I was asked this question

in one of my mastermind groups

that...

How do you change a belief?

Especially if it's...

coming from experience?

So especially if you kind of have 'proof'

for your belief.

So that's a very very interesting question,

because it's a complex,

very complex question.

Because beliefs

can be personal,

they also can be...

collective.

So we have a mixture of both,

some beliefs we acquire

through our own lifetime

or even from previous lifetimes

that we brought in,

and other beliefs

we have

as collective.

One example of the collective belief would be

'women are not good with money'.

So 'women are not good with money'

is a collective belief

in the collective consciousness,

in mass consciousness.

And what happens is that

most women

have it.

Most women have it

and they think it's theirs.

So...

just because it's collective

it doesn't mean

you don't have to work on it.

But knowing where you believe sits

in the kind of...

whether it's yours

or whether it's actually...

something else

helps,

it really is helpful

because it gives you a perspective.

That it's not because

something's wrong with you,

it's not something because

you don't deserve,

it's not because...

you are not good enough...

or anything like that.

It's just what you were born into.

Maybe in your society,

in terms of your community,

your family

or as a...

as a collective right now in the world,

women are going through the process

of changing that belief,

breaking through that belief.

So...

so how do you change a belief?

Because that's the original question.

One thing you need to know,

it's handy to know,

it's handy to know

whether it's yours

or whether

it's part of the collective.

And when you understand that,

that

certain beliefs

that you carry within you

are actually not yours,

that's really a relief.

Most people

try to work on their beliefs

at the wrong level,

on the surface level.

So on the surface level

I mean by...

the work on

one's mindset.

I'm not against mindset work,

I used to be a mindset expert,

heavily,

and I still am a mindset expert,

but...

I work at the mindset now

from a much deeper place.

And so I help my clients

to open their mindset,

to shift their mindset,

to create shifts in consciousness

rather than just switching

one belief into another.

Because the kind of mindset work

at the basic level,

that's what it does:

they call it sometimes positive thinking, as well,

so what they are trying to do is

convert the negative belief

into a positive one,

thinking

that this is going to work.

And I don't believe that works,

I actually know it doesn't work,

long-term it doesn't work.

It may feel better for a little while

but it doesn't create a profound

long lasting shift.

You have a belief that

no one likes you.

So, no one likes me.

Okay, so

using this surface type

positive thinking scenario

what you could try and do,

and you probably did try that,

you try and convert that

into a positive belief.

Like:

'Oh, but look,

that person liked me.

And, you know, I still have friends.

So there must be some people who like me.

And... actually, I'm not that bad.

You know, I have this and I have that,

and I've done this and I've done that...'

So you see how that was working?

You are talking yourself into

a positive belief.

But I actually

don't believe in beliefs.

So what I believe in,

or I actually don't believe in anything,

what I know is

having no beliefs

is the best thing.

Because a belief is still

a construct of the mind.

You see?

Believing negative

or believing positive

is still

a construction of the mind.

And that is always,

always, always

going to be limiting.

Whether it's negative,

whether it's positive...

I mean have you noticed

that you grow out of your beliefs?

You believed this yesterday -

you don't believe it today.

You believed this 10 years ago -

you don't believe it now.

And if you keep basing

your life

on your beliefs

what starts to happen

is you start to feel that:

Oh I can't trust myself.

That's right.

When you run your life

by your mind,

based on your mind,

which constructs beliefs all the time,

then you can't trust it.

Because your mind changes its mind

all the time.

It's unreliable!

It believes this today -

doesn't believe that tomorrow.

So a belief is very...

volatile.

The best thing you can do

is believe nothing.

Oh, how do you do that?

How do you believe nothing?

Well, in order for you

to believe nothing

you need to be anchored,

you need to have

the point of your perception,

the point of reference

at a different place.

Not in your mind.

Because if the point of reference

and perception

is inside your mind,

your mind clings to beliefs,

ideas and mindsets.

And like I said:

it is always, always, always

going to be limiting.

You want to be

basing your perception,

your point of reference

in something

that is

unlimited,

infinite.

Your true true true self.

And what is that?

It is beyond the mind.

It is somewhere beyond the mind.

It is beyond

the mindsets,

it's beyond the beliefs,

you are moving yourself

into the realm of spirit.

And there

you don't need to have any beliefs.

You just know.

And that's a very beautiful place.

So, for example,

you can...

like that example of

'no one likes me'

you can try and work

on your mindset, so to speak,

and convert it into something positive,

or

you can go

and connect with your soul.

And at that level

you know.

You don't need to believe

whether anybody likes you or not at all.

You just know.

You know who you are

and you also know

that you have everything you need

in this moment,

that you are okay,

you are enough.

And...

that's all you need.
