Hey guys, this is Evan from EZ Origami! And in this video I'll be teaching you
how to divide a square sheet of paper into fifths. All you need to do is
prepare a sheet of paper with the same dimensions on both sides. And once you've
prepared your paper, then we're going to start by folding in half diagonally. So
take this bottom right corner and fold it up to the top left corner. Align
the corners and the edges, then make your crease. And then you can unfold. And now
we're going to align this bottom edge with the diagonal crease that we just
made. So we're going to start by pulling up the bottom edge. Then we want to
start at this bottom left corner and work our way up and over to the right
until the entire edge is aligned with that crease, just like this. Then you can
make your crease. And then you can unfold. And again we're going to align this
bottom edge with the crease that we just made. So we're just going to pull up the
bottom edge and again we want to start at the bottom left corner and work our
way over to the right until the entire edge is aligned with that crease. Once
everything is aligned, then you can make your crease. Then you can unfold. And now
I want you to notice this point here where the crease that you just made
intersects with this right edge. And what we want to do is make a horizontal
crease extending outwards from that point. So we're going to do that by
pulling up this bottom edge, and we just want to pull it up slightly until you
reach the point where this crease intersects with this right edge. Once
you've reached that point then you also want to make sure that the vertical
edges on the left and right sides of the model align as well. Then you can make
your crease all the way across. And now we're going to rotate the paper so that
the folded edge is now held on the left side. Then from here we want to fold over
the right edge and align it with that folded edge. So we're just going to bring
the left and right sides of the model together, and once both edges are
completely aligned, then you can make your crease. Then you can unfold. And now
we're going to fold over the right edge once again and align it with the
vertical crease that we just made. So we're just going to pull this right edge over
to the left, and once the entire edge is aligned with that vertical crease, then
you can make your crease. Then you can unfold these two flaps so that we're
back to the original square. Then from here we're going to align this left edge
with the right-most vertical crease that we just made. So we're going to do that
by pulling over the left side of the model,
and once it's aligned with that rightmost vertical crease, then you can
make your crease. Then you can unfold. And now you've divided your paper into
fifths. And if you want to divide a square into fifths without all these
unnecessary pre-creases, then that's pretty easy to do as well. All you need
to do is prepare another square of the exact same size. So from here we're going
to use this square as a folding tool. And we're going to do that by folding over
along this left-most vertical crease. So we're just going to fold over the left
side of the paper, just like this, along that first vertical crease. Then we're
going to take another square of the exact same size and we want to slide it
in between the two layers of the folding tool by pushing it over to the left as
far as it'll go. Then we want to take the right edge of our square and align it
with the vertical edge of the folding tool here. So we're just going to bring
both of those edges together, just like this. And once they're completely aligned,
then you can make your crease. Then you can slide your square outside of the
folding tool and we can put the folding tool aside. And then we're going to
unfold this so that we're back to the original square. And then we're going to
fold over this right edge and align it with the vertical crease. So we're just
going to pull this right edge over to the left, and once it's completely
aligned with that vertical crease, then you can make your crease. Then you can
unfold. And then we're going to fold over this left edge and align it with the
vertical crease that we just made. So we're just going to pull this left edge
over to the right, and once it's completely aligned with that right-most
vertical crease, then you can make your crease.
Then you can unfold. And again we're going to fold in this left edge and
align it with the vertical crease that we just made. So we're just going to pull
the left edge over to the right, and once it's completely aligned with that
left-most vertical crease, then you can make your crease.
Then you can unfold. And now you've divided your square into fifths without
any additional pre-creases. I hope you've enjoyed this video tutorial on how to
