Waching daily Feb 26 2018

posture is incredibly important and many people are concerned today I'm going to

show you some simple exercises to improve your posture hey I'm Dr. Ekberg

with Wellness For Life and by subscribing to our videos you'll learn

everything that you need to know to master true health posture is so

important and we know that people have good posture they feel more confident

they feel better about themselves they perform better we also know that perfect

good posture improves movement and movement creates better signals and

better signals feed the brain so you could even have a depression that is

caused partially by poor posture and you could have relieved that depression by

improving a posture now that's not the only factor but it is worthwhile paying

attention to so let me show you some really really simple things that you can

do these are called three winged friends the first is the Eagle and then the

hummingbird and then the butterfly so the Eagle we stand straight we square up

our shoulders we move the head back so it's balancing on top of the spine we

move the arms straight out to the side and then we rotate the palms straight up

this is called external rotation and I'll explain in a little bit why that's

so important you go as far as you can and then you move straight up and if you

can keep your arms straight and have your palms meet in the middle that's

perfect if you can't don't worry grab your fingers clasp your hands and

stretch straight up you can add a little bit of stretch so you kind of push one

shoulder up toward the ceiling and then the other and then you take a deep

breath in and exhale

all right so just do that if you do it real slow you could do it once if you do

it a little faster you could do it a couple of times but it's not something

that you want to do four minutes at a time it's a very very brief exercise so

these exercises work the best if you do a little bit often don't try to do 10-15

minutes at a time do one minute but do it five six seven times a day the second

one is called the hummingbird and there's two ways to do this you stretch

straight out you move your shoulder blades back you pull back as if you're

trying to squeeze your shoulder blades together and then you make little

circles just like a two inch circle with your fingertips and you do a little bit

backwards and a little bit forwards and then you relax shake it loose if you

don't have so much space or if you want to try a variety of that then you do

this and you pull your shoulder blades back you move your hands back so you

have as much external rotation as possible and you make little circles and

you make little circles perfect the last one is called a butterfly I'll show it

first from the front and then from the side because this one's a little tricky

so put your hands behind your head and then stand up straight open up your arms

wide and then push your head straight back then you hold out for 10-15 seconds

and you can kind of pump your head back into your hands a little bit so let me

show you that one again straight from the side like this

and what you're trying to do is you're trying to get what's called a

translation you're not tilting back but you're moving it straight back it's like

you're giving yourself a little bit of a double chin

very good and you just hold that for 10-15 seconds and so the whole thing can

actually be done in about a minute no more than two but then you do this many

many times throughout the day so you make it a habit one reason why posture

is so important is that we have two basic divisions of our autonomic nervous

system one is called a stress response or fight/flight and one is called the

relaxation response or feed breed and these work kin opposite each other so

when we have a fight flight response we activate flexors and flexors tend to

have a default dominance by default we they tend to fire first if nothing else

happens their kind of fire just to make sure now

with sitting we tend to already go into a little bit of flexion we round the

shoulders out we tend to have anterior head carriage because when we sit down

we lose the arch the lumbar lordosis and as soon as we lose that then the head

follows through so these these curves depend on each other they work together

and when we reverse one curve in the low back we automatically reverse the one in

the neck as well and we end up with a reverse cervical curve now most of us

work spend a lot of hours at a computer and now it gets even worse

first we sit down we round out the back and then we're trying to see what's on

the screen so we sit like this for eight hours a day and then we type on the

keyboard so now we round all of these motions are involving flexion and

pronation internal rotation pronation flexion these motions all go together

and when we do something a lot then that becomes a habit

if these motions are already part of a stress response and we're stressed and

we do this a lot now that pathway that behavior that habit gets really really

strongly ingrained so what we can do to counteract this is to do the opposite

now when we stand up straight when we move the head back when we pull the

shoulders back when we turn the hands out

we are opposing all those we're doing extension and we're doing external

rotation and supination so all the exercises that I showed you involve

extension external rotation and supination so you're activating the

pathway that is opposite the stress response that's why it's so powerful

that's why you can actually feel better you can feel a change in your emotional

state you can notice a change in your physiology

almost immediately after doing a few stretches like that so I would suggest

that you give these stretches a try they're excellent for improving posture

during excellent for improving mood and they will improve your health in the

long run as well you can do them seated at your desk you can even sort of

disguise it a little bit if you want to don't want to be too obvious then as

you're sitting there you have a timer go off at your computer and you just kind

of roll your hands back a little bit and stretch and then you stick your hands

behind your head and you do this and you stretch your arms a little bit and no

one's gonna really think that looks too strange once you go to the bathroom if

you go up to the water cooler if you take an elevator I do this every time

that I pump gas for example so there's lots of opportunities for us we just

need to make it a little bit of a habit and over time these habits make a huge

change so an easy way that you can notice if you're making progress that

you can gauge your progress is if you just stand like this and you just shake

your hands loose you just see where your hands end up

then if your palms are facing back then you still have a lot of dominance of

internal rotation once you get a balance between external rotation and internal

rotation meaning your brain is also getting more balanced then your palms

are going to be ending up facing in toward your body this one you can check

pretty easy for yourself and you can also notice that you get less rounding

of the shoulders they start coming back something you have to ask someone else

about is if you stand straight from the side then the front of your ear is

supposed to line up with the center of your shoulder so that's another gauge to

see if you have anterior head carriage most people have at least an inch

usually two inches of anterior head carriage and this is not going to change

quickly but if you do these exercises regularly over a year or two you can

bring your posture back so you have a perfectly perfectly lined up posture let

me know how this works for you give it a try be consistent for a few weeks or a

few months and then let me know about your experiences ask me if you have any

questions and I'll be more than happy to clarify or answer any questions or maybe

do another video if there's some details that you have that you need more

information about thanks for watching hit that thumbs up and the subscribe

"I See You" - Duration: 5:01.

(peaceful music)

- Hi, I'm Naomi.

- Hi, I'm Mckenna.

- [Both] And together we are lifesavers.

- This time last year, my daughter gave birth

to my beautiful granddaughter,

and about three weeks later, my nephew's wife gave birth

to another beautiful baby girl, and they both adjusted.

They seemed to adjust to motherhood in a very positive way.

- We ended up doing like our baby classes together

so for breastfeeding and just kinda getting ready

for having the baby.

- I mean the pictures that were out there,

they're everywhere you know.

Every time they did something new, they needed to share it

and it's been great.

It's been wonderful to see these pictures.

But they've both ended up experiencing

changes obviously in their life.

- About eight months in is when I kinda noticed

that things weren't seeming very right,

just especially with not only my relationship with Adelyn

but my relationship with my husband

and the rest of my family too.

- She came to me and she was very concerned

about how she was feeling, and I was so grateful.

I mean obviously I was very concerned

about what she was telling me and how she was feeling.

But in the same sense I was very grateful that she felt

that she could open up to me and share that with me.

And it was a good thing, you know.

I encouraged her to go and see her primary care physician,

which she did, and she received the care

that she needed.

But unfortunately with my nephew's wife,

she didn't reach out.

She didn't communicate with people in how she was feeling

internally and obviously was struggling with many issues

that none of us knew about.

And when her daughter was about nine months old,

that's when she unfortunately took her own life.

- So when I sat here and I thought about

well, how could she leave her child behind,

like what could be so bad, it was hard for me to think that

there's people out there that they just can't handle

the emotions and they don't know why they feel the way

that they do feel.

And I think that's why I want to get the point across

that you don't want to leave your child behind

and because situations are so bad, that's when you realize

that you need to get help,

and you need to have somebody to understand

what you're going through.

And so I think that was like the difference between us is

that she didn't realize what was happening

and why it was happening and so she wasn't able

to get the help when she needed it.

- I'm here to tell my story, to tell our family story

because I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

I want there to be changes in how we care for patients.

We still have the stigma about seeking care

for mental health issues,

and that sigma needs to go away.

There's nothing wrong with it.

It's a good thing to receive care.

To be a lifesaver, you need to recognize

when you are not feeling right

and seek help for yourself

because then you're gonna save your own life.

In addition, if you recognize and see people around you

that are having issues, are they getting angry,

are they just kind of withdrawn,

I mean there's a lot of signs that are out there

that you can watch for.

They're just not being themselves.

You can be a lifesaver by intervening with that person,

getting them the help that they need,

talking to them, getting them to open up

so they don't bottle it up inside of them.

- To be a lifesaver, just know that it's okay

that there's so much help out there.

There are so many people that want to listen to you

and they want to help you.

They want to help you get through these times.

And believe it or not, it does get better, it really does.

And the outcome is completely worth it.

So if you need the help, just get the help.

Come here, come here.

How To Iron A Suit, Blazer or Sport Coat - How To Press Suits, Sleeves, Back... Gentleman's Gazette - Duration: 12:46.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette and part four to our series about ironing.

Today we discuss how to iron a suit jacket or press a sport coat.

Many people are hesitant to press a jacket and even a tailor can sometimes takes 30 to

45 minutes to completely and accurately press a jacket.

Unfortunately the procurement tailors use is very expensive but I'll still show

you a way on how you can press a jacket at home with a very minimal investment in equipment.

First of all the easiest way to remove wrinkles from a jacket especially that is made out

of wool is with the steam.

The least expensive way is to hang your jacket on a hanger with

wide shoulder pads because it keeps the shape of the shoulder and then simply hang it in

your bathroom, turn on the hot water, let it sit in there so you create a lot of steam.

Let the jacket hang there overnight in the morning at least the most extreme wrinkles

should have come out.

An even better and faster alternative to the bathroom is to invest in a steamer.

Usually about 100 bucks will get you a long way then you will end up something that produce

a lot of steam and you could just steam your jacket when it hangs on a hanger.

It has the advantage that you can de-wrinkle specific areas such as the sleeve head, the

sleeve or the back and honestly it works really really well.

I had a suit shipped to me in very little packages and they came out looking really

really bad but if it's a quality cloth it will release wrinkles when it's steamed as

long as it is made of wool.

If you have a jacket like with linen or cotton you'll have to iron out and press it.

They're a little more difficult to iron but it's not impossible.

If you have a linen jacket you can skip the cloth because it can bear a lot of heat you

just crank up the temperature all the way and you go to the maximum steam setting.

The more steam the better!

If you just have a regular ironing board and an iron you're quite limited in what you can

do when it comes to pressing.

The easiest areas are flat areas such as the front quarters maybe the pockets and the pocket

flaps the center back seam and if you really want to you can also try yourselves on the

sleeves.

Just like with pants, drying two layers of fabric on top of each other which is not ideal

but doable.

If you want to iron your jackets at home I strongly suggest to invest about $35 into

a sleeve board and into a tailor's ham. Those two things will make it much easier to iron

your jacket and you can actually iron any part of the jacket to achieve a really wonderful

good proper result.

If money is of no concern to you definitely invest in that vacuum table because it sucks

away all the steam and it will give you better result without any waves and it's just also

quicker to iron.

First, I suggest you start with the body and you can lay it over the tip of the ironing

board similarly to a shirt.

Carefully work on the front quarters.

To prevent your jacket from getting shiny it pays to have a pressing cloth which could

be made of linen maybe an old t-shirt that you cut and generally want something that

has no lint and no fuzz.

Simply put between the iron and the garment and pull at the edges so you can see what's

going on while you iron.

The next step up from this is to get a Teflon sole because it will prevent the fabric from

getting shiny but you can see everything that's going on.

Once you're done with the front quarters it's time to go to the lapels.

Personally I really much prefer to iron the lapels on a tailor's ham and a sleeve board

because you get that natural rounding that the lapel has on your body.

A quality handmade jacket is always identifiable by their lapel roll.

Cheap suits or some that were pressed cheaply have very flat pressed lapel area and you

should avoid that at all cost because it makes it look cheap and you don't want that.

To increase the lapel roll you can even iron the lapel in the beginning part from the back

which really helps to achieve this beautiful bespoke style roll.

Don't iron over the lapel line that's folded because otherwise it's stiff and flat.

Once you're done with that you could iron the back area of the jacket.

That's easily done even on a regular ironing board with a regular iron.

Just pay attention to the seams which is the center seam and try to not press hard on them

but slightly on the side that way you won't see the pattern of the seams on the outside

of the fabric.

That's especially important with thinner more flimsy fabrics.

The same is true when ironing for example the corners of your back vents.

If you want a crisp result you can use a clapper to get that nice crease.

Next up it's time to iron sleeves and that's when a sleeve board comes in really really

handy.

Better than ironing two layers of fabric at the same time I prefer to have one layer of

fabric but a sleeve is usually never just straight.

Don't worry if there is a slight curve and you want to maintain that curve by ironing

in that same fashion.

Mostly for this I know are straight and so it's a little challenge but you can do it

by follow the patterns on the jacket sleeve.

If there's no pattern simply take that motion in a slight banana curve.

When you do that try to keep the curve of the sleeve

and don't press the edges otherwise you get a military-style look that looks very un-advantageous

on a regular jacket in my opinion.

Similarly to a shirt sleeve you simply rotate the sleeve and that way you ensure to have

a nice even result without any wrinkles and without any military crease on your sleeve.

Stay clear of the sleeve head which is better ironed using a tailor's ham.

You can really prop it in there, try to adjust it, pull things flat ideally over the sleeve

board because that way it drapes more easily nothing is in your way and you can just focus

on ironing.

It's a lot easier that way.

Use steam gentle motions and don't press too hard on it so you remove all the wrinkles.

When you're done with that slightly adjust the tailor's ham so you can iron the front

part of the chest as well as the back.

Again think about jackets when it's worn.

From the top here you want to go and iron in lines down and keep that same shape, same

in the back.

With that center seam and so you go in the shape it drapes over the body.

Gently use steam.

Now you can also iron the back area underneath the collar

and also the collar itself.

It's very difficult or next to impossible to iron a collar on a flat ironing board.

You need the sleeve board and a tailors ham so it can roll and drape nicely and just iron

little parts of it.

If you have patch pockets you can use the sleeve board as well to iron them and then

maybe the clapper on top to get a straight edge.

At this point you're basically done with your jacket.

Ideally you put it in a hanger or even better a mannequin so you can really look it over

and see any areas that you might have missed or it just got wrinkles while you were ironing

other parts.

Again take a look at the lapels.

Make sure the roll is there.

There is no puckering or any waviness.

Look at the shoulders, look at the sleeves again because sometimes you see creases on

the inside of the elbow or usually jackets crease above the bum around the waist level

in the back.

Last but not the least you may not be happy with the wrinkles in the lining.

Now ideally use your iron and hover over it with a steam and pull it at the same time

that will likely release most of the wrinkles.

If it doesn't you can gently press it or use a steamer that produces even more steam than

the regular iron and you should be good to go.

Just be careful not to press too hard because otherwise you may end up with wrinkles on

the outside of the jacket which is a lot worse than in the lining.

Alright now you know how to iron a jacket at home!

If you haven't already done so please check out part 1, 2 & 3 of this ironing series.

We talked about the equipment, how to iron dress shirts and how to iron dress pants.

In today's video I am wearing a red, white and blue check shirt with barrel cuffs because

it's easier than French cuffs when you iron.

I also skipped the jacket because I wanted a full range of movement so I'm not hindered

when I iron.

So I just opted for a blue Harris tweed vest.

I combined it with a Bordeaux red silk knit tie from Fort Belvedere and a pair of off-white

wool flannel winter pants.

White or off white winter flannels are not something you typically see these days but they were

quite popular in the 30s.

My shoes are full brogue derby wingtips in a nice chestnut brown and I combine them with

a pair of light pink and gray socks that provide just enough contrast between the shoes and the pants.

They're from Fort Belvedere and you can find out all of the accessories in our shop here.

Designer Dogs 101: What the Heck is a Designer Dog? - Animal Facts - Duration: 7:40.

What the Heck is a Designer Dog?

Well, you clicked, so you probably want to know.

Did Louise Vuitton design a dog to go along with your expensive purse?

Well, not quite, but some think that's exactly what happened.

Let's find out.

Let's get started.

But, before we start, take a moment to like and subscribe for more fun, fauna facts.

If you do a Google search to define designer dog, you will inevitably come to this top

Urban Dictionary definition from 2008.

"Designer Dog -What irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy mills call mutts and sell

for exorbitant amounts of money."

It seems that many of the definitions found on the site follow suit.

But, is there more to it?

Are designer dogs more than just mutts with hefty price tags?

And are designer dogs more than just a passing fad?

We publish every Monday and Friday.

So, hit that notification icon to not miss a single fact.

Well, how did the designer dog trend start?

Throughout human history, man has bred dogs to achieve offspring good at performing specific

tasks.

From hunting dogs to herding dogs, most of the purebred dogs we know today are indeed

mixes of other dogs either still around or extinct.

One such purebred dog with mixed breed roots is the Rat Terrier.

The Rat Terrier recipe ended up with more than seven ingredients, including Smooth Fox

Terrier, the now-extinct Old English White Terrier, Manchester Terrier, Bull Terrier,

Whippet, Italian Greyhound, and Beagle.

Whew… that was a lot.

Yet, the Rat Terrier is considered a breed and recognized by the American Kennel Club

and the United Kennel Club.

Before the term "designer dog" came into vogue, there was the Cockapoo – a hybrid

breed that came into popularity in the 1960's.

This breed is the combination of a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle.

He's been quite the popular pet known for his intelligence and affection.

Nowadays, the Cockapoo breed is considered one of the founding fathers of the "designer

dogs", but the term doesn't appear until decades later.

That honor goes to the Labradoodle, which as the name suggest is a cross between a Labrador

Retriever and a Standard Poodle.

The Labradoodle is often cited as creating the "designer dog' craze with a little

help from the media.

The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the

Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia

in Victoria.

Conron wanted to combine the low-shedding coat of the poodle with the gentleness and

trainability of a Labrador retriever, to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies

to fur and dander.

The resulting dog was a success.

Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs,

as well as being popular family dogs.

The name Labradoodle, like Cockapoo, is a portmanteau, a word created by smashing two

words together.

It's become the norm in designer dog naming.

Conron may have created the fad, but he has since repeatedly stated he regrets initiating

the fashion for this type of crossbreed and maintains it caused "a lot of damage" and

"a lot of problems".

The problem?

No one wanted Labrador mixes.

"I had to come up with a gimmick," Conron said.

"We came up with the name 'Labradoodle' [and] we told people we had a new dog and

all of sudden, people wanted this wonder dog."

"You can't walk down the street without seeing a poodle cross of some sort.

I just heard about someone who wanted to cross a poodle with a rottweiler.

How could anyone do that?" he said.

"That's a trend I started."

It did become a trend.

It seems that every combination of dog imaginable has been tried.

We've got Puggles (Poodle and Beagle Mixes), Chiweenies (Chihuahua-Dachshund mixes) and

everything else imaginable.

While Poodles are often one of the two parents (mostly for their intelligence and no shed

coat) it seems that no two dogs are off-limits to be designer dog crosses.

Currently, the fad has slowed, especially compared to its height in the 1990's.

But it's still alive and well.

One of the newest designer dogs to hit the scene is the Pomsky.

This cross between the Pomeranian and Siberian Husky created in 2012 has swept the Internet.

The puppies are adorable, no doubt.

So, I guess you're asking, "What's the difference between a designer dog and a mutt?"

A mutt, also referred to as a random-bred dog, results from breeding different purebreds

or other mixed-breed dogs together.

The dogs have no pedigree, and usually are the result of accidental matings.

It's difficult if not impossible to predict what these puppies will look like or how they'll

behave.

Mixed breed dogs make wonderful pets, though.

They are a popular choice for pets all over the world.

The term "designer dog" refers to a hybrid.

Hybrids are created by combining existing breeds to form new ones.

They are intentionally paired usually and the heritage of the parents is known in a

true designer dog.

Breeders dedicated to establishing the variety as a true breed work to establish a predictable

type, working with several generations of dogs.

But the line between the two is not always so well defined.

The designer dog label today is used to market hybrid dogs, which may (or may not) be more

healthy, cute, trainable or any other fill-in-the-blank claim.

Puppy mills jumped on the designer dog bandwagon to create boatloads of interesting mixes they

sell for high prices, all with the portmanteau style names.

Sometimes it seems that the name is more important than breed comparability or desirable traits

of the resulting dog.

"Oh, those two names sound cute smashed together, breed it."

Shelters have even gotten in on the action.

Shelters sometimes label mixed breeds as a designer breed to promote adoptions.

Conron's misgivings were not about creating the Labradoodle.

This designer dog has been a wonderful service dog, proving not only great at being a guide

dog for the blind but as a helping companion for people with all types of physical and

mental handicaps.

His misgiving seems to stem from the fact that living creatures have become a fad, that

designer dog breed names were being used as a marketing ploy, and that labels were more

important than the dogs' well being.

So, what do you think?

Do you share Conron's concerns?

Are designer dogs just high-priced mutts?

Let's discuss it in the comments below.

Thanks for watching.

You Need To Be A '90s Kid To Remember These Things - Duration: 6:33.

Aaah… the 90s!

A decade that will go down in history for its terrible fashion and bowl cut hairstyles.

But let me assure you that, despite its outward appearance, the 90s were truly a phenomenal

decade.

It was the decade that witnessed the birth of the sitcom Friends, the greatness of Michael

Jordan, and the sweet, sweet tunes of the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girl.

And while the grown ups who lived through the 90s prepared themselves for the certain

zombie apocalypse that awaited them in the year 2000, for kids it was a decade filled

with treasures and memories that children from future generations will never have the

privilege of understanding.

So as you peruse this list, be prepared to experience a true blast from the past.

Try and relish in the memories of simpler times, in this episode of the infographics

show, 10 things only 90s kids will remember.

10 - Playing Tetris on a black and white Game Boy

Before the days of smartphones and tablets, kids had to find other ways to pass the time.

Cue the Game Boy.

This grey, brick-sized video game device with its fuchsia buttons and interchangeable game

cartridges endlessly entertained a whole generation of children during the 90s.

And the game that was a must for all Game Boy owners?

Tetris.

Hours a day were spent rotating different-shaped tiles as they dropped down the screen, and

perfectly stacking them to create horizontal lines with no gaps.

Trust me, it was quite the addiction!

9 - Hacky Sacks These multi colored, crocheted balls filled

with sand or plastic pellets were all the rage with 90s kids.

Whether it was kicking it around with a circle of friends or showing off in front of your

high school crush, the aim of this entertaining game was to prevent the Hacky Sack from touching

the ground, using any part of your body except your hands and arms.

And if you were a real pro, you could prove your skills by catching the ball with the

back of your neck or bouncing it off your chest and knees.

It certainly required mad skills!

8 - VHS and Blockbuster Move over, Netflix!

You may be the new kid on the block, but it's the VHS that is the true hipster!

Every 90s kid had stacks of their favorite video tapes in their homes, which they would

watch tirelessly day after day and obviously know by heart.

And if they didn't happen to own a particular movie?

Fear not!

They would head down to the nearest Blockbuster and, for a couple of bucks, rent out the latest

releases.

And if you truly were a regular at your local video rental store, you would know the VHS

golden rule: Be kind, rewind!

7 - A different form of texting However hard the current generation may find

it to believe, Samsungs and iPhones were not always around, texting has not always been

a thing, and owning your own mobile device as a teenager was unheard of!

This made it so much more of a challenge to share with your BFF that essential piece of

gossip while sitting in class.

But trust Millennials to find a way.

A sheet of paper torn out of your notebook, some super-cool handwriting, preferably bubble

letters, and some impressive folding skills, these 90s "text messages" were passed

across classrooms worldwide until they were delivered into the waiting hands of your trusty

bosom-buddy.

6 - The disappointing CD leaflet without song lyrics in them

Before the days of easy internet access and a quick Google search, kids relied on the

leaflets inside CD boxes to be able to accurately sing along to their favorite hits.

There are not many feelings of disappointment that hit as deep as when you had been saving

up for a new CD and you are finally able to rush down to the store to buy it, rushing

home and putting it into the CD player, ready to belt out alongside Britney or Christina

and realize that this CD leaflet, instead of containing all the juicy lyrics, simply

have the copyrights and the artists' "thank you's."

You know all those hilarious videos of misheard lyrics?

They originated in the 90s.

5 - Pixelated Super Mario Bros on Nintendo 64

Many a hang-out session with friends in the 90s consisted of crowding around a TV and

taking turns playing Super Mario Bros on a bulky Nintendo 64.

But this wasn't the smooth, slick and shiny Mario of modern-day video games.

This Mario was a very square-looking little man, with completely indistinguishable facial

features, running around a very square-looking world with his very square-looking friends.

That was the 90s, folks!

None of this high definition nonsense!

4 - Multifunction pens Every pencil case of every cool kid that was

in school during the 90s was required to have one of these multifunction pens in it.

Blue, black, red and green: these colors were absolutely essential in one's pencil case

and how better to have them than in one of those awesome 4-in-1 pens!

But then things got truly out of control when they released the new and improved version

with no less than 8 colors!

True, the yellow pen seemed completely useless, but the point was that with one of these in

your pencil case, you were unstoppable!

And it doesn't matter how many times you tried, and we did all try it at least once,

pulling two colors at once never actually worked!

3 - Making mix tapes by recording from the radio

If there is one thing that the 90s will be forever remembered for, it is mix tapes.

You gave them to your boyfriend, to your best friend, to your siblings, to your parents

and, of course, you would have an entire collection of theses babies stashed away in a drawer

somewhere.

But making a mix tape required a certain skill…

Do you remember coming home from school and, before doing anything else, you would run

to turn on the radio on your cassette player?

That's right!

Hours on end were spent listening to the radio waiting for your favorite tunes to come on

to quickly press the Play and Record buttons to catch as much of your favorite songs and

possible.

There was definitely an art to it!

2 - Pokémon trading cards We all know that the cool kids today are playing

Pokémon GO.

It's on social media, it's on the news, it's in magazines…

Anywhere you look, it's all about Pokémon GO.

But what this generation of kiddies doesn't realize is that there really is nothing new

under the sun and that Pokémon is so, like, twenty-five years ago.

In the good old days, when phones were used, shockingly, to make calls and not play games,

Pokémon was all the rage and every kid's life ambition was to "catch 'em all".

Too many monthly allowances were spent buying Pokémon trading cards and making deals with

your friends in order to get as many of these elusive, quirky creatures as possible.

1 - Paper Fortune Tellers Every 90s kid had mastered the art of carefully

folding a square piece of paper to create a paper fortune teller.

Hours were spent trying to pick the right combination in order to ensure that you would

end up marrying the man of your dreams or becoming a millionaire.

Even the coolest kids couldn't resist picking a color and shouting out a number to find

out what fate had in store for them!

So I bet you are now feeling all nostalgic and ready to head up to the attic to rummage

through all those dusty boxes in search of your past.

What a great decade the 90s were!

And remember, no matter how many years have passed, it's never too late to party like

it's 1999!

Self massage: Foam rolling glutes and legs - Duration: 6:48.

Welcome back to my channel. On today's video we are gonna focus on giving ourselves a

little self-love and I don't mean going to get our nails done. Today's video will

focus on foam rolling your lower half and rolling out those sore muscles so

stay tuned

First up is my hamstrings. I usually try and go from the knee to halfway up my

hamstrings rolling about 10 times or one to two minutes.

And then I move to do the upper part of my hamstring same thing rolling about

ten times or one to two minutes really allowing to get into the muscle.

Don't forget to switch and do the opposite leg. Again start from the knee

and go halfway up your hamstring and then you go from your top of your

hamstring or your glute down halfway.

well the same thing happens for quads which usually makes me cry.

I try again to do half of the muscle I'm rolling back and forth ten times.

This for me is one of the most painful places.

Make sure you get all muscles so when I'm done with my quads I usually turn

and get the inner upper part of my inner thigh definitely needed.

While you're down there go ahead and hit the dreaded IT band. Oh my god this might

be worse than my quads Oh ten times and then don't forget to switch and do the

other leg.

Make sure you get your calf muscles. Since sometimes it's not enough

bodyweight I put one leg over the other so I can really get my calves again

rolling about ten times or one to two minutes on each calf

Don't neglect your glutes. Sit on the foam roller and really allow the foam

roller to dig in. Sometimes I cross my leg over again to give more added

pressure to dig in to the muscle.

Holy hamstrings! Yes I said holy hamstrings. It's one of my favorite

sayings, but no seriously I need to spend more time with my foam roller especially

since I haven't had a massage in a few month. One of the things I love about

foam rolling is that you don't have to go anywhere. You can do it right at home

and you can buy a foam roller from just about anywhere; Target, Walmart, you name

it. You will definitely feel a difference when you do it more than once every blue

moon or when you're sore. So in today's video we focused on quads, hamstrings, IT

band, calves, you name any muscle below my waist and that's what I worked on even

some glutes. Do you use a foam roller or do you prefer a massage? Make sure you

comment below and let me know what you prefer. I can honestly tell you I prefer

a massage but when I can't afford one or don't have time for one that's when I

bust this out.

13 Things About Hayley Kiyoko You Should Know! | Billboard - Duration: 2:06.

- Hey, it's Hayley Kiyoko and you should know me.

("Feelings" by Hayley Kiyoko)

If my life was a book the title

would be I'm Starving, Feed Me.

My first job was actually Marge Simpson

in the Hollywood Parade, so if you saw her

sitting in a car waving, that was probably me.

The song that someone should listen to first,

if they haven't heard my music,

I would say they should listen to Feelings.

What motivates me is probably hope

and compassion towards one another.

The craziest thing I have ever done,

is I have gone skydiving.

I have a lot of guility pleasures,

I mean I'm not really guilty about them

because they're my pleasures.

I watch Friends every night.

My skill that I'd like to master

is I'd just like to be able to lift my own body weight.

That's a goal in my life.

The last movie that I saw was The Lion King.

I play the drums, you know,

that's probably my main instrument.

(dance pop music)

I grew up in Westside Village, California.

The beautiful suburbs, it was great.

It was great.

The first song that I wrote was called Notice

and my dad is still convinced that it's a hit song

and wants me to release it.

My sign is an Aries and I'm a fire sign.

And I need water to calm me down.

And if you listen to my album,

there's the red thread of water throughout.

It's intense and it crashes,

but it's also soft and moves and moldable.

I hope that my music can inspire hope

and can make you feel not alone.

And if you feel sad it can give you comfort.

And if you feel happy it can give you comfort.

And if you feel sexy it can give you comfort.

Lesson 69 Learn English - Health and safety - Differences Between Do / Make - Duration: 4:04.

Session 69 health and safety

Health and safety is a key part of any industry,

from fire regulations in an office to wearing helmets on a building site.

It may seem that some make a fuss and can be accused of being over cautious but

businesses are required to do their duty and protect their employees.

Businesses therefore do their best to ensure safety within the working environment.

A kitchen can be a very dangerous place to work if the right precautions are not put in place.

Chefs can certainly do harm to themselves and others if they do not observe health and safety protocol.

Hygiene is one of the major issues, whether you are doing the cooking or doing the washing.

Anyone who makes food to be served to the public must always wash their hands,

wear hairnets, ensure that food is not out of date, preserve the food correctly

(keeping the fridge at the right temperature, placing raw meat at the bottom of the fridge,

keeping food in airtight containers).

Regularly checking that hand soap dispensers are full, having a regular stock of hairnets

and gloves and making reports in regards to use by dates and cleaning procedures

are all essential ways to keep on top of Health and Safety within the kitchen.

Making sure your standards are high means that you don't have to make excuses

should something unfortunate happen, like food poisoning.

Doing a job as high profile as film making requires extreme vigilance when it comes to Health and Safety.

Firstly, you are responsible for hundreds of crew members and film stars.

Cameras, sound equipment, lighting, sets, constantly require

the utmost attention and regular maintenance.

Arguably, one of the most compelling and ominous accidents that have occurred

on a film set was the death of Bruce Lee's son, Brandon, on the set of The Crow in 1993.

Using a prop .44 magnum loaded with a full-powder blank,

too late it was realised that a bullet was already lodged in the barrel, hitting Lee in the abdomen and killing him.

What is so ominous about this unfortunate occurrence is that one of the prop masters,

making their check on the equipment, discovered a live round in one of the prop guns.

In fact, the entire film was plagued with accidents,

including, a carpenter receiving severe shocks and burns when their scissor lift made contact

with a power line, a worker driving a screwdriver through his hand and a stuntman falling through the roof of a set.

Even when you do your best to ensure complete safety, accidents can still happen.

The Return of the Musketeers (1989) saw the unfortunate death

of actor Roy Kinnear. After falling from a horse in Toledo, Spain,

Kinnear sustained a broken pelvis. He died from a heart attack at a hospital in Madrid, the following day.

The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 is the primary piece of legislation covering

occupational health and safety in Great Britain.

The Health and Safety Executive is responsible for enforcing the Act and

a number of other Acts and Statutory Instruments relevant to the working environment.

The modern fire extinguisher was invented by George William Manby in 1818.

Ivanka Trump Tells Reporter Its "Inappropriate" To Ask About Her Father's Sexual Misconduct - Duration: 3:22.

Monday morning Ivanka Trump was interviewed by NBC News where she was asked explicitly

about the women who have accused her father of sexual misconduct, and here is how Ivanka

responded to that question.

Do you believe your father's accusers?

I think it's a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers

of her father when he's affirmatively stated that there's no truth to it.

I don't think that's a question you would ask many other daughters.

I believe my father, I know my father so I think I have that right as a daughter to believe

my father.

First and foremost, let's get one thing straight real quick.

Ivanka Trump, in addition to being the president's daughter, also happens to be a senior advisor

employed by the White House.

Therefore, regardless of your familial ties, you can and should be asked questions about

what's going on with your administration including any and all accusations of sexual harassment.

Furthermore, you were asked this question, one, yes, because you are a senior advisor.

But two, you've been sent all around the globe to represent the United States.

Asking you that question was not inappropriate, it wasn't out of line.

It was in line with what reporters should have been doing with you from day one.

Now, you can try to play the victim here, but the only victims are the 20 plus women

who have not seen justice as a result of what your father did to them.

You're not the victim in this instance, Ivanka.

I know you want to think you are.

I know you want to think that the media is just picking on you.

But let's go back a little further as well.

Think about how horrible the media was to Chelsea Clinton, another presidential daughter,

attacking her over her looks, attacking her over everything that she said or did anywhere.

Overall, just bullying her into oblivion, and you think that you've got it tough because

they want to get your take on your father's sexual indiscretions that could be illegal.

No.

You have no idea how horrible the media can be because the media that's usually horrible

to people, the right wing media, is actually being a little bit nice to you right now.

God forbid, you should ever have to go through what other presidential daughters or first

ladies had to go through.

You are living a life of privilege, you always have.

So don't come at this reporter and say that it's inappropriate because they want to know

your take on the disgusting history of your father.
