This Post was taken from the book "HOW TO PRAY" by R. A. Torrey.

See the Video Description for more details about this book.

There is perhaps no greater hindrance to prayer than stinginess, the lack of generousity toward

the poor and toward God's work. It is the one who gives generously to others who receives

generously from God. "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,

shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure

ye mete it shall be measured to you again." (Luke 6:38, R.V.)

The generous man is the mighty man of prayer. The stingy man is the powerless man of prayer.

Proverb. 21:13, "Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry

himself, but shall not be heard."

George Muller for example was a mighty man of prayer because he was a mighty giver. What

he received from God never stuck to his fingers; he immediately passed it on to others. He

was constantly receiving because he was constantly giving.

Jack and Elizabeth - To Make You Feel My Love - Duration: 3:54.

When the rain is blowing

In your face

And the whole world

Is on your case

I would offer you a

Warm embrace

To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows

And the stars appear

And there is no one

To dry your tears

I could hold you for

A million years

To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your

Mind up yet

But I would never do you wrong

I've known it from the moment

That we met

So no doubt in my mind

Where you belong

I'd go hungry

I'd go black and blue

I'd go crawling

Down the avenue

There ain't nothing that

I wouldn't do

To make you feel my love

The storms are raging

On a rolling sea

And down the highway

Of regret

The winds of change

Are blowing wild and free

You ain't seen

Nothing like me yet

There ain't nothing that

I wouldn't do

Go to the ends of the earth

For you

Make you happy

Make your dreams come true

To make you feel my

Love

Eric's 1 minute tips: You Miss Every Shot You Don't Take - Duration: 0:49.

Instructor: Tip number two.

You miss every shot you don't take.

When I managed the institutional client business

at auction.com, the biggest buyers were always

the buyers who made the most offers.

At OffrBox, we're seeing the same trend.

The buyers who are most successful

with getting accepted offers are those buyers

who take lots of shots.

Meaning, the buyers who submit lots of offers.

One of the goals with creating OffrBox

was to allow investors to efficiently make offers

and negotiate deals in seconds instead of days or weeks.

So go ahead and make those offers

and give yourself at least the chance

to have the seller accept it.

You miss every shot you don't take.

Why You Should Visit the Academic Success Center - Duration: 2:49.

I would come up to the Academic Success Center and do my work here.

I would work on papers or online homework, such as with MyMathLab, and being here in

the center not only motivated me to do my work, but if I turned around I could see someone

that would be there to help if I got stuck, so it's very motivational and secure here,

academically.

So the A.S.C. to me has been extremely beneficial.

It involves every aspect of success when it comes to education.

Personally, myself, I used the A.S.C. a lot for mathematics.

The tutors here were amazing.

You know, I like to say, if truly you just walk through that door and give five minutes,

ten minutes, you're going to walk out gaining so much more than when you came in.

It's been a huge benefit to my educational success from the day I started to now.

It's comfortable, it's friendly.

They are willing to help you.

They don't care how many times you ask the question over and over again.

They always help you.

I'm just coming back to school, coming back to school, coming back to college after forty

plus years being out of school, raising children, grand kids, and now I decided I want to do

something for myself, and because there was that gap in between, you forget a lot of things

that you've learned in high school.

They're here for you.

My suggestion would be take advantage of it, you know?

That way you don't have to take another semester of a class you've already done.

It help me better understand what I was being taught.

It's at a slower pace, so you can ask as many questions as you want and just really understand

the material that's being taught.

I've seen improvements with my grades.

I would absolutely recommend the A.S.C. to a friend.

This place is truly a warm welcome; it's a great environment.

When you go through the door not only are you going to get great educational tutors,

but you're going to get tutors that actually care...

It's just, you know- to get such amazing help from amazing people with no price, you can't...

you can't beat that, you know?

They really do give you all the keys to just become successful, and I mean as the student,

it's your choice to take those keys and to apply them or to not, and me, personally,

I take advantage of everything I can get here.

So, absolutely.

C9 Autimatic on Stewie2K: "He understands the game intuitively" - Duration: 9:19.

just take our vacation and yeah. So just... The plan is just to work hard for the next

six weeks, six to eight weeks.

rules set protocols set strats for specific like scenarios and I found that when you do

that you need to have a lot of time and you're going to go through a really rough transition

period where everyone's just like thinking like "oh this is the start that we have to

run." And then it doesn't, it's not about playing anymore it's about what start we're

running. So I think that really, you know, took a hit on our results. So I think now

we we made a switch and Stewie is going to go back to in game leading and I think that's

better for the short term and for the long run because I think he's a really talented

player and he understands the game probably. I think he understands the game in a different

way than I do. He understands it intuitively. Like like in the back of his head he just

knows like oh we should go A this round. Whereas for me I'm like oh well we killed this guy.

This guy is rotating here. That means this guy is going to rotate here. So then we should

probably hit A. So where it takes me a little bit longer to come to the same conclusion

as him. It's just instant for him which I think is good. So yeah we're making that change.

I was. But I think this time around. I think the one thing about him is he just wants to

win so bad. And sometimes you know like when you want to win super bad you know someone

makes a mistake like if you make the right call and so it makes me say it it's really

frustrating. And so I think just being able to forget about it being able to forget about

the mistake and just play the next round is something that I mean he's already improved

on a lot. And yeah if he's keeps doing it and he'll be a great in game leader.

learned a lot from playing with with the players on there. The main thing that I probably learned

is just how to be patient and yeah. So yeah I don't think if I wasn't on TSM, I think

I've said this before, but if if I didn't know how my experience on TSM I don't think

I'd be the player I am right now. And I don't think I would have had the impact that I have

on C9.

of the game. Stu I enjoy playing with him because like I said he just wants to win so

bad. And when you play with someone like that on your team it kind of pushes you, you know?

When I first moved into the team house I remember him playing Rank S till like 3 o'clock in

the morning 4:00 o'clock in the morning and I'm just like I was like well if he's going

to be playing I might as we'll play you you know like like it just really motivated me

to see someone with that kind of drive. It made me you know have the same type of drive

and that was really good to play with. And I think that's a large reason why I've had

my success or why we've had our successes is because of his drive alone. And then Jordan,

obviously he's been playing for a long time. He's probably one of the coolest guy I know.

Like I love talking to him about anything not even just Counter-Strike. He's really

fun to have on the team because you could be losing and everyone would be in a terrible

mood but he'll just crack a joke. And we just reset you know. And it really is really cool

to have someone like that who's just always like in good spirits. And on top of that he's

selfless player. He doesn't care like what he does for the team or he doesn't care what

he does and the care of his dying. All he wants is to win. And and yeah I really enjoyed

playing with him for those reasons. And then Tyler pretty much same thing as Jordan actually.

OK. He's kind of a combination of Jordan and Stewie. So Tyler really wants to win as well.

His mindset is like whatever it takes to win, I'll do it. You know like, So he's our AWPer

and he's obviously like super skilled and talented but he ends up being the one supporting

us. And and he ends up being the one planting the bomb and stuff like that. stuff that AWPers

shouldn't be doing but he just does it because he doesn't care and he doesn't say anything

about it because he's like you know this is what I need to do for us to win so I'm going

to do it. It's kind of a good and bad thing because you know sometimes if he's in a good

position but he has the bomb, he should just give us the bomb to plant it you know. But

yeah I guess that's something I really like about him is just that it doesn't matter to

him you know like. He has a lot of trust in his teammates, you know, in up to win the

round. And he'll just do whatever it takes. And then Mike... Mike is probably like...

I would consider him like one of my really good friends like in and outside of the game.

He I don't know I just love talking to him about anything. We spend a lot of time together

outside of the game. And yeah I don't really know how to describe Mike he's just so...

it's really easy to talk to him. He doesn't seem like he's a talkative person but if you

initiate the conversation he'll just keep talking for like hours. And. Yeah just really

chill guy. And in terms of Counter-Strike the thing that I liked the most about him

is he's very level headed. So he doesn't like. He never rages at anyone. Like if you get

him killed he doesn't. Well he cares but he will never say anything and he doesn't actually

get mad it doesn't affect his gameplay at all. So I think that's really having like

someone who's really stable emotionally is so important in terms of like having a championship team.

probably the thing that I worked on or the thing that I would pride myself on the most

is, like I said earlier, being patient. So if I feel like. If I feel like a play was

made and it was a wrong play and and me and the person made the play disagree, I'm very

patient with explaining why I think my way and if you know if he's right then I'll admit

to it you know. And then another thing is I'm like Mike where I'm very, I try to stay

as composed as possible like whenever we're playing matches like if anyone is mad it doesn't

affect me if if if we lose a stupid around. That's like the other team clutches one V

five. It doesn't tilt me at all. like, I try to stay as composed as possible and yeah just

like just being as... just being chill you know like I I really think that that's how

you win championships is you can't you can't be emotional when it counts you know.

that he was streaming kind of made me more mad than I would normally get just because

I know that when he's dreaming he'll. He like didn't let me talk at all. He was just like

cutting me off and I was getting a little annoyed at that. So I.. I would say I overreacted

but. Yeah I just don't think that it's cool to talk about anyone's personal life on stream.

To talk about their family or whatever financial problems they might have or whatever illnesses

they might be going through or just anything personal without the person's consent. You

know? If the person is the one that's bringing you up on stream and talking about their own

life on stream then that's different. But for someone to to bring up something. Yeah

I don't know. I just think it's really unnecessary and uncalled for and yeah I just want to get

that point across. Yeah. And it's also like you know like before

It's like if both parties say "hey this is entertainment, let's create drama"

that's fine. But if it's something that's unwarranted

and it's one person bringing up not great stuff it's different.

yeah and it's also like... before

that we were just talking about like oh you suck. Oh I suck, you know like we were just

like oh we suck at this game and all of a sudden like to bring in like family. I mean

it was not true what he was saying but just like bring it to that level. You know at that

point it's all about having fun or like just banter. At that point like you're trying to

like. I feel like you're trying to hurt someone you know.

A Warning to Believers About Unkept Vows - Duration: 8:15.

So here is what happened with Ananias and Sapphira and why it happened: it followed

the patterns that God had laid down. The first thing to recognize is that

from the first moments of the inception of the body of followers of Christ, Believers

were not perfect, and they didn't become perfect. There is nothing here to

indicate that Ananias and Sapphira's actions were those of pretenders;

rather they were weak Believers.

Second, just as with Achan in the Book of Joshua, Ananias and Sapphira held back for

themselves some of what now belonged to God. Why did the proceeds

of the sale of their own property belong to God? Because they had made a show of selling

their property and giving it all to the Believer's community.

They made a vow.

But instead of following through they falsely reported the selling price, and

then gave that lesser amount to the disciples keeping the rest for

themselves. It was a deception designed to make them look good in front of everybody.

The Deuteronomy 23 passage we read says that no one is required to make a vow;

that is strictly up to the individual.

But if you do, once that vow is made,

God will hold us to it. Yeshua speaks about making vows in this way:

Matthew 5:33-37 CJB

33 "Again, you have heard that our fathers were told, 'Do not break your oath,'

and 'Keep your vows to ADONAI.'

34 But I tell you not to swear at all- not 'by heaven,' because it is God's throne;

35 not 'by the earth,' because it is his footstool; and not 'by Yerushalayim,' because it is the

city of the Great King.

36 And don't swear by your head, because you can't make a single hair white or black.

37 Just let your 'Yes' be a simple 'Yes,' and your 'No' a simple 'No'; anything more

than this has its origin in evil.

Ananias and Sapphira should have heeded their Master Yeshua. They had no need to vow to

sell property and give it all to the Believers Community. Peter

says in verse 4 of Acts 5: "Before you sold it, the property was yours; and after you

sold it, the money was yours to use as you pleased."

Ananias and Sapphira did nothing wrong in selling property and giving however much or little of it they preferred

to the disciples. What they did would have been simple charity; what

they did wrong was to turn voluntary charity into a sacred vow to give it all to their

fellow Believers. The instant they did that, the proceeds of the sale belonged

to God as His holy property. Ananias and Sapphira transferred ownership to the Lord (whether

they realized that or not), and then took some of what was now God's holy property

for themselves.

This is a lesson for us in modern times. Making a vow to God is a serious matter; it was then

and remains so today. I'm not saying that if you break your vow

that God will surely kill you; but He did choose to kill Ananias and Sapphira. And Jesus,

knowing the hardness of our hearts....including the hearts of believers....

strongly warned us to simply make our yes, yes and no, no without invoking

a vow in the name of the Lord. Because then it changes the entire

equation to something holy and therefore dangerous.

So what did God intend to accomplish with the dramatic deaths of the Blasphemers Ananias

and Sapphira, beyond divine justice? Verse 11 gives us the answer.

"As a result of this, great fear came over the whole Messianic community; and

even over everyone who heard about it." I think if we are honest, we

see a little of Ananias and Sapphira in ourselves. Who among us hasn't made a promise in our

heart to do something righteous, or to not do something selfish

or bad, and either changed our minds or forgotten all about it? Or even more, directed a prayer

towards God that if He would do thus and so for us, then we

would respond by doing thus and so for Him; and He did His part but we didn't follow

through with our part. Besides, no matter how we look at the God

principles involved with their deaths, doesn't it seem to our natural sense, our natural selves, a sense

of fairness that receiving the death penalty for not turning over 100% of the proceeds

of the sale of their own property to the Believing community was pretty extreme?

I have little doubt that the Believers who witnessed or heard of this event truly understood

the God principles about what happened with Ananias and

Sapphira. Yet as F. F. Bruce said in his Commentary on Acts:

"The fear which fell on the whole

community suggests that many a member of it

(like many an Israelite when Achan was exposed)

had reason to tremble and think: There, but for the grace of God, go I".

Amen to that.

The Holy Scriptures are there to inform, and to inspire, and to warn. So for those who

still haven't been convinced, just yet, that God's laws and

commandments from the Hebrew Bible are every bit as relevant and required of us to obey

them as are the instructions to us from Christ and His Disciples in

the New Testament, let the horrific deaths of Ananias and Sapphira

.....followers of Christ.....

Be a lesson. Fear God.

Fear god.
