Waching daily Feb 4 2019

Matt Hogan here from MoveMe Quotes and thanks for tuning in!

This is Episode #5 of our MoveMe Quote of the Week Series where every Sunday we'll share

with you a thought-provoking quote and then accompany that quote with some thoughts that

are provoked to keep you focused on positive change and moving forward in life.

Our quote this week is brought to you by Stephen Covey from his book, The 8th Habit, and it reads:

"The successful person has formed the habit of doing things that failures don't

like to do.

Successful people don't like doing them either, necessarily.

But their dislike is subordinated by the strength of their purpose."

Now, this quote changed my life.

This quote revolutionized the way I look at doing daily tasks—the way I look at maintaining

habits that I commit to in the early on goal-setting process.

Whenever I feel like I'm lacking motivation I remind myself that the difference between

the successful person and the unsuccessful person is, that, the successful person does

what they know needs to get done even when they don't want to do it.

And this is something that Steven Pressfield covers in his book, Turning Pro, as well.

He talks about the idea of, "The Professional" versus "The Amateur."

And, The Professional is the person who, again, does what they know needs to get done even

when they don't want to do it, right?

They let their actions lead to inspiration.

Whereas The Amateur does what... they follow their motivations... they only do things when

they feel like doing it—and that's a big distinction.

So, whenever I feel like I'm unmotivated, whenever I feel like I'm in need of an extra

push, I remind myself that this is the time when I need to push the most.

And, this thought today runs pretty relevant to how I'm feeling...

I don't know if you guys can hear it or not, but I had a pretty wicked cold last night

that I'm still getting over—I'm still a little nasal-y.

But, I got hit pretty hard with a fever last night, had the whole headache, sore throat,

the whole, you know, cluster.

And I had a pretty rough night last night.

And, I woke up this morning feeling awful.

And I felt like, just staying in bed and just drowning in misery.

But when I woke up, again, thinking back and reminding myself, you know, this is the time

when you still gotta stay moving—this is the time when you still gotta get done what

you previously committed to.

And so I still got up, I still took my dog for a walk, I still took the opportunity to

move and stretch a little bit, I had my morning breakfast smoothie—filled it with a bunch

of nutritious things to help my body fight whatever it was fighting—I had an obligation

to, you know, go into work and meet my team to do a training session.

I wasn't running it—it wasn't a mandatory thing for me to do, but, my team was going

so I felt, you know, that obligation to go to support them.

So I decided to go and do that anyway, when I could have easily stayed home because of

the way I was feeling.

But, again, like Stephen Covey said, the, um, the pain of the discipline—the pain of being

disciplined—was subordinated by the strength of the purpose, right?

I wanted to be there for my team and even if, you know, it was a little bit painful and hard for me to

get there—I wanted to get there anyway.

So...

Really powerful concept.

Totally revolutionized how I, you know, look at my days and there are 3 tips I'll

share with you right now that will kind of help you stay more consistent and disciplined

in your life.

#1 —Whatever it is you decide that you're going to do—whatever, um, you commit to, that

you want to do on a regular basis—make sure that you're ready to do it for the rest of your

life, right?

Focus not on goals, focus on systems.

And that's a huge distinction.

When you set goals, that's something that you reach and stop.

When you focus on systems, that's something that becomes a part of your lifestyle that

you can stick to for the rest of your life.

And that's a huge thing to focus on, especially in the early on process of trying to build

a new habit—positive habit in your life.

So whatever it is you decide you wanna do, make sure that it's a commitment that you're

ready to do or the rest of your life—that's first.

Second, um, and this is another really important one: Come up with a plan for the day that

you know is coming—when you don't feel like doing it.

We all have those days.

You know that there's gonna be a day when you don't want to go to the gym.

You know there's gonna be a day when you're not gonna wanna do your work.

So come up with a plan.

What are you gonna do when that moment comes?

And if you have a plan set forth then it will make it a lot easier to overcome the barrier

of getting it done—overcome the Resistance (As Steven Pressfield talks about in his book

Turning Pro).

And, help you get it done anyway.

For example, I know that if I'm feeling off, if I'm feeling sick, if I'm feeling unmotivated,

and I don't feel like doing my workout... my backup plan is to just show up and just

sit on the mats, or sit on, you know, the gym floor and just stretch.

At least show up.

And at least, you know, get some momentum, at least do some moving.

Because moving promotes flow and when your body is flowing it helps, you know, heal whatever

it is that you're fighting anyway.

So that's my backup plan.

Even if I don't feel like going I still show up and I'll just do a modified version of

whatever it is I was gonna do.

And the third tip—another really important one—is: Never Miss 2 Days in a Row.

So, if you miss a day—life happens—and you might have a plan, but sometimes things

come up and you miss...

Never miss 2 days in a row.

The biggest thing that stops people from maintaining their systems for a long period of time is

the loss of momentum.

As soon as you loose your momentum and you miss a day, and then you miss a second day, it

becomes so hard to get back in the routine.

So never miss 2 days.

And this is an idea that comes from James Clear—he talks about this in his book, Atomic Habits.

Never miss 2 days.

Always, you know, continue grinding even if you miss one, show up and get back on track the next

day in the best way you possibly can because missing too many days in a row—it's gonna

lead you down the wrong path.

So...

Those are 3 tips that will help you out.

If you enjoyed this conversation or you enjoyed some of the thoughts I shared with you today,

let us know in the comment section below—we'd love to hear from you.

And thanks for tuning in!

We look forward to seeing you guys again next Sunday.

And, don't forget to hit that thumbs up button—that's always appreciated and we'll see you guys next time!

Take care.

Resident Evil 2 Remake ALL NEW Secrets & Easter Eggs You May Have Missed - Duration: 7:41.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has finally released, and if you thought the demo had some cool

easter eggs wait until you see all the crazy stuff we discovered in the full game.

In previous videos We showed you things in previous videos like the We Do It announce

video becoming the motto of the RPD, [japanese] but lets take a look at some more FRESH secrets,

easter eggs and callbacks that you may have missed while saving Leon & Claire.

In the beginning of the game, both characters arrive at a gas station just outside of Raccoon

City. Did you notice their personalized license plates?

Leon's jeep is Matilda, the same pet name he has given to his handgun and a reference

to Natalie Portman's character in the 1993 movie the Professional.

Claire's Harley Motorcycle is Made In Heaven, a Redfield family motto of sorts written on

the back of both her jacket in the game, and her missing brother's.

Did you also notice the original Japanese RE2 release date on the door, and inside Herb's

Healing Ice Cream in Red Yellow Green and Blue, just like the healing items in resident

evil.

You probably knew that if you bought the deluxe edition of RE2 you can swap out the new soundtrack

for the classic one. However, did you know that if you exit back out to the main menu,

the classic title screen voice of RE2 returns.

"RESIDENT EVIL 2"

And the old title screen eyeball…is shown once again at the end of the game...

Brad Vickers was a character killed by Nemesis in the RE2 prequel section of Resident Evil

3. By completing a special task in the original RE2, Brad would appear as a zombie under the

stairs outside the RPD holding a key that let you change costumes.

In the Remake, Brad is back under the stairs! Only this time he is less a zombie and more

a 90's style job fair poster. In this room you even get a KEY that lets Leon change his

Costume. Very funny Capcom.

And yes, we still think these holes in the wall were caused by Nemesis and his rocket

launcher, not Mr. X. RE3make anyone?

In the original RE2, if you searched Wesker's desk 50 times, it would uncover the STARS

leader had a creepy photo of Rebecca from Resident Evil 1 hidden away on a roll of film.

In the Remake, the 50 search trick no longer works, BUT Capcom did end up adding a different

secret in the game to activate the desk, and wouldn't you know it, that same creepy photo

is back.

The desk also contains the classic STARS photo from Resident Evil 2. But there is still no

sign of the Back to the Future 3 Cast photo on the wall in the original.

"Great Scot!"

Also In the STARS office, is a bizarre letter from Chris Redfield talking about babes and

his European Vacation "Look Kid's Big Ben". I mean his Euro Trip "Scotty Doesn't

Know."

In the original RE2, Claire, STARS and any bad guy who happened to be walking by found

Chris Redfield's detailed plans to take out Umbrella in Europe sitting right on his

desk.

In the remake, it was replaced by a coded message for STARS that was designed to throw

Umbrella off the scent. Not even his own sister could understand it.

"This does NOT sound like Chris".

The note does point Claire to Europe, which is actually the catalyst and foreshadowing

to the events and adventures of Claire in Resident Evil Code Veronica.

"FATHERRRRRR"

We covered this in the demo, but a note found in the west office details the events that

took place in Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. Office Rita Phillips escaped through the

lobby of the RPD through a secret passageway. The developers even used this detail to create

the new passage to the lower level in remake.

In our last video we told you about the RE7 magazine from the future in the RPD, Jack

Baker's scribblings on the wall, and The return of eating pipe. But did you also know

the same creepy life size mannequins from the legendary RE7 demo can be found in a storage

room?

Originally RE2, was headed in a different direction. This scrapped idea is known as

resident evil 1.5, and elements that never made the real game have been resurrected in

the remake. The most obvious is this bonus deluxe edition costume, the same worn by Elza

Walker in RE 1.5. Elza eventually morphed into Claire. They also added the shooting

range area from 1.5. Even Mr. X's hat and Ada's trenchcoat came from the old design

phase of Resident Evil 2.

Capcom also included a bunch of easter eggs from other games they develop:

A Raccoon City restaurant called Mikheil's Pierogies, is a reference to a villian/hero

character in Resident Evil 3. A Raccoon City shop called Arukas, spelled

backwards is a reference to a Capcom street fighter character named Sakura.

An RPD locker says JoJo, a reference to popular anime character that Capcom made a game about

in 1998. Mr Raccoon, the statue you have to shoot,

is from REsident Evil Outbreak. And a note on the wall references Jill's Sandwiches,

a reference to RE1 as well as to Capcom's Dead Rising.

And the big Dead Rising Easter Egg, a poster found around the city advertises Frank East,

a photographer in a zombie apocalypse. In Dead Rising the main character is named Frank

West…a photographer in a zombie apocalypse.

"I've covered wars you know"

And finally, we mentioned this in our previous demo easter egg series of videos, but it is

just too good to leave out.

In the original game, the cops are throwing a party for Leon's first day. But there

is one problem…they spelled welcome wrong on his sign…W E LL C O M E…with 2 L's.

So, In the remake they did fix the spelling error…but…AFTER the fact. Look on the

nearby desk…there is a letter l. L. And look up. A space where the missing L was before.

So they did spell it wrong again, but somebody pulled down the L before it was too late.

But even still "It looks like your party has been cancelled"

So far thats what's been discovered….but if the past tells us anything it is that we

are going to have even more secrets and easter eggs to find as we play more and more of our

favorite game, resident evil 2 Reeeemakkkeeee!

Crimson army, did we miss any easter eggs, secrets or call backs again? Let me know in

the comments, watch our previous 2 demo easter egg videos and don't forget to like and

subscriiiibeee!

Rachel Notley. Fighting for you and your family - Duration: 1:05.

A government that comes from everyday Alberta, works for everyday Alberta.

I am honoured by the trust that Albertans put in me and in all of us.

I am prouder still of the work that we've done.

But my friends, that job is not done.

This century can be, it will be, Alberta's century if our conviction remains that we

can achieve more working together than we can working alone.

That we are our sister's keeper.

And that the politics of hope always trumps the politics of division and anger.

That is my conviction and that is why I'm not done fighting because we have only just

begun.. and oh, by the way, my name is Rachel Notley and I am running again to be your Premier.

uMake 3-Day Course - Backpack - Part 2 - Duration: 4:35.

Welcome to part 2 of this series. Let's add some surfaces to the bag.

In the first lesson we created this initial sketch.

Make sure the ends of each curve are touching each other.

Let's make some surfaces now!

Double tap on two or more curves to be able to create a surface.

Once a surface is able to be made, you will see a green shade appear.

Tap the "Create Surface" Icon in the middle

A surface has been created!

Let's do that again! Select two curves, then tap the "Surface" icon.

Now let's create a surface from 4 curves. Select 4 curves

And tap the "surface" icon in the middle.

and repeat for the back of the bag!

The bag is now surfaced. Congratulations! Let's change the surface color and opacity!

Tap on a surface to select it.

With the surface selected, the Top Menu changes. Tap the surface color.

Tap the Opacity setting in the top and then adujst the surface opacity if needed.

You can select multiple surfaces and change them this way.

There we go! The surfaces of the bag are looking good!

Now lets add some straps!

Tap and hold on the upper corner to create a sketch plane

Create another Sketch Plane with the bottom corner

Then from the side view (Right) Sketch a curve between the two corners.

Great! You can see that a surface was automatically created. Lets delete it.

Double tap the surface to select it, then tap delete in the side menu.

Great! Now we have the curve for our straps!

Lets turn on Symmetry (Z Axis again)

Now double tap to select the 'Strap' Curve we made

Then from the side menu, lets use the "Mirror" Function to reflect the curve to the other side of the Z Axis.

Now we want to create duplicates of these curves. Select one of the curves.

Tapping the "Scisors" icon in the bounding box disconnects the curve if you try to move it.

But we want to make a copy of the curve. Tap Copy in the side menu

Then move the curve in just a bit like this.

Looking good!

Let's connect the new curves to the bag.

Under the snap tools, make sure "Connect to Curves" is still on.

Then tap once on the inner curve, and drag the end point to the curve on the bag.

Double check once again that everything looks the way you want it to.

Now add surfaces to the straps. Double tap both curves, then tap "Create Surface" icon.

Repeat for the other side.

Once again, check the design to see that it is to your liking. You can use the different views to help with this.

Looks good. In lesson 3 we will finish the bag!

Gladys Knight's Family & Kids: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com - Duration: 6:13.

Gladys Knight's Family & Kids: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

Gladys Knight will be singing the National Anthem before kick-off for Super Bowl LIII, between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams; the 2019 Super Bowl is taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, where the 7-time Grammy-winning American singer and songwriter was born and raised.

Here's what you need to know about the "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knight's family and kids:.

She Started 'The Pips' With Her Siblings & Cousins.

       .

Knight began her singing career in the 1950s when she was only 7 years old when she won The Original Amateur Hour TV contest.

Following that win, she formed a music group with her siblings, Merald and Brenda, and cousins, Elenor and William Guest, called "The Pips." The group eventually evolved into "Gladys Knight & the Pips" and had their first hit in the 1960s with "I Heard it Through the Grapevine." One of their biggest hits was "Midnight Train to Georgia.".

According to Biography.

com, when Brenda and Elenor left The Pips to get married, Knight's cousin Edward Patten joined the group along with Langston George.

She Has 3 Children From 2 of Her 4 Marriages.

Gladys Knight has been married four times; she was married to James Newman from 1960-1973, Barry Hankerson from 1974-1979, Les Brown from 1995-1997, and has been married to current husband William McDowell since 2001.

When Knight was married to Newman, they had two children together, Kenya and James III.

With Hankerson, Knight had another son, named Shanga.

Her Son Shanga Has a Chicken & Waffles Restaurant.

In 2017, Billboard reported that Knight went to court to separate herself from any ties to her son Shanga Hankerson's restaurant, including the use of her name, likeness, and memorabilia.

The restaurant was formerly called "Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles" when he started the business in 1999, but after the settlement, the name was changed to "The World Famous Chicken & Waffles.".

This settlement followed the news in 2016 that Hankerson was accused of " taking a total of $650,000 in state sales and withholding taxes.

Hankerson at first refused to remove his mother's name from the business; according to the Daily Mail, court documents said: "Plaintiff's claims are barred, in whole or in part, [sic] lack of mental capacity to rescind the license agreement granted to Defendants.

Her Son James Died in 1999.

Knight's son James, nicknamed Jimmy, was her manager through his company Newman Management Inc.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, James died in 1999 at the age of 36, and was survived by his wife Michelene and children, Nastasia, Gabrielle, Rishawn, Stefan, and Sterling.

Variety reported that Jimmy's cause of death was heart failure and that he died in Las Vegas home.

Kenya & Jimmy Encouraged Her to Join the Mormon Church.

According to LDS Living, Knight said "I raised my children to seek the Lord.

We had been searching for the best of the Lord, the most of the Lord.

My son Jimmy and his wife were the first to join the Church, after his best friend shared his testimony.

Then my daughter, Kenya, joined the Church.

I watched their lives grow, and to see how my grandchildren were being raised and what they knew really impressed me." After Kenya told Gladys it was time for her to join Relief Society, she did; Jimmy baptized her in 1997.

uMake 7-Day Course - Make a Bicycle - Part 2 - Duration: 10:38.

We will finish the wheel in this video.

Start by going to Photos, then my photos, then library.

We will bring in a reference image of a bicycle. We got this one on the internet.

Go to the side view and then drag in the reference image.

In the image settings, tap "Flip" to change direction.

Now lets scale the reference image. Double tap to select it.

Lets scale it up to match the wheel we made.

That looks about right!

Next we are going to create the 'hub' or the center of the wheel.

To do this lets turn symmetry on.

Select Z axis symmetry.

Next, to start, sketch a simple curve.

Then tap on the curve to edit it. Add control points to the curve and move them to get a shape like a hub.

Add points as you need.

We want a flat spot in the middle, with two flanges for the spokes. Make something that looks like this.

We are making the cross section of a hub. We will make a revolved surface from this, like we did for the tire & rim.

Make sure that the end point on the bottom is on the X axis-- this will ensure that the shape will be in the middle of the wheel.

Once we are happy with the curve, select it and tap "Revolve" from the side menu.

Adjust the axis of the revolved surface by dragging the handle down.

When you are done, the revolved surface will be reflected becasue symmetry is on.

Now we will start creating the spokes. To start, sketch a circle.

Scale the circle down a bit.

Move the circle in place. This will be the base of the spoke.

Next, tap extrude from the side menu. We will extrude the spoke surface.

Extrude upwards like so-- go a little bit above the wheel surface.

Lets make the spoke silver. Select the surface, and then tap the surface color-- change it to silver.

Lets put the bicycle reference image on a layer so we don't move it on accident.

Double tap to select the image, then open the side panel.

Tap on the layers icon.

Lets put it on the same layer as the other image.

Tap on the small arrow and open up the Layer options.

Unlock the layer, then tap 'Assign' to make the image part of the layer.

Next to lock it, we can simply swipe to the right to lock the layer.

Now back to the spokes!

Lets select the end curves and tube surface we made.

It looks like there may be overlapping surfaces (indicated by striped surface colors)

There is. If this happens, simply select one, and tap 'erase.' from the side menu.

There we go. Lets select the end curves and surface.

We want to group these together - tap "Group" in the side menu.

Now we will rotate the spokes a bit.

If the snapping gets in your way, rotate more than you need.

Then rotate back to get the perfect angle.

Lets move the spokes forward a bit.

To edit the spoke length, we need to ungroup them now. Tap 'Ungroup' from the side menu.

Move the end curve down a bit so it goes inside the hub.

Let's turn off symmetry.

Now we will move the spoke on the other side.

Select the surface and the end curve.

Now move the spoke back. We will align it with the reference image.

Rotate the spoke a bit.

Move it into place.

Now lets create the array!

Select the spokes on both sides.

Go to the Side view.

Then tap "Array" in the side menu.

Next, move the small green circle to the center of the wheel.

Then adjust the number of copies - we will use 16.

We now have 16 spokes on each side, or 32 spokes total.

Open the layers and then hide the reference image layer by tapping on the lock icon to the left.

This looks pretty good.
