What is the Best Resume Style? - Duration: 3:32.
What is the best style of resume to use?
What is the resume layout that employers prefer to read?
What resume style will get you a job interview?
I'll spill the beans on these points and give you quite a few
tips on selecting a resume style that is both presentable and engaging.
Hi I'm Matt from Zoodal.com.
On this channel we create videos to provide you tips and strategies for resumes,
cover letters, job interviews and employment protocol.
So if you're new to this channel consider subscribing.
I decided to make this video because I've had a few questions as to why the resume
styles at Zoodal are so plain, even described as boring and why Zoodal
doesn't use the more creative resume styles like this.
This.
and this.
Even this.
Well, the short answer is most employers prefer a simply laid out and
presented resume over a graphic intensive document.
Do you know that employers will spend just six seconds scanning a resume
before deciding whether to accept or reject each applicant.
In that six seconds most employers prefer to scan a document
in a linear fashion. That is scan from top to bottom
and not have to refer to other sections of the resume to continue reading.
A lot of employers become frustrated when they have dozens or even
hundreds of resumes to scan and a resume that doesn't follow the standard
approach will only add to that frustration. The easier a resume is to scan
and read the better. Simple and consistent formatting is crucial.
I've seen plenty of resumes instantly dismissed without even being scanned
because the applicant used a resume style that was outlandish thinking that
the resume style they selected would make them stand out.
That particular applicant may have been perfect for the job
but their resume style did them no favors.
Now I'm going to add an exception to the simple resume style rule here.
If you are a graphic designer, illustrator or artist then by all means use a resume
style that is creative and can act as a showcase of your talents.
For everyone else use a plain style and get your resume placed into the accepted pile.
Other reasons a resume may be rejected is that
the wrong font style was used.
the font style was too small or too large
and that the headings and text were poorly spaced.
The Zoodal website takes care of these issues so you can
focus on the content of the resume.
Let's go to the Zoodal website and preview the available resume styles.
At Zoodal we have automated the formatting and style of
the resumes and cover letters which allows the user to focus on the contents
of the documents they create.
The resume styles are reviewed and updated regularly.
Styles that are proving unpopular are changed or replaced with a more
presentable style

frugal
Being frugal is the cornerstone of wealth building, but it doesn't sell TV time and newspaper
Young people are indoctrinated with the belief that those who have money spend lavishly
In reality many people who live in luxury have little money left over after funding their high consumption lifestyles
their high-income spenders who tell the youth to earn and spend
They could be millionaires but instead a lot of them are on the perpetual burn and consumed treadmill

In contrast planning and sacrificing high consumption today

In addition it's very difficult for a married couple to accumulate wealth if one is a spendthrift
Not only is the typical millionaire approval but his spouse tends to be even more frugal

Great offense means that a household generates an income
slightly higher than the norm
Great defenses. They're frugal when it comes to spending for consumer goods and services

disciplined and adult lifestyle and professionally
Parents stay out of their children's family matters. Don't try to compete with them and emphasize their achievements

Interesting fact is that millionaires who are usually business owners encourage their children to become self-employed professionals
such as physicians
