Top 10 Weight Loss MYTHS Debunked, Broke, & Busted...Once And For All - Neil O'Nova @Stronger+Leaner - Duration: 16:11.
Hi, I'm Neil O'Nova.
And today I'm going to reveal the top 10 weight loss MYTHS debunked that could be holding
you back from getting the body you really want.
Weight Loss Myth #1: Weight loss is linear.
When people start dieting, they often believe that they are going to be able to lose 2 pounds
per week, every week, on the dot.
And their weight loss will look like a straight line.
The truth is that it almost never works that way.
It's normal for your bodyweight to fluctuate, and that makes it hard sometimes to measure
your progress.
For instance, if you had a high-sodium dinner last night, your body might be bloated in
the morning, holding on to more water, which could increase your weight by a pound or two
temporarily.
Or some days you may just have more food in your digest system than normal.
And if you're a woman, it's normal for your bodyweight to fluctuate during menstrual cycles.
This is important to know because you can't let yourself get discouraged if it's been
3 days and your bodyweight hasn't changed.
Now if it's been 10-14 days and your weight hasn't decreased at all, then that might be
a sign that you need to look at your diet and see where you can cut some calories.
But what's really important is that your overall trend is going downward.
And what often happens is that weight loss comes in sort of a cycle.
Sort of a wave.
So you might go a week or two without losing any weight...but you keep at it, you stick
to your diet...
And then over the next two weeks you'll lose 5, 6, 7 pounds.
So when you're trying to lose weight, don't get completely focused on the past couple
days.
Take a longer view and see what's happened with your weight over the past 2 months.
Look at your overall weight loss trend, and that's going to be much more useful for you.
Weight Loss Myth #2: One diet is better than another.
Now this is half-myth, half-truth.
On one hand, some diets will work better for you just because they're a better fit for
your lifestyle.
But that doesn't mean that diet is, strictly speaking, better than another diet.
Diet #1 might work better for you, but diet #2 might work better for somebody else.
The thing that causes a diet to work is its ability to create a calorie deficit.
And that is the ONLY thing that makes a diet WORK to help you lose weight.
So a low-carb diet doesn't work because carbs are evil...it works because by eliminating
carbs, it automatically reduces your calorie intake.
And there are many different ways to reduce your calorie intake.
Hence: many different diets that can be effective.
Finally, as a disclaimer, let me just say that I'm only talking about smart, effective,
nutritionally complete diets here.
If you're comparing a real diet, like a Mediterranean-style diet, against the Doritos and Skittles Diet,
well...that's obviously does not apply here.
Weight Loss Myth #3: You should graze all day to "stoke your metabolism."
It used to be a popular thing to try to eat 6 small meals a day, because people thought
that would increase your metabolism.
We now know that that is not true.
They've studied it, and basically what happens is this:
Eating a small meal does give you a small metabolism boost...
But eating a bigger meal causes a bigger metabolism boost.
So eating 6 small meals gives you the SAME metabolism boost as 3 meals
that are twice as big.
The net change in metabolism is zero.
And this is true because the metabolism boost you get...comes from your body actually digesting
the food.
And the more food you eat, the more digestion your body has to do.
Weight Loss Myth #4: All calories are created equal.
This is another half-myth, half-truth.
Technically speaking, you could eat nothing but ice cream every day and still lose weight.
As long as you're in a calorie deficit.
But if you look at the big picture, some calories are far more useful in terms of weight loss.
For example, eating 100 calories of broccoli is going to be more satisfying--you're going
to feel more full--than 100 calories of ice cream (which is like 2 bites.)
The broccoli also has more nutrients, so your body will be healthier, you'll feel better,
have more energy, and so on.
Another example here is protein.
If you eat 100 calories of protein, your body is going to burn about 30 calories just to
digest it.
That's not true of fat or carbohydrates.
Also protein keeps you feeling full, and helps preserve your lean muscle so that the weight
you do lose is body fat.
You will definitely NOT get those benefits on a Ben and Jerry's diet.
Weight Loss Myth #5: Fat burners will help you.
People throw millions of dollars down the toilet by buying fat burners.
Now it's true that some of these supplements can help you burn fat...like a TINY bit better...just
a little bit...
But unless you are trying to diet down to like 5% body fat, it's really not even going
to make a noticeable difference.
Skip the fat burners, save your money, and spend it on healthy food instead.
Weight Loss Myth #6: Carbs make you fat.
I talked about this just a minute ago.
Yes, it is true that refined carbohydrates like sugar and white bread, etc., and not
good food choices for weight loss.
But nevertheless: carbs are not evil, and eliminating them will not magically cause
you to lose weight.
You still have to be in a calorie deficit.
That said, low-carb diets do work...because they encourage a calorie deficit.
I did a whole separate video on the topic of low-carb diets, so click the card to check
that out.
Weight Loss Myth #7: Fat makes you fat.
Everything I just said about carbs also applies to fat.
There are poor choices, like trans fat, that you definitely want to avoid.
But that said, you absolutely NEED to eat some healthy fats in your diet.
They have a lot of health benefits, they help you feel full, and they're really important
in keeping your hormone levels healthy.
And keep in mind that fat is more calorically dense than other macronutrients.
One gram of protein or carbohydrates has 4 calories, whereas one gram of fat has 9 calories.
So you have to be careful not to overdo it with the fat.
Just like with carbs, in the end it all comes down to the calories.
Weight Loss Myth #8: You have to eat breakfast to lose weight.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
Right?
Wrong!
I have heard this so many times it makes me sick.
The truth is you can absolutely skip breakfast if you want to.
Once again, what really matters is the calories.
People tend to think that eating breakfast will increase your metabolism--well, we already
busted that, that was myth #3--and they also think that eating breakfast will help you
avoid overeating later in the day.
But frankly, that's just not true.
You can absolutely skip breakfast and still eat in moderation throughout the day.
Lots of people do it.
In fact, there's a whole diet movement called intermittent fasting which is all about NOT
eating breakfast.
I have a 3-video series on the topic of intermittent fasting, so click the card if you want to
learn more.
Weight Loss Myth #9: You don't need to diet as long as you exercise.
The truth is, people, that you cannot out-train a bad diet.
You could work out for 2 hours a day, every day, and still not lose weight if you eat
too much.
And trust me: we are all, all of us, able to EAT more than calories than we can burn.
So exercise is great, but if you want to lose weight you have to make your diet the priority.
Click the card above to check out another video I have on this topic, called "Nutrition
is 90% of Your Physique."
Weight Loss Myth #10: The leaner or thinner you are, the
healthier you are.
Now, yes: it's true that obesity is linked with all kinds
of chronic diseases, like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
BUT: that does not mean that leaner is always healthier.
There's a line that separates being overweight and obese from being a healthy weight.
Generally we consider that line to be around a BMI of 25.
BMI isn't a perfect measurement by any means, but that's another topic.
So as long as you're under that line, as long as you are at a healthy weight, then there's
no real HEALTH benefit to be gained from losing more weight.
There are other benefits: you look better, you might perform better athletically, you
might feel more confident...but you won't be healthier.
And in fact if you get TOO lean...like really lean, then you could start to go in the other
direction.
You could start to become malnourished because you're not eating enough.
The real difference between overweight and healthy weight has to do with WHERE your body
is storing your fat.
If you have a lot of visceral fat, which is body fat in between your organs, THAT is the
really bad, unhealthy kind with all sorts of health risks.
But if you just have subcutaneous fat, the kind of fat that builds up under your skin,
that's more of a cosmetic problem.
I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T try to get more lean, if you want to...
...but it's important to know that you don't HAVE to (to be healthy, which
is really--in the end--the MOST important thing).
Thanks for watching.

Till next time, here's to a stronger, leaner you.

Marketing and Advertising - 4 Lessons I've Learned Running a Business - Duration: 5:30.
marketing and advertising are probably
the last thing you think about when you
think about leadership but if you're
running a business marketing and
advertising are probably the most
important aspects of your business
welcome back and congratulations on
taking one more step towards becoming
one of the great leaders of tomorrow
marketing and advertising are a
challenge for every business owner I'm
not an expert but one of our viewers
asked us to talk about it so today I'm
going to give you four lessons I've
learned in marketing since I started
running a business and stay tuned to the
end I'm going to give you a link where
you can download our free leadership
development plan workbook and set your
goals so the next two five and ten years
in your career and build a plan of
action to achieve them as much as 20
years in the Air Force helped prepare me
for running a business marketing and
advertising was one area where being in the
military didn't prepare me for business
and those are really challenging for me
and there was a big learning curve for
me as I was stepping up learning how to
do marketing and advertising and it's
still something that I have a hard time
with and it's still something I have to
work on quite consciously so if you're a
business owner and you're struggling
with marketing or you just want to learn
a little bit more about it here are four
lessons I've learned in the few years that
I've been running my business that
should help you have a good attitude
about marketing and advertising most
importantly when you're doing marketing
and advertising it's got to be about
your customers needs and not yours this
means talking to your customers your
potential customers and understanding
what their pain points are and what
challenges they're facing it also means
figuring out who your ideal customer is
and not trying to market to everyone if
your customer is everyone your customer
no one as they say we've got to figure
out who our ideal customer is and how we
can help them make their lives better
with our services not just give them
what we want to give them and take their
money lesson number two I've learned is
to make connections and not pitches this
is a hard one for me because when I
first meet someone or when I'm first
cold calling or cold emailing them I want
to tell them all about me all about my
company and all the great things we have
to offer and the great qualifications we
have but that's not what everyone wants
to hear especially the first time you're
talking to them so take some time to
make that connection get to know
them a little bit let them get to know
you let that grow organically and let
that discussion of what you have to
offer them come out of that and also
this is a great time to pulse them about
what their needs are what
those pain points are like we talked
about in the first lesson it's got to be
about meeting their needs not about what
you want to offer them lesson number
three is that you've got to use multiple
channels it's not enough just to go to a
couple networking events a month or just
use social media you've got to go meet
your clients where they're at wherever
that is not where we want them to be so
that may mean a mix of social media
physical in person networking cold
calling cold emailing it may even mean
print advertising it's that's where your
customers are and when it comes to
meeting people where they're at that
means more than just going to the
locations where they're at being advertised
in the publication's they read it means
recognizing that they might not be ready
to buy as soon as they see our
advertisement just like we talked about
in the first two tips we've got to
recognize their needs we've got to
recognize where they're at and build
that relationship a little bit go meet
them where they are and in their where
they are in their cycle of being ready
to buy not where we want them to be the
last lesson I have for you when it comes
to marketing and advertising is that
you've got to put the time and you've
got to put the effort in whether that
means engaging with your potential
clients on social media going to the
networking event going out to meet them
in their offices whatever it means
you've got to go put the time in you
can't just put a little bit of effort in
and then hope everything is going to
come to you you've got to get in there
you got to put the time and you got to
continue to engage with them you've got
to follow-up not everyone wants...we've said this
a bunch of times already it sounds like
a broken record I'm sure not everyone's
going to be ready to buy the first time
that doesn't mean they're not interested
but you do need to follow up with them
and you need to continue advertising and
marketing through all of your sales
channels so put the time in someone
once told me that especially when it
comes to social media someone once told
me that it doesn't pay to be lazy when
you're doing social media so take the
time engage with your potential clients
and your audience on social media and
make sure you're customizing your posts
for the platform so you're going to make
a post on Twitter different that you're
going to make a post on Facebook so make
sure you're putting the time in engaging
with people and customizing your post
and your advertising and marketing
messages for the right platform in the
right medium so I hope these tips are
helpful to you when it comes to
marketing and advertising and I hesitate
to even call them tips because I'm
certainly not an expert on marketing I
don't feel like I should be giving
anybody any advice when it comes to
marketing but these are just four lessons
I've learned since starting a business a
couple years ago and the lessons I
continue to work on and things I kind of
need to relearn every now and then some
of these lessons I've had to learn the
hard way so i hope this video helped you
a little bit maybe you won't need to
learn these lessons the hard way like i
did but give them a try so when you're
thinking about your marketing for your
businesses or even if you're just
marketing your personal brand give these
four tips a try take a look at these
lessons and see how you can apply them I
hope they work out for you best of luck

Single Blind or Double Blind Peer Review in Publishing? - Duration: 3:15.
Hi there.
I am John Bond from Riverwinds Consulting and this is Publishing Defined.
Today I am going to discuss the difference between single blind and double blind peer
review as it relates to scholarly publishing.
As a reminder, peer review is the evaluation of a scholarly article by the editors, editorial
board, and the reviewers of a journal to determine if the article is worthy of publication.
Journals may operate under many different types of systems but single blind and double
blind peer review are the most common.
In single blind peer review, the authors are not privy to the names of the peer reviewers.
In this version, reviewers being anonymous allows for them to be honest in their opinion
of the content when giving their feedback to the journal.
Authors may be concerned that the reviewer's knowledge of who the author and the institution
are may lead to bias in the critique.
Single blind, however, is the most common type of all the systems particularly in STM
publishing.
In double blind peer review, both the author and reviewers are anonymous.
The author takes the time to anonymize their article, deleting all references to the author
and their institution.
Sometimes, however, this anonymizing may be done by the journal's editorial staff.
In this system, the reviewers are focused on the content and, extraneous information
such as the institution or county of origin or how well known the author is, does not
interfere in the process.
A consideration with double blind peer review is that by definition the reviewers are subject
matter experts on the topic of the paper and they can sometimes take an educated guess
as to who the authors or where the work was done.
Aside from single and double blind is the concept of open review.
This is when the authors and reviewers know who each other are.
On the plus side, it leads to a more transparent process.
On the downside, some fear that politeness or political correctness on the reviewers
may lead to reserved criticism, allowing inferior material to move forward into the publication
process.
Open review, while practiced by some notable publications, is not wide spread at this time.
The debate continues whether single blind or double blind is the most optimal form of
peer review.
A quick search of the web will yield several interesting studies about the benefits or
disadvantages of either one, as well as lots of personal commentary.
Human nature and a natural bias toward a specific topic or practice will make either single
blind or double blind potentially flawed.
A complete lack of conflicts of interest cannot be avoided because the reviewers are people.
Whether single or double blind, the best an author can do is choose a well-respected journal
that they are familiar with and submit meaningful work that is well written.
After that, it is up to the editor and the editorial board to facilitate a meaningful
peer review that is free of bias, conflict of interest, or agenda peddling.
This includes maintaining a well-respected board of experts that are current in their
fields and know what is expected of them when they provide a peer review.
Well that's it.

$67 Gets You a 6-Course Tasting Menu at NYC's Contra - Duration: 2:33.
The menu that we have right now at
Contra, the connecting thread is just a
seasonality of certain ingredients,
that happen to go together in New York.
You kind of have to find a real middle
ground between serving people who want
to try something that's really out there,
and who want to have something that's a
little bit more familiar. Me coming from
Mexico and Jeremiah having a Chinese
background, I think we really focused on
making something that people would think
it's very New York, and hopefully if
people eat it they'll kind of get the
perspective of the neighborhood.
Right now the menu is seven courses,
it's really affordable because there's
gonna be more vegetables, there's going
to be more ingredients that are lesser
known. The way we make the price point
possible is there's little things
that had to be stripped away — our tables
are smaller than like a fine dining
restaurant, our turns are a
little shorter than a usual restaurant,
so you'll be here for like two hours. I
think the price point changes the
experience because it kind of allows the
guests to enjoy the food and look at it
honestly. And I think also that they're
able to enjoy themselves without feeling
like they're going to spend three, four hundred
dollars. We usually have one dessert
that's a little more adventures and then
one that's a little more homey or
familiar for people. The first one is
bitter almond and grapefruit. Bitter
almond is something we use a lot in
savory and desserts, so there's like this
conversation all the time between savory
and pastry. The second dessert, it was
like a mix between a sundae and
the flavor of the caramelized rye.
It's like bitter and sour, so it's like
really nice with the strawberries and
the caramel.
For the future of Contra I'm excited
to continue to have people come in and
enjoy the menu that changes all the time,
week to week. This is the
restaurant that we always wanted to do
and now we have the opportunity.

The Danish Mohammed Cartoon Controversy and Free Speech- Learn Liberty - Duration: 5:28.
- You are sort of at the epicenter of everything
that our current free speech battle is all about.
So I guess I'm going to give you an open, easy question to start:
how did you end up in the middle of
this battle?
- Well, you know, I didn't choose this fight.
It was imposed upon me 11 years ago, when I was the editor
responsible for the publication of the so-called
Danish Muhammad cartoons.
They didn't come out of the blue,
as some people sometimes think.
They were published as a response to an ongoing
conversation in Denmark and Western Europe about the
problem of self-censorship when it comes to treating Islam.
And back then I think I was pondering two questions.
Is self-censorship taking place when it comes to dealing
with Islam?
Do we make a difference between Islam and other religions
and ideologies?
Question number one.
And question number two, if there is self-censorship,
is that self-censorship based in reality?
Or is it just the consequence of a sick imagination,
not based in reality?
Is the fear real or is it fake?
So 11 years later, I think we can say for sure,
the answer to both questions is yes.
There is self-censorship and the self-censorship is based in
reality because people were killed in Paris.
I live with body guards 24/7 when I'm back home in Denmark.
So it is a real problem.
- Yeah, it's so interesting to me that 11 years ago,
2005, you were addressing the idea of self-censorship
because that's obviously different than what we have here
with the First Amendment where the government can't
censor us. Because my awakening over the last couple years
about this has been about the self-censorship part.
That we are doing it to ourselves.
So just to back up to the specifics of what happened,
you guys solicited cartoons from people, right?
- Yes, I did, yes.
- So tell me about that process.
- It started with a children's book.
A Danish writer was writing a book about the life
of the Prophet Muhammad.
In Denmark when you publish a children's book,
you need illustrations of the main character.
I suppose you do the same here.
- Same here!
That goes across borders, yeah.
- And it turned out that the writer had difficulties
finding an illustrator who wanted to take on the job.
And he went public saying, you know,
"I've written this book, but I had difficulties finding
"an illustrator because of fear."
And the guy who finally took on the job insisted on
anonymity, which is a form of self-censorship.
You do not want to appear under your real name because you
are afraid of what might happen to you.
And, in fact, this illustrator later acknowledged
that he insisted on anonymity because he was afraid.
And he made a reference to the fate of Theo van Gogh,
a Dutch filmmaker who was killed in 2004 because of a
documentary he did that was critical of Islam.
- Who then many people know the note to Ayann Hirsi Ali,
who I think is one of the greatest people on planet earth,
saying that they were coming after her next.
- And the second individual was Salman Rushdie,
who in 1989 was the object of a fatwa by
Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran and had to live in hiding
for many years.
So that was the context.
And some people were saying, "Oh this was just a media
"stunt by this children's writer to sell more books."
Other people were saying, "No, there is self-censorship."
And through the commissioning of those cartoons,
I wanted to put focus on this issue.
Is self-censorship taking place or is it not?
How do illustrators and cartoonists in Denmark
face this issue?
And I received 12 cartoons that were published
September 30, 2005 and I wrote a short text laying out
the rationale behind this journalistic project.
I don't think that it in any way transgressed what
we usually do.
As an editor and journalist, if you hear about a problem,
you want to find out if it's true or not.
And in this case, we asked people not to talk,
but to show.
Not to tell, but to show how they look at this issue
of self-censorship.
And I think only 3 out of 12 cartoons depicted
the Prophet Muhammad.

Exile Guayla // The first Guayla break down - Duration: 9:01.
You can split "Guayla" into three descriptive categories:
Rhythm or Drum Beat
Dance
and Speed.
When describing the rhythm or drum beat, there are two distinct types:
The first type is typically heard in the majority of Tigrigna music in the Kebessa regions of Eritrea.
(sounds like)
The second type is heard in the area of Senafe (southern region in Eritrea), specifically in a village called Shimejana.
There is a slight distinct difference between the Kebessa rhythm and the Shimejana rhythm
(sounds like)
Therefore, Guayla rhythm can be split into two types: Senafe (Shimejana) type and Kebessa region type.
In terms of speed, Guayla can be performed in three types of speeds.
One type of speed of guayla music is called "Hazen", which is a slow speed.
(Hazen in Tigrigna means "grief" so, in music it would be sad/mellow sounding music).
An example of a "hazen" song is Segenay by Yemane Barya
In times of grief, when playing music the drum beat of the song is slowed down.
Then there is "mid-speed" which is the most commonly used speed for modern-day guayla music.
It is used by most of the singers/musicians
(for example in a wedding).
(The term "Fechew" was coined during the Eritrean struggle,
and it was famously known for its use by Eritrean legendary artist Wedi Tukul.)
Lastly, there is high speed which is also known as "fechew" type of beat.
Some of the new generation is also using this style of speed.
Therefore, guayla speed is described in three types: high, medium, and low.
In terms of Guayla dance, there are two types.
The first is the "normal" type, of which the majority of the Tigrigna people dance.
The second is called "Kuda Areza" (Kuda means "circling dance", and "Areza" is a village in Eritrea).
When people dance "Kuda Areza" it is described as "snake-like" or like the smooth running of a train.
One dancer will lead the group ("kelasi" or leader)
and the rest of the dancers will follow through in similar fashion.
I have examples prepared on my telephone to highlight the different descriptions in Guayla.
If you would like, I can share them.
The first song that I will play is an example of the first type of rhythm
that is majorly used by most guayla artists.
Second song example is of the second type of rhythm from Senafe,
from areas of Tserona or Shimejana (commonly played in the religious festival of Abune Ambes).
So, these are the two types of Guayla beats/rhythms.
It may seem like they are the same, but if you go into detail, you will understand the distinct difference.
Here is an example of the fast/high speed, also known as "fechew".
As mentioned earlier, there are three Guayla speeds.
This is an example of the slow speed, played in times of "Hazen", describing the people's grief.
Lastly this is an example of the most-commonly used speed, medium speed, or "normal" speed.
By the way, I played the saxophone in this particular song in Eritrea.
Finally, as we talked about earlier, there are two main dances in Guayla music.
This example is of the dance "Kuda Areza". Danced in the village of "Areza" and its surrounding areas.
The second example is majority style dance of guayla that everyone dances to.
So in conclusion, you can split guayla into dance, speed, and rhythm.
Rhythm is split in to two: Shimejana and Kebessa type.
Speed is split into three: "Hazen" or slow speed, normal/mid speed, and lastly "Fechew" or fast speed.
Lastly, there are two main types of dances:
Normal majority type that is danced by everyone and "Kuda Areza"
is more of the classic elegant type of guayla dance.

Why getting your finance pre-approved makes sense. - Duration: 1:34.
Hi, my name's Paul McKinley from Finance 48.
And this week we'd like to talk to you about why getting your finance pre-approved
makes sense for your next motor vehicle purchase.
So, one of the first reasons why we would suggest it's good idea to get some
pre-approved finance for your next car purchase is it gives you buying power.
If the dealer knows that you're approved on finance to start with,
then he's more inclined to negotiate on his price and it puts you in the driver's seat.
The next reason we would suggest it's worth getting your finance pre-approved is
that you know what your budget is.
You know what your weekly or monthly repayments are
and you know what dollar value car you can buy.
Another very good reason as to why you get to your finance pre-approved.
It gives you variety.
It gives you choice.
It might open up the range of makes and models that you're able to purchase
that you may not have considered before.
The next one is very important, okay.
Having your finance pre-approved gives you options as to where you're going to buy from.
So, whether or not you're buying from a dealer.
You're buying from a private seller.
You can go to Gumtree.
You can go to CarSales.
You've got a wide choice of vendors or suppliers out there.
You're driving it.
You make the choices.
Okay.
You're not limited to just a particular dealer.
And another key factor is it's a time saver.
Having that finance pre-approved is great.
Because when you do find the car that you want and having it pre-approved,
once we sign your paperwork,
we can have you into the seat within the next 24 hours.
It happens pretty quickly from there.
You don't have to go through the application process and then wait.
Because when do we want our new car.
We want it now

Above, On, & Beside - Duration: 1:28.
Have you ever moved to a new city or home?
Listen to this story about moving
into a new apartment and learn how to
use the prepositions on, above, and beside.
Last week my friend helped me move into
a new apartment. Can you put the books on
that shelf please? Sure.
And should I hang this painting above
the desk? Yes, thanks. And can you bring me
the lamp? I want to put it beside the bed.
Of course.
On means in contact with the top of
something. The flowers are on the desk.
She put the pillow on the chair. Above
means higher than something. The picture
is above the sink. The lights are above
the counter. Beside means to the side of.
The plant is beside the couch. He put the
lamp beside the chair. Now it's your turn.
Click pause and use on, above, and beside
to describe where the flowers, the
painting, and the box are.
This is American English. Thank you for watching.

Going mountain biking in Syöte Finland? This is the cycling equipment you will find - Duration: 2:56.
Pekka runs the bike rental service here in Syöte.
Let's see what kind of gear they have available.
There are two kinds of bikes here:
fatbikes and traditional mountain bikes with full suspension.
A mountain bike like this is good for every situation.
If you're in a hurry, you can go fast, but you can also take it slow.
The bikes are well-equipped, and the full suspension guarantees a smooth ride.
Both the front and rear shocks can be locked.
The seatpost is stepless.
A pump, and naturally a puncture repair kit and tire tools for every bike.
The other option is a fatbike.
Riding a fatbike is particularly nice and smooth.
It's like driving an old American car.
Four-inch tires. Tools are included.
It can also be fitted with clipless pedals, so take your own cycling shoes with you.
You also get a helmet and gloves, both very important for protection.
The staff helps you choose a bike of the right size -
and adjusts it according to your measures.
You're about 190 cm tall, so let's try the L size.
Get on the saddle and we'll adjust the height.
Grip the brake lever and pedal backwards, -
so we'll see if the saddle is at the right height.
We could raise it just a bit.
Just a bit. There, now it's straight.
Try it again now.
Looks pretty good.
See if you can move your bottom behind and under the saddle.
Yes! Looks pretty good.
Next, we'll adjust the shocks.
Sit on the bike normally.
Let's put some more air here.
Now, let's look at the front.
Let's open it up.
You can get off the bike now.
It could use some air. It should sink a bit more under your weight.
Right about there.
Let's put some more air in the shocks, -
because the previous cyclist was clearly lighter.
We need to adjust them according to the cyclist's weight.
Same thing here.
If needed, we can also adjust the handlebar or saddle position, for example.
But the bike is now pretty much ready to ride.

ZERIF PRO EXTENDED DEMO Hi, my name is Robert from Themeisle.com and
today I'll show you how you can set up ZERIF PRO WordPress theme to look and work as the
demo, but with a little twist.
Keep watching this video to see how.
INTRO 1.
INSTALL & ACTIVATE You can use this theme for any type of business,
including an eshop.
First of all, you need to download the theme from our website then upload, install and
activate it using the license from your purchase history.
2.
RECOMMENDED PLUGINS After this is set and done, you'll get some
plugin recommendations.
I suggest you install all of them even the Revive Old Post.
This WordPress plugin helps you to keep your old posts alive by sharing them and driving
more traffic from Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
You'll get the links for these plugins in the description below.
Activate those plugins then move over to the Live Demo of Zerif Pro WordPress Theme on
our website.
3.
DEMO OVERVIEW This is the the homepage with a big title
section and call to action buttons over a full screen image.
You can activate or deactivate those buttons and i'll show you how to do itin the next
minutes.
Scrolling down, you will see more awesome sections such as the portfolio where you can
showcase your work.
Back to the top, this beautiful menu with intuitive icons for your WordPress website
can be done by following the instructions in another video suggested right now at the
top corner of this screen.
Watch this video until the end for a detailed demonstration abot how to implement a fully
functional online shop into this website.
Now, let's go back into our dashboard and start with the first customizable section.
4.
SITE IDENTITY Here, you are able to upload a custom logo,
set the Site Title, Tagline and upload a custom graphic used as a browser and app icon.
5.
SECTIONS ORER In the sections order, as its name implies,
you can rearrange the homepage sections according to your preferences.
I'll keep it how it is by default now.
6.
COLORS The Colors Section gives you the way to play
around with the Footer Colors, General Colors, and the Buttons Colors.
7.
GENERAL OPTIONS This section is where you can choose to use
safe fonts, disable the preloader, disable smooth scroll, enable accessibility and type
in your own Footer Copyright or even the custom Google Analytics code.
The last options are to change the template to full width for all the pages, display featured
image in posts and display featured image in pages.
Set your personal contact information in the Footer Section options.
Type your email to replace the default one inside this code to be clickable and do the
same with all of the necessary information here.
Hit the Save & Publish button after finishing a section to be sure you'll never lose the
changes already done.
Paste all of your preferred social media profile links into the Social Options fields then
move to Footer Area 1 to 3 and insert any widget you wish to display here.
8.
BACKGROUND You can customize the Background settings
here, using four options including a slider or a background video.
9.
BIG TITLE SECTION The Big Title Section is what every visitor
sees first on landing here, and it is an important part of your website.
If you check this box, the section will disappear from the homepage.
I'll recommend to keep this section active.
Change the text in every field with your own and set links to the active buttons.
If you wish to deactivate a button or both just delete the text in that particular field
and the button will disappear.
If buttons will remain active, set the colors for them here including text and hover effects,
and you can also set the big title background color and text color.
Parallax Effect is something unique you can set here using two images; one for the background
and another one with transparency in the foreground.
All of the recommended dimensions for images can be found at the bottom of the page you
can access with click to Theme Info then View Documentation.
Now let's start customizing the sections below.
10.
OUR FOCUS SECTION This is the first section a visitor sees after
scrolling down.
Here you can set the Main Title and a suggestive Subtitle about what your business is focused
on.
Set the colors for every box then add four Our Focus widgets.
Fill in the blank fields for every box with custom text and images then move to the next
section.
11.
PORTFOLIO SECTION You need to have at last one portfolio item
created in order to activate this section.
(my suggestion is to create minimum four items) Back in your dashboard, hover with your mouse
over the Portfolio in the left menu then Add New.
Set the title, text and most importantly choose a featured image.
Add the portfolio item to a specific category then hit publish.
Repeat this process for every item in your Portfolio.
Go back to the customizer for this section and check out the results when it's activated.
You can choose to open the portfolio items in a lightbox and this is a good strategy
to keep your visitors on your homepage after they hit the close button.
Set the maximum number of portfolio items to display (at last 4 for best visual experience)
then set the Content, the single page display option, and colors as you wish.
12.
ABOUT US SECTION In the about us section, the first option
is to check to hide it but I keep it active for now.
The main content is where you set the title, subtitle, the left side content and the middle
content.
You have four features here that can be set from 1 to 100% with different colors for every
item.
Use those features to show up your skills, for example.
Next is to set up the background color, title color, numbers color, and clients title color.
If your business is older and have some happy clients, you can show them up here by activating
the About Us Section Widgets with the custom Zerif - Clients Widget.
Add a title, a link and an image then hit Apply.
Repeat the process for all of your happy clients you wish to be displayed here then click Save
& Publish just after you set a preferred title in the last option of this section.
13.
OUR TEAM SECTION Do you have a team with nice people working
hard to make your clients happy?
Show them up in this section using the options to set a custom title and subtitle in the
header area.
Set the colors for this section then move to the Our Team Section Widgets and click
to Add a Zerif - Team Member Widget.
Fill up every field with proper information and set an image for that member than do the
same for every member of your team.
14.
TESTIMONIALS SECTION Here is the section I encourage you to use
often to show up honest testimonials from your clients.
Type a compelling title and subtitle, choose matching colors then add content to as many
Widgets you might wish to be displayed.
15.
RIBBON SECTIONS The Ribbon Sections are colorful options to
display text near a call to action button with custom colors for background and the
button.
The button link might redirect to a landing page for your products or services but keep
in mind to create one before moving on.
16.
SHORTCODES SECTION Shortcodes are custom elements that can carry
on an email signup form, for example, or an image slider.
You can play around here with almost unlimited options and add as many new fields as you
wish to use.
17.
CONTACT US SECTION Set the Main Content title, subtitle with
custom text, choose the colors and the Contact Us Sections is done!
Save & Publish then move to the next section.
18.
PACKAGES SECTION The Packages Section is where you can display
prices and details about your products or services using the Zerif - Package Widget.
Set the color, title, subtitle, price, currency, price meta, button label, button link (even
affiliate link), tick to open in a new window if needed, then type short phrases describing
your offer in the item fields.
Click Apply then do the same for every Package until the last one.
19.
GOOGLE MAP SECTION For the Google Map section, you just need
to simply type in your business address.
Check the show google map section box to activate it.
To get more advanced maps options please install the WordPress Google Maps Plugin.
20.
LATEST NEWS SECTION The Latest News section is where you show
up all of your latest posts from your blog.
Just keep in mind to tick the Show latest news section in settings here.
21.
SUBSCRIBE SECTION The easiest way to activate this section is
adding a blog subscriptions widget powered by jetpack.
Remove the main title and subtitle in the header, set the background color to white
then Add a Widget named Blog Subscriptions and fill every field with your own custom
text.
Set the Visibility then hit Apply.
22.
MENUS (with scrolling how to) Your menus and menu items can be created here,
and for a finishing touch with intuitive icons click to watch the suggested video above,
created especially for this purpose.
To connect every menu item with the specific section of the home page, you need to set
anchors for them in your menu settings.
Create custom links and copy the anchors from Theme Info by clicking the View Documentation.
From here, you can copy and paste every anchor as needed.
#focus for Our Focus section, #aboutus for the About Us section, #works anchor for Portfolio
and so on.
You might notice here the Mega Menu with two columns and intuitive icons.
Follow the video suggested at the right top corner of this screen to see how easy it is
to set it up for yourself.
23.
WIDGETS Widgets are elements in your sidebar area
on a page or post that can be added, edited or be removed from here.
Set content for your widgets in the footer area by accessing the widgets in your appearance
menu.
24.
STATIC FRONT PAGE Keep the static front page as your latest
posts for this setup, but you are free to create a custom page anytime.
25.
ADITIONAL CSS Using your CSS knowledge and only if you know
what to do, type here your code to change some default CSS of this theme.
26.
RELATED POSTS The jetpack plugin is active and configured,
so the last section is something you can use to gain more visibility for other blog posts
with a visually compelling style at the end of each post.
27.
WOOCOMMERCE HOW TO The video about how to set up an online shop
on this website using the Wocommerce Plugin is here for you as i mentioned!
