Nerd City Exposed the Lies of Jake Paul in the Shane Dawson Series - Duration: 12:36.

sometimes my optimism of people really comes back to bite me in the what is up

everybody this is Chris from the rewired soul when we talk about the problem but

focus on the solution and if you're new to my channel my channel is all about

mental health so I try to pull things from the YouTube community and try to

teach you how to improve your mental and emotional well-being

so the end of that kind of stuff make sure you subscribe and wing that

notification bell so I just got a DM and it was like yo did you see the new nerd

city video I'm like yo I didn't even know he had a new video I turned it on

and I lost my mind because I was in the finale of the series

Shane asked Jake to respond to the criticisms in our last video there's a

video right now that a lot Jake said that concerns about advertising to

children are ridiculous that his kids to be happy and he does not take advantage

of children you people which makes sense but if you are all are watching this

thank you so much I love what you're all doing but anyways let's talk a little

bit about the lives of Jay Paul the new nerd city video there's a few things

that I want to touch on with this so one of the things is is like you know some

of you might be like oh crap this is some more drama no this is something

that you Tony we got to be better judges of character so why like in one of my

previous videos I can't it's for one that they use a clip from

but I mentioned like hey maybe maybe he actually thinks he's giving value and

all these other fingers right but no like I I appreciate you know people like

nerd city and news organizations that are out there put out all the

information like I'm not into like drama culture and expose culture and your

canceled culture culture but like as consumers or even as people we really

need to like know who were hanging out with who are putting our faith in is

this a good person is this somebody I want in my life right so we need to look

at these things and I I'm not gonna kick it with Jay Paul anytime soon but like

when people like nerd City make a video like this it helps me see who they

really are for example you know it helps you like know like what companies do you

want to back and things like do you want to put money in their pocket I'm not

gonna lie I'm not gonna lie like Christina I had talked and it's it's

really changed the way I do things like there's certain TV shows that I don't

watch anymore because of what one of the main characters did in their real life

we're talking about like you know physical assault and abuse and all sorts

of things I'm just like whoa I don't want to support this this is just me

like you don't got to do that but like for me I appreciate knowing about these

people you know because we're part of the problem but we're definitely part of

the problem with Jay Paul like all of us like my mom and I talked about it like

we reinforce that and especially especially as parents when we're

allowing our kids to watch this who this guy who is not a good example like we're

the problem like we create people like Jake Paul we create people like Logan

Paul like I'm all about you know like you know obviously those laws it gets

like advertising to kids and all that by the way inner-city they did a great a

great little plug for Squarespace amazing amazing transition block

beautiful executed perfectly number three if you want to make an ad make it

clear it's add so that the dumb kids watching can

tell the difference you need an example you want an example of what that looks

like we're gonna give you a 1 we're gonna tell you about Squarespace now we

also need to take responsibility as a parent my kid is going to like steal my

bank card and go buy a bunch of Jake Palmer's

we need to know what they're watching how they're being advertised to and all

that but let's start talking about line okay like a lot of you don't know me a

lot of you have met a very good version of Chris you've met a version of Chris

that you might want to hang out with that you might want to subscribe to that

you might even want to ring the notification bell on right but you

should not be a great person I used to lie my face off right and again like I

made a video about hashtag sorry Shane I think Shane knew all this stuff right

like Shane I don't think he was to invest in this I think he knew Nikki

knew Jake and all of them were just full of crap right but anyways like I said we

have to look at this and say like are we lying are we gonna get caught in lies

because man I used to lie about everything everything I was a type of

guy where you would say hey how long until you're gonna be here I'm like oh

I'm only five minutes away I'm around the corner but I hadn't even left my

house yet I would lie about the dumbest things and if any of you struggle with

anxiety let me tell you let me tell you okay you're lying is causing a lot of

your anxiety right whenever I would like is somebody I had to learn how to cover

it up and did I say something that contradicted it especially now that I'm

growing as a youtuber like the last thing I want is for nerd city to expose

me about some stuff you know what I'm saying

so like I learned that I caused a lot of my issues with my lives all right it

causes my anxiety it causes people not to trust me it causes people not to like

me either so now I tell the truth I tell the truth so much it would blow your

mind and if you new to my channel just now watching this I don't have your

trust yet but eventually I will oh I remember when me and Tristan first

started dating screwed me over so now I tell the truth as often as possible

right and she's like yeah sure you know what baby girl we've been together for

like two years call me out call me out on some lies cuz

you can't do it but like it gives me this freedom right like if you're

somebody who lies about this stuff like like just start working on it so working

on it a little little increments like I had this freedom like Tristan can pick

up my cell phone any time go through it ask me about things all of that like if

I even feel myself about to lie like I sit down I'm like woah why am I going to

lie about this why am I going to tell these laws but like it's really

important that we start looking at this stuff because we often think the whole

world so I literally just made a video about how you have to like walk the walk

you can't just talk the talk and by the way let's talk about manipulation real

quick let's start with a big lie I don't think a kid would actually believe that

and be like wow not cool if I don't have this and like hey mom like I need this

to be cool will you buy this for me well Jake if you didn't believe that then why

did you speak at a conference just a few months ago to brag about having that

power over your fans what Jay Paul did to Shane Dawson was textbook

manipulation here's why you act offended I can't believe I cannot believe you

would even ask me if I'm taking advantage of children I cannot believe

that I am out of here right like you might be

someone who does that or you mother been around someone who

used to do that right like I mean usually the people who get the most

offended and this is just a broad statement but you got to be curious a

lot of people who who get that upset about being accused you've got a wonder

you've got a wonder are they really guilty why did you cheat Maya is

freaking out we have to question you have to wonder and say okay why are they

freaking out so much again I don't think that Shane's responsibility but it's

like us as consumers like all of you are sitting here watching my YouTube video

right you're watching my YouTube and I value you know my integrity right I want

you to see my my actions they align with my words I don't just say these things I

do these things wait one thing that kind of bugs me is

how these influencers hate the word influencer right except for Jake Paul he

said it like a thousand times but they do influence people they influence

people a lot actually on a podcast over on it's called Breaking Bad

I'll actually link it down in the description it was like two hours but

like something that we were talking about is like I think a lot of people

back certain creators because it justifies their poor behavior right so

for example somebody backs what Jay Paul's doing it justifies their own bad

behaviors in their lives but like to think that Jake is any any any semblance

of like altruism is absolutely bonkers okay

the last thing I'll talk about what this video is the devil the devil that's my

boy other people do this because I can't just hop on here and talk smack but if

if children are your target audience you need to do certain things right like one

is say that isn't had but the other one is

everybody was trying to Erica is this Savior like Erica is extremely extremely

complicit and everything that's happening right like with Jake filming

her and like they're being like you know partial nudity like he knows that kids

are watching his hell he's bringing children into his channel you know what

I mean so to think again to think that Erica is some kind of saint is bonkers

like we all really need to be better judges of character we need to sit back

and look at this and say okay Mike wait am i neglecting certain pieces of this

toy I talked about that in my first nerd city video about Jay Paul like we are

forgetting things I think no city just did an excellent job showing all the

contradictions between what he said to shame and what he's actually doing I

mean and they pointed out that Jay Paul tells us one thing but he tells like big

business magazines another thing right he talks about how it's all about making

the money making the money making the money even in their in his courses where

he's trying to teach people how to become an influencer he's trying to

teach people how to do the same things he does in the shady tactics thing he

does right so anyways videos Jay Paul is still kind

of a d-bag and I'm kind of glad that they pointed out like you can't blame

your parents for all this stuff like you have free will start making better

decisions and it kind of breaks my heart that what everybody feared is probably

happening a that some of us are you know like you know sympathizing with Jay Paul

but B his channel is growing and he's getting more exposure but people like

nerd city are out there to help us make better decisions about who we're gonna

watch and who we're gonna subscribe to you know what I mean anyways let me know

in the comments below are you somebody who who causes your own anxiety because

of your lies if so how are you gonna work on it let me know down in the

comments below alright anyways again thank you so much moon city for hooking

me up and putting me in your video you're all beautiful but if you like

this video please give it a thumbs up if you're new make sure you subscribe and

ring that notification bill cuz I'll make a

a ton of videos and a huge thank you to everybody supporting the channel over on

patreon you are all amazing and if you would like to help support me spread a

message of hope when it comes to mental health you can click the top on that

little picture icon right there alright thanks so much for watching I'll see you

Med Spa Accelerator Episode 1 | Med Spa Marketing Strategies | Cassie Craig & Luis Trevino - Duration: 43:02.

Luis Trevino | Cassie Craig | Med Spa & CoolSculpting Marketing & Growth Experts | Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Texas

all right welcome everyone to the Mets ball accelerator podcast on waist video

and I'm joined here with our co-host today Cassie Craig from Cass clinical

consulting and Cass clinical mets ball and so welcome welcome to the first

episode right we're excited to bring this to you all and kind of walk you

through the process of what is to come what is it that we want to do with the

Mets ball accelerator podcast and and that I guess that whole process right

work with that I think that there's a lot to to be learned and I think

honestly I learned this from experience and I'm often able to learn through

other people's experiences I have the you know the wonderful position of going

into other people's businesses and helping them and that helps me help my

business because I see things that people are doing and sometimes it's

really great ideas and sometimes I'm like you know what I really want to

avoid that I feel like some of my growth and some of my getting to where I am is

because I get eyes on other people's businesses and most people don't get

that so it's kind of like this idea is like let's give back you know let's let

people let people in on my business but also let's let's start sharing people's

stories let's hear you know what's awesome for people and what they're

experiencing with the rise in CoolSculpting with everybody and their

neighbor doing it let's hear from people what's the experience yeah and so Cass

tonight we'll just to kind of give everybody like all our listeners today a

little bit of background and a bit of an introduction so Cassie and I wanted to

create this podcast as she was saying you know focus in on building the

community and learning from each other right I think there is a lot of

opportunity right now in the medical small business right it's a

billion-dollar industry there is a lot to learn and it's still a relatively new

industry what it's been around for a relatively what like 15 20 years baby

right there's there's I think last time that I checked this was a few years ago

but there was only like about a thousand people I want to say like three to five

thousand practices across the United States and you know it's still a growing

industry a lot to to learn and I think you know

the goal of podcast is to essentially build a community and you know bring

guests bring speakers on that have a unique perspective that have done well

or that have just started and kind of been just giving their perspective as

far as like what works what hasn't worked what are the hacks the business

tips the best practices that we're implementing today 2018 coming 2019 to

really help them gain the advantage right or you know really help Co propel

them to the next level in their business whether that's if they're just starting

hitting six and seven figures or or if they're already seven figures kind of

getting to the point where they want to build a legacy right like they want to

have a business where I guess I'd say like that's like one of the biggest

motivators why I've seen a lot of like medical spas open up like they want to

free up their time because they want to have like owners have other people that

are working with them or they want to build a legacy where they can ultimately

build a business and sell it and retire like I don't know what has been your

experience with yeah I mean I meet people all the time who have it's funny

because I meet people who have the dream of either you know building something

that sell Franz products like CoolSculpting offer the opportunity that

the physician not have to do all the work so I see a lot of people going

after that that kind of lifestyle and I also see a lot of physicians especially

who want to be in the business they want to do one job and they want that

business to be able to run everybody you know I meet a lot of people who are

already in the 7-figure zone it doesn't mean that their life's easier and I

think that something I was talking about to a client yesterday it's like I always

fill in the blank like when I get here when I get this done or when I get this

much money then everything's going to be easier and I'll be able to breathe I

think that mindset is the wrong mindset um I think that switching that

perspective is really the answer to being able to breathe because you know

people I continually meet people who are over two million dollars annually you

still have those same issues on a larger scale so I I'm excited to hear from

people and hear you know I think it's a choice right I

think that we have a choice to sit back and breathe in life and we have that

choice at any time to kind of relax and like the joys and the journey kind of

thing I'm excited to hear from other people to find out if they're if they're

finding that joy or if the rising competition in this industry is actually

the opposite of what they were looking for

I mean I think a lot of people got in in the first ten years and just you know

got a bigger piece of the pie so things were easier and then when they're met

with like real business real competition people cutting prices and moving in next

door and all of these things there's fast moving from you know them to

another location and trying to call their clique all this all this stuff I

wonder if if they could take it back a few but at this point you know ya know

and I think too that brings me back to one of the videos that I did about two

weeks ago when I was talking about you know your business is a means to an end

right and so at the end of the day you know you have to go in thinking why

don't you build this business like you know yes a lot of people wanted to be

there doesn't want to be independent they wanted freedom but then they kind

of realize that wow like I'm actually working even more hours and it's granted

you know what you're doing entrepreneurship like you're gonna be

working more at the end of the day it's all worth it because you're working for

yourself you're making more money you're building something that you can pass on

to your family or your children you know etc right and so that I think that's

kind of like the dream that everybody has but but a lot of people kind of lose

track of that so they and they don't start with the end in mind and so one is

like enjoying the journey because it's gonna be a long journey it's a difficult

journey and you have to relate you're like you really have to be in it for the

long run because if you're not then it's just like well you know then what are

you really doing right but at the end it's like you know what is the mean like

what is you know that this is the means to the end so then what do you want to

accomplish right build your lifestyle around that you know if you know that

you only want to work there a few hours or if you want to actually be on

vacations and have somebody there or if you're a doctor you want the performing

treatments that you love while other people are generating money in the back

end like you know doing these other things then that's

great but start with that in mind and builds a plan to help you get there I

work with people all the time minutes and this is such a valid I love that

we're starting with this because I think that this should be the start of

everything it's like if I if I ask my clients I if I ask ten people just

random people what is your what are your goals I hear things like well I want to

make a lot of money okay specifically like what is it that you want not only

do people not know where they're going they typically don't have a really good

idea of where they are right now and so you know like how are you going to get

to this this place I think sometimes at least for myself feelings is more of the

end point like I want to feel free and peace and be happy and those are two day

to work toward so I need to figure out from that place reverse engineer this

like what is gonna make that is it gonna be 50 million dollars in the bank

okay then how do I get 50 million dollars in the bank and then just

reverse engineer all the way back to today and what are the action items I

can complete today to get there it's incredible how many people are on these

huge business ventures that have no idea what they want and to top that off are

stepping so if they do I hear people say a lot there okay their goal is to be on

the beach in you know in Mexico they want to go and and put their toes in the

sand and then every day they add more work to the plate and they're walking in

a different direction and it's like how are you gonna get there if you continue

to have more services or add longer hours it's it's like I I do meditation

like a bit like a visionary kind of work for myself and I picture myself where I

want to be and then I kind of check it's almost like a like a daily assessment

like are the are the actions that I'm taking today in line with that future

cells and if they why am I doing this yeah exactly and and

so I mean if you were to have to categorize it in a few different points

I would say like for me I always think okay what are my goals on a financial

standpoint what are my goals on an operational standpoint and then I kind

of leave I gotta stay there but you obviously that you're working within if

you're actually working within the medical sponge that you have an actual

practice like what would you say what are the categories that you're looking

at to see okay well I I know what I want 50 million dollars in the bank I know

that I want to operationalize I know that I want to have like I only want to

be my practice four to six hours a day or less and so that means that on our

operational standpoint I need to have estheticians a practice manager you know

financial adviser whatever to in place so that I know I can do that and then

what else like what else would you say is like another category that you look I

think in business I always look at there's three arms to me there is in

sales and marketing piece there is the operations and administration piece and

then and then there's your product and so I'm always you know like like conjure

up the the the marginal gains of adding one percent value or adding one percent

improvement to each of those areas every quarter after some time you know and so

that's how I start my goal setting is looking at those three areas making a

goal for improvement in each area not a huge goal something that is totally

doable and then just relying on time to let those things add up now to take it

in life when I work with people I'd like to work at business stuff but I also am

a huge proponent of balance in life because if I'm working ninety percent of

my energy is going into my business then that means the other three areas of my

life which I kind of categorized my life into my social life my wellness my

health my family life and then my professional life and so whether you

might have different categories but those are typically around the four that

people have so making sure that goals are set in

those as well all of those as yes and I think I think that's a really good point

because I think a lot of people don't even have those defined like you don't I

mean like they don't have those four or five categories you know right so I

think a really great places to start there and so just to kind of you know

kind of do like a pivot here or a transition into you know this is a

really great talking point and talk about what what the goal of the podcast

is you know I mean essentially or what is to be expected in the podcast on the

podcast not only do we want to have people that are coming in with unique

experiences but what exactly were you talking about well one of the things for

sure you want to talk about like how to set goals and how to achieve them right

what are the tactics what are the strategies that we're implementing today

so you can get that stuff done a big one that I know I really want to touch on

that I'm excited about and I know you're here you're gonna have a lot to say it

it is mindset really having the right mindset in building a business and you

know what hey like entrepreneurship is hard you know to me like owning your

practice even just any type of business in general it's hard it can get it gets

lonely right you know and you don't really know who to talk to it sometimes

it's really hard to talk to your staff right or your spouse about it so it's

like building that community where we can all kind of help each other and

you'd really need to work on having a great mindset like if you want to

Succeed in Business I know you're huge on Tony Robbins I'm correct in saying

that right I use it as an example a lot because people are familiar Tony Robbins

so that kind of that kind of work in life is important whether it was Tony

Robbins or it might be something spiritual or it might be but but that

kind of working on the internal because everything around you my husband

actually we went to dinner last night unless then texted me midday and said

hey can you go to dinner tonight and I said yes and I'm just assuming they were

going to a business that are when in fact he wanted a date and so we had a

date last night we really do that with kids and we have all these businesses

and so my life is crazy but I personally don't find life difficult and I rarely

find MyPlate myself in a place where I'm like oh my

this is so difficult so that's a mindset thing but last night I forget how it

came about but he said to me that he said one of the things that I love about

you is that you are always looking at the solutions and you're never looking

at the problem and so that's you know maybe it's ingrained I've trained myself

a long time I've done exercises a long time when I heard mindset work when I

got my life coaching certification I'm you know I started out as a personal

trainer and I just couldn't get people to get results and then I started

building staff and I just couldn't get the stuff and so it was always like like

what what's missing and when I had it mindset training and when I added

mindset work to the mix the the results you know grew tenfold I mean it was

incredible in a weight loss I did weight loss for a long time

and I would see on average five to seven percent of people stay longer than three

months it was an impulsive decision people were coming in and so it was it

was exercise right so after three months it's like okay I can't force myself to

do this anymore and so 95% of people or so we're falling off or not coming in

regularly after that point when I had a mindset work to the beginning I didn't

even we didn't even pick up any weights for 30 days we did mindset and walk came

together while we did mindset up activities I saw it jump to 30 percent

staying longer than three months so if that can do and that's with others like

what you can achieve in yourself if you apply yourself because we're we're all

overachievers we're the Rassilon of how people are going to work and how

committed and determined people are for professional stuff so if I can get 25

percent of out of weight loss people who I you know I didn't even know then about

what you can get from yourself if you focus on mindset stuff and I mean I give

people exercises all the time and I work with people and they you know it's the

easy thing to push off because you don't see any

it gains from it but that's not true it is 100% like I recently started doing a

look like focusing more on mindset and kind of working more on myself and just

like my thought process and kind of limiting believes and stuff like that

and then I don't I mean I know a lot of people reference to Tony Robbins and I

know one of the things that he says that I agree with is it 80% is mindset and

20% I think he says like stress technologies yes probably like for

success and stuff like that it's not like and and it's so crazy to really

think like that because like you said like it's something that we just brushed

aside more often than not because it's not something that we can see immediate

results from but I swear like I've been doing it for the past like three weeks I

want to say and I can already catch myself like and it's is the whole thing

about catching like those limiting beliefs or the subconscious mind where

like I'll say like I catch those things and I'm able to fix them you know I mean

like I'm able to fix the way that I'm thinking my limiting beliefs or you know

things that are holding me back to do things to accomplish my goals basically

so I'm doing this day every morning where I'm just like you know I kind of

look at my life what the goals I want you know the goals that I want to

accomplish look at you know and then kind of spend

the time just being grateful like really just being grateful for what I have and

then looking forward towards a goal seeing myself accomplish them you know

different things like that and it sounds like I've never been the type of person

it's because it's not to a certain extent get kind of woo you know alright

great yeah but it's it's so crazy when like you know again going back to

setting goals reverse engineering that but having been able to really set your

mind and have that positive outlook to really help you accomplish you know

whatever it is that your goals are right and a lot of it a lot of it goes back to

mindset so mindset is huge I think we're going to be talking a lot about it as we

keep on you know going through the podcast we're going to talk about about

branding positioning how to set yourself apart how to be different how to get

recognized in the market place a huge one that I know both you and I are a

passion about is sales and consulting so I know that's like pretty much what you

do signed over I mean we're going to be talking a lot

about that and if you want to elaborate on that a little bit yeah yeah I mean

I'm excited to hear feedback after her show you know because I think we'll have

people weigh in on what they want to hear more than and really know I think

the people listening our listeners will guide this more than anything else but I

you know and that's what I spend my day doing and I never have a clear map like

if I meet if I were to meet you for the first time and I was gonna help you with

your business and your life I don't have an agenda all I do is listen and so

that's kind of how I how I've always run things and how even me down to the

consultations that we're doing in the Med Spa if we listen then the answer is

present and if we listen long enough and hard enough then a very clear math forms

like people just can't see it you know and so I love feedback like I can't wait

for the feedback I'm if if there's no feedback and I'll go off on mindset for

days there's a lot of things that I know people are interested in I'm yeah I know

for sure cells big one marketing tech not like the latest technology that is

available for best again best practices hacks on how things can be better what

is going on in the industry maybe the latest techniques or technologies that

are coming in to market different things like that but I think definitely what is

going to drive this is going to be our audience feedback so if you guys have

feedback if you have questions if you have something that you want us to

answer or talk about please please do not hesitate to comment on this video

send us an email you know just take us I'll go to our Facebook group by the way

it's a mess ball accelerator just google it and you'll find our group and you can

just request to join it's a free open group and that's where our community is

but yeah by all means you know let us know what you all want us to talk about

and feel free to use that platform as a way to collaborate with other providers

who we were talking before we got started about you know if the rising

tide rises all the boats right and so we kind of want that we want that theme in

this we want everybody to be worth together to do more in the industry

because honestly if we build awareness in because there's a like you said this

is only been around for less than a couple decades and so medical esthetics

is not something that households like like Monsanto moms are thinking that

they can have a piece of and what in fact they can and so we have a whole

market of people who have not even been introduced yet so I think there's plenty

out there for everybody but to use this platform to collaborate use this

platform to ask questions because there's gonna be providers from all over

the nation in here and so it's a great way to if you have a win or a question

or a challenge or a frustration to air it out there and get people's feedback

that are you know feel like like you were saying sometimes the metal industry

or being a business owner gets lonely because you can't talk to your staff

about what's going on because you got to keep like a hierarchy there and you

don't have any other metaphors that you can lean on because they are all

considered competitors the ones that you know nearby so use this platform

definitely I hope to see people interacting in there yeah I want to see

a ton of engagement so feel free do not hesitate to post any of questions

challenges or wins it like wins is huge like you know celebrating the wins I

think I think that's a big thing like like I was saying before like

entrepreneurship it's a lonely road it can get a little like you know hectic

and stuff like that and every now and then you just need to celebrate the

small stuff you know and you need to have like a try somebody that you can

share that with and just again until I kind of go back to building getting you

know just being more motivated feeling more encouraged and we all kind of need

it like really help each other out feed off of each other I think so that is

really what we want to accomplish with the community so if you want to join the

community look us up on Facebook at Mets boss elevator and you'll find us there

and send us a request and we'll get you at it right away

we're also uh we got a lineup of featured guests coming yeah so if you

have something that you'd like to talk about

just raise your hand on that one too and we'll make sure that we can bring you on

at least for a part of a show yeah and so we want to keep these shows we might

have gone already like a little bit over but we want to keep them anywhere from

20 to 40 minutes we want to be very respectful of your time so anybody wants

to come on board enough do not be do not worry that you know you don't have

enough time or whatever I mean we'll keep those shows about 20 minutes

something along those lines and we'll get you guys on or get your new

perspective to really broadcast the world really so to kind of close off a

little bit I wanted to kind of talk a little bit more about your background

caste I mean you have a very interesting background you came from the fitness

industry and then you decided to open up a Med Spa so I really loved for our

audience to hear a little bit more about kind of your story what got you to

fitness industry and then look brought you to open up a medical esthetics

practice sure um so when I was about 21 years I was 21 years old I lost a lot of

weight and that kind of sparked this what I can see in hindsight as the kind

of a psychic shift something in my mind shifted I thought that it was all just

weight loss you know like I finally got it right so I wanted to start teaching

everybody and honestly as assignment like I was tired of going to cost the

niche and so I lost what I was I was two years in on my other bachelor's and I

went open my own business and it went over like crazy like my own story my

excitement and passion for helping people lose weight just that's all I

needed and I was in a small business by the way it was called the new you

woman's weight loss and it was you take style ladies health club I did a lot of

retail a lot of meal replacements and I did some clothing like a clothing line

for a little while that was really cool like sports clothing with it was

bedazzled and sparkly and um but he took off and it was nobody was owner operated

and so I found my limitation when I wanted to go back to school a couple

years later and finish my degree my limitation was that I was working 12 14

hour days and I was the only person I can rely on so that's when I started

training staff and finding the challenges with training staff and so

then I had staff but when I would lose one and have another then it was hard to

train that person so I realized that I needed to systemize so the the life

business lessons were learned really by running into walls and trying

honestly the wrong way first I was my husband points out you know that I find

the solution instead of seeing the problem like okay now we need to do this

and I just did that for 15 years in 2015 I sold my last health club now

at this point I had actually opened I had gotten into opening health clubs and

selling the health clubs so first I was great at membership sales then I turned

it into health of sales once they were systemized I am a turnkey solution for

somebody who wanted a health club and usually it was a member or one of my

staff who would end up buying it so I sold eight and on my eighth the last one

I had out of the spa in the back no I had got my bachelor's degree in

education and that was kind of this like when I started having kids I have five

kids right so when I start having kids I was like you know what this is

irresponsible I need to go get a job that gives me medical gives me you know

paid vacation gives me more stability and so I went and finished my degree and

when I went into my students teaching I realized it was not going to work it was

just not me so at that moment I'm like okay well I've just wasted 50 grand on

an education that I'm not gonna use but when I sold my last health club I had

gone back to school and got in my aesthetics license I had met I had gone

through divorce and had met my future nail husband who was a physician and so

we kind of birthed the idea of a med spa after I had watched this lower a smaller

square footage turned bigger revenue than the whole gym and

one of the most attractive things was that I could see clients by appointment

in health lunch you don't get the set appointments for people you're there and

when they come in they come in and so it was you know more conducive to the

sports and stuff that we're going on with the kids so we opened the Med Spa

and CoolSculpting just kind of showed up and I that first was like no way am i

doing that because I'm not in debt and I don't want to be in debt absolutely no

way and then after some time I just kind of you know when you know something's

going to happen and you're almost fighting it like I don't want to but I'm

gonna and so that was cool sculpting so I added it on and we were instantly

successful but it was just applying those health club strategies which were

consultative they were listening they were and then putting the administrative

an operation systems in place for the health clubs all that really changed was

the consent forms you know the medical legal art I had to learn and I actually

had a consultant do that because I didn't know it but anyway here we are

I I think I heard from a dear friend early on that you know often innovation

comes from outside of an industry and so it's like these ideas that were not new

to me they were tried to tested they were just you know robotic at this point

when I put them into a different industry then it all snapped then it all

came together it clicked and it was like ah that's what I've been working on this

whole time so you know we talked about in the beginning of this the endpoint

and understanding your endpoint I never saw myself here I don't think that if

we're on that if we're on a right path if we're doing the thing that it's the

right thing right now we really don't know where it we can't see the

possibilities we can't see how big or how successful or how free so you know I

I think when you're when you're setting that end point for yourself and it does

have to be kind of ceilings and some nice thing you know like putting your

toes in the sand and your mind and stuff like that but but really that the

possibilities are endless once you just get getting your groove yeah and I think

that's a really at the end of the day I feel like your

goals and you know the end point is always gonna be evolving you know

obviously like you're always growing as an individual and so every six months I

would always always tell me what I do this myself like I go back to my goals

and see how they like how they've change because you know we're always gonna want

better things we're always gonna have you know envision better things or

things that we never even you were possible I had no idea I would have a

podcast here with you today you know I mean like but it's awesome and I'm like

you're doing it right I never would have found that you know a year ago and so

really being able to kind of establish those goals and keep coming back because

they're gonna be evolving they're gonna be changing as you're growing as a

person as a business man or woman and just you know obviously like you know as

you continue to go through your life so I think that's huge and so you talk a

little bit about fitness industry you came to kind of in the medical space and

then now you do a little bit of kind of you know obviously you run your practice

yeah I know you're opening up a new location so that's exciting at the same

time you also do a lot of consulting for other practices so you know I'm always

growing and always evolving like you said but um when I got to the place

where now our diamonds with everything that we provide we're at the top level

and we are opening a new location that is a little bit more low local to where

people are right now our existing business really across the street from a

cow pasture like very hard to get to cost a lot of money to drive clients

that far so what I'm gonna do or what I'm doing and it actually starts this

weekend so this is exciting I didn't know it's talking about it I have begun

a certification process where as my clients who have been working with I'm

flying them in and I'm teaching them from beginning to end and actually my

new or doing an orientation for new staff too so we have a big crowd of over

20 people going to be in these in the certification center this weekend and

that's really what we're going to use this for so my education degree that I

thought I wasted fifty thousand dollars on it finally comes to fruition and it

finally played everything I get it that is so awesome and what is

the name of the certification we're calling a patient first mastery

aesthetic certifications so we will do a level one which is really a generalized

sales and consultations and basic employee staff stuff but I expect that

level two and three I'm going to really specialize these people in to their

specific niches within the business there's some of them are estheticians

some of them are CoolSculpting some of them are front does so we're really

doing a generalized kind of how to deal with people and the psychology behind

sales and and our clients and then I'm excited to get into like you know Bella

Phil and go into the products now my husband is doing some crazy things so

with the physicians getting trainings going on and all of that so it's very

exciting now it'll be a very peaceful place for people who are on a vacation

to come out and hang out near the cows and learn a little bit about how to

maximize and really shift the mindset of the group you know I guess it's a topic

for another show but I talk about groupthink and it's like almost like

like a zombie kind of thing like once the culture has something wrong with it

in the business then it's like everybody just kind of hurts together and assumes

that you know so and so what so-and-so said is true and all that so getting

people aware of those little things that everybody can do to improve the business

and getting them feeling connected with the ownership of that the lie finding

out their walk you know so very excited awesome so you guys heard it it's in the

name patient first mastery certification so if you guys want to get certified by

Cassidy you need to reach out to her right now

it looks like as I still have I still have some people to fit in next month so

that's awesome no and I think I think I mean you know obviously working with you

for a few months now I think you bring a very unique perspective in in the

medical esthetics practice kind of management how

and really just operations I guess because at the end of the day you know

obviously you have your your Fitness kind of cells background and I think

that plays a huge obviously plays a huge role in everything you do but going back

to everything you've preached and said since the very beginning which is focus

on listening focus in on the patient what their needs are what their concerns

what their challenges are and then tailoring the solution based off that

and I feel that's why I think this certification name is amazing you know

and it kind of really fits in because it's patient first right and I think in

any type of business deal one of the sure ways that you know you'll succeed

is that when you can really provide value to someone right and that's all

business days if somebody has a problem if you can provide a solution then

you're providing value and at the end of the day you'll be successful you can

ultimately charge money for that and business and so the more valuable you

can be to somebody by providing them a solution that is specifically tailored

for them and especially at this age where everything is so customizable with

the internet everything is so personalized treatments have to be

personalized and designed for the specific person like it has to be there

if you want to win and dominate in the marketplace today because that is where

the industry is building and so really having those skills that you're going to

be teaching people in a certification is key like you know it is so important and

obviously you know the success your success speaks for itself I mean triple

a diamond certification on Botox fellow-feeling post-op thing I mean that

that is amazing it's all in understand it's all in that compassion and so

whether it be a sales problem in the business sometimes it's a staff problem

and a sales problem and so we kind of like we need to do that for everybody

here everybody and validate everybody and just having the CoolSculpting device

is not enough that's the solution sure but if people can't connect it so

their specific problem and how it's gonna give them how you are gonna give

them the best result then people know at this point that everybody provides

CoolSculpting and it's getting to the boy

when people are knowledgeable enough to even call it just like they do say they

say how much per unit of Botox they're saying how much per cycle is

CoolSculpting so if you can't really connect then you're just going to lose

business to the people who are doing it for nothing and they're those people are

out there unfortunately yeah and then just just to kind of give a little bit

of background as far as like I mean why I'm in this no I mean I guess like I

wish right now on the CEO CEO and owner of arable we're a full-service marketing

agency but we specifically specialize in working with medical aesthetic practices

that's all we do and so I've been working with medical aesthetic crimes

for almost three years now and really when I got my feet wet in the industry

was actually working with CoolSculpting practice in my local area they were just

having trouble generating patients iterating leads in a week in seven days

we got them 126 leaves where before they went to get about like four phone calls

a week something like that so ever since then I was like oh my god like and at

the time I was working at another company where I was a co-owner at I I

saw that there's a lot of tsukino opportunity in the coast coding industry

and I said you know what I want to open up a business that specifically

specializes in working with you know Coast coding practices but then beyond

that just medical aesthetic practices of all right and I think for me I've always

been passionate about business like I mean I grew up in a family where my dad

was always like an entrepreneur my mom was a stay-at-home mom but she always

did like the thing where she had like side hustles and stuff like that so she

was always like doing something different you know I was selling things

I was like selling things and those love kills so candies because we used to live

like Mira we used to live near high school like an

elementary and so I would buy candy and it would pass by my house and then they

knew that I was okay so let's sell candy to that so my dad was always like why

would you ever want to work you know have a like a job why would you ever

want to work for somebody else maybe just work for yourself and as you know

being young like you kind of just like yes you're Dalit you know

you kind of ignore that but that was really rated me and I could tell that

even when I was in college I hated being in college like I had my first business

at 21 and I guess I always hate like I kind of hated being in college because

of the time restrictions right you hadn't be in a specific time to be at a

specific time and stuff like that and to a certain point I kind of felt like a

little they're not dead breath well I mean you know just kind of salad you

don't feel at home you don't feel like yourself you know and so I always said

like after I graduated I said like I never want to have like work for

somebody else and so I had my first business of 21 while still in college I

graduated I still had the business want to keep that going but I've always been

passionate about business and just really helping other people succeed in

and I guess going back to that like being passionate about helping other

people see the success they want and that's really what I love doing what I

do now because I've done I've done it all like I've done cold calls I don't I

walked you know in South Texas where it's a hundred degrees or more knocking

on doors on businesses trying to sell people trying to keep our business alive

because of the other day number one is sells and cash flow right if you don't

have those things then your business is going to fail and so that's the number

one reason businesses fail so you know doing cold email doing like marketing

advertising I've done it all and whenever I if you years of doing that I

discovered this system of doing direct response / inbound marketing advertising

to really help build out the sales pipeline right and when I discovered

that it really kind of became the opportunity where you know what I don't

have to go down the streets or cold call people anymore to really build out my

pipeline into do prospect and I'm like wow like this is not this is a surefire

way this is a way that we can help businesses grow not in three months

where you're doing SEO I mean SEO was great and on you want to do SEO but a

lot it's a long-term strategy where it's like well you know if you hire somebody

it's gonna take you know three to six months and seeing a result at the end of

the day what we're doing today of marketing what is a the opportunity that

is available today is like you can start seeing results tomorrow you know to me

like you start seeing leads you start writing interest you know hours hours

like from when you when when something is implemented right so I think there's

a huge opportunity and right now we work with obviously we work with you right so

you bring a you're working with you brings a lot of insight when we work

with practices all across the United States and really helping them build out

these foundations one but then to implementing these systems for building

out their pipeline and getting new patients in the door butts and seeds and

just ultimately increasing revenue it's incredible you know I remember that

moment I'm gonna break in because I want to speak to edible I remember that

moment when I had the aha like oh my gosh now we just get people like you can

find people on Facebook specifically who were like looking for this or who likes

this or who like it's so cool because I remember the cold cold days I'm done

it's like I remember the door to door or business to business sweating putting

Flyers on car windshields like I remember physically hustle a lot more

than we do now but I will see temple I am really

enjoying working with this company because it's a it's a one-stop shop and

the company that was previously doing my stuff that was a fit for a while in that

person or that company have enabled everything so you guys are doing that

again and so in the interim when I when it didn't have like I worked with some

big companies that really work for about 20 or 20 or 25 marketing companies in a

short span of time and I first off did not see results secondly I you know they

only handle they wouldn't handle like the lead forms they wouldn't handle be

you know anything other than just getting names and so I really appreciate

you guys but I will say that with you know I had a marketing company for over

a year that was a good fit and was doing it and we were hustling and then when

that relationship ended um I thought you know that I wouldn't be able to see

leads coming in for the price that he was getting them ever again after I

worked with a few other companies and okay you're getting leads for my company

that are more qualified and for a quarter of the cost of times so whereas

we were paying you know $45 per leave now

you know sometimes remaining twelve to fifteen dollars with you and still I

don't even know if I've said that to you but I really appreciate it

no I appreciate that I appreciate you saying that so I guess just to kind of

come to a close here I mean you know and again just reiterate we're going to be

talking about a lot of stuff so you definitely want to be in you know part

of the episodes you want to tune in we're going to be launching episodes

every single week and again if you want to be part of the part of the podcast

then we're actually working on our website right now so later if you want

to provide us with your email address we'll go ahead and actually email you

every time we have a new show out so you can listen to it on your you know drive

to work or you drive out to work or launch or whatever or you know in the

morning you can stay up to date with what is going on the medical esthetics

industry and you know what what what people are doing to really find success

so again and if you have any questions feel free to post them on the group or

send us an email contact us any way shape or form and we will you know we'll

get those answered we'll do a show about it but by all means guys we want this to

be driven by you you want this to be a show about you so reach out to us help

us kind of guide this show into whatever it is that you want us to want to be

seeing in the marketplace right now yeah I'm excited so super pop LOL i'm not

Steampunk Top Hat Cake - Duration: 15:48.

Hello.

Welcome to American Baker in Germany.

I'm Michelle and today we are making a steampunk hat cake.

I'm very excited about this because this is in honor of a good friend of mine.

And if you are not familiar with steampunk subculture, it's a subculture of the gothic

culture where people wear all black.

But it's just a tiny bit on the nerdy side in my opinion, where they like all things

mechanical, but not digital.

So, things with gears on it, pocket watches, top hats, basically fashions from the eighteenth

and nineteenth century.

And I think it's really cool looking.

It's not a subculture that I follow in particular, but I really, really love the way it looks.

And a friend of mine, I realized that she is very interested in it.

So, this is for you, Rachel!

And I really hope you enjoy what we do today because it was really, really fun for me to

do, and I hope that you enjoy it as well.

Let's get started!

I begin a few days before with some preparation work.

I roll out some yellow-orange fondant and using all of my round piping tips, I begin

cutting out some small circles using my largest round piping tip.

Then, using my small piping tip, I cut a hole out of the them to make tiny rings.

These will act as my grommets later on the laces I plan to make.

Then, I cut out some circles using my smallest circle cutter.

I use the back of a piping tip to make an impression in two and cut out a circle in

the third.

Then I use a round piping tip to cut out the centers of two and intermittent holes out

of the ring of the cog.

I cut slits into the outside with a knife and remove every second section to make it

look like a cog.

I clean up the edges with a knife.

The next cog I cut out halves of a round piping tip to make the teeth.

I cut out a few holes around the cog.

Then, using various different combinations of these techniques, I make several more cogs

of different sizes.

I also cut out a square belt buckle with tongue that I place on the buckle to look like it's

already buckled.

I roll out a piece of white fondant and cut out a circle, which I place on top of the

slightly larger circle of yellow-orange fondant to be a pocket watch.

I roll small logs of yellow-orange fondant and make the winding wheel of the pocket watch.

Then I cut the small logs into small lengths and curve them around to act as half of a

chain.

I let everything dry for two days and painted them with bronze colored edible paint.

I slowed down for the pocket watch and painted the face on with the bronze paint as well.

I cut a small circle out of cardboard and wrapped it in aluminum foil to act as a small

cake board.

Then, without sticking the first layer down, I stack the cake.

These are four inch layers of frozen chocolate chip cake, filled with chocolate ganache.

I debate for a moment if I want three or four layers of cake, but eventually decide on four.

Then I stick the cake board on top.

Using a steak knife, I begin carving the cake, but because it's frozen, it's really hard

to cut.

I decide to let it sit for a few minutes before trying to carve again.

It's at least possible to cut, but it's still quite difficult due to the chocolate

chips sticking together.

Sometimes they came out in chunks.

So, a word to the wise, if you're planning on carving a cake, I would suggest using a

flavor other than chocolate chip cake.

It's possible, but very difficult compared to other flavors.

I carved the cake in a taper down to the bottom.

Then I crumb coat the cake in chocolate ganache and chill the cake half an hour.

In the meantime, I get out a small, round plate to act as the brim of the hat.

I roll out some black fondant to cover it with and brush the plate with water to help

it stick down.

Then I smooth the fondant on the plate and trim it to size.

Then, to cover the bottom side of the brim, I roll out a log of black fondant and twist

it into a circle and roll it out from there.

Then I gently place it onto the bottom of my plate.

I gently wrap the bottom edge up to cover up all the white on the plate, and trim off

the excess fondant.

Then I get my cake back out of the fridge, stick a bit of ganache onto the top of the

cake board and place the plate upside down onto the cake.

Then I flipped the cake over and ganache the top of the hat cake.

I adjust the hat since it was leaning to one side.

I rolled out some black fondant and cut out a large circle to fit onto the top of the

hat.

Then I rolled out a large strip of black fondant,

trimming one edge to be straight,

and wrapped it around the cake.

I cut the excess off with a knife.

At this point, I noticed that the cake was a bit unstable, so I chilled it for fifteen

minutes in the fridge.

After it had chilled, it was easier to smooth.

I roll out a strip of black fondant,

cut a strip the same width as my belt buckle,

measured how long I needed with a fabric measuring tape, tapered one end, textured it with my

overstitch wheel and cut holes with the end of a piping tip.

Then I wrapped the belt around the base of my hat, overlapping so the tapered edge was

visible.

And glued the buckle onto the belt, tucking the tongue into one of the holes.

Then I rolled a long log of black fondant and used it to clean up the top of the hat

where there was a slight gap in the fondant.

I used my overstitch wheel to add texture to the log on the top as well as the brim

of the hat.

Then I cut two narrow strips out of black fondant and added several holes with a piping

tip.

I glued the first one directly over the seam in the black fondant and the second one maybe

two inches to the left, and trimmed them both to size.

I carefully glued the bronze grommets onto the holes.

using my clay extruder, I extruded a thin and narrow strip of black fondant

to act as laces.

I dabbed a bit of edible glue into the holes and placed the laces into opposite holes,

tucking in the stray edges with the handle of a paintbrush.

Next I placed the gears on random places on the side of the hat.

I placed the pocket watch on the top of the cake, and laid the watch chain along one side.

I touched up the bronze paint a bit on the chain and realized that the watch doesn't

have hands.

So, I painted a couple on with bronze paint as well.

I think this turned out really fun and lovely.

It really represents the steampunk culture and is rather whimsical.

I love the way the belt looks.

The laces are reminiscent of a girdle and the gears are just fun.

Because the cake was sitting on a plate, we didn't even need a cake board!

I really love this cake.

So beautiful!

When cutting the circle out of black fondant for the top, I originally cut one too small

and had to redo it.
