5 Ways to Help a Local Dog Rescue 🐶💕 - Duration: 7:23.

well hello can i join can we welcome them to a dog vlog

alright guys so in today's video I am going to talk about five things that you

can do to help your local animal rescue or animal shelter without necessarily

having to donate lots of money are you gonna help are you gonna be my helper oh

okay we're sleepy okay so tip number one on how you can donate to your local

rescue or shelter without necessarily having to spend a ton of your money is

use smile.amazon.com if you go to that web link all you have to do is sign in

with your amazon account and then you can pick a charity of your choice that

amazon will donate money to as you purchase items on amazon and it doesn't

cost you anything so the biggest way that you can make an impact on the

animals in your community is to go to that link and find a local rescue or

shelter so for instance I am currently donating to MARF the Madison Animal

Rescue Foundation which is who I foster through right now so every time

I buy something on Amazon a portion of my purchase price it gets donated

to MARF which is great because it doesn't cost me anything and so one

thing I'm planning on doing is like all of the things that we need regularly in

the house things like toilet paper paper towels any makeup products that I use or

hair products that I use that I don't necessarily need to go shop for I'm

gonna start buying all that stuff on Amazon because I have Prime and it's

easier for me anyways so that's a great way that you can help out is just use

smile.amazon.com alright so tip number two on how you can

donate to your local rescue or shelter without necessarily having to donate a

ton of money is to donate your time recently I just signed up and submitted

a volunteer application at my local animal shelter i have to schedule a

volunteer orientation and then I'll be ready to help them in whatever way that

they need many times shelters just need volunteers to come walk the dogs and

spend time with them to get them out of the kennel and out of that stressful

situation so you know considering maybe spending a couple hours a week or a

couple hours every other week to go help out your local shelter you want to help

them tell me what number three is Daisy you want to help all right

so number three is just to be an advocate for your community and your

animals that are in your shelters and local rescues and that can be as simple

as going out to their Facebook pages and sharing you know animals who need homes

just to get it in front of more eyeballs so that more people see it another thing

is to just bring awareness to the idea of adopting from shelters and rescues

rather than shopping I think in general we just need more awareness around the

issue oh if you're here on this channel please like and subscribe and also share

this video if you have anyone in your realm of friends that you think it may

help because anytime you just spread the idea of adopting rather than shopping it

really does help

all right so way number four that you can help out your local rescue or

shelter is to donate some items like all this crap behind me I actually have a

local rescue in my area called A New Leash On Life who operates a volunteer

operated thrift store and so you can donate items and then all the items that

are sold all of those proceeds go directly back to the shelter

so I'm going through my closet and decluttering what's up Marie Kondo I'm

going through all of my stuff to declutter I have tons of clothes tons of shoes to

donate I also am going to donate lots of old pots and pans and household items

that I don't use anymore and all of those proceeds are gonna go back to the

rescue another way that you can donate items is if you have old like towels old

blankets old sheets or old pet supplies like

collars leashes harnesses things that you don't use anymore you can always

donate those types of things to rescues and shelters so think about you know

just going through and decluttering your house huh Bailey is that right is

that right is Bailey approved good girl and another thing that you could

possibly do is if you don't necessarily have a resource like I do like the New

Leash on Life thrift store you could consider having your own garage sale or

yard sale with all of those decluttered items and then take all the money you

earned in the yard sale and donate it and I saved the best tip for last number

five one of the best ways that you can help a local shelter or rescue is to

foster a dog and fostering a dog can be a really rewarding experience and can be

a really great way to help an animal in need you know dogs being in shelters is

not good for them it's very stressful for them and can sometimes mask their

personality so providing a loving home for a dog and kind of teaching it basic

things like house training and you know tricks and obedience is a really good

way to provide a routine for a dog until they can find a forever

home hey Dollie huh you want to say hi to everybody come here

come show your beautiful face oh come here

alright this is my current foster dog Dollie we've had her now for about two

weeks my husband found her and her puppies actually in a trash pile near

where he works and the animal rescue that we contacted MARF they had a place

for the puppies to go but they were gonna have to look for a foster for her

so I was like why don't we just foster her you know we have room we're used to

the chaos of having four dogs so why not so they encouraged us to fill out a

foster application and we did and so we've had her now for about two weeks

and we'll start taking her to adoption events soon she just got spayed but it's

been really eye-opening experience for both me and my husband I don't think we

ever thought that we would foster dogs I don't think it something we ever thought

that we would do because it's it's gonna be really hard to say goodbye but now I

think it's something that we're gonna try to regularly do and try and keep a

foster dog in the house and try to help as many dogs as we can so that's another

way that you can help out is to foster a dog and yeah it's gonna be really hard

to say goodbye but I think knowing that we helped a dog find a home is gonna

make it all worth it

How to cultivate confidence and self expression - Duration: 7:41.

hi this is Carrie Jordan from the Rise Collective and I help women meet their

goals with the help of the unseen forces today I'm going to talk about some ways

that you can start to cultivate confidence and self-expression in your

life and in your work so let's dive in first I want to say that cultivating

confidence and self expression can be an intellectual feat you can read about

ways to do this and you can read about what it feels like but until you

actually have an experience a feeling confident and feeling expressed it's not

going to translate in your mind it's not going to translate in your body your

mind in your body have to be on the same page by combining your intellect with

your experience so I'm going to share some ways that you can create an

experience of being confident and being self expressed so that you can start to

teach your mind and teach your body what that feels like and you can start to

create you can start to see opportunities in your life where you can

make a different choice of how to behave and how to be okay so let's get started

with a few ways that you can create these experiences

the first way that you can create an experience of self-expression and

confidence is by challenging yourself so there's a lot of hidden potential locked

up in your genetic code they say that we barely meet our

potentials as human beings and that's because there's so much potential locked

up in our genetic code if we are continuing to behave in the same ways

and do the same things every day and get really wrapped up in a daily routine

then that genetic code is going to continue to stay locked up however if

you challenge yourself and start to increase your capacity for difficult

situations and doing difficult things you're going to start to unlock that

genetic code new parts of yourself are going to be revealed to you and to the

world and so challenging yourself whatever that means to you just doing

something different something new something hard you can do hard things so

this is a great way for you to build confidence in yourself once you realize

that you can accomplish something that's difficult then you are going to get to

know a new part of yourself and cultivate that confidence okay the next

way that you can cultivate confidence and self-expression is through dance

dance is one of my favorite activities and I see dance as very vulnerable and

in terms of the movement meditation realm I would say that dance is a lot

more vulnerable than yoga because in yoga people are all doing the same

movement whereas with Dance each person has their own expression their own

self-expression of how they do the movement and so

dance can really be a vulnerable way to express yourself and it can be a way for

your body and your mind to start finding comfort and vulnerability and to start

cultivating that confidence to express yourself the next way is sort of related

it's also musical this way is by singing when you sing you are also creating a

specific to you expression no one else has your singing voice no one else has

the creativity of the song that you're writing and so singing and dancing are

great ways for you to cultivate that self-expression that confidence and to

help you find comfort in vulnerability and to do hard things if you find

dancing and singing and being vulnerable hard these are going to be great ways

for you to challenge yourself and the last way for you to start to cultivate

confidence and

the next way for you to cultivate confidence and self-expression is by

leaning into the alignment of the cycles of nature and as you do this as you lean

into and start to trust the cycles of nature you'll start to realize that you

are magnetically and naturally supported in everything you do by the cycles of

nature as long as you are working with them and not working against them and

finally the last way that you can cultivate confidence and self-expression

is by revealing and this one's important this is really about how we relate with

other people in our society it's customary for people to put on a mask

that everything's fine I'm I'm getting through the day I'm doing great and to

just move through life without revealing what's really happening on the inside

and I believe that this could be possibly a large part of why we have

such an issue with mental health in our society revealing is it means revealing

what's really going on for you and it's just noticing what's happening for you

emotionally and physically in your body so you can just share I'm noticing blank

but this is happening inside of me and sharing that with trusted friends and

colleagues this can really help people feel more connected to you and it can

help you to feel more accepted more seen in who you really are and how you really

are rather than always having a mask on in the world so now that you have my

best strategies for cultivating confidence and self-expression

how would you like to have a goal-setting roadmap and formula so that

every day you wake up and you know what your next step is and you trust that you

are supported by the magnetic forces of nature well if you want that roadmap and

formula just scroll down to the description and there will be a link

there for you to download it and finally if you like this video click the like

button share it with your friends and subscribe to my youtube channel because

I post a new video every Thursday I'll see you next time

22) Dr Jordan B Peterson - Etes-vous prêt pour le Déluge? Are you ready for the Flood? - Duration: 4:39.

Then we switched to Scar now Scar is

Mufasa's brother evil brother. The king always has an evil brother

And so does the hero the hero always has an adversary

And the reason for that is the king always has an evil brother and that means that the state

Always has a tyrannical element and the tyrannical element exists for two reasons. One is the state

Deteriorate of its own accord and that's an entropy observation what that means is that the state is a construction of the past

Right, but the present isn't the same as the past and to the degree that the past is

Mismatched with the demands of the present then. It's then it's then it's tyrannical. It's

Malfunctioning and so it's it's a continual problem with the state

It's always two steps behind the environment

and

so then

That means that the awareness of living people has to update the state and so Eliade Mircea Eliade who's a great historian

Of religions looked at flood stories from all over the world because there are flood stories from all over the world

Partly because there are floods all over the world

But that's there's a psychological reason to so imagine that

New Orleans was wiped out by a hurricane

Right a flood didn't you say well that was an act of God, but then you think wait a second. Wait a second

They knew those damned dykes weren't gonna hold they knew they weren't built strong enough

They took the money that was allocated to the dikes and spent it badly and that was willful blindness

And so you could say that it was God who caused the flood so to speak metaphorically

But you could also say that it was the degeneration of the state and the willful blindness of the politicians that caused the flood in

Holland they build the dikes to withstand the worst storm in 10,000 years in

The southern US they built them to withstand the worst storm in a hundred years and they knew that that was insufficient

and so the flood if there's a flood while you can say

Well, that's an act of nature but you can also say just wait a sec

maybe if there was a flood because we looked the other way and

Because our systems were out of date and that's why in flood stories. There's there's a

continual theme which is the the people get wiped out by the flood because God judges them harshly for their

Senility and their willful blindness and it a story that's very much. You'll have a flood in your life

Right. It'll be a flood of chaos

and you'll find of one form another and you'll find when you investigate the causes of the flood that some of it will be and

Sometimes this is the case. It's just random. You just got singled out

You got a terrible disease and that's the end of you or something like that

But there'll be other situations where the flood comes and you're surrounded by chaos, and you'll look into it

You'll think I knew this was coming. I knew I wasn't paying attention

I knew I hadn't sorted things out and the

consequences of that will have cascaded

And wiped you out and then you're in real trouble because not only did you get wiped out but you also know it's your fault

And that is not a good thing that makes you bitter and resentful and murderous when that happens

So anyways Scar is scarred, right?

So what that implies is?

He's had a pretty rough life and he's kind of skinny and he said he was born in the low end of the gene pool

And so he has reasons to be resentful

He's also hyper intelligent and rational and it's one of the things you see very commonly about the evil

adversary of the state or of the individuals often intelligent and hyper rational and

The best commentator on that was probably John Milton in Paradise Lost because that's how he represents Lucifer or Satan

Who's the spirit of rationality and enlightenment strangely enough?

hence Lucifer the bringer of light and

the reason for that as far as I can tell and this is something that Milton figured out when he

compiled all these ancient stories about evil and tried to make them coherent was that the problem with

rationality is that it tends to fall in love with its own productions, right?

and so then it comes up with a theory that makes that a

Totality and then it won't let go. So the rational mind has a

Totalitarian element and we know that to some degree because that kind of rationality seems more left hemisphere focused and the left hemisphere

Tends to impose structured order on the world and be updated by the right hemisphere and the right hemisphere

Generally updates it with negative information and with fantasy and so the left hemisphere will impose a coherent structure on the world

Which is really necessary for you to live in it

But the problem is there's a tension between coherence and completeness and that's partly why you need two hemispheres

you need one to represent and you need one to keep track of the exceptions and to feed those slowly into the

Representational system so that it so that it can stay updated without collapsing into complete chaos

11 Crazy Cheap MTB Upgrades! - Duration: 8:37.

For many of you, your mountain bike is the love of your life.

Even if it put you in the toilet financially or caused you injury, it's also given you

freedom, confidence, and joy.

So you want to tend to and pamper your mountain bike, but you have no money left to do it.

I've got you covered today.

We're gonna look at a whole bunch of inexpensive things you can do to your bike to make it

work better, look better, and last longer.

The stuff we'll be looking at is so cheap that tires don't even make the cut.

Let's get started.

If color coordination is important to you, plastic valve caps are the cheapest way to

do it, hands down.

These are available in an absurd amount of colors, and I could just eat them.

In another video I tried aluminum caps, but they do get kind of crusty over time.

This doesn't happen to plastic, and they're available in way more color options.

Of course, you can only expect to get tops, a 5% performance gain from installing these

on your bike.

If you run flat pedals and ride hard, these pins will eventually become unrecognizable.

Replacing them with new stainless steel pins will restore your pedals to their original

glory—if you can get the old ones out.

I've used everything from vice grips to screw extractors to get the job done, and

the whole process is an oddly satisfying endeavor.

Most popular pedals seem to take this exact pin, but I have a link to a variety of them

below.

At the end of your shift cable is an end cap to protect it, and these can actually be upgraded

with anti kink end caps from Jagwire.

Like the extension cord on a vacuum cleaner they provide support a little ways up the

housing to prevent kinks, which can impact your shifting performance.

As long as you know how to adjust your derailleur, these are pretty easy to install, and they

add a bit of longevity to an otherwise vulnerable part.

So you adjusted the sag on your suspension and your bike is riding smoothly.

But when you hit a big drop it bottoms out.

Don't add air, add progression.

We covered this in detail in another video which I've linked below, but in short, reducing

your fork's air volume with these little spacers will make it more supportive deep

in its travel.

Volume reducers don't cost much, and they're very easy to install.

As far as cheap upgrades go, this is one of the biggest if you're an aggressive rider.

Something like an MRP ramp control cartridge accomplishes the same effect, but it's not

even in the same universe in terms of cost.

If you remove your front wheel often, you appreciate the convenience of a quick release

thru axle.

If not, you don't need it, these stealth axles are much better.

They're simpler, lighter, lower profile, better looking, and in many cases more secure.

If your front wheel stays on most of the time, this is a no brainer.

Just make sure you do a little googling to get the right one for your fork, and keep

a multi tool on hand in case you do need to remove your front wheel.

If your bike has these little threads under the bottom bracket, you can easily install

a bash guard.

This Zippa light taco bash is the most expensive thing in this video at $45, and it includes

a spare.

Installing it is not rocket science and it provides clear benefits, absorbing impacts

from below that would otherwise damage your chainring.

Even if you don't have these bolt holes, you can still install a bash guard around

your chainring for even cheaper.

If you wash your bike, which you probably should, you'll need to re-lubricate your

drivetrain.

Dry lube is the way to go.

This particular stuff is teflon based.

You spray it on, cycle your drivetrain, and it gets into all the nooks and crannies.

The liquid part dries up, leaving a slippery teflon residue behind.

But why is this better than chain oil?

I'm marking these two lengths of chain.

This green one is coated in dry lube, while this pink one is coated in chain oil.

Now to mine some dry dirt off the back tire of the murder machine.

It's easy to see that the dry lubed chain collected less dirt.

I've been having great success with this stuff, but any dry lube will keep your drivetrain

cleaner than chain oil.

Just be sure to keep it far away from your rotors.

Speaking of chains, they are one of the cheapest things you can replace on your drivetrain,

and doing so often will increase its longevity.

Just count the gears on your cassette and that's what kind of chain your need.

10 speed, 11 speed, 12 speed.

It's really that easy.

A good 11 speed chain is around $25, and even a really fancy gold chain is $60.

Most mountain bikes these days come tubeless ready, which means you can remove your inner

tubes and run lower tire pressure.

The parts you'll need are not expensive.

Just buy tubeless sealant and valve stems.

Most tubeless ready rims come with this tape already on them, but if not you can buy it

or use gorilla tape.

The process basically involves unseating the tire, installing the valve stem, pouring in

the sealant, closing everything back up, and pumping up the tire.

I'll spare you the details and leave some resources below in case you want to do this.

Brake pads come in many varieties, and they're optimized for different uses.

For instance high speed pads work best once they heat up, while comfort pads work optimally

right away but fade in performance if they get too hot.

Upgrading your brake pads it not expensive in the least, and it's very easy to do.

New brake pads need to be bedded in before use, and we covered that in another video.

Right now, it's too nasty out to go bed my brake pads, so let's see if we can figure

out a way to do it indoors.

Maybe just watch my other video and do it the normal way.

If you have a two by or three by drivetrain, it means you have shifting up at the front

of your bike as well.

While this does provide a lot of range and gearing options, it's also more complex.

I actually snapped a chain right here because it got tangled up in my wheel, and I'm not

surprised.

If you're okay with losing a bit of range, you can go one by.

This involves removing all your front chainrings, a length of chain, your front derailleur,

shift cable, and shifter.

In their place: this relatively inexpensive single speed chainring.

Since single speed chainrings don't need to shift, their teeth can be optimized to

hold the chain on, and performing such a conversion can improve reliability, make your bike quieter,

increase ground clearance, reduce cockpit clutter, and reduce the weight of your bike

by a whole pound.

Of course, in my case I installed a larger 11 speed cassette and Box One derailleur,

but that's going to be out of reach for this video.

I hope you found some of these upgrades useful or at the very least, entertaining.

Do check out the links and resources in the description, as well as my previous cheap

upgrades video that I made back in 2016.

Now at any budget you can improve your bike's performance, increase its longevity, or at

least give yourself the illusion that you're doing so.

Thanks for riding with me today, and I'll see you next time.

3 Smash Characters That Could Kill You! (Feat. TierZoo) - Duration: 10:02.

Vsauce, I'm Jake and my favorite game series for Nintendo is Super Smash Bros.

And while playing the latest game in the series, Smash Bros.

Ultimate...I got to thinking...what if these moves that are performed in the game where

to happen to you in real life?

So today we are going to focus on 3 characters and a specific move from each of them: Ganondorf,

Isabelle and Wii Fit Instructor.

Now, it goes without saying that if any character from Smash were to come at you, your likelihood

of walking away from that battle would be very small but with these 3 characters and

their moves we will be discussing, they are not only deadly but surprisingly so.

So let's start with Ganondorf and his Warlock Punch.

For this move, Ganondorf channels dark energy into a devastating punch.

In the game, when Ganondorf hits you with his Warlock Punch you generally fly back quite

a distance but if this hit you in reality, it would actually be much much worse.

To fully explain why, we need to first talk about what fuels his punch, dark energy.

Dark Energy is a property of space.

The more space there is, the more dark energy.

That is to say that as space expands, dark energy is not diluted.

And not only that, as more space comes into existence more dark energy, this energy of

space, would appear causing the Universe to expand faster and faster.

This relates to a discarded version of Einstein's Theory of Gravity in which he referred to

this concept as the Cosmological Constant, something that counteracts gravity.

An additional theory for dark energy relates back to the first to a degree.

It is some kind of energy fluid or field that fills all of space that as NASA states, "whose

effect on the expansion of the universe is the opposite of that of matter and normal

energy."

And that's really all we know - nobody knows exactly what dark energy is.

It is a theoretical concept to explain a problem...the problem being the universe expanding at an

increasing rate, that something is opposing gravity.

So taking what we do know about Dark Energy, we can speculate, and I want to emphasize

that we are speculating, what Ganondorf's Warlock Punch would do if it hit you.

Not only would his punch just be incredibly powerful in and of itself because of his strength

and size, but if he did hit you with a Warlock Punch you would not only be pushed back by

the force of the hit but also by the dark energy force.

You just don't get up afterwards and shake it off, you keep getting punched in a sense...you

are never at rest.

The force from his fist is still on you even though, physically, his fist is no longer

touching you.

And that force gets stronger and more powerful as you are flung back further from it.

Because dark energy is the opposite of gravity, unless you were somehow physically stopped,

you would just keep going.

Forever.

And of course at some point the force applied to wherever you were struck, let's say the

chest, would eventually crush your bones and organs and you'd just be a corpse moving

through the air.

Now there are other incredibly powerful punches in Smash Bros, like the Falcon Punch and while

deadly, you can imagine what would happen if a fist moving so quickly it ignited in

flame were to hit you, but for a really wonderful analisis, Lockstin & Gnoggin have a great

video on the topic which I'll link in the description.

And the term Falcon Punch actually comes from real life falcons punching their prey in flight...which

makes me wonder what are the most powerful punches in the animal kingdom?

To find out I just need to consult my TierZoo AnimalDex.

[TierZoo]

And speaking of animals, let's choose a new Smash character that I found to be surprisingly

deadly, the adorable Shih Tzu Isabelle and her fishing rod toss.

For this move, Isabelle casts out a fishing line and can capture an enemy, throwing them.

This specific move caught my eye because of just how powerful it is in the game.

So how powerful would it be in real life?

A fishing rod is a lever.

It's a simple machine generally used to amplify force.

There are 3 types of levers and each one is distinguished by the relation of the three

main parts: the fulcrum, the effort (also known as the force), and the load.

A catapult would be a class 1, a wheelbarrow would be a class 2, and a fishing rod is a

class 3 lever.

If we look at a rod the handle is the fulcrum, the force/effort is the arm of the rod and

the load is whatever is attached to the end.

In this case, you.

Quick sidenote, your arm when lifting is also a class 3 lever.

annnnddd 200.

Now here is where something counterintuitive but perfect for Isabelle's deadly move comes

in: It's harder to lift something with a class 3 lever than without one.

What it does excel at is increasing the speed at which that object is lifted.

It's a speed multiplier rather than a force multiplier.

Meaning Isabelle has to be stronger to throw someone with her fishing rod than if she just

picked them up with her paws and threw them.

But using the fishing rod she can throw them much faster.

But how much faster?

Great question.

The increase in speed is directly related to the length of the lever, fishing rod, compared

to the length of her arm.

Using freeze-frames we can roughly estimate that the fishing rod is 9x longer than her

arm giving us a 9x speed multiplier.

And since it's harder to lift things with a class 3 lever it also means Isabelle has

to be 9x stronger.

She would literally be one of the physically strongest characters in the game.

For example, here is one of the strongest humans on the planet, Thor Björnsson, throwing

a 12.32kg beer keg 8.05m into the air.

Isabelle could throw Thor holding a keg faster and farther.

So, with all that in mind and with some really cool studies on how fast a fishing line travels

through the air, we can estimate that if you were thrown by Isabelle with her fishing rod,

you would be travelling at around 643.7 kph if she threw you straight forward.

About 72% the speed of an airplane.

You would travel 240 meters in 1.3 seconds.

And going from 0 to 643.7 kph in roughly half a second would mean you'd experience 36.5

g's.

At that level of acceleration the average human body would briefly weigh 2.6 metric

tons, about as much as a small car.

You'd bleed into your retinas causing temporary blindness, and you'd black out either from

lack of oxygen going to the brain or just from the brain slamming into your skull.

Oh, and if it were quick enough, your neck would snap.

However that's not the end of it.

If she threw you into a wall or really any hard surface you would immediately die.

Now onto our last character, the Wii Fit Trainer and her move the Sun Salutation.

For this move, the Wii Fit Trainer generates a sun energy ball that can be used as a projectile.

If she is creating a ball made out of sun energy the closest analogue would be plasma,

the fourth state of matter along with solids, liquid and gases.

Plasma is a superheated gas that also conducts electricity.

Now how hot would this be?

Well, the Corona, the outermost layer of the sun is ten million degrees celsius.

Even if we went with the surface of the sun it would still be a disgustingly hot 6000

degrees celsius.

Since you would be standing next to this ball of hot death we are going to go with the temperature

of the Corona.

If you were faced with a Sun Salutation, things would be not looking good for you.

Water turns into gas vapor at 100 degrees C, so every liquid in your body would immediately

evaporate and so would those nice wet balls in your head you use to see.

Your bones would evaporate too.

Actually, everything in the vicinity would evaporate.

The stage you're on, the air around you, even Wii Fit Trainer themselves.

It would be a kamikaze move.

And this would all happen instantaneously.

The closest visual example I can think of is this...

So with all things said, you don't want to go up against any Smash character in real

life but these 3 in particular I found to be incredibly interesting in just how underratedly

devastating they would be in reality.

Not just to you but to anyone or anything around you.

If there are specific characters you want to see explored in scientific reality, let

me know in the comments below.

And speaking of underrated, let's go back to our TierZoo AnimalDex to find out what

the 3 most underrated animals are.

THIS IS WHY YOU REALLY NEED YOUR FAMILY by Dr Myles Munroe (WOW WOW WOW!!!) - Duration: 8:44.

the ten fundamental principles of the family you want to write these down

there are ten fundamental principles of the family that you should remember the

first one is that the family is the foundational unit for reproduction now

we hear a lot of talk about this lately we have questions about same-sex

marriages where we have two women wanting to create a in a legal marriage

and then create what they call a family we got two males talking about coming

together legally in a matrimonial relationship and say they're creating a

family well my problem with this is that according to the to the way God planned

the human development the family is the only perfect environment for

reproduction because it is the only qualified unit for effective and total

development when a child is born into a ideal family it is very rare for you to

experience a child who has social problems my mother and father and my

father's here today had eleven children and all of us are saying no one is a

criminal and we were not rich we were born into a family 11 kids in one of the

poorest part of our country in the midst of a whole lot of difficulties where

there was a lot of poverty a lot of stress and strain and frustration matter

of fact where we were born is where one of the first gangs in the Bahamas was

conceived and on both sides of our houses were drinking bar rooms how come

my mother and father produced such good children like myself and others here my

mother my mother father produced young people who are respectable and will

respect people because the home was the most

stable place for our development now I know that God has blessed many of you

single parents and your kids came out well but I tell you that there are still

some defects that you probably don't want to deal with because when there is

a dysfunctional family there will be in some unconscious ways some defects will

develop because people need whatever God put in the family structure it is the

ideal place for reproduction number two the family is the prototype of society

when God created a family he created a small Society so if you want to know

what a society looks like study the families number three Society is only as

strong as the family no matter what we say about our country about economic

development and projects going on and investors coming in and all of this uh

be talking about we got folks going to these jobs who came from homes that are

full of difficulties as a matter of fact I was talking to one of the general

managers of an hotel and he said that he needs me to come in and talk to his

staff because most of his staff are coming to work either angry bitter or

just out of a fight and they're trying to get these people to love the customer

or to love the tourists that come I think people come from homes where

there's broken families there's beatings there's incest there's frustration and

they're trying to be productive on the job and that's why there's so much

difficulty like drinking and alcoholism and and drugs on the job because these

young people are coming out of homes where there is no structure and guidance

and sense of belonging and they find it somewhere else with friends that are

doing activities that are not healthy the family is the key to the strain of

society number four society is a reflection of the condition of the

family you can tell what's happening in the family but what's happening in the

nation you study our society and it's a clear indication of what's happening in

our families because you cannot produce a nation better than your families your

family is a collection of nations and nations rather collection of families so

if the family is the nation would be sick in the family

is this integrated the nation will be disintegrated if the family is

frustrated that nature would be frustrated if there's anger in the

family he'll show up in the community and so their family determines the

condition of the nation number five the purpose of the family is to secure

society God created the family to protect society we should not focus so

much on society we should focus on the family because when you focus on the

family you automatically strengthen society and that's why any nation that

builds a strong family concept and a strong family priority you'll find that

nation prospering they'll be less poverty less crime less depression

matter of fact one of the weird things you should study is the Jewish

communities because they place family above government they place family above

education they face family above prosperity and that's why those Jewish

communities anywhere in the world you find them prospering there's low crime

rates among the Jewish people why because they focus on family well number

six it's kind of an explanation for that the purpose of the family is to secure

society and the safety of the family is the bedrock for human survival

if we don't sanctify the family again respected we are going to have a nation

that's integrating I put it to you number seven the family is not a product

of the state say then the government cannot create a family and the

government is not produced the family and we got to be very serious about this

because sometimes we want the government to bring up our kids government to

correct our husbands who maintain family responsibilities we want the government

to to take care of our our day care needs we want the government to punish

our kids for us you want the government to teach our kids for us and so we

basically have kids and then we dump them on the doorstep of the government

and say educate them discipline them correct them protect them while I go to

work and make some money the state did not create the family

as matter of fact was even more really that a family is a product of the state

no the state is a product of the family in other words the government is only as

good as their family that produced them some of you may wonder okay our worry of

politicians corrupt check the family in other words you cannot produce a

government better than the families in that society so we have government

leaders who commit adultery who shack up with people well study the

family that guy came from or that lady came from you'll find that the family

cannot produce a state better than itself so if you want a better

government you got to have a better work family many government leaders in these

countries through the Caribbean in the world are corrupt and they have moral

questions values that are so low but when you get your values from in your

morality from from your family not from the government so when they ended up and

they bring their values with them and now we get national immorality the

family produces the state number nine the dissolution of the family therefore

is the dissolution of the state in other words many destroy the family you really

destroy the country so society can be destroyed by destroying the family and

that's why there's so much attack going on on the path

A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO MICROPHONES PART 1: MICROPHONE TYPES - Duration: 3:14.

You want to record acoustic instruments but you are not sure on which microphones you

need to have to do so!

I am Giorgio from DIY Recording Hacks and welcome to the first part of the Beginners

guide to microphones!

Choosing the right microphone for the job is essential to get great recordings, microphones

don't need to be expensive but you need to pick the right one for the right source.

Microphones convert air pressure into electrical signals that will be recorded straight away

if you are working in an analog environment or converted to digital signal and sent to

a computer to be recorded if you are working in a digital environment.

There are generally 3 types of microphones: Dynamic microphones, condenser microphones

and ribbon microphones.

I won't go in to too much detail on how these types of microphones work but I will

try my best to explain you the characteristics of each type of microphone!

Dynamic microphones are less sensitive but they are very good to handle loud sources

so you can use them to close miking drums, guitar cabinets and generally loud sources.

Condenser microphones are more sensitive and accurate if you compare them to dynamic microphones

but they don't handle loud sources as well as dynamic microphones.

They are more accurate on the high end so I would use them iwhen i need to record precisely

a sound when i record vocals for example.

You need to take note that condenser microphones take phantom power in order to work.

Ribbon microphones are very delicate and sensitive, some of them take phantom power and some of

them cannot take phantom power because the ribbon will be damaged.

Typically they sound darker so they are smoother in top end response, so they are perfect if

you need to capture some overly bright instruments.

To start in a home studio I recommend to have at least a dynamic microphone and a condenser

microphone to have some variety, having a ribbon microphone is not a must because they

can tend to be very expensive, but if the budget is not overly tight it can be handy

to have one.

Generally when I choose a microphone I tend to look at its frequency response sheet and

then match to the instrument I want to record to obtain the sound I want.

In the next video of this guide I am going to talk to you about a very important feature

in microphones which is their polar pattern, which it determines how directional a microphone

is.

Consider the microphone placement is very important in order to get the sound you want.

And its way more important than having very expensive microphones, typically the right

type of microphone with the right position of the microphone will get you the sound you

want.

I hope that this video helped but I want to help you further, in the description i have

a link where you can download for FREE my microphone buying guide where I will give

you a list of microphone that I think they are essential for a home recording studio.

That's all for today Subscribe to this channel for more videos, leave a like if you enjoyed

the video and I will see you the next time!

How to start your application on MAC's new Online Application System - Duration: 7:38.

Hi! Martine Friesen again. Program consultant with the Manitoba Arts Council

In today's tutorial (the second of three), we're going to walk you through how to

start an application in our Online Application System. Let's get started.

You've created a profile on MAC's Online Application System, it's been approved,

now you want to start working on a grant application. So, go to our website and

there's the address of our website. That's our homepage and in the

right-hand corner is the sign-in button. So click on that and that will take you

to the landing page of our System. So put in your email address

and your password

and click login and

that will take you to a new page that you haven't seen before. So this is what

it looks like now when you when you have a profile. So there's lots of useful

information here. We're gonna walk you through this page before we actually

start on an application. There's also some resources- links to resources. Again

you can go back to our website. There's the resource tab which has lots of

useful information. And again, at any time if you need help there's the address for

help desk and the phone number so don't don't hesitate to call if

you need some some assistance. So basically this page has three sections

to it. On the left hand corner here in the upcoming deadlines are all the

grants that your profile type is eligible to apply to with the deadline

dates and apply now buttons. So we're gonna click on one of those in a minute

but that's just to sort of show you what's going on. On the right hand corner,

under the my applications are all the applications that you will have

in play. So once we have something in draft that's gonna show up. So we already

have something in draft here. If it's- Once it's sent to jury it's gonna be

under review, once it's awarded it's gonna be there, and once it's closed it's there.

In the requires attention tab that's where you'll find information

about funding agreements and final reports. So okay let's get started on an

application. So we're gonna click on the apply of the create application. So this

is some general information about the the create grant. Some deadlines,

notification of results, links to more glossary terms, grant amounts that you're

allowed to apply for, activities that you can apply for, expenses. These- this

preview is very similar in all of our grants so it's just a good preview. Also

a link to our peer assessment Handbook which is useful. And now there's some

confirmation questions that you will be required to answer before being able to

actually start an application. So the first one is what language you're gonna

submit your application in. So if you click on that there's several options.

You can submit in English. You can submit in French and translate yourself or you

can get MAC to translate it. So today we're gonna submit in English. You're

gonna be asked if you've updated your profile which it's something really

important to do because your CV, your resume artistic, resume/CV is sent along

to the Assessors every time you submit a grant. So it's up to you to keep it up to

date. And then you're gonna want to read the general guidelines, so there's a link

to that so confirm that you've done that and submit. Okay and here's the actual

application. So the application form is- consists of a series of boxes where you

select information, radio buttons, and open text fields. It has- this one has

four sections to it: Project information, Collaborator information, Budget and

Support materials. And if you click on any of those it will take you to that

section as you can see. There's also- if you scroll down, there's also buttons on

the left and right hand corner to take you next or back. If at any time you

want to review the whole application you can click "Application summary" and

that will sort of- you can click on it and you'll be taken to just- you can keep

scrolling down and the whole applications there including the budget all and

support material. So click out to go back. So I'm just gonna show you a couple of

things on this site, to this page. So the "Background, influences and previous

activities relevant to this application". That sort of replaces what we used to

called the artistic statement for any of you who have applied at MAC

before. You'll see the the word count is always at the bottom of the open text

fields. Those are strict word counts. You will not be able to submit more than

that. So it's important that you adhere to those maximums. You can

work in a word document if you like and cut and paste into these text fields but

keep in mind that formatting will be lost.

So no italics, bolds, bullets, that kind of thing. And again, here's the project

description. There's some questions for you to guide your answers if they're

useful to you. Again, 750 words max. So we're gonna go through the rest of the

application in the next tutorial. I just want to show you one more thing before

we finish her today. If, as you're working on your application, you have some

questions you really want some some feedback from a consultant, you can see

the notes tab. If you click on the notes tab and then you click on the plus

button and you say...

Mary's gonna say "Help,

can someone please read my budgets- someone please give feedback on my

budget" and then- or any other part of the application you want feedback on. And

then you submit at the bottom. You gotta scroll down a little bit, you save and

there you go! Mary Smith saying "Help! Can someone please give me feedback on my

budget" and that will be sent to a program consultant who will give you

some feedback. Of course you can always just pick up the phone if you want to

hear a human voice and program consultants are always happy to give you

some feedback on draft applications. So don't forget to save along the way and

if you submit- if you- so sorry we're going back to the actual application- So

save your draft anytime you input information. Save often. Now if you submit

and you haven't finished your application this is what's going to

happen. I click "Submit" and there should be- there we go!- a bunch of error

messages come up. So anything that you've left out that is required is going to

show up. And if you click on any one of those it will take you to the actual tab.

There you go! So thanks for watching. Remember if you need any assistance

contact helpdesk at 204-945-2237 or

toll-free at 1-866-994-2787 . You

can also email them at helpdesk@artscouncil.mb.ca thanks for watching. Bye!

Trump says he wants U.S. to develop 6G wireless technology ASAP - Duration: 1:59.

Whether you love the guy or hate him, one thing you can say about the Donald Trump presidency is that it is never boring

Many times Trump gets an idea in his head and regardless whether it came from an official briefing or a movie plot, he just runs with it

For example, the president wants the country to be first to police the galaxy with his Space Force creation

And today, Trump disseminated a tweet about 6G and how important it is to the country

In the tweet, the president wrote that "I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible

It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind

" As most of you already know, 5G service will slowly rollout in the U.S. this year

Yesterday, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 5G, which will be available this summer

5G download data speeds will be as much as 20 times faster than 4G LTE. The faster speeds will allow for the creation of new services and businesses

As for 6G, well it is way too early to even think about and there are certainly no 6G standards at this time

The rest of Trump's comments are found in a second follow-up tweet that reads, "I want the United States to win through competition, not by blocking out currently more advanced technologies

We must always be the leader in everything we do, especially when it comes to the very exciting world of technology!" This comment is interesting since Trump is expected to sign an order that bans U

S. carriers from using networking equipment manufactured by Chinese companies. In his own roundabout and scattered way of communicating, the president is calling for U

S. companies to compete in the networking equipment business. Currently, Huawei is the global leader in this space with Nokia, Ericsson and ZTE trailing

And that actually is not a bad idea.  President Trump wants 6G technology in the U

S. ASAP

Do you have work life balance in your startup? - Duration: 4:40.

- Hello there.

Mike Grabham here again today.

Today's question is about work life balance

and I had this posed to me--

What was that?

That was Monday of this week.

We were talking about--

Well, we started talking about how they could talk

about their partners and how she was able

to communicate with her partner about what they were doing

and she was just really confused and really just struggling

with the work life balance thing.

I just wanna talk about work life balance a bit.

Here's the thing.

There is no such thing as work life balance in a startup.

It just really doesn't exist.

Now, I'm talking about the founders.

The employees are different.

The founders, and especially the first few employees,

those people are working 10, 12, 14, 16,

maybe sometimes longer than that on certain days.

They're not doing it every day.

Some of them are, but you've gotta understand,

there's very little work life balance

when you have a startup.

So, here's some things to remember,

and I'm talking to the founders that have started.

So, here's some things to remember.

You still gotta take care of yourself,

you still gotta sleep,

get your four to seven hours of sleep.

Some people say they can live on four,

but studies have shown that six or seven hours

is really the minimum for most people, so get some sleep.

When you sleep and you're well-rested,

you make decisions faster, you make better decisions,

you're more fun to be around.

There's lots of positive things when you get some rest.

Your body does need rest.

So, that's one thing to remember.

Also, take care of your body, eat well,

and again, these are things that don't happen.

I know, I've been there, but eat well,

try to eat better foods, try not to eat fast foods,

and try to eat high carb--

Try to have a decent diet.

I know, it's tough, but just make better choices

when you're eating and consuming in your environment.

So, those are really important, what you eat,

and then exercise.

It's still important to exercise.

Now, I've been basically an exercise guy my entire life.

I've rarely been not exercising,

so it's important to me, but you know what?

It's super critical, again, to keep your body in good shape

because, again, you're gonna sleep better,

you're gonna interact with your employees

and or customers better.

All these things are positive things

when you eat, sleep, and exercise,

and you don't have to exercise every day.

Get in two to three days a week.

That's good enough.

Take a run for 45 minutes, get on a bike for 45 minutes.

Those things will also do two things.

They're obviously great for your body,

but they're also good for your brain

because it clears your head many times,

allows you to think differently

than being in a little box somewhere,

so you've gotta do that.

It's just super critical.

And here's some things, some tips

on how to communicate with your partners.

First, you've gotta tell your partners up front

what they're in for.

It is not an easy journey in the early stages of a startup,

so make sure that everyone's aware on your team.

Your team is your partner, your kids,

whatever those people are.

Make sure they understand what you're kinda stepping into

and you need to communicate that, not them,

so communicate what is expected.

So, that's important.

But then, when you are deep into it for 12, 14 hour days

for six, seven, 10, 12, 14 days or 14 weeks,

you still need to take some time for your family

because remember, they're still gonna be there,

so you have to do that.

Again, it's not easy, it's not easy at all,

but you've gotta do it, you've just gotta do that

so you can have some balance.

There is no true work life balance.

It doesn't exist in a startup,

so anyone that says it does, I disagree.

I respectfully disagree with whoever thinks

there is a work life balance.

There is definitely ways to be more balanced,

but for many, many people, it just doesn't exist.

They're too passionate about the idea

or they're the only one working on it

or they're a team of three and they gotta work

like a team of six.

I mean, there's lots of reasons, unfortunately, to do that.

That's my thing for the day.

Work life balance, you gotta try it,

keep your body healthy, and until next time,

have an amazing day.

Daniela Garcia & Carlos Herrera - Back To You - Duration: 3:47.

Slowly drifting away

Like quicksand pulling me in

Blinded by all the noise

I realize how far I have gotten

You call me out

You call my name

In this cycle of falling and getting back up again

Can't find purpose without You

Take my hand

Reaching up, reaching out, reaching in

I'm running back to You

His love is wild for me wild for you

It's never ending love

It's unstoppable, unbeatable

His love is more than you know

And I know that You know everything about me

And I know that You're the only one that I need

A love that keeps chasing me

You're such a marvelous mystery

I lock my eyes with You

I want to look like You

I'm running and hiding as I get closer to God

But I know You're my oasis

If I run let it be to You

Lord You're my hiding place

If I'm going to hide

Let it be by Your side

So won't you take my hand

Reaching up, reaching out, reaching in

I'm running back to You

Anything you do is just a response to His love. You can't make Him

love you more or less. Feeling that He's far doesn't change a thing.

He is constant and unchanged forever. He is as close and as in love

with you as He was from the beginning. He designed you and

created you for something specific in His marvelous plan. God is,

was, and always will be with you and for you. He's knocking at the

door of your heart to let Him in. He's running after you

There is no separation between Him and you. The veil was torn

and He's closer than you could ever know. You are His beloved,

Let Him be the lover of your soul

I'm running back to You

Studio Vlog: A book project, darkroom stuff, drawing and a hike! - Duration: 17:46.

Hi guys! Today I'm going to try something a little different. I think I'm gonna try

to vlog a little, which is a bit strange! I've never done it before.

So bear with me if this is a little weird! So, the first thing I'm gonna do today is

to edit some pictures. I'm working on a project right now which is ... it has been a

long time coming! I've been working on this project for five years and I've

already published some bits and pieces in different publications like this

one here for example. It's "Let's Explore". It's really really good! It has

such a nice design and great amazing stories and great pictures and all of that.

Right now I'm working on my own book about it and I also went back to

shoot some more pictures last year and I'm still in the process of editing

and it takes a long time, because I'm very picky and - even to select it

I need to make sure that the scans I have are without blemishes and so on and so forth.

I'm just very perfectionist in that way, even though I'm not gonna use those

scans in the first place, because I wanna print them in the darkroom. So, here is a mock-up of

the book. This is just a blurb thing, it's not very good yet. So, this is one of the

darkroom prints here and it's printed on cool tone paper and these are also ...

some of them will be sort of final but with some of the negatives from the first

batch ... I was shooting it on a Zorki and that went all sorts of wrong and

it tore the film and the negatives are a real mess. I can't use all of them just like that.

So I will have to scan the prints too, so I'm gonna ... I'm editing the scans

selecting what I want to print and then I'm printing and then I'm gonna scan the prints and

do some little adjustments, scratch removal and all that on the scans, and then I'm going to

put them in the book and design the book in that way. So it's a whole big thing!

It has already taken me five years and I still have to print lots and lots of pictures.

And the new stuff, I haven't even selected what I want to print yet, because I

I haven't edited all the pictures. So what I'm going to do now is to edit some more rolls.

Hi guys, it's the next day now and I'm just about to start editing again.

Yesterday I finished about one and a half rolls which is not an awful lot but

I try to aim for about one roll a day because it's very repetitive business to

be dust spotting and all that. But I think I'm making good progress here! So I'm

gonna continue now and not sure how much I'm going to show you of that, but maybe

I'll show you the outcome when I'm done.

So, I'm done with all the editing and I had some lunch and I just got a package

in the mail and I'm excited about that because it's a new toy for me and I

think I'm gonna show you a little bit of an unboxing now and well, it's super cool!

I'm super excited about this!

I've been playing with my stabiliser a bit and filming all sorts of stuff around the flat,

just trying things out. I think tomorrow I'm gonna take it up to the mountain

if I can manage. I'm very happy with it, it's really cool! I think I'm gonna have lots

of fun with it! Now it is quite late but I think I'm

gonna still draw a little. I started a drawing yesterday, last night, and I think

I can finish it today. I think afterwards I'm gonna go to bed and

continue tomorrow!

This was a sort of spontaneous drawing. It kind of looks like I practiced dogs

a lot before, but I wasn't really planning on making a dog character. I

was just drawing dogs. I suppose it was bound to happen though

since this is my character drawing sketchbook. There are bears and cats and

also a raccoon I believe. Well many different kinds of animals that I'm

turning into characters. And they actually aren't quite random

explorations either. The reason why I started drawing again after a long break

was that I wanted to work on a comic. Watching this video you probably

realized by now that I'm actually a photographer and mainly a photographer.

I wouldn't say that I'm entirely new to drawing, I drew a lot when I was a

teenager. It's just that I stopped at some point, like most people do and

I only started now again because of the comic. I had an idea for one a while back

like a couple years ago, and I at that point didn't really think that I would

be able to get my skills up to that level, and I'm still not there yet. What

I'm exploring here with the animal characters is something like an

intermediate step, a different comic that has come up since I've started drawing.

Basically you can get away with a lot more with animal characters, so I think

what I lack in figure drawing skills at the moment and where I couldn't get away

with drawing humans a lot, I think with animal characters it works out fine.

I'm still thinking of the right story for my animal characters and while I'm

pondering those ideas I'm working on characters,

just to see what I can do with them. My goal is to make characters that suggest

the stories to me, rather than that I think of a story and then make a

character for it. It already happens that I make a character and put it up on

Twitter for example and some of my Twitter friends suggest some cool story

for the guy. There was a bear recently who was the owner of a tobacco shop and

then there was another bear who had a whole back story and a family and all

sorts of stuff. It's quite fun when this happens! So, if you have any suggestions

for this cool dog go right ahead and leave them in the comments! I'm always

curious to hear what you think of my characters!

I just noticed something while I was editing pictures. I'm actually missing

two rolls that I need for my project. I know where they are, but I forgot

to develop them apparently. So, I actually have to sort out my darkroom!

I need to clean my developing machine and that sort of stuff, and I also want to

have a look whether I can maybe get that print washer to work that I bought a

while back but haven't really gotten to work yet. So I'm gonna do that now!

Wish me luck!

So I'm done. Took me a while. It was in a bit of a state. But I managed. So I

cleaned the developing machine and I cleaned the whole place and I also got the print washer to work

which is great! I thought it was broken but I was just using it wrong so I managed it.

But there was also a bit of an accident. Yeah I'm clumsy! And I actually managed

to hurt myself with the only really questionable item in the whole house,

which is the developing machine. It has like weird chemicals and stuff. Not a good

thing to hurt yourself on, but well ...! It's typical for me. For this stuff to

happen that's really typical for me. Oh well I hope I'm gonna live and if I

happen to have only four fingers in the next drawing you know why! Oh dear!

But, yay! I managed! I'm glad about that and now I can develop those rolls if I

can find them. They must be in some bag somewhere. But yeah instead of going up

the mountain like I planned today I was mainly cleaning the darkroom which

I didn't plan. But I hope I can manage tomorrow to go up there. I really want to

take the stabiliser up there. I think it's gonna be really fun! So now I'm going to

relax a little because that was a lot of work.

Likely dead.

Boring!

So as you can see, this is see-through instead of black, so my developer is dead!

How annoying! Got another strip and another developer so

I'm gonna try again!

This is black so I can use this developer!

Done!

Hi guys, I'm actually out in the wild! I'm trying out my new stabiliser and

so, it's a super bright day out! It's like 20 degrees and that's even unusual for

Spain, so I'm on my way up to the mountain. Up there! And I'm taking a

little break. I'm halfway up the stairs ... actually that's not right! I'm on the

first set of stairs and I'm already faltering! But this is the first hike of

the year so I am excused I think! I've got two cameras, one is this one, the

other one is in the bag, maybe you'll see it later. Okay, I think I'm gonna

continue now.

So I walked for a while and really everyone and their mother is up here! It's a

bit difficult to find a moment to say something without people staring at me! But it's okay!

Generally I like it a lot up here. it's super relaxing and I'm really a big fan

of woods! I think I'm going to go up there and show you one last thing and

then I'm gonna put the stabiliser away and finish the rolls I have in my cameras,

because the light is sort of fading and I at least wanted to get that out of the way.

Right now I'm just practicing walking stairs again because I haven't

done that in a while! also the stabilizer gets a bit heavy!

My arm is sort of falling off right now, so I hope you don't mind that I sign off

now! And, yeah I'm gonna show you some more stuff up there and then we'll see!

Okay! Bye!
