hello guys happy new year okay we had a

disaster yesterday today is the first

and i'm going to show you what happened

we had a big disaster and ended up with

a broken stove so i'm going to show you

the broken stove first there it is you

see that

ok so this is what happened we've got a

ninja and we love a ninja we were making

juice okay i'll show you the juice the

juicing that we've been doing in the

refrigerator here so there's the juicer

back there and so my husband's making

the juice i'll show you this too

ok so the back part here the lid doesn't

stay down anymore and so I don't know

what that's like the whole carriage part

that's broken but anyway the whole the

lid doesn't stay down

so this is what he did so go over here

and we get this so he's got this pulled

out right about here and it's so it's

sitting up here and it fell down and

went wack right on the stove and so I'm

in the other room and all I hear is oh

shit and so and I'm sitting there

thinking what happened because I'm

concerned that he cut himself so the

last time also the knives see here some

lives we got some knives right here and

one of them is missing because he didn't

like it and he cut himself really really

bad with this was about 4 or 5 years ago and

so he was getting ready to go on a new

job and he cut his finger like bad it

had to have stitches and so he had

missed his first day of work which was

terrible but you know accidents happen

you can't plan on accidents happening

and so anyway I thought he cut himself

and so with him be having these blood

clots and the blood thinners and

everything and you know and so my

concern is if you start bleeding his

blood is

in and then he you know he could bleed

to death you know something really

catastrophic was happening and so I

hollered at him i said what's wrong and

so I just SAT still for a minute or two

he's not answering me and so I get up

and he finally says here not going to

believe what happened a minute or two

might be too long but maybe maybe 15 to

30 seconds you're not going to believe

what happened and I'm like you cut

yourself

he's like no worse and so I come out

here and then this is what I see and I

said well I don't think that is worse

you know because my thing is him cutting

himself would have been worse i mean

yeah granted we need a new stove now

because this isn't going to work and I

know he's probably going to want to try

using it still but i'm thinking with the

heat this could actually crack at worse

maybe it could make the whole thing

explode

I don't know but that's just my thinking

is you know that that could possibly

happen let's get a good look down there

maybe I should find you i have a light

let me see me let me pause you guys

for a second I'm gonna pause you guys

oh gosh I don't think I paused you okay

the juice of one lemon, and 3 tablespoons of erythritol -- or you could blend in some dates.

I just put it in the fridge overnight. No need to heat it; it can just cold brew. In the morning I take out the tea bags, shake it up,

and drink it throughout the day, every day, all day long.

And as always, extra credit for green foam: pour a cup of the tea into a blender with a bunch of fresh mint leaves, blend on high, and then pour it back.

So you have dark green leafies blended into what may be the highest antioxidant beverage in the world, and it tastes like fruit punch. Your kids will love it!

now anyway let's get talking about

something creepy

when I was in trauma surgery in upstate

by I got a notification about a man who

was shot three times in the head he

comes in literally 1 eye hanging out of the

socket blood everywhere and he's slumped

forward

apparently he was shot in the temple

exited out his right eye socket in the

nose exited from the roof of the mouth

and in the cheek one with exit from the

side of the head at this point I'm

thinking they just brought him in so we

can pronounce him in the ER because he

looked dead i go to examine him and tilt

his head back and he says you be gentle

I jump back and scream like a little boy

as did everyone in the room literally

the bullets missed his brain in every

single shot

internal decapitation only saw it once

guy walked into the ER after a car wreck

saying I'm a little banged up my neck

kind of hurts

I thought I'd better get checked out

we're all laughing and joking with him I

stick a c-collar on per protocol and we

take him to get a CT scan

no biggie i'm thinking he'll be walking

out in a couple hours with a script for

norco and a couple days off work then

the scan comes back the attending md ran

into the room and starts barking orders

call neuro call trauma surgery call

spine

don't let this guy move another fucking

inch needless to say the patient was

fairly alarmed

this story happened somewhere around the

seventies to my uncle and even made it

to the newspaper

my uncle was driving on a scooter one

afternoon on a country road when he was

hit heavily buy a car from the back he

fell off the scooter flew through the

windshield of the car and came to a halt

on the back seat

the driver of the car stood on the break

so that we flew from the back seat again

through the windshield and ended lying

on the road except from some bruises he

was unharmed

when the police came both my uncle and

the driver of the car told the same

story which they didn't believe in the

first place

however my uncle had lost a shoe in the

back of the car so finally also the

police got convinced my grandma cut out

the article from the newspaper and it is

still in a frame in her living room 20

something year old male motorcycle vs.

SUV the SUV won we arrived on scene to a

man facedown in a pool of blood 1 liter

we were told he was wearing a helmet but

it was nowhere to be found

he was about 30 feet from his bike and

there was a clear trail of blood to the

bike because he wasn't wearing leathers we

roll him onto the board and that was the

first beating heart I ever saw his Road

Rash was so bad it eroded his chest wall

and we were staring at his heart a

collapsed lung his great vessels and the

branches of the brachial plexus

amazingly they were all intact

of course he had multiple injuries to

his other extremities mandible zygomatic

arches etc but we frankly didn't care at

the time we were on scene for no more

than two minutes before we sped off to

the trauma center

I remember transferring the patient to

the chief of trauma surgery whose first

words when the trauma pad was removed

with holy shit i thought for sure he

died

fast forward two years when I was at my

primary care physicians office for a

check-up after my medical school

interview and saw a collection bin for

veterans wedding

guess who yup it was him they had taken

his left arm too

reconstruct his chest since the nerves

were shot and he recovered

a 92 year old lady with urosepsis

bacterial infection in her blood from

the urinary tract infection her initial

gas had a ph of around six point seven

and a lactate of 12 for the non-medical

peeps that is too acidic and too high

young patients would have a hard time

surviving that let alone the very

elderly she was unconscious but had

received one dose of cipro and

antibiotic my mouth from her family

doctor before becoming altered her

family agreed to a comfort

do-not-resuscitate level of care and

said their goodbyes

the next morning the resident on call

got pages asking if she could eat she

was awake and hungry guess the dose of

cipro kicked in
