One Way to Grow Your Client Base: Guest Speaking - Duration: 1:39.

Hi, it's Melissa, cofounder and CEO of Mahmee,

and today I just want to share some business development advice.

One thing that you can do to start growing your client base pretty quickly:

that is guest lecturing.

What does that mean?

That means reaching out to people who are educators in other subjects

or specialities other than your own.

Partnering with someone else who is already teaching a class

or leading a playgroup.

Come in as a specialist on another topic

either teaching a whole session on that topic,

or stopping in at the end as a special guest Q&A session

where the people in that class can then ask you specific questions relating to your specialty.

This works really well

whether there are patients in the class

or other practitioners.

So think about this:

If one day, one of the attendees of that class

has a patient or a client who asks for a referral

in the topic that you're a specialist in,

you're going to be top-of-mind for that practitioner

who heard you speak when you came into their workshop.

So this works across the board.

It's a great thing that you can do.

You can start reaching out to other professionals in your community,

introduce yourself,

get connected,

and offer to be a special guest lecturer or do a Q&A session at the end.

Tag team!

Create an opportunity for that teacher

to participate and support your community as well.

Think of this as an opportunity to collaborate with

other practitioners,

to build your network,

get your name out there in the community,

and, at the end of the day, grow your business.

HOW TO DEAL WITH BORING TASKS | SELF MOTIVATION - Duration: 4:54.

Hello world and welcome to the right side:)

In our life we all have to deal with things we find

Boring!

yeah..

and we don't like to do them, but still we have to!

So today i want to cheer you a little bit up!

And tell you how I'm and how to deal with boring tasks in general!

Thing number 1!

Don't put them to back burner.

Seriously the earlier you do them

the faster you get rid of them

the more time you will have to do things you enjoy

You won't get into depression

You won't be upset and think like:

"God I still need to do this"

If for some reasons you can't do this task in a short amount of time

and you'll need not one day, not 1 hour

but several days to do it

Don't try to do it!

Don't try if you know that you can't

To do it in one time!

You will spend the whole day covered in a negative emotions

and thinking how you hate what you're doing

Just split it into several portions like

spend 20 minutes to do this this day

then 20 minutes to do this tomorrow

And that's how you will actually not be depressed

and not thinking like: "God I hate this day!"

There is one thing that I hate to do but I have to do every week

and it's called cleaning!

That what helps me to get over it

and don't be depressed!

Think of the result of this process

Think of what you can get in the end of it

like with me and cleaning

I'm thinking like well in the end I will have clean apartment

with you and classes for example think of it

as now you know something interesting

now you learn something new for yourself!

With you work think how you will be praised after you're done with this task!

If for some reasons you don't get such an amazing result afterwards

and you know it!

Just think how you can treat yourself after it

when I will get rid of it i'll go and watch a movie

that I really wanted to watch!

Buy myself something nice or

everything that can cheer you up!

Or make you happy after you're done with this uninteresting thing for you!

Another thing that helps me to get over this boring

uninteresting for me process is

the fact that I'm trying to make every process entertaining for myself

the fact that I'm 25 doesn't mean anything!

the best way to learn your child how I think

is to turn this teaching process into the game

Who said that it does;t work with adults also?

Cause it does

For example when I'm and don't laugh!

When i'm cooking I'm pretending like I'm a chef!

Who has got her own tv show and

I;m teaching other people how to cook

When i'm cleaning the apartment by my own

I'm pretending like I just moved in new apartment

and want to make it all nice and beautiful for myself!

this works with other things also!

Seriously just try to do that and you'll see

that at some point this process stops to be a bother for u

But becomes an interesting fun game

And another thing that actually helps me to get over this routine

monotone, boring tasks is

the fact that I've a creative hobby!

I've thing that i love to do

and that helps me to stay this positive person

and to be full of forces!

For me all this routine tasks are actually a way

to relax and to do nothing!

if you've a lot of boring things that you need to do in your life

a)think if you need to change something

b) you can't get rid of boring tasks in your life

So find yourself a thing, a hobby or a work

where you can put your forces into!

And that can actually help you not to be bored of

doing routine, monotone tasks that

you're not fond of doing!

And that's all advices that I've for you for today!

How to setup a drip irrigation system - Part 1 - Duration: 8:55.

Hi this is Peter Stanley, welcome to my channel.

Today I want to talk about

how to setup a

drip irrigation system

really the basics of one

give you some

ideas on how to design your own

and show you my drip system

as an example

so at the very basic level

you would need a water source

usually a spigot

and you need a filter

the one I have is inline filter

but you don't have to use an inline filter

and

below that you would need a pressure reducer

and then your main line

usually this is

like 1/2" tubing

so that would attach there

and on the end you would have a terminator

and

then you would need to connect

the main line to you drip emitter

that's normally done with 1/4" tubing

so this would, kind of like that

It doesn't have to be two, it could just be one

that would attach to an emitter

and that would stake next to your plant

so when you turn the water on

it sends water

to all the emitters that are attached.

connections are made

with barbed fittings

1/4" and I use a tool

to, just kind of give a

like say this is the 2"

sorry, 1/2" tubing

punch a hole in it with a special tool

and then you would insert a barbed connector

and if you're doing just one line you would use a single

connector

one end would stick in there

and the other end would attach to your poly tubing

or if you wanted to do two lines you could

use a tee connector

and so the poly tubing would connect to each end

so that was how I designed my first one

I had a tee connector with

lines on each side to my plants

with one emitter

so basically if you want to design your own

there are some things to consider

first you need to

look at how much grow space you have

to setup your system

the number of plants and type of plants

I grow peppers mostly

so my example fits the model for the number of plants I'm growing

spacing between

plants, and that

is more determined by the type, depending on how big your plants get

and your budget

what I recommend doing

is sketch out your system

with all these factors considered

and then determine

what parts you need

and

goto somewhere that sells drip parts and

see how much it would cost to

to buy all of these

and the next thing I recommend is to

find a kit

that approximates what you're doing

I use Drip Depot

I'm affiliate of theirs, so

the link I have in the description, if you

buy something through there I'll earn a commission

but I've recommend them long before I became an affiliate

but they're just a good company

but you don't have to use them, there are other

drip companies, and some of the big box stores have kits

so I encourage you to

sketch out your system

based on your space and your requirements

and then look at the number of parts you need

these are things like

how much tubing

and also the number of like

barbed connectors or

whatever you use to connect your

1/4" line

number of

1/2" connectors

I like the Perma-loc

they work really well

and things like your

pressure reducer

filter

and also I recommend

a timer

turn your system on and off

and also a

an adapter for the spigot

it's like a little Y adapter

and they have individual shutoff

your drip system

would connect to that and

this other side allows you to use your water hose

independently of your drip system

so those a really, you can get those for 5 or 6 dollars

I want to give you a quick overview

of how I designed my system

so from the, and this is how I initially

designed it, I made some upgrades

so I have the filter

pressure reducer

my timer was above all that

so I did two rows

so I kind went like that

and then I did a little

elbow

one row

and a tee adapter there

another row

and the rows were about 25 feet long

but this is just showing kind of

the overview

barbed tees

of course I had terminators on the end

and then I used 1/4" tubing

on

and one drip emitter per plant

so in this scenario I need these essential parts

and

how ever many plants, I think last year I had

about 60 plants

so you've just got to figure up how much of what you need

so I had barbed tee connectors

I had drip emitters

and I use the 1/2 gallon

per hour but you can use faster

faster rate ones

if you use faster ones you just run it for less time

you kinda have to test run to see

how long it takes to run through

the faster the emitter the less time

you need, but the 1/2 gallon

per hour work fine

so you need to determine how much 1/2" tubing

how much 1/4" tubing you need

how many emitters

and your connectors like

tee connector, elbow connector, two terminators

I think I also had a shut off valve connector

I think I've got one here also

if I need to isolate parts of it

so that was

how I did

last two years and I made a few

upgrades

primarily

the way I do my connections

like for the emitters

so like this

is the tee barb

and that's the main line

the way I did mine this year is

had 24 inch line

another tee connector

and then two

12 inch lines

and an emitter on each end

so with this system I've got two emitters

per plant

and it gives a little better even coverage

and provides some redundancy

and also another change I made

I gave more spacing than I have been

what I do now is I've got

36 inch

spacing between

pairs and that

cause with peppers, if you're growing small plants it's not

as big of a deal

but

some of the types of peppers can get really large

so as they start growing out

you'll really

be glad you gave it some more spacing

cause it makes, they'll start growing in together

it's hard to tell them apart

so that's

a basic

overview and

on my system I actually have

one the very end, space

to add two more pairs

or one pair on each row

so I'm going to show

you how I do those and how

I punch the holes and make

all the connections

just to walk through that

show you how easy it is and

kind of give you an implementation

I'm also using a fert injector this year too

and the first two years I didn't use a fert injector

basically

the way it work is

this'll be an in

out

so your

line come in

go out, so it's basically

in line with your drip system

the actual injector will be on the bottom

and

reservoir of nutrients

and this would have a feed tube

that sucks this up

and injects that into the stream

so when you

what's going out to your plants has nutrients

if you don't use that

what I used

last two years was

just mixing slow release fertilizer

into the potting mix

so that way every time I watered I was also feeding

my plants, this year I'm

not using slow release fertilizer, I'm just using

hydroponic nutrients

actually using

dyna-gro

7-9-5

that's just

what I'm trying out this year

normally I use Master blend

but this is like an all-in-one solution

so it's a little easier

even though it costs a little more

so anyway let's go ahead

and go outside, and I'll give you a

first hand look at how

my system looks now

and also

how to install those

emitters

and the, all the connections for that

Today we're talking about product samples.

Practitioners tell us that they would love to be able to give their patients free samples or trial versions

of their favorite mom and baby care products.

The things that they know will work for their patient and make their lives easier or solve their problems.

And, there are so many products on the market today for moms and babies,

and new families in general,

that it can be really overwhelming to decide what is t he right product to bring home to your family.

But, a recommendation from a practitioner, and a sample size version of that product,

can go a long way in helping your patient make the right purchase the first time.

So the question is:

how do you get those product samples, and how do you get enough of them

so that you have enough to give away to all of your patients?

So, are you read to hear the secret on how you get

free samples from product manufacturers to give away to your patients?

I'm gonna tell you...

You just have to ask.

That's it, that's the secret.

Just asking for them!

They will gladly send you those samples because

There's nothing better than a face-to-face,

one-on-one interaction where someone is recommending that product to someone else.

It works so well, and the product manufacturers know this.

Whether you are calling up or emailing these product manufacturers to get your samples,

there are four things that you are going to want to convey to them

so that they understand why you need the products and how many you need of them to give out to your patients.

The first thing you are going to want to tell them about is yourself!

Who are you? What do you do?

What are your certifications? And, what's your professional background?

The second thing is the size of your patient population.

How many patients do you see every month?

Or, every quarter? Or, every year?

That is information that will help the manufacturer decide

how many products to send you.

The third thing is how you spend time with patients or clients.

Whether you see people one-on-one, or in a group setting.

Maybe you are a yoga instructor, and so you are getting the chance to educate

fifteen or twenty moms at a time on a new product in the market.

The fourth thing is to explain why the company should give you those samples.

You'll want to talk about what the common concerns are of your patients or clients,

and why they come to you for that help.

Maybe you are a specialist in a particular topic,

and so, a recommendation from you goes a long way on that particular subject.

Ok! Those are the four things you'll want to cover when you are reaching out to product manufacturers

and asking them for free samples.

You can do this. You just have to ask!
