The Boss Minion Welcomes You to the Game - Duration: 1:52.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Welcome to Disrupting the Culture of Silence: An Escape Room Experience.

You lucky folks thought you were going to have fun today. Well, I'm sad to say, but you're luck has just ran out.

Minion, lock the door!

Now that the door is locked, the only way for you to escape is to stay critically conscious.

Or as the kids these days say, "Be woke!"

If for any reason at all you feel uncomfortable during this activity, feel free to leave.

But just know, you can't come back!

If you make it through, the rewards will be rich!

This escape room experience is going to discuss: racism, sexism and its intersectionality

through the perspective of the mass media, individual, and community.

Are you ready for the rules?

You'll notice that the room is divided into three separate areas.

Your first task is to divide into three teams.

Make sure they are in equal number, or as close to it as possible.

All that you will need for these next activities will be provided to you by my minions.

So please do not manipulate the room in any other way.

There are three puzzles that you must complete. Each puzzle will give you a clue.

And you'll need all clues to get out of the room.

I'm feeling generous today, so here's what I'm going to do for you.

I'm going to give you a few of my minions who will help you through any of these activities if you feel stuck.

Oh, by the way. You only have 25 minutes, and your time starts now.

Weird Things You Didn't Know Your Body Could do - Duration: 2:09.

Although every one of us is different, we all have bodies that can do tricks and weird things we have never even heard of before. You actually never know what your body can do these days.

3. Get Rid Of Brain Freeze

There is a simple and quick fix that will prevent that sudden headache from forming. Just press your tongue against the roof of your mouth as hard as you can.

The harder you press it, the faster it will prevent that brain freeze headache from sneaking up on you suddenly. The main reason you get a sudden headache after drinking something cold way too fast is because the nerves

at the roof of your mouth freeze from the cold beverage. Since they freeze, your brain overheats causing a strong and sudden headache.

2. Slow A Rapid Heartbeat

Often times, we tend to get scared easily or nervous about something and our heart starts beating really fast.

If something scared you so bad that your heart feels and sounds like it is about to pop out of your chest, blow on your thumb.

That's right! By simply blowing on your thumb, you can calm that rapid heartbeat down because there is a nerve there that controls your heartbeat and is controlled by just breathing.

1. Achy Joints Can Predict Weather

You know that saying about achy joints predicting the weather? Turns out it is true!

The reason why is because when a storm or colder weather is coming in, the pressure of the atmosphere drops which increases pain in the joints

because the sensory nerve endings can tell when there is an increase in joint fluid pressure making them achy. So, next time someone tells you a storm is coming because their joints are achy, listen to them!

Tess Greymane/Lilian Voss - Patch 7.2 Follower Quest [Lore] - Duration: 5:20.

Hello everyone!

With patch 7.2 we have Maiev Shadowsong on the Broken shore who informs us that we need

to rally a new champion to bolster our ranks.

The rogues go back to the Hall of Shadows where Jorach Ravenholdt aknowledges the progress

made on the Broken Shore, but thinks it's time for the more suble tactics of the Uncrowned.

We've received word of a large cave off the main island, where powerful demons meet

to plot our downfall.

There's actually a different in follower depending on what faction you play for.

The Horde gets to party with Lilian Voss, former unwilling forsaken turned into assassin

of the scarlet crusade with a burning hatred for necromancy while the Alliance gets to

party with Tess Greymane.

She's the daughter of Genn Greymane and together with Tethys they've formulated

a plan but will need our help to see it through.

At Dead Man's Bay in Azsuna we meet up with tess and tethys who are here to collect a

cache of gunpower, infused with some sort of fel power.

One of the leaders of the pirate forces named Master Gunner Prix currently has it, but a

dagger to the throat quickly changes that.

As soon as we take down Prix, word will spread like wildfire amongst the crew in the area.

They've forged some orders in her handwriting that should send them away and buy us some

time.

We plant the orders in specific locations, for example the news that the gunpowder was

taken by the harpies, which sends the crew away from us and towards Highmountain.

Then there's Tethys who 's got his own motives for being here.

Last time he was here, there was a bit of a debacle.

There was some drinking, some gambling, and a bit too much rum which lead to them taking

his stuff.

He'd be grateful if we could take a torch and burn their belongings so of course we

help out our favorite pirate captain.

Crackers, Tethys' companion thinks the old pirate is lame, a very bad pirate and we're

much better so he wants to become our companion.

With that, the first phase of the plan is complete.

Now we return to Jorach to bring him the news, who sends us to an island with a cavern full

of exceptionally powerful demons and their leaders.

If our plan succeeds, these demons will be...'blown to smithereens' as Tethys so nicely put

it so together with either Tess or Lilian we make our way to the top of the mountain,

slaying a fair bit of demons along the way.

"No time to waste, Shadowblade.

Let's get to the top!"

Admiral Tethys now has a hozen hanging on his shoulder since you can't find any loyalty

in the feathered folks.

Crackers might have left him shipwrecked, but he can't be a succesful pirate captain

without a proper matey!

Nanners is his new partner and he's been right handy!

Who needs anways?

Nanners is a much more useful crew.

You keep telling that yourself Tethys while we hang out with the way cooler Cracker, make

our way to the top, ready to infiltrate the cave.

"Use the rappel point to drop into the cave.

I'll relay further instructions then."

Use rappel "At the bottom, you'll find the cache

of gunpowder you previous acquired.

You'll want to pick that up.

Also, it's best to not be seen in here.

These demons are brutal!"

Pick up fel infused gunpowder cache "Good – that trail of power left in your

wake will come in handy.

Now to work your way out of the cave.

On your way, you'll want to drop extra explosives.

Wouldn't want to disappoint Tethys now, would we?"

In the lost temple we see the demons having a little meeting and it seems like we arived

just in time.

The eve of their attack is nigh and they will notify the summoners shortly.

They will open the portals on their word only, summoning in forces that our 'foolish'

legionfall offensive will have no chance against.

Our demise shall be delivered, so lets make sure to plan a fair bit of explosives in the

cave without being spotted.

"You've almost done it!

Now get out of there and light the power with the match Tethys gave you.

Hold on...he forgot, didn't he?

How did I know?

Looks like you'll need another way to light that powder!"

A volatile felblaze is just the ticket to light up the gun power and set off a glorious

explosion.

Tethys is moved to tears by its beaty and the crew will make sure all the demons are

truly defeated.

We'll leave that up to them as we make our way back to the order hall to inform all of

the council of our success.

We walk the shadows and that often goes taken for granted, but without us, the Armies of

Legionfall would have a great many more powerful demons to deal with.

We do not need the fame, we reap the rewards and after such a success, we have either Lilian

or Tess willing to step up and join the cause.

Lilian believes that so long as the Legion extends their influence on our world, they

will continue to corrupt our people as well.

She would like to continue to work with us to end this madness while Tess Greymane took

a step back while her colleagues already pledged their service to us.

Though all rogues step in the shadows, it is of vital importance that her status remains

truly secret.

However, the threat is simply too great, we are so close to taking the Legion down and

she wants to take a greater role in it as our brand new champion.

Another powerful ally recruited to our cause and we have bolstered our strength against

the Legion once more.

That is how rogues obtain their new champion which means we've reached the end of the

video.

Thank you very much for watching everyone, subscribe if you like my videos, leave a like

if you enjoyed this one aaaand until next time guys...see ya!

Robert Herjavec & Amanda Brinkman 'Meet Wabash' | Small Business Revolution - Main Street: S1E1 - Duration: 16:10.

(Herjavec) When you're driving into Wabash, Indiana it hits you.

Big cities tend to get all of the press, most of the glory

and a disproportionate amount of the money in this country.

Too often we forget about the 120 million Americans

building their homes,

their businesses

and their lives in small towns far from the limelight.

(Brinkman) I think a lot of Americans go through their day

feeling like we've lost something.

a sense of community,

a pace, and a size of life that feels manageable and kind;

an idea that we as human beings

are basically here to take care of each other.

But the more you get out in this country

the more you realize none of those things have disappeared,

they've just have been happening while we weren't looking.

(Herjavec) But something else happened while we weren't looking.

Our economy changed fundamentally

and no one was hit harder then small towns and small businesses.

(Brinkman) These towns have to reinvent themselves.

And if we don't help them do that

we will lose those communities and that way of life

and I think we'd miss it.

That's why we're here in Wabash,

because this is worth fighting for.

(Announcer) small towns across the country

are fighting for their survival,

with the odds stacked against them.

But what happens if we join that fight,

if we dedicate a little money,

a lot of experience,

and thousands of hours of work,

in the one small town;

focusing on the businesses at the heart of their main street.

Nearly 10,000 people wrote in

to tell us about their favorite community.

And the country voted for one winner.

Now, marketing expert Amanda Brinkman and her team at Deluxe,

are going to work for the people of Wabash, Indiana.

And they've brought along entrepreneur Robert Herjavec

to help revitalize the town.

Every episode we're working with a new small business

To see if we can change the odds.

If together, we can start a revolution.

(Brinkman) Here we are in downtown Wabash.

(Herjavec) I like these awnings.

- Yeah the awnings are great.

- Look at the buildings.

So gorgeous.

(Downs) I've been here since I was 11 years old.

My dad took a job here.

I went away to school,

and then made the decision to come back to Wabash,

to live, to raise a family,

and to start a career.

This was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.

- Right here on Market street this is kind of the main drag.

- This is small-town America.

It's gorgeous.

- Look at this beautiful courthouse

- Wow, I usually like not to go inside a lot of courthouses,

but that's a good one.

- That's a good rule of thumb.

(Haynes) you know there might be some debate,

best town in America;

I think we can wear that hat.

Why?

Have you met the people here?

- It's a good small community.

Everybody looks out for everybody else

(Emrick) You know I knew I could raise my son here

And he would be just as safe as I was.

I've traveled a lot,

but this is always been home.

(Flohr) Wabash is a small pond.

You're going to have a conversation with someone

who's maybe down and out on their luck,

you're going to have a conversation with the Mayor,

all on the same four block radius here,

it's the front porch of life.

(Long) Everybody can call me Scott.

Oh excuse me, no, Mayor.

And I'm like no,

I was Scott before and I'm going to be Scott after.

(Herjavec) I feel like I know everybody.

I'm just waving to everybody now.

That kid's like why did that weird man wave at me.

(Brinkman) This is the Honeywell Center.

- Oh wow, KC & the Sunshine band are coming.

What!?

(Morris) I love Wabash.

I have been here all my life

and I'll be 58 in September.

(Smyth) I think you'll go along way

to find people as friendly as they are here,

and is willing to help you out.

(Flohr) That's what I love about Wabash.

We are that neighbor who helps out,

but you have to be.

[train whistle]

(Downs) Years ago Wabash was booming.

And then like a lot of the Midwest

just started losing industrial base,

population,

and the entire community suffered.

Downtown started dying.

(Brinkman) so then right outside of downtown

you have a little more of kind of challenging neighborhood,

it's not filled with residents.

(Herjavec) We're only a block from downtown

and the buildings are all not in great shape.

- Right.

(Blocher) when the factories start closing

and people were moving out,

we lost quite a few people,

all at once it seemed like within a stretch of 10 years, or so.

(Long) We had a local tire factory that shutdown

and that was a loss approximately 800 jobs.

We saw a lot of mortgage foreclosures;

it was a story all over the country.

Over the last 20 years

the population has shrunk

from about 14,000 down to a little over 11,000 right now.

(Henderson) What do you end up with?

You end up with a shell of a community.

Walmart and a Target out on the edge of town

and no personality, no love.

(Long) How do you combat that?

We're like every other town in America.

Nobody's beating down our door to locate their factory here.

So, do we need to reidentify who we are?

(Downs) If the downtown is going to come back to its full potential,

it's going to happen through small business owners.

Our goal is not to make it like it use to be.

Our goal is to make it better than it is.

(Brinkman) when we open this Main Street contest up to the public,

we were honestly kind of shocked by the number of people

who voted for their favorite small town.

And I don't think Wabash won because of their old buildings,

or picturesque Main Street;

though they do have all of that.

I think they won because so many people saw themselves in Wabash's story,

and then they saw this small group of people

who are willing to do

whatever takes to save their town,

that's what we want to be apart of.

(All) Good morning.

- Christine nice to meet you.

- Robert, Mayor Long. Welcome to Wabash.

- Steve Downs, welcome to Wabash. Glad to have you here.

(Herjavec) What would you say the biggest challenge,

if I was a small business owner here

and you woke me up in the middle of the night

and you say "what your biggest challenge as a business owner"

what would I say? What do you think people would say?

(Downs) Lack of population base,

I mean, we are not big enough.

You can't support all of these stores

strictly on what's here in Wabash.

- Is the average age of the population rising?

- Yes.

Absolutely, no question about it.

- I'm in the tech business

and one of the number one thing that attracts young people

is quality of life.

- And that's what we're going for,

I mean over the last few years

we've really focused on revitalizing the downtown area

economically and aesthetically.

And once we get that going and bringing people in,

then it will expand and kind of help the entire community.

- But you have to have a job.

- That's number one.

(Long) One of the things this community was so dependent on

for years was the automotive industry;

we have to diversify.

- I think you have to look at the small businesses.

If you can have a sustainable small business culture

within Main Street then that lasts.

(Flohr) But that's the gap I keep seeing.

We are really great at rallying around small businesses

to help them start.

But then all the not so shiny parts

of running your business and turning the open sign on...

- Reality sets in.

-We aren't offering that kind of support

that's the sustainability piece.

How can we ensure them access to the help that they need?

(Brinkman) I love that idea because I mean,

you know part of what we're here to help with is the marketing piece,

but there's the legal or account piece, there's inventory,

there's so many other things that they need to be thinking through.

Wabash isn't alone in being a small-town

that has small businesses

that might have a passion for what they're doing

but maybe not have the business training to run a business

are there things that we can do to equip them to still live that dream.

(Weaver) Good Morning Wade Weaver along with ya

on 105.9 the Bash and the My Bash Morning Jam.

Big day in Wabash.

We want to give a Hoosier welcome

to Deluxe's Amanda Brinkman and TV's Robert Herjavec,

here to give our little town a Main Street Revolution.

You may see them touring the downtown this afternoon

kind of getting the lay of the land,

and make sure you say hi to them if you do.

And also come by First Friday tonight

for some good food and local shopping

and the official Main Street Revolution kick off at the Eagles Theater.

See you tonight.

(Hayness) I love that they've named it The Small Business Revolution

and I don't think that they realized

that it was going to be the kind of revolution that it really is.

(Brinkman) It's kind of amazing to walk in to town

and see businesses already painting their facades

or working on their awnings,

just sort of excitement over having won the contest

it makes me feel like we've definitely ended up in the right place.

(Downs) I've live here over 50 years

and I've never seen anything like this

the town has really come together.

(Jolly) Everybody was getting on every day and casting votes,

trying to help out it,

was a wonderful thing to win it.

- What are these stores?

- This is one of the most well-known dress shops

in the area...

- This is another great store Thriftalicious,

Ellen's is another...

- This buzz of excitement,

it's really been an awesome thing for the community.

(Downs) A feeling of neighbors working with neighbors,

of friends being friends, of supporting one another;

I don't presume that we can solve the national problems;

but I think this is where it starts.

This building here is number one

on our endangered buildings list,

because of its location,

its appearance,

is simply one we feel that we've got to save;

they're old buildings,

virtually all have to be gutted and rebuilt...

- Wow that's a real challenge.

- Can we take a peak what this one looks like on the inside?

- You'll appreciate more what we're up against here.

If we can't save these buildings

and they start falling down

then we loose the possibility of bringing more people into the community.

If we can't keep bringing people into the community

these small businesses are not going to make it.

- How do you ever get your money back?

- Oh, no, no, no, no, this is not a business plan

that you would appreciate at all.

This is absolutely;

we have to find people with more money than sense,

it's not a practical decision,

a lot of it is not practical and I acknowledge that

but if you don't try you'll never get there.

- For sure

- And that's why we're here.

That's what the Small Business Revolution Main Street is about.

How can we make sure that these main streets come back

to the days of great?

- What makes this work is all of us together.

(Herjavec) You know it's funny,

if the town of Wabash actually came on Shark Tank

I'm not sure I'd invest in it.

There's a lot of challenges here,

but spending time with these people

you kind of stop thinking like that

and just start trying to figure out how to help.

(Brinkman) But we do have limited time and resources,

so if we're going to be effective;

we need to go in with some specific ideas

and a concrete game plan.

- What do you think we can do here?

- First of all I think that they already,

through the contest

and just who they seem to be as people,

it feels like they really banded together.

- I also definitely get the feeling

they want to change

that's a hard thing;

a lot of people are very resistant to change.

- They know they maybe need some marketing help as a city,

and that their small businesses could use that to really thrive

but are already in this really great starting place.

I feel like, it's not like we need to do a makeover.

I think we just need to kind of do an enhancement

and help them evolve a bit as a downtown.

- One of the things that really struck me

when we were walking around is,

they have this town center,

this theater call the Honeywell Center

that gets 200,000 visitors from out of town,

and I think that's a natural resource

we can help the business tie in to,

because it doesn't seem to be a lot of connection yet.

- It's just two blocks down right?

But it sounded like they're not bringing people

in to the downtown.

- Tony Bennett's coming here for goodness sakes,

I mean that's big.

- It is big, it sounds like they do draw from miles away.

- You know the other thing that struck me Amanda is

there is no signs,

like even the traffic flow from Market Street to,

is that Miami?

- Miami is there and then Canal.

- There was no sign.

There was nothing that said go this way for more great stuff.

So, I think when you want to attract customers,

not just outside, it could be from the next block

and I think we could really help them with that.

- Signs are a great idea to get people to go over

to the businesses on Canal,

'cause Market itself is so charming already.

- As we go through the town

let's explore some of these things with people.

(Brinkman) So we've got the beginnings of a plan.

We know we're going to be focusing on the downtown,

which is just a four-block radius.

We know we need to bring people in,

both tourists and Wabash residents

and we need to get them shopping local.

We think the Honeywell Center can help us do it

and we want to work not only with the town,

but with six individual businesses

that are really anchors for the community.

The Deluxe team and I can help them market themselves more effectively,

and work with local contractors on physical improvements,

while Robert focuses on the nuts and bolts of

operating a small business

But before we get any further

what we really need to do

is meet the people of Wabash.

[applause]

(Downs) Welcome Wabash.

Hello.

It is my very distinct pleasure to welcome all of you

to this afternoon's festivities.

We have two very special guests with us this afternoon.

Would you please give a warm Wabash welcome

to Amanda Brinkman and Robert Herjavec.

[applause]

(Brinkman) It is so great to be in Wabash.

These small towns are what make this country great.

So, we are about to go through a transformation,

a journey together.

And so wouldn't it be incredible

if we could inspire other small towns,

to band together the way you have.

(Herjavec) Isn't that great that you can grow up in a community

where you have support of other people.

And this is what you have in this town.

You have everything here

that you need to be successful.

It doesn't matter where you're from.

It matters what you do with what you're given.

(Flohr) How do we rebuild?

How do we go from a smokestack mentality

into something that is more culture driven,

more local?

You start with the core,

of where community began.

(Griffith) Nothing but amazing things are going to come from this.

We're in the movement of

bringing new generation of people in

and appealing to the younger generation of our community.

(Haynes) There's something different here,

There's something special here

These are people that really do care about each other.

They're willing to invest their lives

into making Wabash into something greater.

(Brinkman) We've got a lot of work ahead of us,

but being here,

I'm just overcome by this feeling

of how much we can accomplish

when we're really together.

I think sometimes we under estimate

how good people are capable of being.

or maybe we just forget.

Wabash is a good reminder.

Join us next time when we go to Harry's Old Kettle Saloon,

have a drink,

learn about the business,

and see what we can do to help.

Online Nominating Portal Tutorial - Duration: 7:26.

Hi, I'm David White.

Thank you for your interest in serving

as an elected leader of the largest

entertainment union in the world.

Today, I'm quite happy to introduce

a new online system that allows members

to efficiently complete this nomination process.

The following tutorial

briefly walks you through each step.

Thanks again for your interest

and I look forward to seeing you in the fall.

Hello.

In this tutorial you'll see how to use

the new online nominating portal for

the 2017 SAG-AFTRA elections.

Members can register as a candidate,

request petitions,

submit election materials,

obtain required signatures online

and review the status of their eligibility.

thanks for your interest, let's begin.

After logging in the 2017 SAG-AFTRA

elections page is where you'll find all

election-related materials.

You can request and manage your petitions,

review the notice of nomination and elections,

see candidate instructions,

governing election policies and constitutions

and find other useful information.

For example, let's request a petition to run

for elected office as a San Diego local member.

After selecting the link,

you'll see a drop-down menu option

for "Select Election."

Three elections are available,

National President,

Secretary Treasurer

and your assigned local.

After selecting the San Diego local election

you'll be prompted to complete

the petition request form.

An important reminder,

the nomination deadline, which varies by

local, is at the top of each form.

You'll see a listing of all open positions

the position title is bold and the

additional titles indicate other positions

that you'll serve by virtue of election.

Please review the important note

for your election which allows you

to run concurrently for certain positions.

After selecting the open

position or positions you'll move to the

next section here you'll be asked to

enter contact info for all candidate

related communications from staff on

behalf of the Elections Committee.

Your contact info will remain confidential

and used only for communications

regarding your candidacy.

Please note, your SAG-AFTRA ID and professional name

as indicated on your official record

are pre-populated fields and may not be changed.

Next you're required to complete

the remaining election forms

let's quickly review them,

consent to serve,

ballot name verification

information for media inquiries

photo release and indemnification agreements

and a notice regarding prohibitions against

certain persons holding union office.

When you submit the form an automatic request for an

eligibility check for each position will

be forwarded to the governance

department expect to receive eligibility

info on the manager petition page within

three business days if possible contact

Contact info will be provided for each election

if you have any questions.

So with all the required forms now completed

select "Submit and Request Eligibility Check."

You now get a confirmation page here and

receive a time date stamp receipt by

email which will contain all the

information in the form just completed.

You will also be provided with a link

where you can: sign your petition

monitor petition signatures received

review the preliminary eligibility status

of your candidacy

and submit materials for the

voters guide - photos and statements.

You're now ready to sign your petitions

and forward to other members in your local.

Next you can click here to review

the Manage Your Petition page.

This page is your "dashboard".

It lets you manage your petitions

and other election-related functions.

After signing your petition

you will be brought to your online petition page

eligible members of the local

can sign all your petitions by

clicking "Sign All Petitions"

or sign only individual petitions

if they do not want to sign them all.

As you can see, if you sign "Sign All Petitions"

you will receive a confirmation box

to nominate yourself for all of the positions.

You can then select "Sign Now."

The petition page will show you have signed all petitions

and cannot sign the petition again.

Since you also need other members in your local to

sign your petition, to meet the minimum

requirement for signatures for each position,

let's go back to the Manage Your Petition page

and select the "E-mail Your Petition" button.

This allows you to send an email

from your browser's default email program

with a link to 'my petition page'

to members in your local.

Or you can cut and paste the link into a new email.

Whatever you prefer.

When they receive the email and click on the

address they will be prompted to login

using their sagaftra.org username and password.

This ensures they are eligible

to sign your online petition.

Let's review the rest of the page.

Each position selected using the

online petition form will be listed.

Once eligibility is reviewed it switches from

"Pending" to "Eligible" or "Ineligible."

Next, you can monitor the number of online

signatures received versus the number required.

When you've met the required amount

"Pending" switches to "Eligible."

At any time before the nomination deadline

you can also upload and change your

photo and statement for the voters guide.

To upload a photo click the profile icon

and choose a photo for each position

once uploaded you can preview the photo

to make sure it's correct.

To select a candidate statement for each position

select the paper/pencil icon.

You'll see a pop-up box that includes a link to the

current policy for candidate statements.

This will help ensure your statement

is in compliance.

Once entered, just save your changes.

You can change your statement any time

prior to the nomination deadline.

If you don't think you can get enough online signatures

to meet the requirement for each position

you can download a blank petition form

and cumulate online and paper petition signatures

or just use paper petition signatures.

If you obtain all the

required signatures online,

there's no need to download a blank petition.

Additional signatures are not required

since only eligible members can sign

your online petition.

If your browser settings do not allow the PDF to open

please find the PDF Guidelines on the

Election Materials page for instructions

on how to change your settings.

One important note.

At any time prior to the

nomination deadline you can withdraw

your candidacy for any position

by clicking "Withdraw Candidacy."

Or you can scroll down to the bottom of the page

and request a petition for additional positions.

And finally, on this page,

you'll also see an administrator code

candidates may permit other SAG-AFTRA

members to help assist with the petition

process and submission of materials for

their candidacy.

To authorize access to your Manage Your Petition page,

simply provide them with the administrator code

However, note that administrators cannot

request additional petitions manage your

contact information or withdraw your candidacy.

Remember, if you have questions

please click on the "Election Materials" tab in

the upper right corner.

You'll find contact info

in the Notice of Nomination and Election.

Or refer to the direct contact information

at the end of your time date-stamped receipt email.

Thank you for your interest in serving

the members of the union.

We hope this tutorial was helpful.

A Model for Today | Kaiser Permanente - Duration: 2:36.

[gentle piano music & cheering crowds]

It evolved from those conflicts to probably

the biggest and longest-lasting labor management partnership

for sure in the country if not in the world.

The Kaiser partnership is, I think,

a shining example and the best example

of how you bring labor and management together

to produce results that truly is

something we can learn from and replicate.

[music]

We co-lead the team.

We co-lead the pharmacy

and I'm a co-lead for the clerks out front

and then Bao is the co-lead that runs the whole pharmacy.

It's not my voice over hers or hers over mine.

Yeah.

It's together. It makes everything better

because we have that partnership.

I know that if there are things that I may have missed

then she'll cover me or vice-versa.

Kaiser Permanente works with 28 different unions

to provide good pay and benefits but also educational programs

and avenues for employees to help improve quality and care

throughout the company which is why they are considered

one of the premier health organizations in the country.

The labor/management partnership is the relationship structure

where we all work together.

You have a forum or a place to go to say let's talk about that.

Let's hash it out.

Let's get other people's perspective on it.

What better place then to go with the people that are

actually delivering the care before you get into the room;

you know, the person that roomed the patient,

the person in the lab,

the person who gives the free blood pressure checks.

The people that are doing the work get a chance to say

we can do it better.

We can do it better. Here's how.

You know, it's nice if we all get along

but most importantly

we're here to get the results.

What I love about this model is the notion that

no matter where you are working in the system

that you have a place at the table

and that your voice is heard, you are respected,

and through your union is how you are provided access

to make the company better and the care experience better.

[music]
