Instant Drone Delivery: How a Former Google Lab Will Disrupt the Ownership Economy | Astro Teller - Duration: 4:32.
The unmanned aerial vehicle project at X, which we call Wing, has as its aspiration
to remove the bulk of the remaining friction from how we move physical things around in
the physical world, particularly the so-called last mile problem.
If you look at the history of how physical things have been moved around in the physical
world, every time a chunk of the remaining friction was removed from that process, boats,
planes, trains, the automobile, the Pony Express, the mail system, every one of these things
as we got more organized and removed cost and complexity from how physical things got
moved around in the world the world became so different that it was impossible before
hand to even predict how different and how much better it would be on the other side
of that introduction.
We take for granted the remaining friction as though it's natural and will continue forever.
If you could have anything that would fit in a bread box brought to you within one or
two minutes, you still have to pay for the thing that's in the breadbox but it could
be brought to you nearly for free, then our world would be radically different.
Those batteries that are sitting in a drawer in your house or apartment right now discharging,
you have those batteries, you're wasting the planet because you think you might need a
few of those batteries before they fully discharge on some Christmas morning or something.
But if you believed you could have any shaped battery you want just in the moment you need
it you wouldn't bother holding all those batteries.
You probably have a hammer in your house or apartment.
Why do you have that hammer?
You almost never use it.
And we all have to have a hammer for the occasional moment when we want the hammer.
But we could probably share one hammer around 10,000 of us.
Think how much richer the world would be if we could have that.
How are we going to make it so that you could have the hammer just appear within a moment
or two when you want it?
You say I want to hammer, you get a cup of coffee at the most and the hammer is there.
And our proposal for how to do that is that you can make small vehicles that fly through
the air quietly and very safely and bring to you whatever you want.
Our prediction is that at first society will adopt these for the use of delivering food.
Food is something that almost everybody uses and that they use on a very regular basis.
There's already a very robust food delivery market and people express an interest in having
a lot more delivered to them, with respect to food.
So that is likely to be the early adoption of this technology.
But the long run promise of being able to move things around inside of cities and suburban
areas in particular without having to create more traffic congestion, without of the carbon
footprint that comes from large trucks moving packages around, without the sound and safety
problems produced by large trucks moving around our city, all of those problems can be solved
by flying what you want what you need right now to you through the air.
We're public about the fact that we did more than a thousand flights last year in Wing
and I would like to see at least 100 times that many this year and 100 times as many
the year after that and I don't think that that's at all out of the question.
There are regulatory conversations to be had and demonstrations of safety to be proven
as we step through this process in the United States and in other countries.
And it's important that we push hard on the technology but also work thoughtfully and
responsibly with the regulators to demonstrate the safety and to build their confidence in
what we're doing as we take each incremental step.

Beware The Tech Utopians | Globalism 2 - Duration: 3:59.
Hello All.
Last time I pointed out that we need a Globalist party.
Globalists should work for a better run, safer, and freer world.
But there isn't a lot out there on how to do that.
The folks working hardest for a global world right now are all in Silicon Valley.
I think that's a real problem.
A couple weeks back Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg issued a striking manifesto.
It was one part shareholder's letter, one part corporate propaganda, and one part mission
statement for building a better world.
This manifesto excited some, scared some, and got more people talking about the possibility
of Zuckerberg getting into politics.
I'm not on the Zuck 2020 train, like at all.
I don't think Globalism should be left to the tech utopians.
To explain why, I've got to talk about Globalization.
How it's happened before, and how it's different this time.
Because Globalization in its current form is one of the biggest problems for the Globalists.
I think it makes sense to talk about the current era of globalization as kicking off in the
1990's after the cold war.
The roots were laid down as early as 1945, but a whole bunch of things got exponential
in the 1990s.
What a lot of people don't recognize is that this isn't the first time we've experienced
massive globalization.
It's the second.
The first big wave of Globalization built the modern world.
Dating from the 1850's to the outbreak of World War I, it built everything we know.
Everything from modern corporations to the modern labor movement came out of this incredible ferment.
It generated some pretty horrific living conditions, but it also brought great wealth and economic
activity to everyone.
This is what the ports of Great Cities like New York and San Francisco looked like back then.
There was ceaseless activity
Here a cargo ship arrives or departs every 30 minutes of every day or night
and it brought great opportunities to everybody from unskilled laborers to robber barons.
This is what the port of San Francisco looks like today.
They've got acres of parking lots and a baseball stadium because nothing else is going on.
The ports of our great cities are now given over to private marinas and miles of recreational facilities.
It's all very pleasant, but the economic engine is gone.
Robots do most of the work, in less glamorous places like Oakland and Newark.
Globalization 1 was a mass phenomenon.
Globalization 2 isn't in the developed world, and I think some of these dynamics will hit
emerging markets before too long.
The second era of globalization provides great opportunities, but to a much smaller segment
of the population.
There's a ticket you need to play the game.
That ticket is getting more expensive.
And 70% of Americans just don't have it.
Silicon Valley and the Tech Utopians talk a good game, but as of 2016, they haven't
taken any steps to help deal with this problem.
Instead they build whiz bang services that funnel more and more money to fewer people,
and wipe out whole industries along the way.
If we continue to let Silicon Valley be the only entity defining Globalism then we're
going to be in terrible trouble.
The Nationalist backlash will grow, and the benefits of Globalization will be lost.
A Globalist Party needs to have an answer to this question.
It needs to find a way to make the case to everybody else.
There's definitely a role for Silicon Valley here.
The answer will probably be technological.
But none of the current answers do the job.
I don't know what the answer is yet, but if a Globalist party is going to work, we need it.
Thanks for watching, please subscribe.
And you might also want to sign up for my e-mail newsletter.
I've got a bunch of non YouTube stuff coming up over the next couple months, and the e-mail
list is the best way to hear about it.
Thanks.

Как быть хорошим капитаном - мнение Дениса Костина @ IEM Katowice 2017 (ENG SUBS) - Duration: 5:15.
We talked to the captain of Na`Vi CS:GO team, Seized, to find out what being a leader truly means.
Denis, how to be a good captain?
A good captain is a person with qualities like strong will, confidence in his team until the end, regardless of the score,
he must be a person, who supports others in any difficult situation, and he must understand the game well.
Is it hard for you to be a captain? Don't you want to quit?
Well, it's hard, yes. Regarding quitting, I don't know... everything is different now.
Sometimes when we argue I just want to drop everything and focus solely on my own gameplay.
What do you feel when the team loses? What do you want to do during the first moments?
To be honest, it depends on the way you lose and the stage,
I mean previously when we lost in finals the emotions were completely different.
We broke keyboards, you just wanted to hide somewhere for a day, it's always different, it depends on the way we lose.
Can someone be a great frager and a great captain, or you have to sacrifice something?
You have to sacrifice anyway, because if you are a good player, focusing on your game,
you will lose something as a captain, and vice versa, if you focus on leadership you will forget about your game.
You have to find a balance there to be good at both, the only example I can think of is Fallen, it's even harder with AWP.
He's a captain of his team and he plays very well individually.
There are very few players like this, also gla1ve from Astralis is one of them, I like the way he plays individually.
It feels like there has been a lot of tension within the team, what will help you overcome this tension?
This had been the case for about 1 month, prior to this tournament.
For now, we need to get home, rest for 1-2 days, refresh and get back to practicing hard.
We'll gather for bootcamp, we lack the practice we had before the major.
I think we lost there because of some psychological factor, not because we played poorly.
We lost confidence in the game against Astralis.
I believe we were better prepared than any other team in the tournament.
I think now we need to prepare the way we did for the major and add something new to our gameplay.
Is there any difference between preparing for a tournament after a victory or after a defeat?
When are you more motivated?
Again, it depeds on the way you lose.
The first days after you win a tournament you feel relaxed, joy, maybe even vanity, you enjoy this victory.
And after that you practice like you usually would.
But it's easier to prepare for a tournament when you lose,
because when you lose you can identify the reasons as to why you lost, what needs to be changed in the game and so on.
But when you win, you can miss some nuances in the game, what needs to be fixed, what doesn't work and so on.
Do you want to hang out with your teammates after the tournament is over?
Do you miss each other when you go home?
Depends on how long we've been travelling together.
There were periods when we were attending tournaments for a month straight,
at that moment you really want to take a break from each other.
But when the tournaments are every two months, it makes me wanna see them again.
A week and a half or two is enough for me to start missing the team, to make me want to go to a bootcamp or a tournament.
After this period of time I want to see my teammates and start playing again.
My name is Denis Kostin, thanks to everyone who watched this video.

Stop Being A Follower In Business Be Unique - Audrey Millan - Duration: 7:06.
What's going on guys? This is Audrey again.
And I want to make this video because I
want to show you, I want to tell you
What's one thing that I learned from
Gary Vay, okay. And I was watching his
video and this one thing that he keep saying
and saying and saying and saying that opened my
eyes,
alright. And it is this right here.
I don't know you guys want to know but before I start with
this video, please subscribe to the channel.
Like this video and comment if you find
this video helpful.
For those who don't know Gary Vay is, I mean,
basically you should know who he is. I mean, he's famous.
He is the best, alright. So this one
thing that I learned from him. I mean I don't want to...
about this but it's one thing that I really
get to my head and it is this, I don't know
what he said, fuck what everybody doing.
I don't have to be doing what
everybody's doing, alright.
That means I'm making a sample.
you just not going to have a snapchat because
everybody's doing a snapchat.
You not going to be doing YouTube because
everybody's going YouTube.
You're gonna do, what you think is good
for you.
And what your thing is, you know, that
you could do and get good at it, alright. If
you're good at doing YouTube videos,
do that. If you're going to do that, you can do that archive
Me? I'm good at doing videos,
I think. But doing Twitter, I thought like
I can just be on Twitter and is opening up stuff
I just can't.
That's not for me so I'm not going to have
a Twitter account just because everybody
have twitter. So this is one thing that
he says that gets to me and it was crazy.
That part right there was amazing,
alright. So hopefully you guys learned
something from him because if you don't
know who he is, man, you need to click the
link below and subscribe to the channel
and see all his video. It's going to open
your eye. It's really really really going to
open your eye. Like, it's amazing.
And I really love that part where he said, like,
I don't know, like someone would ask something and he was like,
fuck what's everybody's doing. I don't
need to be doing what everybody is doing.
I don't need to be on a Snap chat just because
everybody's doing Snap chat. I don't want to be doing this, I don't need to be
doing that, you know. And it's true.
That's right. I just want to make this
quick video to see that because
it's freaking true. I mean it opened my eye.
Like damn. It's really true. So, my advise
for you is time for you to start a business.
Start a business. A serious business. Start making
money online, you know. Do something
with your life. Let's start this nine-to-five, man.
We need to start making money online, alright.
And that's it, okay. Because I'm not going to lie. I do
make money online.
Other than my business that I'm doing
right now. It's brand-new. This business
that I'm doing now is brand new so I'm not
going to... I'm not making thousands yet but
I AM making money online with other
business. Like for example, like Amazon.
Amazon FBA, Merch by Amazon, I'm
doing Amazon affiliate. I'm doing a couple of
things but my goal is to make 10,000
a month and by doing just what I'm doing
now,
that's like working hard. I don't want to
work hard, I want to work smart, you know.
I want to be smarter now. I want to have
a real business and have people you know
helping me and stuff out for stuff that
other people could do for just like four
dollars, five dollars per hour.
Why not? I mean if that person is good at it
and it's more time for me, and I could
get that person do that job for me,
why not pay that person three dollars an
hour or four dollars per hour so that
person could do the job that I was doing.
So it's basically that's how it is. It is
basically that's how business is, alright.
You need to work smart. Not hard and
that's something that I'm trying to do,
ok. I'm trying to quit my nine-to-five but
for that, like I said, I could get in my last
video, my goal,
one of the goals that I have, is to make
10,000 for a month, like that. Ten thousand
per, every single month. Poom! Poom! Poom! Poom! Poom!
And I don't want to quit. I'm going to keep
working hard for my business. I'm going to keep
working hard for this because this is what I want.
And I'm pretty sure, a lot of you want
to do the same thing. I'm pretty sure. I don't even know what you want to .
make money online. I just want to quit that nine-to-five
If you guys are so tired of it.
I mean, honestly, you're not doing nothing
about it. You're not starting your business.
You're not, you know, the first thing you need
to do is start with something so you could
just you know keep following, have goals,
and this, and that. So, start with something.
Alright, start with something. If you want to join what
I'm doing which is Internet Jet-Set. Down below is the link, alright.
You could start right now. You could start.
You could start, you know, learn how to be an
affiliate marketer and have a business as an
affiliate marketer. You could start. There's no excuse
for you not to start the business right now.
You can start learning how to be an
affiliate marketer and it's the easiest
way to make money because you're promoting
other people's product. You're not making
the product because to make the
product, man, that's a lot of work,
all right. I mean, I have a spanish
community. I make my own product. I have
people, yeah. I mean I still have, but
it's a pain in the ass man. You need to be there. You need to
do customer service, you could do so many
stuff. But for me, that's exactly why I'm
paying someone else to do that. I also
see that because it's crazy. It's
crazy and it's a pain ass. So, honestly, the best
thing to do right now is to be an
affiliate. Is to be an affiliate
marketer. That's the best thing that you
can make money right now by just
promoting let's just say whole theater.
As a hosting, you could promote it like
pay you for every person to join. 50$ or
whatever.
Why not, right ? You can start with
something. So that's my advice for you.
Start already for something. Like Gary Vay said,
you don't need to be doing what everybody's
doing. Be Unique. Start your own thing,
alright. So just a way for to say, you know, saying that.
He's the best man. He's the best.
And you need to be, you know, watching
positive stuff. Gary V, you know,
Project Life Mastery which is Stephen.
He's the best. Oh my god, love him. John Crestani. You know,
positive people who... They're already doing
like what I want to do. So why not follow
those people, learn from them, and then
take advise from them, and start doing what
they're doing. I mean, why not?
Right? You're not risking. You're not.. I mean, that's cool.
You could change your life so
I'll see you guys in another video man. This is.
All I wanted to say... I'll see you guys in another video
Hopefully you guys like this video.
Subscribe if you're new, and comment down below,
alright. So, I'll see you guys tomorrow.

LIBRARY BOOK HAUL | Bookishly Lauren - Duration: 2:08.
Hey guys!
Welcome to Bookishly Lauren.
Today I'll be doing my first library haul.
As I've recently started getting back into reading, I went a little crazy at the library
this time and I have about... six books to show you guys.
Maybe even more.
The first book I have is "Truthwitch" by Susan Dennard.
I don't know much about this one other than the fact that it's about witches.
I've heard a lot about it on booktube and that it's been blurbed by Sarah J. Maas, which
can only mean good things.
Next up is "The Diviners" by Libba Bray.
I love this cover.
I haven't heard a lot about this, I know it's about ghosts in the 1920s?
And that's about it.
But I'm very interested to read it and I know a lot of people have good things to say about
it.
Next up is "The Kiss of Deception" by Mary E. Pearson.
I haven't heard much about this and I think it's a fantasy novel?
But that's about all I know.
And I'm very excited to read it.
Next up is "The Valiant" by Lesley Livingston.
I think this is the Perustopia book club book of the month and that's mostly why I got it.
But it looks great, I've never read a book about gladiators before, so who knows?
Next up is another book that I've heard a lot about on booktube and that is "The Queen
of the Tearling" by Erika Johansen.
It's massive!
But I'm excited to read it, mostly because it has a little ribbon bookmark.
No, actually I want to read it because a lot of booktubers that I watch think very highly
of this book.
So, I'm excited to read it.
Next up I have the first two books in "The Raven Cycle" series by Maggie Stiefvater.
I haven't heard much about this, I know it has something to do with some kind of magic,
but judging by everybody's reactions to "The Raven King" that came out a couple of years
ago, I think now?
I will enjoy this.
Next up is "Ahsoka" by E.K. Johnston.
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, you can't see it right now, but there's a lot of Star Wars
stuff in my room and I'm excited to read more about Ahsoka.
I haven't finished "The Clone Wars" series especially since they just took it off of
Netflix.
But hopefully I will be able to finish it soon and get around to this book because I
love Star Wars.
And lastly, in case my enthusiasm about Star Wars was not already high enough.
I have "Star Wars: Bloodline" by Claudia Gray.
I'm especially excited to read this book considering it is in the years leading up to "Star Wars: The Force
Awakens", which is the newest film as of now.
And there's kind of a huge gap of time that's not really talked about in the Star Wars universe
yet.
So I'm hoping to get some more knowledge on that, including whatever General Leia Organa
has been up to in those years.
And I can't wait to read this book.
And so, those are all of the library books that I have from the library right now and
that does not mean that I don't have any on request because I have six books on request
right now.
But these are what I have right now, so thanks for watching!
