Waching daily Oct 1 2018

[Music]

That should be enough, now I need a change.

[Music]

Mmm-hmm, now I don't know about you but after an exhausting day in the garden,

mowing the lawn, taking care of the flowers, I like to relax with an alcohol-free beer.

And besides, it's Oktoberfest season here in Germany.

So, I think this all fits in perfectly. Now, this sounds like we're

going to be talking about food and beverages today but we're actually talking about hoses.

Now, hoses are not only used to transport water from A to B but also for many other things in our daily life

and I'd like to welcome Cengiz Citlak from our hose experts at Continental to talk to us.

Cengiz, nice to have you.

Yeah, thanks for having me.

I gotta tell you you look more like a fireman with that hose over your shoulder though.

Yeah, with regards to your thirst it sounds like. But probably, you already have been in touch with this hose.

I'm just trying to stay hydrated you know.

[Music]

So, tell us what this has to do with your field of expertise.

Yeah, let me start with with this example here.

So, it's a hose which is having different layers. You can see here the inner layer,

the reinforcement and here we have the cover.

That's pretty thick.

Yeah, absolutely and this is a special hose for breweries.

The special thing about this is the inner layer where we are completely

compliant with all the regulations and all the standards required.

Okay, okay.

This is for the beverage side or the brewery side and here we also have

another one which is more used in dairies.

And we're not only talking about

beverages like beer and orange juice there's probably a lot more, right?

A lot more. So, just to give you an idea about that

it's dairies: milk, cheese, butter,

[Series of items]

...and trail mix.

That is a lot. Now, you mentioned a lot of fluids,

but also granular materials like trail mix at the end.

Yeah.

What's the biggest difference between these when conveying them through hoses?

We have here a speciality which is helpful if you look to conductivity.

When I rub a balloon on my head.

Exactly.

That's a good example. So, you see here we have the same effect

for the hose but this hose is capable to get rid of the conductivity.

That is crazy and amazing at the same time. I didn't know you actually had to

do something like that. But, what's also cool is that you can equip each hose

with a special ability, right?

Absolutely. Looking for example for this type of hose:

So, here we do also have a plastic inner layer. But, without conductivity because

here a different application plays a role.

Can you imagine what problems occur with curry, for example?

Ahh, besides, that it tastes really good...stains?

Yeah, true.

Right?

Let's try it.

Okay.

So, you want me to put some on there right?

Absolutely.

[Music]

And please...

Ah, okay, you want me to mess it up. How about that?

Mmm-hmm, that smells good.

Yeah, you have a napkin here.

And you will see...

Look at that. Comes out perfectly clean.

Yeah.

Now, that looks pretty good and looks easy to clean of course with this prop we have here.

But, how do I look inside, how do I know there's nothing left?

For cleaning purposes we are using steam.

Mm-hmm, okay.

And we have to look inside.

Aha! You look inside with, let me guess, with one of these. Am I right?

Wow, yes, that's an endoscope and we can perfectly use this one to look inside a hose.

I have here another example of state-of-the-art and high quality swage fittings

that we recommend for the market.

And we are now looking inside. We can see the swaging which is important to judge...and you!

I just love the gimmicks we have here on the show. I know how it works

and I hope you do also ladies and gentlemen.

There's one more thing we need to do and that is take a picture.

So, Cengiz, are you ready? On three: one, two, three.

[Music]

That's gonna be a fantastic picture. So, thank you very much for coming out. I hope you enjoyed it.

Yeah, absolutely Chris.

I hope you enjoyed it also and be sure to tune in again next time for the new episodes of The Garage.

Until then take good care, bye-bye.

Bye.

10 Important Skills Rich People Have Which Poor People Don't Have - Duration: 10:47.

10 Important Skills Rich People Have which poor people don't have

Raghu Rai said, "Skills are never taught, they are acquired.

I can give you a camera, but can't feed vision".

Over a period of many years, people who end up being successful have worked hard to acquire

some very important skills that allow them to be more successful than others.

In this video, we'll be sharing with you 10 of the most important skills you need to

be successful and how you can acquire those skills and become more successful.

Skill No. 8 is very important and we need you to see it, so try and watch this video

till the end.

If you're new here, consider subscribing so that you won't miss other interesting

videos like this.

Skill No. 1

Communication skill

Kevin O'Leary was once asked how he decides which entrepreneur he'll invest with.

His answer was very simple; anyone who can explain his idea in 90 seconds.

To become successful, you must know how to communicate effectively.

Whether you're trying to get someone to finance your business, partner with you or

do you some other favour, your ability to communicate effectively is what determines

your outcome.

What should you do?

Pick up few books about how to develop your communication skills.

Also study a little about human psychology so you'll understand how people think because

if you don't understand human beings, you can't communicate effectively or get what

you want from them.

No. 2 Networking skill

I saw a video of Mark Zuckerberg few days ago where he was talking about how his friendship

with some people while in college helped him to become successful.

Not just him, according to a study, 79% of wealthy people network 5 hours or more each

month.

Why do rich network?

You see, we're living in a very complex world where you can only know a few things.

If you don't hang around other ambitious people, there are tons of things you just

won't know and your progress will be very slow.

Take for instance, Bill Gates discovered the idea for Microsoft from a Magazine he borrowed

from a friend.

What if he didn't network enough to have such friend?

Why do you need networking skill?

Networking with the right people will help you to know what you'll ordinarily won't

know.

Plus, these people will be a source of constant challenge and inspiration for you.

No. 3 Vision skill

Jeff Bezos started Amazon in the year 1996 at the time when only 0.9% of the world is

on the internet.

Now, we have more than 3 billion people on the internet.

It's easy to do things when it has become popular.

The hardest thing to do is the thing that no one is doing yet and that's what the

rich do.

How can you develop your vision?

Be like Mark Cuban, always ask yourself, "Where is the world going and how can I get there

first?"

Don't think like everyone who follows the crowd.

Go to unknown places and try to create something yet to be popular.

The more you practice trying to see the invisible, the better you can become.

No. 4 Selling skill

Herb Cohen is the author of "You Can Negotiate Anything" and he believes that we're negotiating

every day of our life.

Whether you're an employee, a politician, a scientist or an entrepreneur, we are all

sellers but not many of us are good at it.

How can you improve your selling skill?

Be conscious of the fact that you're selling.

This alone should help you in so many ways.

No. 5 Focus skill

Steve Job was known to be a genius but most people don't know his secret.

According to him, his motto was "Focus and simplicity".

Most successful people simply focus on one thing all their life.

Think about this.

Warren Buffet has been investing since age 11.

Michael Jackson started singing at 5 and did only that all his life.

Tiger wood started playing golf at 3 and do that till today.

Bill Gates started selling games as a teenager and remain an entrepreneur all his working

life.

Focus.

Focus.

Focus on few important things is what separate successful people from others.

How can you apply this?

Don't be proud of being a super generalist.

Know what you are good at and focus only on that.

No 6 Delegation skill

Poor people usually love doing things by themselves.

Rich people love delegating.

Let's face it, we all have only a few hours in the day.

How can you get much done by doing everything yourself?

What's the way out?

Don't be a perfectionist.

Learn how to sit back and get someone else to do what you should why you focus on doing

something more important.

No. 7 Leadership skill

John C. Maxwell said, "Everything rises and falls on leadership".

He believes you cannot go far in life if you're not a good leader and I think he's right

because to be successful in any field, you must have tens and hundreds of people who

either work with you or follow you.

How do you get this people to remain with you?

How do you get them to see the vision?

How do you get them to be committed to a set goal?

All these require leadership skills.

How do you become good at leadership?

In my experience, the best way to be good at leadership is to take responsibility for

leadership.

Look around in your church, community or school and get involve.

Take responsibility, deal with people and volunteer to solve simple problems whenever

you belong.

No. 8 Negotiation skill

Successful people take time to understand human beings, their strengths and weaknesses.

With these understanding, they always know how to get what they want whenever they want

it.

How can you be good at negotiation?

We recommend you read the Herb Cohen's book, "You can negotiate anything"

No. 9 Decision making skill

What most people of the world do is to make new-year resolution.

Com'on, that's not decision.

Decision is not making until proactive, determined and massive actions follows.

You can't claim to have decided to start a business until you actual start one.

You can't claim to have decided to quit smoking until you actually quit for a year.

You don't decide until you act.

You don't even decide until you persist after your few actions don't yield the expected

results.

How can you improve your decision making skills?

Stop respecting yourself for being a dreamer or a talker.

Make it known to your real self that the only thing that matters to your progress in life

is actions, massive and determined actions.

No. 10 Reading skill

According to research from Thomas Crowley, 85 percent of self-made millionaires read

two or more books per month.

Most people of the world rarely read anything else after school.

Why is reading so important?

Very simple.

There are people all over the world who have achieved what you're planning to achieve

right now.

Many of these people have even died and those who are alive are not physically accessible

to you but they have written down what they learned and how you can achieve what they

achieved.

Book is the only thing in the world that can help you to meet with great people dead and

alive you cannot otherwise meet with.

We don't have to tell you how to read because you definitely know how.

Hahahaha….

In summary, if you want to be successful in life the following skills are very important;

Communication skill Networking skill

Vision skill Delegation skill

Selling skill Focus skill

Reading skill Negotiation skill

Decision making skill Leadership skill

6 Powerful Garlic Remedies. Do You Know What They Are?|HFE♪ - Duration: 9:14.

6 Powerful Garlic Remedies. Do You Know What They Are?

Even though you shouldn't swap prescribed treatments with these garlic remedies, you can use them as an additional treatment to relieve and improve various problems.

Home garlic remedies have been natural antibiotics for ages.

Garlic originates from Central Asia and, famous for its properties and countless therapeutic benefits, it has been used as an alternative medicine in India and Ancient Egypt.

People have also used garlic as a natural remedy to treat, or prevent, a wide variety of diseases.

Garlic is one of the medicinal plants scientifically proven to boast the most curative properties.

It's naturally antibacterial and antiseptic thanks to its high sulfur content.

Among its components are: Glucoside Enzymes Vitamins A, B1, B2, C Niacin Sulfur Garlic has been shown to be effective against bacteria such as staphylococcus, streptococci, salmonella as well as fungus.

In addition, garlic also boosts the body's defenses by raising white blood cell production.

Powerful home remedies 1.

Curing the flu Eating a clove or two of garlic every day could be a way to prevent the flu.

Among garlic's components, it has a chemical substance called "allicin".

Allicin is effective for fighting against viruses and bacteria.

Chewing and crushing garlic releases allicin, thus allowing us to benefit from its curative properties.

Treating varicose veins Garlic is a huge help when you're trying to control varicose veins.

However, you have to use the treatment consistently to see results.

Ingredients 6 cloves of garlic 3 tablespoons of olive oil (48 g) Lemon juice Preparation Slice the garlic cloves and mix them with the olive oil and lemon juice in a glass container with a lid.

Cover and leave to meld for 12 hours.

Application Massage the ointment into the affected area using circular motions.

Using this remedy will activate your blood circulation, reducing the inflammation in the area.

Homemade cough syrup Garlic is a natural antibiotic that can work for any kind of respiratory problem.

However, you need to know how to use it.

If you make this syrup, you have to consume it while it's still fresh.

It loses its properties quickly over time.

Ingredients 1 previously cooked garlic 3 tablespoons of honey (75 g) 3 tablespoons of olive oil (48 g) Preparation Crush or chop the previously cooked garlic.

Mix it with the honey and, after, with the olive oil.

When cooking the garlic, don't expose the it to temperatures higher than 60ºC as it could lose its properties.

The resulting syrup has a relieving affect because it soften the mucus in the bronchial tubes.

This syrup has no side-effects because it only uses natural ingredients and not chemicals.

Lowers blood pressure Garlic also contains potassium, which reduces excess levels of sodium and acts as a wonderful diuretic.

It helps remove liquids from the body, preventing them from accumulating.

As a result, it makes for a great treatment to regulate blood pressure.

Ingredients 2 grated cloves of garlic ½ cup of sugar (100 g) 1 cup of water (200 ml) Preparation Mix the grated garlic together with the sugar and cup of water until it forms a syrup.

Take two tablespoons a day to lower blood pressure.

Eliminates warts Garlic has antiviral components that'll take care of the warts that result from human papilloma virus.

Ingredients 1 clove of garlic Utensils 1 bandage Application Crush the garlic into a paste and apply it directly onto the wart.

Cover the area with the bandage and leave it on the entire night.

The next morning, take off the bandage and wash off with water.

Apply the garlic again and cover with a bandage.

Repeat the process every day until the wart disappears.

Bone and joint pain Garlic is a powerful ingredient for people who suffer from arthritis thanks to its selenium and sulfur content.

It helps relieve joint pain and inflammation because selenium has anti-rheumatic properties.

Patients with arthritis often have low selenium levels in their blood.

Ingredients 2 cloves of garlic 2 tablespoons of mustard oil (30 g) Preparation Stir-fry the garlic cloves in the 2 tablespoons of mustard oil.

When they turn black, turn off the heat.

Remove the garlic.

Let the oil cool and use it to massage the affected area.

Leave on for at least 3 hours and after, wash off with water.

Apply two times a day and you'll notice rapid relief.

Remember Garlic is a natural element that works great for these problems.

However, if you ever have any health-related questions, you should always see a medical specialist.

Who was Mary Prince? Everything You need to Know about British autobiographer Mary Prince. - Duration: 1:15.

Who was Mary Prince?

Everything You need to Know about British autobiographer Mary Prince.

Today The Search Engine Google is showing a Doodle for Mary Prince.

Google celebrate Mary Prince's 230th Birthday in a few countries with a doodle.

Mary Prince was born in 1788 and died in 1833 at the age of 45.

She was a British abolitionist and autobiographer, born in Bermuda to an enslaved family of African

descent.

Subsequent to her escape, when she was living in London, England, she wrote her slave narrative

The History of Mary Prince (1831), which was the first account of the life of a black woman

to be published in the United Kingdom.

This first-hand description of the brutalities of enslavement, released at a time when slavery

was still legal in Bermuda and British Caribbean colonies, had a galvanising effect on the

anti-slavery movement.

It was reprinted twice in its first year.

Prince had her account transcribed while living and working in England at the home of Thomas

Pringle, a founder of the Anti-Slavery Society.

She had gone to London with her master and his family in 1828 from Antigua.

How Does The Nobel Prize Work? - Duration: 5:26.

This video is not sponsored by the Nobel Foundation.

When Alfred Nobel felt guilty about the fact

that the very invention that made him extremely rich

also ended up killing a lot of people

he decided to give away most of his fortune

upon his death to award those

who have contributed the most to the progress of humanity.

And by contributions to the progress of humanity

he meant contributions to the fields of

Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Peace Activism.

The Nobel Prize is considered to be

the most prestigious award in these fields

but how does it exactly work?

To understand the Nobel Prize

we need to talk about the Nobel Foundation.

Long and complicated story short

The Nobel Foundation is a private company

that manages Nobel's fortune and the

administration of the Nobel Prize.

The Foundation does not, however, take part

in the actual selection process

since Nobel had very specific institutions in mind.

They are:

* The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for Physics and Chemistry

* the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm for Medicine

* the Swedish Academy for Literature

* and the Norwegian Nobel Committee for Peace.

For every Nobel Prize there is a Nobel Committee

a working body of five members plus a secretary

selected from their parent institutions.

Except for the Peace Prize.

You're gonna hear this often.

The parent institution in the case of the Peace Prize

is the Storting - the Norwegian Parliament.

Unlike other parent institutions, the Storting only

selects the members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee

and does nothing more.

This makes the Norwegian Nobel Committee

both the working body and the deciding body

for the Peace Prize.

Got all that?

Onto step one : Nominations.

In September, the Nobel Committees

send out super secret invitation letters

to a list of super special nominators,

in which they can nominate

one person and/or their work for the respective Nobel Prize.

There are only two rules when it comes to

who can and who cannot be nominated

You cannot nominate yourself

and you cannot nominate someone dead.

To be a part of this special list of nominators, you must be:

* A Member of the parent institution

(or)

* A Member of the Nobel Committee

(or)

* A Nobel Laureate in that field

(or)

* A tenured professor in that field at Universities across

Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

There are exceptions to this.

Of course.

Presidents of national literary societies

get to nominate candidates for the Literature Prize

and members of national assemblies and heads of states

get to nominate candidates for the Peace Prize.

Additionally the Nobel Committee sometimes

includes scientists and experts who don't exactly fall

under these crtieria, but are included at the Committee's discretion.

The nominators must send their nomination forms

back by the 31st of January, which is when we get to

The Selection Process.

The committees then compile all the nominations

into a very long list which is screened and reduced

to a more manageable number.

Sometimes this is easy because

there are always several duplicate submissions

but usually, the list is

300 names long.

After a month of screening

the list of preliminary candidates is sent to experts

and advisers for their assessment.

In the case of the Literature Prize,

the shortlisted works are assigned as

a summer reading assignment for

the members of the Swedish Academy.

After experts are consulted and literary works are studied

the Nobel Committees prepare their final report

using the assessments from the experts.

The committees then submit the report along

with their own recommendations to the deciding body

within their parent institution.

For Physics and Chemistry

it's the Physics and Chemistry classes of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

For Medicine, it's the Nobel Assembly in the Karolinska Institute

And because the Swedish Academy contains only 18 members

And the Norwegian Nobel Committee contains only 5 members

the entire institutions get to be the deciding bodies.

This brings us to step three : decision time.

The reports are then discussed in excruciating detail

over two meetings.

The Nobel Laureate for that year for that prize

is determined using a majority vote by the end of the second meeting

and the decision is announced almost immediately.

It is possible, however, for no prizes to be awarded that year.

Except for the Peace Prize.

While the Norwegian Nobel Committee technically

only needs a majority vote

the members always try to achieve a unanimous decision.

Additionally, other institutions choose

a maximum of three laureates for the Nobel Prize.

The Peace Committee on the other hand have no such restrictions

and can and have awarded entire organizations.

The decision is made in the first week of October

a whole year after this process began.

The Nobel laureates for that year announced

at a press conference, but unlike other awards,

the nominees are not announced.

The list of nominees are only revealed 50 years after the nomination was made

In fact, the nominees are never informed that

they are even being considered for the Prize.

Remember how I said you can't nominate dead people?

Now is when things get a little tricky.

There have been instances when the nominees

were alive when they were nominated but died

before the announcement was made

therefore disqualifying them from the Nobel Race.

However, if the nominees die after the announcement was made

but before the ceremony, they still do get the Nobel Prize

Only, you know, they're dead.

Finally, on the 10th of December, the laureates are invited

to Stockholm for the Nobel Prize Ceremony

where the laureates get their gold medal, diploma and prize money from the ruling monarch

of Sweden.

EXCEPT FOR THE PEACE PRIZE!

This is the last time, I promise.

Since the Peace Prize is organized and conducted

completely by Norwegian organizations,

the Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded in Stockholm

but instead in Oslo by the ruling monarch of Norway,

at the exact same time as their Swedish counterparts.

All laureates are finally required to give a lecture within six

months of the ceremony, a requirement mostly fulfilled in

the week following the Nobel Ceremony.

In summary, institutions in Sweden (and Norway)

compile a list of nominees from handpicked experts

across the globe,

reduce the number of nominees to

a small number and write a report

which will be discussed till

a majority decides to choose the Nobel laureate

for that year, for that prize.

And in case you missed it, there's an asterisk at each and every step of the way, just cause.

And that, is how the Nobel Prize works.

Thank you so much for watching this video.

Explore With Us: Health & Wellness | Kevin - Duration: 0:59.

Kevin: This is my dear friend Matthijs Diederiks.

Matthijs is a film-maker, dad, futurist and bio-hacker.

After shooting a commercial for a food replacement company, Matthijs decided to see if he could

live off these shakes for a year.

Why Matthijs?

So, what happened in that year?

Matthijs: The shakes made me physically and mentally more focussed.

I started monitoring my sleep, combined with breathing exercises.

When I wake up at 6.30 I'm ready for my 25 minute meditation session.

Kevin: Dude!

This movie should be about the future of health tech.

Matthijs: Ah yeah — I add my DNA sequence...

I use an app which takes my genetic data, and assists me in my dietary choices.

Turns out I'm lactose intolerant.

Kevin: But, did you succeed in only drinking shakes for 1 year?

Matthijs: Just wait and see...
