What are the three things you're missing
from your new year's resolutions
that you didn't even know you're missing.
Let's talk about it.
Out of everyone that sets new year's resolutions,
only 8 percent actually hit their goals.
98 percent would be ideal in my world.
So how do we do it?
Number one, the biggest reason people fail
is because they're not measuring.
When you measure, you start to rewire your brain,
your left and right hemisphere,
the prefrontal cortex goes into the state of
"I've already hit my goal because I'm measuring it."
"I can see the possibility at the end."
And if you don't have a measurement,
if you don't have a consistent tracking mechanism,
something in place that helps you keep track ,
then you're just gonna fail.
Number two, what are the stakes?
And questions that I ask myself
in setting new year's resolution goals are like these:
"What will happen in my life if I don't, right? If I don't.
Let's say a health one because this is a health channel, right?
How do you set the stakes?
Well, let's say you've gained 10 lbs in the past 2 years.
5 more years, how much more weight are you gonna weigh?
Well, 50-60 lbs? What does that do for your heart?
Cholesterol starts to go up.
We know that most of the ailments,
the diseases that are forming today
are caused by what you're putting in your body.
Not only that, what you're putting in your mind.
So what can you do every single day
after the new year to start to lose weight, right?
What are the stakes?
Number three, you're gonna need some support.
We are human beings.
I was just recently in Thailand and I walked out in the water
and I saw this school of fish.
It almost looked like dark water.
And when I walked into the school of fish, they separated.
And I realized that every single fish in that little school
is attached to one thing - the vagal tone, the vagal nerve.
So it's our vibration, right?
It's our vibe that attracts our tribe.
We need support.
So who's gonna hold you high?
Who's gonna hold you accountable
when you have the stakes in place,
and you have the measurement and the tracking system as well?
Tell that person, tell that group.
If you don't have anybody in your life right now, hire a coach.
Because I believe you can get anything you want in your life.
You have to go for it. You have to measure it.
You have to track it. You have to have that system in place.
And then you have to set the right stakes.
