10 - Harlequin Ichthyosis

In general I would recommend never googling any kind of skin condition if you value a

peaceful state of mind… it is stressful, off putting and scary at the very same time

and can often be pretty sad for those involved.

I have eczema so in some ways I can sympathize, but this is sadly a whole new level.

Harlequin Ichthyosis is a severe skin disorder that presents itself at birth.

Sadly the condition is so severe that it deforms the child, with their skin forming in large

diamond like plates, hence the name given to the disorder.

It really isn't very nice to look at, so I really wouldn't google it.

If the deformity wasn't awful enough, it comes with a very high mortality rate.

It seems one in ever 300,000 babies is born with this horrifying skin disease.

Moving on now to number 9 we have Mouth Maggots.

This one is as bad as it sounds.

Scientifically speaking, this is known as oral myiasis - its a condition where insect

eggs become implanted in a persons mouth.

The eggs then hatch ahd the parasitic larvae feast on the surrounding skin until they are

mature enough to fly away.

What youre seeing here comes from a dentists clinic.

The patient was unconscious at the time as a tube delivers anaesthetic gas through her

nose.

Her lips need to be stretched out from her teeth to get a view of the flesh eating creatures.

As gross as it is, its important to remove the Maggots as soon as they are discovered

as there is a chane of a fatal infestation making its way through the nose or ears to

the brain.

Next up at number 8 we have The Huntsman Spider.

This one is for all your arachnophobes out there.

Once you see this, youll think Tarantulas are just cuddly and nice - you might even

get a pet one.

These giants grow up to a foot in size.

They are common in Australia but can be found all over the world.

Heres some pictures from 2017 when an Australian woman found one at her house in Queensland.

Adult huntsman spiders don't build webs like many other spiders, instead foraging for food

and using venom to stun their prey.

They arent scared of humans either and have been known to give a vicious bite to people

who come to close, resulting in swelling and pain, nausea, headaches, vomiting, irregular

pulse rate and heart palpitations.

The Australian woman said that the spider prevented them from going outside to use their

barbecue.

They nicknamed it Aragog after giant spider in Harry Potter - when it ran into the woods

they said it was in the Forbidden forest - nice little joke for any Potter fans.

I'll see your huntsman spider and raise you a blooming Spider Cluster at number 7

Don't like a spider?

Don't blame you mate.

You wont like a cluster of them either.

Oh, you didn't know spiders form large ball like clusters?

Sorry bout it…they do.

Why?

WELL – young spiders have a deceptively cute name - spiderlings - spiderlings often

form tight clusters after hatching…because safety in numbers …andddd also they feed

on their own hatched egg yolks…nature.

Spiderlings stay this way until they get mature enough…so…big enough… to break free.

And I don't want to be there when they do.

You don't need to be an arachnophobia to find a cluster of freaking spiders horrifying….

There are some images on google you don't want to see, but worse still you don't want

google to lead you to a video of one…and there are several.

This is giving me chills.

Next up at number 6 we have The Original Night Stalker.

This is the story of Joseph James DeAngelo.

In 2018, he was charged with 8 counts of 1st degree murder.

Police say he is the Gold State Killer - a serial killer, rapist and burglar who committed

at least 13 murders and more than 50 rapes during burglaries in California from 1974

to 1986.

He would terrorize the victims in their homes, breaking in as they slip.

If his victim was part of a couple, he would sometimes tie up the man and pile dishes on

his back as part of a sadistic game in which he would rape the woman and threaten to kill

them both of the dishes tumbled to the floor.

The list of his crimes are too heinous to even go into here ... He was only charged

with the crimes after Police say a 2016 breakthrough led to a needle in the haystack lead …

5 - Trypophobia Tropophobia is the fear of small holes in

tight knit patters.

You might be chill with tiny holes, and honestly that is great for you… but for me, I am

not happy about it.

I didn't even know I had this fear until I started working at Most Amazing Top 10,

but it seems it has always been lurking there at the back of my mind…

So naturally occurring tiny holes are one thing… and kind of gross for some psychological

reason, but when they're photoshopped by some nasty fear mongering people out there,

they are even grosser.

There are some pictures you don't want to see - including some…eye…holes…holes

in eyes.

No.

Hard no.

Moving on to number 4 we have Krokodil.

This is a drug thats been described as -The Designer Drug That Will Eat Your Flesh- … what

a lovely introduction.

Although its been around since its creation in 1932 as an alternative to morphine, its

only become more widely known in recent years.

The drug is its 10 to 15 times more potent than morphine and 3 times more toxic.

Its said to be the worst drug in the world, worse than cocaine, heroin, meth and acid.

Doctors estimate that from the point an addict first takes it, their life expectancy is a

little over 2 years now.

So, why is it so bad?

Well, to put it simply - it rots a human from the inside out.

In serious users its not uncommon to see large expanses of exposed muscle and bone.

The high doesnt last long and the withdrawal is severe and intense - this leaves users

stuck in a full time, 24 hour a day cycle of cooking Krokodil up and then injecting

it, only to repeat it again right away.

3 Beslan School Siege Aftermath This has deeply, deeply troubled me.

This is where scary google gets real, and I just want no part of it.

The Beslan school siege took place for three days from September 1st 2004 and is the worst

incident of terrorism in a school ever recorded.

Chechnyan rebels and islamist militants stormed a school in Russia, taking 1,100 people hostage

– including 777 children.

What took place over the course of four days are some of the darkest things to happen in

modern history.

Hostages needed to drink their own urine to stay alive.

After a battle between the terrorists and the hostages, the siege ended with 334 people

dead, the majority of which were children.

Knowing about the Siege is historically important and I always encourage research into events

and their political background, but the pictures are something you never want to see.

The aftermath of the siege was a warzone, and very, very dark.

Next up at number 2 we have Botfly Removal.

If you found the mouth larvae I talked about earlier pretty gross, youre not gonna like

this.

A Botfly is a parasite.

It deposits eggs on a host such as a human.

The larvae from these eggs are stimulated by the warmth of the body and burrow underneath

the skin.

At this point, most people usually realise something is up - they can feel it itching

underneath their skin.

It then develops into extreme pain because of its spines which slice through the flesh.

Thats where doctors have to step in to remove the Botfly from the persons flesh.

Sometimes though, people cant wait for a doctor and try to remove it themself.

This usually involves pouring iodine in the hole - the botfly will react instantly by

poking out of the hole - thats when you grab it with some tweezers and try to forget this

traumatic event.

1 - Alcacuz Prison Cannibals You may have heard of the Alcacuz prison riots

in Brazil.

In January 2017 a massive riot broke out between rival gangs in Alcacuz prison.

It took authorities two weeks to regain control over the high security prison, after which

at least 30 inmates died.

That is basically all you need to know about it… but the finer gory details are so much

worse.

Basically, one gang obliterated the other and made a bonfire of human heads.

It wasn't enough to kill their rivals, they had to destroy them.

It seems the inmates turned to cannibalism and barbequed their rivals, eating them as

they laughed.

The murdering inmates made videos of their massacres, which really need to never be seen.

It took forensics weeks to identify the remains of the victims.

How Would You Self-pay Now and Seek Reimbursement On Your Own Later? - Duration: 4:50.

(upbeat music)

- Together, we'll ensure you Hear now. And always

If you choose to self pay and seek insurance reimbursement

on your own, this video is for you.

First, let's consider payment options.

Multiple options may be available to help you pay

out of pocket.

You can use a flexible spending account,

also known as an FSA.

This is pre-tax savings account through your employer

for out of pocket medical costs.

You may establish an FSA during your employer's insurance

open enrollment period if applicable and available.

Please keep in mind that funds do not carry over

to the next plan year.

If you don use it, you lose it.

A health savings account, or HSA accommodates recipients

with high deductible health plans.

This allows you to put aside a certain amount

of tax free savings for medical expenses

not reimbursed by insurance.

Savings can be carried over year to year allowing you

to plan for larger or unforeseen medical expenses.

Another option is using Care Credit.

Care Credit offers interest free financing plans.

If approved, you may receive interest free financing

for up to 24 months to help fund

out of pocket costs and co-insurance.

You can also use your personal funds or reach out

to local, state, and national organizations to inquire

about assistance with helping to fund

your sound processor replacement.

You'll want to double check your insurance plan

to confirm that your Cochlear technology or procedure

is covered by your plan's in network

or out-of-network benefits.

You'll call the member services phone number on the back

of your insurance ID card.

If you're calling for a sound processor replacement,

provide the HCPC code to your insurance provider

and refer to it only as a replacement sound processor.

Replacement sound processors to newer technology

are also covered under the durable medical equipment

benefits or hearing benefits section of your health plan.

If you do not have these benefits,

ask your insurance provider if they will consider

covering the billing code under your major medical benefits.

Ask your insurance provider if prior authorization

is required and what the process is to obtain it.

Prior authorization can help you determine in advance

if a product or service is likely to be covered.

If a prior authorization is not required,

ask if your health plan will allow you to submit

a predetermination of benefits.

This will check if your plan provides coverage

for the requested product or service.

Remember, getting prior authorization or predetermination

is a great way to understand your coverage,

but is not a guarantee of payment.

Next, inquire if your insurance company will process

your claim at an in-network benefit level

because Cochlear is the sole provider of Cochlear products.

If not, your healthcare provider must offer you

an alternative such as authorizing an out-of-network

provider or supplier to provide covered services.

You should also ask your insurance representative

about your out of pocket expenses and if your policy

has a DME or hearing benefit maximum.

If your plan does have a maximum limit,

you will typically be responsible for any amount

over that limit.

Finally, ask your insurer how

to submit a claim for reimbursement.

Now, shop and place your order online

or by calling this number.

For us to process your order, we may need to reach out

to your provider to get a letter of medical necessity

or certificate of medical necessity.

To track your order, login to your Cochlear Family Account,

click manage your account, and select orders.

Please allow one hour for it to appear

in your Cochlear Family Account.

Once your order has shipped, you'll need to follow

your insurance plan's guidelines for reimbursement.

While your insurance provider is processed to file a claim

may vary, here a few typical steps to follow.

Collect documentation such as receipts, letters,

and forms, as well as a copy

of your insurance provider's claim form.

Complete the claim form and make a copy of it

along with all your documentation.

Wait to hear back from your insurance provider

and follow up with member services if needed.

Now go places and enjoy life's sounds.

We hope you hear now and always.

Please keep in mind that if you choose to self pay

for an item generally covered by insurance,

you may not be able to submit a claim on your own

if Cochlear is contracted

with your private insurance provider.

Please visit us here to see if we are contracted

with your insurance provider.

If we are contracted with your insurance provider,

we suggest placing your order through Cochlear's

Reimbursement and Insurance Services.

If you seek reimbursement on your own,

you will be solely responsible for any amounts to include

contractual or discounted payments that your

insurance provider does not cover.

10 Fun Facts about Jurassic Park 3 | Behind the Scenes - Duration: 6:58.

[Intense music playing while Dinosaurs roar]

Jurassic Park 3's film director Joe Johnston,

who has directed successful films like the original Jumanji and the first Captain America movie,

saw the first Jurassic Park and loved it so much that he approached Steven Spielberg

to ask if he could direct the sequel.

If you watched my last video on The Lost World, you might remember that Steven Spielberg decided

to do the sequel following a two year hiatus after Schindler's List.

If you haven't seen the video yet, click on the YouTube card on the screen to learn

more about that story and other fun facts about The Lost World.

[Raptor scream]

Joe Johnston didn't have to wait too long though to get his wish to direct a Jurassic movie

because after Spielberg finished The Lost World he called up Johnston

to see if he was still interested in directing the next sequel,

and of course he said yes.

Steven Spielberg and Joe Johnston worked together to produce the story for Jurassic Park 3 and

decided how it would tie into the first two films.

The story was originally going to be about several families traveling to the Galapagos islands

and one of the planes carrying all the kids would crash land on Isla Sorna

and the planes with all the parents would land to rescue them.

However five weeks before filming began that script was thrown out entirely and instead

they decided to focus on just one family flying to the island to save their son to simplify the story.

A quick bonus fact is when the story was switched the Spinosaurus and raptors were already being made,

so they were carried over into the new story as well.

The Spinosaurus and the raptors were operated with telemetry devices, which are machines

that resemble the shape of the dinosaurs and the machine parts are twisted and turned to

make the animatronic dinosaur move.

Summer blockbusters like the Jurassic movies involve a lot of CG effects,

but also a healthy amount of practical effects too.

The most difficult practical effect to shoot for this movie was the plane crash sequence,

and to do it they had to build two models of the tree and four separate planes.

They built a full-size tree and hid hydraulics in it to be able to make one of the plane models

tilt, shake, and slide around on its branches.

The second version of the tree was only the top of it so they could hang a fuselage in

it to film the Spinosaurus attack.

Each of the other three plane models had unique functions for each part of the scene.

One could crush itself from the outside,

one crushed itself from the inside,

and the other could roll.

The icing on the cake is that the actors decided to do almost all of the stunts themselves.

So when you see the plane being dropped from the tree and rolling across the ground

it really was the actors inside there,

and William H. Macy said the experience was like working in a machine dryer.

If you're enjoying the video so far, please take a moment and click the like button.

Thank you in advance and let's move along!

[Spinosaurus and T-Rex growling]

The filmmakers wanted to have the Spinosaurus kill a T-Rex early on in the story

to show its strength and size over the franchise's iconic dinosaur.

The fight was groundbreaking from a technical standpoint because it was the first time they

had a CG and live-action dinosaur act together in a scene.

One particular place where they did this was during a close up shot when they had a CG

Spinosaurus bite the neck of a live-action T-Rex, and it was meant to be somewhat symbolic

of new technology coming in to replace the old tech.

Each of the first two Jurassic Park movies had filmed some of their jungle scenes on the island of Kauai,

and Jurassic Park 3 was no different.

What the third film did differently though was they built a full-fledged jungle inside Universal's studio 12,

and they used light and shadow techniques to make the jungle look deeper than it actually was.

[Pteranadon screeching while boy screams]

For the pteranodon attack they first built an 8' tall suit that would have a puppeteer inside it.

But after only a few minutes it became clear that there was no way a human was ever going

to be able to move well enough to make the it look real,

so the decision was made to have the big pteranodon be completely CG.

The baby pteranodons on the other hand were a mixture of CG and live-action puppets.

If you watch carefully you can see the difference by comparing the close ups with the long shots.

Let me know in the comments if you can tell when they used the puppets.

[Baby pteranodon's squeals]

Some bonus facts about the sounds of the pteranodons is that the big one is a mixture of an albatross

and a giant petrel,

[pteranadon squawking]

and fighting mongooses were used to make the sounds for the baby pteranodons.

[snorting and growling noises]

No Jurassic Park movie would be complete without a big climactic showdown

that also serves as a huge technical challenge for the franchise.

For this movie, Joe Johnston upped the ante with a climax that involved filming with a

huge animatronic dinosaur,

at night,

in the water,

in the rain,

and with fire.

This was the first time an animatronic creature was submerged in water, and since these dinosaurs are robots after all,

submerging one in the water would be like putting a toaster in the bathtub.

So the Spinosaurus's head was covered with a water proof skin

so it wouldn't short circuit or electrocute anyone.

After the scene was finished, Stan Winston said seeing his huge Spinosaurus going under the water

to attack the actors was the most impressive footage he ever saw.

Let's focus for a moment on some of the sound designs of the dinosaurs.

The roar of the Spinosaurus is similar to the T-Rex by combining an alligator and a lion,

but the new sound added to make the Spino sound unique was of a crying baby bear.

[Spinosaurus roars and growling noises]

[Raptor squeal]

The raptor sounds were made by mixing their usual sounds with vulture calls.

[Raptor calling for help]

And to make the noise of Alan's raptor calls from the fossil,

they took the raptor sounds and added more resonance to them

so they would sound more hollow like they were coming from a fossilized voice box.

[Sounds of Alan blowing air, imitating a Raptor call]

[Jurassic Park theme playing]

For those of you that stuck around to the end, here's a bonus fact about the film's music.

John Williams was unavailable to do Jurassic Park 3 because he was working with Steven Spielberg on A.I.

He recommended composer Don Davis to take his place who had the large task of providing

original music while also including the franchise's iconic theme that audiences have come to expect.

Davis and the other key filmmakers each took time to decide when it would be appropriate

to use John William's theme in the movie, and everyone agreed on three key moments:

the panoramic shots of the island and the dinosaurs,

and the third was for the ending.

What Does Out Of Network Mean When It Comes To Insurance? - Duration: 2:50.

(upbeat music)

- Whether you've switched insurance providers

or were simply trying to schedule an appointment

with a new doctor,

chances are that you've heard

those dreaded words, 'out-of-network'.

But what does that really mean?

Let's start by looking at what 'in-network' means.

When a doctor, hospital, or other healthcare provider

accepts your insurance plan,

and is considered a preferred provider,

they are in-network.

This means the healthcare provider has negotiated

a contracted rate with your insurance company.

This results in a lower price for your medical care.

On the contrary, when a doctor or facility providing care

does not have a contract with your insurance,

they are out-of-network.

Typically, that means you'll need to cover

more of the cost for your care.

If you choose to receive medical care

from an out-of-network provider, it's best to ask up front

what they will charge for the service

to better understand what you may pay for care.

Cochlear is the sole provider of the technology

and replacement equipment, and some parts and accessories

needed to use the sound processor,

therefore must be purchased from Cochlear.

If Cochlear is not an in-network provider

with your insurance, or an expense is billed out-of-network,

an in-network exception may be granted.

Let's take a look at an example.

A doctor charges $250 for an office visit.

That is the amount that you would pay

if you walked in without any insurance.

For those in-network, your insurance company has a contract

with a doctor's office,

so you will only be charged $120 for an office visit.

Depending on how your insurance plan works,

part of the $120 may be paid by the insurance company,

and the remaining balance may be paid by you,

but once the total of $120 is received,

the bill is paid in full.

If you are out-of-network, you will be charged $250

and your insurance company will likely cover less

or none of this amount.

Just remember, before you go to a doctor,

it's always a good idea to call

and ask if they take your insurance plan.

In the end, remaining in-network typically means

you get the most personalized, affordable,

and coordinated care.

We have proudly helped people hear for over 30 years

and we hope you hear now and always.

Please keep in mind that if you choose to self-pay

for an item generally covered by insurance,

you may not be able to submit a claim on your own

if Cochlear is contracted

with your private insurance provider.

Please visit us here to see if we are contracted

with your insurance provider.

If we are contracted with your insurance provider,

we suggest placing your order

through Cochlear's reimbursement and insurance services.

If you seek reimbursement on your own,

you will be solely responsible for any amounts

to include contractual or discounted payments

that your insurance provider does not cover.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Interview – "The Future is Now" [FULL INTERVIEW] | NowThis - Duration: 9:07.

Because we've never built our business on

wanting people to use their phone all day long.

We do not want that.

We want you to have a great life

and that means you're not gonna be using your phone all the

time.

The Apple Watch Series 4 was another big,

you know, thing during,

during this keynote

and has a lot of impressive health features.

How is that important for the company.

What can people expect?

What we found out through the years is one,

the wellness aspects of the watch.

It's really making a difference in people's lives.

It's creating an environment where they want to be more

active and arguably all of us need to be

more active in

and also the heart features on

the watch have created such an environment

that because your heart is being monitored all the time,

the watch has been providing alerts to people

where they found out they had problems they didn't know.

And, in many cases,

catastrophic problems that they didn't

or would have been catastrophic problems

if they wouldn't have been alerted.

And so now we're gonna take this even further.

We're, we're going to ship later

this year.

The very first over-the-counter

ECG available.

And the whole idea behind the watch is to make you better.

That's the objective.

You know, it's to get you to

exercise more.

Get you to move more,

help with your health.

I mean, all things that empower people

to be better.

What was the feedback that you've heard.

How is that important to you

and Apple?

You know, through the years I've gotten so many

notes. I mean daily kind of notes

from people who have found out they had problems

that they didn't know that they had.

These are problems with their heart rate,

you know, maybe the watch provides you a notification

that you are, that you have a high heart

rate during a point in time that you're not moving.

And so we provide notifications

and then, of course, that prompts them

to seek medical help and,

and/or treatment, if it winds up in that.

And I've gotten so many of those that said,

thank you for doing this.

I would have never known

and my doctor said that I

might not be here if I would not

have taken action

and gone to the doctor at the appropriate

time. And so Apple

has always been about finding

this intersection between

the liberal,

liberal arts, humanities ,and technology.

And so we, we have always infused

humanity into our products.

And arguably,

this is the ultimate display of that,

you know, give people life.

And so, it feels great.

Some people are spending too much time in certain

apps.

And we want them to know that because

we we believe that if people know what they're doing,

they're in the best situation

to decide whether they really want to be

doing that or not.

And so we're reporting things like how many notifications

you get, how many times do you pick up

your phone during the course of the day.

How much time are you spending in

each of these apps during the course of the day.

And then, you can set your own goals.

You know, I want to take this one down by 10%

or down by 50%

or you might want to say,

you know, I want to curate my notifications.

I don't really want this many notifications or I don't

need that many.

You may want to cut the amount of times you pick up your phone.

And so all of these things,

the power, we're giving you the power to

decide for yourself

with this enormous transparency.

Because we've never built our business on

wanting people to use their phone all day long.

We do not want that.

We want you to have a great life

and that means you're not gonna be using your phone all the

time. But we want the time that you

spend on it to be incredible.

Where you can do things that you've never dreamed you could do before.

I've used it and I was surprised

with some of my results. I spend a lot

of time on social media

but where they are and the surprising results from your screen time.

I think it's surprising, going to be surprising things for everybody.

And there were for me.

I know I was getting too many notifications.

And so I looked to see who was sending me all these notifications

and I began to count.

Because there are so many things in life that you don't really

need to know at the moment.

There's a lot of things you want to but...

So that was a learning for me.

And I think I'll continue to have more because

the great thing about this is you can look at

this every day

or once a week

or across a longer period of time if

you want more data.

But we're putting the power in your hands.

To make the decisions

and sort of like what the Apple Watch does

with telling you how many calories you burn for the day.

It's sort of a moment of truth to

look at this report to see where you're

spending your time which is arguably the most important

decision all of us make each day of our lives.

Any habits you think people will be changing

after they see results are in

or any tips on how to decrease their screen time? I think, you know,

all the research I've seen

says to make small changes

in your behavior and continually make them,

you know, if you're losing weight,

it's lose a little each week.

If you're wanting to cut your screen time

cut it by a little.

And, but over the course of a month

or two months a little adds up to a lot.

And so I hope that people

use it.

And make the decisions

and become the person they want to be.

That's the whole idea of it.

You think about it, we used to carry

a separate camera.

We no longer have to,

we can make photos as good as a professional

photographer. If you think about the power

that is in an iPhone

it's unbelievable.

I mean it's the power that used to be more than a

mainframe. When I was growing up I mean this is

incredible we can now perform

five trillion operations

per second with this iPhone.

This is hard to even fathom using machine

learning. We can do a whole variety of things across

the phone.

And so, now your face

is your password.

We could have never dreamed this when I was growing up.

I mean, I'm not even sure we knew what a password was a password

was what you said to get in the door.

And now you've had several years in the tech industry

where do you see it going in the next say 20 to 50 years?

Well I think the great thing about our

industry is that you

can do about anything you can imagine now.

I mean it's unbelievable the power of machine

learning. The power they are.

You saw a demo earlier of augmented reality.

I mean I think that one day we will wonder

how we ever lived without it.

Because in conversations that we're in,

we can...we can have a much more enhanced

conversation with the power of AR.

And so I think you pull all of these tools

and the great thing is that for today,

all of those things are possible on this iPhone.

I mean the future is now.

It's unbelievable the power

that's in the palm of your hand

or in your pocket now.

So what can consumers look

out for on the new iOS 12

and the new phone.

There are lots of great things in there,

you mentioned Screen Time earlier.

You're going to find the performance

much better,

apps are going to open much faster.

You're going to have, on this phone in particular,

you're going to have up to an hour

and a half more battery life.

Everybody wants battery life.

You know,

it's an essential thing.

You're going to see a great new feature like Memoji

where you can sort of customize

yourself in any way you want

to right embedded in messages

where you really are talking to to your friends

and your family.

So the list here is,

is incredibly long.

And keep in mind,

that this is the place

for augmented reality.

This is the best phone for an

augmented reality experience.

And the number of these that will be coming out.

You played some games earlier

but the number of these that will be coming out across all

aspects of your life is just going to be exponential.
