Waching daily Feb 4 2019

I really don't care what one's background is what their color is what

their beliefs are ... we treat everyone as if they were created in God's image and

deserve love and respect. The first African-american to bowl in Tampa

bowled in the center on Armenia Avenue. Maybe a year later, I was contacted by a

group and they wanted to start a black bowling league.

It was 1970 when we started here. Blacks weren't wanted in a lot of places so, for a white

establishment to really welcome us and say "Hey, come on in!" I can't forget that!

From the bowling centers standpoint, we're colorblind and politically neutral. If a

person wants to bowl then they're more than welcome.

Well my husband and I used to go practice bowling and then we heard about the Hitters and Missers.

So we came over here and we joined the league.

That year the Hitters and Missers started bowling and continue to bowl today.

The Monday Mix Classic League is predominantly a gay league. I started bowling

in the Monday Mix Classic League about 31 years ago. A few years later we had the

largest league in Pin Chasers and probably one of the largest leagues in the city of Tampa.

I don't care whether you're homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual or any

sexual that I'm not familiar with. If you abide by the code of ethics and the code

of conduct, you'll be more than welcome to bowl here. If you want return

customers and you want support, you need to show that you can be open to all

types of people and I consider Pin Chasers to be very people friendly.

Pin Chasers is a fun place to be because of the staff - they get along with everybody that

goes along with caring and being personal. We want to be a family-friendly,

safe, fun place for people to go. When people are having fun, it's not really a

job. I've never worked a day in my life. I've spent a lot of time in bowling

centers - 60 years - and I truly mean that: I've never worked a day in my life

Powerful Panel Discussion Tip #185 with Jeffrey Hayzlett: Finishing Panel Discussions - Duration: 1:15.

Jeffrey how do you like to finish your panel discussions I usually try to wrap

it up with either letting them each say one thing they didn't get accomplished

in a really short amount of time that is their one key point that you want to

leave the audience with and or I like to leave it with what I took away from the

panel quickly you know very like I heard this and I try to compliment or bring it

out from the panel like a summary point of something like yeah you know and for

more information make sure you go watch the show listen to the show see the

tapes listen to the tapes whatever that you know the group has for the group and

try to tie it back into the organization this I always try to tie it back into

the value of why you're sitting on the seat you're at because you yeah that's

that's pretty good I mean we're there because of because of somebody organized

you

Course Messages in the Original Course View - Duration: 1:36.

Course messages are private and secure text-based communication that occur within your course

among course members.

Let's take a look.

Although similar to email, you must be logged in to a course to read and send course messages.

Messages activity remains inside the system, and you don't have to worry about email addresses

that may be incorrect or outdated.

To view the messages for the course you're in, select the Messages link on the course

menu or on the Tools page.

Instructors determine which links appear on the course menu and which tools are available.

If allowed by your institution, you can create personal folders to help organize your course

messages.

To begin composing a message, select Create Message.

On the Compose Message page, select To.

A list of all course members appears.

In the first box, select the recipients and then select the right-pointing arrow to move

them to the Recipients box.

Next, type a subject for your message, and use the options in the editor to format the

text of your message.

If your institution allows, you can attach files from your computer.

When you are ready to send your message, select Submit.

When you receive new messages, you will receive a notification in the What's New module

on the course home page.

And finally, when viewing a message, you have the option to Reply, Forward, or Delete the

message.

Ask Sallie Krawcheck: Why did Ellevest launch Elle Raisers? - Duration: 1:00.

Ellevest has recently launched Elle Raisers

because here's what we know —

we talk about this all the time.

We all know that money is power.

We all know that we women haven't had

as much of it as the men have.

We all know that each of us trying to do this individually,

each of us, doing it on our own

— it hasn't worked so well.

We all know that investing is a choice

that each of us can make,

and so we all know that us encouraging each other

to invest, referring each other,

working together, is the way forward.

And so Elle Raisers is a community of individuals

who are really committed to helping women advance.

And you become an Elle Raiser

by becoming an Ellevest client

and by referring friends as well.

Because when we go together,

there is strength in numbers.

What are the rewards?

Patients Matter - Duration: 3:24.

We at FDA know that, as experts on your disease,

there's much we can learn from you as patients,

caregivers, and patient advocates.

Here at FDA, we sometimes say that patients are the

experts in their disease and what that means is

that we think that patients understand best

how an illness, how a disease is affecting them.

I think that patients are the most under-utilized

resource in healthcare.

I think they have a wealth of knowledge that nobody

appreciates.

Patients in these rare disease communities - we

need that voice and that experience to be heard.

We heard loud and clear from the community that

although patient engagement has only

increased and improved over the last three

decades, that as we've gotten more complex, as

medicine has gotten more complex, as disease has

gotten more complex, it's harder to know how to

navigate us.

We also know it can be confusing, and even

downright intimidating, contacting the FDA to get

your voice heard.

To find the confidence to sit at that table and

participate is a trick.

And the trick is to have done your preparation and

to remember that they invited you because they

need and want to hear from you.

We're filled with healthcare professionals,

physicians, nurses, pharmacists, whose sole

goal is to help the person, help the patient.

We've set up a lot of avenues to try to get

patients engaged in the process here.

We've created a dedicated office for patient

engagement; we've set out a series of workshops to

invite patients in to talk to us about how we

regulate products and how we evaluate products as

part of our process.

So, what I would say is that our door is open.

We're looking to get patients involved in our

processes and we're going to have a lot more to put

out to address these, these kinds of issues.

So we designed this video series to arm you with the

tools to effectively advocate for your disease.

We'll be covering a host of topics, from FDA jargon

and terminology, to whom to contact and when, to

what really goes into the review, approval, and

safety monitoring of medical products.

Because at the end of the day, what matters most is

the unique perspective you bring to the work we do.

The responsibilities, as I see it, is to be that

patient community spokesperson and to really

bring humanity into what FDA and the research and

the pharmaceutical companies are doing.

Medicine is for humans.

If I can give patients one piece of advice, I would

say "approach the agency."

Our door is open.

Knock on our door.

We want to hear what patients are experiencing.

We want to understand how they're experiencing

diseases, how different illnesses are impacting

patients.

We want to learn from that, so it's very

important that we hear from patients and patient

groups, and not just groups that represent

patients but individual patients as well.

For more information on how you can get involved,

please contact FDA's Patient Affairs Staff.

Student Loan Repayment Options - Duration: 4:06.

As you prepare to graduate from college or career school,

it's important to figure out your loan repayment strategy.

It might seem intimidating, but don't worry.

This overview will help you understand the basics.

Here's what you should consider.

Consider whether it's a good idea to consolidate your student loans.

Consolidation combines your loans into one,

so you'll have just one monthly payment.

And it may lower your overall payment amount each month.

But there can be downsides.

For example, consolidation could increase the total amount of money you pay.

Now, on to repayment plans. Which one should you choose?

Well, it depends on your goals.

With a standard repayment plan, you pay a fixed amount each month.

This plan is designed to ensure you'll pay off your loan

within 10 years and minimize the interest you pay.

With a graduated repayment plan, you start with a lower monthly

payment, then the payment amount gradually increases every two years.

This plan also ensures you'll pay off your loan within 10 years, but you'll pay

more interest than you would under the standard plan.

Then there are income-driven repayment plans.

These plans base your monthly payments on your income level,

so they can go up or down as your income changes.

There's the Revised Pay As You Earn Plan, also known as REPAYE.

The Pay As You Earn Plan, known as PAYE.

And the Income-Contingent Repayment Plan, or IBR.

And the Income-Contingent Repayment Plan, or ICR.

If you're in one of these plans, you have to recertify to confirm your income every

year, but it's easy.

You just confirm or update your income and family size information so your loan

servicer can recalculate your payment.

These plans aren't designed to be sure that your loan is paid off within

a specific time frame,

but if you don't within 20 or 25 years, the remaining balance is forgiven.

All of these repayment plans have advantages and disadvantages,

so visit StudentAid.gov/repay for details.

Need help figuring out which repayment plan is right for you?

Use our repayment estimator.

It will help you estimate your payments under each plan.

It's a tool that gives you a good estimate of how much

your payments would be under each plan.

You can find the repayment estimator at StudentAid.gov/repayment-estimator.

Just fill in a few details, and it does the math for you.

Finally, you need to know how to make monthly loan payments.

You send loan payments to a loan servicer.

They handle the billing and other services on your loan

on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education.

Your loan servicer will provide instructions on how to make a payment.

If you have any questions, make sure to follow up with your servicer.

Not sure who your loan servicer is?

You can look them up and see your federal student aid history.

And here's a little payment tip:

Once you know where to send your monthly payment, it's smart to enroll

in automatic debit, or auto-debit, with your loan servicer.

With auto-debit, your payment gets taken from your bank account

automatically each month.

This way, you'll know your payments will be made on time.

Plus, if you enroll, you get a .25% interest rate deduction on your loan.

And there you have it. If you follow these steps, you'll be well on your way

to successful—and less stressful—repayment.

As always, if you have questions or need help, Federal Student Aid is here to help.
