hi there, Vladimir here with another video on how to learn English
Every language learner's dream is to talk to a native speaker
every English language learner's dream is to speak to a native English speaker
some prefer Americans, others prefer Brits
if we could only have an English native speaker we will all be fluent in no time,
and of course when we say have we mean for free
I am here to tell you that there are plenty of native English speakers available for free
I will even say that they might be willing to pay to hear you speak
How and where can you find English native speakers to practice your English for free?
free, such a sweet sounding word
But before I give you the answer, there is something very important you need to know
Isn't that what most youtubers say before they answer a question, waste your time with
useless information, but I am not most youtubers
what I wanna tell you is very important
I wanna tell you is that it doesn't really matter whether the speaker is native or non-native
as long as they can speak OK English of course
if you want to practice your listening, there are plenty of native speakers available for free
Movies guys, Hollywood movies, watch movies, TED talks
that's the best way to practice your listening, it's free
and if you want somebody to correct your mistakes, I can tell you from experience
that mistake correction doesn't really work
having somebody correct your mistakes won't improve your English all that much
trust me
the goal of every language learner is to acquire the ability to self-correct and
the only way to reach that goal is to read a lot listen to a lot of English, and listen to your own voice
speaking is important but it doesn't have to be with a native speaker
But that's not what you are here for, you want to know where you can find
native speakers of English for free
On YouTube
Native speakers of English are also interested in learning other languages
you can offer an exchange, you teach your native language and they teach you English
go to the comment section of some of the most popular YouTube videos of
how to learn your native language
Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, whatever it may be, and l
eave your Skype or WhatsApp Viber info
and offer your language expertise
I personally believe that native doesn't mean the best but that's just me
do that, it is free and relatively safe
but did you know that there is even a way to get paid to speak English
all you need is have something interesting to talk about
something you are good at, or knowledgable about
Start a YouTube channel and talk about your hobby, or school, or work
you don't need to show your face,
just buy a good microphone and start a YouTube channel
in English of course
Talk about your favorite movies, or books, or cars, or fashion designer or how to make
sushi, or how to take pictures, or whatever you are interested in and good at
Prepare a script and just read it, make sure there are no grammatical mistakes
Prepare a script, read it and post it on YouTube
talk about the things you like and you are passionate about
We all like listening and communicating with people who are passionate about what they do
Plenty of native speakers will contact you and might even pay for your knowledge
don't tell them that you are doing it in order to learn English
Nobody wants to teach for free, but if you have something interesting to talk about,
people will happily talk to you for free and even pay you
If YouTube is too big of a jump for you then you could go on Twitter or Facebook and
join a discussion on a topic of your interest
in English of course
write a comment, share your opinion and I'm sure native speakers will respond
but again, don't tell them you are there to learn English
don't tell them you are looking for native English speakers to practice your English
just talk about your common interests and passion
photography, gardening, fashion, cooking, movies, books, cars, games,
at the very least you can start teaching your native language on YouTube
make videos about how to learn your native language
there are 500 million native speakers of English out there
I'm sure there are more than a few who will be interested in learning your native language
regardless of how minor it might be
and again, you don't need to show yourself if you are camera shy
there are plenty of other ways
Prepare a script and read it, but make sure there are no grammatical mistakes
there is a whole chapter in my book Virtually Native teaching you
how to write grammatically correct sentences
Virtually Native is available at Amazon and virtuallynative.com
