New 3 Shin Godzilla from 1954,1989,2016 Vs Bull T-Rex Jurassic Park Gashapon Sega Unboxing Review - Duration: 10:37.

New 3 Shin Godzilla from 1954,1989,2016 Vs Bull T-Rex Jurassic Park Gashapon Sega Unboxing Review

okay guys super excited today I got

these awesome toys from odd Japan this

is the gash upon shin Godzilla set so

these are made by Bandai and they come

in three awesome eggs so these are

different Godzilla set so let's go ahead

and open one of them up I really like

the eggs to you could see inside it is

made by Vince I ok so it actually has a

tiny little latch here you pull on and

then you squeeze the side and it pops

open so these are also little shin

Godzilla cool ok so here is the little

pamphlet that came with it

chinese or japanese i'm not positive so

that is the M guy

so here it's a different version 1954

1989 2016 and some other way or the

other side and then you go ahead and

open it up and put it together so let's

go ahead and check this out these are

really cool little god you're worth it

so it does come in five parts to get the

guns ln then you go ahead and snap is

not too bad not too large and snapping

the other one go ahead and snap its tail

on so these miniature ones fit together

just like the big ones do so it's really

cool i like in the fact that they come

in today so behind that one you have the

big shin godzilla one and this is the

smaller one so you can see it looks very

similar to the big one so if you go

ahead and go down in they do a good job

on this one but like the bigger one each

one's don't really have moving parts I

mean to detail also especially for

something that's small but without

moving parts or more for display than it

but they do a good job even painting you

can see it's got like a little yellow I

like on the teeth they're like painted

on there so that's one of them and then

we got two more okay so let's go ahead

and check this one down ah also have a

link below the video on some of the

where you could buy some of the Godzilla

toys like I said this one I actually

bought on eBay so once again the

pamphlets pretty much the same you got

the 1954 1989 and 2016 Godzilla's there

so if I'm kissing I want to say that

they're giving you all three of these

Godzilla's so I'll just go ahead and

open it up and pick up the pieces ok so

once again five pieces you go ahead and

put it together the legs just snap right

there just have to get it at the right

angle once you get at the right angle

they snap in their pussies so these are

almost like you ever seem like the 3d

dinosaur off puzzle toys they're very

similar to that and it looks like this

is the 1954 version you can see it got

like a older more simplistic touch

look at the head there it's not as

vicious and mean working as the spikes

on the back so once again I mean detail

on these guys is great I love it that

they come in eggs and the painting of

these guys is superb for little Godzilla

toys I mean this is probably the best

painting I I am very

you know I mean just just the

workmanship I mean everything of these

the field to I mean these feel like good

quality towards it's almost like a

rubber plastic type of material and then

we got the final leg here so this must

be 1903 1989 version yes it does look a

little bit there okay so anyways let's

go ahead and put this guy together same

thing you've got three I mean five

pieces

you've got five pieces to put together

he'll snap together fairly easy not too

bad yeah the tail is definitely

different on this one than that last

version so this must be the 1989 third

ship but you can see the head there is a

little different and then spikes on the

back pretty similar but it seems like

the spike go down the tail on this one

and I mean even painting the toenails

and everything the claws on the feet are

awesome and the detail on these little

guys blows me away and the fact that

they come and eggs you could put them

together who's super fun so if you get a

chance definitely wide okay so there is

the three of them side by side you can

see the AH the earlier one 1954 it's got

a bigger more comical looking sad and

then the 1989 version and then by time

he goes in 2016 that guy just books

so there is the three of them shin

Godzilla set I mean there's the name of

the actual set it's not gesh Josh upon

HD Shin got deluxe set so that is

Oh guys that was a lot of fun and if you

enjoyed the video make sure you click

subscribe and thumbs up button down

below the video in today's secret word

is the word go ahead put that in the

comment section down below the video on

those you remember my club go to the

video ends there's and also incur lot

more fun with you and I click the boxes

below for a lot more fun video and if

you want to see even more go ahead and

Top 10 FASCINATING Facts About the CELTS - Duration: 11:24.

10 Fascinating Facts About

the

Celts

10.

They Probably Didn't Originate in Ireland

Your mind has just been blown, right?

Over the years we've come to associate the term "Celtic" with Ireland (thanks in

large part, in recent history, to the NBA team the Boston Celtics, whose logo is a leprechaun

covered in shamrocks).

But historians have concluded that the Celts almost certainly didn't originate in Ireland

– or Scotland, or Wales, or even England, for that matter.

Instead, their roots have been traced back to central Europe, with Austria being the

likeliest point of origin.

Emerging from the late Bronze Age along the Danube River, Celtic tribes are believed to

have initially lived throughout continental Europe.

Eventually, these tribes expanded north and did settle in the United Kingdom.

But when you think of ancient tribal warriors from Ireland, the odds are pretty strong you're

not thinking of the Celts; you're thinking of the Gaels.

Of course, even that is a little more complicated than it sounds, so we'll come back to that

later.

9.

The Romans Had Nothing On Their Roads

While Romans often get credited for being the road-builders of Europe, there's substantial

evidence to suggest that the Celts beat them to the punch.

Not that the history books would ever tell you that, because as we all know, history

is written by the winners.

And for the bulk of early recorded history, the winners resided in the Roman Empire.

When you're the biggest, baddest dude on the block, you can take what you want, including

credit for things others have done.

And according to some, that includes the building of roads.

Archaeological evidence now suggests that it was the Celts, and not the Romans, who

were the first to build roads.

Remnants of these roads would seem to indicate that they were constructed before the Roman

conquest reached the British Isles.

These roads were constructed largely out of wood, which was carbon dated to the Iron Age

– an indication that they predated the Roman Empire expanding that far north.

And speaking of the Iron Age…

8.

They Were Among the First to Utilize Iron Weaponry

One aspect of Celtic culture you're no doubt aware of is their reputation as fierce warriors.

They were also technologically ahead of their time, which gave them a pretty giant leg up

on their enemies.

After all, this is the group that invented the exact chainmail that was later adopted

by the famous Roman Legions.

That obviously flies in the face of old rumors that the Celts fought naked, since we can't

imagine chainmail would feel particularly great clanging against your junk.

But it wasn't just superior armor that gave the Celts an advantage in battle; it was superior

arms, as well.

The Celts are believed to be among the very first to forge iron into swords, replacing

the flimsier bronze swords most had been using up until sometime around 800 BC.

They also began to utilize smaller, lighter swords and daggers, also made of iron, around

600 BC.

These were far less cumbersome than broadswords, enabling the Celts to be more agile and quicker

to strike on the battlefield.

7.

The Celts Were Hugely Wealthy

While history often paints the Celts in broad strokes as being somewhat barbaric, savage

warriors, that's not exactly the case.

Sure, they did participate in some acts of barbarism, and many practiced ritual human

sacrifice.

And yes, we're going to get to that in just a bit.

But that aside, they were also massively wealthy, thanks in large part to being highly active

in trade of the time.

Being among the first to utilize iron certainly helped fill their coffers as well.

Gold was so abundant among the Celtic regions that they used it in their armor, weaponry,

and art.

Silver and bronze were also widely used, and they became renowned for their finely crafted

and ornate jewelry.

Their artistry was among the best in the world at the time, and their scientific and technological

prowess was a big part of that.

Through their art, their wine, their vast quantities of gold, and their advancements

in technology, the Celts were able to line their pockets very nicely indeed.

6.

They Had Slavery…

Kind Of

Now, to be sure, the Celts did indeed practice a form of slavery.

But – and not that this is justification or makes it even remotely better, in principle

– it was much closer to the serfdom of Medieval times than the actual slavery we're most

familiar with from history books.

And as usual when you're talking about tribes prone to war, many of these slaves were prisoners

of war who were held within the tribe's region and forbidden traditional rights and

privileges of anyone actually from that tribe.

When a prisoner was taken, or a criminal offered to the victim's family as restitution for

his crime, he was bound to that person or family for life.

He had no right of inheritance, was forbidden from taking up arms, and was more or less

simply the lowest rung of the sociological ladder.

Most of what we know of slavery in Celtic society comes from remnants of law texts from

places like Ireland and Wales, so obviously there are pretty massive gaps in the information

we've got.

That said, while you were afforded virtually no rights as a slave held by one of the Celts,

the consensus seems to be that treatment was still more humane than slaves of many other

cultures throughout history.

5.

They Had Progressive Views on Gender and Sexuality

While we can't exactly call the Celts progressive in terms of their views on slavery, we absolutely

can when it comes to women and sexuality.

Now, don't get us wrong: even in a somewhat progressive tribal society, it was still patriarchal.

But that doesn't mean women didn't have a say, or couldn't rise to power, or even

become warriors or dignitaries.

In fact, quite the opposite is true.

Particularly before the Roman conquest, Celtic women could lead tribes, as was the case with

Boudica.

Obviously, Boudica represents far from the norm, but was one of a few Celtic women to

rise to power and lead her people before her death circa 60 AD.

She was the queen of her tribe, and led her warriors into battle against the Roman Empire.

And speaking of gender and sexuality, one element of Celtic culture that's become

widely believed is that not only could women hold positions of power, but that Celtic men

often preferred the, ahem, "company" of other men.

It was commonplace for men to seek out sexual companionship with their fellow male warriors,

and likewise, women practiced free love in Celtic culture, according to historical records

from their contemporaries.

4.

They Weren't Savages But They Did Hunt Heads

As we've mentioned a few times at this point, the Celts were far from the barbarians history

has often painted them to be.

They were an advanced society, took great care and pride in their appearance, and were

wise enough to know it was an affront to wine connoisseurs everywhere to water the stuff

down like those simpletons in the Greek and Roman Empires.

But that doesn't mean they didn't participate in at least a few practices that might qualify

as barbaric and savage.

Chief among those practices – other than ritualistic human sacrifice, which we'll

get back to shortly – was headhunting.

As with ritualistic sacrifices, Celtic headhunting was driven by religion, for the most part.

You see, the Celts believed that the head contained a warrior's soul, so by taking

his head you are, in fact, capturing that soul.

At least, that's one popular theory as to why they hunted heads, though the exact reason

is not known, and likely varied from tribe to tribe, and warrior to warrior, particularly

since the practice continued even after most Celtic tribes had converted to Christianity.

3.

The Number Three Had a Huge Significance

We'll be delving into the religion of the Celts in just a moment, but a substantial

part of their belief system was the concept of "triplicity."

While that may sound like a knockoff travel website, in reality it has to do with the

number three.

Specifically, things coming in the form of 'triplets', so to speak.

That means three realms (Sky, Land, and Sea), and three types of gods (personal, tribal,

and spirits).

Now, the Celts didn't just have three gods, mind you.

They had many.

When we talk about the Celts worshipping three types of gods, we're talking about the kinds

that guide you when you're alone, the kinds that are with you when you're in groups,

and those that protect your home.

To put it simply, triplicity refers to three things that come together to form a whole.

It's an important part of cosmology and astrology, which were integral parts Druid

paganism.

Which leads us to…

2.

For Most of Their Existence They Were Polytheistic

Eventually, some Celtic tribes adopted Christianity as their preferred spiritual path.

But for the bulk of Celtic existence, they practiced polytheism; the worship of many

gods.

It's not unusual that they'd have worshipped numerous gods, considering the same was true

of their contemporaries, like the Greeks and Romans.

And the chief purveyors of Celtic polytheism, or Celtic paganism, were the Druids.

Believe it or not, much of what we know of the Druids and Druidism comes from, of all

people, Julius Caesar.

Obviously, that's part of what renders our knowledge of the Druids information that should

probably be taken with at least a small grain of salt, considering Caesar and his Empire

were frequently at war with the Celts.

Still, Caesar relayed that the Druids were teachers and priests, and also rendered judgement

and penalties resulting from crimes and squabbles within their tribes.

As alluded to in the previous entry, the stars played a significant role in the Celtic religion

and Druidism.

They also practiced ritual sacrifice to appease their gods (with the burning of Wicker Men

– sacrificial victim or victims inside – which will send a shiver down Nic Cage's spine

should he read this), and believed in reincarnation.

1.

The Celts Weren't Really, Well, "Celts"

Confused?

Don't be.

It's a lot simpler than the header probably makes it sound.

You see, the group you think of as the "Celts" isn't really the Celts, at least not in

the sense that the Romans were the Romans, or the Greeks were the Greeks.

That's because the Celts weren't just one group; they consisted of many, including

the aforementioned Gaels, the Britons, the Gauls, and the Galatians, among others.

See, "Celtic" really referred to language, and the somewhat similar dialects these various

tribes used.

That said, grouping all of those tribes together under one umbrella – which, again, was done

by contemporaries like the Greeks and Romans, since the Celts themselves didn't keep written

records – is probably misleading.

Some historians suggest that the languages were different enough, and the groups so spread

out (as far east as Turkey, all the way west to the Atlantic Ocean) that it's highly

unlikely most of the tribes were remotely united.

In fact, it's believed part of the reason they were ultimately defeated by the Romans

was because of their lack of unification.

In essence, calling a Gaul "Celtic" would be akin to calling a German "European."

Technically correct, but highly generalized.

The real goal of the mainstream media is to SUPPRESS and DESTROY human knowledge - Duration: 2:43.

The

real goal of the mainstream media is to SUPPRESS and DESTROY human knowledge

he real goal of the corporate-run media is to suppress human knowledge and prevent a

mass awakening of humanity.

The corporate-run media is not about informing, uplifting or educating humanity. Its not

about connecting you with important world events or bringing you insightful analysis

on finance, medicine, technology, politics, science or the environment.

Instead, the corporate-run media is all about distracting you from the things that matter

while indoctrinating you with falsehoods that have no basis in factual reality. The sinister

agenda behind all this is to keep humanity dumbed down, scientifically illiterate, and

cognitively redirected away from anything that might lead to greater awakening or freedom

to think.

The mainstream media, in other words, is the soma drug of the modern era, designed to numb

your brain, retract your senses, assault your curiosity and ridicule your awakening. The

programming by the media is intended to mandate your obedience, conformity and intellectual

homogeneity.

Its all under the umbrella of info-poisoning which is a far more dangerous assault on your

psyche than even the threat of chemical pesticides on your brain. Yet those chemical assaults

also exist in the form of prescription medications, mercury in vaccines, aluminum in the food

supply and pesticides on your lawn. Its a full-on assault against your consciousness,

your mind and your freedom to think. And its being waged every day by CNN, NYT, WashPo,

MSNBC and other freedom-crushing propaganda outlets for the simple reason that the most

dangerous thing in the world (to the status quo) is an individual who can think

for herself.

Rayjus Bass Tournament Jerseys and Shirts | Bass Fishing - Duration: 5:17.

Glenn: Hey, folks.

Glenn May here at BassResource.com, and you know, a lot of people ask me about my shirt.

They wanna know where I get it, who designs it, the whole nine yards.

So I'm gonna tell you, this is a Rayjus shirt, and with me here is Ray...

Ray: Ray.

Glenn: ...from Rayjus.

Now, Jus couldn't be with us today, right?

Ray: No, he's...took the day off.

Glenn: I figured as much.

You're the worker in the group, right?

Ray: I'm gonna always say that, yes.

I'm always gonna say that I work the hardest.

Glenn: I believe you.

Ray is the one who designed this shirt.

He came up with this concept and how it works and also a lot of the designs you see around

this booth here.

Ray, why don't you tell me a little bit about the jerseys first?

Ray: Well, the jerseys are...we make them right here in the United States, in our office.

And the nice part about making them ourselves is we have control of the fabric.

Not only the fabric but the artwork, how fast we can try to get some out the door, the quality

control.

But I think really what stands out about our jerseys and everybody else's jerseys is really

the fabric, how comfortable the fabric is.

Because we've taken that extra time, coming from the...Justin and I actually came from

the sporting world before we...the traditional sporting world...before we came to the fishing

industry with this.

So, we know how to pick the right fabric that's comfortable, that's moisture-wicking, that's

gonna be durable.

That's a shirt you can wear all day on the water.

Because, oftentimes, you see a lot of pros or anybody else, they'll just throw the jersey

on at the end of the day.

We wanted to make a jersey that you could wear all day.

Glenn: I do, I wear this all day long, I absolutely do.

It's very comfortable, great in the warm weather.

Even when it's cooler, I'm surprised how warm this actually keeps me.

Ray: Well, it's got the moisture-wicking, so it holds some of that in, and it does breathe,

but it makes you comfortable.

And, you know, we've taken the...oh, I'm sorry.

Testing, does this still work?

Well, we've taken it a step further with our OpenWater line, which we've really...it's

more of an everyday wear shirt if you're not fishing your tournaments, if you're out practicing.

It's...you're going to church in it, I say.

Some of our designs are nice and clean, where it still says, "I'm a fisherman, and I'm an

outdoorsman."

But we've added even more sun protection into that clothing, with different fabrics, different

weaves, anti-microbial stuff built into it.

So, we even have one style that's got a cool-touch fabric, where it feels cool against your skin.

And I'll be honest, when I got the fabric, I thought, "This is garbage.

This is not gonna work.

It's not true."

Well, I made a shirt out of it, and I froze my butt off when the wind came up.

So it really does keep you cool.

So, it's definitely something people want to check out.

It's openwaterwear.com.

Glenn: Okay.

Do you have any examples of some of the other styles of shirts that you have?

Ray: Matter of fact I do.

This is our Sinister.

It's our most popular shirt that we sell on the OpenWater, and I think it's just more

for the look of it.

You know, it's a functional shirt, it's got the same moisture-wicking qualities as our

jerseys and everything else, but it's got the fade in it which people seem to like.

It's got a little bit of our own camo that we've come up with.

You know, if you look at some of the older OpenWater stuff, you'll see a lot of this

camo being incorporated into it.

As well as a couple of other camos.

But this is really kind of our signature camo that we've licensed to companies that we use

with Strike King, and Mercury has used it as a co-branded OpenWater apparel, so...

Yeah, it's something we're really proud of, that anybody can wear, anytime.

You don't have to be a tournament fisherman or have logos all over your shirt.

Glenn: Right, you just want something comfortable to wear in the hot summer, when you're out

there fishing.

Even if you're not fishing, just something comfortable to wear in the warm weather.

That's awesome, man, that's awesome.

You also make a bunch of hoodies, too.

You know, you guys have seen me wear it in the videos as well.

The hoodie sweatshirts, very comfortable to wear.

Again, I get a lot of questions on it.

So, if you want this design, you don't have to have all the logos on it, you want this

design, you can go to BassResource.com.

You click on the upper menu there, it says "Gear," and then there's a link there that

says "Tournament jerseys."

You can get this jersey, and you can put whatever logos you want it, totally custom, your own

name on it, the whole nine yards.

Even the back here, you can design that as well.

Justin gets it, and he'll get those logos lined up for you, and ship it to you, and

you'll have your own custom-designed shirt.

That's how it works, yeah?

Ray: Perfect.

Exactly.

Glenn: And if you don't want this particular design, you want to pick something else, you've

got a whole line of...I mean, it's tons and tons of different designs.

Ray: We have 80 different designs that people...we have a builder online, where they can check

out all 80 designs, change all the different colors, move their logos around...I think

I spend more time watching guys build shirts on the back end, before they buy it, the different

combinations.

And that's really what it is.

I mean, you really want to spend time laying everything out perfect for your shirts.

And I know some people make money doing this, so they want to have the logos in specific

positions.

So they want to make sure they're moving this one higher, or this one lower.

You can do all that yourself, right on our builder.

Glenn: Yeah, that's awesome.

That's an awesome app, it's really cool.

So it's Rayjus...?

Ray: rayjus.com

Glenn: rayjus.com.

You guys gotta check it out.

Sorry Jus couldn't be here, he's the lazy one, but we have Ray, who...he knows it all,

anyway.

So, go check 'em out, guys.

I think you're really gonna like these shirts.

Ray: Cut.

9 Things You Never Knew About Chronic Pain | Useful info - Duration: 10:04.

9 Things You Never Knew About Chronic Pain. please leave your comment after watching this

video.

Chronic pain management A throbbing head, a crick in the neck, allover

muscle tension—yeow!

Chances are you're no stranger to these kinds of everyday aches and pains.

One in four Americans say they've had a bout of pain that has lasted more than a day, according

to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But, fortunately, there's plenty you can do besides pop ibuprofen to work out the kinks

so a sore back or a bum shoulder doesn't slow you down.

There are even lifestyle moves that make a difference.

Here's what you need to know to ward off pain—and feel better if you're already hurting.

Women are more prone to pain.

Women report feeling more intense physical discomfort from almost every kind of ailment—whether

an ankle sprain or diabetes—says a study from Stanford University.

(Lucky us.)

Experts aren't clear on why, but research suggests that a mix of hormonal, genetic,

immune response, and psychological factors are involved.

Research from the University of Michigan, for example, has found that fluctuating estrogen

levels during a woman's menstrual cycle may play a role.

When the hormone drops, so do pain-dampening endorphins, making the body less able to handle

discomfort.

Another theory points to cultural expectations: "We know that men are often compelled by stereotypes

to act tough and manly," says Roger Fillingim, PhD, director of the UF Pain Research and

Intervention Center of Excellence at the University of Florida.

"So they may be reporting less pain than they really feel.

By the same token, women may be encouraged to report pain."

Rest is not always best.

Back spasming?

Shoulder aching?

Your instinct may be to move as little as possible.

But doctors actually now recommend the opposite for minor muscle aches and joint pain.

"We often tell patients to resume normal activities—including exercise—as soon as possible," says Jennifer

Solomon, MD, a physiatrist at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Research supports the advice: One review found that people with lower back pain who were

advised to stay active had less pain and better function than people told to take it easy.

You may also want to ask your doc about a strength-training program or course of physical

therapy for the part that ails you.

A 2015 study found that the sooner people got PT for lower back pain, the less likely

they were to receive surgery, spinal injections, or opioids later on.

Migraines worsen at this stage.

As if mood swings and hot flashes weren't enough, perimenopause seems to bring on more

migraines as well.

When researchers looked at 3,664 women with these hellish headaches, they found that the

risk of having frequent head pounders rose by 62 percent during perimenopause.

"Risk was highest at the later stage, when women have low levels of estrogen," says lead

study author Vincent Martin, MD, director of the Headache and Facial Pain Center at

the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute.

The good news: Hormonal therapies, such as the birth control pill or an estrogen patch,

may help, says Dr. Martin.

Some natural painkillers work.

Acupuncture: Research shows that this technique, a staple of traditional Chinese medicine,

may help reduce the frequency of tension headaches and relieve chronic pain in the lower back,

neck, and knees.

Chiropractic: Chiropractic treatment involving spinal manipulation may work as well as conventional

care for lower back pain for up to 18 months, per a study funded by the National Center

for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).

And a review of research found that the technique may be helpful for neck pain and migraines

as well.

Yoga: Another study funded by the NCCIH revealed that people with chronic lower back pain who

took up Iyengar yoga, a practice that focuses on proper alignment, experienced decreased

discomfort and less disability after six months.

Massage: Not only does it feel ahhh-mazing, but research has shown that this manual manipulation

of muscles, ligaments, and tendons can help alleviate chronic lower back and neck pain,

as well as knee pain from osteoarthritis.

Certain foods may help—or hurt.

Cherry juice may help: Folks with knee osteoarthritis who drank eight ounces of tart cherry juice

twice a day for six weeks had improvements in pain and function, per a 2013 study.

Sardines may help: These fatty fish (and others, like salmon, trout, tuna, and mackerel) are

chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids, which help fight inflammation.

Olive oil may help: A study published in the journal Nature found that a compound in extra-virgin

olive oil called oleocanthal has anti-inflammatory effects similar to those of ibuprofen.

Sugary drinks can hurt: Women who consume at least one sugary soda a day have a 63 percent

greater chance of developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA) than those who don't, according to a

Harvard study.

Steak can hurt: Another Harvard study found that diets high in red and processed meat

can increase the risk of RA—possibly because they trigger an inflammatory reaction inside

the body.

Refined grains can hurt: People who ate the most refined grains had the highest levels

of an inflammatory protein in the blood, revealed a study published in The Journal of Nutrition.

Rain might equal pain.

A few common truths—and lies—about pain you should know.

The weather can affect your pain: Maybe.

People with hip osteoarthritis reported increased pain and stiffness when humidity and barometric

pressure rose, according to 2014 Dutch research.

But a 2017 Australian study looking at lower back pain and knee osteoarthritis found no

weather-related link.

Your heart health can impact your joints: Possibly true.

A 2016 Australian animal study found that high cholesterol appears to cause the breakdown

of cartilage cells—and may ultimately lead to osteoarthritis.

The finding makes sense, since high cholesterol is connected to inflammation, which affects

the joints.

Cracking your knuckles causes arthritis: False!

Several studies on habitual knuckle crackers have found no evidence that the habit leads

to a higher risk of osteoarthritis.

That "pop" you hear is bubbles bursting in the synovial fluid that keeps joints lubricated.

But there is one reason to cut back on cracking: Some research has linked it to swelling in

the hands and decreased grip strength.

What to know about fibromyalgia.

There's no simple test for fibromyalgia, a common cause of musculoskeletal pain among

women between 20 and 55.

Doctors make the diagnosis based on a clinical exam: "One of the criteria is widespread pain

throughout your body—meaning on both sides and/or above and below your waist—for at

least three months," says Houman Danesh, MD, director of integrative pain management at

the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

First-line treatment is often lifestyle changes, like reducing stress and exercising regularly.

Your doctor might also prescribe meds, such as antidepressants, to help ease pain and

fatigue; antiseizure drugs, like pregabalin, may also be effective.

What to know about taking opioids.

Opioid medications, like oxycodone and codeine, attach to opioid receptors in the brain and

body to reduce the perception of pain.

They can also produce feelings of euphoria and relaxation, and they can be highly addictive,

warns addiction specialist Indra Cidambi, MD, medical director of the Center for Network

Therapy in Middlesex, New Jersey.

So take them only when you really need to, she advises—if you're in crippling agony

after an accident, say, or you just had major surgery.

In general, limit your use of these drugs as much as possible: "Most of the time, for

acute injuries, you don't need it for more than a few days," says Dr. Cidambi.

If your doctor wants to give you an opioid for longer than a week, ask whether there

are other options.
