Waching daily Oct 1 2018

What I was saying earlier about women not dating

Asian guys, it's true.

That's why I won't tell a girl

I'm Asian until the third date.

I'm just kidding. You can't hide the fact

that you're Asian. You can downplay it.

It's always worse when I'm trying to downplay

how super Asian I am

when I'm at an Asian restaurant

and the waiter locks eyes with me,

starts to speak to me in my language

and I pretend – I'm like sorry, I don't speak your language.

I don't understand a single word

that's coming out of your mouth,

Dad.

I like that joke because in that joke

I just made my dad a waiter.

Like in real life my dad's a doctor,

and in real life my dad wanted me to be a doctor

but I'm a waiter.

Yeah.

Um, I recently broke up from a long-term relationship,

so I'm starting to date again. That's why I'm on Tinder.

But these days I find it hard to meet girls.

It's just like hard to meet girls.

Especially when I don't look at them, talk to them, or approach them.

Guys have this fantasy, right?

Where they just think that hot women will approach them

and be like

"I saw you not looking at me."

"That was so cool the way you didn't say or do anything."

"I just love guys that lurk in the shadows."

And I get it, right? The fear of rejection; talking to a stranger.

And there's a saying that's meant to give you courage,

'You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.'

And I like that saying, it made sense;

found out who said it.

Wayne Gretzky.

And I was like, what does the leading goal scorer of all time

know about the pain of missing shots?

Right?

Because life is complicated, Gretzky.

Dating is complicated, Great One.

You could be the best shooter in the world.

You could be like skating down the rink,

about to take your shot,

and then you realize

that some nets don't even like shooters.

They like other nets.

How To Make A Webcomic You'll Actually Finish - Duration: 21:13.

Hi, I'm Maya Kern

I work full time as a comic artist illustrator and product designer,

and this is how to make a webcomic you'll actually finish.

I started making Monster Pop! in 2012 while I was attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design

At the time I planned to make this comic for one or two years

in between school work and the short story comics I was making

Now I've been making Monster Pop! for six years, and I still have nearly two or three years left before it'll be done

I've learned a lot over these six years and I have a ton of knowledge that I wish I had going into Monster Pop! and

I'd like to share that with you all now

so, a bit more about me:

I attended MCAD from 2009 to 2013 and I studied comic art

During that time I made a number of short comics including Fairy Fail, How To Be A Mermaid, and Redden

After college I moved out to California,

Took a bunch of commissions and freelance work,

made some silly comics about my life, and burned through pretty much all of my savings trying to find a steady job.

I eventually found a steady gig working for Gaia Interactive, but through a combination of that and taking too much other freelance work,

I overworked myself and my body and ended up being unable to draw for over a month because of how badly I injured myself

This was one of the hardest times of my life and it was unsustainable for many reasons

I was forcing myself to do more than I can handle. I

Wasn't taking care of myself and I wasn't making enough money to take a break. But because my body gave out, I had to.

This failure helped me learn what I could and couldn't do and what is sustainable for me. Now

I've been making Monster Pop! for nearly six years, and I work full-time with my wife making comics and illustrations and merchandise in a healthy

sustainable way.

so,

How do you make a webcomic you'll actually finish?

To give yourself the best chance to carry your comic to completion, you need: passion,

sustainability, a schedule, strategies for tackling your big favorite idea, and financial stability.

Make sure this idea is something you have passion for

How often do you think about it? Do you lay in bed plotting and scheming and world building?

How sick are your friends of hearing you talk about it?

It's fine if you want to make something popular

But comics are a lot of work, and if you do not love your idea

it will not be worth the time and energy you put into it. the

time you spend on your comic is time

you're not spending with friends or loved ones, or doing your job, or other things that are important to you.

So this comic should be important to you, too

Comics are too much work not to love them

Passion is what gets you through all the hard work. if it's not enjoyable, it's not sustainable

What does make your comics sustainable? You've got a great idea that you love, but you can't pull through on passion alone

How well do you know your subject matter?

for instance

If you are writing a magical girl comic set in the Wild West, you should probably learn about horses, guns,

the law or lack thereof, saloon culture, the climate, and the vernacular

for example

If a horse has a red ribbon on its tail

that means it kicks! now that you know that it can add color and maybe a plot point to your story, and

If someone shows up to your old Western with an assault rifle, it will break suspension of disbelief

Because it will feel out of place

even though magic exists, and

Everyone knows that no good licky-mouth nibbler Sal's raisin' sand at the old watering hole

He's gonna get kicked galley-west before the hour's up

And if you do your research, you too can sound like you grew up with a mouthful of sand and a butt full of guns

The point is doing your research will make you more comfortable with your subject matter and will make it easier to work with

It's not enough to just know about your subject matter, you have to be able to draw it too

Comics are by and large a visual medium, and you're going to have to be able to convey your ideas through drawing

So you should take your time to learn how to draw your characters, setting, the type of scenery, and backgrounds

you'll need, the props, and everything else in your world

Luckily, the better you know your subject ,the more you understand it the easier it'll be to draw. as you can see

here's my very bad horse drawing on the-- on the left, and then some very good horse drawings by people who actually

Took the time to learn how to draw horses

Some important questions about your drawing style, because one of these drawings took 20 minutes and the other one took 8 hours

How time-consuming is your drawing style? How natural is it?

How consistent is it? How expressive or emotive is it? How stylized is it?

Can you simplify

complicated things like crowd scenes or large backgrounds without sacrificing immersion? how well does it convey movement or action?

Will your drawings be colored? How detailed and time-consuming will your tone/color be?

Simple isn't bad

Remember your goal is a comic artist isn't to draw the prettiest picture in the world. It is to communicate your story

Frequently comic artists syndicated and newspapers will find ways to simplify and streamline their drawings to hit tight deadlines

Cathy by Cathy Guisewite is

Just a classic. It's not pretty, it's not gorgeous

It communicates exactly what it needs to

it's

not bad for it to not be pretty, because it accomplishes everything it needs to

Peanuts is simple and charming, but again it's fast for a reason and it communicates the ideas it needs to.

A simple style is often used to communicate charm or humor

But it can also present a harsh minimalism or be used to convey an emotion behind the story or a character

Oftentimes it can be useful to simplify parts of your drawings and provide detail in areas of greater interest

Many comics will leave areas blank

This is called negative space, both has a compositional tool to provide visual impact and a way to reduce drawing time

It's also common to see screen tones or visual elements like action lines, flowers, sparkles,

and shapes to replace or aid backgrounds to save time, particularly in shoujo manga. In Japan

it's common for mangaka to have assistants, or for groups of artists called circles, like CLAMP,

to collaborate to create comics, and in mainstream Western comics

It is common for freelance artists to be hired on a contract basis as pencilers, inkers,

colourists, or letterers, instead of creating entire comics alone

Still some artists just want to put us all the shame. Some comics also have very slow release schedules

Speaking of your schedule, you have to make one. To make your schedule, you need to know: how frequently you want to update,

How many strips or pages you want to post per update,

How long on average a single strip or page will take you to create, and how much time you can allocate

Per week to work on your comic

Unlike print comics which typically update biweekly or monthly, or on a per book basis,

Web comics usually update weekly or multiple times a week

This is very different from print media, both as a creator and a consumer

This slows the reading pace and means that instead of consuming a chapter or book as a whole

The reader gets tiny bite-sized chunks of story

this can make the pacing of web comics seem really slow. as a

Creator this means that how you work has to change. An artist working for print media can work like a one-man

Assembly line and complete all their sketches for a chapter

Before they even start inking, but most web comic artists have to complete one batch of updates before moving on to the next

Usually on a per-page basis

This can make the comic as a whole less consistent since instead of working on a batch of 30 pages all at the same time

The artist is probably completing the pages one by one in order.

I put anywhere from two to six hours of work into an average Monster Pop! strip

I usually update three strips per week

which means on any given week I could be doing between 6 and 18 hours of work on this comic, and

It roughly averages out to about fifteen hours of work per week

To get an idea of how long your work flow takes you you'll probably have to draw some test pages to try things out

But I'll talk more about that later.

Comics take a long time

Do you know how long you want your comic to be?

Because however long you think it is

You should probably at least double that.

So how do you schedule your comic?

First you want to break your writing down into manageable chunks

Start by listing your overarching goals for a given chapter or scene, including character development and story themes,

Then create an outline with concrete events and emotional beats

Following your outline and keeping your goals in mind, write a script that further cements your ideas into a logical progression of events

Sketch or thumbnail your scenes and then finish the art

[reading from the slide]

[reading from the slide]

[reading from the slide]

[I'm going to cut the subtitles so you can read the slide]

Each stage of my process works to resolve a problem set up by the stage before it

My goal shows the heart of a given scene or chapter

It's the meat and potatoes of the story. Each step beyond that provides context and clarification

Once I hit my sketch stage I put dialogue from my script into my canvas and feel out the rhythm of the strip

Because I've been making monster pop for so long

I don't need to thumbnail it, and I can feel where a good place to end a strip is, but if you're uncertain

I'd recommend thumbnailing your page compositions before moving to sketches

But for me fitting the right amount of dialogue for the emotion of the scene is the most important part of my sketch process

I use 3d models in Google Sketchup (which is FREE) to

Set the stage for the scene

Also, I typically end up adding a lot of little touches to my sketches that aren't in my script; things like the teachers dialogue in

the background here or how George and Percy's conversation moves them out of the classroom to keep the dialogue flowing, and

Sometimes I'll add visual gags or jokes that are inspired by how I've staged the scene

This adds flavor to the story and helps to flesh out the world

Finishing the art is the easiest and most time-consuming part of making comics. by this point

I've already made pretty much all my decisions, but making art takes time

And once you've set the parameters of how you're going to draw your story

There's not a lot you can do to alter how long it takes to make it

You love your story and you want to tell it but you've got a problem:

It's way too long, and you have little to no experience making comics

Sound familiar? Well, don't worry because I'm here to help you out with some hot tips

So here are my strategies for tackling your big favorite idea

Don't front load your readers with too much exposition

When you have a big epic story that you love it can be tempting to dump all the world-building you've spent ages

creating on your readers, but nobody actually enjoys that

Sure, there are some kids in the crowd who actually read the opening screen crawl of star wars movies

But do you enjoy it? Or are you waiting for the story to hurry up and happen?

Don't try to squeeze a huge story into us all page count

when you try to squish your 300 page epic into 30 pages, you don't get a cool story, you get a recap episode.

A recap episode for an anime you love is boring, a recap episode for a story you've never read is just pointless

When you're squeezing as much story into as little space as possible

There's no room to get to know your characters or your world, and no reason for the reader to get invested

Trying to tell your whole story in too little time is just a lot of look

Focus in on one aspect of your idea and refine it into something consumable, like how avant-garde fashion presents something strange and high-concept

Which then inspires ready wear fashion which trickles into department stores and eventually into fast fashion and bargain retailers

You don't necessarily want to be the resale store at the end of the cycle

But you do want to make something consumable and everyone who's watched The Devil Wears Prada

Already knows about this process

Instead, why don't you try honing your focus?

Try writing a one-shot in the world

You've built, maybe a one-shot about the main character in a situation with smaller stakes, or a vignette about a minor character

This way you can practice writing and drawing things for your story, but you don't have to commit to a huge epic

It's also a great way to make some test pages and figure out your process and how long it'll take you to draw a page

and

Finally, it's time to talk about the big scary elephant in the room

money

You're going to be putting in a lot of time and hard work into your comic

But you also have to be able to make a living

How much can you monetize your comic? How can you monetize it?

How do you design comic elements with monetization in mind? And at what point does your comic become financially sustainable?

Advertising is probably the easiest and least effective way to monetize your content.

As the Internet has evolved views and clicks have become less and less valuable and more people use ad blockers, and can you blame them?

You probably use one too

In most cases even popular web comics can usually at best only pay their server fees with the money they make off advertising

Tapas may be an exception to this as they have launched an experimental

pay to read model where readers can pay a small amount of tapas currency or watch an ad or two in

Order to gain access to comic updates. I've heard that some creators have achieved great success with this, but I haven't tried myself

So I can't say

Because I am not part of this pay to read model and because my comic is not exclusive to tapas

The amount of money I make off of advertising is basically nothing.

I even removed ads from my personal site because they were so inconsequential

even YouTube celebrities, who are the poster children for ad revenue, have been

Diversifying in order to not have to rely on ad money because of how unstable it is. if you have seen one of your favorite

youtubers

Launching a merchandise line, It's because ads just aren't reliable enough

crowdfunding

Everyone and their dog has seen at least one crowdfunding campaign for a webcomic

you may be

interested in utilizing a subscription model like patreon which allows content

Creators to charge monthly for exclusive access to extra content and can provide financial support in a more long-term sustainable manner

Or you may be thinking about using Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, or a similar platform in order to crowd fund for a large project

Such as a print run for your webcomic. many artists including myself

use both. a

Subscription model can help directly pay you a wage for all the hard work you put into your comic and you can even set

Milestone goals when the monthly pledges hit certain amounts, like being able to create more comic pages per month once your patreon pays your rent

When you run a patreon it is unlikely that supporters will find you on the patreon site

your patrons will have to come entirely from your own fan base, and many of them will be your diehard fans.

A Kickstarter or similar crowdfunding campaign is great for funding a specific project

It won't pay you a monthly wage and it will take a lot of work to figure out how much money you need to raise

in order to pay for this cool thing you want to make

But Kickstarter has Discoverer pages and lots of users have perused the platform in order to find cool new projects to support

So it's a great way to fund a print run for your book and gain new readers

Merchandising is the cool new kid on the block

Bringing in all the hot dollars. It's how I make most of my money and how many other content creators do too

Obviously the first thing to merchandise in a comic is the comic itself

but not everyone wants to buy a print copy of your free online comic, so it's good to have a few options.

When I first created Monster Pop! in 2012

I wasn't expecting to be making it for very long

and I definitely wasn't planning to merchandise it, and thus I have found myself six years deep into a difficult to monetize comic

Sad!

Now that I'm older and wiser

I wish I had created a simple recognizable logo or icon that I could slap on some sweet, sweet merch

The best monetizable iconography is simple,

recognizable, wearable,

versatile, and easy to print

Keep your design to two to three colors and make it something that can go on a sticker or a shirt

make sure it's referential to the comic as a whole but is something you'd want to be seen wearing in public

A smart designer will even plant the design in the comic itself. a school shirt, the sign design for the cafe the story takes place in

Or a symbol that represents the alien army your main character is enlisted in, or whatever

If I'd been smart

I would have designed a unique and wearable school shirt for the college my characters attend, and I would have had them wear it more

often

So at what point does your comic become financially stable? I

I hate to break it to you

But there is not a lot of money in comics and it's very difficult to make a living

solely on comics. A small percentage of comic artists can make a living wage making comics for hire for

Publishers like Marvel, First Second, Dark Horse, or Boom!, or by monetizing their webcomic, but it is a long hard slug

More likely than not you will have to make your comic while working some other job

Whether it's a nine-to-five office job, working part or full-time in the service industry, or taking freelance illustrations gigs to pay rent

There is no shame in needing a day job

Many of your favorite comic artists have or have had a day job while pursuing an art career.

I personally make most of my money

Making art that I can sell in multiple products in my online store, and only a relatively small part of my income

comes from my comic

I would love for my comic to make enough money to be my full-time job

But because that's not the case I allocate the amount of time and work

I can do per week on my comic based on what I can afford to take away from the work that makes me money

Having a long term fan base for my comic helps me sell my products, and I do make around $1,000 a month on patreon

But it doesn't pay all my wife's and my bills, and the money I make from Kickstarter

Gets funneled directly into funding more business expenses like manufacturing costs, and it doesn't actually end up in my pocket

So, too long didn't read

One, make sure you are passionate about this. Two, make your work sustainable

Three, make a schedule

Four, tackle your project intelligently, and five, have a plan for financial success

And then she said, "The call is coming from inside the house!"

Ahhhhhh!

Ice-T how long have you been there?

Two hours, that was a long ghost story.

Do you wanna do a Halloween Make Off?

Oh Yeah!

We each have 30 minutes to decorate the ultimate,

spooky halloween pumpkin inspired by a theme.

Mine is Mad Monster.

What's yours Ice?

Recently-Turned Zombie.

Okay!

We'll have sixty seconds to pick out our initial supplies

from the supply table.

Are you ready?

I'm ready!

Set.

Make!

Okay, we only have one minute here

Wait...this is not enough time.

Got fifteen seconds...

2...1...wait!

Okay, that's it!

Alright.

What kind of pumpkin are you gunna use?

Am I supposed to use a pumpkin?

Yeah, we're decorating our pumpkins!

Okay.

So what we're gunna do, we're gunna

start off here, with the most important part of my zombie

his head.

Yeah, okay I see that-

Don't look over here, don't get any ideas-

I'm looking, I'm looking, I am getting ideas.

I think what you've got is kinda cool.

Do you like scary movies?

I love scary movies, I love horror movies.

I hate being scared.

What kind of fun is that?

My S**T is coming-

I mean my guy is coming together.

Ice, what do you think of my monster so far?

It's interesting. What kind of monster is that like,

a carrot monster or something?

He's not a carrot monster, he's gunna be

a mad monster!

Okay.

Can I ask you a question?

Is this fun for you or are you stressed out?

This is fun! I didn't know what I was gunna make

but sometimes that's the best thing.

You know, your creativity has to kick in.

Sometimes you have to let go to what the final product

is gunna be. And you know, sometimes

it's not gunna win, and that's okay.

No, it's not.

What's your like favorite craft that you do?

I don't know. I spend a lot of time cleaning up

my dog crap, that's not really craft-

No, that's a different-

Kind of reminds me of the the word craft.

So, what are you gunna do for Halloween this year?

Do you know, do you know, do you know?

My daughter, she does five Halloween costumes

every year, like so she'll be everything

from a chipmunk to a...what's the thing with

the horn out it's head?

A unicorn?

Unicorn. They're not big in the hood, unicorn.

You know what? I'mma get real provacative,

I'mma bring out the small brush.

Wow.

When you're in crafting, and you bring out the small brush...

You on that next level.

And you're on the next level, you brought

the small brush out.

What do we win?

You get the maker cup, it's a trophy.

What?!

I thought it was like a car

No...it's like a big trophy.

Aight, call my agent!

Okay, we're at the two minute warning, it's the

two minute warning!

5...

4...

2...

1...

Ha!

Time's up!

Today, our guest judge is a real zombie!

ungh!

Excuse me, happy to be here.

Should we start with you?

Sure!

You were uhm...Mad Monster.

Yes.

So tell me a bit about it.

Well, he's a monster, and so he's got horns

and you can see from his little glittery mouth,

he's mad.

And a lot of eyeballs.

Yeah, so many eyeballs on this monster.

Perfect for Halloween.

Alright, and you.

This is a Recently-Turned Zombie, so his brains

are hanging out and the rats and the crows

are eating him and he's like:

"How did I end up being a zombie?"

"I was walking down the street?"

Just walking down the street.

Just like minding his business.

I can relate.

Thank you, well, this was terribly creative

but at the end of the day, it's a pumpkin competition, really.

And the Maker Cup goes to...

Busy!

Yay!!!

Absolutely.

I'm so excited!

Congratulations.

The cold thing is you're a zombie and I can't kill you again.

No, that's the trick isn't it?

Damn, already dead.

I'm so sorry.

Maybe he had a problem seeing another zombie

dead or something, I don't know.

Maybe a little zombieism going on there, I don't know.

Hey, you win some, you lose some right?

Pleasure is to play.

That is correct!

All about the game.

Oh Ice...

I mean look, the competition is fierce and

I was very nervous that I was not gunna

win this time...

I'm so glad I did.

Maybe you'll call me back for some snowman S**T.

HOW TAKING A BREAK FROM YOUTUBE HELPED MY BUSINESS - Duration: 13:43.

Bloggin Brandi where have you been and what have you been up to?

Well, I'm going to tell you.

[Music] so my camera batteries dying, so we're going

to have to work through this.

That's not your problem.

That's like mine.

I have absolutely no background in video.

I just made a lot of videos.

I never had social media when I was in my corporate jobs, went to school for hair, went

to school for finance.

I have degrees in both of those and then I just quit and gave it all up and you know,

started making youtube videos because that's what people do with their life right!

Like I want to be a YouTuber.

But that's not really why I started making youtube videos.

Somehow I fell into this whole youtube thing.

Oh my gosh.

Haven't recorded in a minute?

Actually I have recorded.

I just haven't recorded on this channel.

Bloggin Brandi. if it's your first time here, I'm Brandi!

Welcome to Bloggin Brandi. if y'all don't know, I'm kind of based here in the ATL.

Peace up A-Town Down!

Originally from Alabama, so that's where you hear my southern drawl from.

You can find out more about me on BlogginBrandi.com.

Let's just talk about what's been going on.

If you don't remember my last video, It was about why I was taking a break or essentially

like quitting youtube and I really was just taking a break from my channel, bloggin brandi,

because there's some things that just weren't feeling right and the direction that my company

was going and my brand and I wanted to just kind of get some clarity on that before I

kept ongoing.

If I feel kinda like stressed or strained, the first thing that I do is take a break.

What have I been doing on my break.

Let me just tell you.

Went to Amelia Island with my My girlfriend.

Super Cool.

We've been friends for like ever.

She has this car.

That was like so pimp.

SO PIMP!

She was just like amazing to let me drive.

And it was this Lotus.

And there's only like 1 of 25 in the whole, I don't know if it's world or U.S. but pretty

freaking cool to have like one of 25 and be able to drive it.

[Whistling] [Music] You probably wouldn't want this for everyday car.

It wasn't really like that Comfortable.

Oh and no power steering.

It's like super race car.

It's pretty cool.

Oh, and we went fishing.

So that was kind of fun.

[laughing] Good job, brandi.

What kind of fish is that?

Red fish.

I haven't been fishing to the sea ever.

So that was new.

I didn't really catch anything.

But Of course Ashley saves the day and she caught us some fish and we got to eat fish

that night.

so we ate fish the actual fish that we caught.

Took some pictures on the beach so I could have some content for my Blog.

We went to this wine bar thing?

That was fun.

We did a bunch of stuff at the beach and we stayed there for Gosh, like three, four days.

Seems like a lifetime.

Oh, we went on this party boat too, while we were there.

That was pretty fun [Music] We were singing...

Bye bye miss American pie.

Drove my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry...

Party boat.

Went to Vegas! went to Vegas?

Went to Chicago, went to Florida, visited family.

Vegas was fun!

I really love Vegas.

Vegas is kind of like a second home for me.

So I was king of working on a little blog.

If you go back really far on this channel.

Vegas was kind of like one of the very first videos I've made.

had people in and out of town that have an entertaining.

camping.

I love camping.

Been going camping and trying to find like an rv lot.

I wish I could find an rv parking spot where I can leave it for a while.

I wish it wasn't rented more owned.

plus I wish I had a bigger rv.

So right now I'm kind of stuck with the one I got.

It's a long story.

Oh, Something happened.

And when you smell fire and plastic.

Okay.

So this is my rv life.

This is the second time that I've had this repaired.

I'm going to show you exactly what happened.

I'm rv just burned down almost again.

The second time my rv has almost burned down.

I just had this transfer switch replaced and the same exact thing happened and there's

no storms.

There's nothing going on.

Like I literally have my air conditioner on and nothing is working.

So let me show you what happened.

Okay.

Do you see how burn up this is?

It is all burnt up.

How to spend like $300 on that.

So that was another rv mishap.

So in my life pretty much for the last two years is just been dealing with my rv.

It's just been a mess.

Been working on my rv channel, like I told you, RVersity.

That has been kind of like my main focus.

Oh my gosh.

I got this trailer in for my Rv.

It's been a night mare.

I'm not even sure how to describe it.

You think when you order a trailer that it comes maybe put together, but this trailer

didn't come put together.

I had to put the trailer together.

The guy that sold it to me, was like, "Hey, I just want to let you know this trailer is

on its way and you're going to have to put it together."

I was like, oh what?

huh?

Now that I finally have the trailer together, I'm not really sure if it's safe.

Okay, so this might be the last time we see my smart car or my trailer because we've hooked

it up.

We're going to see, but you have to say this really Janky job we did.

It's just a nightmare and I haven't accomplished that.

So that's one thing to be done so that I can actually register in driving on the road.

Getting my rv fix.

That's what I spend most of my time doing.

FIXING MY RV!

FIXING MY RV! so I know I talk about that.

It's amazing life and you should try it, but honestly there's a lot to deal with.

It's like owning a home besides when I'm trying to work and travel I have to figuring out

how to get Internet.

Then if the RV is broken, I have to drop the rv off and then figuring out how to drive.

Got a smart car.

I got a smart car, so then I bought this trailer for my smart car and it's just been a mess.

I went to social media marketing world.

I've got some videos coming out about that.

I've pushed that off and I feel horrible.

So if anybody went there and there was video's supposed to be coming out about you

and I haven't put it out there.

There's like reason because all this that I have going on, Brand like a boss!

I wrote this book after I left social media marketing world.

If you haven't seen me use the hashtag #BLABoss.

Kind of more to have a little bit of a calling card.

So, when people say like "What do you do?"

Well I wrote a book.

That's one thing.

I'm going to put Some more videos out about this because you have the personal brand,

which is bloggin, Brandi , and then you have the business side which is Brand like a boss

and then you have the RVing side to my business, wrote a book.

It's not perfect, but it's done.

Link to this in the description below if you want to check it out.

I put a bunch of my resources that people ask me about and just kind of trying to learn

how to write a book for one.

I wrote this like literally from scratch.

I took all of the notes and I had in my files and put it into a book, but the other thing

about this is like it's done in a lot of people worry about something being perfect and I

had a bunch of books with presale out on them and then I figured that I was putting this

pressure on myself to get them done.

So I CANCELLED THEM!

What sucks is that I've lost the ability to do presale on Amazon for a year.

I took a lot of stress off of me because I really want to perfect this one and I had

someone amazing "Neal" that went through my book and proof read it for me so I've got

to go back through and do updates and kind of like updated the cover.

Some I'll be putting out an update on this.

If you get the kindle version when I make the updates, they publish to it, but for me

it was just really important to get this done and say this is done and then I can improve

upon it because the other thing is if you never put a product out there, you never get

feedback and you can never make it better.

What else was going on up in this brain! when I've created my rv channel and my book?

Part of that is monetizing your brand, in monetizing my brand.

I do consultations, building websites for people, video ending, helping people set up

their seo, of course setting up social, planning the content.

an APP that I've been working on, merchandise: key chain, tee shirt, slogan.

You can create all the content in the world, but if you don't have something to sell behind

the content that you're creating, then there's no purpose, which is another reason that I

take a break from bloggin Brandi because I needed to create some type of tangible asset,

product.

Not that I didn't already have.

Or things that I didn't work on.

But I really wanted to have a little bit more clarity when people landed on me.

To say like "What do you do?

why can I use her?

Why should we hang out?

Why should I subscribed to her channel? and I made some videos about how to create merchandise

actually on this channel, so you're interested in that video you can check that out.

networking, so after I have created, all this amazing stuff.

have stuff to Sell and talking about it and making videos and just networking, networking.

That's the next step is actually networking and saying, hey, here's what I built.

Let me tell you my story.

I've just been trying to get back into the video thing.

I've been making a lot of videos for our RVersity and the RV channel and that's Kinda like where

i've been putting my focus.

so bloggin Brandi Now it's going to be like I mentioned my personal brand is more of everything,

kind of like grouped into here and I can talk about anything I want to talk about.

so if you want to learn about business and branding then you're going to want to subscribe

to my blaboss, channel.

I'm going to put all this stuff in the description below.

if you want to check out Rving and how that's going.

Like traveling and my house on wheels.

You can see all the fun that's been going down since I've been gone from here.

Link in the description below on that as well.

my book, I'll put a link to that.

A lot of fun stuff that you can check out as well as how to contact me and hang out

with me.

Make sure that they're following me on social.

Subscribe to this channel.

I'm going to hopefully be publishing on here more regularly, so I'm trying to go for once

a week on here, but I'm just kinda like wanting to give you more behind the scenes so this

channel is more of behind the scenes of what's going on with me.

I'm Brandi of blogginBrandi.com. you've been wondering what I've been up to, where I've

been at, what I've been doing.

This is what I've been doing and what I do with my free time.

HiiQ - SEO - Ep. 4: 10 SEO Tips You Can Do Right Now To Improve Your Ranking In 2018! - Duration: 5:10.

Hii! Welcome back to another edition of HiiQ - SEO. Today we'll be discussing some

of the top factors that Google is looking for in your site to rank you

higher. These come from the highly respectable SEO professional, Neil Patel.

Let's take a look at some of the recommendations. One: remove anything that

slows down your site. A slow site is brutal for the user experience and sends

negative ranking signals to Google. Our team likes to utilize tools like

GTmetrix to identify issues and troubleshoot them but you can also use

tools built right into your browser such as Google's own performance grading

that's built right into the chrome web browser. You can find this just by

right-clicking and going inspect element. You may not be able to solve all of the

issues that these tests bring up, but you can try and solve some of the glaring ones

like overly large images or solving broken file links that the browser

wastes a lot of time trying to load, instead of the things that are working

on your site. Two: link to other websites with relevant content. Linking out to

authoritative websites is like citing an academic journal in your essays;

it proves that you've done your research both to the reader and to Google.

Three: rewrite for humans not search engines. Google exists to please its searchers so

if your content sounds like it's written by an SEO robot take a look into

rewriting it and you might see an increase in its ranking and thus traffic.

Google's smarter than you think and it will penalize sites that just write for

robots and not for its human users. Four: reach out to authoritative sites for a

link. Already have a piece of awesome content? Reach out to an authoritative

site and ask them to read it. If they like what they read they might give a

link to your site and increase your overall authority of the page. A single

link from a highly reputable site like The New York Times for instance can

greatly increase your site's authority and trust overnight. Five: leverage google

analytics and search console. We are big on taking the data-driven approach to

any of our marketing. Without analytics in search console in place the

opportunity to optimize your content to the fullest extent is severely limited

but having those tools connected also spoon feeds Google with the necessary

stats to rank your site better. Six: draft unique meta descriptions for all pages

and posts. Meta descriptions are your last chance to entice a searcher to

click on your content. Skyrocket your click-through rate by creating a concise

description that reflects your pages content. Meta descriptions don't directly

affect your SEO per se but think of them as more of a call to action for

searchers that will get them to click to your site thus increasing your overall

site traffic which in turn increases your SEO ranking. Seven: optimize your URL

structure. You don't want to over optimize your URLs by stuffing keywords

into them but if your current URL is simply /article/article-1 you

could be missing out on some valuable ranking position just by changing it to

something more relevant to your post such as,

'/news/latest-fashion-trends-of-summer-2018'. Eight: optimize image file names and alt text using relevant

keywords. Google crawls all the data on a given page when determining what the

content is about. This includes images. Be sure to title the filenames optimally as

well as include keywords in all image alt text. Nine: solicit social shares for

your best content. Asking for social shares is entirely free. You've already

produced the content why not get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible?

2018 studies show that social signals are becoming one of the top factors in

driving traffic to your site and in turn ranking you higher in search results.

Ten: draft new unique pieces of content. When you're done watching our tips of the day

get out there and draft a new piece of content that drives more traffic to your

site ultimately increasing your leads. Use tools like Google Trends to find

some topics that are trending in your industry that have the potential of

driving new readers to your site. But also try not to plagiarize. Google may

down rank you if it thinks you're copying another sites content that has a

higher authority. So if you're using content from another site may be sure to

source it and have a link back to them so that Google sees

you've cited your content and you're not plagiarizing. What other strategies have

led you to success? Get in touch with us or leave us comment below. Today we

covered the need to speed up your website, linking to relevant sites,

writing for humans not robots, getting authoritative links, adding Google

Analytics and search console, crafting unique meta descriptions, optimizing your

URL structure, optimizing your filenames, continuing to social share, and drafting

unique content. If you like what you've seen give us a thumbs up and hit that

2Minutes2Virtue: Are You A Good Example, Too? - Duration: 2:07.

I'm Father Andrew Fisher, the Pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Annandale, Virginia

Each year when people come to our RCIA class for the first time to begin a

journey towards entering the Church and receiving the Sacraments

I always ask them "What brought you here?"

Oftentimes people say "Well I read a book or I saw a movie

One person said that they'd always been a Notre Dame football fan

and that's what brought them to the Catholic Church

But most often, 99% of the time people say they're here

because they met a person who loved the Catholic Faith and who was living it in their daily lives

a co-worker, a neighbor, a family friend

How incredible it is when we live our Faith, that example God can use

In the Gospel today, we hear Jesus talk about how important it is to put

aside all the distractions or the things that could keep us from truly loving Him

and being His disciples

And He goes on to say what a blessing it is when we live our faith as a disciple

How our example can be powerful and important

When we look at the history of the Church, when you see a saint you'll

always see how a saint helped to make other saints

and as Saint Francis of Assisi so beautifully said "Preach the Gospel and use words if necessary"

Today's Gospel reminds us every day to put aside the distractions or the

things that could keep us from being a disciple

Let us seek God and His kingdom first

So that all things in our life lead us to living the Faith

and letting God use our joy in our example every day

Perhaps our challenge this week is to be

mindful of the people God has put into our lives

family, friends or certain saints we have a devotion to

that have been our teachers by word and example

May we be always grateful for the people

God has put into our life that have pointed us to be good disciples and to live our Faith every day

Amen.

131202300 - Replacing Your Frigidaire Dryer's Blower Housing Screw AP2106289 PS417141 - Duration: 9:13.

Hi my name is Bill and today I'm going to be showing you how to replace the screw for

the blower housing on your dryer the reason why you might have to do this is because the

screw is damaged or missing for this repair all you'll need is a phillips head screwdriver

WARNING before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source

so this is the dryer we're

going to be using for this demonstration it's a Frigidaire keep in mind you might have one

thats not quote exactly the same as this but the same technique should still apply just

make sure you turn your gas off so we're going to turn our dryer around so we need to remove

these two screws right here we're going to be using a phillips head screwdriver

and once we have the screws out we can pull the top back and then lift it off and put

it off to the side now we're going to unscrew these two screws here

we'll take off the grounding wire and then we'll unplug all of those wires here and just

make sure when you're removing these wires your pushing in on the tabs to release the

wires from the board so the next thing we're going to do is we're going to have six screws

total that we have to remove we have two here two inside the door and two at the bottom

close the door again now I'm going to make this a little bit easier for the last two

we're going to get the piece of wood and we're going to set it underneath the dryer

now all you have to do is just slightly lift on the bulkhead and it should come right out

now we just have to remove these three wires here now we'll take the lint filter out set

that off to the side now we're going to remove the screws right here holding the board in

now I'm going to remove the two bottom screws

that go to this bulkhead here and

now we can remove the bulkhead we're just going to lift up on it a little bit and move

it from this port and we should be able to pull it right out so here's the drum belt

right here and in order to get it off we're going to have to reach underneath the drum

and in order to get the belt off we're going to have to push up on the lever to release

the tension reach in with our other hand and now we just take this right off so now that

the drum belt is free we can pull up on the belt so it doesn't get caught on anything

and then pull the drum out so this piece right here is our blower housing and you can see

right in there we're missing a screw that goes in the corner so grab your new OEM replacement

screw and if you don't have one already you can find it on our online store so we'll put

our screw into place there and now we can screw it down

and once it's tightened all the way into place you can put everything back together so we're

just going to slide that in like so now to put the drum back on we're going to take the

belt we're going to go on the other side of the wheel here like this we're going to lift

it up and then loop the belt around the shaft here make sure everything is on straight then

everything should be able to spin freely now so now we'll put the bulkhead back in place

and we're just going to need to lift up on the drum a little bit while we do this we're

going to make sure the roller wheels and supporting the drum we're going to make sure that our

tab goes into the slot here for the bulkhead on both sides and now you're going to also

put the tabs into the slots on the support that attaches to the bulkhead and now we can

screw everything back

in now we'll put the lint filter back in so now we'll reattach the wires for the door

switch in case you don't remember you're going to want to make sure you take a picture before

you take the wires off but I just took a look at my own picture and so now I remember where

all the wires should go so now what we're going to do we're going to line up these tabs

here and out those into the slots there's going to be four tabs total so now I'm going

to screw in the screws up top first

so now we'll plug all of our wires back in

now we're going to slide our control panel up and you're going to line up the holes down

here with the little tabs sticking out and we're just going to reattach our grounding

wire here now we're just lining up our holes and screwing it back in

now we'll put the top panel back on and when we do this we'll just slide this all the way

forward until it's in place and then line up your screw holes and screw it back in now

we can turn it back around and your repair is complete now we can turn our gas back on

Finally don't forget to plug in your appliance

if you need to replace any parts for your

appliances you can find an OEM replacement part on our website pcappliancerepair.com

8 Things To Ignore If You've Earned Less Than $1k From Your Studio - Duration: 17:02.

- Hey there, Brian Hood here

from the sixfigurehomestudio.com.

There's a thing that I've noticed

amongst all my conversations with studio owners

that have made less than $1,000 from their studios

and the trend that I see

amongst all of these people is this:

They are overwhelmed, they are spread thin,

they don't know what to do.

They're trying to do literally everything

and the result of that

is they are getting absolutely nothing done.

They're trying to do paid advertising,

they're trying to build a website,

they're trying to get their logo made,

they're trying to get business cards made,

they're trying to go to networking events,

they're trying to do social media.

They're trying to do all of these things

and they have no traction in any of it,

so they are left with, really, no results,

they're not sure why it's not working,

they're really overwhelmed,

and they have no plan for what to do next.

Or even worse, what happens is people see all of the things

they should be doing and they get overwhelmed.

They get paralysis by analysis.

They don't know what to do, and so they do nothing at all.

So, if any of this sounds like you,

then this is the video for you

because I'm gonna cover the eight things

that you can safely and completely ignore

if you have earned less than $1,000 from your studio.

(upbeat jazz music)

Now, all of the things on this list today

are things that are not inherently bad.

As a matter of fact, they're probably good in most cases

but they're not quite right for you

at this stage in your career.

So, if you are taking these things on

and you're implementing these things in your business,

they're really doing nothing more than distracting you.

So, like I said, these are things to maybe do in the future

but things you can safely ignore right now,

and none of these are inherently bad.

Now, the first distraction on our list today is a logo.

A logo seems to be the first thing that most studio owners,

or really any business owner,

jumps to when it comes to starting a new business

or starting a new brand,

and I know in my life, really,

I've started several businesses

of all different shapes and sizes

and the first thing I tend to jump on is the logo,

and this really is more of a distraction by procrastination.

You feel like you're getting things done

when you get your logo done,

but at the end of the day,

to break that $1,000 barrier,

that $1,000 of income barrier in your studio,

you don't have to have a logo.

You don't need a logo.

As a matter of fact, I would say completely ignore the logo

until you've crossed that threshold

because until you have made the $1,000 mark,

it's just a distraction you're using to procrastinate.

Well, I can't reach out to people,

I can't network with people.

I can't get any clients until I have a logo, right?

Well, that's just an excuse you're going to give yourself,

so count this as my permission

for you to ignore the entire logo thing

until you've broken that $1,000 threshold.

That doesn't mean you always will ignore it,

that doesn't mean you don't ever have

to have a logo for your studio,

but you are most likely,

and this is no knock on you if this is you,

but almost all entrepreneurs that I have met,

including myself, will use the logo as an excuse

to not get starting doing the things

you really need to do in your business.

So thing number one, completely ignore the logo.

Now, distraction number two is business cards.

This is something that people jump on immediately,

just like the logo thing,

and they feel like they're getting a lot of things done

when they get their logo done, they get the 500,

the little pack of 500 business cards printed out

and shipped out to them,

and then I finally have my business card,

I'm a real business.

That's not the case, it's really a distraction.

Business cards are something that I don't, I've never had.

I personally don't have myself,

and I think you can get a really long way

without having those,

but that's not to say you shouldn't ever have them.

If you have made less than $1,000 in your studio, however,

ignore it.

Do not get business cards, you do not deserve them yet.

(chuckles)

I say this nicely.

I say this because I don't want you

to focus your effort and time and energy and money

on things that are not going to

really make a difference in your business yet.

So, thing number two, distraction number two

that you can completely and safely ignore right now

are business cards.

Distraction number three is your website,

and really, these first three things here

are the first three things that any entrepreneur,

including myself when I start new businesses,

I tend to wanna gravitate towards the website thing.

And in some businesses, it's completely essential,

but in the studio world,

I don't think a website is going to

make or break your first $1,000.

As a matter of fact, I think it's a distraction

that you should completely ignore.

You don't need a logo, you don't need business cards.

You do not need a website

if you have not broken that $1,000,

that magic $1,000 barrier, in your audio career.

This is something again, that's great for the future.

I 100% recommend that every studio have a website

after they've crossed that $1,000 threshold,

but until you hit that $1,000 mark,

that magical $1,000 number that says

okay, you are serious about this,

you have some amount of traction, you've had some clients,

and now it's time to start taking things seriously.

When you've done that, then you can get a website.

Until then, it is safe to ignore the entire website thing.

It's just gonna be a distraction for you right now.

I know many studios, by the way,

that have crossed the $10,000,

and tens of thousands of dollars mark without the website.

So it can be done,

I don't recommend it, getting that far into your career

without a website for your studio,

but the $1,000 mark, you can safely ignore your website

until you have crossed that income threshold.

So distraction number three,

completely ignore the website for now.

Now for distraction number four.

This is social media.

Social media is something to completely be ignored

for any new studio owner,

and before I start getting hate mail from you,

I do recommend having a Facebook page for your studio

or for your brand or for your mixing, your personal brand,

if you're just a mixing engineer and you go under your name.

I do recommending having a business Facebook page

for people to contact you,

as a good alternative to a website.

If you're brand new at this, instead of having a website,

it's smart to have a Facebook page.

But, past the point of setting everything up

and having a way for people to contact you,

and then, maybe posting occasionally,

once every couple of weeks,

with a new piece of music for your portfolio.

Anything past that is a waste of time,

and a waste of effort and a big distraction

on what really matters in your business.

Social media strategy, if you Google everything

about content marketing and social media marketing

and digital marketing,

if you Google all these things and look up YouTube videos,

they're gonna have all these things

where you post three to four times a day at specific hours

or you post every single day of the week.

This is something that's gonna be

a massive distraction for you,

it's not gonna bring in a bunch of leads

for you right now,

this is not the lowest hanging fruit

for your business right now

if you're less than $1,000 of income from your studio.

So, if that is you,

completely ignore number four here, social media,

and save that time and effort for the things

I'm gonna be talking about later in this video.

So, distraction number five is one of my favorites,

and it's paid advertising.

And it's one of my favorites because this is the one

that people seem to gravitate towards

when they're struggling to find clients to work with.

Any studio under $1,000 of total income

would say that they struggle with

finding enough clients to work with,

and in the back of their head,

they think that they can just market their way to success.

If you are struggling to get clients,

you're under $1,000 of income,

paid advertising is gonna be nothing more

than a waste of time and a lot of money.

Any money you put into at this point in your career

is most likely going to be a waste,

and that's because to reach that $1,000 threshold

takes very few things,

and paid advertising is definitely not one of those things

you should be putting your time and effort into.

If you need more on this, I have an article about this,

you can go to thesixfigurehomestudio.com/marketing.

This is an article about why most studios fail

and it has nothing to do with marketing,

and if you don't believe me,

if you don't think paid advertising

is a complete waste of time,

especially for early-stage studios,

then go read that article

and I guarantee your mind will be changed.

Distraction number six is another thing

that I see a lot of questions about,

and that is pricing.

Specifically, price optimization.

That is the distraction I want you to avoid right here.

If you are early in your career,

you should not be worrying about what you can charge,

you know, how to get the most out of your clients.

You shouldn't be worried about should I double my prices,

should I charge $100, $150, should I do per song or per day?

Really doesn't matter, it's a distraction at this point.

At this point, your entire focus should be

how can I over-deliver for every single client

that I work with?

The very few that you have.

How can I over-deliver so that

they are going to be clients for life?

They're gonna be coming back to me

again and again and again.

And how can I under-promise and over-deliver?

How can I charge a rate

that's enough to get me my $1,000, right?

That's one thing, you have to charge something

and it has to be, you're not gonna charge $10 a song

and reach $1,000 of income at any time soon,

but if you're in the $50 to $100 to $150 range

per song or per day, that's a good, safe bet.

You don't have to worry about getting the absolute most.

Don't worry about extracting value from people,

worry about adding value to people, and then,

and only once you're past the $1,000 to $10,000 mark,

then you can start worrying about,

well, should I charge per song or per day,

should I do $50 or $100 or $150?

Should I start asking budgets?

All those things can come later, but for now,

those conversations, those questions, those strategies

are a complete waste of time and effort and focus,

and really, it's gonna just serve the wrong thing,

which is making the most money you can,

when it should be, right now,

making your clients as happy as possible.

When you're at the $1,000 threshold,

then you can start worrying about these other things,

until then it's a distraction, it's a waste of time,

and you can safely ignore price optimization.

Distraction number seven is

focusing too much on a niche right now.

And this is something,

if you listen to The Six Figure Home Studio Podcast,

over at thesixfigurehomestudio.com/podcast, hint, hint,

if you listen to podcast,

we talk about niching down all the time.

It's a fantastic tool for increasing your income

and increasing sustainability in the home studio world

and finding your little niche,

your little place to live long term.

That's great for people that are at a certain level.

But if you are less than $1,000 of total income

for your studio,

that is way, way, way too soon to be worrying about a niche.

You don't need to worry about focusing on metal bands

or hard core bands or EDM or hip hop,

or just mixing or mastering.

You don't need to worry about doing a podcast studio

or a vocal-only studio.

All these things are distractions for you

if you're at the level of $1,000 or less of income

from your studio.

Once you get past that point,

I 100%, wholeheartedly, am behind you finding a niche,

or niching down as we call it,

but until you reach that threshold

of $1,000 of earned income from your studio,

niching down is not the move.

You don't know what you're good at yet.

You don't know what kind of clients

or what kind of niches are attracted to you.

You don't know what you're really gonna enjoy

until you've tried a lot of everything.

So it's okay to be a generalist,

to do everything when you're at this early,

early stage of your career,

because the last thing I'd want you to do

is to focus on a niche that is not right for you,

and until you've been able to really play the field,

to see what it's all like and see what it all entails,

niching down too soon is going to do nothing but limit you.

So again, if you are less than $1,000 of income

from your studio, you can safely ignore niching down.

And finally, number eight.

The eighth distraction on our list is gear.

Specifically, buying more than $1,000-$5,000 worth of gear.

Anything past that point is a waste of time

and effort and money

that you should be spending on your business in other areas.

And, if anything, you should just be holding onto that money

as an emergency fund or saving it up

instead of spending it on gear.

My studio, I started with $5,000,

which is honestly more than

I would recommend for most people, but I earned,

my first $30,000 year was my first year with $5,000 of gear.

I actually probably made my first six figures total

with about $5,000 or $6,000 worth of gear.

Now, I don't recommend you going that far with it,

but if you have $1,000 of gear,

you do not need to worry about gear

until you've crossed the $1,000 of income point.

If you have $5,000 of gear,

you definitely don't need to be worrying about gear

until you've crossed the $1,000 income point.

If you already have that much gear,

then I will bet you $1,000 that that is not the thing

that is holding you back from breaking that threshold.

There is a lot of other things you can focus on,

in which we're gonna talk about in a second,

but gear, if you have $1,000-$5,000 of gear,

and you've earned less than $1,000 from your studio,

do not put another penny into gear

until you have done the other things

that you should be doing in your business.

Do not worry about gear.

So, if you have earned less than $1,000 from your studio,

you can safely ignore buying any more gear for now.

So to wrap all this up,

if you earned less than $1,000 of income from your studio,

you can safely ignore your logo,

you don't need business cards, you don't need a website yet,

you don't need to worry about social media strategy,

you don't need to worry about paid advertising.

You can ignore price optimization, you can ignore a niche,

and you can ignoring buying any more gear

past the $1,000 point.

Those are all distractions for you right now.

And again, none of those things are inherently bad,

but they are nothing more than distractions

for those of you that are less than $1,000 of income

from your studio.

You should be focused on four things,

and really, only four things right now, in your career.

The first is education.

Education is something you should never really let up,

but especially this early in your career,

you're probably not getting clients for one of two reasons.

One is, you're not very good.

Most people at that income level

are not quite where they should be skill-wise,

and so they're gonna continue to struggle to find clients

until they get their skills to the point

that they should be.

Now, that's a common issue, but the even more common issue

that I see at this level is mindset.

They don't understand

that they are capable of doing certain things,

they're beaten down, they have no self-confidence,

and they don't know, really, how to interact with people.

A lot of this comes down to reading books and articles

and watching YouTube videos

and reading blog articles about mindset, as much as skills,

because those two things go hand in hand

to getting you past that $1,000

and beyond point from your income.

So, thing number one, focus on your education.

Once you get that out of the way,

thing number two is focus on your relationships.

These are the people in your surroundings:

your friends, your family,

your acquaintances, your co-workers.

These are all people that are going to help

bring you clients in the future.

There's also the people that are gonna help

connect you to other people,

that are gonna help improve your career.

So, other audio engineers,

other professionals in your area,

other people that can help improve skills, other mentors.

Your relationships at the end of the day

are one of the most important pieces,

and if you have absolutely no roots dug into your city,

you have no connections,

you know no people in this industry

that are musicians or other audio engineers.

Relationships are really where it's gonna move the needle.

If you don't have any of those relationships yet,

that should be one of your main focuses, for sure.

So that's thing number two.

Thing number three is lead generation.

If you're a new studio, you have no real income,

less than $1,000 of income,

then nothing's gonna change

if you don't have potential projects coming in the door.

Those are leads.

A lead is someone that is gonna record soon

or gonna need your service soon,

and a lead is someone, you have to find those leads.

You have to generate those leads.

So, you have to go out there and get those leads.

Now, relationships, networking,

all those things are gonna help generate leads to you,

but there's a lot of other ways you can do this,

like cold outreach.

Paid advertising is a method you can use,

but again, that's one you should ignore for now.

But there are a bunch of different ways

you can do lead generation, but at the end of the day,

that is the third thing you absolutely have to focus on

if you haven't broken that $1,000 threshold.

Again, very few projects are just gonna fall into your lap

at this level in your career,

you have to go out and find them.

So that's thing number three, generating leads.

And the fourth and final thing is sales.

If you can't turn those leads into customers,

if you can't do the entire sales process,

converting a lead to a customer,

it's gonna be a very long and hard road for you.

You have to be able to have the confidence and ability

and know-how to turn someone that is maybe interested,

that has a project that doesn't quite know you,

and turn them into someone that trusts you

with their babies, really.

They worked their lives,

or their entire last year or two on these songs.

They hold it close and near and dear to their hearts,

and now they're hiring a stranger, potentially,

to work on these songs as a producer or a mixing engineer

or mastering engineer or a composer.

If that's you, you have to be able to understand

the psychology of sales.

And so, that goes back to the education, thing number one.

If you don't understand the sales process,

this takes some education, it takes some trial and error,

and it takes some experience.

The good thing is, it's okay to be bad at this.

It's okay to be bad at sales.

You have to be bad before you can get good,

but you have to understand that if you don't focus on sales,

if you don't know how to sell people,

it's gonna be a very difficult thing.

Now, a lot of times your portfolio will speak for itself.

If you're great at what you do, that's really 90% of it,

but at the end of the day, that final 10%

is really what's gonna get people off the fence

of recording with you,

or with your competitor down the road.

So again, those four things are education, relationships,

lead generation, and sales.

If you wanna go more into depth with any of this,

I have a free workshop that I do.

It's at theprofitable.studio,

that's the URL, theprofitable.studio

You can go to that, you can sign up for that workshop,

and I cover the three really important things

for your studio.

The first I cover is lead generation.

I teach you a method that you can repeat every single week,

every single month to generate leads for your studio.

It's gonna be very important

if you're trying to break that $1,000 mark for your studio.

Thing number two that I teach in that workshop

is how to sell people.

How to turn someone from a stranger to a customer.

I teach a very specific framework

called The Needs Discovery Analysis,

I teach that in this workshop.

And thing number three that I teach in that workshop

is how to get a fair rate for what you're doing.

I'm not talking about how to maximize your pricing,

I'm not talking about how to get the absolute most

you possibly can to extract from someone.

Again, like I talked about earlier in this video,

you should be talking about over-delivering,

not extracting value from people,

but the third thing I teach

is how to get a fair rate for your services

so that you can break that $1,000 mark.

So, if you want that workshop,

again, it's at theprofitable.studio, that's the URL.

Go up, sign up for that.

It's a 90-minute workshop, it's very in-depth.

It goes over a lot of the things

that I didn't get to cover in this video,

including mindset, including sales,

including lead generation.

So again, theprofitable.studio.

Until next time, happy hustling and thanks for watching.

WE4M415 - Replacing Your GE Dryer's Door Switch AP4366862 PS2344321 - Duration: 8:37.

Hi my name is Bill and today I'm going to be showing you how to replace your dryer door

switch the reason why you might have to do this is because the dryer won't turn on or

because it won't turn off when you're opening the door for this repair we'll be using a

phillips head screwdriver and a flat head screwdriver

WARNING before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source

so this is the appliance we'll be using in this demonstration

it's a GE keep in mind yours at home might look a little bit different than what we have

here but the same technique should still apply just make sure you turn your gas off so we're

going to start by turning your dryer around so what we'll need to do is remove these screws

up here in order to get the control panel off

so now that we have the back unscrewed we can just slide the control panel over and

we're going to lift it up and we're going to put it back in this space right here now

we're going to open up our dryer door and on either side there are two screws going

straight up so we need to remove those screws now and we're going to be using a phillips

head screwdriver take these screws

out now that we have those screws out we can take the top off all we have to do is lift

up and pull it back slightly on the top and we'll set that off to the side so now that

I have these screws out I'm going to close up our dryer door now I have two more screws

in the front panel and I'm going to have to remove those as well and when you remove them

just make sure that when you get close to having them come out you're going to have

to catch them because they can fall down into the dryer

now that we have those screws out we can tilt the front panel forward and once we have it

tilted forward and separated from the drum we can lift it up over the tabs on the bottom

and just turn it like so cause we have some wires attached to it as well so now what I'm

going to do is detach some of these wires here the first one I'm going to detach is

this black one connected right over here and to do that I'm just going to use a flat head

screwdriver and pry up now I have this plastic guard in my way a little bit and I'm just

going to pull slightly out like that so just remove it from the frame and now I can move

it out of my way again don't move it too far you don't want to break it and we'll move

it just enough so that I can use my screwdriver and pry these wires off and we just need to

unplug our white wire and we'll just pull that straight out of here so now I'm just

going to remove this last wire here and once again just pulling it straight out so there's

a clip on the other side as well so we're just using our screwdriver to push that up

and take the switch out now gran your new OEM replacement door switch if you don't have

one already you can find one on our online store push that up we're going to reattach

that to the middle this is a white wire that goes up along the edge of the door and goes

to the light so that's plugged in now and now with this last one we can attach right

there there we go now I'm going to put this plastic piece back into place so

right into that slot right there and we'll plug our last wire in and you're just going

to make sure that these slight bumps there line up with the holes on the side and that

fits in nicely and now I'll put the front panel back on so now we're going to line up

our front panel with the tabs on the bottom we're going to set those into those tabs and

stand the door up as we do that we're also going to line up with the drum and the inside

of that plastic piece is going in the drum and we also have these metal tabs on the side

that are going into the slots on the frame so once those are all lined up and the panels

flush we can screw it back on so now we're going to get our screws started in this hole

here and then after we get this started screw it down nice and tight

same thing on this side start our screw in by hand and use our phillips head screwdriver

to finish the job now I'm going to put the top back on and you'll

see there are two tabs sticking out from the top there are going to be two slots that correspond

with them we're going to line all of those up so after I line those up I'm going to make

sure that the tabs go in the slots just like that and there's a couple on the front as

well so now we can screw that back in so we'll put in our screw and with that little tiny

hole at the top you should be able to line up the screw with the hole that it belongs

to there once you have that started a little bit then were screwing it in now we're going

to put our lint filter back into place since that came out a little while ago and now we'll

close our dryer door now we can line our control panel back up and slide that back over and

set that back into place so now we can screw it back in now we can turn our dryer back

around and then once we do that we'll plug everything back in and your repair is complete

no we can turn our gas back on

Finally don't forget to plug in your appliance

if you need to replace any parts for your appliances

you can find an OEM replacement part on our website

My first MMJ karaoke video: "Make Him Wait" by Abby Anderson • Instrumental • Lyrics • MusicMakerJam - Duration: 3:44.

[Verse 1] When he calls you

You don't have to answer right away Make him wait

And when he small talks Before he asks you on a date

Make him wait When his Pontiac's in the driveway

And his eyes are midnight blue Take a deep breath

Do the opposite of what you wanna do

[Chorus] Make him wait

By the phone At the door to meet your dad

Before the first kiss, he's gotta hold your hand

You can't get it back when you give yourself away

A boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay Girl, make him wait

Make him wait

[Verse 2] When he says that

It'd be easier if you just stay the night Make him wait

You're gonna wanna And you're thinkin you just might

But make him wait

[Chorus] Make him wait

By the phone At the door to meet your dad

Before the first kiss, he's gotta hold your hand

You can't get it back when you give yourself away

A boy's gonna run but a real man's gonna stay Girl, make him wait

Make him wait

[Bridge] They told me love is worth the weight in gold

Like that ring on your hand So when you find the one

The staying kind Then he won't mind

[Chorus 2] If you make him wait

In his tux Cello sings you down the aisle

Walk slow, take your time While your daddy cries and your mama smiles
