Waching daily Feb 4 2019

Hey guys, Welcome to Pixivu.

In this tutorial, you will create this watercolor mockup.

And, At the end of the tutorial, you will be able to apply the complete effect again on any photo, in only a few SECONDS!

Let's go.

Let's start by creating a New Document.

Make sure that, both width and height are 2500 & 1500 pixels, with 300 Resolution.

Click Create.

Let's import our image from, File, Place embedded.

Double-click the image to import.

Resize it to fill the canvas. then Press ENTER.

Grab the Rectangle selection Tool, and select the entire canvas.

With your layer selected, press CTRL+J, to take what is selected to a new layer.

Delete both layers, we don't need them.

Right-click "Layer 1", then, Convert to Smart Object.

Rename it, "Base".

Press CTRL+J 5 times, to make 5 copies of it.

Hide all layers, and keep "Base Copy" layer visible.

With this layer selected, go to File, Stylize, then choose Emboss.

Make emboss values, 135 degree, with 4 Pixels height, and 100% amount.

Since we are working with smart objects, all filters will be applied as smart filters.

Now, Let's make it a little bit sharper.

As you can see, the Sharpen filter is now added, over the Emboss filter.

Now, From Filter menu, choose Filter Gallery.

Now click on, Cutout. from the Artistic Folder.

Change values to, 8, 4, and 1. then click OK.

Rename it to anything you want.

Select "Base copy 2" layer, and unhide it.

Go to Filter Gallery, and Apply the Cutout Filter to it!

But in here, change Levels to 7.

Click OK.

Change Blend mode to Overlay

As you can see, Once you change the blend mode to overlay. you will get a final output with more details.

Now, select "Base Copy 3"

Drag it in between the 2 other layers.

Change its Blend Mode to Color.

This will increase the tone a little bit.

Let's rename both layers.

Now, Select Layer 4, and unhide it.

Again, Go to Filter Gallery.

And from Stylize folder, choose Glowing Edges.

Keep your values like mine.

I need to make the black color background invisible, and keep only the glowing edges.

Screen Blend Mode is the best choice here. Because it keeps the brighter color, and hides the black color.

This would add some outlines, and give us more details to our effect.

Now, Let's add some other details, with this final layer.

Unhide it, then, go to Filter, Other, and choose High Pass.

Keep Radius 2, then click OK.

Change Blend Mode to Overlay.

As you can see, High Pass filter with Overlay, always add some sharpening and details.

Great!

Select all layers, then, drag them on the Group icon, to group them.

Name the group.

That's it! let's move to the next step.

Let's open the Border Image.

Double-click to open it!

Now, we want to select the white border only!

Since border has only a one color, which is white. the best selection Tool here, should be the Color Range.

With your layer selected, go to, Select, and choose Color Range.

Change Select option to Sampled Color.

With the Eyedropper, Click on the border to select it.

Decrease Fuzziness, to exclude the sky and grass from our selection.

In mask, Black means invisible, and White means visible.

Let's make a Mask from our selection.

As you can see, everything inside the mask with a black color, is now Invisible.

But, since the clouds and sun has the same white color. they still exists.

So, We will remove them manually.

Now, Hold the ALT key, then click over the Mask thumbnail, to open it.

Now, we are inside the mask.

Let's grab a black brush, and start painting over what we wanna hide.

All this black area, will be invisible, after we exit from the mask.

Now, hold ALT again, then click on the mask, to exit from it.

As you see, all black areas inside the mask, is now hidden.

After converting to smart object. Drag and drop it into your main document.

Now, Press CTRL+T, then, CTRL+0 to find the layer edges.

Adjust size and position as seen.

Great!

Let's add the texture.

With the top layer selected, Let's import our texture image.

Adjust size and position.

Change Blend Mode to Multiply.

Reduce Opacity a little bit.

Let's add Levels, to increase the contrast a little bit.

Move both sliders, to the start and the end of the histogram.

That's fine!

Group both layers, and name it "Adjustments".

Now, let's test our mockup.

Right-click the "Base" layer, and choose, Edit Content.

Now, we are inside the smart object.

Let's import the image we want.

Adjust size and position, then press ENTER.

Now, press CTRL+S, to update the smart object.

Get back to your main document.

That's it!

Once you update a single smart object, All other smart objects will be updated, and all filters will be applied to them.

5 Simple Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Website (2019) - Duration: 19:14.

Congratulations, you've set up your website and that's a big accomplishment.

The next step I want to do is I want to walk you through a few things that you

can do to increase traffic to your website. That's a really big challenge

that people who start their website have so let's walk through some things to get

you started on the right track. The items that we'll be covering in this video are

we'll do keyword research first and once we do that let's create a useful content

outline for all of your articles. We'll apply SEO basics to your website to make

sure that it's seen in the search engines. We'll share on different social

networks, this will provide the initial traffic that your site will need

and then we'll start an email list so to get started let's talk about keyword

research. It's absolutely one of my favorite things to do when starting up a

website because it allows me to go through and see what users are searching

for in Google and what you can do before you start keyword research using a tool,

go ahead and take pen and paper, I know it's old school, but go ahead and take a

pen and paper and do a brain dump of all the topic ideas that you have and that

you know about your business. This will really give you an idea of what all

you're going to talk about on your website and let you kind of organize all

of the ideas. So after you've done the brain dump I'm going to show you two

tools that you can use to get even more keyword ideas so let's get that going.

The first tool I'll show you is ahrefs, if you're familiar with other tools like

semrush then you can use that but I'm comfortable using ahrefs and I love it so

I'll show you this one and as I said before it is a paid tool but you can do

7-day trial for seven dollars and honestly with a new website that's going

to be plenty of time and energy to really gather up a whole bunch of

keywords that will take you years to write about. So the seven day trial will

probably work best for you but if not don't worry I'll show you a

free alternative in a minute. We're going to do the keyword Explorer tool and with

this you want to enter your seed keyword or the main keyword idea that your

business is about. For instance I'll put in plumbing as a seed keyword

and then what we'll do is we'll go out and it'll do a few things it's going to

check the volume, that means it's the search volume, how many people a month type in

plumbing. You'll also see the keyword difficulty, that's for how difficult

might it be for your website to rank. The other thing I like about this is I typed

in plumbing but it's going to bring back a ton of keywords related to this topic.

You'll see having the same terms it'll bring back it also ranks for, that means

a website that ranks for plumbing is also ranking for these other keywords

and you see the volume of the other keywords here. They will give you search

suggestions and then these are newly discovered, that means that these are new

keywords that have just come into their database. So one of the first things I'll

do when I'm doing my keyword research is I like to go down to the questions area.

Questions surrounding your keyword topic are super helpful. You could write the

answers to multiple questions on your industry and your, your site would become

immensely helpful to anyone who's searching for that and then these are

all of the questions. There are twenty over twenty five thousand keywords in a

question form the question form is who, when, how, why, what and they're all pulled

in. Since there are so many keywords we can drill down and start to filter on

some of these items a little bit more. What I like to do is if I'm a brand new

website then I want to make sure that my keyword difficulty is thirty or less and

again these are estimations that these tools use to identify how difficult it

might be for a website to rank. So to pare it down a little bit I've added in

the keyword difficulty of thirty would be the maximum and now it brought back

408 keywords that I can write about. So looking at some of these my main columns

that I worry about are the keyword. Can I write about this topic? There's a very

interesting parent topic if you want to start categorizing some of your topics

then this gives you a good idea of that. You have the keyword difficulty which

is their estimation of how difficult it might be

for a new website to rank for these keywords. The lower the better for you

and then I also like to look at the volume. The volume is the estimated

volume in a month that this keyword is being searched for. So it's estimated

that about 700 people type in, "When was indoor plumbing invented". you definitely

want to go through here and get rid of any that might not work for your website.

Don't feel like you need to write about these things. So for questions

we have 408. I'll go ahead and click export. You can do a quick export here where you

save it locally, name it something that has meaning for you, and now I have all

my questions that I can write articles about. Aside from the questions I like to

go to all keyword ideas and that will bring up just a ton of keyword ideas for

you again I'll go to 30 as my max and that's simply for the first round of

articles that I'm going to write. I want to write for the maybe easier ones to

rank for. You see that brought it down but we still have a lot and that's okay.

Once we click export it'll export the first thousand rows and that is still a

lot to write about and like I said if you don't have a ahrefs or if you're not

interested, there is another great tool called AnswerthePublic and it's, it's a

free tool you can go pro but it's a free tool. All you want to do is go in here,

select your region or your language, type in the keyword and get questions and

what answer the public is doing, say I'm gonna open up Google and I'm going to

show you. When you go in and you type in plumbing you see that Google is doing an

auto suggest. These are like the top keywords, if I hit a spacebar and start

going through the alphabet then those words change and I could do this

all day long and I'll see all the different topics related to plumbing. I can also do

this where I do how plumbing and start going through the list as well. But that

can be kind of tedious and I might not want to spend all my day doing that. The

other thing it'll do is when you do a search, Google has a tendency to say, bring that

people also ask for, so AnswerthePublic is doing all of that for you. In, on their

website and what it does is it will bring back all these questions,

prepositions, comparisons, and it will bring back the whole alphabet and what

you get is this great visual of plumbing and the questions related to plumbing

that then you can go in and write these topics. Now if you don't want to keep

moving your head around you can go up here and click data and it'll show all

of that in a data format. So you can see all of the questions that are being

asked in Google so then you know exactly what people are searching for and you

can answer those questions. So think about how powerful that keyword research

is in doing that. What you can do is go ahead and click download the CSV file so

you can have it locally and you can start going through this whole list and

just answering all those questions and writing articles about that. So that is

the power of keyword research and it's probably one of the reasons why I love

it the most it's like a puzzle that you're putting together. Now as much fun

as keyword research is there comes a time when you have to stop doing the

keyword research, you've gotten all the keywords you can pull together and it's

time to start creating the useful content for your visitors and this will

be the bulk of your website. So in creating useful content let's talk about

a few of the things that you'll want to make sure that you do. First you want to

be thorough, it used to be that you could throw together 500 word article and it

would rank okay in Google's eyes. That's not really the case anymore A) how much

information are you really gathering to answer the question or to give the

information to your user. Five hundred's really not going to be it

your minimum is probably going to be a thousand and really in many reports that

people have done the top results on Google are actually closer to two

thousand words or more. Now that doesn't mean to just fluff and add content in

there even if it's not needed. Just be thorough however long or short that is

to answer the user intent. The next thing you want to do is make sure that your

content is readable. Let me show you really quickly

what this means. Both of these articles on the left and the right are the same

article, but which one would you rather read? When I look at the one on the right

I just want to run away because this is just a wall of text and I just can't see

where I'm starting where I'm ending. On the left you have the content, you have a

lot of whitespace. We break up the information with things

like images, sub headers, numbered lists, bullet points, and all of this helps me

to scan or read the content as I'm scrolling through it. So make sure that

the content is readable. The next thing you want to do is once you've created

the content, you've made it readable, you also want to create great headlines and

let me walk you through what I mean by this. Headlines are one of the most

important parts of your whole article, in fact there are people who will actually

take the same amount of time that it takes to create the article to write

their headline and so let's look at this in detail. So if you're an expert in

plumbing you probably know exactly what your site is about and exactly what

you're about to talk about. You want to say something like you're doing it wrong

and then you're going to go into the article and discuss how to fix a leaky

faucet or whatever the article is about. Well that's okay, you know what the

article is about but the problem is Google doesn't know

what the article is about, they see the content in your article, but it's not

tying up with the headline and so they're more likely to not rank you very

high because they're just not sure what it's about. What you really want to do

with the headline is you want to make sure that you have the keywords that you

saw people are using when they're searching in Google. Make sure you have

those keywords in the headline themselves. So let's try it again, how to

fix a leaky faucet. Well that's actually really good, it has all the keywords that

the user will probably search for and so it's going to satisfy Google they're

gonna say oh the headline is about leaky faucet, it's scanning through your

article itself it notices keywords that are associated with fixing a leaky

faucet it says okay this is probably a really good one.

I'm going to rank this and let people see it in the search results when they

search for this. So you think you're probably done, well not exactly because

you're answering the question for Google and Google's going to show you in the

results but the problem is when a reader goes through and they're scanning

through all of the available articles in the Google search results so they're

probably going to skip it because yeah it's serving the purpose but it's not

really exciting them on how it's going to fix their leaky faucet problem and

how it's going to fix their issue and what you can do to fix that is you'll

want to add power words. OptinMonster has a great resource on their website and it

showcases 700 different power words that you can use for your headline and I'll

link in the description below so you can have it. So let's go back to our example

and let's try it one more time. Okay, so let's try eight easy ways on how to fix

a leaky faucet today and notice we put that in parentheses. Parentheses or

brackets seem to give a little extra umph for people when they see it. We're

giving them different ways that they can do it, are they going to be easy? Yeah,

they're going to be easy and that they can do that today they don't have to

wait for the weekend or some other time to fix their leaky faucet.

So really take some time to go through and craft the perfect headline for your

articles. Okay, once you've created your content and you've done a great job of

your new headline you want to apply some SEO basics to your articles. All that

means is you just want to make sure that the search engines have a better chance

of finding your articles. We already did that by making sure that the keyword is

in our title, making sure that some of the keywords are all throughout our

article, the next thing you want to do is if you have any images in the article

you want to make sure that the title as well as the alt text are filled out. This

is great for SEO but it's also important for accessibility. That's for people who

can't see, they rely on readers to tell them what the images say with the alt

text. You'll also want to make sure that you do internal linking. You're going to have

more than one article and do you want to tell Google what all of

your articles about. I'll give you an example. This is a guide on our website

on how to get more traffic to your website and throughout the article we

have links here and you see when I hover over this down at the bottom it says

where it's going. So these are internal links on the website and they do a

little help to tell Google what this article is about so this is the anchor

text. It's also the keywords that I want this article that I'm pointing to, to

rank for and you'll want to do a lot of that for your website as well. It helps

Google know more and more what your website is about. It also helps people if

they're reading through the article if they're interested in what you're

talking about that it's an easy way for them to click on that to go to that next

article and read that as well. One of the ways that you can help with your SEO

basics is install a, an SEO plugin like the Yoast SEO plugin and it just gives

you green and yellow lights to let you know if you're on track for doing some

of these things. If you want to go further than that we have the WordPress

SEO guide on our site that I'll link in the description so that you can see some

of the other ways to improve your SEO as well. Great, now that you've started

creating articles and you have some on your website the next thing you want to

do is go ahead and start doing some online networking. This is kind of the

same thing as if you're building a store in your town and you go to the local

Chamber of Commerce to get your name out you go to local conferences or local

meetups and you hand out your business card it's kind of the same thing that

you want to start doing online as well. SEO takes a while and it will take a

little while for your articles to start coming up in Google search so you want

to help that out by creating social networks and really getting involved

online if you can to help with this process. So like I said you can create

your social profile and the different social networks. If you're a local

business create a Facebook page, create a profile in Google my business, let me

show you what Google my business is. If I'm searching for a plumber near me, these

results are because they are in Google my business. So you'll want to set up

Google my business especially if you're a local business setting up shop. The

next thing you want to do is go ahead and get into some online communities.

There are several Facebook groups, I would say Facebook pages you'll want to

have for local business but I wouldn't spend a whole lot of time on your

Facebook page because Facebook's algorithm has just changed that they

really aren't wanting anybody to go off of Facebook. But, Facebook groups are

still really important and that's for any industry related thing if there is a

town group for instance my town has a word-of-mouth group on Facebook that

anyone can go to to ask people's opinions on a local business and then

the local business owners can chime in there too. So see if there's a Facebook

group for your community. Other search engines, what I mean by other search

engines are Pinterest kind of considered a social network but it and YouTube are

actually also their own search engines YouTube is the number two search engine

so if you're creating a craft related or a visually appealing service or if you

have a visually appealing service or product then Pinterest can drive a lot

of traffic to your site. The same thing with YouTube, if you have a service that

you can do a lot of videos for. Also go to a lot of Q&A websites, you have things

like Reddit, Quora where you can find what people are asking for and you can share

your response and your experience with them and then if it's related go ahead

and drop a link in there. Now you'll also want to make sure that you're sharing

useful information and you're not just going to these groups spamming them with

your links just provide value. I'll give you an example of something happened

this morning, someone shared in a blogging group the results that happened

for him. He's part of a biking group and he asked for other people's opinions on

the best tire pressure that they should have for fat tires and everybody helped

and gave them their idea. He went off and created an article that should be

helpful for people looking for that information. He went back to his group

and just shared the information said thanks for giving me your input by the

way here's the link to the article that I wrote based on what you

all said and from just sharing that information and asking for feedback and

help he got 300 visitors that day and it's a very new website so it was pretty

surprising for him to get that many visitors in one day just by being part

of these groups and being helpful. And finally, let's talk about building an

email list. You'll want to give your users a way to get on your email list by

doing just a simple optin form that just has a name and email and you tell

them that what they'll be receiving once they get on your email list and at a later

date even add a lead magnet and I'll share with you a resource of several

lead magnet ideas that you can choose from. But, I would say to begin with just

go with the optin form and get it on your website, you can have it to where

you put the optin form on at the end of every article and I would even do this

before you get going on the online networking. With an email list you can

continue to drive repeat visitors back to your website by continuing to send

them emails when say you update your blog post and that's really helpful to

grow your traffic. In this video we've covered five different ways to get more

traffic to your website and in the next video I'll walk you through the six ways

that you can generate more leads to your website. Did you learn today's video? If

so subscribe to our YouTube channel and we'll send more helpful tips to help you

manage your WordPress website and thanks for watching.

Arsenal news: 'He's the weak link' - one star singled out by ESPN pundit - Duration: 2:03.

That is the verdict of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley

Lichtsteiner joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Juventus last summer. The 35-year-old has mostly had to play back up to Hector Bellerin for the first few months of his Gunners career

But with Bellerin out for several months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Lichtsteiner has had to step in

The Switzerland international had a difficult game in Sunday's loss to Manchester City but it was nothing Burley did not expect

"Lichtsteiner got caught out every time but that's no surprise," he said. "He's the weak link in that defence

" Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick to lead City to a 3-1 win over Unai Emery's side

And Burley says the poor start, with City scoring inside the first minute, ultimately cost Arsenal

"What cost them was basic errors, particularly [Alex] Iwobi," he added. "If you go to Man City, in the dressing room as a player the first thing you're saying to each other is 'listen guys, we do the basics well, we keep it tight'

"The old saying in football has always been you keep it tight for the first 15-20 minutes, you frustrate the crowd

"When you make a mistake like they did so early on then it's difficult. "He's tried to get his two front men into to the game

"But what happened was [Matteo] Guendouzi and [Lucas] Torreira, they didn't have bad games, but they got swamped in the middle of the park

I Went 24hrs Without Touching Plastic. This is What Happened. - Duration: 8:31.

This video is sponsored by Bunz. I'm going to spend the next 24 hours without

touching or using anything made of or containing plastic. 24 hours,

no plastic. But first I need to take this off because it's entirely made of

polyester, and polyester is a type of plastic. And actually my socks, which I

thought were entirely merino wool when I started this, they actually contain a

bunch of nylon which is another type of plastic. Oh, and my pants,

they contain type of elastic fabric that is plastic. Oh and the elastic, I have to..

get rid of these too because they- they're not- they have plastic in them.

okay. Now in order to do this project I need to film it so I'm making an

exception for my camera and for my tripod, both of which are mostly made of

plastic. But I can't use my phone so I'm gonna just do one last thing set an

alarm for tomorrow, save, and take off my glasses which have little things of

plastic on the nose. I'm gonna plug my phone in cuz as of now I have no way of

telling the time. First thing is I got to make myself some socks. The flooring in

my apartment is almost entirely carpet and fake tiles so, both of those are made

mostly of plastic which is why I have set up the longest game of 'the floor is

lava' using these little cotton tea towels which are 100% cotton. I can't use

my refrigerator during this project but here's some food that I can eat. Well it

turns out that reading with a magnifying glass instead of my glasses just gives

me headache so I'm gonna have to get a little more creative with what I'm

to do with my time. It's been just this much candle and I'm already so bored

that I'm doing something I thought I would actually never ever do again in my

life: I'm setting up dominoes. Plastic! By the way all of the plastics that I'm

avoiding in this video we're all made from fossil fuels. It's dinnertime.

I've got canned chili. I also can't cook it um because my stove has plastic

throughout it. I'm going to sleep but I'm not saying that I'm going to bed because

what I'm actually sleeping in is a pile of 100% cotton towels on the floor. It's

gonna be cold and it probably won't be very comfortable but there won't be any

plastic in it. So, I tried making coffee this morning but without a kettle or a

microwave or a coffee machine or a bodem to use (because all of those are plastic)

my coffee was terrible. Ack. But I have a back-up plan.

The floor is lava the floor is lava the floor is lava. This is cold brew coffee,

and this freeze your coffee first thing, it's a trick I figured out before my bio

dome project because I couldn't cook then either and coffee is very important.

most of the water and my house comes through these black PVC these plastic

pipes so I stored up a bunch of water and I've been using that to wash my

hands and to flush the toilet. Luckily my toilet is porcelain but the

seat, the seat is plastic so that's been kind of awkward. I can brush my teeth

with a bamboo and charcoal toothbrush instead of a plastic one. And I can use

baking soda or make my own toothpaste instead of using something that comes in

a plastic tube, and I can floss using silk, but there's a few things that I

just can't get away from. Like, I had cavities a long time ago and now I have

white plastic fillings in my teeth, so I am

always touching plastic. There's another exception that I want to talk about in

a moment. Candle snuffer take 14.. Now I gotta find

something else to do. I can't go outside because in Vancouver the roads are

partly paved with recycled plastic. By now you can probably tell that most of

what you own is made with plastic. Humans are obsessed with the stuff. We make 300

million tons of it every single year and of that 79 percent will eventually

become waste in landfills or in nature like our oceans where scientists predict:

by the year 2050 our oceans may have more plastic in them than fish. There's

already so much plastic waste built up in our oceans that when researchers go

looking for it they can usually find microscopic bits of plastic in sea salt,

the sea salt that you eat. And that brings me to my last exception with this

little project which is that: it's probably in my body. Because when

researchers looked at the stool samples of eight different individuals from

eight different countries, every single one of them had plastic in them. So it's

probably in me and it's probably in you. Now we can make major steps towards

getting rid of plastic without having to live like this. And that's because half

of the plastic we create is made to be used just once,

it's single-use plastic, that needs to stop. There's two things that you can do.

Number one is to take a long hard look at the plastic waste that you create:

figure out whether it's bottles or plastic packaging or bags

and find alternatives. And number two is to push your local governments towards

banning single-use plastics like shopping bags and takeout containers

some of these things are gonna stick around for a thousand years unless we do

something now. Yes! That was 24 hours. While working to reduce the amount of

plastic in my life I recently discovered an online community called Bunz. They

have an app and it's super simple you can post things on there that you no

longer want to use and you can find things on there that you do want to use.

On the very first day that I went on to their app I found these steel tiffins

and I've been looking to buy these already and it was really easy and

message to the person I biked down the street and I made a trade I gave them a

Christmas gift that hadn't even left the box (I won't say from whom) and in

return they gave me these steel tiffins. The whole process was super easy and I

finished that experience thinking, like this is really great... and I should

totally ask Bunz to sponsor me. Their app is entirely free and it makes

trading with people super easy. So, check it out with a link in the description.

There is a new kid on the block. I have added this tropical plant to my robotic

garden because Sir Stabbington the cactus was just getting drowned with

your love. So this new plant needs a name leave a comment in the description and

subscribe to water either of them. Thanks!

Why politicians don't like to be called populists | BBC Ideas - Duration: 2:41.

The A to Z of isms... populism.

Populism sounds like democracy in action.

It's all about looking after the little guy, hearing what ordinary people want

and giving it to them -or at least promising to give it to them.

Oddly though, 'populist' is almost always a pejorative term -no one really wants the label.

Most populist leaders would rather see themselves as inspiring grassroot movements.

Populism has been around at least since ancient Roman times,

with emperor's lavishing money on food and entertainment, bread and circuses to appeal

to the masses. The English Civil War, the French Revolution, the Brexit referendum,

Donald Trump's rise to power -all these came from populist groundswells of

opinion against elites and the status quo. When a populist movement gets big

enough and doesn't get what it wants, it gives the mainstream the finger by

winning an election. So what could be wrong with a charismatic leader focusing

the will of the people and millions voting for what they believe in?

When populists choose to vote rather than revolt

isn't this just what democracy looks like when it's working? Well, some people see it

that way... But there's more to democracy than voting, at least more to liberal

democracy. In functioning democracies disagreement and dissent are part of the

political process. Political debate involves reason, evidence, challenge and

argument. Free speech and a free press are vital to this.

Populists, in contrast, love stirring hearts with rhetoric, aren't renowned for using

evidence and argument, and are keen on dividing the world into 'us' and 'them'.

They're prone to scapegoating journalists, elites and foreigners and to

conspiracy theories about why the world isn't as they want it to be.

Political opponents are dismissed as not understanding what ordinary people want.

The real danger in populism though is that it can morph into authoritarianism.

When populist leaders believe they're in touch with the spirit of the people

heaven help anyone who stands in their way.

The fervor of populist politics could be truly terrifying, as the French Revolution demonstrated.

The philosopherJean-Jacques Rousseau, whose ideas contributed to it,

provides a chilling warning of where unfettered populism can end up.

He declared that citizens who disagreed with the general will of the people,

should be forced to be free. That's a very long way from sticking up for the little guy.

Get The Right Clock Motor - Two Measurements - Duration: 3:46.

Measuring your hand shaft is very important when you're repairing a clock

or building a new clock. There's two measurements on the hand shaft. There's

an overall length. That's important if you have a lens and you need enough

clearance so the hands do not hit the lens. That's the overall length. The next

measurement is the threaded part. That's important because the threaded part

going to come through your clock face material and you have to have enough

room to attach the movement to the clock face material with a hex nut. The other

important measurement that goes along with measuring the hand shaft is the

length of your minute hand. That's how you measure clock hands from the

mounting hole of the minute hand to the tip. In this case it's under 5 inches,

therefore, I can use the American Made mini quartz movement line. I don't need

to use a high torque motor. I would use a high torque motor if my hands exceeded

five inches because then I would need a little extra power to drive those clock

hands. So in this case we're going to use the American made mini quartz. If I

measure this shaft, I got an overall length of an inch and I

got about 5/16 of the threaded. Let me put this up here so you can see this.

When I measured this part that's about five sixteenths so this motor will not

work. I can't have a motor that's too short. Put that in there. Because see if it's

too short there's no way I can affix it and use my

hex nut to tighten it down. So I'm gonna have to go up one size higher and in

that case I'm going to use the MVT7290A. It has an overall length of an inch and

a quarter but more importantly the threaded part is 5/16 of an inch. So you

see that has plenty of room. Now if I was fine with that

look I could just leave it like that put my rubber washer on and put the rest of

the hardware on. But if I wanted to get that a little closer so it would be more

cosmetic. I could go to the hardware store buy a couple washers throw a

couple of washers on. This will shim that back a little bit. So let's take a

look at how that worked. Put that in there.

Look at that its is about an eighth of an inch. Your next part on here is the

brass washer and then the hex nut. Then just get the hex nut sitting on the

right way. Then you can know if you just do it hand tight you're perfect. You

don't want to over tighten that because you can damage the movement. I

just typically do it hand tight. Looks very good so the important part step is

to measure your hand shaft. You have two measurements. The overall length - if you

have a lens. But you certainly have to measure the threaded part so you have

enough to secure your nut and if it's too large and you want a more flush look

with the threaded part just go and get yourself some washers and shim it back

And how do you give old music new eloquence?

(symphony continues)

Baroque music, one of the lovely things about it is,

it's open-ended.

It means that for me to make this music,

I've got to complete the score.

(classical music)

Music touches us.

And if it touches us, then it somehow is contemporary.

(opera singing)

(applause)

I'm dealing with people, specialists,

who love this music more than any other music.

intense enjoyment that we get out of this repertory,

that's what I want to shine through, you see.

First-Gen Mercedes ML 6x6 Pickup Conversion Will Make You Check Your Eyesight - Duration: 2:01.

The trend of modifying old SUVs by fitting them an extra axle for a total of three seems to have really taken off these past few years

Allow us to introduce you another such vehicle we found lurking on a not so dark corner of the web: a right-hand drive 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML

Located in Nottingham, UK, the car is for sale on eBay for £19,995 ($25,733/€22,643)

That's slightly more than a new Volkswagen T-Roc, which starts from £19,270 ($24,800/€21,821)

But hey, the VW will probably fit in the bed of this unofficial Merc pickup.OK, not really, but you get the point

Because of the extra axle at the back, you might be tempted to call it a 6×6.Technically, though, it's a 6×4, because those extra wheels are only there for show purposes and are not driven

Of course, there's an open bed behind the passenger compartment, and an original AMG kit and 18-inch alloy wheels

Powering it is a 3.2-liter petrol engine mated to an automatic gearbox. This first-gen ML has 140,000 miles (225,000 km) on the odo, and for an additional cost the vendor can ship it to your door, as long as you live in the United Kingdom

Despite the conversion, the vehicle is said to have passed the MoT "without problems", so what it needs right now is to be properly introduced to the road again

JJRC Q60 & Q65 RC Military Transporter Trucks - Duration: 5:15.

Hi RC friends how you doing? I'm Jake Billing and today we're looking at these

two products from JJRC, I've got the Q60 and the Q65 we've got two

military-style crawler trucks with everything you need in the boxes the

model numbers are Q60 and Q65. Shall we have a look inside the Q60 transporter

model is 1/16 scale and the Q65 Jeep is a 1/10 scale

so both trucks come with everything you need in the box, transmitter which is 2.4

gigahertz truck itself a battery charger manual and a screwdriver now what I like

about these trucks is that both of them have their battery compartments under

the bonnet or hood at the front

- the q60 on the left-hand side here is six wheel drive as leaf-spring

suspension I'll show you this all in a minute as

well and the Q65 is four-wheel drive with a leaf spring suspension as well

this is the Q60 transmitter I takes two double-a batteries in the bottom you've

got steering you've got throttle and the Q65 transmitter a little bit smaller

steering throttle you've got a few endpoint adjustments here power switch and

this again take the two double-a batteries in the bottom both trucks use

a USB charging solution to charge their NiCad battery packs these batteries take

about two to three hours to charge up this is the battery pack that's included

with the q60 it's a branded JJRC pack seven hundred milliamps six volt and the

battery pack in the Q65 is a 500 milliamp hour 4.8 volt NiCad pack

these are also removable I'm loving the headlights on the front

and I have to say it's an awesome looking truck but I didn't realise as well the

doors open on this thing at the back this little tailgate part here opens you

can also attach trailer to this as a little hook here attacks the trailers to

it she's really nice again this is a six wheel drive truck

we have a look along the top of this truck it's got war frontline written on

it there and there's a massive space in the back to put some cargo you'll

remember this is a kid's toy not a hobby grade level RC truck but nonetheless it

is cool underneath it here there's a lot of detail you can see it's got a six

wheel drive system so we looked at the Q65 Jeep next and I have to say those

front LED headlights are really nice and I noticed at the rear it also has some

here as well nice scale realism this is again 1/10 scale it's a four wheel drive

it's a military Jeep this particular model does have a digital proportional

steering and acceleration I love the fuel can on the back of the

spare functional wheel it's a nice size it's got some nice attention to detail

let's have a look at this then you've got war frontline on the bonnet hood

their windscreen the seat steering wheel interior and the rear it definitely is a

nice-looking little truck and I'm excited to have this outside to have fun

with it

so there we have it that's a quick look at the Q60 and the Q65 military trucks

from JJRC what did you guys think to these trucks personally I think they're

quite cool they're cheap they're on a budget the toys make a great gift

and have some cool features 4 wheel drive on this one a proper digital portion servo and

acceleration and braking on this it's different its unique I like the color it

comes with different colors as well and there's plenty of upgrades and optional

parts available for this truck the same goes for the Q60 model here this

transporter has loads of upgrades available online you can change it to a

have a digital proportional servo you can upgrade the motor buy a trailer you name it

awesome little trucks cheap as chips and bit of fun again

this is a great gift so thanks for watching guys what did you think to

the Q60 and the Q65 trucks from JJRC leave a comment right below and I'll come

back to you when I've written it see you next time bye

Trust Series: C.A.R.E.S. Framework | A for Authenticity - Duration: 4:08.

Hello, today we're going to talk about authenticity

And it's the second letter in the CARES framework.

Remember, TRUST CARES, and A is for authenticity.

And here's what I want you to remember in this,

authenticity is incredibly powerful

in your ability to build or rebuild trust, and really what it comes down to,

do people feel like they have a good sense of who you are at your core?

Do they have good expectations for what they should

expect from you, in their interactions with you?

Or the contrary to that is do people sort of see a different

person show up depending on who you're talking to?

Now, to give you a great example of working with someone several years ago,

I was brought in to counsel a manager,

we'll call him Frank,

and Frank was really struggling to fit in with this new organization.

And once we started interviewing some of his peers, what we heard was,

"I don't know who the guy is, I see him over here interacting with this team.

I see him over here working with these individuals.

I'm working with them on a limited basis.

And he's a different guy, seems to show up at all three of those."

Now, when I talk to frank about that, Frank said,

"Yeah" but he said,

"that's just me trying to get along and connect with everyone."

Well, I applaud his intentions,

but because of his over-trying to

fit in with each group that he worked with,

he was trying to project themselves to be a different person in each situation.

The result was, people didn't trust him, because

they didn't know who the real Frank was.

I'll give an example of another situation of a guy I worked with,

about three years ago,

it was actually working with the executive team,

I knew one of the team members had a

really rough reputation, you know, being a prickly guy to work with.

And when I mentioned this, in an interview of one of his peers,

the peer just laughed and said, "Yeah,

you know, John, John is not only prickly," they said, "John could be an ass."

They said, "The issue though, is that John's

and ass to everyone, he doesn't discriminate.

That's just who he is,

and you can either love him or you hate him.

But you always know what to expect from John."

And they said, "As a result, john is probably one

of the most trusted team members on the team.

He is who he is, and he's a powerful contributor to the team."

So that's another example of how important it can be.

Here's what I want you to think about in authenticity.

Are you giving people the chance to get to know who you are?

Are you helping set expectations on what people should expect from you?

And then does your practice, your action, actually

reinforce those expectations that you sent?

I'm going to give you one third example, and this one to be a personal one.

When I work with people in a project-based environment,

one of the things I'll usually tell them is, "Hey,

one thing you should know about me

is I'm really competitive,

I love what I do.

And when I get into a project environment, I can

get really focused, I can get really intense."

And the interesting thing is for people that know me in another context,

maybe as a professor role, or as an executive

coach role, or even outside of work,

they'll hear that and go "Pfft,

yeah, you're not that intense, you know, we know who you are."

But then when they encounter me in that other role, where I'm competitive,

they're like, "Wow, whoa, yeah, you, you are really intense."

But that's important because think about if I had not set that expectation

with them originally,

and they had, they came into our relationship

with another set of expectations,

that authenticity factor would have been really low.

So here's what I want you to do.

Think about your context.

Think about some of the most important relationships you have.

Evaluate how you show up.

Are you proactively setting those expectations with people?

Are you acting in such a way that people feel

like they have a real true sense of who you are?

How you answer those questions is going to be incredibly important to your

ability to build and rebuild trust and your most important relationships.

Hope you found this helpful. Look forward to seeing you in future videos. Take care.

What do you do? Behavior Intervention Teacher - Duration: 1:58.

Every day in Behavior Intervention is different.

A BI teacher needs to have a really good sense of humor.

They need to be accepting and loving of all kinds of different experiences.

They need to have a poker face.

Anything can be said and will be said right to your face and you need to not respond.

You need to be fearless.

This job is about more of giving of your heart than giving of your intellect.

These are just kids.

They're kids that want to be loved, they want to talk about Pokemon and Fortnight, and they

want to have relationships with adults that are positive and healthy.

So in a behavior intervention classroom, we have staff members that work together as a team.

Our team is tight. Really solid, fun people to work with.

I think the biggest challenges are the things that I can't control.

They're the things that happen to kids when they leave here.

They are the stresses that the kids are feeling when they arrive at school.

So, the biggest challenge really is to bring the kids back in, let them know that they're

safe and well cared for, so that they can let some of that go.

The end goal for these kids is for them to know they have a chance.

They have lived in their 10 short years of life more than I think I could handle as adult now.

So when they come into my classroom, they number one know that they're safe.

We work on relationship and trust and community.

Academics come, and as the kids begin to trust staff more, begin to trust one another more

and they know that they are safe, then they start doing really well academically.
