We are on Charlie's Bunion!
Say hi! *laughter* Hello we are on Charlie's Bunion.
  Really pretty!!
Everybody say hi! *laughter* Woo woo!!
  Love it!
Alright Day 17, on the Appalachian Trail.
I stayed at a shelter last night.
It got a little nippy, got a little cold but I stayed in the shelters so it was okay.
Taking it easy today just going to do a nice 12 miles to the next shelter.
Feeling pretty good today, been taking care of my blister because they were pretty grotchy. (made up word)
Just enjoying it, I'm in a good mood.
I slept pretty good in the shelter, Im getting used to sleeping next to strangers.
It's actually kind of like, you feel safe in the shelters for the most part.
So I'm starting to get used to it, starting to sleep out here more.
It's actually kind of weird the trail is starting to feel kind of like home, a little bit.
Going into Gatlinburg, into the town was a little overwhelming, sensory overload.
And then coming back to the trail, I could feel at peace so it's going pretty good.
  Day 17, here we are.
Alright Day 18, and almost peed my pants, I held it for so long.
It was a sprint to squat by a tree.
  It was bad.
Slept pretty good at the shelter, it was super full again.
It started raining about an hour after I got the shelter so I was lucky none of my stuff
  got really wet.
It's supposed to rain again today, I think it's 70% chance.
Um... hopefully see some visitors today to hike with me for a little bit but we'll see.
  That's about it.
  See ya later.
If you can see this lovely highway that's behind me.
Just had my first experience of trying to figure out where to go, but they actually
  marked it pretty well.
You just had to keep your eyes open for marks.
And I liked crossed underneath that highway but it took you on a road for a while and
then it took you under it.
It was the first time where I was like, I don't know where I'm going because the guidebook
was kind of iffy on it.
Well I just wasn't paying attention, but day 18.
I've put in some miles I don't know what I am at.
I'll figure it out here in a little bit.
I think there's a campsite in about two miles.
  Feeling really good today.
Had John and Elizabeth come visit me and hike with me for a while and had some awesome lunch.
It was really good and this is a really big hill!
But yeah, for some reason just doing low mileage and my legs were wanting to do some more today.
Because I got to the shelter at three and thought, you know I'm going to keep going.
So, totally on my own right now.
Nobody else really went this far, but it's only almost 5 so plenty of daylight left.
I'm going to find, there's a campsite about two more miles up.
I'll get there and set up and be good to go.
  Alright Iz out.
  Day 19.
Taking it a little easy this morning, it's been raining.
I only have 11 miles to do in two days since I'm meeting John at Max Patch on Thursday.
So I can really really take my time.
So yeah, getting some coffee ready, just gonna go real slow this morning.
You know *laughter* Inside my tent there's Ozzy down there.
  So Day 19 it's about 8 o'clock.
Usually wake up at 6:30... um yeah 60% chance of rain so... Not in a rush.
  Taking it easy this morning.
  Life is good.
  This is Max Patch.
  Incredible, my favorite place.
  Say hi! *laughter*
  Nah *laughter*
Just sitting up here waiting for my ride.
Thinking who needs hair, when you can have this.
  *laughter* So pretty up here.
  Max Patch.
  Top 5.
  I like ya.
  I could pull this off.
  Be bald forever.
So, my sister wrote me a note and I couldn't read it until I got on the plane and in it
she said a whole bunch of things.
I find myself reading the note almost every night, if not every other night.
And there's a certain line in it that she says, I hope your heart screams with joys.
And it' day 19 and my heart's screamimg with joy.
making this dream come true and it's so frickin pretty.
It's hard but I love it.
  I absolutely love it.
  day 19 is just full.
  This is crazy.
  So pretty.
  Pretty cool.
  This is Smudge.
  Jonah's cat, follows him everywhere.
  Hola, como esta.
Day 22 and I am in a household.
Okay so Wednesday night I got picked up instead of Thursday.
So I spent Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Friday night here in Knoxville, Tennessee
  at John and Erica's house.
Um... they were nice enough to to let me come crash here for a little bit and I have a bed!
Which I have slept wonderfully here.
  I just pass out.
  Its been awesome.
Thursday I just hung around the house, caught up on Survivor of course.
Went to Alex's soccer game, just hang out and then Friday ran some errands went to REI,
and decided to stick with my shoes because my pinky toes pretty much healed and they're
calloused now and I don't want to get new shoes that will cause new issues.
So I'm just going to stick with what I got.
And then today I've just been hanging out finishing up on some stuff and then I'll get back on
  the trail tonight.
So its pretty much been three days off.
  which was much needed.
It's been really nice to stay in a home, get some really really good food.
But I am, I think I'm ready to get back to the trail and get back to business.
  Get back to explorin'.
I should be in Hot Springs pretty soon too.
Yeah it's been a good week so ready to get back to the journey.
  Yeah yeah yeah.
  Week 3, day 22.
I've almost been out here for a month.
  Time is flying.
