Waching daily Apr 26 2017

Hello, I'm Valerie

and I'm Natasha.

We're a small team of Product Marketing Managers for YouTrack and Hub

and welcome to our board!

We manage all the activities related to the Marketing for YouTrack and Hub using this board.

We follow a kind of Scrum methodology, but with our own blend of spices.

I used to have seasonal sprints like Fall and Summer, when I was the only PMM in YouTrack and Hub.

When we became a team of two people, we started to generate more tasks and switched to monthly sprints.

Our board is different from the boards used by product teams

because we interact with various operational teams

like Product Development, Design, Developer Advocates, Web, Internet Marketing, and Research.

It requires tracking tasks related to one activity in multiple projects.

Many of these projects have their own set of states, that's why we merge several states into one column on our board.

This way we combine similar states of different projects into one column.

We put open, waiting, and submitted issues in the first column and resolve issues when the task is fixed.

We create separate swimlanes to organize the tasks that are required for a specific marketing activity,

like launching a campaign, releasing a new version, publishing a series of blog posts, or building a partnership.

These major efforts are shown as swimlanes and are identified by issues that are assigned the "Feature" or "Epic" type.

Sometimes it takes several sprints to finish a swimlane.

We also keep uncategorized cards to track separate tasks that are not related to any major activity.

The board configuration is pretty tricky, as we track issues from 20 projects on the board

including Marketing, YouTrack, Hub, Design, and WebSites, which has its own set of values for the "State" field.

For example, some projects use "Done" instead of "Fixed".

We manually assign issues to the sprint

because we only take issues related to YouTrack and Hub from this whole bunch of projects.

We initiate a lot of the tasks that we assign to other teams, so we normally create them right on the board.

We use the backlog to track our plans for the future.

Whenever we have an idea, we add it to the backlog and then decide whether to take it for the next sprint or leave it for a later date.

The backlog search query filters issues from the "Marketing" project that are assigned to the "YouTrack" and "Hub" subsystems.

We split activities between the two of us by swimlanes, so I work on my swimlane, and Natasha works on hers.

Each of us defines the scope of activities for the epic task and creates all the appropriate issues for herself and other people involved.

When we start working on a task, we just pull a card from the "Open" column and drag it to the "In Progress" column.

The same thing happens to the cards assigned to other people.

They change the state from "Open" to "In Progress" when they take a task.

Everybody seems to want to use their own label for the feedback stage of the process,

which is fine. We just merged the "Wait for Reply", "In Review", "To be Proofread", and "To be Reviewed" states into one column.

As a card swims across the board, it's usually reassigned several times.

For example, when I finish writing the text for a blog post, I move it to the "To be Proofread" state and assign it to our Editor.

The new assignee is notified about the assignment, and at the same time we can see the progress on our board.

When the text is proofread, or review is done, the editor moves the card to the "Ready" column and reassigns it back to me.

When the post is published, the card gets to the final destination, which is "Done".

When all the tasks that are assigned to the swimlane are "Done",

we resolve the swimlane issue, collapse it and move it to the bottom of the board.

That's our recipe for tracking marketing activities on the board.

If you want to taste it, bake your own board following the recipe in this blog post.

Buon appetito!

I Play... Google Fued! - Duration: 9:49.

I think life is a dream okay so so are

you going to wake up in the dream and

then what the hell's gonna happen hello

YouTube my name is Bobby and today we

are going to be playing some Google feud

it's a game that I tried coming up with

a way to describe it but truthfully I

feel like the best way to is just to

show you guys how I guess how to play it pretty

much you just choose the category

usually I go between people and

questions because I'm not really good

with names or culture I guess um so I

guess questions and pretty much you

guess how does google autocomplete this

what if I lied on my so then you try to

come up with like what would be like the

most common search for it or how Google

would finish that so what if I lied on

my I would say test i don't i don't

know how you would lie on a test though that

yeah I didn't think that was going to

work but if I lied on my dating profile

what come on man okay what if I lied on

my stomach I don't know if that's how you spell stomach

she's all stomach cv what if I lied on

my CV I don't know what that is death

bed I wonder if that's like a song or

something answers resume oh okay that

that one would have been a smart one job

application oh my gosh bobby get off the pot bro okay let's

go to the next one can you die from

eating too much McDonald's that that's

what I would think is mcdonalds no? What?

gosh I guess I guess america has too

much McDonald's and that's all I think

about don't can you die from eating too

much too much what? too much food yeah

there you go can you die from okay we

finally got some points going on Pizza

Pizza okay there's a lot of people like

pizza yes whoo right

on okay if me I think tacos because I love

tacos so let's try that I'm gonna go

with my guts right now tacos oh come on man

tacos come on just like really too much

a fast food oh this one what oh come

on can you die from eating too

much weed okay come on humanity come on

humanity please oh get

out of here chicken nuggets okay that

would of been a good one salt I thought

about so salt, Sugar didn't think about sugar

candy I should have thought about that

man these ones were pretty easy this is

just a whole bunch of different types of

food like you would think that you would

just I guess you would like kind of

describe what food you would be eating

but really weed guys you guys I'm not even gonna get

started with that and what is the address

of the president mm-hmm because i'm sure

a lot of people wonder what the heck no one

wonders what the address of the

president is it's like what if you

I'm sure theres of a lot of people pissed off that

feel like I want to write a letter and

show them how to run a country having

come on yeah I'm gonna guess mcdonalds

again mcdonalds is in my blood right now

Donald dang it okay I know I know this

one might has to be one pew-deh-pie no!? the

White House the White House the White

House the white house are you kidding me I I

said the president I said the president

technically that oh my gosh what is the

address of my location ah that's kind

of a cool one that's kind of like a you

know Google do you know where I am

type questions the Empire State Building

Earth's in the cosmos Wrigley Field

where I am Santa Claus really Trump

Towers Trump Towers people would rather know where

the Trump Towers address what that

address is in the ... okay whatever i'm

i'm out of here next question should i

get a puppy that everybody in a movie

says you know you're depressed you

should go get a puppy

sure okay whatever should I get drunk

there you go a lot of people are

drinking problems and maybe they go to

Google to ask you know am I an alcoholic

son of a dude what is wrong with me a

job there we go, oh my lordy should I

get bangs yeah guys should I get bangs

really that's really what people that's

really what people are wondering should

I get a flu shot that's kind of a good

question should i get sun or moon i'm

pretty sure that's a pokemon thing a

dog okay a puppy and a dog oh my god

Google you are too specific these are

two things now two things now that I

just wasn't specific enough I mean a dog

and a puppy you got you guys would have

been like Bobby you really guessed a dog

and then you guessed a puppy yeah okay an

Apple watch I'm out of here next

freaking question all right now I'm

going to instead of choosing questions

I'm going to choose people and see how

much more different is how does google

autocomplete I don't know what big difference would be my

cat likes to eat man i think i i when I

played this game earlier i think i got

this question i don't remember what one

likes to eat food likes to eat dog food okay cool

okay yeah your cats really unique okay

domino's pizza of course I was wrong

Bread? wow that was the top three I guess

my memory kind of kind of did remember a

little bit of things I didn't really

think that the bread was gonna be

something uh Rah-coe-lee I don't know

how to sell broccoli grass what whatever

how does a google autocomplete okay my

friends are all okay I don't have any

thats probably why i don't have friends what would you

think google would auto complete

this my friends are all high on that

good stuff okay um alone

oh my gosh really my friends are all

dead getting married wasted I did

say drunk? no i said high on that

good stuff heathens oh my gosh I should

have freaking thought that one my

friends are all fake dead and buried

losers around me wasted and I hate this

club oh my there's not any good ones

there's not any good ones in here if you

look at it if you look at all these

other than getting married and married

none of these are good ones none of our

friends are clearly up to anything good

at all I think life is I guess life is

good I think life is back I think life

is whatever oh I spelt whatever wrong I

think life okay I'm kind of interested

to think what Google or what people

think like this I think life is a dream

okay so so are you going to wake up from this

dream and then what the hell's gonna

happen okay okay I think life is fake

well I ok I think life is about falling

in love ok life is meaningless these

are all kind of I mean a couple

you know that's perspectives there, life is

not real a game a gift Titanic okay um a

pet name Steve an illusion pointless

okay um you know I think we all kind of

go through this weird point in our lives

where we try to come up with why we're

all here and truthfully the reason why I

came up with why I'm here is because I I

just I want to be happy and stuff like

that that's why I think I'm here and I

could see people you know about falling

in love and all that but but blows my

mind the most is a people who think life

is fake or not real or an illusion like

either way if it's an illusion or not

real or fake if you if you slap yourself

in the face in hurts that's real okay if

you fall and hit your head and you're

asleep in a coma for two years and then

you wake up that's real okay so I don't

know where

they comes from that perspective of life

not being real because then what is real

get off the pot everybody please all

right everybody i think i'm going to sum

it up on this I didn't think these

questions were going to be as

controversial as I thought it was in my

mind I'm like I think before I started

this video I was less conflicted than I

am now but if you guys enjoyed this

video anyone we don't forget to be like

and if you're new to a channel don't

forget subscribe and other than that

thank you for watching and have an

amazing day

Ask Sophie - Q&A #28 | Sophie's World - Duration: 14:15.

Hi, I'm Sophie and welcome to my world

well today we have another installment

of question and answer and this one is

Q&A number 28 and i have to tell you

honestly I never thought we'd get to

half of this I never thought we'd get to

Q&A 14 it's amazing that you guys keep

asking questions remember if you have a

question put it in the comments down

below and as long as I haven't answered

it before in any of the 27 prior Q and

A's I will make sure to answer in the

next Q&A that we film okay let's get

started squishytoys wants to know

what's your favorite Disney movie okay

this is old school i don't know if any

of you guys have ever seen this movie

but my favorite Disney movie comes from

my childhood it scared the pants off of

me when i watched it for the first time

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang I was terrified

of the nose of the child snatcher

the guy with the nose oh my gosh he

terrified me but it was like a good kind

of terrifying I remember I actually hid

underneath the seat when we went to see

it at the movie theater but it

was great I loved it so Chitty Chitty

Bang Bang cuz I love love Dick van Dyke

I thought he was the best and he's just

amazing in that movie so my favorite

disney movie is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

and I know it's an old one but it's

still my favorite squishytoys also

wants to know do you have any Christmas

traditions that you have done since you

are a kid okay so Christmas traditions

that we've done since I was a kid

they've changed as I've gotten older and

moved away from my family but one

Christmas tradition is that I always

always always see my family meaning my

mom and my dad and my sister over

Christmas and most of the time now that

my husband's family his mom and dad have

passed away I spend Christmas Day with

my parents and my sister and that's kind

of a tradition that we've always always

had when my husband's parents were alive

we used to split our time back and forth

so it was not

every year that I got to spend Christmas

with them but I would always see them at

least after Christmas okay so that's a

biggie the second thing that's very

funny about my family is that we always

do stockings and everything in our

stocking has to be wrapped and usually

that stocking is filled with things like

like toothbrushes toothpaste floss you

know all those hygiene things that you

use those are usually in all our

stocking and they're usually every

single thing is always wrapped and then

the other thing that's funny about my

family is they love presents and it

doesn't matter what the present is the

present could be a dollar lottery ticket

it gets wrapped it gets a sticker it

gets a name and it gets put under the

tree because for my family it's all

about sitting around opening presents

and laughing and the funnier the better

like funny gifts are really great and

it's all about spending that time our

Christmas mornings are not a quick thing

they are usually like multiple pots of

coffee a break to have breakfast then we

go back you know it's it's a long

drawn-out wonderful morning that usually

looks like 3-4 hours and you have to

understand there's only six of us

there's my mom there's my dad there's my

husband there's me my sister and her

husband and the cats so I mean that's it

and for six people we go on and on and

on for like hours but it's a blast we

always have a lot of fun Oh what do you

eat on Christmas squishytoys wants to

you know that changes from year to year

used to be we always would have turkeys

sometimes we'd have a ham my husband is

an amazing cook and so this year for

Christmas he did prime rib which was

really fun he's done pork loin in the

past he loves to mix it up and he loves

to try brand new things every Christmas

but we always have mashed potatoes we

always have crescent rolls and we always

have some sort of vegetable like

Brussels sprouts I love Brussels

sprouts or like sweet potatoes so those

are the things they're always a constant

but my husband really

likes to mix it up at Christmastime

Butterfly Roseum asks do you and your

sister craft together a lot or do you

both work alone and get together when

you're done it's a really interesting

question butterfly because here's the

deal I don't know if you guys all know

this but I have a job that is making

parties for kids and it keeps me very

very busy and my sister works for me

full-time she is with me you know eight

hours a day five days a week sometimes

even longer if it's if it's a really

really busy time and the thing about it

is that we we don't get to craft

together my sister and I never get to

craft together which is a real bummer

because we do have fun on those rare

occasions that we can get together and

crafts but usually I'm crafting alone

and she's crafting alone usually what

I'm doing is I'm creating the crafts and

then I show her what I'm doing and I

give it to her and she creates like the

beautiful versions of things I create to

teach she creates to be viewed she's an

amazing artist I am more of a teacher in

that I like to create the things show

them to people and let them take off and

make them beautiful themselves and take

them in totally different directions so

we work differently she's an artist I'm

more of a teacher so the two of us work

really really well together but sadly we

don't ever get to work together it's a

bummer I mean sometimes we will be

side by side working on projects and

I'll be creating and she'll be making

beautiful things and that's a lot of fun

and we have a really good time and then

when we're at my parents house for like

Christmas we have a great time you know

working on little projects together but

if we don't get the time to have fun

crafting time together so to answer your

question there I hope that made sense we

craft alone and come together I love

this question Alyssa J says what do

you pour first the milk or the cereal

and this is a funny thing because my

sister my sister eats a lot of

breakfasts with me and she does the same

thing that I do I think I'm going to

have to ask her I pour in the cereal and

then I pour in the milk

and often what happens is i end up with

milk left over and then i'll pour in

more cereal which i know is terrible

because it's not good for for your diet

but I if I'm going to eat cereal I

usually end up eating two bowls terrible

to admit but it's true gianna g wants to

know what's your favorite sport I love

gymnastics watching gymnastics love it

love it love it love it now that's to

watch to play I love paddleboarding and

surfing love it love it love it love it

love it but as a sport to watch

gymnastics all the way what is your

favorite sandwich oh there's two so

here's the deal that's actually

four isn't it there's two I love

Bologna and cheese sandwiches but i also

love love love salami like hard salami

and cheese and both sandwiches I like on

a roll with mustard those are my two

favorite sandwiches and if I can have

Bologna cheese and salami man is that a

bumper crop day again I don't eat a lot

of sandwiches but when I do that's what

I crave that's a sandwich

I crave what is your favorite state I

love California which is where I live

but my heart belongs to Pennsylvania

which is where I grew up there's no more

wonderful state than Pennsylvania it's

just a beautiful state now California is

awesome and i also love new york state

but my heart belongs to pennsylvania

Girasol asks how do you stay in such

great shape is there any special diet

that you do um Girasol all i have to say

thank you very much i really appreciate

that comment because truthfully we're

coming out right after Christmas and I'm

feeling sort of large right now but truth

be told we always joke at my office

about the Sophie's stress-free soirees

diet and workout plan because when you

work for me we put in really super long

days and it's really really hard to take

time to get a chance to eat so we really

don't get to eat very much during the

day and also what we're doing is very

physical our job is very physical so

often we're like unloading trucks and

we're taking these big boxes and we're

carrying upstairs and we're going up

ladders and we're setting up things on

ladders up in the sky and you know doing

decor and stuff and it just it's a very

physical job as far as exercise I

paddleboard whenever I can because I

love paddleboarding and it's a great

workout I love to walk when I can I'm

not a great runner anymore i used to run

but I can't because of my knees but

other than that that's about it I work I

paddleboard and I walk those are the

three things i do as far as eating when

I am good I eat a small breakfast

usually of scrambled eggs and then for

lunch I have a salad and then for dinner

I have protein and vegetables so that's

pretty much what I eat when I'm eating

well when I'm cooking and stuff I love

soup too and I like to do soup so that

that's kind of how I stay the way I am

but as I said right now a little

overweight so anyway Thank You Girasol

for your comment family of seven dolls

says do you like Doctor Who you know I

used to love Doctor Who when I was

younger and had more time to watch

television sadly I never get a chance to

watch TV anymore and because of that I

can't I haven't seen the newest Doctor

Who's but I used to like Doctor Who when

I was younger and when I was in my teens

I thought it was I thought it was fun I

watched it on PBS that's how long ago it

was when I watched it when do you plan

to do more crafts for dolls I have got

to get back to the doll crafting i know

that and i will definitely i make a

pledge right now here and now that i

will do more doll crafting in 2017 I

promise promise promise promise in my

next big video shoot I promise I'll do

some more crafts for dolls promise

number three says

I noticed a game and a craft that would

be done in the rain on your website

would you ever put those on YouTube you

know it'd be fun to put so some of you

may not know this I have a website

www.sophie-world.com and on that website we

have games we have activities we have

crafts that don't appear in our YouTube

because we just have pages and pages and

pages I think we have like over a

thousand pages worth of crafts and games

and activities and all that sort of

stuff on our website yes anything that

appears on YouTube we have tutorials

pictorial pictorial pictorial picture

tutorials but if we if we have other

ideas we often don't put them on YouTube

just because it's too hard to film being

out in the rain might be too hard to

film but I love putting different games

and activities up i wish i wish i could

film every day and we could go out in the

rain when it's raining and do a video

shoot of rain games but it's not really

feasible because we have to plan our

time very very strategically often when

we do our videos we're doing between

eight and twenty of them at a time

because we just don't have time with our

really busy schedule which is making

parties for kids and the last question

here is actually not a question well it

is it says can you give a shout out to

Ruby because that's my name and part of

the reason that I'm giving Ruby a shout

out is because her handle is Ruby LOLOL

you funny H her last name let me just

say one little thing about shoutouts I

wish I could give a shout-out to

everybody who asks for them I really do

again the reason I don't do shoutouts is

because I have such limited time for my

video shoots usually my video shoots are

done in one day and I'm trying to get

through 20 of them and so to give

shoutouts all the time is a little hard

so I apologize you guys because I do

really really really appreciate that you

watch this channel and I appreciate

every comment that you guys write below

and I always try to respond with either

thumbs up to let you know that I've seen

your comment and I like it or I like to

respond to your comment if it's a

question or or if you have something

really personal that you've said to me

but understand I just don't have the

time and I really really wish I did but

I don't that being said if you have any

more questions that you'd like for

another Q&A meaning QA number 29 gosh

let's see if we can get to 30 huh Q&A

number 29 write them in the comments

section down below and I will make sure

that if it hasn't been asked before I

will answer it in my next Q&A for more

fun stuff come and check us out at

Avoiding Cliches: The Forest Setting | by Mysteries of Writing - Duration: 6:10.

Hello hello I'm Chandra from Mysteries of Writing if

you're new to this channel don't forget to press that subscribe button as I post videos

about writing the writing process and all things writerly and bookish

So today I'm doing my weekly Wednesday avoiding clichés series and today we're talking

about forests and fantasy novels have you ever noticed how forests are always in a fantasy

novel there's a whole amount of different places ranging from land sea and from outer

space that that you could use Well that's why today we're going on a

little trip around the world to see some other beautiful and mysterious looking places around

the world so grab your sunhat grab your sunglasses and grab a coat and something warm because

it might get a little bit chilly as well so just a quick little disclaimer unfortunately

I won't be able to put any pictures of these places but I'll be linking all of them in

the description box down below because of copyright issues so yeah

So since I'm in South Africa right now our first stop is going to be at Bourke's Luck

Potholes in Mpumalanga *doo do do do doo*

They are found in the third largest river canyon in the world so this is a river canyon

that's Blyde River's Canyon formed by the phenomenon of river water swirling around

and eroding away at rocks so this can be quite a mystical kind of place if you want to use

it instead of forests there's a lot of rocks and water

Our next stop will still be local we're going to the Northern Cape and we're going

to pass Namaqualand during the flowering season of course I know it's still early but we're

going to pretend it's August or September ok

*doo do do do doo* So basically Namaqualand flowers during August

and September and there's beautiful fields of flowers and basically you can use a land

form where there's lots of flowers as well for fantasy that could be a really cool setting

as well I think Now we're going to travel a little bit more

north and straight into Namibia where you find Skeleton Coast

*doo do do do doo* This place is basically deserty land and I

think you find skeletons there's pictures of boats on there I don't know the imagery

is great it could be really good for some fantasy books so a little bit more north east

from Namibia we're going to hit the Maldives *doo do do do doo*

And there's this beautiful sea called The Sea of the Maldives this sea has plankton

I think it is that in the night they just glow and it looks like a starry sea so that

could also be a different setting for a fantasy novel

So we're still going to travel a little bit more north and into Croatia

*doo do do do doo* So in Croatia thy have the Plitvice Lakes

National Park and it's full of waterfalls and lakes and it's just so beautiful and

now let's just snap to winter and think about how that looks so I'll link both of

those in my description but it's so beautiful and it works in place of a forest because

well there's still trees So a little bit more north in Denmark The

Faroe Islands *doo do do do doo*

No I'm not so sure how all of this comes together but there's houses with grass over

their rooves and literally this could inspire a lot of ideas for a fantasy novel as well

instead of going back to say the medieval times we could think about lands that already

exist nowadays And now we're going to travel to the United

States of America in Utah *doo do do do doo*

Sorry if I said this wrong but it's also another canyon but it looks a little bit different

from the canyon that I mentioned in South Africa but it also could be a very cool spot

for a fantasy novel because there's all these rock formations and they just it looks

different you've got to look at the pictures it's amazing and now we're going to travel

down to South America *doo do do do doo*

We're going to find Mount Roraima in Venezuela and basically it's this beautiful mountain

it's a butte and it's got clouds around it or at least that's what it looks like

in the images and that's very inspiring for fantasy novel settings and I just thought

that could be an idea as well And now we're going to travel off to the

Philippines *doo do do do doo*

They have Bohol Island where you can find Chocolate Hills so now this one is a mystery

in itself because no one actually understands how it formed completely but it's a whole

bunch of dome shaped little hills that are literally all together they are covered in

green grass that turns brown like chocolate and that's where it gets its name from so

by the Philippines there are people who are still known as the sea nomads and I actually

got this idea from a blog that I'll also link here in the description box where she

was also talking about different sort of settings and she's mentioned a whole bunch of different

landforms as well so you can go check those out they're also a great idea but basically

it's like sea nomads and then if your story lends itself to it then you can have some

settings just like that And now we're going to go off to New Zealand

where we'll find Waitomo caves *doo do do do doo*

And basically it's similar to the Maldives thing but there's some beautiful images

of people in boats and they're traveling through lakes and basically above them the

tops of the caves look like if they've get little stars all over them so it's really

cool Well that's it for now that's just a few

ideas and just think about it if I could name a few places just imagine how many other land

formations there are out there that could be used instead of forests and they all have

some sort of magical idea to them and now by all means this doesn't mean you have

to stop the whole forest setting if your story has to have a forest and you really want to

do that then I'm no one to tell you not to so go ahead and do it so anyway I hope

this video was helpful I hope you enjoyed it and if you did please give this video a

like share it with your friends and don't forget to subscribe

How Long Can You Stop Working Out? - Duration: 4:30.

It happens to all of us.

Injury, sickness, or lack of motivation, there will come a time where we stop working out.

This 'detraining' phase can be a rough patch considering that you might lose all

of your hard-earned results.

Fortunately, it doesn't happen immediately and can be avoided with the right approach.

So, how long exactly can you go without exercise?

If first depends on the fitness type.

Cardiovascular fitness tends to drop off first, with parameters, such as stroke volume, work

capacity, and cardio output, all appreciably dipping just after 10-12 days of inactivity.

VO2max, one of the core measurements of cardiovascular fitness, can drop by as much as 20% in 2 weeks.

Beginners are much more likely to lose everything, where one study found that after 8 weeks of

detraining, their VO2max dropped all the way back to baseline.

Athletes aren't completely off the hook.

Performance can drop by as much as 25% after 3 weeks, an extremely devastating amount for

any top competitor.

As for strength, it generally takes 3 weeks of inactivity before any significant drops

take place.

Athletes generally can get away with 4 weeks unless their sport requires high levels of

speed, power, and coordination, which dissipates as early as 2 weeks.

Muscle mass falls within the same 2 to 3-week window.

Some believe early losses aren't actually from muscle, but instead water and glycogen.

In fact, glycogen levels do drop by as much as 50% in two weeks.

And since glycogen retains water, water in the muscle will drop as well.

One study that used more extensive measurement tools found that 3 weeks of detraining resulted

in 0.7 kilograms of lost lean mass, all of which was water.

Visually, you might look smaller, but it's probably just less water and glycogen in your

muscles, which can easily be reversed.

As for the amount of time to lose actual muscle, it's hard to say.

To play it safe, we can still go by the 2 to 3-week estimate.

Age is also a factor, where older individuals can lose muscle mass quicker but not strength

or endurance.

Immobilizing injuries will also accelerate atrophy.

And worse yet, if you're completely bedridden from illness, studies show it only takes 1

week before everything goes bad, even insulin sensitivity.

As far as why this all happens, we don't truly know.

The best guess it that the body only intends to keep as much muscle as necessary since

maintaining muscle is energy-costly.

In short, you either use it or lose it.

So that's 1 to 2 weeks for cardio, and 2 to 3 weeks for strength and muscle.

For longer durations, you do have a couple of options.

The first is exercising less.

You can retain fitness by doing as little as a third of what you did before.

Instead of an hour workout, do 20 minutes.

Instead of 3 to 5 days, do 1 or 2.

Intensity should stay the same though, so keep lifting the same weight or running the

same speed.

You can also try different workouts, such as swimming instead of running.

For limb injuries, working out only the good side magically can benefit the injured side

thanks to crossover neural adaptations.

If none of these options work for you, then don't freak out just yet.

Fortunately, it's a lot easier to regain lost muscle and strength thanks to muscle

memory.

One part of muscle memory is skill retention.

Just as you will always know how to ride a bike, you will still know how to do a certain

workout efficiently.

The other part is increased myonuclei within the muscle from your initial training.

Once you develop additional myonuclei, which is important for growth and strength, they

remain even after long breaks of inactivity.

When you retrain, you skip the need to produce myonuclei, fast-tracking growth and strength.

And there you have it.

Breaks happen.

And quite honestly, extra rest can be a good thing, especially if you've been training

for a long time.

Hopefully the recovery will motivate you once more to jump back on the gain train!

And yes!

We now have shirts, sweaters, tanktops, and more!

All thanks to you guys, I finally pulled the trigger.

And it's only fitting that the first custom shirt made by yours truly is all about research

and how… it depends.

Since this is the first release ever, we have a special first edition with a snazzy logo

that's only available for 72 hours.

So if you want to snag one to symbolize your awesomeness, please check out PictureFit's

merch store in the link below.

Grand Mom Mom's House...Hurray!

Grand Mom Mom's House...Hurray!

Hi Guys...It's Zoey Again.

I'm just sitting around waiting for Zack

to finish up the last cake at the Bakery

for today and I was wondering

I was thinking...Hmmm??

Maybe I could think of

10 Life Hacks for Kids

So, here we go.

Number 10

Did you know that you can use Baking soda

in a "pinch"

if you need to brush your teeth

or even as deodorant.

Number 9

If you take a 2 Liter bottle of soda

and fill it with only dimes

by the time you reach the top

you'll have almost close to $700!

Number 8

Have you ever had heartburn

and you don't have any of the pills

you could take to get rid of it?

well

you could try a nice tall glass of milk

try that

and if milk doesn't work

try a can of coke.

It works EVERY time

Number 7

Have you ever been sitting around

with your friends and playing

hangman? Want the secret to win?

Use any of these words -

Zephyr, numb, myth or rhythm

they'll never get it!

Do you need a fun website?

try snesfun.com

that way you can play

old nintendo games

snesfun.com

number 5

this is a good one

Have you ever painted your fingernails

and had to wait

5 to 10 minutes for them to dry

well paint your nails,

then spray them with cooking spray

like this

they dry almost instantly

Number 4

Trying to make some homemade paint?

You need 1 cup of salt,

1 cup of flour

and food coloring.

and you'll have great paint...homemade too!

Number 3

Let's play the "haha" game.

Have you and your friends sit around

for a little while

one person says "ha"

another person says "haha"

then another person says "hahaha"

then another person says "hahahaha"

keep going and by the time you reach

number 10

everybody will be rolling on the floor laughing

and with REAL laughter too.

Number 2

Let's say you've got some dry feet

if you put some vaseline on your foot'

and then put a sock over it

go to sleep

when you wake up

you'll have warm, moisturized feet

it works EVERY Time

Uh-Oh...I think Zack is almost done

finishing up with the bakery

...all the cakes that we made today

so let me go ahead and finish up with

Life Hacks for Kids

Number 1

Have you ever gone to McDonalds

and you just don't know what kind of fries

you're gonna get?

the hard, crunchy kind

or the nice soft kind

it's almost like a 50/50 shot.

well...

if you go to McDonalds

and you ask them for fries with NO salt

they have to make a fresh batch

just for YOU!

and then you can put your own salt on them

but it will be nice, and hot

and fresh and just the way you like it.

so the next time you go to McDonalds

roll up or go to the window

and ask them for

french fries with NO salt

they will be perfect every time.

Oh, ok Zack, I am on my way!

Thanks guys!

American Tries READING DUTCH SIGNS in Amsterdam!! - Duration: 9:51.

Hey everyone, Dana here!

And right now I am in Amsterdam for the first ever Vidcon Europe.

Actually, the first ever VidCon outside of the U.S. anywhere.

And while I've been here in Amsterdam, I have seen some signs in Dutch, where I've thought, like,

hmmm I think that maybe I can read that sign or figure out what it says because of

my English and my German skills.

And the same with hearing people speak Dutch.

Sometimes I've thought, like, I think I heard a few words in there that I know.

So today we're gonna go to VidCon and play a little game that I like to call

What The Futch Is That Dutch?

Mr. German Man has found me a very tricky sign or two of them for my first attempt at

this game.

I have no idea.

Well, I see in this, in the yellow one, the word "weg."

W-E-G, like the German word "away."

This one, I don't know how to say this.

V-R-I-J-H...I don't...Vrrriihhh. No.

I don't know how to say this, and I have no idea what that could mean.

Okay, so in this sign I notice a few street names, and that I can tell because it seems

to be the same as in German: "Str." for street.

For "Strasse" in German or whatever it is in Dutch.

But that means street.

So there's two streets in there.

The first word we have "Kruising."

I think that's like the English word "cruising."

So maybe, ah, driving on that street is "aufgesloten."

I would say...afgesloten, afgesloten.

So maybe that's like, would be the German, "af" is like "ab," and "ge," you know so it's like,

it's saying what has happened to this street.

So maybe it's closed.

Perhaps that could be "afgesloten" is closed.

And bereikbaar...I'm thinking this B-A-A-R is like the German "bar."

I would say it's useable.

Like this other, the first street is closed.

Driving, "kruising," driving on the first street is closed.

But this other street is available.

Did I get it right?

I think I can really figure out a lot of the stuff here.

So "verboden" that would be like the German "verboten" I guess.

Not allowed. "Toegang." Maybe that's like toe in English.

So you're not allowed to go in.

Ah, I don't know what this means.

You're not allowed to go in.

Ah, "melden bij," so maybe that's like the German, so maybe you need to contact, ah,

I don't know what this is.

Maybe the landlord or something?

And then "betreden," so maybe "betreten."

"Terrein op eigen risico."

Okay so, you go in at your own risk.

I think I got it there.

So you're not allowed to go in...?

You have to contact something.

And then going in at your own risk.

That kind of confuses me.

You're not allowed to go in.

I guess you're not allowed to go in, but then you contact, then you're allowed to go in.

But still it's at your own risk.

I can help you. - Okay. "Voor onbevoegen." -Yeah? What is that, maybe?

"Bevogen." - Yeah. - "Befugt." - Okay, I still... -"Anbefugt." - I don't know that word in German. - German "anbefugt."

I don't know.

It's for, um, non-allowed people that have no right to be there.

Okay, so people who aren't allowed to be there are not allowed to be there.

People who are allowed to be there should contact - Maybe. - whoever this is.

But anyway, then you enter at your own risk. - Yes. - I think together we got it.

That gets a high five. Nice.

Alright, I think I've got this one even without the little pictures.

So I think it says "allen," or closest to that in Dutch pronunciation.

So everyone before the lines...um, you have...no.

I think I, no.

No, I don't think I got it.

I was gonna say you have to have...no actually I don't know what that would possibly mean.

Okay I go with "Alleen voor opladen elektrische voertuigen."

I think it's in German "Allein für, um, zum auf...alleine zum aufladen von elektrischen Fahrzeugen."

Oh. - The parking spaces here. - Yeah. - So, only for

charging electrical vehicles. - Okay. That makes sense.

"Denk aan onze kindern."

So I think that's "think about our kids."

You know, drive slowly.

So now I'm with Hilde. - Hi.

You're going to say a sentence for me, right? In Dutch. - Yes, yes.

And I'm gonna see if I can figure it out.

[Something in Dutch] - I heard YouTube in there.

And "Ik." I think that's something like "ich."

So that's like "I." Okay, one more time maybe.

[Something in Dutch] - I think I heard something about "film" at the end? - Uh-huh.

I'm filming a YouTube video! - No. - No. Ah, I don't know. Okay, I can't get it. What is it?

It's "I like to watch YouTube videos."

Say it one more time a little bit slower let's see if I can...- [Something in Dutch] - Okay.

Now I hear it. Like "kijk" is "like." Or no? - "Kijk" is "watch."

Oh, watch! You stumped me.

What's your name? - Roland. - Roland? - Yes.

Okay, and you're going to also give me a Dutch sentence. - I, yeah. - Okay. What is it?

[Something in Dutch] - Again? - [Something in Dutch]

I think, "I have to ask my mom." I heard "moeder."

Right, is that... - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - "mom"? And "vragen" is that like "fragen"?

Is that "to ask"? - Yeah. And what was the beginning part?

"Even." - "Even." Like, is that like "eben" in German? - Ah, yeah. - Like, right soon. Okay, what does it mean?

What did you say?

"I have to ask my mom," basically. - Hey, so I got it! - Yeah, you got it. - Cool!

I got one! - It's from a pretty well known Dutch song.

Oh really? - Yeah. - Okay, which song? - "Even Aan Mijn Moeder Vragen." - Okay.

Okay, so I found another person who speaks Dutch!

Yeah! - I'm with Catherine now.

And what is your channel?

What do you make videos about?

Uh, my channel name is Styling with Cath.

And, um, it's a mix, um, actually because I do beauty, fashion, also vlog a lot.

And I do some challenges, and I also give advice.

So it's a mix of everything.

And what Dutch sentence do you have for me?

Okay, it goes like this: [Something in Dutch] - Okay, so I think the first one was "hello."

Yeah. - And say the next one again. - [Something in Dutch] - What's up?

Yeah, it can be. But, yeah. - So what is it? What is it actually? - Um, how are you?

How are you? Okay.

Okay, so I don't think that sounded anything - No. - like German or English.

Okay, I have just come across this really awesome thing.

And it's got words written on it.

So first of all, I can already tell just by looking at this, it's just outside of a park

area and so I guess this is where people can put any things that they have found lost and

found items from in the park or around this area.

And, alright, let's try this.

"Vin...ah, vind je verloren voorwerp terug."

Or something like that.

But I definitely see one that I recognize.

"Verloren."

"Lost."

And that would make sense since this is clearly a place to put lost items.

What the rest of those words mean...I don't know.

I actually have no idea what "uitgezonderd" says.

I don't know, but I'm gonna put Mr. German Man on and maybe he can crack the code.

Okay, so, let's try it.

"Uitgezonderd."

I think that it, it...there's some clues here.

Um, I think this is a one-way street sign.

And there's a bicycle on it and a moped.

And "uitgezonderd," I would say in German "ausgesondert, ausgegrenzt."

So I would deduct from it that the bike and the moped are excluded from the rule of the

one-way street. So that they can go both ways. Am I right?

So my question for you is: Could you read these signs?

Do you know what they said or what the people that I talked to said?

And what language should I try next?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Jesus is Speaking. Are you LISTENING? - Duration: 2:39.

Jesus Christ is the good Shepherd and He takes good care of all His sheep, of all those who

believe in Him and who have accepted Him.

It is not His will that any of His sheep perish but that they all learn obedience and that

they walk in His ways.

If they stray or they do wrong, then He speaks to them, and if they do not listen then He

speak louder.

He often speaks through pain and suffering and when His sheep do not listen, then the

pain and the suffering becomes worse, because Jesus cares for them and He wants to turn

them from their wicked ways, to walk in His ways, so that they can bear good fruit and

not be cut off and burned.

Many of His sheep do not listen and they are severely chastised, and when they keep on

persisting in their evil ways they will get cut off.

Like Jesus said that every branch in Him that not bear fruit will get cut off and burned,

but He speaks first.

He warns and He draws them back to Him but if they persist in their evil ways they will

perish.

Jesus speaks to each and every one of His sheep.

Jesus might be speaking to you now, through pain, suffering, through your circumstances,

He is drawing you back to Him.

Do you hear His voice?

Will you respond, or will you persist in your evil ways and get cut off and burned?

The Spirit of God will not strive with man for ever.

We must listen, turn back to Jesus.

We have to bear good fruit to bring glory to Him and be suitable for His kingdom.

Jesus is speaking.

Are we listening?

May Jesus bless you.

Jesus Christ is alive and hell is real.

I am here to introduce you to Jesus Christ so that you can know Him and follow Him and

have eternal life.

Subscribe to my channel to learn more about Jesus.

May Jesus bless you.
