going to be open for the next two weeks

if you would like to find out a bit more

about Guy Gabriel Kay's books so you can

decide which one you'd like to win keep

watching let's start off with the key

things about Guy Gavriel Kay that you

should know before you try and read any

of his books. First off he writes

historical fantasy mainly although he

has written one tolkien-esque fantasy

series. So most of these books are

heavier on the historical elements and

they are on the fantastical ones, the

fantastical ones pop up here and there.

They're quite minor and they're not the

main thrust of the plot for the most

part and I wasn't sure about that when I

went in if I'd I like that because I'm so

used to typical high fantasy but that

actually really worked for me

I love historical fiction and I love

general fiction and I think that Guy

Gavriel Kay's works in particular will

appeal to people who share that because

his writing is really beautiful and very

evocative but at the same time it's not

inaccessible if you don't read a lot of

adult fiction I don't think you're going

to be lost trying to read any of his

books. Another key thing you should know

is that the sense of place and setting

is incredibly important in Kay

at least in his historical fantasies

because the setting in itself becomes

probably I would say the main character

of his novels. As I said his writing is

lovely and beautiful and evocative and

he really makes you feel like you are

there, like you can see everything that's

around these characters and that's

amazing. It feels like you're you're on a

trip with Kay, like you're seeing the

Byzantine Empire or you're seeing Sung

Dynasty China or you're seeing Croatia

in the Renaissance period and that's

really wonderful.

Another key thread to Guy Gavriel

Kay's books is art. What he's doing as a

writer is an art form, I don't think

anybody's going to argue with me over

that. His books are works of art, he's

also a poet and you will find that a lot

of the major characters in his book are

artistic so in under heaven we have

poets, in Tigana we have musicians in

the Sarantine Mosaic Duology we have

mosaicist and their art form is kind of

key to the plot and it's an interesting

thread that seems to trace its way through

pretty much all of Kay's novels. Even in

his tolkien-esque

fantasy the Fionavar tapestry a lot

is said about tapestry and making tapestries

and weaving even though the

tapestry is supposed to represent the

whole world and the Weaver is kind of the

god in the world who is weaving the

tapestry and controlling how things play

out and that thread of art as I found

it's just very interesting and it's a

nice way in which Kay ties all of his

different books together. Another key

thing because he writes a lot in Europe

in kind of medieval to Renaissance times

is a battle between religions. So we have

the Christians in Europe and then we

have the Muslims in the Ottoman Empire

however with Kay he renames everything

with kind of a pretty similar name so if

you're Christian youre a Jaddite and if

you are a Muslim you are an Asharite

the Ottoman Empire is called the

Osmanli Empire the Byzantine Empire

is called the Saratine Empire

and that's true all place-names are kind

of minorly tweaked so you normally know

where he's talking about. But yeah this

clash between religions - it's an

important theme running through a lot of

his books and I don't think he presents

one side as better than the other,

he's just presenting as the history

as it was. This was a reality that there was a

clash between religions and Kay is

representing it to you, you will see good

representations of people on both sides

and he doesn't favor one side or the

other. He's showing you history through

his books and yeah I just thought that

that was an important thing to mention.

Anyway the question I get asked the most

with Kay because you know I'm the person

who's read all 13 of his books is where

should I start.

So Guy Gavriel Kay will tell you read

all the summaries of his books,

obviously don't start in the middle of

the series but you know pick one that

sounds good to you and that's how I

approached it but I do actually think

there are three places that are easier

to start than others. There are some of

Kay's books that are better once you've

read his other books and there are some

of Kay's books that are quite weak and if

you start there you might never read

another book by him again. The first

place I would recommend starting is my

favorite book which is Tigana and

basically this is set in an alternate

medieval Italy. It's quite heavy on the

fantasy elements by Kay standards we have

two warring sorcerers who own different

parts of Italy and one is trying to push

each other off the land and then we have

this land called Thigana and Tigana

is now called Lower Corta I

think and basically the people there

have been made to forget the name of the

land and their history through the spell

that one of the sorcerers puts on them

and it's an examination of memory, of

identity and of our connection to our

people and to our land. We follow a group

of musicians who are trying to do away

with the spell and overthrow the sorcerers

and it's it's truly wonderful I love it.

It's also inspired by an Irish play

called Translations by Brian Friel which

is all about how

the English anglicized Irish place-names

and basically chipped away at the Irish

identity and the connection we have to

our land so as an Irish person naturally

I was interested in that and also I

studied that play at Leaving Cert so

I had kind of an intimate knowledge of

it and it was interesting to know but

that was one of the things that inspired

this novel. Another place you could start

is where I started which is with Sailing

to Sarantium which is the first book in

the Sarantine Mosaic Duology. It is set

in the Byzantine Empire and we follow a

young mosaicist called Crispin. He was

called to the capital where he is asked

to make a mosaic for the Emperor and

then the sequel Lord of Emperors is one

of my favorite Kay books and it is full

of political intrigue and it's all kinds

of wonderful. Another place you might

like to start is A Song for Arbonne

which is that matriarchal France and it

is wonderful.

It's one of Kay's lesser-known books but

it's, it's so good. So we basically have

matriarchal France which is warring with

a very misogynisticly ruled Germany and

then we follow a German prince I think

who's living in France and we also

follow a group of singers and musicians

and then there's also a priestess who

can see the future involved. It's crazy

and wonderful and I loved it and I also

really loved a particular battle scene

at the end which was just so well

written and I could just envisage so

well. So now that you know where I think

you should start I thought I would

briefly speak about all of Kay's books and

I will rank them in order from my

favorite to my least favorite so that

once you've started maybe you'll know

where you should go next or maybe you

just want to hear what I think of all of

Kay's books in one place. My favorite book

Tigana. I love it I love it for all

the reasons I've already said it is Kay's

magnum opus and I think it's incredible.

I'm going to be rereading it soon if you

want to reread it with me let me know,

actually that would be fun. My second

favorite is Lord of Emperors. It's

wonderful as I said, it's full of

political intrigue it's mile-a-minute

and I love being in the Byzantine Empire

because it's so similar to the Roman

Empire because it's basically a

continuation of the Roman

but further east and I studied a lot

about ancient Rome and ancient Greece in

secondary school so i just i love

reading about it. Then coming in at

number three that is the last Kay book

that i actually read and that was River

of Stars. I'm not sure if I have an extra

emotional connection to this because of the

Kay's book I read but it's set in Sung

dynasty China and the Chinese are

warring with the Mongolians in the North

trying to get back their lost 13

provinces and it follows our main

character Ren Daiyan who thinks that he

is going to be the person who will be

able to do that. It's heartbreaking and

wonderful and I just really love it. I

thought the characters were really well

developed in this one in particular and

yeah I have a great love for this. Next

on my list then is The Lions of Al-Rassan

and this one is set in the Iberian

Peninsula in Spain after the Turkish and

Moors have invaded so basically the

Christians in the north are trying to

get rid of the Muslims in the south and

we get a lot of different perspectives.

We get the perspective of a character

who I think is Jewish I can't remember

what analog name Kay uses for Judaism but

I think she was Jewish, we follow a lot

of the Muslim characters and we also

follow some of the Christian characters

in the north who are fighting to free

southern Spain and to retake it for the

Christians and the writing and this is

incredible. It's really really evocative

and getting to see Kay's perspective of

the Alhambra is really interesting

because I had a book on the Alhambra as

a kid so it made me feel nostalgic in

that regard. Next on my list is one I

have a full review for, this is

Children of Earth and Sky this is set in

Renaissance Europe and this is one of

Kay's books that you should not start off

with read this after you've read the Sarantine

Mosiac Duology preferably because this

makes a lot of references to it. It's set

in the same world as the Sarantine Mosiac

Duology but a couple of hundred years on

and having read the Sarantine Mosiac

Duology definitely enrichens this or

at least it did for me and basically it

follows a group of people who are going

across Europe to go to the Ottoman or

Osmanli Empire and one of our main

characters is a kick-ass female

pirate. Kay generally has a lot of

strong female characters in his books,

they aren't normally the main character

but they are there and I definitely

appreciate having to read their

perspective even though in a lot of

historical periods women were not at the

forefront per se maybe that's just what

I've been taught I don't know.... The next

one on my list on is Sailing to Sarantium

which is the first book in the

Sarantine Mosiac Duology and I just

really enjoy this but it's not a

standout is the second book in the

series. Then next on the list would be A

Song for Arbonnewhich as I said I love

it because who doesn't want to read

about a matriarchal society anyone

anyone at all? No I didn't think so.

Then I have the final book in Kay's

Tolkienesque portal fantasy series this

is The Darkest Road and I really enjoyed

this book because it ties everything

together so well and it took a bunch of

twists and turns I wasn't really seeing,

it also kind of better explains how the

Arthurian elements are supposed to work

although I'm still a little bit confused

in that regard but yes it was definitely

a great end to what wasn't maybe my

favorite series by him but I can see why

it is well loved. The one thing I will

say about the series, not the 3rd book

really, but the first two books I

would say is that the characters are not

as well developed as they are in his

later books and I didn't connect to them

as much as I did with some of his

historical fantasy novels. Next then I

have Under Heaven and this is the first

book in the Under Heaven Duology, the

sequel to which is rRver of Stars this

is set in Tang Dynasty China, so a

couple of hundred years before and it

starts off with a man who's burying a an

army who have been killed in an act of

great mourning and it moves on from

there when he's called to the capital

and political intrigue ensues. The reason

this is so far down my list is I read

this when I got sick and that I had to

put it down for like a month and a half

and I think I just felt disconnected

from it so it's one that I definitely

want to reread. It has all the things I

love about Kay - the sense of place, the

wonderful characters, the beautiful

writing so maybe second time around I

will enjoy it more. Next then I have The

Summer Tree which is the

first book in the Fionavar Tapestry

and as I said it's good but not amazing

but I do think Kay's writing even then

was quite special and it was interesting

to see how he approached something that

wasn't historical fiction where he had

constructed world himself.

And so further to that my next book that's on

the list is the second book which was

The Wandering Fire which was my least

favorite book in series probably because

the heteronormativity was killing me at

that point and the Arthurian elements

got introduced and weren't really

explained at all.

Then the second to last book is the Last

Light of the Sun this is basically following

the war between the Welsh, the English

and the Vikings or the Vikings kept

coming and raiding and I liked this

but I thought I was going to really

love it because obviously we've got

Celtic people like me, we've got Viking

people also like me but yeah it just

kind of lacks in terms of a cohesive

narrative thread for much of it, there's

just the load of different stories going

on you're like I don't really see how

these are relevant but cool. There's also

an unnecessary rape scene in this which

nobody ever needs thanks for that Kay

and it also kind of lacked a strong

female perspective that I'm used to. Yhe

final book on this list will probably be

no surprise to anyone this is Ysabel

which is Guy Gavriel Kay's YA urban

fantasy novel. I basically think this is

trash it does not have Kay's classic

great writing. I thought the characters

didn't actually feel like teenagers at

all, that they spoke in ways that didn't

seem natural for teenagers and I don't

know I just really didn't like this book.

It did have an interesting sense of

place, it did tie in to the Fionavar

tapestry and that was probably the

most interesting part, getting to

see characters from that book all over

again grown-up but yeah this is not what

I would recommend you start with for Kay

because I think you'll be dreadfully

disappointed and it might put you off

him for evermore. Anyway don't forget to

Bad Habits: That Make You Fat - Duration: 11:07.

A list of bad habits that make you fat, and how to get rid of them.

Nowadays there are many different weight loss methods and diets that you can use to lose

fat, but the reason these don't work for many people is due to bad habits.

Habits are forms of behaviour which are locked into the subconscious mind.

In today's video we will discuss many of these habits and how to get rid of them.

Habit 1 – Lack of Sleep The body cannot function properly if you do

not get enough sleep.

Not sleeping effects cortisol levels in the body and causes you to be hungrier.

This is a hormone which regulates your appetite.

Solution – Get at least 8 to 9 hours sleep per night.

This may involve going to bed earlier, as we often lose sleep when we wake up a few

times during the night.

Habit 2 – Unconscious Snacking Often when we are watching the TV or perhaps

YouTube we can be snacking on junk food, and not taking any notice on how much we are eating.

Solution – Be fully conscious when eating any food.

Do not let yourself be distracted by television or games when you eat.

You will enjoy your food more and be less likely to binge if you keep these activities

separated.

Habit 3 – Shopping When Hungry The modern life style can be very busy and

we can often forget to eat before we go food shopping.

This can make us more likely to grab high energy junk foods, as our bodies are craving

sugar for energy.

Solution – Always enjoy a nutritious meal before going shopping to buy your groceries.

You will make much wiser choices with your food when you are not hungry.

Habit 4 – Thinking About Being Fat The mind has a mysterious way of making us

want things that we think about often.

Imagining ourselves being fat may cause us to crave more junk food and feel hopeless.

Solution – Begin imagining yourself to be slim and healthy.

Do this at least three times per day instead of thinking about being fat.

This will motivate you and change your subconscious focus.

Habit 5 – Emotional Hunger Stress and anxiety can be too major causes

of weight gain.

We may eat to distract ourselves from the sad feelings which we feel inside our bodies

and minds.

This also affects cortisol levels and causes cravings.

Solution – Daily meditation.

Learning to breathe deeply for 20 minutes a day without performing any other activities,

causes stress levels to reduce and anxiety to settle.

Over time, this can heal many emotional problems.

Habit 6 – Diet Soda Drinks Many people believe that drinking diet soda

is healthier because it has less calories.

However studies have shown that the artificial sweeteners in soda can make you hungrier,

and affect the digestion process in a bad way.

Solution – Drink water infused with fruit.

You can purchase a water infuser bottle, and add your own choice of fruit.

Refrigerate these for 12 hours and then enjoy a tasty yet healthy treat, and avoid soda

all together.

Habit 7 – Supersized Meals Our eyes are often greedier than our stomachs,

and we tend to give ourselves too large a portion.

The human body does not need vast amounts of foods to be healthy.

Solution – Cut your meals size down by one third (1/3).

Begin by separating this on the side of the plate, and only eating two thirds.

In time, simply put less food on the plate to begin with.

You can also use smaller plates to encourage yourself to serve less.

Habit 8 – Eating Too Fast It takes 20 minutes for the body to realise

that it is full, so we often continue eating even though we do not need any more food.

This causes us to eat too many calories.

Solution – Slow down and enjoy every mouthful of food.

Enjoy the textures, flavours and be fully present.

Do not let yourself become distracted from your food.

Take notice of your bodies signals, and you will know when it is time to stop eating.

Habit 9 – Forcing It Down.

During war times, it was important for people to not waste food as this was scarce.

Many grandparents who have experienced world war 2 have taught their children never to

waste food, so we feel obliged to eat everything on the plate.

This is not healthy when you have a constant supply of food.

Solution – The body sends a signal when it is full.

You can feel this if you pay attention.

Simply stop eating at this point, and do not feel like you must eat everything.

Habit 10 – High Salt Intake.

Eating too much salt to flavour our meals causes the body to store fluids, also known

as water retention.

This can make us feel bloated and cause high blood pressure.

Solution – Use healthy spices on you meals instead of salt.

Black pepper is a common alternative, which is very tasty.

You can also use paprika, dried mint, ginger powder and many more healthy spices seen on

channel.

Habit 11 – Eating Before Bed Eating late at night is yet another bad habit,

which is usually caused by boredom.

You are less active at night therefore the calories are not burnt off, and are stored

in fat deposits.

Solution – Try not to eat any food after 7pm at night.

This gives the body enough time to metabolise the food before you begin resting.

This will also help you to sleep better at night.

If you do feel cravings, enjoy a herbal tea.

Habit 12 – Not Drinking Enough Water It is easy for our minds to trick us into

thinking that we are hungry, when we are in fact thirsty.

This makes us gain more weight, and the body has a hard time digesting the food.

Solution – Drink a glass of water with every single meal.

This will flush out the kidneys and liver, and help your body to break down foods more

effectively.

Adding ice also helps the metabolism.

Habit 13 – Being Sedentary.

The modern lifestyle allows us the luxury to sit around a lot, and watch television

or play video games.

Sitting too often causes weight gain because our muscles are not active enough.

Solution – Take the time to walk at least 20 minutes a day, and take regular breaks

if you work in an office to stretch the muscles in the body.

Moving around causes the muscles to release lipoprotein lipase which helps your body to

process fats and sugars.

Habit 14 – Not Eating Breakfast Many people skip breakfast due to not have

enough time in the morning.

This causes cravings throughout the day, as the body does not have enough energy to metabolise.

Solution – Eat a balanced breakfast with complex carbohydrates and healthy proteins.

Fish, tofu, eggs, bananas and grains, Greek yoghurt and peanut butter are all excellent

to start the day.

Alternatively, you can make fresh fruit juice with pineapples and apples.

Habit 15 – Avoiding Fat It is commonly believed that fat foods will

cause you to gain weight.

However the truth is that natural healthy fats will actually cause your body to slim

down and stay healthy.

Solution – Enjoy healthy fats from avocados, flax seeds, cold pressed olive oil and extra

virgin coconut oil.

These are a great source of energy which your body can process.

Putting It All Together

Remember that to get rid of bad habits, it is important to replace them with healthy

habits, or else new bad habits will be formed.

It takes 30 days to fully break a habit, and you should never try to change more than 2

at once.

Re-watch the video and find which habits apply to you.

Make a list, and work on 1-2 each month, and you will be slim in no time.

Diet and Exercise There are many different diets available for

losing weight.

If you wish to keep the fat off, it is important that you replace unhealthy foods with tasty

and healthy alternatives.

This way your body will get used to the new foods.

Eating should be interesting and fun.

Be sure to see our channel for some unusual and delicious foods.

Exercise is also recommended to speed up the metabolism.

Getting out of breath for 10 minutes a day can work wonders for the digestive system.

If you are extremely overweight, swimming is an excellent and gentle way to begin exercising

once or twice per week.

Enzymes Many people gain weight because they simply

do not get enough natural enzymes from raw foods.

Enzymes found in raw vegetables and fruits actually cause your body to break down food

and get more nutrients.

We recommend buying a juicer and making green juices daily to get these live enzymes into

your diet.

Herbal Teas There are a great range of herbal teas which

you can use to prevent fat build up.

Green tea and peppermint tea are excellent choices, but there are many more which can

be found on our channel.

Extra Advice Losing weight is more than just a process

of dieting and exercise.

Your state of mind is important to keep you on track.

Remember to imagine yourself slim and at your ideal weight every single day.

Feel as though you have already reached your goal.

This will keep your mind focused and motivate you.

What you don't need to know - Duration: 2:48.

People often ask me, "what's the one thing I need to know about transgender folks?"

If there is one thing, it's this: above all, transgender people are people.

It seems sometimes this simple fact is forgotten.

In the ways that matter most, we're like everyone else…we laugh, we cry, we can be

hurt…and we bleed if someone beats us.

We doubt ourselves and celebrate ourselves.

We're courageous and sometimes afraid.

We're vulnerable and we're strong.

Like you, we're particular people with particular personalities, likes and dislikes, hobbies,

interests, gifts, and talents.

We achieve great things and we make mistakes.

We are not a monolithic community.

We are individual people: plain and simple and marvelous.

Being in mindful, compassionate relationship with us means knowing this…

and it means knowing what you don't need to know.

To know us, do you really need to know if we take hormones...or, whether we've had

some form of surgery?

Would you ask your neighbor—or a person you just met—if they shave…would you dare

touch their freshly-shaven face?

A good rule of thumb for being in conversation with trans people is:

do I really need to know this…or I am just being curious?

It's good to remember: the best of intentions can be derailed by a hurtful impact.

Intrusive questions can make us feel othered, can serve to only remind us that we viewed

as separate from a group, or can even do serious harm for more reasons than can be unpacked

in this short video.

We humans are fleshy, story-bearers in the making—endowed with identity, always in

a state of being and becoming.

For trans folks, our lived stories are complicated by a narrowly-gendered world.

Sometimes, that's hard.

Always, the marvels of our persistence shine through.

To me, that seems the most important thing to know.

Emergence - How to Play in 5 Minutes - Duration: 4:47.

I'm the Rules Girl, and this is Emergence, a game of teamwork and deception for 3-6 players.

In Emergence, most players are AI agents, seeking to gather valuable data and compile

it into the knowledge needed to eradicate the human resistance.

But beware, as some players are secretly rebel humans!

The goal of the game is to win, and you win by turning in enough knowledge to meet your

team's quota.

The game is played within a tile-based city.

Tiles generate differently colored data blocks, which can be picked up by players and brought

to compile tiles to be combined into knowledge tokens.

These knowledge tokens can be assimilated to turn them into victory points, or spent

to hinder other players.

Each round, players do two things: 1) Simultaneously choose one action, and

2) Take their actions in turn order.

To begin a round, the leader gives players time to think about which action they'd

like to take, such as moving, manipulating data, or attacking other players.

Each player also chooses one of two augmentations, which restrict which colors of data you can

collect, or which players you can attack.

The leader starts a countdown, 3-2-1, and everyone simultaneously selects their action

and augmentation.

Starting with the leader and going clockwise, each player moves one tile in any direction,

if possible, then performs their action.

You can always enter an unoccupied tile, but you may only enter an occupied tile if you

have the same augmentation as the players in that space.

After moving, perform your action.

Activation is the most common action, allowing you to do one of three things:

1) If your augmentation matches your data tile, pick up all data cubes on that tile.

2) Compile data cubes into knowledge if you're on the compile tile, or

3) Begin an assimilation to score points if you're on the assimilation tile.

During an assimilation, starting with the active player and going clockwise, each player

has an opportunity to secretly add knowledge tokens to either team's stockpile.

If you have any knowledge, you have to contribute at least one token.

Once everyone's done this, reveal the two piles of assimilated knowledge tokens and

place them in the respective team's database tracks.

The other possible tile actions are replenish and boost.

Replenish allows you to add a new data block of the appropriate color onto your tile, as

long as your augmentation matches the tile.

If you're an AI, this action is important; if there are no data blocks remaining on the

board, the Humans automatically win.

Boosting allows you to move an additional tile, speeding away or towards other players,

or getting you to the compile or assimilation tiles faster.

You can also choose from three hostile actions that allow you to interact with other players:

Hack, spy, or terminate.

Hacking allows you to spend one knowledge to steal all data blocks from a player in

an adjacent tile, as long as their augmentation is the opposite of yours.

Spying allows you to spend two knowledge to secretly look at the allegiance card of a

player on your tile, as long as their augmentation matches yours.

And finally, terminating allows you to spend three knowledge to send an adjacent player

back to the start tile, stealing all their data and knowledge, as long as their augmentation

is the opposite of yours.

None of these hostile actions work if you or your target are on the start tile.

If you cannot legally perform your hostile action, you may spend one knowledge to pick

a tile action to take instead.

And that's the game!

Once every player's taken their action, pass the leader token clockwise and start

the next round.

Play continues until one team reaches their knowledge requirement, according to this table.

That team wins the game!

Remember, if gathering knowledge proves too difficult, the pesky humans can win another

way: if there are no data blocks on the board, the humans win!

Ready to play?

For your first game, set up the city like this, placing one data block of the appropriate

color on each data tile.

Choose which length game you're going to play: for your first game, we recommend the

short version.

Give each player an action marker as well as a player board, placing their matching

agent on the start tile.

Shuffle allegiance cards according to the number of players, and deal one face-down

to each player.

Players now peek at their identities.

In a 5 or 6 player game, the two humans need to know each other's identities, so have

everyone close their eyes and have one player instruct the two humans to open their eyes

to identify each other.

Once that's done, The oldest player takes the leader token, and begins the countdown

for round 1.

If you liked Emergence, you may also like Secret Hitler, One Night Ultimate Werewolf,

or Battlestar Galactica, three other hidden identity games.

If you enjoyed this video, consider subscribing to The Rules Girl for more ultra-concise rules

explanations.

How To Create Videos On A Budget - Duration: 11:28.

Would

you like to know how to make videos on a budget?

Does making videos seem to be an overwhelming task?

I know the feeling ..Hi Marcellus McMillian Here

And in this video I want to talk to you about how you can make videos on a budget.

Now what this video is not, is how to edit and create videos but more of an equipment

video although I will recommend a video editor I love.

I will always include the links in a cheat sheet or below the video.

Over the last couple of years we can all agree that video has exploded on the internet

and made a lot of people a lot of money.

But when youre just getting started it could seem to be like taking a ball of yarn

from a cat youre sure not to come out on top of that exchange.

So what do you do if you want to make great quality videos or you want to use videos in

your business to enhance your business or even make a profit from your videos but you

have no clue where to start?

Well the good news is, in this video I am going to provide tips to help you purchase

all of the items you will needed for video from two websites..Ebayand Amazon.

Now these items could help the average person make great videos for their business.

Now I want to be clear this is the method to help you start on a budget.

Now you can always upgrade all of your equipment but the idea here is to help you do this without

breaking the bank.

Ok lets get started, When recording from your laptop you will want

to make sure that your computer has an HD web camera now most computers come with them

today but I have found most of them are not as powerful as I needed them to be so, what

do I use?

The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 this camera comes with great audio recording.

Also it comes with the ability to do wide angle video shots also.

That is important when you are making videos for teaching online.

It comes with a whole host of features but the one that I will mention is the noise reduction

that comes in handy if you have to record in an open space or noisy environments.

Its compatible with most systems just make sure that you look at the info on the website

before you purchase it.

At the time of this recording your looking at about $61.99 for this camera.

Now when making videos for green screen production or just videos with a marketing intent

to show yourself on camera I recommend the Kodak Play Touch this little camera is very

good for video recording with an external mic.

Now I purchased mine for about $56 but you will have to shop around for the best deal.

I recommend Amazon and Ebay for this.

Try and use Ebay and see if it is on auction and get it for the lowest price.

Now with this product I recommend a few other products as a tag a longs .

First one is a External mic or lapel mic now I am using the Samsung Galaxy S3 Cell Phone

External Mic with the play touch camera.

Now for you it is going to depend on what you use.

You will need to do some research on the one that works best for you I didnt want to

tell you which one to use because I dont know exactly what you will be doing in your

business.

Now speaking of audio I use a Blue Yeti for all of my computer recording.

This has so many features it would take to long to read them all off just trust me you

will want to use this mic.

Now I know this mic is large and also runs about $100 but it is so worth it.

It will allow you crisp smooth quality.

It also allows you to interview people without having to use another mic.

But you have to think about your business and what is most important to you in your

business and figure out what you want.

Now I use another tool with an LED light and its called a Studiohut L-Flash Bracket with

dual shoe mounts.

Now for your Lighting I Recommend some LED lights this can help you with the quick videos

and also the videos you may plan for YouTube.

I am using this light now for some YouTube videos and it helps out a lot.

And also the Neewer 600W Photo Studio Umbrella Continuous lighting kit.

This one I got from Ebay I think I spent about $50 bucks for the entire kit.

It is great for lighting and also making videos and photos.

Now if you are like me you want to have the ability to change the background in some of

your videos well that is exactly what a Chromakey background will do for you.

It will allow you to give your videos a more professional look and awesome backgrounds..

Now back to the Chromeakey.

Now I will also tell you I was able to get a 6x9 Chromakey green& Blue Back Drop for

pennies on the dollar.

I use this all the time and I will be using it even more in my course creation.

I didnt do any on screen camera work for this video but I will in the future so It

was well worth the purchase.

Now Try and make sure that you get the stand with your Chromakey backdrop if it doesnt

come with the backdrop make sure you purchase one.

Make sure you like us on Facebook and until next time..

Also stay in touch for our new Daily Vlog..

Keep in mind I dont know your Budget so that is a little relative.

I hope this helps.

The Secret to Weight Loss for Women over 50: Weight Loss Tips for Boomers! - Duration: 6:42.

Do you feel as though you've tried everything but you just can't seem to

lose weight anymore? well tune in today and find out how to reboot your body and

actually change your genetic makeup

thanks so much for tuning into 2nd Act TV ... today we're welcoming back

Rashelle Brown to talk about her book Reboot your body: unlocking the genetic

secrets to permanent weight loss, did I get that right Rashelle it's a long

title yes it is but it's a great title and it's a great way to approach taking

charge of your health and fitness tell us about your 10-week program well I

wrote the book it's been just about 2 years since it was published now and so

I've had the chance to use it with a lot of people and I do structure it as about

a 10 to 12 week program that takes people from the set of habits that

they're currently practicing now to the set of habits that they need to actually

make those genetic changes happen and the research behind it is is really

pretty amazing it's about 20 to 25 years old and kind

of rooted in cancer and heart disease research the doctors who were who were

doing the research on that found that the people that started implementing the

lifestyle changes that improved their health outcomes for those diseases also

lost a ton of weight and kept the weight off yeah and so what I've done is taken the

parameters that they used in those test groups and created a weight loss program

around it it's different from most lifestyle change programs in that it

really starts people from where their biggest obstacle is which is in the head

it gets them past those beliefs that you kind of mentioned that I've tried

everything and nothing has worked for me and this is genetic for me and I've always

been fat or everyone in my family is overweight and it says no there's

really something that you can do about that so

let's put all that aside and try this new approach .. and then it walks them

through a series of exercises over the course of about 10 or 12 weeks it's a

it's a self-paced program but that's the amount of time that most people find it

takes them to really do the work that they need to you to make those changes

you know what I really like about your approach is is that you do take the the

mind into consideration that in order to lose weight especially if it's if it's a

greater amount of weight you have to believe that you can do it so I think

that really differentiates your program from lots of other you know that if it

quick fixes that are out there yeah I think it really does um what I found

down to the person everyone who has who has done a program and read my book is

that they're surprised by what comes up when they start doing the exercises

early in the book, and they realize that there are all these things that they

didn't even know about that are kind of blocking their success for weight loss and once

they can see those things and kind of start to deal with them then it is a

whole different process than anything they've done before ...and really when you

think of it you're talking about a program where you can potentially

substantially lose say 30 to 50 pounds in a year and how fast does a year go by

so what a great way to you know maybe start today and see where you are 12

months from now would you agree? Oh absolutely, and i think that's part of the

whole mindset mindset early on is is setting a goal that's realistic and

recognizing that if I can lose 50 pounds over the course of a year I'm going to

be so much better off next year than I would have been if I just keep doing my

yo-yo diet or every fad workout that comes along because that gets

frustrating for one thing but that also negatively impacts our bodies in the way

that we were able to lose weight ...do you have any specific words of advice

especially to our demographic our audience you know

the 40, 50 plus that if they believe that you can't you know I've just I'm too old

I can't lose weight what what do you say? ... well there's some interesting lot of

research about that actually and despite the fact that especially for women there

are a lot of hormonal changes kind of around the age of 50 and a little bit

beyond that happened it truly is just the decrease in

activity that leads to weight gain more than any of those other factors so it's not

that there is no effect from hormonal changes and just the natural aging

process but it's that the effect is much greater from just the reduced amount of

activity we're not running after kids anymore or we're not quite as active in

our work perhaps we just aren't maybe prioritizing exercise the way that we were

but the good news the upside of that is that we tend to get a little bit

more time back as we get older and so we are able to prioritize activity a little

bit more we maybe have some more time to spend on healthy cooking and you

know shopping for good ingredients and making some good home-cooked meals and

things like that that are important as well so it can be actually more of an

asset to be at our age then then a detriment if people know how to use it

right ...I love that that's what great advice which I like you know I really

urge everybody to pick up the book because it is a very sensible approach

that you can follow get in the right mind set in the first 10 to 12 weeks and

see where you are in a year from now and believe you can do it so Rashelle thank

you so much for that great advice I hope to have you back soon on another episode

and we'll of course link to all of your information so if the viewers want to

get in contact with you directly they can do so

thanks again for joining us thanks for having me I enjoyed it

Hope you enjoyed today's program and found the information helpful. For more
