My name is Father Noah Morey and I am a Parochial Vicar at All Saints Catholic Church

in Manassas, Virginia

In today's Gospel Jesus encounters a blind man

named Bartimaeus, who is so persistent in calling out for pity

"Have pity on me Son of David, have mercy on me!"

And Jesus calls him overcoming the voice

or the scorn of the crowd, Jesus calls him to Himself

and Bartimaeus does something extraordinary

He throws aside his cloak, in other words

he throws aside his security blanket and we know that was the thing that was

keeping him warm and so since he was a blind man he would not have any ability

to find that cloak without someone's help

He was that convinced that Jesus

had the power and the ability to cure him

Bartimaeus became vulnerable to the Lord

and the Lord revealed Himself, the Lord cured him

Jesus asked Bartimaeus a question, "What do you want me to do for you?"

and Bartimaeus responded with boldness, with eagerness, "Master, I want to see"

"Master, I want to see"

and Jesus cures him of his blindness so that the first thing

that Bartimaeus would have seen in this world is the face of Jesus Christ

Our Lord asks us the same question in our own lives, "What do you want Me to do for you?"

He wants us to ask, to be bold in our requests and to ask for things that are

good for us

and that we can have the boldness to respond with Bartimaeus

"Master, I want to see. I want to see You face to face"

Because we do see Jesus when we pray

we spend time with the Lord in our prayer

and we can have a real

encounter with the Living God

In our Second Reading from the Letter to the Hebrews

We hear how earthly priests are beset by weakness

And so the challenge for this week

on this Priesthood Sunday

is to pray for priests by name

Perhaps, the priest who baptized you

maybe look up the name of the priest who officiated at your baptism

or maybe the bishop who confirmed you

or simply the priests who minister at your parish here and now

and pray for them by name that they might become holy priests after the Sacred Heart of Jesus

the True and Eternal High Priest

SCP-2373 Behind You | Euclid | Humanoid / Biological scp - Duration: 4:15.

SCP-2373 Behind You - object class euclid

Item #: SCP-2373

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2373 is currently contained within a Class-A containment

chamber at Site-19, separated from Hallway 284 by an airlock.

The doors leading into the chamber are only to be opened consecutively upon entry.

No fewer than two non-D-Class personnel are to enter SCP-2373's containment chamber.

D-Class personnel are to enter the containment chamber alone.

Description: SCP-2373 resembles an emaciated, hirsute humanoid.

Its skin is covered in black, furry bristles, though, as its lower body appears to have

been severed at the abdomen, it is impossible to determine whether these bristles extended

beyond the torso.

SCP-2373's eyes remain constantly open.

If no human subject is present within SCP-2373's direct line of sight, it remains in a dormant

state on the floor of its containment chamber.

If a single human subject comes within SCP-2373's direct line of sight, SCP-2373 will begin

to animate, telekinetically repositioning itself directly behind the subject.

This initial movement is fast; subjects do not acknowledge SCP-2373's presence as it

enters its active state, as the speed of its movements upon animation surpass human visual

perception of motion.

SCP-2373 will remain suspended behind the subject's back, remaining limp and occasionally

shuddering.

SCP-2373 will follow the subject, altering the position of its forelimbs and swiftly

acting in accordance with the subject's movements, ensuring complete unawareness of its presence.

This effect continues until SCP-2373 is outwardly observed by a third party, attacked, or obstructed

by a solid, where it will relocate to an environment in which one or no human individuals are present.

If this is not possible, SCP-2373 will re-enter its dormant state, facing against the nearest

wall, away from all human individuals.

SCP-2373 casts no shadow, bears no reflection, and is incapable of emitting sound upon physical

contact with external surfaces beyond 4db.

SCP-2373's movements in its active state can only be observed electronically, through transparent

solids, or by non-human individuals.

Occasionally, while in its active state, SCP-2373 has been known to flinch, momentarily clutching

its amputated abdomen in pain.

The source of the amputation is unknown, but its cut is consistent with that inflicted

by a rotary blade or bandsaw.

Centred about the amputation on the dermis is a faint, incorporeal transparency, similar

to that exhibited by previously-contained spectral, invisible and/or intangible entities.

Current hypotheses suggest that SCP-2373 is/was a Type 4G1 Phantasmic Entity, which somehow

underwent partial re-embodiment, impeding its ability to control its outward form.

8 Things About St. Lucia You Should Know! | Billboard - Duration: 3:16.

- Wishful.

The first place that we ever played together was

Union Hall. - In Brooklyn.

I was very nervous, I was really nervous.

I felt like, oh, I'm going to mess this up

and let everyone down.

That was my fear.

- But there was a lot of "important" people there,

so it felt like there was a lot of pressure.

And it was like ahh!

- Why should people listen to our music, Jean?

- I think people should listen to our music

because it has a positive message,

And I think there is a lot of music in the world these days

that's very, either ironic,

or sort of, like, depressing or sad.

And I have nothing against that.

I love a lot of that music!

But I feel like where we fit in

and where we're unique is that

what we do is positive,

but it's also not preaching to you

or hitting you over the head with a message.

I think it makes you feel positive.

- The first song to listen to on our album,

I would say Bigger.

Which is going to be the first song

on the album! - Which is the first track

on the album!

- So that's okay, we planned it that way!

- It has this breeziness, this happiness to it.

And I think it it's an easy entryway into the record.

- You shouldn't give it all away,

just let them listen!

Understanding Model Predictive Control, Part 7: Adaptive MPC Design with Simulink and MPC Toolbox - Duration: 8:21.

In this video, we'll discuss implementation tips for running MPC faster.

We'll continue using the pancake metaphor from the previous video. Feeding people pancakes is a complex process.

You need to prepare the mix, cook the pancakes, and serve them fast before customers run out of patience.

Another challenge is that you have limited space in your restaurant to store all these ingredients.

Similarly, MPC is computationally complex. One of the reasons for this is that model predictive control solves an

online optimization problem at each time step. An MPC problem is formulated as a QP problem that tries to

minimize a quadratic cost function. MPC computations get more complex with the increasing number of states, constraints,

the length of the control, and prediction horizons. If an MPC controller is running on a big server for an application

with slow dynamics such as in the process industry, then the computational complexity shouldn't be a big concern.

However, let's say that you want to deploy your MPC algorithm to the ECU of an autonomous vehicle.

Then the optimization problem needs to be solved within a small sampling interval in the order of milliseconds.

Another challenge is that your embedded hardware has limited memory.

The matrices that need to be stored for MPC computations grow rapidly with increasing number of optimization variables,

but you need to make sure that you don't run out of memory.

What are some ways to increase throughput and reduce memory usage?

For the pancakes example, if there are ingredients that don't contribute much to the taste but take a lot of time to prepare,

you can remove them from your recipe. This will reduce the prepping and serving time and will make it easier to store

all the ingredients in a limited space. Similarly, to reduce the complexity and the computation time of MPC,

you can try to apply model order reduction techniques that are used to discard the states that don't contribute to the dynamics of the

system. This will also help reduce the memory footprint of the controller. Other things you can try to deal with throughput and memory

are to use a shorter control and prediction horizon, reduce the number of constraints, and use lower-precision operations

and data representation for implementing MPC. You can try these quick tips to implement MPC for applications with a small sample time.

But if you need to control systems with an even smaller sample time, then you can try using explicit MPC.

The pancake analogy for explicit MPC would be as follows. Instead of mixing the ingredients each time you cook a pancake,

you can use a premade pancake mix that will allow you to cook faster. Instead of solving the optimization problem online

for the current state, explicit MPC solves it offline for all the states within a given range.

For each x value within a given range, explicit MPC precomputes the optimal solution.

It turns out that this solution consists of linear functions that are piecewise affine and continuous in x.

Any constraint cuts the solution space into regions, and each region maps into a unique optimal solution.

Expanding this idea to a two-state system would look like this.

After computing the optimal solution offline, all MPC does online is to find the region that the current state lies in and evaluate

the linear function to create the current control action. Reducing the iterative optimization process to linear function evaluation

greatly simplifies the run-time computations. So, explicit MPC can be deployed for applications with a very small sample time.

Having pre-made mix is great, but if you have a wide variety of flavors, it takes time to find the one you're looking for.

And for each different flavored mix, you'll need additional space in your limited storage.

Similarly, if there are many regions, it may be time consuming to search for the region where the current state lies in.

Also, storing all these regions requires a large memory footprint.

There are techniques to reduce the number of regions by merging them together.

However, in that case the solution is no longer optimal.

Another method for running MPC faster is to use the suboptimal solution.

Back to the pancake analogy: the serving time can change greatly based on how fancy the plate is decorated.

Customers who don't want to wait long can pick the basic pancake option from the menu.

Others who are more patient and can wait longer can go with the fancier options.

In an MPC problem, the number of iterations to find the optimal solution is totally unpredictable and can change dramatically

from one time step to another. In the worst case, the computation time may exceed the controller sample time.

However, you want to make sure that a solution is found within the sample time and that there's even some extra time left for other tasks that

need to be executed on the hardware. To deal with this, you can determine a maximum value for the number of optimization iterations.

This example demonstrates that it would take 10 iterations to find the optimal solution.

However, since the maximum number of iterations is set to 5, when it's reached, the controller stops the optimization and uses

the suboptimal solution from that iteration. Note that this is a suboptimal solution, but it still satisfies all the constraints of the

optimization problem. To determine the maximum number of iterations, you can test your algorithm on your hardware and

identify the execution time used by each iteration. Assuming that each iteration takes a similar execution time, you can choose

the maximum number of iterations such that the total execution time does not exceed the controller sample time.

In summary, to run MPC faster, you can first try these quick tips and see if they work well for your system.

For fast applications with a very small sample time, you can use explicit MPC, which reduces the run-time computations greatly

by precomputing the optimal solution offline. Another option to increase throughput and also guarantee the worst-case execution time for

your MPC controller is to use suboptimal solution. In the next video, we'll use an autonomous

vehicle steering system example in Simulink to demonstrate how you can design an MPC controller using the MPC Designer app.

Find Inner Peace | 5 Ways - Duration: 9:17.

hey guys my name is Kristia and welcome to my channel so today I'd like

to share with you five ways on how to find inner peace in the midst of chaos

stick around her inner peace so lately I have been thrown off balance in life and

it's because of my house situation our house was going through a renovation and

I've actually written a blog post about it which I will link down below if

you're interested in watching just go to the link meeting but anyway long story

short my house was going through a renovation and yeah we had to evacuate

the rooms and everything was a mess I'll try to post a picture or a clip of

how our house looks so you could get what I meant but anyway everything is in

disarray everything was a mess and I'm the type of person who could not survive

in see decluttered space so it may be

irritable and I will lash all of my partner from time to time I imported him

yeah I will lash out at him that would feel bad because he didn't do anything

eventually I learned the lessons inherent from the situation so today I'd

like to share with you what I've learned I've learned five ways on how to find

inner peace in the maze of chaos number one you have the power to choose what

you think what you see outside of you is a reflection of your inner world it's

always thoughts first and then perception think of a movie projector

inside your mind where your thoughts being the film you can choose what movie

you would like to see but obviously picking the film that you'd like to put

in a projector if you choose to see a happy movie then obviously you're going

to put a happy film inside your projector if you want to see drama in a

reality then you obviously have to put a drama genre of film until your projector

and that's why you get in my house from renovation situation I had opted to see

drama so that's what I got as it began to affect my relationship with Wilson my

life partner I had to stop and check in with myself I had to deliberately choose

what I wanted to see which is to be happy which is the field piece so it

chose to be a loving partner instead of an angry partner I eventually found a

way to do this when I was writing on my journal I realized to solve my daily

routine issues I could just sleep earlier and wake up earlier before the

workers start working on our house so that I would have enough time to do my

daily routine I also realized that I could do it was just a little bit of

decluttering so that I could have easy access to

a little like workspace for myself and do my work so yeah it's all about

perspective number two I set the situation what brings us to stress is

when something unwanted happens and we're having a hard time accepting it we

are actually resisting the present moment when we're not accepting on what

is happening right now it is not really the situation that is bringing us

unhappiness it's actually our thoughts about it

that brings us unhappiness as I believe that what is happening must not be

happening I have a to-do list for my work and I actually fell behind because

you know of the house situation and I felt frustrated because I could not meet

my goals but I must accept where I am right now in order for me to find peace

I have to make it okay for me to have fallen behind and you know it's actually

okay because I can always pick myself back up and this Brenda major is not

going to last forever okay so um when it's done I could always just go back to

my normal way of doing things and it's just like the beautiful miracle of

watching a baby learn how to walk and when he or she falls down no worries

just comes back up again after three meditate just like Jay Cole said

meditate don't medicate check out the Jayco meditation is not only for stress

relief it could also bring you a heightened

sense of inner peace what do you focus on your breathing or

on any sound like that of a an air conditioner for example for at least

maybe like five minutes your mind will be soothed you will have more clarity

and whatever questions you may have might be answered during the meditation

or after the meditation or maybe later on

as you go on about your day and this happens because you're enjoying the

present moment meditation also allows you to access like a higher power

you know God or you know whatever your higher power is thus bringing you a

feeling that everything is okay you are actually okay and that you are always

guided it's number four everything is as it should be find the silver lining for

me in a situation I found a lot of silver linings for example I couldn't

cook bread because the kitchen was blocked I could not have access to my

utensils and all that so I saw this as an opportunity to get closer to Wilson

my life partner because it provided us the opportunity to go out to dinner

together a lot more than usual and I get to try

different foods like in my neighborhood so I thought that was fun another silver

lining for me was that even though I could not work out at home I could go

out for a walk for a daily nature walk because I can over go home so that was

my chance to actually go out and see nature breathe in fresh air and another

silver lining was because he could not properly concentrate and do my work at

home I get to enjoy my time at a cafe and work there and appreciate the coffee

you may or may not believe it but a higher power God or whatever

whatever you choose to believe in it's there for you there's something out

there that's always guiding you and it's there for you and again it always boils

down to your thoughts if you choose to believe in a chaotic world then chaos is

what you get if you seek peace then he will see peace if it choose to believe

even just a little bit that everything is working out for your highest good

then fulfil number five find the lessons and gifts inherent in the situation as

for me what happened inspired me to share these lessons with you guys and I

really hope that it helps you I realized in one of my journal writings that I had

actually intended for a beautiful home and I think this is the way my prayers

have been answered our house is under renovation because I

had a wish for a beautiful home and as for the natural order of life

destruction must come first before creation our house must be in chaotic

disarray before it must be rebirthed into a beautiful home I realized that

that was what was actually happening what happened was actually a gift and I

just needed to be more patient to see the gift while I was happening I had to

find a way to at least feel peace I guess that's what I wanted to see and

that's what I wanted to feel I believe that the situation was teaching me how

to become a more loving person a kinder person a more patient human being and

how to be more compassionate to myself and towards others I have learned how to

forgive myself for being less spiritual for being angry

towards my partner for lashing out to him I learned how to make it okay for

falling behind my work in this situation I found the gift of becoming closer to

my self and the gift of compassion I know that the situation I shared with

you was not such a big of a problem to other people but it was the perfect

situation for me to learn this lessons of peace but I can assure you that these

lessons will help you no matter what level of stress or chaos you're going

through trust me you're listening someone who had anxiety problems I had a

lot of anxiety problems and I actually experienced panic attacks before but it

was a time when I had chosen not to see the lessons because I was running away

from the lessons so there you go those are my

and I hope they helped you if they did or if you've enjoyed this video give me

a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for more videos thank you for watching

take care and peace
