Waching daily Feb 3 2019

What's up guys!

Carlo Macapinlac here from NewbieFitnessAcademy.com.

I help busy professionals look good shirtless so they can feel more confident and get the

most out of their lives.

And in this video, I'm gonna show you how to do a 24 hour fasting for weight loss and

what kind of results you should expect.

If you're new to the channel, make sure you hit that subscribe button to get notified

every time I post a new video every week.

Alright, let's dive in.

Okay, there are many reasons why you should do 24 hour intermittent fasting and I talk

about this more in detail in my other videos but here are some 24 hour fast benefits:

It decreases triglyceride levels and inflammation, decreasing your risk of heart disease and

metabolic syndrome You get better blood sugar and insulin regulation

It's muscle sparring, it increases your metabolism and growth hormones

It increases mental clarity and overall health And lastly, you lose weight.

A lot of weight.

And I always say that weight loss might be the least impressive benefit of taking a break

from eating when you see all the other improvements in your bio markers.

So, a 24 hour fast results typically lasts from dinner to dinner.

At least that's the most popular way of doing it for a lot of people.

For example, if you eat dinner at let's say 7 pm, you 24 hour fast until the next

day until 7 pm.

You don't technically go a full day without eating which is nice.

This method of 24 hour intermittent fasting has several important advantages compared

to a shorter fast.

First, as a longer fast, it tends to be a little more effective.

I usually recommend a 16 hour fast as the bare minimum because most of the benefits

of fasting happens after that 16 hour mark.

Also, because you still eat every day, medications that need to be taken with food can still

be taken.

Another advantage of a 24 hour intermittent fasting is that it's easily incorporated

into everyday life.

Most people, for example will eat dinner with their family every day.

Right?

Dinner is also the time when people go out and socialize.

So how would this look on a typical 9-5 workday?

Well, when you wake up, you can start the day off with a cup of coffee or tea.

Most people actually aren't hungry when they wake up.

It's just been ingrained in our heads through brilliant food advertising that you have to

eat first thing in the morning.

You don't.

You can work through lunch and maybe have another cup of coffee around that time or

you can use your lunch time as an opportunity to workout.

Then you finish work, maybe run some errands, then you get home and break your fast when

you eat dinner with your family.

If your goal is to lose weight, in my one-on-one coaching program, the Lean Body System, I'll

usually recommend this schedule of 24 hour fasting for weight loss to be done twice a

week.

A lot of people find it so simple they'll often do it three or four times per week,

and sometimes every day.

This is often referred to as the one meal a day results or OMAD results for short.

If you wanna know more about doing OMAD diet, i'm gonna put a link to one of my videos

somewhere at the top here.

Okay, it's one thing to talk about a 24 hour fast results but it's another thing

to actually do it.

So here's what a typical day of doing a 24 hr fasting results looks like for me.

Okay, here's my food diary if you wanna know exactly what I'm eating.

And if we look at the macronutrient composition of this meal, it's 73% fat, 21% protein,

and 6% carbs.

It's a ketogenic meal.

It allows my body to stay in ketosis which means that my body stays in fat burning mode.

And if you're trying to lose weight, that's exactly what you want.

I'm gonna put a link somewhere at the top here if you wanna know more about the benefits

of combining intermittent fasting and the keto diet.

Okay, overall I lost 2 lbs in a span of 24 hour fast.

And I don't have a lot of weight to lose.

Which means that your weight loss numbers could even be higher.

Okay, here are five tips to set you up for success when you do a 24 hour fasting for

weight loss:

Water is your best friend.

This kinda goes without saying but if you're going without food for most of the day, then

you need to stay hydrated Salt is your other friend.

Add a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt to a glass of water to keep your electrolytes

in balance.

This prevents dehydration and headaches.

Drink black coffee.

Coffee is a powerful appetite suppressant so it's literally the perfect drink when

you fast.

If you don't like coffee, you can drink tea or basically anything that's zero calories

like soda water.

Stay busy.

You only get hungry when you think about food.

Boredom is your enemy when you're fasting.

As you can see from my day, it's jam packed with activities.

Try to keep yourself occupied especially during times when you would normally eat.

Control your environment.

This goes without saying but don't torture yourself by spending time in environments

where there's food around you.

Stay away from restaurants, the kitchen, and people eating food next to you.

Eat enough food.

Once you break your fast, you need to eat to satiation.

You don't need to diet on top of your 24 fast.

Listen, will you get hungry during your 24 hour fasting for weight loss?

Absolutely.

If you're new to fasting, it's perfectly normal.

But you're not gonna die.

90% of your struggles when you fast will take place in your head.

I think that's the other underrated benefits of fasting in that it really changes your

relationship with food.

So many people are addicted to eating.

But if you stick to 24 hour intermittent fasting and really give it some time to work it's

magic, the results are absolutely worth it.

It can be downright life changing.

Now if you're someone who's being struggling with your weight loss efforts for years, you

know, you've tried every diet under the sun, you've cut the calories, you workout

every day but you just can't seem to lose weight?

Or maybe you're feeling stuck because you've hit a weight loss plateau and you can't

seem to get out of it, you feel like life is just passing you by and you're missing

out on opportunities, and you realize that it's time to get one-on-one professional

What Do You Need To Run For President of the United States? - Duration: 7:38.

Think you got what it takes to run for President of the most powerful nation on earth?

Well, you probably do seeing as that bar has been historically set pretty low at times,

and with 2020 around the corner people around America are even now beginning to consider

their candidacy for the highest office in the land.

But just how does one get into the oval office and a chance to push the biggest, reddest

button in the world?

For starters you're going to need to make sure that you even qualify for the job, and

that means being a natural-born citizen of the United States- with 37,000,000 million

immigrants in the US that's going to knock out a sizable chunk of the competition.

Next you have to be at least 35 years old, which is bad news for Saira Blair of West

Virginia, who at 18 was the youngest person ever elected to state or federal office in

the United States.

Also not qualifying is James Tufts, who was 3 years old in 2012 when he was elected mayor

of the town of Dorset, a town with a population of 22.

Next you'll have to have made sure that you were a resident of the United States for at

least 14 years- so if you were born in the US as a natural citizen but took off to live

abroad, no dice for you.

We suppose the founding fathers thought that it might be dangerous to elect a President

who was heavily influenced by a foreign, potentially hostile, nation.

Be 35 or older, a 14 year resident, and a natural born citizen.

Meet those standards and you are free to declare your candidacy for president at any time,

although once you receive campaign contributions up to, or spend more than $5,000 you must

register with the Federal Election Commission- that's the agency that we in the US trust

to enforce campaign finance law and that helps keep foreign money out of our political system

so that candidates aren't compromised.

Of course it would be easier to simply make elections federally funded to ensure no funny

business, but think about all those poor lobbyists who'd be out of a job.

Next stop on your road to presidency is your state primary and caucuses.

Both help to narrow the pool of candidates from each political party.

A caucus and a primary works much the same way, a group of voters each cast their vote

for a nominee- however caucuses are limited to the parties voters are registered for only,

while some primaries, known as open primaries, allow a voter of any political party to vote

for the nominee they like best- however a voter cannot go to their car, put on a disguise,

and then vote in a second primary for another political party, that would be voter fraud.

Leading up to the primaries or caucuses though you're going to want to be on the road every

single day, you want to make sure your message reaches as many people as possible so you

can drum up as much support as possible.

You're also going to need funds to run campaign ads and finance your election team.

In a common sense system those funds would come from a federal election pool to ensure

candidates weren't compromised by lobbyists and to ensure a true democracy where poor

candidates weren't disadvantaged by richer candidates.

Instead though candidates are free to beg, scrape, borrow, and promise any amount of

favors and influence should they win the White House in exchange for cold, hard cash now.

So you're going to be putting in a lot of footwork as you move from fundraiser to fundraiser

and take meetings with special interest group after special interest group!

Remember to always be flexible with your principles, or just outright discard them!

All the while you're shaking babies and kissing hands- or is it the other way around... you'll

want to make sure your campaign manager finds out asap- you're going to be keeping your

eye on your political party's national convention.

That's the superbowl of party politics, and though a clear frontrunner is typically identified

early on, sometimes the national convention serves to confirm a single nominee.

At each convention- Republican and Democratic- there are a group of delegates which must

be swayed over to your side if you want a chance at your party's nomination.

These delegates are split into two main groups: pledged, or bound delegates are required to

support the candidate that the people gave the most votes to during their party's primaries

and caucuses.

Unpledged, or unbound delegates, or also known as superdelegates, are free to completely

ignore democracy and the people's votes both and simply vote as they see fit.

How do superdelegates fit into a democratic system?

They don't, are an affront to the very idea of democracy, and should be abolished immediately,

but we'll go ahead and tell you anyways:

In 1972 Democratic Senator George McGovern won the overwhelming support of Democratic

voters, but in the national election faced Senator Edmund Muskie who was the favorite

of the Democratic Party establishment.

McGovern however was so beloved by Democrats that he completely trounced Muskie, and thus

won the party nomination- only to go up against President Nixon in the general election and

give the Democrats one of their most humiliating defeats in history.

In the final vote, Democrats won only Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

Incensed and determined to never suffer such an overwhelming defeat, the leaders of the

Democratic party established a VIP category of delegates who would vote however they saw

fit, completely ignoring the wishes of the voters.

These superdelegates wouldn't even have to be voted into their positions, they would

simply be appointed by senior party leaders and end up making up 30% of the total delegate

count- ensuring some measure of control over who wins the nomination and that democracy

would be in no way served.

Though Republicans also make use of superdelegates, theirs are limited to only three per state

and obliged to vote for their state's popular vote winner.

To have a chance of winning your party's nomination at the national convention, you're going to

want to tow the party line and make sure you please as many delegates as possible.

However if no nominee has their party's majority of delegates going into the convention, this

can result in a brokered or contested convention, where delegates must vote for their candidates-

pledged delegates must vote for the candidate they are pledged to, but after the first round

of voting are free to choose any candidate if their candidate doesn't make it past the

first round.

The two national conventions are pretty much modern Thunderdomes- many men, and sometimes

women, enter, but only one will exit victorious.

Now you're ready for prime time- the general election.

This is the big show, and where every single embarrassing secret, gaff, mistake, and poor-taste

tweet you have ever posted will be put on full public display.

If the national conventions are thunderdomes, the general election is a 1 on 1 no-holds-barred

deathmatch, and at stake is the ultimate prize: presidency of the United States.

But it's not as easy as simply campaigning, talking to people, and spreading your message-

you're going to have to be strategic about your time and money.

That's because both are limited, and because the Presidency is not actually decided by

individual votes, but rather by a process known as the electoral college.

The electoral college is an institution held over from an early compromise made by the

founding fathers.

While most supported a popular vote election, many- most of whom already held some form

of political power- insisted that while they would grudgingly allow the peasants to vote

for each party's presidential nominees, a bunch of 'normals' surely couldn't be

trusted to vote for the actual president- that'd be preposterous!

Thus they believed that only the US Congress should vote for President, in a kinda-sorta-not-really

democratic way.

With a brand new nation already on the verge of collapse and England gleefully waiting

for a chance to strike should it, the founding fathers came to a compromise- the President

would be elected by an electoral college, with each state receiving a number of electors

based on how many members of Congress that state has, and with absolutely no constitutional

obligation to even vote for the person who won their state's popular vote!

US territories on the other hand would pay taxes but mind their own business and receive

no electors, how the founding fathers missed that bit of irony given the cause of their

recent rebellion is beyond us.

So with your money and time running out, you're going to want to prioritize which states you

actually campaign in- aiming for all the states that have the highest number of electors.

States with few electors, or those that polls show are heavily made up of the opposing political

party, are going to be very low priorities for you.

Come election day all your hard work is going to pay off, and the electoral college will

do its job by ignoring the votes cast by the people and deciding for themselves who gets

to be president!

Would you ever run for president?

Is the electoral college and superdelegates truly democratic?

The Struggles of Getting Therapy while Deaf ft Rikki Poynter - Duration: 17:51.

CHRIS BOUTTÉ: I've had a lot and I mean a lot of you asked me

to make some videos about dealing with mental health issues

as well as a disability.

So, that's why in this video I brought along a very special guest.

What is up, everybody?

This is Chris from 'The Rewired Soul'

where we talk about the problem but focus on the solution

and if you're new to my channel,

my channel is all about mental health

and what I like to do, typically, is pull different topics

from the YouTube community

to try to teach you how to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.

Something else I like to do is get other YouTubers onto my channel

to discuss different mental health topics.

So, if you're into that,

make sure you subscribe and ring that notification bell.

So yes, I have brought on the wonderful, the amazing Rikki Poynter.

Alright, so before I pass, before I pass the mic onto her,

just a quick story, when I first started this channel,

I did a lot of research.

I wanted to see who else out there was talking about mental health, right?

And I actually came across Rikki's channel

and I had like... probably less than 100 subscribers when I first found her

and I was like, this is really cool,

you know, because she talks about a wide range of topics and all that.

So, recently, within the last month or two, I saw Rikki,

I can't remember if she, like, tagged me in a tweet

or commented on one of my videos, well, I'm like,

Oh snap, that's Rikki Poynter. I was like, "I know her!"

So, we started chatting and then we started talking on Twitter

and I was like, "OK, cool. Yeah, let's do a collab".

I actually did a video over on Rikki's channel

that will be linked at the end of this video and in the info card.

And I made a video for her channel talking about dealing with,

you know, the feeling of being alone, like nobody understands.

So, make sure that you go check that out over on her channel

and subscribe while you're at it.

So, personally, I always try to add captions in all of my videos.

I'm trying to do a better job of it too, like just so you guys know

when you guys support the channel,

even if it's just by watching my videos

or when you're like, you know, buying my books

or you're supporting the channel over on Patreon.

I'm trying to get, you know, captions paid for now

because typically I use the auto-generated YouTube ones.

I go in there, edit it a little bit but I don't spend a ton of time.

So, what I've actually been doing

with some of the money that I'm making from the channel

is paying for captions

because I know a lot of you appreciate that.

I know some of you who are deaf, like, you appreciate that.

So, I'm really trying my best to caption more videos.

By the way, if anybody watching this,

if you're interested in captioning videos,

let me know down in the comments below

or if you want to translate them into other languages,

whatever it is because mental health is a global issue.

But anyways, I'll shut up about that.

But Rikki, like, I'm glad I'm doing this collab

because she works with a company who actually captions videos.

So, this video is going to be fully captioned,

but I wanted to bring her on because she is deaf,

she's been struggling with it pretty much her whole life,

and she wants to talk about, you know,

the struggles of getting mental health help

when you are deaf or disabled, alright?

Anyways, I'll shut my mouth now and here is Rikki Poynter.

RIKKI POYNTER: Hello. My name is Rikki.

As you probably already know because I've likely already been introduced.

This is my cat, Libby,

and I don't know how long she's gonna be here,

but she decided to say "Hi" for once, in a video.

I guess because this is a special occasion.

I am a YouTuber who is deaf, have chronic pain and fatigue,

and on my channel, I talk about deaf awareness,

disability-related things, mental health, etc, etc.

And on the occasion, you might see my deaf demon, Bob, come out

because at the age of 11,

I was possessed by a deaf demon named 'Bob',

and I'm just kidding, that is a joke that we have on the channel.

That just gives you an example of what goes on over there.

So, I want to thank Chris very much for allowing me to come on his channel

and talk about being deaf and the lack of mental health resources,

more specifically therapy.

Just to kind of make this a somewhat shorter video.

I very much appreciate the fact that Chris is letting an actual deaf person

talk about this sort of thing and... hello.

So, I have been depressed for a very, very long time.

I grew up dealing with child abuse and just loneliness in general

because if you look at the statistic,

a lot of deaf kids are, you know,

most of us are born to hearing families and a lot of the times

we don't get access to a deaf community, to deaf culture, ASL, etc, etc

and it can get very isolating.

Not only that, but there were just other things

that were really not deaf-related

that contributed to my mental health issues.

I also have a lot of anger management problems.

So after many, many years of trying to deal with it,

I started dealing with it in a way by talking about it on YouTube

and then eventually I was thinking,

"Man, I really should start therapy in some way, shape or form".

But the thing is, it's very difficult to find proper therapy.

One of the main reasons is just the fact that

there's not really a whole lot of accessibility in the therapy world.

So, yes, I speak English.

I was... I grew up mainstreamed,

which means that I grew up in a public education.

I grew up speaking English, which is why I sound so great,

you know, speaking English.

I've been speaking it since I was three or four

when I had better hearing back then, right?

But the thing is, despite the fact that I can speak English pretty well,

I can't understand it very well and I can't hear it very well.

So, trying to find somebody that will provide that sort of accommodation

is very difficult.

Now, I didn't know ASL growing up.

However, I have started learning it a few years ago

and while I can get a pretty good, you know, basic conversation

and I have a feeling that trying to find someone fluent in ASL

was a little bit difficult or at least, you know,

trying to understand the mental health vocabulary, right?

I tried a free trial of BetterHelp a couple of months ago

because I figured that the best way for me

to be able to get some sort of therapy was text.

Text is the best way for me to understand anything.

I always have people type things down, if I have an interview with anybody,

I have them type their questions down on Skype,

and then if they want they can read it out loud, you know,

just for the sake of the audio portion, right?

So, when I tried BetterHelp, I thought this was kind of fantastic,

you know, we can use the instant message feature.

However, there was the financial costs

and I'll get more into that in a second.

But then you think about people who are fluent in ASL, right?

Or insert sign language of your country,

because not all countries use ASL

and I went into some sort of, like, psychologist database

and I was trying to find somebody who lived close by

that was fluent in ASL.

Practically nobody. At least not close by.

The closest I found was Asheville,

which is about an hour and a half away.

An hour and a half to two hours.

Driving all that time

and driving for that much time

back and forth, on top of paying a traditional therapist fee,

just sounds draining.

And you know what? That's the case for a lot of people, a lot of deaf people,

because here's the thing,

ASL and English are two completely different languages.

So, a lot of the time you're not gonna find a whole lot of deaf people

who grew up using ASL,

you're not gonna find them to be very fluent in English

because the education here just isn't all that great.

There's a lot of deaf schools that have been closed down

and a lot of hearing teachers in deaf schools that don't even know ASL.

Yeah, that's a thing.

So, that makes things complicated.

Trying to find somebody that speaks your language

because therapy isn't something, I imagine, that you really wanna mess up, you know?

And you wanna be able to understand everything that's going on

so that you can really get the help that you need.

Now, I did do a little bit of research when I was trying to find other therapists

and I saw that there were a few deaf-based therapists.

There are two that I remember seeing.

I can't remember the names of them right now,

but it was a deaf therapy service

and all the therapists were deaf.

However, when I was doing a little bit more research

and trying to find reviews,

I found out the reviews were not so great,

so you know, the whole breaking confidentiality policies and whatnot.

So, that was something that I wasn't really interested in

because I didn't want that to happen to me,

nobody really wants that to happen.

That's a bummer right there.

The other thing is the cost.

Therapy is expensive as heck, right?

And the thing with being deaf/disabled

is a lot of us are very unemployed or underemployed.

So for me, because I was never able to be successful

in getting a "normal people job".

I hate using that, but a "mainstream job", if you will, you know,

like something in retail and you know, whatnot.

I've never been successful at that.

So, I'm self-employed with YouTube and Twitch etc, etc.

And that income is all wishy-washy. It all depends.

And deaf and disabled people are some pf the most unemployed people in the world

and yes you may get SSI and some other stuff,

but you're only allowed a certain amount in your bank account

and once you possibly go over that, you're out,

you... it's not gonna work out.

And when I was looking at prices,

it was anywhere from $80 to something over $100.

That is really expensive,

especially if you wanted to go, you know, every week or something.

If I were to go to the person I found at Asheville,

I would probably only be able to go once a month

because the gas would be expensive

and then the appointment would be expensive, right?

So, BetterHelp was a good option

and I know there's another text-based therapy thing,

I can't remember the name of it, but BetterHelp wasn't too bad,

and price was about $35 a week

and there might be a couple of other options

but even that can be very, very expensive for a deaf or disabled person.

And also while I'm back on the accommodation thing

because I just remembered I had also emailed a couple of local people,

a couple of local therapists and I would ask them,

"Hey, what's your accommodation like?"

So, would you be able to write things down for me

like I can meet you halfway,

I will talk to you out loud and then you can write to me

or type on the laptop or whatever.

Or would you be able to find an ASL interpreter

because 'insert Americans With Disabilities Act thing here'

and every response that I got, if I got a response,

a lot of people didn't reply to me, including the ASL-fluent one in Asheville.

I would get a lot of,

"Yeah, you would have to pay for your own interpreter."

and then they would never reply at all about the typing part,

even if I replied back to them

trying to get some sort of clarification on that

and hiring an interpreter is also very expensive

and that's quite the burden to put on the disabled person,

especially when... or the deaf person,

especially when you have the ADA in place.

A couple of people said that the requirement, when it comes to ADA,

like, yes, you would have to provide one yourself,

but regardless of what that little specific part is,

it's just so expensive.

Chances are we can hardly afford the actual therapy appointment

and then having to pay,

gosh, what is it? $100 or $200 for an hour, I think,

I may be wrong, for an interpreter along with it?

Plus the gas if you gonna go driving. It's so expensive.

So, yeah, the whole depression percentage

among deaf and disabled people is so, so high.

Not only because of ableism,

but because of the lack of mental health... proper mental health resources for deaf people.

I do wish that therapy was much more readily accessible

because that will make things a whole lot easier and you know what?

In the future, I may try BetterHelp again.

I know there was that whole like scandal that happened with them,

but sometimes you kinda just have to go with a certain evil, if you will,

if a company is evil.

It's just like with disabled people and Amazon.

A lot of people aren't liking Amazon lately, but when you're disabled,

you kind of have to go with what you can get, right?

So, Amazon is a tremendous help for those who find that the outside world

is not very accessible in terms of,

you know, mobility aids and whatnot.

So, what can we do to try to solve this problem?

A whole lot of education.

That's why I make videos over on my channel.

I try to talk to people and let things be known.

I've had a couple of people who want to be therapists, right?

Who have told me,

"Wow, I had no idea about this and I want to make a change."

You know, "I want to be able to... I want to learn ASL

so that way, if I do have deaf patients who want to come into therapy,

I would be able to help them out or you know,

they may offer to do the whole typing thing,

should the deaf patient be proficient in English", like me.

That's one thing to do.

And also instead of just making videos or writing articles,

actually sending out emails or letters to these sorts of businesses,

these therapists and telling them,

"Hey, this is what you should probably consider doing

because I think it would be a tremendous help".

It would be a tremendous help, but you know?

Yeah. So yeah. I thought that that was a very interesting topic to talk about

because it's something that really needs to be talked about.

And again, Chris, thank you, so, so much for allowing me

to be able to come talk about this,

because yeah, I could talk about it on my channel, right?

But it's really good to talk about it to a completely different audience

because chances are you probably knew less

than what my audience does

because they've been around me for a while.

So, I hope you all learned something new.

I hope that I've possibly encouraged you all

to help us make some change.

Thank you for allowing me to take up your time

and I will you later, bye.

Back to Chris.

CHRIS BOUTTÉ: Alright. Thank you so, so, so much, Rikki,

for coming over and discussing this with everybody.

Like, with my channel, one of my main goals

is to spread awareness, alright?

And here's the thing, like dealing with mental health issues is a struggle.

It's a struggle already,

but, you know, what we learn from Rikki, and even I learned some more,

when you're deaf or even, you know, have another disability,

it makes it that much more difficult.

So, please do me a favor and share this video.

Share this video on the chance that it might, you know,

land in, you know, the lap of a therapist

or somebody else who has the ability to make some changes.

Maybe therapists don't even know how much of an issue that this is.

Kind of like what Rikki was saying in the video.

She has people who are pursuing a career in mental health

and this gives them something additional to think about, alright?

Like, we need to make this stuff more accessible to everybody.

Also, if you are interested in the online therapy service

that Rikki discussed, BetterHelp,

I personally use BetterHelp and my therapist is amazing.

Tristan has been using BetterHelp longer than I have.

Her therapist is amazing.

So, BetterHelp also supports the channel.

So, there is an affiliate link down in the description below.

So, if you want to check it out, they do have a sliding scale.

So, ask them about affordable fairing,

but you can, like, even if you're not somebody who's deaf,

like, you can text them.

I haven't even had like a phone call conversation with the therapist yet,

but I can schedule one.

But everything we've been doing, like, so far, has just been through texts.

She texts me literally every single day.

Alright, and I will be doing a full review about my experience with BetterHelp

because of all the nonsense that happened.

But anyways, if you want to check that out,

go down in the description below, but also in the description below,

if you are somebody who's deaf, like,

feel free to join our Facebook group, as well as our Discord server, OK?

This way you can type and chat and get support.

We have, you know, people with disabilities

in both the Facebook group and Discord server

and it's always beneficial to link up with other people

who struggle with disabilities because, like me,

I don't know everything and I haven't been through everything.

This is why I get people like Rikki to come over on the channel

and discuss these things, alright?

So, you might be able to find people who you can connect with

by joining the Discord server or the Facebook group.

And don't forget this video is part of a collaboration.

So, make sure you go check out the video I did over on her channel

where I discussed how to not feel so alone

when you're struggling with your mental health issues.

And once again, thank you so much, Rikki,

for coming over and being a guest on my channel

and you guys, like, all of you, all of you,

if you're watching this video, you need to do me a favor.

Go subscribe to Rikki right now, alright?

She covers such a wide range of topics.

So, not only does she talk about, you know, being deaf or being disabled,

she talks a ton about mental health, and not only depression,

but she talks about going through trauma,

she talks about going through abuse and all of that.

I know I have a very large female audience

and I know so many of you can benefit from the videos over on her channel,

so make sure you subscribe to her. It'll be linked up in the info card,

down in the description, down in the pinned comments,

and at the end screen, alright?

But anyways, again, don't forget to share this video

and if you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up.

If you're new, make sure you subscribe and ring that notification bell.

And a huge thank you to everybody supporting the channel over on Patreon.

You're all amazing and you're helping me caption more of my videos!

(LAUGHTER)

coming to you live from the best airport in the world

we are in victoria

bc canada

this is literally our favourite

airport

to be in, its quiet

everyone is super nice here

there's never a line up

zero to 5 minute wait at security

and the air in BC is amazing

it just clears out your lungs i love it

so were going to Davos in Switzerland

super last minute trip

this was out of no where

crazy thing about going on last minute trip is when you don't own anything

because 2 years you thought it was a good idea to sell everything

you spend 2 days running arounf

desperately looking for the things

that you no longer have

i actually went and needed a new winter coat

i had a lot of trouble finding

a coat because most of the coats

have down in them

or they have that coyote trim

which drives me crazy

there's no purpose to actually keeping warmer

to have coyote on your trim

so its literally just a fashion statement

that says i don't care

that a coyote was trapped

killed and skinned

i found this amazing coat at Lole

and they use synthetic down

a little model show here

and its super warm

so im really excited to test it out in the winters of switzerland

and i think its final boarding now too

were always the last people on the plane

somehow

we gotta go

Negative Mental Filters and Their Impact On Our Lives - Duration: 3:09.

Today I'm going to share a very interesting story with you.

Years ago, I had a woman come in because she had this horrible fear of flying.

I had already worked with her daughter and seeing the difference that it had made in

her life, her mom decided to come in.

At one point during our session, I was asking her basic intake questions when I asked, What's

a place where you would imagine yourself happy?

With an expressionless face she replied with, There isn't one.

I quickly countered with, there's got to be one place and she said none.

What made that hard to believe was that this woman had been working at the same company

for decades, had two beautiful, intelligent and successful adult daughters and had been

married to the same man for over two decades and everything in that relationship was ok.

Obviously, something was wrong with this picture.

The more I asked in a variety of different ways for some memory of even just a positive

experience, she wouldn't budge.

It got to the point where I needed to continue with the session so I did just that.

Well, I must have asked her so many times for a memory of just even a positive moment

that during our session without me even asking for it, her mind went and found a memory.

And what was wild was that later on, she would tell me that it was a memory that she had

no previous recollection of.

Check this out: Her mind took her to a time frame when she was just 5 years old, poor,

without her parents, living in the house of a family member with people who didn't always

treat her nicely.

She connected with a particular memory of her being in a yellow dress that had flowers

on it.

She said that even though her dress was dirty, she said that she felt happy.

While she was telling me all about it, you could tell that she was also experiencing

feelings of happiness and peace.

Another thing was that she didn't talk like the very serious put together woman that had

come in, instead, she talked more like a child.

After I helped her to process that experience, I continued with our session and got the job

done.

That client went on to have one of the calmest flying experiences she had had in a very long

time.

I was really proud of her.

My point in sharing that story with you is that our unconscious mind has all kinds of

stuff stored in the hard drive of our minds.

Some things we are aware of and others, we have no recollection of.

We don't need to know everything that is stored but it is advisable to process anything

that might negatively be carrying into your present.

So for example, if you find yourself automatically carrying on with negative thoughts and behavior

that only hurts you, you want to work on that because left unchecked, our minds usually

keep wanting to do the same over and over again.

The thing is that it's up to you whether you are going to let the past control you

or if you are going to take control.

For more information on sessions, feel free to go to SashaCarrion.com.

We offer in office as well as over the phone sessions.
