Waching daily Jun 16 2017

Hi everybody, I'm Vero of VeroSweetHobby,

today I came to Downtown Los Angeles

to visit a very special museum,

it's the Museum of Ice Cream and I've been told

that everything can be touched,

and you can eat a lot of ice cream!

Do you want to do this together? Let's go!

I just got in to this museum that is

in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles,

and I'm so surprised because there are lots of walls

where you can take beautiful pictures

for Instagram and Social Media

and I know that behind this wall there are lots of

even more beautiful things!

Of course I will be doing and trying everything

and I'm going to show you everything. Let's go!

So fun! they have a sky full of bananas!

It's so great!

I'm in the middle of banana heaven

this is divine!

Here they have real mint plants,

and they use them to make chocolate mint ice cream

and these particles you see here

it's not only soil, but soil mixed with chocolate

so the plats tastes and smells delicious.

They gave me mint chip mochi

It's really yummy,

and in each one of the rooms I visited,

they gave me a small ice cream to taste,

this one has what is planted here,

and I think it has a highly pleasant taste.

Spectacular! I love these colors

these are the colors of VeroSweetHobby

I'm so excited!

look at this super bright orange ice cream!

I think this is going to be my favorite museum.

We are almost at the end of this exhibition

of the Ice Cream Museum

I thought it was a super fun idea!

in this place you can totally play with your food!

and I loved it! Let's go!

I hope you liked it as much as I did,

I think this is a very original idea,

kisses and hugs to everyone

and if you like this video, like, comment and subscribe!

What to Do When You Feel Hopeless - Duration: 2:28.

Hi, my name is Roman Ryder and this is Fearless Strategy.

If you're new to my YouTube channel, please click below and subscribe.

Okay, so one of the hardest things in life is when you feel like it's hopeless, when

something has happened, or you did something or said something and you just don't feel

like there's any way to come back from it.

Well let me tell you what, you can come back.

It's going to be okay.

So today I'm going to give you a few tools to use when you reach those hard points in

life and you just don't see a way out.

Okay.

Tool number one is to ask yourself, "Will this really matter in five years or ten years?"

No matter how bad it seems, I bet you if you ask yourself, "Will it matter in five years

or ten years?"

It's going to look a lot better, right?

I've been through some tough things and I said, "Will it really matter in five years?

Meh, no, not really.

It kind of sucks right now but in five years I'll be okay, it won't be a big deal.

It'll be a thing of the past and I won't even think about it."

Okay?

The second tool is to focus on what you can control and forget about the things that are

out of your control.

They're just going to be something to worry about.

Don't worry about them.

Focus on what you can control and start moving forward.

Start from where you're at today and find your way out of this.

Okay?

And that brings me to the last thing.

The third tool is just to never ever give up.

Some of the toughest things I've been through in life were followed by some of the best

things I've been through in life and if I had given up, I never would've got to experience

those great things.

So never ever give up.

Okay?

And last, I'm just going to tell you a short story.

Sometimes I think of life like a blacksmith and I'm the metal and he's hammering on me

and heating me in the forge, right?

And he's beating me into a tool.

He's beating me into the weapon I need to be.

He's making me stronger.

It's not easy, it hurts sometimes, but life is trying to make you stronger.

Like Tony Robbins says, "Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you."

Okay?

So use these three tools.

Ask, "Will it really matter in five or ten years?

What can I focus on right now?

What can I control to make ... Improve this situation?"

And never ever give up, okay?

I hope you enjoyed this week's video.

Please like it.

Please share it.

Please head over to fearlessstrategy.com, sign up for my free training I have coming

up soon and I'll see you next week on Fearless Strategy.

Who is Listening to Your Business? -- Getting to Know Your Marketing Audience - Duration: 2:23.

We're continuing our series on getting to know your audience. Now this can be

your customers, or maybe people you're trying to reach. One of the mistakes many

companies make, but we're going to fix it today, is that they never look at their

online analytics. So today let's look at Facebook Insights.

This is just one of the tools that we use to really understand who it is

you're trying to reach online. There are three insights we're going to take a

look at today. The first is people. If you go into your Facebook Insights,

on the left hand side there's a tab called "people" this tells you who's

liking your page and also the people that you're reaching. So, at the top of

this you'll see your fans, people reached, and people engaged. So you may see that in

your fans you have more men than women. But then when you take a look at your

engagement you may see that women are really the ones who are engaging. It also

tells you the countries, even the cities where your audience is coming from.

The second insight we want to look at is what posts are doing the best. You can

actually take a look at all of your posts and see what kind of reach and what

kind of engagement you're getting and you really want to focus on the ones

that get higher organic reach. Those are the type of posts you want to keep doing.

The other thing is at the top you can click on post types and this will show

you between video, photo, or just a link you can see which type of posts do the

best on your page. Video is still one of the top ways to reach audiences on

Facebook and this is actually pretty general across the board. The last thing

we're going to look at is what time of day your fans or your audience is online.

This is actually still under the post tab. It tells you what time of day

and how many people are online. So what you want to do is you want to find the

peak times that your audience is online. Some blogs will tell you there's a

specific time, every single day that you should post. But honestly you need to be

looking at this analytic to see when your audience will be most engaged with you.

Remember that this is just one tool we use to really start to understand who

your audience is. So today, take a look at Facebook

Insights and really grasp who it is all of your messaging should be targeting

Socially Responsible Ways to Dispose of Electronics – Electronic Recycling Tips – DIY in 5 Ep 56 - Duration: 3:34.

Ooohhhh yeah!!

We've had a good run old chap…

Hey everyone and welcome to DIYin5.

I'm Trisha Hershberger and in this episode we will tell you how to recycle

or donate those old electronics that have been collecting dust in the closet.

If you want tips to breath new life into said gadgets, then don't forget to subscribe

so you won't miss any of our upcoming episodes.

Let's be real... we all get excited when we get the latest & greatest gadget but as

time moves on these new toys become old and slow... and suddenly you want something new again!

Do you find yourself thinking "now what do I do with this"?

Electronics aren't made to last forever and all tech companies don't mind if you

upgrade every year or two. Wink wink, nudge nudge...

Because of this, all these old gadgets usually end up in your closet or your garage for years!

It's like an old friend that you just can't bear to get rid of so you just keep it!

But, my friends, it's time to let go.

So what's the best thing to do you ask?

Donate or recycle!

Donate your old PCs and phones to groups that will fix and clean them and put them back into use.

Even that old Windows XP system can probably be used by someone else.

But... there are electronics that even charities won't accept.

That's when you know it's really bad

and you might need to check yourself into gadget hoarding rehab.

But did you know that old electronics or "e-waste" are potentially dangerous?

They can be filled with toxic metals and chemicals that are fine when being used but hazardous

when sitting in a landfill.

So where do you go?

♫ ♬ Captain Planet, he's our hero! Gonna take pollution down to zero! ♫ ♬

If Captain Planet was your personal hero as a kid and you're into non-profits,

then e-Stewards might be right for you.

They have a mission to create a toxic-free future and are campaigning for everyone's

right to a clean environment.

You can check out a list of e-Stewards recyclers here.

By taking it to any of these sites you are guaranteed that your old stuff is recycled safely.

If big box stores are more your jam,

then Best Buy probably has the best retail recycling program out there.

If you go on their website, it lists out what the store will and won't accept.

Just be aware there are some items listed, like TVs, which cost $25 to take.

As a bonus Best Buy also has a Trade-in program where you can trade in some items for a gift

card which you can put toward a shiny new device.

Now if you're a Tetris master or have pro packing skills then Office Depot has a Tech

Recycling Service where you buy a recycling box and put as many devices in there for a

flat rate of $5 to $15, as long as it closes of course.

OK, competition time!

What's the oldest tech you still have laying around in your closet or garage?

Let us know in the comments below.

I think I still have an HTC Tilt laying in a drawer somewhere…

Those things were really cool back in the day, I swear!

Now if you just can't part with your gadgets we've got other videos for you.

If you have an old Android tablet you want to turn into something productive,

check out this video here.

Thanks so much for watching and I'll see you next time with more DIY in 5!

Orientation Overview - Duration: 10:45.

Hello, and welcome to Fortis College and the first day of your future professional career.

In this short video, we will provide an overview of what you can expect from online courses

here at Fortis.

Lets look at Week 1 first.

Before we dive in, you should be aware that you can complete the orientation in one sitting,

or you have the option to mark where you have stopped and return later to continue the orientation

activities.

Notice the box in each section of this Week 1 page.

You can click on the box once you have completed the activity so that you can keep track of

your progress.

This is especially helpful if you work on the orientation over more than one session.

You will know what you have already completed and not find yourself returning to activities

you have already finished.

As it states in the Overview below, it is recommended that you not wait until the last

minute to complete orientation.

Effective time management is key to your success in this online environment, and this is an

opportunity for you to explore time management strategies that work best for you.

Again, referring to the Overview, full participation in and completion of the activities included

in this orientation is a prerequisite for registration in your course.

So, lets begin to familiarize you with what you can expect from your online courses.

As we move down the page to see the tools and resources available to you, we strongly

encourage you to read through all of the content thoroughly to know what is required of you

in both this orientation and your online courses.

Getting started, whenever you access your online course you will want to review any

announcements provided by your instructor.

You can access the Announcements by clicking the link in the left-hand navigation.

However, in your live courses, the Announcements page is the default home page, so any new

and relevant announcements from your instructor will be immediately available for you to review.

Click on each of these links to acquaint yourself with Fortis online policies, such as how attendance

is tracked in your course and the attendance requirements for maintaining active enrollment.

Here are some frequently asked questions about attendance you will want to be sure you read

through.

Remember, if you have questions you can always reach out to your instructor or Admissions

Representative.

This page explains the importance of demonstrating academic integrity; this is another policy

with which you will want to be very familiar.

Academic integrity and honesty are taken very seriously here at Fortis.

This page will familiarize you with guidelines to ensure your work here is original and that

it meets our expectations of honesty and integrity.

Remember, as you complete each section, click the Mark Reviewed box to keep track

of your progress.

Get Connected outlines what you can expect to gain from this Orientation, which has been

designed to resemble some of what you are likely to see in a typical course.

Your online classroom is the Blackboard learning management system.

This section provides you with a variety of resources to help you navigate the online

classroom.

Be sure to view the Blackboard Orientation tutorial for a comprehensive tour of the Blackboard

environment.

Also, be sure to read these documents for answers to specific questions about different

Blackboard tools and resources.

Additionally, familiarize yourself with these common Blackboard tasks, as they will be the

ones you will be performing in most, if not all, of your courses.

We will look at taking quizzes and exams and posting to the Discussion Board in a short

while.

In the section, Becoming an Effective Online Student, we guide you through tips for watching

videos and being an active listener.

Included as well are tips on navigating your Interactive Workbook.

For most of your online courses you will have access to digital copies of your textbooks.

They will resemble the design and function of this Interactive Workbook.

Be sure to read through this workbook, as it provides important tips for success as

both a student and a working professional.

Finally, these videos ask you to examine your purpose and objective for continuing your

education as well as providing tips on setting attainable goals.

The Discussion Board is one of the most important components in the online classroom.

It is where you will interact with other students and your instructor as you respond to weekly

prompts that engage your critical thinking skills.

You are expected to provide an initial response to the weekly prompt by Wednesday evening

and respond to at least two of your classmates responses by weeks end.

The purpose here is for the class to engage in debate and discussion in a similar manner

as you would in a live classroom environment.

For instance, perhaps you have a different perspective on a topic than that of your peers,

or maybe your peers challenge you to look at an idea differently.

The goal here is to share ideas and learn from one another.

One note, though, while disagreement and debate are the key ingredients to an engaging discussion,

always be respectful of your peers and refrain from antagonistic or rude responses.

Read the Posting to the Discussion Board document for a thorough step by step guide to navigating

the Discussion forum.

Each weekly discussion also contains a rubric that identifies how your responses will be

assessed.

For now, lets see how to access the Discussion Board and post a response.

There are two ways you can access the Discussion Board.

One is by clicking the link in the left-hand navigation of your course.

Or by clicking the Discussion Board link that headlines that particular section of the weekly

content.

To post a response, click on the discussion title to the left.

You will see a thread has already been created.

To respond, click the threads title and click reply.

You can type your response directly into the text box that appears below.

Once you have completed your response, click Submit to post to the thread.

Your live courses will have a button that will allow you to create your own threaded

discussion.

You will find it in the top left.

In creating your thread, you will provide a subject and type your response just as you

did in your reply.

Click Submit and you have created your own thread to which your classmates can respond.

Your subject title will appear in the Thread section of the forum.

Most of your courses will assess your learning through quizzes, Mid-terms, and Final Exams.

Accessing these assessments is easy.

Simply click the heading, read the directions, and click Continue when you are ready to start.

You do not have to complete this quiz on learning styles in one sitting.

You can save your progress and return to finish later.

This feedback section provides you with information about your preferred learning style as determined

by the quiz.

Click on the relevant page for your preferred style to learn more about how you learn most

effectively.

Recognizing your preferred style and how you can utilize it in your online courses can

help you be more successful in your learning.

As was mentioned when we talked about the Discussion Board, effective communication

is essential in an online environment.

Be mindful of how others might receive and interpret your written responses.

Online, we dont have the benefit of body language, inflection, and other non-verbal

clues to help decode correctly one anothers responses.

Always be respectful.

And always follow accepted rules of spelling and grammar.

How you express yourself, whether verbally or in writing, communicates a great deal about

you.

You are striving to obtain a professional career, and here is where you can start practicing

communicating in a professional manner.

Click the Quiz link to begin.

For more information on Taking Quizzes and Exams, click and read this document.

Well, were finally at the end of this orientation overview.

Click the Wrap-Up link to complete the orientation.

As the directions here state, a concluding video with a link to a feedback survey will

display upon quiz completion.

We welcome your feedback, so feel free to take the survey.

Best of luck to you as you pursue your professional education here at Fortis.
