picture this you're desperately trying to lose weight looking at every
Instagram account trying to find all the right health foods to choke down but the
scale is not going down and you're getting frustrated let me tell you what
you're doing wrong first things first you're scrolling through Instagram for
the 27th time of the day until you come across a meme showing the 20 best fat
burning foods you decide holy shit number 5 is quinoa I should have more of
that so you would decide to cook up an entire box and gag the whole thing down
now you don't feel so hot but your coworker Janice says apple cider vinegar
is proven to burn more fat and why wouldn't you trust her she has no
background in nutrition but she does do CrossFit
at this point you're trying to figure out what's the best exercise for fat loss
and you're torn between Zumba CrossFit hot yoga spin class you don't know what
to choose and that's when you realize you don't gotta exercise you get that body
wrap you'll sweat the fat off once you got the body wrap figured out you make
the ultimate commitment veganism with one big caveat guy on the internet tells
you fruit makes you fat so you want to cut out all fruit instead you get a fat
blasting vegetable juice for $12.99 and a kind bar for a combined total 44 grams
of sugar in 320 calories because nothing's better for fat loss than empty
calories and a ton of sugar by this point you're starting to get pretty
frustrated you were perfect with your nutrition for 36 hours
you were vegan for an entire meal the body wrap didn't work exercise yeah
right now what you go to Google you type in fat burning supplement last ditch
effort we got CLA BCAAs glutamine something called horny goat weed which
one do you get why pick you get them all now I know the voice is really funny but
I want to break down the real reason why no matter how hard you try no matter
what you do no matter what the skinny Instagram model says
you aren't losing fat here's the truth right here you have the exact amount of
food you need to eat or calories that you need to eat to stay the exact same
weight you are right now if you eat under this line less calories you will
lose weight if you eat more you will gain weight and if you would stay right
on the line you stay the exact same the truth is it doesn't matter where the
calories come from whether it's from an apple or a doughnut from a vegan diet
from a low carb diet it's irrelevant more calories will make you gain weight
less calories will make you lose weight this doesn't mean you can eat whatever
you want all the time and have a diet full of pop-tarts and pizza and still be
healthy fat loss and health are two different terms what this does mean is
that you can eat a diet overall 80 to 90 percent healthy and have an occasional
treat Pizza pop-tarts wherever you want and still lose weight as long as you're
eating less calories than you need now what I'm going to do in the first
comment of this post whether it's on Instagram or Facebook or on YouTube as
well I'm going to put a link to an article that I wrote that will outline
exactly how you find the amount of calories you need to eat in order to
lose fat if you follow that consistently over time not for a day or a week or a
month but for months and months and months you will lose fat and you will
improve your body composition and you don't have to worry about going on
Instagram and finding the fat burning food or the best supplement - the truth
is there is no fat burning food there is no best supplement there is no best
exercise there are total calories and there are being consistent with your
training and your nutrition and if you can be consistent you'll win
