathroom

It's only one bed one bathroom house

And she rents out the garage. So yeah, there's I don't know how many people live there exactly

but anyways, there's a lot of people all using that bathroom and

Right before I got in there. Someone had used the shower and there was no

Condensation anywhere so I know the exhaust fan is working great

So pretty exciting about that because that's what she wanted

You know, so now we are heading across town to go take a look at Frank's job and he's working on

gonna go say hi to him help him out with the with the job help him get out of there and

And we're gonna go over to another job with him take a look at that and he's gonna get started on that fence job

So anyways, so let's go see Frank

All right, let's see what Frank is up to hi Frank, how are you good here's the YouTube

Who any up to Frank? Oh I'm doing the install the shower door, uh-huh

Nice and

It looks real nice. Yeah, and

And now I'm painting this bathroom for the customer. It's gonna be all white

Cool, cuz they just had the shower put in by someone and then they had a drywall repair over there by someone else. So yeah

So, yeah, so yeah

Cool yeah, the guys have asked me a lot if I paint and I say will Frank paints I

Really like painting Frank's it was

Okay, Frank, we're gonna get to work here. All right. All right see ya

All right, we've done a little bit of work here in the past we installed this guy here

I'm installed that last time we're here

And then last time we were here we also installed this prehung door here

Open it up and it's actually an interesting prehung door because this is actually a 2x6 wall

Just built with two by six rather than two by four so you can see here is the original door frame right here

Which is four four inches wide and then you have an expander kit that actually expands out your jam

another

What two inches or so inch and a half or so and that goes all the way around you can see here

so original door jamb

expansion kit so

That came out pretty good. The one thing is when we when I installed this door

There was a little alarm sensor, which is right here. This is a new one

It was down here a brown this area here

It actually comes through this box here and I actually cut through with my sawzall

So we have to put a new one in so that's what I'm gonna get get going on right now

All right, here is our wires right here you see there's

There's the old sensor that I just cut in half. You can still see the red from the sawzall blades. So we're gonna

drill in right around here and

We are going to make our new connections put ours in and then need to put it in the in the door itself

And then put our trim back on

Yeah, there we go

All right got a wired nutted back in

All right, we got our sensor and the way you test it is you open it up and listen for that beep

It's very faint. See if you hear it

Yep, it works

Check it out. So we got our

magnet there

And we got our sensor there. So now as you need to put our trim back on

Call oh good all

Right, so now they want to put this screen door on this new door that we installed so we're gonna be putting that together

Okay, here's our screen door latch is pretty good

All right

All right got my dashpot all put in

Let's loosen this and see the operation here. So

close it's nice and slow and

Then it comes to a latch

Perfect

How's it going up here Frank Oh

Oh almost touch the paint, huh, okay looking good

You didn't get any on you. Oh, well, you're looking pretty good. Thank you free. Shoot. Good nice

Marlin maybe that's what makes him happy makes him feel good makes it look clean. Yeah clean clean clean kill get the dirty

Alright this is what me and Frank are up to right now

Got to attach this galvanized post this whole section of fence

Was actually fallen that way and what we did is we put two 16-foot

pressure-treated two by fours one on the top and one on the bottom and

Putting in two new galvanized post to support this broken fence post here

so that is what we're doing didn't want to leave you guys hanging on that but

That is pretty much what we're doing and then we're supposed to be having a business meeting right now

But that's not happening because we're working

So anyways, so that is it for today's will log

I hope you all enjoyed yourself, and I hope you guys have a fantastic day. Say bye Frank. See you man

When Will You Be Able to Retire - Duration: 1:19.

Happy Monday, this is Andy Larson the Family Finance Champion

So, I interview a lot of people both when I'm helping them financially and when

they're asking me for career advice and one of the questions I always ask

people is, when do you think you're going to retire. Surprisingly, a lot of

people tell me in their late 50's or even early 60's ,and yet these people don't

quite have a concept of how much money it takes to retire. They don't have any

kind of savings and they're not really in a career they're passionate about

that they see they're goning to do for a while. And in fact, some of them are

"Wantropreneurs" I heard that term it, and it means they want to

be entrepreneurs but there's no one there to mentor them or guide them or

show them the ropes of how to get started and what that looks like to cash

in one day so they can actually retire. So whether you're that type of person

looking for a mentor or whether you think you're going to be able to retire

one day but not quite sure how the money works out you need to speak with

someone who's already been there whether that's me or someone else you

know that you trust but you need to figure it out early because as we always

tell people you know learn the rule of 72 it's all about time in the market not

timing the market again I hope you have a great Monday

How are you living your life GREAT in retirement? Here's Nancy's story. - Duration: 2:01.

I live by my motto, Carpe Diem which is "Seize the Day."

and

Life is a journey

and I'm in a later stage of the journey

but it's still a journey and it's a fun journey.

My name is Nancy.

I'm originally from Erie, Pennsylvania

but I'm now living in Daytona Beach, Florida.

I've been a teacher for over twenty-five years.

I've taught 7th and 8th grade for about fourteen,

and then the rest of the time, I taught high school.

I think for people that are approaching retirement,

the only fear that I find that a lot of people my age have, is

"Will I have enough money to live comfortably in retirement?"

Thank you to my annuity, I am comfortable.

I'm living my life great in retirement

by doing many things that I could not do when I was working

because I didn't have the time.

I have started writing, I'm more active. I'm healthy.

Emotionally, I've got a wonderful partner who makes me laugh.

And we enjoy each other's company, and we do things together.

I am living my motto of Carpe Diem.

I'm happy. I'm content.

How are you living your life GREAT in retirement? Here's Beatriz's story. - Duration: 1:31.

My friends and my sister always told me that I was very adventurous.

My name is Beatriz Garcia.

I have eight children

fourteen grandchildren

and eight great grandchildren.

One of my favorite things to do now that I'm retired

is to spend it with the grandchildren, the young ones.

Teach them, play with them, but teach them new things.

Every birthday I really love to

wake up my grandson, or granddaughter, or great-grandson

or whoever it is, singing to them the mañanitas

and then I also end up with, "happy birthday to you"

"happy birthday to you".

The best way to live life great in retirement

is to follow a good path, work hard, love your family,

and save for the future.

How are you living your life GREAT in retirement? Here's Adalia's story. - Duration: 2:11.

My husband likes to say to younger people

as they're going through their careers,

"It's not how much you make, it's how you make it much."

So, what that means is to live your life within your means

and in the end, you'll be very comfortable when you retire.

My name's Adalia and my husband's name is Dan.

We've been married for 46 years.

We have two children, Michael and Denise

and two grandchildren,

Ryan who is twelve and McKenna who is nine.

Family, for me, they're my rock. They're everything to me.

I want everybody to be happy.

And because I was working when my kids were growing up,

I didn't get to do a lot of those adventurous things

that I now can do with my grandkids.

So, I take every moment that I can and try to do those things with them.

Because I want them, when they're thirty years old,

to remember who Grammy was.

I'm living my life great in retirement because I can do what I want to do,

when I want to do it.

I can spend time with my family building memories,

I can go away on a trip if I need to.

I have my dog, a very big part of our life.

And we planned ahead for our retirement years

so, we're very comfortable

which makes us able to do whatever we really want to do.

Retirement is a time to invest in family.

It's just the most important thing there is.

and you never know when it's going to be gone.

Man City News - Gini Wijnaldum: Klopp's message to players that made Liverpool bounce back from 2 d - Duration: 3:20.

Liverpool are in pole position to land their first ever Premier League title in May

The Reds are four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table after 23 games and have been the best team in England this season

There's genuine excitement around Anfield and this really could be their year, especially after big wins against Manchester United and Arsenal

Only time will tell if Jurgen Klopp's team can make it across the finish line and lift their first league title since 1990, but they're certainly on course to do so

Earlier this month though, Liverpool had a little bit of a wobble due to back-to-back defeats against rivals Man City and then Wolves in the FA Cup

Questions were quickly raised about things starting to crumble on Merseyside, with some fans hoping to see the team bottle it once again

But that wasn't the case.   BOUNCING BACK   Instead, Liverpool bounced back in style by winning their next two games - one of which was an exhilarating 4-3 victory against Crystal Palace which they came from behind to win

And according to Gini Wijnaldum, that response was never in doubt.   The midfielder has been speaking about recovering from that double blow and he explained that there was a lot to learn from the two matches

"You always learn from a defeat, even more than when you win games because when you win, you don't see everything you did wrong," he told Premier League Productions, per Liverpool's website

"When you lose games you analyse them more than when you win. Of course we learned

Every team learns when they lose a game."  As well as insisting that Liverpool are learning from their mistakes, Wijnaldum also explained how a simple message from Klopp helped them bounce back from the two defeats

KLOPP'S MESSAGE  "What I learned the most was that we still need to keep the confidence; in Jurgen we have a manager who can help us with that," he continued

"That's what he said after the games against City and Wolves - that we must keep the confidence and maybe even work harder than before

"He gave us the feeling that we had to deal with it and work even harder to make it better

"  The players have since responded to that message from the boss and with just four months of the season left, it looks like Klopp might be the manager that finally delivers Liverpool a Premier League title

Marie Condo, Bob Ross, And Other Relaxing Netflix Shows || Bingeworthy - Duration: 4:17.

- Whoo!

Let's do it.

"Bingeworthy," here we go!

Let's all take a deep breath in through our nose,

out through our mouth.

Welcome to a very relaxing episode of "Bingeworthy."

I'm Alex Robinson and today, we'll be talking about

a few Netflix shows with the uncanny ability

to quell our anxiety, put a smile on our face,

and lull us into a state of total relaxation,

or just straight-up put us to sleep.

Let's begin with "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo."

If you haven't binged this eight-episode series yet,

here's a brief and orderly summary.

Marie's a Japanese best-selling author

writing lots of books on the joys

of home organization.

You guessed it:

tidying up.

To do this, she uses a technique she developed

called the KonMari Method.

This partly entails holding an item,

asking yourself if it sparks joy,

and if it doesn't, thanking the item out loud

and letting it go.

This sparks no joy.

Thank you.

The other part of her method is folding

your jeans and socks into tiny little rectangles

that fit neatly into your drawers.

In theory, this leads to a decluttered home

and, thus, a decluttered mind.

If you've been meaning to purge your overstuffed dresser

or finally organize that giant cave hamper

you call a closet, this is a show

you need to start watching immediately.

- Let's start tidying.

- Don't need to tidy up the old domicile.

Then a healthy, calming dose of Boss Ross is in order.

There are two happy little shows on Netflix right now

that have episode collections of the original

"The Joy of Painting."

"Chill with Bob Ross," and "Bob Ross: Beauty Is Everywhere."

Each series has 26 episodes running 30 minutes apiece

and it is the perfect show to binge

if you plan on being fast asleep by the end

of the episode.

From Bob's soothing voice to the scratchy sounds

of his brushstrokes, this is an ASMR journey

that'll have you dreaming of happy little trees

and snow-capped mountains in no time.

- It's very thin.

Now then, I want to set that down into the painting.

So we'll begin to put bushes that come up and over it.

- "The Great British Baking Show."

You might remember the weirdly quaint trailer

for the new "British Bake Off" when it moved

from the BBC to Channel 4, and likely wondered

if it would become the Just Okay British Bake Off.

Well, it hasn't.

The new seasons are hosted by Noel Fielding

from Brit comedy group and cult TV show,

"The Mighty Boosh," and Sandi Toksvig,

hilarious comedian and host

of popular British quiz show, "QI."

The show's judged by Prue Leith

and the Tan Man himself, Paul Hollywood.

Some have said this new season's even better

than the original which had

the British queen of baking, Mary Berry.

But, hey, don't get your bottoms all soggy

if you haven't watched it yet.

Check out two seasons of 10 hour-long episodes

with quirky British home bakers streaming now.

"Dogs," a six episode docuseries that came out

on Netflix this past November.

"Dogs" is a look at the roles our furry best friends play

in our complicated and stressful lives.

Each hour-long episode chronicles a different dog

and its family from locales like Japan,

Syria, and Costa Rica.

The show definitely delivers on the whole

look-at-all-these-dogs promise.

But with heartwarming and profound storytelling,

it's a show about the bonds we form

with our four-legged companions

and the way that we interact with them throughout cultures.

Fair warning, you will cry.

Probably, a lot.

Guys, can we cut?

But it is 100% worth the tears.

Finally, we have "Blue Planet II,"

the sequel to the breathtaking 2001 hit, "Blue Planet,"

its sister show the planet earth life

and all that other tight nature (beep).

We're back in the idyllic dreamscape

under the ocean surface revisiting the underwater

creepy-crawlies and multi-finned behemoths

swimming around the big blue sea.

So David Attenborough is back as our trusted narrator

and guides us through seven hour-long episodes

that hit everything from vast oceanic deserts

to kelp forests and radiant coral reefs.

Per usual, you can expect brilliant cinematography

and an enthralling soundtrack of lo-fi beats

to relax and study to,

as well as a call-to-action to do whatever

we can to save one of the most mysterious places

on our pale blue dot.

I'm Alex Robinson and thank you for watching "Bingeworthy."
