Waching daily Feb 3 2019

It's looat chile zero degrees there is ice on things today

I wanted to talk about cutting versus bulking which one should you do first cut or should you?

Oh cut is if you predominantly want to lose some fat whilst preserving muscle and bulk is

Whether you want to gain muscle and minimize the amount of fat that you gain two, very desirable

Both of my hands cannot actually I did comment the other day that looks like you just can't control your hands

Can you and the truth is no, no, I cannot control my hands. Both of those things are very desirable

Should you predominantly put on muscle first or should you lose fat fast? Like which one should you do?

I think this area is quite subjective

So what I want to give you is more like the general principles and the ideas that's gonna make it more sustainable

For you and it's gonna make it enjoyable. So I think those are likely important things so long as you're maintaining your health

So your hormones are all good, and you're not putting yourself at any risk of?

Cardiovascular disease by putting on too much fat and you're also not putting yourself at risk of under fueling yourself to the point

Where you become ill because you've impaired your immune system and other such things that come about with lack of nutrition

But yeah, what about which approach you should do first?

So if you liked this video make sure to give me a big thumbs up

Hit the subscribe button and we'll get straight into talking which one

You should do first cut and Bowl are basically like terms that predominantly come from bodybuilding

I don't really do any bodybuilding but it's kind of times that are quite familiar with people and they're catchy like cut and bolt

They're catchy words

So I think that's why most people kind of understand them

They are just words to kind of highlight a certain approach

Like should you predominantly put on muscle first or should you lose fat first like which one should you do?

So when I started I was kind of underway, but I wanted to build some muscle so I actually started

Passing with a bulk and then I started building muscle and I started eating more so that I could sustain weight training and help me

Increase my muscle size and the thing is like my beer mine wasn't even that low

My BMI was 20

But for me, my BMI being 20 is still very low like it's not where I'm healthy

It's not where my body wants to be. It's not where I function best

So I definitely needed it all the way and I knew that so I needed to increase my muscle mass. I need a bulk

I needed to build some muscle

Since I followed by steps getting a little bit well, I don't really train my biceps anymore

And then I went through series of cutting and I think the importance is just doing it in a way

that is healthy and sustainable and

Has a much more long-term approach. I've done it where I've gone like way too extreme either way

And then my body just ends up in a big like confusion. Give the body a little bit of time. So it's like, okay

We're building some muscle. I can do that. Let's build some muscle and then it works with you rather than just being like

No, you were doing your own thing here. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna step out and sometimes

sometimes I'm gonna wife against you so I think

It's more about like what your starting point is

If you're severely underweight then I would recommend seeing a specialist to help you get on track and sort your nutrition out

There might be like an underlying issue right need a dressing first before you go out go about with any changes like this

but if you are a little bit underweight and your body fat percentage is low and then I would recommend kind of

Starting a mobile bulk approach you're starting to increase your muscle mass students from hypertrophy training and that's gonna help you build

Muscle and on top of that in order to help you build muscle. You're going to be eating a calorie surplus

should you bulk or cut for lean physique

Again, I don't think it's necessary to go out like massively overboard and I think it's still important to have like a balanced diet

So it balanced varied diet when you're getting in your carbohydrates

Your proteins your essential fats and your micronutrients and there are studies

Protein pulsing having something like Noor 25 grams per kilogram of body weight

five to six times a day can really help with muscle recovery and making sure that all of that protein is getting

Assimilated because you'll be in a surplus so you will be gaining a little bit of fat and that's just inevitable

It's more about looking at things in the long time

like if you want to build muscle

You're gonna have to sacrifice something for a little bit

and

So even though you might not like how you look for a little bit of time in the long run

You will have built that muscle and even I'd say if you're like in a normal

Weight category and you've got a normal body fat percentage

I would also encourage you to start putting on muscle and if you're really not sure about how many calories you need

I always feel like

Macronutrient calculator is a great way to start because you kind of input all of your details all of your training details

Or your weight is your height your age and things like that and it will tell you like how much you need

So if you're underweight or you're kind of a normal way, I would suggest putting on some muscle

It also means that if you're in that state and you've built some muscle then when you're cutting it's a lot easier because your training

Will be more intense because you've got more muscles. So every time you do physical activity, the energy expenditure will go up

It also means that you'll be increasing your basal metabolic rate. So actually as you build muscle your metabolism increases

So it but if you did the universe and you went into cutting straightaway

Then you won't have that muscle to kind of increase your basal metabolic rate, or to increase the energy expenditure during training sessions

So I think it is important to build muscle first rather than cut first

because their risk with cutting first if you don't have that much fat to lose is that you will lower your

Metabolism and if it will just it will feel a little tough cutting if you're underweight

I wouldn't really recommend it

If you have a BMI of 18 or lower

I wouldn't recommend cutting if you have any issues around eating

Like any disordered eating or negative emotions around food then again?

I wouldn't recommend cutting if you are overweight then I'll

Recommend cutting first purely because you're reducing your risk of any kind of cardiovascular

Disease and any other diseases that are associated with having a very high body fat percentage again

I would cut in a sensible manner. So don't restrict your calories more than ten percent

But then predominantly focusing on physical activity and doing like smart training

So why metric training where you're being really really explosive about doing that?

It's about also doing some resistance training so that you maintain your muscle because it's all good. Like losing a little bit of fat

But you also want to try to preserve as much muscle as possible

and so that you don't completely lower your metabolism having more tissue that is

Metabolically active and can really help them. Just kind of also helping to burn calories

Post-workout so I think it is really important to do weight training even when you're in a cup

should you bulk or cut for lean physique

give it a little bit of time like our bodies do take about four to five weeks to really see any kind of differences and

Even those differences will be quite small so very much

It has like a long-term thing and for me, I always think that if it's long time

It's gonna last a lot longer your results are gonna last a lot longer the phases of cutting and bulking can change like some people

Do them for two to three months?

some people do them for a lot longer like six months or sometimes even longer if they're falling and they just really

They don't care about whether or not they can see they're out

They just want to keep gaining muscle then they'll bulk for even longer

But typically you would bulk for a couple of months three four months

Maybe then you would cut then you can actually see the muscle that you've built you can kind of reassess and be like, okay

I need to work born this bulk again cut again, see whether you'll happy with it

and then it's kind of one of those things where you just

If like you're choosing something then you add some old back in then you chisel it away again

and you mold it back in and you're like

okay now I think I've achieved something and now I can just kind of maintain but you've built a good amount of muscle and a

Sustainable amount of fat then

It's a good place where you can start to maintain and I feel like that's where I'm at now like I've got to this day

I built the muscle I want to build and not that interested in building more muscle

Of course, I like to get strong a bit. Typically that doesn't really impact muscle size. That's more like adapting the nervous system. I

Hope this video kind of

Highlighted which one would be better for you. So it really depends on your starting point

it's very very dependent on your situation or what you feel comfortable with and

Everything is your toys you guys get to choose. There's always your having like the balanced varied diet

You're getting all of your nutrients in your content. You're not cutting anything out drastically and you're being sensible about it

Then you will see the results if you're interested in training for hypertrophy

Then I have some videos from last year that I did

I also have a cup guide if you're interested in cutting and you need like a mold programmed approach

I hope that covers everything. I hope you found this video helpful

Thank you so much for watching. If you did like it, give me a big thumbs up

Hit the subscribe button, and I'll see you guys next time

I'm actually in Kenya as we speak, but I filmed this in UK

But the next video will being so I'll see you guys in Kenya. Bye

FOX TV - How can you find the best funds to invest in? The Prudent Investor: - Duration: 10:05.

As DIY investors it's vital to do plenty of research — so it's not surprising many of you have asked me how to find the best information on investment funds

I use three main sources.First, there are the fund platforms — where we buy and hold investments

Many have lists of recommended funds. City watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has published research that found overall recommended funds outperform non-recommended ones by 0

6 per cent a year. City watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has published research that found overall recommended funds outperform non-recommended ones by 0

6 per cent a yearSo, if you invested £10,000 for 20 years and it grew by 6 per cent you would have £32,071, but at 6

6 per cent you would have £35,904.The FCA adds that investors choosing funds not affiliated to the platform seem 'well-served'

Secondly, the fund managers' websites allow you to take a good look at what a fund holds, its objectives and who runs it

But my favourite source is ratings website Morningstar where you can usually find independent comment and analysis alongside long-term performance figures

But many of us prefer to make our own investment decisions.FCA figures from last year suggested platforms interacting with customers directly were administering £189 billion in funds

That same report — the Investment Platforms Market Study — said about 17 per cent of us rely on the platforms' recommended fund lists

Another 17 per cent simply choose their ready-made portfolios. Where I look for fund recommendationsI'm not keen on ready-made portfolios

Tick certain boxes and you're shunted down a route which may not suit you at all

The FCA has warned that it can be 'difficult for consumers to understand what model portfolios' objectives are and whether they match consumers' risk appetite and tolerance'

If, like me, you'd rather choose your own funds then those platforms' recommendations can whittle down the world of more than 2,000 to less than 100

Some recommend in-house funds. They may be decent — but take extra caution. Fidelity has too many of its own for my taste

Fund recommendations I regularly consider are Bestinvest, which has just updated its list of 83, AJ Bell, with 88, Hargreaves Lansdown with its trimmed-down list of 63 and Fidelity Personal Investing with 50

Like Hargreaves, Bestinvest has concentrated on a smaller number of funds in which it says it has the highest conviction

Closer analysis of these lists reveals how little agreement there is. In the end these recommendations come down to the judgment of a small group of people embedded in the investment business

They'll have looked at performance and hopefully met the managers and analysed the assets held by each recommended fund

But no matter how much data they have and how many interviews they have, there will in the end be an element of subjectivity — just as there will be in your final decision

On ratings website Morningstar where you can usually find independent comment and analysis alongside long-term performance figuresWhich funds make more than one list? Say you're looking for a decent UK fund, you'll find Lindsell Train UK Equity listed by three platforms but missing from AJ Bell Youinvest's list

Jo Hambro UK Dynamic makes three lists but not Hargreaves Lansdown's.Want some income? Then in the UK Equity Income sector Threadneedle UK Equity Income is popular — with everyone except Fidelity

Investing worldwide, there's even less agreement. AJ Bell has 15 suggestions and Hargreaves six, but they only agree on one fund: Newton Global Income

Some platforms take a tack on the model portfolio approach. Charles Stanley carries a selection of Foundation portfolios based on 60 to 70 funds giving a choice of income, growth or income and growth, then asking whether you're cautious, balanced or adventurous

You might not want to follow the whole portfolio but you do get a list of funds to investigate

And it helpfully shows how your assets will be split by sector and region if you follow their choices

Alliance Trust Savings shows the top 20 funds bought by its investors in the past month

You may regard this as a 'Don't buy' list, depending on your attitude. Some guidance from Jason Hollands of Bestinvest: 'Before selecting investments, I would urge investors to review their existing portfolios to identify how much exposure they have to different asset classes and markets and if this is the right mix given their goals and risk level

'Even an originally well-planned portfolio will drift over time, so a cautious portfolio can become a much more riskier one over time, unless reviewed periodically

'And don't forget it's your money and by choosing your own investments you are taking the risk

Did you see Denis Suarez's face as he returned to Man City ahead of Arsenal debut? - Duration: 2:23.

Denis Suarez may have been pleased to return to Manchester City, but the new Arsenal signing certainly wasn't showing it as he arrived at the Etihad

Suarez, who has joined the Gunners on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season, was a picture of concentration as he made his way into the stadium

The Spaniard spent two years at City without making a Premier League appearance and looked determined to show what his old club are missing out on

Suarez was pictured walking towards the changing rooms alongside Stephan Lichtsteiner, with neither player showing a hint of a grin ahead of the crunch clash with Pep Guardiola's side

The 25-year-old's expression may also have been influenced by the fact that his Arsenal debut would have to wait, with Unai Emery only naming the midfielder on the bench

However, Suarez had been in high spirits during training earlier in the week with the Spain international already making friends with Lucas Torreira

He was initially put through his paces in a private session with fitness coach Julen Massach on deadline day

Suarez then joined up with his new team-mates on Friday as the Gunners battled freezing conditions at London Colney

The Barcelona ace was all smiles during training but definitely had his game face on when arriving at his old club

Emery rates Suarez from their time together at Sevilla in 2014/15, with the Arsenal manager praising his new signing's versatility

When asked about the new arrival in his pre-match press conference, the Gunners boss said: "I think he is good, he adapts quickly and he is a player with quality

"He can play right, left, he can play inside like a No 10 player. I will use him in all positions

WHEEL LOADER ON BOARD WEIGHING SCALE | SMART MOBILE CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT TUTORIAL+TEST VEI HELPERX - Duration: 5:22.

Hi I'm Carl the Landscape Guy with a video for the mobile weighing of materials.

Many of the materials that we need on the job are being ordered and charged by weight.

Whether it's gravel, soil, substrate or mulch, weight always plays a role.

Many companies have their own storage area, where the most used materials are stored and

loaded for construction sites or for customers.

This makes it difficult to keep track of which materials went to which construction.

Today we have the opportunity to test a Komatsu WA100 wheel loader with a mobile scale.

I will first go over some functions of the scale and then we'll drive this thing around

and test it.

The scale has wifi, so if your storage space is equipped with wifi, the scale can always

access data online.

If you want to use the loader on different construction sites, you won't have wifi obviously.

But an additional data SIM card module can be provided with the scale.

This way, for example, construction data can be received anywhere.

You can print weighing receipts in the loader on the spot.

For operation, the wheel loader must first be started.

Then turn on the scale and printer.

Before weighing, the scale needs to be zeroed out by lifting the empty bucket and holding

the > 0 < for a second and then you're ready to go.

Before loading, the material must be selected.

Pressing F3 opens the material list.

Now I'm selecting the material with the arrow and OK buttons.

Then the vehicle that's to be loaded should be selected under F4.

Now we can start loading.

Weighing is performed automatically by the system when lifting the loaded bucket.

The scale adds all buckets one by one until the "Print" button is pressed.

Before you select the right construction number, the paper must first be put into the printer.

Because the printer is open at the side, you can also pre-print your own paper in different

sizes.

Selecting the right job or customer number with F2 ensures that the material is correctly

assigned to the customer or account.

After confirming, the printing process starts automatically.

You can always refill the paper and repeat the printing process.

I use the carbonless copy paper, so the weigher, driver and the guy on the jobsite can each

receive a copy for their office.

Now the weighing is successfully carried out and documented.

If data for construction sites, materials or vehicles in the scale need to be updated,

this can be done over the Internet.

For this, the data can be entered into the database with any PC over the provided online

access.

Then the scale can connect to its online database and download the new data.

That is done over the menu and the F4 button.

If weighings are still active in the background, these must be ended first.

After the quick download you can go back to weighing.

I was able to test the scale under real conditions for some time and I have to say that I got

used to the operation quickly and the scale works mostly independently.

I would say the device is particularly suitable for companies who load different types of

bulk materials every day.

As a site manager, I have used this wheel loader on my construction sites a few times

and I find it particularly helpful that lost paper receipts can be reprinted from the online

platform at the office.

Therefore, I often had a better overview and was able to write bills in a timely manner.

This video was created with the kind support of Balzer Landscaping in Germany.

I hope it was interesting and helpful for you.

I wish you a nice day and until next time, I'm Carl the Landscape Guy.

What is Ethos? - Duration: 8:53.

- The question is, what is ethos?

And what application does it have

for our public speaking skills?

We're going to answer those questions

in this video.

(intense music)

Hello there friends and welcome back.

If this is our first time meeting,

I'm Alex Lyon and this channel

is called Communication Coach.

We help emerging leaders

with their communication skills.

And we're doing a three part series

on ethos, pathos and logos.

So, watch out for those other videos.

In this video, we're tackling the concept

of ethos and how you can use it

to help become a more persuasive and

influential public speaker.

It's not just an academic concept.

It has practical applications.

And be sure to stick around to the end of the video,

I want to recommend a couple of resources

for you if you want to improve your public speaking.

So, first of all, I want to say

about this term, ethos,

that it does not really mean ethics.

It looks like it.

It sounds like it.

But the word ethics is an oversimplified

definition of what the word ethos means.

It means a whole lot more than that.

Ethos is one way, we persuade listeners.

Ethos is about whether or not we are

appealing to listener's sense of trust.

Their desire to listen to a credible speaker.

Ethos describes then whether or not

a speaker is inspiring an audience

to trust and believe in him or her.

So, really ethos is about the credibility,

the perceived credibility of the speaker

and whether or not the listener's believe that speaker.

And it has to do with a whole lot more

than just ethics.

In fact, we are more likely to be persuaded

by a speaker if we find them credible.

So, really this is an appeal,

a persuasive appeal to your listeners.

It's not simply about whether or not

you're an honest person.

Although that is part of it, as we will see.

So, in terms of breaking this down,

I am going to follow James McCroskey's lead.

He worked for a long time,

for decades on the concept of ethos and credibility.

I think credibility, if you boil it down

is really the best way to define this,

whether or not you find the speaker believable.

And McCroskey talked about three key dimensions

of credibility, that will impact.

As you'll see, you can use these

as a speaker right away.

The first dimension of credibility

is called competence.

The audience is asking themselves,

is the speaker knowledgeable?

And do they have the right background and expertise

on the topic they are speaking about?

Can I believe the speaker on this topic?

That's part of credibility.

And you can establish your competence

in a number of ways, but you make sure,

the first way is to make sure you're talking

about a topic that you know about,

that you are experienced with,

that you have education and a background on.

That's the number one way.

So, stick to topics, that you know about

when you're speaking.

For example, if, tell me

if you would have a problem with this,

if you were married and you went to

marriage class and you find out there is a speaker,

has never been married,

there would be a credibility gap there.

So, you have to speak as a speaker

about what you know.

That's one of the best ways you can do that.

Now, in terms of how to do this

during a presentation,

there are a number of ways that you can show

that you have competence. One of the ways you can do it is

in how you introduce yourself.

You are telling your audience

a little bit about your background,

probably in your introduction and you want

to mention relevant aspects of your

education, experience and background

that relate to that particular topic

and that connect to that particular audience.

How often, we'll have someone introduce me,

let's say, I am going to do a workshop

or speak somewhere.

And they give them a card with some bullet points

on it, so when they introduce me,

they hit on some of the topics

that will answer the question of competence.

Some people talk about the way you dress

and the way you come across visually

and I think that has an impact

on whether or not you come across as competent.

I don't think it's going to make a key difference

but if you dress well,

then people won't be distracted by it.

And if you dress really sloppy, they will.

So, you want to make sure your

dress is appropriate for the situations,

so that you look the part, so to speak.

The next dimension of credibility is character.

The audience does want to know if you are trustworthy.

Can I trust what this person is saying?

Do they have good character?

And the way you establish that is by being honest

and by sharing good information that's true.

Another way is by not stretching the truth

about any of your information or statistics.

And you also want to be transparent

about who you are.

And so, I think, in your presentations,

one of the tips, that you can do

is to practice,

is share a little bit about who you are

and what your background is

that's a little on the personal side

like what are you all about?

Be open, in other words about who you are.

That will let them in to trust you a little bit more,

that transparency.

You never want to come across

as if you have some weird, hidden agenda

something that is off to the side

and you're not really telling people

exactly what's going on.

I actually had an issue once with my trustworthiness.

It was quite an embarrassing moment.

In fact, there is a statistic,

that I have shared in many presentations

over the years, but on this particular day,

I forgot to cite my source.

And I guess the way that I threw it out there

seemed too casual.

So, when I looked at the evaluations later,

someone marked me down for that and said,

"The speaker just shouldn't throw statistics out there.

You know, we're never going to believe that."

It was really a learning experience for me

that I have to be open and transparent

in a lot of ways, so I come across as trustworthy.

And one of the ways is to

really cite my sources accurately and fully.

And I have done that ever since then, by the way.

So, make sure that you demonstrate trustworthiness.

The third dimension of credibility

according to McCroskey is caring.

You have to demonstrate goodwill toward your audience.

So, they want to know if you care about people.

If you're going to treat people well,

in a friendly and respectful way.

If you're condescending in contrast,

if you talk down to your listeners,

they're going to be put off by that.

They're not going to want to hear

what you have to say if you're not treating people well.

And this also goes for how you're treating

the people around the presentations.

Sometimes there might be a helper,

like an administrative person who's helping

or someone who's helping with the equipment.

And your listener's are going to watch

how you interact with those people, as well,

and see and determine if you're a caring person,

if you have goodwill toward people.

And I saw a movie scene in Iron Man 2,

where there's a guy who's speaking.

His name is Justin Hammer and he is a bad character

in this movie.

He's not a good guy.

But when he's presenting,

he's all smiles and he's all show,

but then as some people are helping him move

the podium, he says under his breath to them,

"Get that thing out of here."

And it's like this moment where you realize,

oh he's not credible.

He's has bad ethos.

He treats people poorly, even though

he is faking that he is a good guy.

So, if you can demonstrate competence

and character and caring,

then you will come across as someone

with good credibility, good ethos.

Those are really the key components

of how to come across with good ethos.

And how to convince people

that you are a trustworthy source and

they don't have questions about it.

So, the key takeaways are one,

speak about what you know and

stick to that area of expertise.

Number two, be open about who you are,

so that people can see your character.

And third, treat people well,

so they can see your goodwill.
